Did you see the adorable handheld fans we recently spotted in Disneyland’s Downtown Disney? Disneyland Fan at World of Disney in Downtown Disney Well, we’re happy to say that we have now found several of them in Walt Disney World, too! And since the hot summer temps show no sign of cooling down here in Central Florida (even though fall and Halloween snacks are already taking over the parks), the arrival of these fun fans has come none too soon! We found four fans at Celebrity 5 & 10 in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, starting with the colorful Rainbow Mickey Fan! Rainbow Mickey Fan And if you can’t get enough of the Orange Bird merchandise that’s been available during the 2020 Taste of EPCOT Food and Wine Festival (which has also been offering some merchandise from the Spring’s 2020 Flower and Garden Festival featuring our Orange pal), you will definitely love the bright and cheerful Orange Bird Fan! Orange Bird Fan The Evil Queen from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs is revealed as this one fans out. Evil Queen Fan And you’ll find The Princess and the Frog‘s Dr. Facilier — along with some “Friends from the Other Side” — on the final fan. Dr. Facilier Fan And if YOU’RE a fan of those Disney Villains… Click here to find out where you just might spot some Disney Villains in Disney World this fall! The fans are $9.99 each, and we found them at Mickey’s of Hollywood in the park, too. Fans at Mickey’s of Hollywood The only fans that we didn’t find from the collection in Disneyland are the Hei Hei fan and, naturally, the Disneyland Resort fan. Otherwise, the gang’s all here… at least for now until they (hopefully) add more! I must say, we’ve become rather big fans… of these FANS. We think these would be cute put into use or even as fun and colorful decorations at home. What do YOU think? How do you like these new handheld fans? Please let us know with a comment! Although Downtown Disney welcomed back guests in July, the rest of Disneyland Resort remains closed. Disneyland Main Entrance And it seems that Disneyland’s reopening continues to get delayed, with reservations most recently canceled through September 12th. At the time, guests could only make reservations after September 15th. That date has been pushed back again. Disneyland is now canceling reservations for stays through September 26th. Disneyland Hotel Interestingly enough, we recently discovered that new Disneyland reservations weren’t available until the beginning of October, information that was later confirmed by a Disney Cast Member. Today, we checked, and the website still shows reservations available for all three Disneyland Resort hotels as of October 1st. Disneyland Hotel Room Search for October 1st, 2020 Dates before October 1st were shown as unavailable. We have started seeing signs that Disneyland might reopen soon, but we have no information from Disney at this time. We’ll be sure to stay up to date on Disneyland’s reopening and report back any new information we might find! In the meantime, Downtown Disney is open for business and is offering indoor dining again! Learn all about a new Downtown Disney exclusive shopping event! Just a few days ago, we shared with you that indoor dining could be coming soon to Downtown Disney at Disneyland Resort. Downtown Disney! Now, we’ve got an official update from Disney about indoor dining at Downtown Disney. Although Downtown Disney is open, indoor seating at its restaurants has been unavailable because indoor dining was suspended statewide by California’s Governor Newsom in an attempt to mitigate the spread of the pandemic. Restaurants in California, including those in Downtown Disney, have been restricted to offering outdoor dining for quite some time now. Tortilla Jo’s Outdoor Seating Recently, however, Orange County — the county where Disneyland is located — advanced to the next reopening tier in California. We shared with you that this meant indoor dining could be offered at restaurants in the county in limited numbers. La Brea Bakery Seating Yesterday, we walked around Downtown Disney and spoke to some of the restaurants there to see what they knew in terms of when their restaurants would be offering indoor seating. Some were not sure, but others did tell us that their restaurants planned to offer indoor seating soon. But, we hadn’t seen any official word from Disney itself about indoor dining. Outdoor seating at Ralph Brennan’s Jazz Kitchen Now, we’ve spotted a change on one of Disney’s websites regarding the ability to offer indoor dining in Downtown Disney. According to an update from Disney on the “Downtown Disney District: Know Before You Go” website — “…at this time, following state and county guidelines, limited indoor seating will be permitted; all other seating is outdoor patio only.” Ballast Point According to the current regulations from the City of Anaheim, capacity for indoor dining is limited to 25% capacity or a total of 100 people, whichever