Are you looking to make your long-haul flight more enjoyable? ©Air New Zealand Not every flight upgrade has to be to first class to be comfortable. In recent years, many airlines have experimented with more legroom, new types of seats, and moderate-level upgrades. We recently tried out one of those offerings — let’s talk about the Skycouch. Air New Zealand is now offering a feature called the Economy Skycouch. What is this? Their website describes Skycouch as “just like standard Economy seats, except each has an adjustable leg rest that can be raised or lowered individually. Lift the leg rests halfway up for a perfect recline, or all the way up to a 90-degree angle to create a lie-flat couch space.” ©Air New Zealand This feature is available in select rows of the Economy cabins on 777-300ER and 787-9 aircraft, but not available on 777-367ER flights. These spaces measure 5’1″ long and 29″ wide, and Air New Zealand provides extra bedding, a seat liner, and “Skycouch kit with an adult/child loop and cuddle belt.” ©Air New Zealand We tried this on a longhaul flight from San Francisco to Auckland, and it was, in a word, magical. The couch setup allows you way more room to stretch out and get comfortable, and we fit an adult and a 13-year-old with just a bit of squeeze. You had to be seated normally during takeoff and landing, but the Skycouch setup was definitely worth the upgrade during the middle portion of our flight. It made relaxing, napping, and stretching out much easier. ©Air New Zealand The member of our team who flew with the Skycouch was traveling in a party of five. They booked the Skycouch for two of those five seats, and the crew members were very flexible about allowing family members to switch out time in the Skycouch seats — that way everyone could try it. For our particular flight, we paid about $400 to upgrade the seats, and we felt that it was worth every penny. ©Air New Zealand The main downside here is that once it’s made into a couch, it’s a challenge to access anything in the under-bed area. You’ll have a hard time getting to your bags that are under the seats, so go ahead and get your belongings to more convenient spots before the couch is made up. ©Air New Zealand So does this sound a little unusual? Have you always dreamed of following in Aladdin and Jasmine’s footsteps by wandering the streets of Agrabah? If that sounds like a bucket list-worthy experience, it’s time to start planning your trip to Disneyland Paris for a meal at Agrabah Cafe! Food from Agrabah Cafe Look, we’re going to level with you — generally, the food around Disneyland Paris is…not great. We’ve found a few things around the parks that we’ve enjoyed, but the food in Disneyland Paris is typically pretty inconsistent at best, and in some cases, it’s downright bad. Okay, now that we’ve got the bad news out of the way, here’s the good news: we recently ate at Agrabah Cafe and found a few things about it that could make this worth a stop on your visit to Disneyland Paris! Atmosphere Agrabah Cafe is located in the Adventureland section of Disneyland Paris. The entire surrounding area is Aladdin-themed, so the immersion starts before you even enter the restaurant! Agrabah Cafe Speaking of theming, the atmosphere is definitely the number one selling point here! The inside of the restaurant is designed to look like you’re strolling through the streets of Agrabah, and we were seriously impressed by how much it felt like we were INSIDE the world of Aladdin! Agrabah Cafe is seriously immersive! There are several different seating areas. Some of them feel like the insides of shops, and others feel more like they’re part of an outdoor marketplace, which all just adds to the vibe that you’re truly wandering through the city. The decor was beautiful, with stained glass, colorful tapestries, and murals sprinkled throughout the dining rooms. Agrabah Cafe Seating It’s a buffet-style restaurant, and a Cast Member will show you to a table based on your party size. Our table at Agrabah Cafe Once you’ve been seated, you’re free to head up to the buffet to fix your plate. As is typical with buffets, it’s all-you-can-eat, so guests can continue to return to grab additional plates. That means this could be a good option if you’re looking for a spot to have one big meal for the day. Buffet Now that we’ve talked vibes, let’s look at the menu! Menu There isn’t a food menu to order from, since all the meals here are buffet-style. The all-you-can-eat buffet is €45 for adults and €25 for kids age 3-11. You’ll choose your food from the buffet! However, there is an à la carte drink menu, with various wines, beer, hot beverages, and cold drinks available for an additional purchase. Drink Menu Of course, we sampled a TON of items from the buffet to see what stood out! Eats Most of the food available on the buffet was Middle Eastern-inspired, with a few other options sprinkled in. Cold Salad Section We were surprised by how much we enjoyed the food from the cold salads section, as they were refreshing and some of the most flavorful things we had. The cold salads were a highlight! There was a variety of different meats to choose from, including spiced chicken, meatballs, and sausages. Meatballs & Chicken The chicken was another one of our favorites. It was so tender that it fell right off the bone, and had a perfect texture. We