Most people spend months obsessing over every detail of their Disney World trip, from dining reservations booked at the 60-day mark to packing lists reviewed three times over. Magic Kingdom But there is one step that consistently gets skipped, and it tends to cause the most unnecessary stress once guests actually walk through the park gates. Before your trip, you need to spend real, dedicated time inside the My Disney Experience app, not just downloading it and assuming you’ll figure it out later. Getting comfortable with the app at home, on your couch, with no crowds and no pressure, is one of the smartest things you can do to set your vacation up for success. Why the App Feels Harder Than It Should My Disney Experience is genuinely powerful. It handles everything from mobile food ordering and virtual queue access to Lightning Lane reservations and live wait times across all four parks. ©Disney The problem is that the app has a lot going on, and trying to learn it in real time while surrounded by thousands of people on a busy park day is not the move. The navigation is not always intuitive, menus are layered, and if you have not touched it before your trip, you will absolutely be fumbling around when you should be enjoying yourself. Set aside 30 to 45 minutes before your trip to click around, explore the different menus, and get a feel for where things live. It is a low-effort step that pays off significantly once you’re in the parks. Get a Feel for Mobile Order Before You’re Starving Mobile Order is genuinely one of the best features at Disney World, but first-timers often don’t realize it requires a few more steps than just tapping a button. You select your restaurant and arrival window, build your order, and pay through the app. When you arrive, you tap “I’m Here, Prepare My Order,” and you get a notification when it’s ready to pick up. ©Disney Knowing how the system works ahead of time means you won’t be standing in a doorway trying to read instructions while your group waits. Try browsing a few menus and walking through a practice order before your trip. You don’t have to complete a purchase, but getting familiar with the flow makes a real difference. Previewing the menus also means you can walk into the day with a loose game plan for meals, which makes lunchtime decisions a lot less stressful when you are tired and hungry. Confirm Your Tickets and Park Passes Are Linked Correctly This one might seem basic, but you would be surprised how often guests arrive at a park entry point and discover their tickets are not properly linked to their My Disney Experience account. Before your trip, open the app and confirm that every person in your party has their ticket associated with their profile. If you’re traveling with family members or friends who have their own accounts, make sure your group is connected so you can manage plans together. ©Disney The same goes for your MagicBand or MagicMobile setup. MagicMobile lets you use your phone as your ticket, hotel room key, and Lightning Lane scanner, which is especially handy if you prefer to travel light in the parks. You can set it up directly through My Disney Experience, and it works even if your phone’s battery dies. Getting this sorted at home means one less thing to troubleshoot at the park entrance. Learn How Lightning Lane Selections Work Lightning Lane Multi Pass and Lightning Lane Single Pass are the current systems for skipping the standby queue at Disney World. If you’re planning to use either, it’s worth understanding how they work before your trip so you’re not scrambling to figure out the rules on the fly. Lightning Lane With Lightning Lane Multi Pass, guests staying at a Disney World resort hotel (along with select other hotels) can start making selections up to seven days before their check-in date for their entire stay, covering up to 14 days. All other guests get access three days in advance. You can hold up to three Lightning Lane Multi Pass selections at a time, and you can choose your arrival windows as you go. Lightning Lane Single Passes are purchased separately for individual high-demand attractions. ©Disney Understanding this structure ahead of time means you will know exactly when to open the app and what to do when your booking window opens. Missing that window because you were not sure how the system worked is a frustrating and very avoidable situation. Make Sure Your PhotoPass Is Ready Ahead of Time If you have a Disney PhotoPass plan included with your ticket package or as an add-on, make sure it is activated and connected in My Disney Experience before you go. A Cast Member in Magic Kingdom! PhotoPass photographers are stationed throughout the parks and at ride photo locations, and your images link automatically to your account. If it’s not set up properly, you may not see your photos populate, or worse, you may not realize it wasn’t working until after you’ve left the parks. A quick check at home takes two minutes and saves a lot of frustration later. Learn How to Navigate Your Day With the App The My Disney Experience map is more useful than most guests give it credit for, and it is worth exploring before you arrive. Once you are inside a park, the map shows you live wait times for every attraction, the locations of every dining spot, restrooms, first aid stations, and character meet-and-greet areas. You can filter by category so you’re not sifting through everything at once, which makes it a genuinely practical tool rather than just a pretty graphic. ©Disney Before your trip, open the map for each park you plan to visit and spend a few minutes getting your bearings. Knowing roughly where things are laid out, which lands connect to which, and where your must-do attractions sit relative to the park entrance, gives you a real advantage on the day. You’ll spend less time reorienting yourself and more time actually moving through the park efficiently. Check Your Notifications and Settings This is the step almost everyone skips, and it’s one of the easiest to fix before you leave home. My Disney Experience sends push notifications for things like Mobile Order pickup alerts, Lightning Lane return window reminders, and virtual queue boarding group calls. If your notification settings aren’t configured correctly, or if you have accidentally muted the app, you can miss these alerts entirely. ©Disney Before your trip, go into your phone settings and confirm that My Disney Experience is allowed to send notifications. Then open the app itself and check what notification preferences are available inside. Missing a Mobile Order ready alert might just mean slightly colder food, but missing a boarding group call for a virtual queue attraction is a much bigger deal. A two-minute settings check at home is worth every second. ©Disney Getting comfortable with My Disney Experience before your trip is one of the easiest ways to reduce day-of stress and spend more time actually enjoying your vacation. The app can genuinely make your visit smoother, but only if you know how to use it. Now, who’s ready to plan your next Disney World vacation? Everyone, the moment is finally here — Big Thunder Mountain Railroad has officially reopened in Magic Kingdom! The smokestacks are up and running! Lines were WILD this morning as hundreds of people rope dropped the new attraction, which has a new track, new details, effects that haven’t worked in years, and so much more. When you’re riding yourself, sure, you’ll want to take the experience in as a whole, but you’ll also want to check out these HIDDEN details that make the ride even BETTER! The Wildest Ride in the Wilderness has been closed for over a year, and it’s coming out of refurbishment with a new track, brand new effects, and even a completely new scene. While there are some changes that are clear as day, such as the addition of a giant gold nugget that we’re obsessed with now, there are tons of small details that it may take you a few times through the ride to really see. Let’s go! One of these is a nod to Tom Sawyer Island, which is wonderful, now that it’s been completely demolished. This Blacksmith sign used to be located at Tom Sawyer Island’s Fort Langhorn, but now you can find it on the left at the very end of the ride. Blacksmith sign! Don’t worry, Tinker Bell is also still at the exit of the ride, and now she’s not covered in paint anymore! She’s located inside one of the rock formations, and it’s definitely a hidden Tink, because she’s hard to see. Hey, Tink! As you ride, you may notice a bobcat on top of a tall cactus — this is a tie back to a Disneyland ride! He was originally part of the “Mine Train Through Nature’s Wonderland” attraction in Disneyland, which has been gone for decades. Now, he’s back for guests to enjoy, and we couldn’t love it more. @waltdisneyimagineering on Instagram You also may notice that Isobar’s wagon has gotten a beautiful paint and design refresh. Now, it’s easier to see the big cumulus cloud on the front of his wagon, which is perfect, considering those clouds are known for creating some pretty intense storms. @waltdisneyimagineering on Instagram It looks like he did his job a little too well, though, as the whole area is still flooding! Yes, the guy in the bathtub is still part of this ride, which has us happier than we can put into words. He’s so iconic, it would have been a SHAME if he hadn’t made it through the refurb. @waltdisneyimagineering on Instagram There’s also a beautiful new paint job on the Gold Dust Saloon. Now, it’s more blue than green, but it’s still absolutely not safe to be in, so we don’t think anyone will be checking in any time soon. @waltdisneyimagineering on Instagram You’ll also find TONS of critters around the ride, which we feel also really bring it to life. You’ll see roosters, goats, hogs, and more all over the town of Tumbleweed, and you’ll want to watch closely, because some of them are where you’d least expect. @waltdisneyimagineering on Instagram We had an absolute blast riding this new version of Big Thunder Mountain, and we’ll be keeping you updated all day about how the opening day of the new attraction continues to go. When