is less. ICYMI, we just shared our Top Ten pics from our visit yesterday to Disneyland Resort’s Downtown Disney. Downtown Disney District From new health and safety signage in front of the park gates to a peek at new merchandise and more, we wanted to give you an overall look at our experience. But now, we’d like to dedicate a little discussion to one of our findings during our visit, as a new Parking Self Pay station has been installed in the Simba Lot. You can see the structure — with the meters themselves still under wraps — here, with the Parking Self Pay sign easily spotted on top. Parking Self Pay station has arrived in Downtown Disney A bit of background… since Downtown Disney reopened in July, parking in the Simba lot (which is the only parking lot currently accessible to guests) has been complimentary. However, on the official Disneyland website it has been — and is still — noted that “this offering is temporary,” as the Simba Parking Lot was subject to Downtown Disney’s parking fees (and Annual Passholder parking did not apply) prior to Disneyland’s closure. Parking Self Pay station in the Simba Parking Lot at Downtown Disney Again, as the meters themselves are covered, further information is yet to be revealed. For instance, we do not know who the parking self-pay station is for, as the Simba Parking Lot already has payment booths as drivers enter and exit. We also do not know if this is a sign that complimentary parking in the Simba Lot could be coming to an end soon. Click here to see our Top Ten photos from our latest trip to Disneyland! One thing IS certain… we will be keeping our eyes peeled, and keeping you posted right here on DFB, so we hope you’ll stay tuned! Have you visited Downtown Disney since it reopened? Halloween is almost here, and it’s time to get spooky! We’ve already started to enjoy Halloween in the parks, what with all the spooktacular merchandise and food we’ve found. Jack Skellington Frappuccino from The Trolley Car at Hollywood Studios But not all the spooky snacks are on the menu: some are secret, meaning you have to know how to order them, like the Jack Skellington Frappuccino. Now, this frappuccino is a Starbucks hack that we decided to try out at The Trolly Car at Hollywood Studios. It’s basically a pumpkin spice frappuccino (oh, yeah!) with a few extras. To get it, you have to order it as a “single espresso shot, Chai, Pumpkin Spice Frappuccino, Whipped Cream and Java Chips on top, with Mocha Drizzle inside the cup.” Jack Skellington Frappuccino from The Trolley Car Cafe at Hollywood Studios We thought it tasted like BOTH Halloween and Christmas if that makes sense. Sips of the chai, particularly, reminded us of Christmas. But the pumpkin spice came through in some sips, too. Mostly, though, we tasted the chai and mocha. Jack Skellington Frappuccino from The Trolley Car Cafe at Hollywood Studios We thought it was a little too sweet for a coffee drink, but the taste would be good for a milkshake (which it’s not). You can also order it hot by ordering a Dirty Chai with pumpkin syrup, whipped cream, and Java Chips. Our drink cost $8.06. However, it was fun to try a drink inspired by the Pumpkin King! We’ll let you know if we discover any other secret menu hacks at Disney World! See what we thought of Starbucks New Pumpkin Snacks! Have you tried the Jack Skellington Frappuccino? Halloween might not even be behind us yet, but we’re already getting pretty excited about holiday happenings at Disney World, even if they’ll be a little different this year. Jock Lindsey’s Holiday Bar But at least one thing will be the same this year: Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar is getting its annual holiday makeover. Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bay is all about theming, which means it goes above and beyond for the holidays. Last year, the bar got holiday’d up with an overlay (complete with holiday treats), turning it into Jock Lindsey’s HOLIDAY Bar. And the Holiday Bar will return this year! Jock Lindsay’s Holiday Bar at Disney Springs And even better, there will be holiday-themed FOOD (because well, we are all about food — it’s in our name!). Maybe we’ll see the return of the holiday Caprese wreath (which we loved.) Holiday Caprese Wreath And as it IS a bar, there will be special holiday drinks, too! So we’re not just in, we are ALL IN. White Christmas Margarita We’ve had so many announcements of cancellations for the holiday season (goodbye, Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, and Candlelight Processional!) that it’s nice to know that some things will not change! We’re looking forward to visiting Jock Lindsey’s Holiday Bar again this year, and we’ll be sure to keep you up to date on when the decorations go up, as well as when the special menus are available. Watch the Trailer for New Disney+ Movie ‘Clouds’
Disney4me posted a topic in Disney Food/Restaurants