really liked the chicken! While we liked both the chicken and the cold salads, pretty much everything else we tried was nothing to write home about. We were surprised by how bland most of the food was, especially considering how flavorful Middle Eastern cuisine typically is. Most of the things we tried were pretty bland That could be okay if you’re traveling with kids or super-picky eaters who shy away from strong flavors. But if you’re looking for a typical, flavorful Middle Eastern dining experience, you’ll probably be disappointed by the food. We wanted more flavor! There were a few Mickey-shaped items on the buffet, including crispy potatoes and Mickey pasta, which is a classic Disney touch! You can get your Mickey-shaped food fix here! You can top off your meal with something from the dessert section, which features a variety of pastries, cakes, and other sweets. Dessert Section The food options at Agrabah Cafe are more unique compared to other places around the park, so even though the flavors didn’t totally dazzle us, we did enjoy the change of pace for the food. Our Dessert Spread All the food was prepared well and tasted okay. But with the few exceptions we mentioned, most things just didn’t stand out. We’d sum up the food by saying it was fine but forgettable. It didn’t change our standard opinion of “meh” food at Disneyland Paris, but at least there was nothing that stood out as “bad” that we tried, which we can’t say for every restaurant around the park! Drinks We also ordered the Disneyland Paris white wine to pair with our meal. And while all the food was somewhere from okay to good, we unfortunately didn’t enjoy the wine at all. It had a very sharp, fruit-forward flavor profile, and it left a lingering bitter aftertaste. We would skip the wine next time! It did get a little milder as we continued drinking it, but it was definitely shocking at first! It could be worth a try if you prefer a strong, sharp flavor. But if you prefer a smooth, “easy-drinking” wine, we’d suggest skipping this one. Nosh or Not? This Disneyland Paris restaurant is a must-visit if… You LOVE all things Aladdin and want to experience dining in an immersive restaurant that transports you to Agrabah. You plan to fill up with one large meal during the day and are looking for a buffet with some solid options. You’re tired of “theme park food” and are ready for a different flavor palate. You should skip this Disneyland Paris spot if… You’re expecting a more traditional, flavorful Middle Eastern meal. You’re on a tight budget and don’t want to spend €45 per person on one meal. You’re traveling with super-picky eaters who prefer more standard theme park fare. Overall We know it’s shocking considering Paris’ status as an all-time destination for incredible food. But, in general, we haven’t found the food in Disneyland Paris to be that great, and Agrabah Cafe didn’t manage to totally beat that trend. With that in mind, we would probably rather stick to quick service meals in Disneyland Paris and save our time and budget for other things in the park. BUT, if we were going to choose a table service spot to dine at in the park, Agrabah Cafe would honestly be at the top of our list, considering the incredible atmosphere, unique flavor palate, and okay-to-good range of food options. The atmosphere sells it more than the food! Big Thunder Mountain Railroad reopens on May 3rd with some exciting new changes! The attraction closed in January of 2025, so fans are anxiously waiting to hop back on the Wildest Ride in the Wilderness. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad in Magic Kingdom Disney Imagineers have been hard at work for the last five years to reimagine the roller coaster. An Imagineer working on the project just shared new plot details, and we’re even more impatiently waiting to hop on the ride! Fox 35 Orlando reported that Dan Flynn, executive show manager with Walt Disney Imagineering, spoke about the new Big Thunder Mountain. Imagineers reworked the coaster’s plot to tie into the storyline of Barnabas T. Bullion, founder of the Big Thunder Mountain Mining Company. Bullion’s gold mining operation has faced so many problems as the forces of nature wreak havoc on the miners! ©Disney The hunt for gold is first referenced in the queue and was added to the ride itself during a previous refurbishment. But now, that storyline will carry on through the end of the ride! As riders make their way up the final hill, the gold that the miners have been seeking will be revealed to them. “Guests will finally be able to crest one of our last hills and see that gold mother lode,” Flynn said. He added that the finale will include the train being pushed out of the mountain, with a warning for those who try to mine there. Ride testing for Big Thunder Mountain The Rainbow Caverns at the beginning of the ride have been updated to make the section more visually striking. The phosphorescent pools and the cave formations are now more illuminated and more colorful. “The Rainbow Caverns have always been a utopia of color,” Flynn said. “So we wanted to enhance that even further.” ©Disney This scene now features more than 2,000 bats, another nod to the mountain’s menacing nature. Imagineers also added new sound effects that riders will hear as they make their way through the caverns. “You’ll start hearing a