you’re planning a trip to Disney is always important to know what will be closed during your visit. So we make sure to always keep you informed of all the upcoming closures. Disneyland Hotel And if you’re planning a trip to Disneyland, specifically the Disneyland Hotel, there are two upcoming closures you need to know about. When visiting Disneyland, one of the coolest experiences you can have is taking by taking a trip over to the Disneyland Hotel to check out Trader Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Bar. This is a tropical bar themed to The Tiki Room! It is an immersive experience that truly transports guests to a tropical oasis. Trader Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Bar However, starting on May 14th, it is closing for refurbishment. The nearby Tangaroa Terrace, another bar and restaurant at the Disneyland Hotel themed to the Tiki Room, is also set to close on May 14th. Tangaroa Terrace And according to the Disneyland calendar, both spots are set to reopen again on May 20th. However, it’s also important to note that while Trader Sam’s is currently still open, it is already experiencing a partial closure. so good! So if you visit between now and the 14th, your experience could be slightly different. Now this is an extremely brief closure; however, if you have your heart set on either of these spots, it’s important to note and plan around! Trader Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Bar Now Trader Sam’s is approaching it’s 15 year anniversary on May 25th, so it’s possible this closure is to put in a few final touches so they are ready for their big anniversary celebration! Disney Visa Cards are well-known for their Disney perks. From travel deals and ticket discounts to merchandise savings, there are a lot of perks to taking a Disney trip as a Disney Visa Cardholder. Disney Visa The only issue: What happens if you don’t want to take a Disney trip? Let’s look at some of the most popular perks available to Disney Visa Cardholders: When booking their trip, Disney Visa Cardholders can finance their trip with 0% APR for 6 months on select Walt Disney World vacation packages. An exclusive Stitch Meet & Greet at Hollywood Studios. 10% off on select Disney World merchandise purchases. 10% off at select Disney World and Disney Springs restaurants. 15% off select guided tours. 10% off select Disney hotel recreation experiences. 20% Off Joffrey’s Coffee purchases (excluding alcohol) at Disney World and Disney Springs. Surf’s up! Now, all of those perks are hugely beneficial for anyone taking a Disney World vacation; there’s no doubt about that. However, sometimes even we want to do something different from time to time. Don’t get us wrong, we love Disney, but not for every single vacation, and when looked at from that vantage point, there aren’t many travel benefits to a Disney Visa Card. The Disney Visa Now, we will note that the aforementioned 0% APR for 6 months park can also be used for bookings on Disney Cruises, Adventures by Disney packages (which provide trips around the world to destinations including Africa, Europe, Asia, and South America), National Geographic Expeditions, and even trips to AULANI, Disney’s resort & spa in Ko Olina, Hawaii, so there are savings to be had on trips to destinations outside of the Walt Disney World and Disneyland resorts. However, those trips are once again Disney at their core. Aulani If you’re looking for some perks for non-Disney travel, other cards may offer more useful and robust perks packages. For example, the Chase Sapphire Preferred Card offers Cardholders the option to redeem points for Chase Travel bookings or transfer points to one of Chase’s 14 valuable airline and hotel partners for a $95 annual fee. The Capital One Venture X Rewards Card has a $395 annual fee, less than those of more expensive competitors in the luxury space, and offers a 10,000-mile bonus every account anniversary. ©Capital One While Disney Visa cardholders have access to a litany of travel perks to visit Walt Disney World and other Disney destinations, those looking to travel beyond the House of Mouse may be better off looking into other card options. THE DAY IS HERE! Big Thunder Mountain Railroad has finally reopened in Magic Kingdom, and that means everyone is here to celebrate. Big Thunder Mountain is finally open! The ride has been closed for over a year while they updated the entire track and added new Rainbow Caverns, making the ride feel new while retaining the same nostalgia you grew up with. Now that the ride is finally open to the public, let’s check out the crowds for opening day of The Wildest Ride in the Wilderness. We headed straight to Froniterland, where there were already groups of people ready to ride. While this ride is not part of Early Entry, there were people already lined up, ready to enter the land. The ride is also part of Lightning Lane Multi Pass as a tier one attraction, so if you want to snag a pass during your trip, you’ll want to make sure to pick it as your first attraction. It’s likely going to sell out fast! Lightning Lane line Of course, we had to check out the wait times. Near the morning, wait times went as high as 145 minutes! 145 minute wait?! When we came, the line stretched far into the extended queue and wrapped completely around. It was going past the bridge you use when you’re crossing past Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. Literally everyone was trying to get on Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. Look how far back the line goes! We’re so excited that the ride is open again, and clearly so is everyone else! The ride has a brand-new track and new elements that guests (and us) can’t wait to see for the first time. We can’t wait!! It’s been a long time coming for this attraction to come back up and ato add another ride back in Magic Kingdom. Now, we have a long way to go before all of the construction is finished around Frontierland. Piston Peak, the Cars-themed land, will be coming to the old Tom Sawyer Island, and Villains Land is going in behind Big Thunder Mountain. Disney hasn’t announced when either of these lands will open, but you can be sure we’ll be here reporting every step of the way. ©Disney Make sure you keep following Disney Food Blog for more Disney news! Disney’s Hollywood Studios is not a casual park. Tower of Terror Magic Kingdom lets you wander around, eating popcorn and pretending your vacation personality is “whimsical.” EPCOT lets you make “snacking” a full-body identity. Animal Kingdom lets you commune with nature and then immediately abandon your morals for cheeseburger pods. But Hollywood Studios? Hollywood Studios looks you dead in the eyes at 7AM and says, “Choose wisely.” This park has Star Wars, Toy Story, Tower of Terror, Runaway Railway, Fantasmic!, a bunch of shows, several very sweaty bottlenecks, and enough Lightning Lane strategy to make your group chat start using military terminology. And now, with Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets opening on May 26th and a new Mandalorian and Grogu mission coming to Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run on May 22nd, the demand order is about to get rearranged like a toddler’s snack plate after a nap strike. Also, the brand new area, The Walt Disney Studios, begins to open in phases starting May 26, 2026. Hollywood Studios So, yes, we are going to talk about how to “guarantee” a perfect day in Disney’s Hollywood Studios in under five minutes. Do we mean legally, spiritually, or cosmically guarantee? No. We are Disney experts, not sorcerers with liability insurance. But we do visit the parks constantly. We test the systems. We watch the wait times. We stare into My Disney Experience like it owes us money. And we can tell you this: if you make the right Lightning Lane choices in those first few minutes, your Hollywood Studios day can go from “why are we standing in the sun questioning every life choice?” to “look at us, competent and moisturized.” Let’s go put our foot up in this strategy. Disney’s Hollywood Studios 2026 Lightning Lane Strategy First, Know the Game You’re Playing Lightning Lane is Disney World’s paid skip-the-line system. There are three versions: Lightning Lane Multi Pass, Lightning Lane Single Pass, and Lightning Lane Premier Pass. Multi Pass lets you choose up to three experiences and arrival windows in advance, Single Pass is used for select high-demand attractions not included in Multi Pass, and Premier Pass lets you use each available Lightning Lane entrance in one park once that day, without picking return times. The age old question – Lightning Lane or standby?? Eligible Disney Resort hotel guests and guests at select other hotels can purchase Lightning Lane passes up to 7 days before the first day of their stay, for their length of stay up to 14 days. Everyone else can purchase up to 3 days before their park visit, and booking opens at 7 AM Eastern Time. Tower of Terror Lightning Lane Translation? If your booking window opens at 7 AM, you should not be waking up at 6:59 AM with one eye crusted shut, trying to remember your Disney password while your coffee maker screams in the background. That is how mistakes happen. That is how you accidentally book Beauty and the Beast Live on Stage at 8:45 PM and call it “strategy. The Ultimate Guide to Eating in Disney’s Hollywood Studios The Hollywood Studios Lightning Lane Lineup Before you start tapping like a caffeinated woodpecker, you need to know what is actually in play. At Hollywood Studios, Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance is currently the Lightning Lane Single Pass attraction. That means it is not part of Multi Pass. If Rise is a must-do and you do not want to gamble with standby, this is the one you purchase separately. For Multi Pass, Hollywood Studios uses tiers when you book in advance. Frozen Sing Along Lightning Lane You can choose one from this first group: Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets, opening May 26 Slinky Dog Dash Slinky Dog Dash Lightning Lane Then you choose your other two, or all three, from this second group: Alien Swirling Saucers Beauty and the Beast Live on Stage For the First Time in Forever: A Frozen Sing-Along Celebration Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure Star Tours – The Adventures Continue Toy Story Mania! The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror Once you’re in the park and have used your first Multi Pass selection, those advance-booking tiers stop mattering for future selections. At that point, you can grab another available Multi Pass experience from either group, assuming the Disney app is feeling generous and not behaving like a haunted fax machine. The Full List of All 48 Disney World Attractions Included with Lightning Lane Right Now Your Five-Minute Mission The biggest mistake you can make is opening My Disney Experience at 7AM and then suddenly asking your family, “So what does everyone want to ride?” No. Absolutely not. That is how vacations develop side quests, resentment, and a man named Kevin yelling, “I thought we were doing Star Wars first!” in the hotel room. Star Tours Before your booking window opens, you need three things ready: Your must-do list Your “nice to have” list Your schedule conflicts, like dining reservations, nap breaks, and the hour when everyone becomes emotionally unavailable from heat and churro dust You are not trying to build a perfect day from scratch at 7AM. You are executing a plan. The New Procedures You Have to Follow in Disney’s Hollywood Studios Pre-May 26 Strategy: Slinky Is Still the Dog to Beat Before Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets opens, your top Tier 1 Multi Pass priority is probably still Slinky Dog Dash. Slinky Dog Dash has the lethal combination of being family-friendly, adorable, outdoors, and extremely popular. Slinky Dog Dash So, before May 26, here’s the cleanest move for most groups: Choose Slinky Dog Dash as your Tier 1 Multi Pass. Then choose Tower of Terror and Toy Story Mania! from Tier 2. That gives you a high-demand family coaster, one of the park’s biggest thrill rides, and a very popular Toy Story Land attraction locked in before your day even starts. That is called “being powerful.” Not in a scary way. More in a “has spreadsheets and sunscreen” way. Hey Buzz! If your group does not do thrill rides, swap Tower of Terror for The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure, Star Tours, or Frozen Sing-Along, depending on your crew. Tiny princess people? Mermaid or Frozen. Star Wars fans? Star Tours. People who want to sit in air-conditioning and be lightly roasted by animated Arendelle historians? Frozen. A classic. NEWS: Showtimes Announced for NEW Hollywood Studios Attraction The May 26 Earthquake May 26 is when Hollywood Studios gets extra spicy. ©Disney That day, Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets opens. The reimagined ride will send guests into the middle of The Electric Mayhem’s big night, with a new Muppets storyline, updated queue details, and music from The Electric Mayhem and friends. Also on May 26, Disney Jr. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live! debuts in Animation Courtyard, and the courtyard around the future Magic of Disney Animation begins transforming into “The Walt Disney Studios,” an outdoor area inspired by the Burbank studio lot. The Magic of Disney Animation itself is slated to arrive later in summer 2026. So no, May 26 is not just “the Muppets take over Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster.” It is also the start of a phased Animation Courtyard glow-up, with more family-friendly energy moving into that part of the park. And that matters. CONFIRMED: Every Opening Date Announced for Disney World in 2026 Post-May 26: Your New Demand Order Once Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets opens, expect it to become one of the hardest Hollywood Studios Lightning Lanes to grab, at least in the early weeks and likely through the summer. It is a thrill ride. It is a returning coaster. It is Muppets. It is new. It has Animal. That is a demand cocktail with a novelty rim. The New Muppets Car So after May 26, here is the likely priority order for many guests: Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets Slinky Dog Dash Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway Galaxy’s Edge But that is not the right order for everyone. Thrill seekers and Muppets fans should try for Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster first. Families with kids under the coaster’s height requirement should stick with Slinky Dog Dash or Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway. Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster has historically had a 48-inch height requirement, so it is not going to be the pick for every family. Star Wars fans visiting after May 22 may still want Smugglers Run first, especially if the new mission is the reason they are visiting. Families with very young kids may want Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway as the safer, no-height-requirement pick. Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway This is where Hollywood Studios gets annoying in the exact way only Hollywood Studios can. There may not be one “correct” Lightning Lane answer anymore. There will be a correct answer for YOUR group. We know. Rude of Disney to make us think before breakfast. Don’t Sleep on the Mando and Grogu Bump Even though Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster is the big May 26 Lightning Lane drama, Smugglers Run gets its own demand bump just a few days earlier. Beginning May 22, the ride adds a new mission featuring the Mandalorian and Grogu. That matters. Mandalorian and Grogu Smugglers Run has been around long enough that some repeat visitors have moved it down their priority list. But add Grogu? Add new destinations? Add a reason for Star Wars fans to say, “Actually, we need to ride it again for research”? Boom. Demand bump. Will Smugglers Run suddenly beat Slinky Dog Dash every day? Probably not consistently. Slinky has massive family appeal, and that little spring dog has been tormenting rope drop plans for years. ©Disney But in late May and early summer, Smugglers Run becomes a much stronger Lightning Lane contender than it was before. It may be especially smart for Star Wars-heavy groups who are buying the Rise of the Resistance Single Pass and want to stack their Galaxy’s Edge time without giving their vacation schedule the structural integrity of wet cardboard. A Hollywood Studios Ride Is CHANGING in One Month The Tier 2 Power Move Hollywood Studios’ Tier 2 group is sneaky. Some of these are easygoing shows. Some are legitimate time-savers. And one of them is Tower of Terror, just sitting there in Tier 2 like it didn’t casually become one of the best Multi Pass values in the park. Tower of Terror For most guests, Tower of Terror should be your first Tier 2 pick. It is popular, it can post long waits, and it gives you a big thrill ride without using your Tier 1 selection. That is the sort of loophole energy we respect. Your second Tier 2 pick should usually be Toy Story Mania! It is fun, competitive, air-conditioned, and ideal for families who enjoy discovering that Grandpa has terrifying aim and no mercy. Toy Story Mania After that, your backup Tier 2 priorities depend on your group. The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure is a strong choice for families, show fans, and anyone who wants a newer Hollywood Studios experience without standing in the sun contemplating existence. Star Tours is great for Star Wars fans and often useful as an additional same-day pick. Alien Swirling Saucers can be helpful for Toy Story Land-focused families, though it is not usually the first thing we’d grab unless your kid has made it their entire personality. Frozen Sing-Along, Beauty and the Beast, and Indiana Jones are solid, but they are usually easier to work into your day around showtimes unless crowds are wild or you have a very specific schedule. 5 Times You Should NEVER Buy Lightning Lanes in Disney World Rise of the Resistance Is Still Its Own Galactic Beast Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance is not part of Multi Pass. It is the Hollywood Studios Lightning Lane Single Pass attraction. So your decision is simple, but annoying: buy Single Pass for Rise, rope drop it, ride near park close, or accept that you may spend a chunk of your day in standby. Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance If Rise is your must-do, and you have the budget, buying the Single Pass is the cleanest option. It removes a huge variable from your day, and Hollywood Studios already has enough variables. We do not need to add “intergalactic operational chaos” to the itinerary unless absolutely necessary. If you are not buying Single Pass, then make Rise your rope drop priority or aim for later in the evening. Just know that you are taking on more risk, and Rise is famous for being both incredible and occasionally dramatic. Very Hollywood of her. New Rules for Rise of the Resistance That Disney Adults Are Begging For The Best Booking Order for Under Five Minutes Here is your no-nonsense Hollywood Studios booking script. Slinky Dog Dash will temporarily close with bad weather Before May 26: Buy Lightning Lane Multi Pass for Hollywood Studios. Book Slinky Dog Dash first. Book Tower of Terror second. Book Toy Story Mania! third. Buy Rise of the Resistance Single Pass if it is a must-do and in budget. Choose the earliest reasonable return time for at least one selection so you can unlock your next Multi Pass sooner once you tap in. We can’t wait to ride After May 26: Buy Lightning Lane Multi Pass for Hollywood Studios. Book Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets first if it is a must-do, you are visiting near opening, or your group loves thrill rides. Book Slinky Dog Dash first instead if your group is more family-ride focused or skipping intense coasters. Book Tower of Terror from Tier 2. Book Toy Story Mania! from Tier 2, or The Little Mermaid if your group prioritizes shows/newer offerings. Buy Rise of the Resistance Single Pass if you want Star Wars security