We have loved so much of the original content that Disney+ has released so far from The Mandalorian (aka The Baby Yoda Show) to a production of the Broadway show Hamilton. And now Disney+ has a new original movie coming next month! Clouds ©Disney The movie is Clouds, and we’re pretty sure this one is going to be a tearjerker! Clouds is based on the true story of 17-year-old Zach Sobiech, who became a YouTube sensation in 2012 with his song “Clouds.” Zach, though, suffered from a rare bone cancer, which he later learned had spread. Here’s the trailer: Bring the tissues folks, because Clouds is going to make us cry! It seems like a really uplifting story, though, about the power of living each day as if it were your last. And we’re here for that kind of positive message! Clouds lands on Disney+ on October 16th. So grab your favorite popcorn bucket and get ready for an inspiring movie night! Learn about the new R.L. Disney World is all about the theming, which is one of the reasons guests love it so much. But theming isn’t just reserved for the attractions and hotels — oh no, it also extends to many of the restaurants (and we’re especially excited about the upcoming space-themed Space 220 at EPCOT!). Gideon’s Bakehouse at Disney Springs So it shouldn’t come as a surprise that the upcoming Gideon’s Bakehouse at Disney Springs also has a mysterious backstory! Now we’ve already seen some signage that hints at the location’s story. We know that the building is reportedly a former Booksellers Shop called “Lindwurm Bookseller, Curious Books & Antiquities!” Gideon’s Bakehouse But now Gideon’s Bakeshop has revealed a little more about the shop’s backstory. According to Gideon’s, Demolition done during construction of the shop uncovered a small gap in a brick wall. Within that gap, workers discovered a vintage ledger and an old daguerreotype of the shop’s owner, Jonathan Lindwurm. Gideon’s Bakehouse Backstory @Gideon’s Bakehouse Mr. Lindwurm was a “purveyor of rare books and antiquities” and sold such things in his shop. Gideon’s promises that when the shop opens, more will be revealed about this mysterious man. Gideon’s Bakehouse Backstory @Gideon’s Bakehouse This totally fits in with the feel of the current Gideon’s Bakehouse in Orlando. We’ve spotted a lot of vintage-looking books and objects there, so it’s a safe bet that the shop in Disney Springs will be similar, but in this case, every object will tell a story. And many of those objects will be made by local artists! Gideon’s Bakehouse in Orlando Gideon’s has also shared that they do not have an official opening date yet, so we’re still left guessing as to what this enigmatic building holds in store for us, beyond its amazing cookies. Gideon’s Bakehouse Cookies We used to get these incredible cookies from The Polite Pig, but they’re no longer on the menu (insert sad emoji here). So we can’t wait for the official Gideon’s Bakehouse to open in Disney Springs! We also can’t wait to learn more about the Gideon’s Bakehouse story. If you’re headed to Disney World soon, you’ll need to make sure you’ve got a valid park ticket as well as a Park Pass reservation for the park you wish to visit each day of your trip. Sunset Boulevard The Park Pass reservation is a new requirement for park entry that was introduced after Disney World reopened. Now, we’ve spotted an update on Park Pass Availability for guests who want to visit the parks this month. Over the past few months, we’ve seen the availability of Park Pass reservations change. Park Pass reservations for some days, especially holidays like Halloween, have become unavailable for some guests, but we’ve also seen additional Park Pass reservations become available for certain guests on specific days. Cinderella Castle We’ve even had some experiences where the system has allowed us to book Park Passes for a day or park that appeared to be full according to Disney’s Park Pass availability calendar. EPCOT Just yesterday, we saw that Park Pass reservations appeared to be full for all four theme parks for this Saturday, September 12th for all guests, and that reservations were also unavailable for all parks for Annual Passholders for September 13th, 19th, and 26th. @Disney — Screenshot from September 9th Today, however, the availability calendar is looking very different! Theme Park Tickets Guests can now get a Park Pass reservation at any of theme parks for the entire month of September, including this Saturday. Screenshot from Disney Park Pass Availability Calendar — Theme Park Tickets Guests Disney Resort Guests also appear to be able to get a Park Pass reservation at any of the theme parks for any day this month, including this weekend. Screenshot from Disney Park Pass Availability Calendar — Disney Resort Guests Park Pass availability for Annual Passholders, however, still appears to be a bit more limited. When we initially checked today, the calendar showed all weekends in yellow and nothing greyed out — meaning at least some parks were available on all of those days. Screenshot from Disney