menacing rumble as it transforms into something more ominous to tell stories of things to come,” Flynn said. ©Disney Flynn also said Imagineers took the opportunity to bring back elements that haven’t been used for a long time. One example he shared is the two smokestacks on the side of the mountain, an effect that has been dormant for years but is working once again! “We were able to bring back that lore and tie it to the fact that it’s a working mine,” Flynn said. Ever since it was first announced, we’ve been waiting to get a first look inside Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge Resort, but now we don’t have to wait any longer! ©Disney Lakeshore Lodge is located in the former home of Disney’s River Country water park near Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground. We have been keeping a close eye on the construction progress, but Disney invited us to come check out the brand-new hotel, and now we’re bringing you an up-close look! Let’s goooooo! We even learned that Lakeshore Lodge will have a dedicated boat dock for transportation between Lakeshore Lodge and Magic Kingdom. Magic Kingdom Ferryboat We also learned that “guests will see fireworks from the resort in a unique way.” Ooh….! Now, that’s quite the tease. Disney also mentioned some surprises, like how the newly refurbished Meadow Swimmin’ Pool at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground has nods to River Country. Wagon at Meadow Swimmin’ Pool Originally, Disney had announced a hotel called Reflections: A Lakeside Lodge for the same space, but then stopped discussing the hotel. Now, Disney’s Lakeside Lodge will be opening instead. When Reflections: A Lakeside Lodge was announced, it was expected to have more than 900 rooms, which is on par with what we now know about Lakeshore Lodge. Disney is thrilled about the location and called it “exceptional.” Lakeshore Lodge will offer 967 rooms, which Disney shares will range “from cozy studios to spacious suites.” Many rooms will feature views of Bay Lake by day as well as the Magic Kingdom fireworks! Lakeshore Lodge construction — March 2026 New one- and two-bedroom Lake Houses will be located along the waterfront. When it comes to spooky season in Disney World, we’ve done it ALL. Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party! We’ve tried hundreds of seasonal treats over the years, we’ve checked out the merchandise, and we’ve taken more than our fair share of photos of the Mickey pumpkins. But for the past 17 years, we’ve also been to Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party (MNSSHP) EVERY year that it was available. Today, we’re here to take you on a journey through the past, because the party that we all know and love has changed quite a bit in nearly 20 years. Let’s go back in time! The Price First of all, we’ve got to mention the price! Back when Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party first launched in 1995 (before DFB was even a thing), tickets cost just $16.95 per person. That’s WILD. If we adjusted that price for inflation today, the tickets would cost $36.42 per person. Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party Wristband Contrast that with 2026, when tickets will be $119 for the cheapest dates and range all the way to $229 for the most expensive and popular dates. Now, a family of four could shell out nearly $1000 just to spend 5 hours doing Halloween festivities in Magic Kingdom. Good thing your tickets get you into the park as early as 4PM, right? Gotta use every hour you’re given! Is the Party Worth the Price? See Our Thoughts From 2025 Here! The Pandemic Changes Of course, there was a hiatus on Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party in 2020 and 2021. In 2020, instead of having a hard-ticketed event, Magic Kingdom offered modified Halloween celebrations during the daytime. Seasonal snacks, special merchandise, and of course, the cutest character cavalcades! You could see Mickey and friends in their Halloween costumes in the daytime, as well as select Disney Villains, pals from the Hundred Acre Woods, and characters from The Nightmare Before Christmas. Mickey’s Happy Halloween Cavalcade In 2021, MNSSHP didn’t fully come back. Instead, it was structured like an After Hours event. Disney After Hours BOO Bash was the name of the game, and it had some, but not all, of the Halloween celebrations we’d enjoyed at the party in the past. See What Boo Bash Was Like Here! New Experiences in Magic Kingdom Of course, one thing that has changed Magic Kingdom’s Halloween party experience significantly during the time we’ve been reporting on it is all the new attractions and offerings. Does anyone else remember when they allowed you to preview New Fantasyland during the party? That was awesome! TRON Lightcycle / Run In more recent years, we’ve added TRON Lightcycle / Run and Tiana’s Bayou Adventure to the party ride lineup, and they’ve both been incredibly popular. Any time a new ride is added to the list, it tends to be busy during the party because people want the chance to ride it with a lower wait time. Click Here to See What It Was Like to Ride TRON at the Party in 2023! Character Changes Sometimes good and sometimes not-as-good are the character changes that Disney has made to the party. A fan favorite option was adding Minnie, Daisy, and Clarabelle