instead of Star Wars roulette. Keep an eye on Smugglers Run, especially after May 22, because Grogu has entered the chat and people are not normal about that tiny green chaos dumpling. Use Your First Lightning Lane Early, But Don’t Get Weird About It One of the best ways to maximize Multi Pass is to use your first selection earlier in the day so you can start booking additional experiences. But do not throw away your best ride choice just to get a 9:15AM return time for something you barely care about. That is not strategy. That is panic wearing Mickey ears. Alien Swirling Saucers Ideally, you want one strong early return time and two high-value advance selections. If Slinky or Rock only has afternoon availability, take it anyway. Those are the rides that may disappear. Then try to make one of your Tier 2 picks earlier so you can tap in and start hunting for more. The goal is not perfection. The goal is controlled chaos with snacks. Don’t Forget Early Entry If you are staying at a Disney Resort hotel or another eligible hotel, Early Theme Park Entry can help you knock out a major ride before the park fully opens. Hollywood Studios Early Entry options, including Alien Swirling Saucers, Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway, Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run, Slinky Dog Dash, Star Tours, Rise of the Resistance, Tower of Terror, Toy Story Mania!, and Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets, once it opens. Runaway Railway A good Early Entry plan can reduce the pressure on your Lightning Lane picks. For example, if you can rope drop Slinky Dog Dash, maybe your first Tier 1 pick becomes Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster after May 26. If you buy Rise of the Resistance as a Single Pass, maybe your morning starts in Toy Story Land instead of Galaxy’s Edge. You see what we’re doing here? We’re not winging it. We’re winging it with structure. Fancy chaos. The “Oops, It’s Gone” Backup Plan Even Disney experts do not get everything every time. The app glitches. Return times move. Someone in your party suddenly can’t decide whether they want Tower of Terror because they “don’t like elevators,” which, respectfully, should have been disclosed during pre-trip screening. We love Buzz Lightyear! If your top pick is gone, here is the backup order: If Slinky is gone, grab Rock after May 26, Smugglers Run after May 22, or Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway. If Rock is gone after May 26, grab Slinky Dog Dash if available, then Smugglers Run, then Runaway Railway. If both Rock and Slinky are gone, do not spiral. Grab Smugglers Run or Runaway Railway, then adjust your rope drop plan. If Tower of Terror is gone, grab Toy Story Mania!, then Star Tours, Little Mermaid, or Alien Swirling Saucers depending on your group. If Toy Story Mania! is gone, grab Little Mermaid, Star Tours, or Alien Swirling Saucers. Then keep checking. People modify plans constantly. Lightning Lane availability can move around during the day, and refreshing the app is basically the new Disney fidget spinner. Lightning Lane Tips for the Most Crowded Days in Disney World and Disneyland A Sample “Perfect” Hollywood Studios Day Let’s say you are visiting after May 26 and want the shiny new stuff. You book Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets as your Tier 1 selection. You grab Tower of Terror and Toy Story Mania! from Tier 2. You buy Rise of the Resistance Single Pass because you are not interested in gambling with the First Order before lunch. Rise of the Resistance Entrance At rope drop, you head to Slinky Dog Dash or Smugglers Run, depending on your priorities. Then you use your first Lightning Lane as early as possible, book another Multi Pass, and build from there. You work in shows like Little Mermaid, Frozen Sing-Along, Indiana Jones, or Beauty and the Beast when your body starts making dial-up noises from the heat. You mobile order food before everyone becomes a hanger demon. You save Fantasmic! for the end of the night, because nothing says “we survived Hollywood Studios” like water screens, fireworks, and Mickey Mouse conducting emotional warfare in a dream cape. Fantasmic! That is a good day. That is a very good day. That is a day where you might not even mutter “never again” while leaving through the gift shops. How to Guarantee a Perfect Day in EPCOT in Under Five Minutes The point is not to dominate Disney World like a tiny vacation warlord. The point is to make your day easier, smoother, and less likely to involve someone dramatically whispering, “This was supposed to be fun.” One Man’s Dream We watch the trends. We test the plans. We do the park math so you do not have to become a spreadsheet gremlin at sunrise. So before your Hollywood Studios booking window opens, know your priorities, know your group, know what changes after May 26, and know which rides are most likely to vanish first. Then tap fast, stay calm, and remember: this is Disney World, not an international treaty negotiation. Although, frankly, getting a good Slinky Dog Dash return time can feel more politically delicate. Slinky Dog Dash We hope these tips help you have a magical day at Magic Kingdom! Thanks to a litany of discounted deals and a slew of new perks, including the return of free water park tickets, character appearances, and others associated with the Cool Kids’ Summer promotion, Disney World’s on-property hotels are looking to be crowded this summer. Closed for now However, those crowds are set to encounter various levels of construction and refurbishment across many of Disney’s most popular resorts. The Polynesian Village Let’s begin with arguably the most beloved resort on Walt Disney World property, the opening day original Polynesian Village Resort. Throughout the summer of 2026, several areas of Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort and the connected Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows are being refurbished. This work includes the reconfiguration of the front entrance roadway and bus area, which may affect some views of the theme parks and other surrounding areas, according to Disney. Polynesian construction In addition, the hotel’s boat dock will undergo routine maintenance from May 11th through late June. The dock will be closed, and boat transportation to Magic Kingdom park will be suspended from May 11 through June 5th. The boat dock Furthermore, two of the resort’s most popular eateries will also see some ripple effects from refurbishment work: Trader Sam’s Tiki Terrace will be closed from mid-April through late June due to refurbishment work at the Grand Ceremonial House. From April 23rd through late June, updates will be made to the exterior roofing at Wailulu Bar & Grill in the Island Tower at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. The restaurant will remain open during the work, offering walk-up service only until 5:00 PM, with seating from 5:00 PM until closing. Wailulu construction Dining Closures The pair of Polynesian restaurants isn’t the only hotel eatery that guests won’t be able to enjoy as usual this summer, as several will undergo refurbishments and closures. The Yacht Club Resort’s New England-themed Yachtsman Steakhouse will be closing in May for a refurbishment running through August. The closure comes on the heels of the associated Crew’s Cup Lounge, which closed on February 23rd for a refurbishment scheduled to end in May. Yachtsman Steakhouse Saratoga Springs has three Turf Club eateries, which will rotate refurbishments over the summer months: The Turf Club will be closed from April to August, while the Turf Club Bar & Grill remains open with a modified menu. The Turf Club Patio will have a brief closure from early through mid-August. Then, the Turf Club Bar & Grill will be closed from August into September, with the Turf Club Lounge remaining open. Turf Club Bar & Grill Finally, the Grand Floridian Cafe — naturally located at the Grand Floridian — is scheduled to be closed from July through October. During this period, the cafe’s brunch will be offered at Citricos. Grand Floridian Cafe In addition, the following resorts will be undergoing general maintenance and refurbishment projects that won’t see the closure of any restaurants or amenities, but may be visible and audible to guests: Fort Wilderness Meadow Swimmin’ pool construction: Through Mid-2026. Saratoga Springs Treehouse Villas refurbishment: Through September 2026. Boardwalk exterior refurbishment: Through Late 2026. Wilderness Lodge exterior refurbishment: late 2026. Yacht Club exterior maintenance: Late 2026. All-Star Movies refurb: May 2026 to January 2027. Animal Kingdom Lodge Jambo House refurb: May 2026 to January 2027. Grand Floridian Resort-Wide refurbishment, including the porte-cochère: Through Early 2027. Port Orleans room refurbishment: Through August 2027. Beach Club exterior refurbishment: Through Late 2027. Contemporary resort-wide refurbishment: Through Late 2027. Guests staying at these Walt Disney World hotels this summer should prepare to encounter — and perhaps have to plan around — some closures. Disney World has just begun its V.I.PASSHOLDER Summer Days in the parks, and that means there are TONS of perks out there for Annual Passholders to experience, but only from now through July 31st. Disney World Annual Pass There’s new merchandise available, tons of dining discounts to take advantage of, as well as some new snacks that are available JUST for Passholders. We headed over to World Showcase to try one of them out, and we’ll tell you one thing — if you love chocolate, you’ve GOT to snag this treat before it’s gone! Currently available at Karamell-Küche in the Germany Pavilion is none other than the Mickey Chocolate Cake Pop with Werther’s Original Caramel for $5.99. Despite the name, caramel isn’t the star of the show here, but we’re totally okay with that! Mickey Chocolate Cake Pop with Werther’s Original Caramel This is a very rich, deep, dark chocolate cake pop with a thin shell of chocolate on the outside, as well as a drizzle of caramel, complete with yellow sprinkles on top. This is a chocolate lover’s dream! It’s so rich and creamy, it honestly tastes like a truffle in our eyes. Yum! With that being said, kids may not like this due to how rich it is, and especially since it’s clearly dark chocolate rather than the sweeter milk chocolate. The caramel does pair wonderfully and helps to lighten that flavor a bit, but overall, you’ve really got to love dark chocolate to enjoy this treat. If you do, though, you’ll dream about it for days to come. It’s rich, but we love that! Other special Passholder perks available during this summer season are: Access to the exclusive Annual Passholder lounge in Morocco Annual Passholder merchandise collection Discounts at select Disney World restaurants (up to 40% off at some!) Special EPCOT meet and greet New Passholder magnet So much more! Chip ‘n’ Dale at the Annual Passholder meet and greet! Looking for more recent Disney World Annual Passholder news? This week is about to be a BIG one in Disney World, because one of the BIGGEST closures will finally go away! ©Disney That’s right, this week is FINALLY the time when one of Magic Kingdom‘s most popular attractions reopens for visitors. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad will reopen its doors to the public on May 3rd, and we couldn’t be more excited. The best part? That’s not the ONLY ride that took some big steps forward this week! This past week, Disney also revealed some more information about the changes made to the background and storyline of Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, and we highly suggest reading through it before you ride to get the full picture. We can’t wait to see the new lighting, effects, and really look closely for all those details. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad However, many other closures are continuing in Disney World this week, so if you’re traveling, let’s take a look at the other closures taking place from May 1st through May 8th. Magic Kingdom Storybook Circus Pete’s Silly Sideshow is temporarily unavailable as of January 4th, 2026. This is the Storybook Circus meet and greet area, where you can meet Donald Duck, Goofy, Daisy Duck, and Minnie Mouse as they join the circus. Good news, though! While Pete’s Silly Sideshow will be closed, you can still meet all of the characters! You will find Goofy and Minnie at the entrance to Storybook Circus, and you can find Donald and Daisy in the back of Storybook Circus by the restrooms. Pete’s Silly Sideshow However, now there’s ANOTHER closure in the land as well. Big Top Souvenirs closed on February 20th, and Disney has said it’ll “reopen for guests to enjoy later this year,” but there’s no date in sight. When we stopped by recently, we noticed that the entire top of the store is GONE right now! Talk about a jumpscare! The tent disappeared! We’re really curious to see how this all turns out, so we’ll keep you updated! Liberty Square Riverboat and Tom Sawyer Island An iconic part of the Magic Kingdom is now permanently closed. As of July 7th, 2025, the Rivers of America, including the Liberty Square River Boat and Tom Sawyer Island, are permanently closed to make way for the new Cars area, Piston Peak. There are lots of construction walls up in the area now, and the structures on Tom Sawyer Island have been demolished. Most recently, we saw some updates to the concrete on the land, as well as leveling taking place for the new attractions — how exciting! Piston Peak construction Piston Peak National Park will be replacing this area of Magic Kingdom. Disney has not yet announced an opening date for the new Cars area, but we do know it will feature two brand-new attractions and be themed to look like a National Park. Why You Should AVOID Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party on This Random Friday Disney’s Hollywood Studios Vacation Fun Disney just recently announced that Vacation Fun, the short film that plays throughout the day in the Mickey Shorts Theater, will close for refurbishment beginning on April 29th. Vacation Fun Fortunately, the closure won’t last long, as Disney revealed the reason is that the theater will host a special May 4th Star Wars merchandise event. We can assume this means that experience will open on May 4th, but it’s unclear when the regular theater showings will resume. Animation Courtyard Animation Courtyard closed on September 25th, 2025, to make way for Walt Disney Studios. This new area will open on May 26th, 2026, and will be a special nod to the Walt Disney Studios lot. Star Wars Launch Bay will be turned into The Magic of Disney Animation. This attraction will have you interacting and exploring with this fun take on Disney Animation headquarters, complete with the return of the Sorcerer Mickey hat! Mickey’s Sorcerer Hat is back! However, most recently, we’ve seen a lot of progress on this upcoming land — new pavement is almost all set, and it’s really starting to come together. This area will also feature a new Drawn to Wonderland indoor play area and the current Disney Jr. Play and Dance! show will be getting a makeover. It’ll turn into Disney Jr. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live, and we just recently got confirmed showtimes for the new experience, which will open on May 26th. Some of the walls have also recently been taken down, revealing more of the courtyard area! Muppets Courtyard Muppet*Vision 3D and PizzeRizzo closed on June 8th, 2025, and Muppets Courtyard has been walled off for construction on the new Monsters, Inc. land. Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano has been closed since May 11th, 2025. Most recently, we saw FOUR permits filed for different buildings inside this area, which is quite exciting. We also recently got some more aerial photos of the upcoming suspended roller coaster, which looks fantastic so far. ©Bioreconstruct Don’t worry, the Muppets won’t be missing from Disney’s Hollywood Studios forever. The Muppets will be taking over Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster this summer! Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets will open on May 26th, 2026! This new ride will feature iconic Muppets like Kermit, Miss Piggy, and Gonzo, plus a brand-new soundtrack featuring Def Leppard, Kelly Clarkson, and Jennifer Hudson! Most recently, we’ve seen a lot of work being done on the guitar, which is now rainbow… Looking great! …and the front entrance is now painted gray/silver and has a new G-Force Records sign! Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets Disney has already made tons of progress on the new version of this iconic attraction! The previous name of the ride has already been removed from multiple locations, including on the guitar, which is now behind the scrim and scaffolding. Disney is also already putting new paint on the car at the entrance to this area to transform it into the Electric Mayhem’s iconic van! Most recently, we also got a look at the queue area for the new ride, which has us very excited. ©Disney Disney also recently announced Cast Member previews for this ride, which will begin on May 6th! The New Procedures You Have to Follow in Disney’s Hollywood Studios EPCOT Refreshment Port Refreshment Port located near the Canada Pavilion in EPCOT’s World Showcase closed for refurbishment on January 12th. We’ve heard nothing on it for months, but now, we know that when it reopens, it’ll become La Poutinerie! La Poutinerie Concept Art ©Disney The spot will be sponsored by Air Canada, and promises to deliver “a Canadian classic with a twist.” Disney hasn’t announced an opening date or a menu, but we’re hoping our favorite poutine will come back any day now! Beauty and the Beast Sing-Along and Impressions De France For weeks now, Beauty and the Beast Sing-Along and Impressions De France have been closed in the France Pavilion, but now we’ve got a reopening date! Beauty and the Beast Sing-Along and Impressions de France Theater Both shows will return to the park beginning on May 10th. An EXCLUSIVE New Disney World Freebie Just Dropped! Disney’s Animal Kingdom Rafiki’s Planet Watch On February 23rd, Disney temporarily closed Rafiki’s Planet Watch and the Wildlife Express, which takes guests over to this part of the park, to make way for the new Bluey attraction coming to the park for Cool KIDS’ SUMMER on May 26th. For the time being, you can still visit the Wilderness Explorer badge offerings, as well as a few character meet and greets, at the train station. Rafiki’s Planet Watch is officially closed Bluey’s Wild World will become a permanent addition to the park, where you can meet Bluey and Bingo, play games with them, and even pet animals from Australia in the petting zoo, Jumping Junction! DinoLand, USA On February 2nd, DinoLand, USA officially closed to make way for the new Tropical Americas land, Pueblo Esperanza. Most recently, a new permit was filed for the new Encanto ride to install set elements, and nine new permits were filed today for electrical work. ©Disney || Tropical Americas Land coming to Animal Kingdom This new land is shaping up nicely! It will have three new rides – a carousel featuring classic Disney animals, an Indiana Jones ride where you’ll explore a Mayan temple, and an Encanto ride that invites you into the Madrigal’s home! Most recently, we saw two new permits filed for the upcoming Indiana Jones ride! Disney World Animal Kingdom Lightning Lane Strategy for 2026 Typhoon Lagoon On February 15th, 2026, Blizzard Beach reopened in Disney World, and Typhoon Lagoon closed for refurbishment. Typhoon Lagoon will reopen again on May 12th, 2026! Typhoon Lagoon For the majority of the summer, we’ll have both water parks open again. Typhoon Lagoon is Disney’s oldest water park with fun for both kids and kids-at-heart, plus one of the largest wave pools in the world. It’s themed to be a tropical paradise that just survived a typhoon. A Word of Warning for the First Day at Your Disney World Hotel Disney World Hotels Kiddie Pool Deck — Disney’s Pop Century Resort Disney recently announced that the Kiddie Pool Deck at Disney’s Pop Century Resort will close for refurbishment beginning April 13th. Kiddie Pool Deck The previous timeline for reopening was the end of April, but now the Disney World website lists that the closure will begin on May 4th and continue through mid-May. Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa This hotel has been undergoing refurbishments for quite some time now, but some sections of the hotel — specifically the porte cochere — will continue to undergo refurbishment through at least early 2027. Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort We certainly hope it’ll actually reopen on this timeline — we’re a little tired of seeing construction all over this beautiful hotel! Bay Cove Pool Area — Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort The Bay Cove Pool, the water play area, and the whirlpool spa at Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort are temporarily closed for maintenance. Bay Cove Pool construction sign From January 26th through early May 2026, the pool area will be unavailable. During the closure, guests can still use the Bay Lake Pool, the feature pool, the water play area, and the whirlpool spa at Disney’s Contemporary Resort. Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort For those looking to dine at this hotel, you need to know that the Turf Club Bar & Grill and Turf Club Lounge will both be under refurbishment from mid-March through mid-September 2026. Turf Club Bar & Grill In early April, the Turf Club Lounge will close for refurbishment and will reopen in early August. In the meantime, the Turf Club Bar & Grill will remain open with a pop-up bar serving a modified Lounge food and beverage menu. Then, from early to mid-August, the Turf Club patio will close for refurbishment, and finally, from mid-August through mid-September, the Turf Club Bar & Grill will be closed for refurbishment, but the Turf Club Lounge will be open. Leisure Pools — Disney’s Yacht Club Resort and Disney’s Beach Club Resort Disney’s Yacht Club and Disney’s Beach Club Resort are currently undergoing visible exterior maintenance. The maintenance could affect views and may require alternate routes at times. In addition, two of the resort’s leisure pools will close for routine maintenance. Tidal Pool At Disney’s Yacht Club, the Admiral leisure be will be closed for maintenance through early May 2026. At Disney’s Beach Club, the Tidal leisure pool will be closed for maintenance through early May 2026. Guests may see or hear construction work, but it will only be done during the daytime hours. Crew’s Cup Lounge — Disney’s Yacht Club Resort On February 23rd, Crew’s Cup Lounge closed for refurbishment and will reopen on June 1st, 2026. Yachtsman Steakhouse Additionally, Yachtsman Steakhouse will close for refurbishment on May 11th, meaning these closures will overlap for a few weeks. It’s expected to reopen sometime in early August. Every once in a while, we notice a trend happening in food and drinks in Disney World because it seems like almost every other restaurant is offering something with a certain flavor or a certain kind of food. Remember the whole flavored croissant trend? Yep, we were there for that. New cookie! Well, right now, we’re seeing a NEW flavor trend, and we’ve seen it previously at The Cake Bake Shop. The trend is mixing blueberry and lemon flavors (which is honestly a very summery thing). Well, now, Gideon’s Bakehouse in Disney Springs has jumped on the trend with a brand new cookie. Meet the Blueberry Lemonade Cookie. It’s made with a sweet blueberry-lemon mixture on a cookie topped with yogurt mini chips, agave crunch, and blueberry sugar for $6.50. First, you’re getting a cookie that weighs almost a half pound, so it’s absolutely a good value. What you’re also getting is a cookie with bursts of blueberry goodness with a slight tartness from the lemon. The two flavors together? Well, they’re DIVINE. Blueberry Lemonade Cookie You also get a cookie that crumbles really easily, BUT there’s a good reason for it. That’s because this cookie LOADED down with actual blueberries. They’re just ALL up in it. So make sure you keep a napkin nearby to catch those crumbs. It’s such a fun snack, especially if you like the sweet and sour flavor combo. There are actual blueberries in it! So, yes, Gideon’s has done it again, and we’ll be running back to Disney Springs to grab another one of these babies as soon as we can. It’s going to be available all month, so don’t miss out! We’ll keep an eye out for more new snacks in Disney World, so stay tuned to DFB for more. Don’t miss out on the best snacks Disney World has to offer! We’ve tried every single snack in the parks, and you can read all about EVERY one in the Disney World Snacks Guide! Dapper Day in EPCOT, Pictured: @tymaxham We have found some of the best-dressed folks to spotlight and show the Dapper Day magic and charm! Let’s dive into all these iconic outfits! Dapper Day is an iconic Disney event where guests dress vintage, like those visiting Disneyland when it opened may have dressed! So we have lots of fun ’50s style, and sometimes some fun Disneybounding outfits worked in! @girl.no.life on Instagram This event happens twice a year, and the Spring Outing is happening today, May 2nd, at EPCOT, and tomorrow, May 3rd, at Animal Kingdom! SO let’s see some of the best-dressed folks we’ve found around the parks today! Dapper Day! First up is this iconic trio dressed as Tinker Bell, Olaf, and Anna. We are obsessed with this classy and subtle take on some of our favorite Disney characters. Also, the little details, like the pom poms on the sneakers, look like Tinker Bell’s shoes. Top tier! @curiouser.chelsea @theindependentsprinkle @spencerfinds Then we found a group dressed in the fancy version of Riley’s emotions, which is so creative and fun. Here we have Ennui, Anxiety, Fear, Disgust, and Anger. Plus, they each have their very own memory orb. We love the attention to detail! @omg_jasii18 Then we ran into this absolutely breathtaking trio! Those colors and details are perfect. This level of effort and creativity is exactly what Dapper Day is all about. @yourhostesswiththemostest Last up, we have another amazing spring look. Some BIG changes just happened in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in Disneyland. Leia and Han Solo Disney has decided to scrap the one basic timeline that was originally set up for the planet of Batuu, which placed events in the land between Star Wars: The Last Jedi and Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. Now, granted, characters NOT in that timeline have already been appearing in the land, like Ahsoka, the Mandalorian and Grogu, and more. But now original trilogy characters like Darth Vader, Luke, Leia, and Han Solo are appearing in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. So now we have to ask…what do Disney fans think about it? So is this new timeline weird for Star Wars fans? Does it make the land feel different, odd, or off? Well, according to our reporters, it isn’t weird at all. In fact, it seems like almost everyone who’s experienced the changes is pretty much behind it, and some even commented about the original trilogy music now being played in the land (which is also a first for Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge). It feels like new life has been brought back to the area. Darth Vader in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge It also makes the land a little more accessible for more casual Star Wars fans or those folks who don’t see themselves as fans, but still know these characters. The truth is, when Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge first opened, many people complained that the area didn’t include some of the most famous characters in the history of the franchise. So there are a lot of Disney fans who feel like this is how Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge should have been all along. Leia and Chewbacca We’ve also looked at some of the comments of DFB readers, who also seem to think this is a good thing for the land. Disney GlennB even said on Facebook, “WDW fans are jealous.” We have seen comments from those who would like to see these changes make their way to Florida. Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in Disney World Over on Instagram, @symbolofthes said, “This makes me so happy and want to cry.” Several of Instagram commenters wanted the changes brought over to Disney World, and we’ll be curious to see if that happens or not. This could end up just being one of those things that makes the two lands different on each coast. These characters are popular! Okay, so here’s the BIG question I know you ALL want to ask. What do I think? It’s no secret that I’m a huge Star Wars fan, and I hate to admit that my opinion doesn’t align with almost everyone else’s. I like the idea of keeping the timeline intact in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge because it allows for more immersion in a story, whereas now it feels like Batuu is just another land based around something more random. I might have appreciated these changes more if the entire timeline of Batuu itself had been changed, but then both rides in the land would be out of sync with the timeline since they take place during the sequels. Rise of the Resistance For me, it doesn’t make sense to have Imperial Troopers and First Order Troopers at the same time, and if I think about it too hard, it makes my head hurt. I’m also worried the new music takes something away from those native Batuu sounds you used to hear when you visited the land. But I’m not sure what Disney could have done here to keep fans happy either way, and I’m sure the changes will grow on me when I next visit Disneyland. Maybe I’m completely wrong. Maybe seeing Luke and Leia there will soften my hardened heart. We’ll keep an eye out for more Disney and Star Wars news, so stay tuned to DFB for more. GUYS. If you’ve ever wanted to go for a ride in an Iron Man suit (and, seriously, who doesn’t?) Disney is currently working on the next best thing. Want to fly like Iron Man? Disneyland is getting an unprecedented expansion to Avengers Campus in Disney California