Park Pass Availability Calendar — Annual Passholders But, just a few moments later, it changed again. It now appears that Park Pass reservations are not available for Annual Passholders for any park for Saturday, September 12th… Screenshot from Disney Park Pass Availability Calendar — Annual Passholders …but are still available for EPCOT only for Sunday, September 13th. And, Park Passes still appear to be available at least for some parks for the remaining weekends in September. Screenshot from Disney Park Pass Availability Calendar — Annual Passholders Like we mentioned, this availability changed very rapidly, so if you are interested in going to one of the parks this weekend, keep checking the availability calendar. We also recommend that you go into the actual system to make your Park Pass to see if the availability differs from what is shown on the calendar. Disney’s Animal Kingdom And, be sure to check back with us for more updates. We’ll be monitoring the Disney Park Pass Availability calendar, and we’ll let you know if we see any changes. We recently told you about some of the fall fun coming September 15 – October 31 to Magic Kingdom Park, and today I’m excited to share more details about seasonal entertainment experiences headed your way! Throughout the day, special Halloween cavalcades will pop up on the parade route and head down Main Street, U.S.A. You could come across Mickey Mouse and his pals, all dressed up for the occasion in Boo-tiful Halloween costumes. On select days, you may even encounter a cavalcade of Disney Villains – from Gaston and Maleficent to Queen of Hearts and Jafar – creeping down the path, or a nightmarish procession featuring the Pumpkin King himself, Jack Skellington! As another special treat for the Halloween season, we are thrilled (and chilled!) to welcome the iconic Dapper Dans back to Magic Kingdom Park, beginning September 20, performing as their undead alter egos The Cadaver Dans. You’ll be enchanted by a cappella performances from the Cadaver Dans when they emerge from their tombs. The Halloween spirit is also in the air over at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, where Minnie’s Halloween Dine is set to return to Hollywood & Vine, beginning September 25. A monster feast will be served to your table, and favorite Disney friends will make special appearances in the restaurant. You can wave and snap photos of your hostess, Minnie Mouse, dressed as a happy witch. Goofy is coming as a spooky cowboy, with Mickey Mouse as a funny vampire, and his best pal, Pluto, gets into the act wearing a cute Halloween collar. Halloween may look a little different this year, but I’m here for it! Who else is excited for a visit to the parks this fall? View the full article

While Disneyland has yet to announce a reopening date for its two theme parks, we can STILL visit the shopping and dining district, Downtown Disney! And with indoor dining set to resume as early as this weekend, there are even MORE reasons to visit these days! Downtown Disney District We stopped by Downtown Disney this week, and needless to say, there were some pretty interesting finds! Let’s take a look at the top TEN photos from Disneyland today! The Skies Are FULL of Smoke! The devastating wildfires across California have begun to have an impact on the Disneyland Resort. While Anaheim is currently safe from the wildfires themselves, the smoke from the fires has blown across the West Coast, completely covering the sky. Smoke Above Downtown Disney No, those AREN’T clouds you’re seeing in these photos. Those are indeed smoke plumes that have arrived at Disneyland. This isn’t the first time the skies have taken on a bit of an orange-y glow from wildfires as unfortunately this time of year is California’s active wildfire season. Disney California Adventure Park It was even raining ash at one point while we were visiting Downtown Disney today. Be sure to take extra precautions if you’re visiting Downtown Disney this week, especially if you have any sort of compromised breathing condition. Smoke Above Disney California Adventure At this time it is unclear how long the smoke will remain in the area. Our thoughts go out to all of those on the West Coast who have been impacted by the wildfires. Click here to read more about the smoke in Disneyland and the wildfires raging across California and the West Coast. New Health and Safety Signs Appear By the Park Gates! Health and safety signage has always been in good supply in Downtown Disney since it reopened in July. Signs practically cover the entire shopping and dining district, including the security checkpoints, stores, and restaurants. But there’s one area of the resort that Guests have had access to that just recently got their own supply of signs: the park gates! Disney California Adventure Park — Health and Safety Reminders On our most recent trip to Downtown Disney, we noticed several of these signs were added to the entrance of both Disneyland and Disney California Adventure! Disneyland Park Does this mean the parks are even closer to reopening than we thought? Or is Disney simply taking every opportunity to remind Guests of the health and safety guidelines? Only time will tell as theme parks across California wait for the reopening guidelines to be released by the state! Click here to take a closer look at the new signs that have appeared at the Disneyland Resort! Could Complimentary Parking Soon Go Away? Before Disneyland’s closure, the Simba Parking Lot was subject to Downtown Disney’s parking fees, and Annual Passholder parking did not apply. But since Downtown Disney reopened in July, parking in the Simba Parking Lot has been free for all Guests. Parking Self Pay station has arrived in Downtown Disney That could all soon change, as we noticed a new parking self-pay station in the Simba Lot on our most recent visit. Parking Self Pay station in the Simba Parking Lot at Downtown Disney The meters are still wrapped so it’s hard to tell at this time exactly who this parking self-pay station is intended for. The Simba Parking Lot already has booths as you enter and exit for payment, so we’ll keep an eye on the situation in the coming weeks! Could Disneyland be preparing to reopen soon? Here are some little things we’ve spotted recently! We Picked Our Top Merchandise Finds of the Day! One GREAT thing about visiting Downtown Disney these days is that there’s never a shortage of new merchandise! This last visit was no exception, as we found some pretty nifty items! First up is this Mulan sipper that we spotted in World of Disney! Mulan Sipper at World of Disney at Downtown Disney With the live-action remake now available on Disney+, we can TOTALLY see ourselves enjoying our favorite beverage from this cup, just like we’re at the movie theaters! The sipper retails for $17.49. Click here to learn more about the new Mulan sipper in Downtown Disney! While Disneyland is currently closed, we can STILL celebrate the Halloween season with all the spooky merchandise that has appeared in Downtown Disney over the past few weeks! Our most recent addition to our seasonal collection is this Oogie Boogie spirit jersey! Oogie Boogie Spirit Jersey This vibrant green jersey features Oogie’s larger-than-life face on the front, and says “Oogie Boogie” on the back! Oogie Boogie Spirit Jersey We can see ourselves wearing this all season long, paired with our favorite Halloween Crocs, also available in Downtown Disney! You can find this spirit jersey, along with all of the other Nightmare Before Christmas and Halloween merchandise, in World of Disney for $69.99. Click here to see even MORE Halloween merchandise available in Downtown Disney! And that’s a wrap on our top 10 photos from our recent trip to Disneyland! As we await Disney’s announcement for the reopening of the Happiest Place on Earth, we can still get our West Coast Disney fix by browsing the shelves at World of Disney, listening to the music across the esplanade, and waving “hello” to some of our favorite Cast Members! Be sure to check back as we bring you MORE updates from Downtown Disney and the Disneyland Resort! As far as iconic Disney snacks go, we’d say churros are definitely up there! Churro And much like some of our other Disney World favorites like popcorn buckets and cupcakes, churros have also recently received a Halloween makeover! But the festive sugar coating on the new Black and Orange Churros wasn’t the only spooky thing about this treat! We’ve been on a mission to try alllll of the seasonal treats in Disney World! So, we stopped by the Castle Hub Refreshment Cart on our most recent visit to Magic Kingdom to get our spooky snackin’ on! Castle Hub Refreshment Cart Here, we found the Halloween-themed Black and Orange Churros which can be served in an Oogie Boogie or Mickey Pumpkin Balloon Bucket if you REALLY want to get in the spirit! If you choose to snag a seasonal bucket, you’ll get TWO Black and Orango Churros and the bucket for $22. Black and Orange Churros in an Oogie Boogie Bucket But, if you’re looking to save a little cash (and room for more snacks!) you can snag just an individual Black and Orange Churro for $7.25. And that’s what has us saying, “what’s this??” Black and Orange Churros A regular churro will run you $6.50 and it’s pretty much the same as the seasonal option, just without the black and orange colored sugar. So, you’ll pay $0.75 extra per churro for that extra pop of color on the Halloween-themed version! Black and Orange Churros The Black and Orange Churros were definitely tasty, and they might be a good option if you’re looking to get some cool Instagram pictures in front of the castle. But if you’re not worried about the aesthetics, we would opt for a regular churro instead, since all you’re really paying for with the upgrade is the colorful sugar! That way, you can splurge on some of the other awesome Halloween treats like the Not-So-Poison Apple Cupcake or the Hades Nachos!