Adventure, and that expansion will include two new rides, including Stark Flight Lab, which will simulate what a ride in Iron Man’s suit might be like. Well, thanks to KTLA, we now have a new look at that ride. A new aerial photo shows that Stark Flight Lab’s exterior is almost complete. The structure is located south of Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission Breakout and next to Radiator Springs Racers. Here’s what construction on the project looks like now: ©KTLA Inside will be one of Disney’s most ambitious rides to date. Disney combined two ride systems that have never been put together before to create the new ride. It will begin on a chassis that moves up and down a track, which will take riders to Tony Stark’s lab. There, the ride vehicle will separate from that track and then attach to a massive robot arm, which will lift riders up to simulate a flight in the Iron Man suit. ©Disney There will be a total of 12 robot arms working together, which will bring the experience to life. The arms themselves are similar to the technology used in Universal Studios’ Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey. Thanks to a comment by Robert Downey Jr., who is returning as Tony Stark for the attraction, the ride’s Imagineering team used motion-capture data from dancers so that the robots had more fluid motion. ©Disney But that’s not the only new attraction coming to Avengers Campus. Another ambitious attraction, Avengers Infinity Defense, will send riders on an adventure through the multiverse to jump between worlds and take on King Thanos, who is causing chaos throughout those worlds. ©Disney Meanwhile, Disney is also building a new Coco boat ride behind Incredicoaster, as well as an Avatar-themed land on what was once the Hollywood Backlot area. Construction on that land will permanently close Monsters, Inc. Mike & Sulley to the Rescue! in 2027. We’ll keep an eye out for more Disney ride updates, so stay tuned to DFB for more. We need to have a very honest conversation about Loungefly bags. ©Loungefly Do we need another one? Probably not. Do we already own at least one mini backpack that is somehow both too small for a sweatshirt and large enough to collect 47 receipts, a melted lip balm, three snack wrappers, and emotional baggage? Absolutely. Are we still going to stop scrolling the second BoxLunch drops new Disney Loungeflys and start whispering, “Well, that one is different”? Yes. Yes, we are. DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission. Because BoxLunch just released a new batch of Disney Loungefly mini backpacks, and the lineup is doing what Loungefly does best: targeting very specific corners of our Disney-loving souls with suspicious accuracy. We’ve got stained glass drama. We’ve got Kakamora chaos. We’ve got Tinker Bell florals. We’ve got Toy Story 5 bags. We’ve got an actual plush Machiavelli cat backpack because apparently, subtlety packed up and moved to Portorosso. So yes, this is another Loungefly post. And yes, we are all still here, reading it and clicking “add to cart” like feral raccoons with credit cards. Let’s get into the damage. The Hunchback of Notre Dame Stained Glass Windows Mini Backpack First up is the Loungefly Disney The Hunchback of Notre Dame Character Stained Glass Windows Mini Backpack, a BoxLunch Exclusive that feels tailor-made for the Disney fan who prefers their accessories with a side of cathedral-level emotional weight. ©BoxLunch This bag features characters from The Hunchback of Notre Dame in a stained-glass-inspired design, which means it has that dramatic, jewel-toned, “I own a candle snuffer and strong opinions about underrated Disney soundtracks” energy. ©BoxLunch This one is for the Disney fan who can’t hear “God Help the Outcasts” without needing to stare out a rain-streaked window for a while. It’s elegant, a little moody, and exactly the kind of bag that says, “Yes, I am here for churros, but I also contain layers.” view ON BOXLUNCH Moana Kakamora Allover Print Mini Backpack Next, we have the Loungefly Disney Moana Kakamora Allover Print Mini Backpack, another BoxLunch Exclusive. You know the Kakamora. Those tiny coconut pirates from Moana who show up with big Mad Max toddler energy and absolutely no interest in peaceful conflict resolution. Naturally, they belong on a backpack. ©BoxLunch This is a great pick for the Disney fan who likes their accessories playful, weird, and just chaotic enough to start conversations in the Lightning Lane. It’s not the most princess-y Moana bag out there, and that’s the point. This is for the person who saw the Kakamora scene and thought, “Honestly? Relatable.” ©BoxLunch It’s also a sneaky fun park bag because all-over prints tend to hide the little signs of theme park battle: popcorn dust, sunscreen smudges, and whatever mysterious residue appears after carrying snacks for eight hours. view ON BOXLUNCH The Rescuers Down Under Embroidered Mini Backpack The Loungefly Disney The Rescuers Down Under Embroidered Mini Backpack is also a BoxLunch Exclusive, and this one is for a very specific crowd: the people who have been patiently waiting for more Rescuers Down Under merch while Disney keeps acting like Bernard and Miss Bianca didn’t carry an entire generation. ©BoxLunch This bag leans into embroidered detailing, which gives it a little more texture and polish than a standard printed design. It’s cute, nostalgic, and just obscure enough to make fellow Disney fans do a double-take. ©BoxLunch If you’re the type of person who loves a deep-cut Disney reference, this one might be calling your name. Not screaming. Not yodeling. Politely tapping you on the shoulder in a tiny trench coat. view ON BOXLUNCH Pixar Toy Story 5 Characters Mini Backpack The Loungefly Disney Pixar Toy Story 5 Characters Mini Backpack is here, and apparently, the Toy Story 5 merch train has already left the station, waving a tiny plastic cowboy hat out the window. ©BoxLunch This one is great for the fan who wants a newer Pixar bag that still feels attached to a classic franchise. Toy Story has been part of Disney culture for decades now, which means this bag has multi-generational appeal. Kids love the characters. Millennials are emotionally attached. Parents are pretending they’re buying it for someone else. Sure, sure. For the child. Of course. ©BoxLunch This bag is likely to be a strong pick for park days, movie fans, and anyone who still hears “You’ve Got a Friend in Me” and immediately becomes 40% more sentimental. view ON BOXLUNCH Peter Pan Tinker Bell Floral Allover Print Mini Backpack The Loungefly Disney Peter Pan Tinker Bell Floral Allover Print Mini Backpack is a BoxLunch Exclusive, and it feels like it was designed for the person who wants Disney magic without looking like they were attacked by a fireworks finale. ©BoxLunch Tinker Bell bags can sometimes go full glitter cannon, but a floral allover print gives this one a softer, more wearable vibe. It still says, Disney. It still says Never Land. It just says it while sipping iced tea in a botanical garden and judging everyone’s life choices. ©BoxLunch This is a good option for someone who wants a Loungefly they can wear outside the parks without immediately signaling, “Ask me about my rope drop strategy.” It’s whimsical, feminine, and probably very dangerous to anyone who owns more than one pair of mouse ears. view ON BOXLUNCH Toy Story 5 Jessie, Woody, and Buzz Multi-Pocket Mini Backpack Now we need to talk about the Disney Pixar Toy Story 5 Jessie, Woody, and Buzz Multi-Pocket Mini Backpack. Multi-pocket. That phrase matters. That phrase speaks to the theme park adult who has been personally victimized by digging through one giant backpack compartment while their mobile order window expires and a child asks for a snack with the urgency of a Victorian orphan. ©BoxLunch A multi-pocket mini backpack gives you at least the illusion of organization, and sometimes that’s enough. Lip balm here. Hand sanitizer there. Portable charger in one pocket. Emergency fruit snacks in another. The dream. This one is especially fun for Toy Story fans who want the big three together: Jessie, Woody, and Buzz. It’s nostalgic, colorful, and useful enough that you can pretend this was a practical decision. ©BoxLunch We support the delusion. view ON BOXLUNCH The Little Mermaid Ariel Iridescent Pearl Mini Backpack The Loungefly Disney The Little Mermaid Ariel Iridescent Pearl Mini Backpack is for everyone who likes their Disney bags shiny enough to catch sunlight from three lands away. This bag sounds like pure Ariel-core: iridescent, pearly, oceanic, and probably one seashell away from becoming sentient. It’s very much for the Disney fan who wants a bag that feels pretty, mermaid-y, and a little extra. ©BoxLunch Would this be subtle? Absolutely not. Ariel traded her voice for legs and then got married on a boat. She has never been subtle in her life. This one could be especially cute for Disney Cruise Line outfits, Magic Kingdom days, EPCOT festival strolls, or anyone whose personal style can best be described as “sparkly sea treasure with snacks inside. view ON BOXLUNCH Luca Machiavelli Plush Figural Mini Backpack And finally, we have the Loungefly Disney Pixar Luca Machiavelli Plush Figural Mini Backpack. Machiavelli. As a plush figural backpack. ©BoxLunch This is not a bag for people who like to blend in. This is a bag for people who walk into a room and understand that sometimes the accessory needs to be the main character. Machiavelli, the suspicious little cat from Luca, already has the energy of a retired nonna who has seen too much and trusts no one. Turning him into a plush backpack feels spiritually correct. ©BoxLunch This is probably the most delightfully unhinged option in the lineup, and we mean that as a compliment. It’s weird. It’s cute. It’s Pixar. It’s a cat. It’s plush. It has “I make excellent financial decisions” written nowhere on it, which is rude but fair. ©BoxLunch If you collect figural Loungeflys, cat merch, or Luca items, this may be the one that climbs directly into your cart and refuses to leave. view ON BOXLUNCH Listen, nobody said Loungefly collecting was a rational hobby. It’s not a retirement plan. It’s not hydration. It’s not something your accountant is going to applaud while gently dabbing away a tear. But it is fun. ©BoxLunch And if your Disney style involves wearing your favorite movies, characters, and oddly specific emotional attachments on your back, BoxLunch’s newest Loungefly lineup has plenty to tempt you. Whether you’re looking for something pretty, nostalgic, chaotic, sparkly, or just aggressively adorable, these eight new bags are ready to wreck your willpower with a tiny zipper pocket and a whole lot of personality. So go ahead. Browse responsibly. Or don’t. We’re not your fairy godmother. We’re always on the hunt for the latest and greatest Disney souvenirs and essentials, so don’t forget to stay tuned to the Disney Food Blog for more! View the full article

2027 is shaping up to be one of the biggest years in Disney parks history, and the full scope of what’s coming is almost hard to believe. Guests will soon be able to experience an all-new Spider-Man themed coaster coming to Shanghai Disneyland. We’re talking about brand-new lands, reimagined classics, and entirely fresh rides opening at Disney parks across the globe, from Orlando to Paris to Tokyo. This isn’t the usual trickle of refurbishments and soft updates. This is a genuine, park-by-park wave of new attractions, and if you’re the type of person who plans Disney trips around openings, now is the time to start paying very close attention. Before we dive in, here’s a big disclaimer: everything on this list is currently expected to open in 2027, but Disney timelines can and do shift. Some of these have confirmed windows. Others are based on strong indications from Disney and credible reporting. Plans change, construction timelines stretch, and what’s targeted for 2027 today could slip into 2028 tomorrow. With that said, let’s look at what’s on the board right now. Walt Disney World Encanto Attraction (Animal Kingdom) The Madrigal family is finally getting a ride, and it’s coming to the all-new Tropical Americas land at Animal Kingdom. Pueblo Esperanza construction This ride puts guests inside the Casita after Antonio receives his gift, transforming his room into a rainforest. It’ll be a dark ride format, which means the whole family can experience it together. Tropical Americas Honestly, the potential for gorgeous visuals here is through the roof, and the “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” crowd is going to love it. Indiana Jones Adventure (Animal Kingdom) Indy is also headed to Tropical Americas, replacing the beloved but retired DINOSAUR attraction. Tropical Americas In this new storyline, Indiana Jones travels to a Mayan temple after hearing rumors of a mythical creature, and guests come along for the journey. A new Indiana Jones ride at Disney World has been a wish-list item for years, so this one’s a big deal. Tropical Americas Wood-Carved Carousel (Animal Kingdom) Rounding out the land is a Disney animal-themed carousel sitting inside the central village of Pueblo Esperanza, which will also feature one of Disney World’s biggest quick-service restaurants. Pueblo Esperanza Carousel Concept Art ©Disney It’s the kind of charming, all-ages addition that fills out a land and makes it feel complete rather than like just a collection of headliners. Coaster (Hollywood Studios) Disney’s Hollywood Studios is preparing a brand-new Monstropolis-themed land, and its centerpiece is what would be Disney Parks’ first-ever suspended coaster. ©bioreconstruct The ride reportedly features a vertical lift before sending guests through the door vault and into the monster factory. A specific 2027 opening hasn’t been officially locked in, so keep watching this one, but all signs point to a 2027 arrival being the target. Take a closer look at the new Monsters, Inc. Land here! Disney California Adventure There’s no firm confirmation on timing here, but the DCA Avengers Campus expansion may open in 2027. Avengers Campus construction A new Avatar-inspired destination is also making its way to Disney California Adventure, and the broader Marvel expansion at Avengers Campus continues to develop. Both projects are ones we’re watching closely, though neither has an officially confirmed 2027 date locked in. Disneyland Paris (Disney Adventure World) The Lion King Ride This is one of the most ambitious Disney attractions in development right now. Guests will descend into the caves beneath a 120-foot-high Pride Rock and embark on a water flume adventure told through iconic Lion King songs, state-of-the-art special effects, and advanced Audio-Animatronics. The Lion King land coming to Disneyland Paris The ride features three distinct slopes, culminating in a 50-foot descent, making it one of the bigger thrill rides at the park. There’s no confirmed 2027 date yet, but the project is well underway and widely expected to debut that year. Wilderness Explorers Sky Swings This Up-themed flying carousel ride, officially named Wilderness Explorers Sky Swings, was confirmed by Disneyland Paris for a 2027 opening. ©Disney Guests earn their “Aviation” badge alongside Russell and the Wilderness Explorers while riding in a tilting dome carousel that offers sweeping views of the surrounding park. It’s the first-ever Up-themed ride in any Disney park, and the theming sounds genuinely delightful. Tokyo Disney Resort Space Mountain (Reimagined) Tokyo Disneyland is completely rebuilding Space Mountain, and this is far more than a simple update. ©Disney The attraction will feature a new ride system, updated effects, and a refreshed story, along with a redesigned surrounding area. Tokyo Disney is known for its attention to detail, so expectations here are extremely high. The current target sits around 2027. Wreck-It Ralph Ride The Wreck-It Ralph attraction at Tokyo Disneyland is an interactive shooting ride that replaces Buzz Lightyear’s Astro Blasters, with a spring 2027 opening expected. ©Disney Guests join Ralph and Vanellope to take on King Candy’s Sugar Bugs inside the candy-themed world of Sugar Rush. Hong Kong Disneyland Hong Kong Disneyland is expanding its Stark Expo area in Tomorrowland with a brand-new Spider-Man attraction, and based on concept art, it’s going to be a big one. Peter Parker has landed an internship at Stark Industries, and when Doctor Octopus shows up to steal the tech, it’s up to Spider-Man to save the day. ©Disney The ride vehicle appears similar to a drop tower style experience, and concept art also teases appearances from Thor, Doctor Strange, and Black Panther. The expansion will also bring new dining, shopping, and entertainment to the area. There’s no locked-in opening date yet, but late 2026 or early 2027 is the current working expectation. Shanghai Disneyland Shanghai Disneyland is getting its first-ever Marvel attraction, and it’s going to be a high-energy Spider-Man coaster. Guests will soon be able to experience an all-new Spider-Man themed coaster coming to Shanghai Disneyland. Disney broke ground on the project in 2025, and the new Spider-Man land will sit right next to Zootopia Land, which opened in late 2023 and has already earned a reputation as one of the most technically impressive things Disney has ever built. The coaster promises a fully immersive, high-speed experience, and a 2027 opening is currently the working target. The Bottom Line 2027 is going to require some serious trip-planning strategy. Whether you’re a Walt Disney World regular, an international park enthusiast, or you’ve always wanted a reason to finally get to Tokyo Disneyland, there’s something on this list that belongs on your travel radar. Just remember that Disney’s timeline is always subject to change, so the best approach is to stay informed and stay flexible. One of the best reasons to stay at a Disney World hotel is all of the perks that you receive during your stay, especially free transportation! The boat dock at Wilderness Lodge All Disney Resorts provide bus transportation to and from the parks; however, some resorts offer additional transportation options as well. And one of the most popular modes of transportation is officially open again at Wilderness Lodge! Guests at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge have the opportunity to take a boat to and from Magic Kingdom. This is one of the most fun forms of Disney Transportation. The docks have been closed since April 13, so guests have missed this major perk of staying at the hotel. Wilderness Lodge Dock However, the dock refurbishment is over, and the boats are once again traveling to and from the park! But the reopening has not been as smooth as expected. Dock Refurbishment Currently, only one of the two docks is open and operating. We spoke to the Watercraft Cast Members, and they informed us that they are having issues with the lighting of the dock, so they are currently operating with temporary lights as they continue to work on the electricity. Working on the dock! This lighting issue is under the dock, so unfortunately, they have had to reopen a few sections to continue working. Currently, the Magic Kingdom boat is running. However, despite part of the dock currently being worked on, the Cast Members are confident that the other boat should be able to start running to Fort Wilderness and the Contemporary later today. Which boat are you taking? Which is another major perk of this transportation! Guests can take this boat to more than just the Magic Kingdom. The boats also run to the Contemporary Resort and Fort Wilderness Campgrounds. This allows guests to resort hop and enjoy the offerings of some other resorts. For example, you could grab dinner and drinks at Steakhouse 71 or California Grill at the Contemporary. California Grill at Disney’s Contemporary Resort Or float over to Fort Wilderness, where you can have dinner at the hootin’ and hollerin’ Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue! This additional transportation is an incredible perk of staying at Wilderness Lodge, and we are so happy it has returned for guests to enjoy, and hopefully, both sides will be operational by later today!