Cow dressed as the Sanderson Sisters from Hocus Pocus. And in 2025, Magic Kingdom added some villain sightings along Market Street (the entrance to the party). Getting to chat with Mother Gothel was a surprising delight! Daisy, Minnie, and Clarabelle as the Sanderson Sisters But to make way for new offerings, some other things have gone away. We miss the days when you could meet Snow White WITH the Seven Dwarfs all together. Also, we haven’t seen Tarzan and friends in a while, as well as Lotso from Toy Story 3 or Boo from Monsters Inc. Entertainment Updates Over the years, the fireworks at this party have gone through a few iterations as projection technology has improved and the regular Magic Kingdom fireworks shows have changed. But changes seem to happen even more frequently to Mickey’s Boo to You! Parade. We often see floats added and removed as new, popular movies and characters come out. Wreck-it Ralph A few years ago, costumes were refreshed for many sections of the parade, and more villains were added. Making the parade longer with more of our favorite characters? We’re totally down for that! When Do Tickets Go on Sale for the Halloween Party? Activities Have Shifted Over the years, the smaller-scale activities available at the party have shifted as well. Many years ago, you could get complimentary face painting during the party with your admission. What a great souvenir! Halloween Face Painting Now, if you’d like to get your face painted, you’ll need to visit the kiosk in Tomorrowland to pay for one of the available designs. There are certain rules you need to follow when you step onto an airplane to fly somewhere (like maybe that Disney World vacation). For example, the rules for carry-on luggage, as well as your personal item, are something that airlines typically enforce. Do you know the new rules about flying with portable chargers? You also need to follow rules when you’re actually on that airplane, but a certain restriction will be put into effect very soon with American Airlines. This involves the rules revolving around portable chargers. Since last year, airlines have been changing rules around portable chargers after several incidents where chargers have overheated and caused fires in the middle of flights. In 2025, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) banned portable chargers, as well as other items with lithium batteries, from checked luggage. This means that portable chargers have to be packed in a carry-on or personal bag. Orlando International Airport Well, American Airlines is expanding that rule if you’re flying on one of their planes. According to Good Morning America, starting on May 1st, all American Airlines passengers will be required to keep portable charges visible and within reach while in use. That means if you’re charging your phone, tablet, or other device with a portable charger, it has to remain where cabin crew can see it. You’ll have to keep your portable charger visible when using it on American Airlines planes The new policy also limits each passenger to two portable chargers that do not exceed 100 watt-hours each. Portable chargers also cannot be stored in overhead bins and cannot be recharged during your flight. This is to allow the cabin crew to be able to respond quickly to such a device if it should catch fire during a flight. ©American Airlines American Airlines is not alone in making new rules for portable chargers. Southwest Airlines currently only allows one lithium portable charger per person on its flights. Southwest also requires customers to keep charging devices visible when in use on flights. United Airlines allows devices with lithium batteries under 100-watt hours in checked and carry-on bags, but power banks have to remain in carry-on or personal bags. On May 1st, Delta is setting a limit of two portable chargers per passenger, not to exceed 100 watt-hours each. Make sure you’re aware of your airline’s policy about portable chargers If you’re flying, you’ll want to make sure you’re aware of your airline’s current policy regarding portable chargers. This information is usually on an airline’s website, but a quick Google search will also give you details about what you need to know. Isn’t it wild to think that Universal’s Epic Universe is less than a month away from celebrating its first anniversary?! We’re anticipating the park will be busier this summer now that it’s been open for almost a year. Epic Universe! It looks like Universal wants to make sure everything is in tip-top shape for the summer, because a popular attraction is closing next week and targeting to reopen JUST in time for the one-year date! Sorry, How to Train Your Dragon fans, but becoming a Viking will have to be on hold during May. We LOVE the Isle of Berk, inspired by the movie How to Train Your Dragon. The entire land makes you feel like you’re walking in the iconic film, from set pieces to actual dragons. If you have a trip to Epic Universe coming up, there’s no way you can skip out on this land. It features multiple attractions and experiences to check out. Astrid and her dragon Unfortunately, one of the experiences in the land will be closed starting next week. The popular attraction for little ones, Viking Training Camp, will close on May 4th. It won’t open again until the one-year anniversary date of the park, which is May 22nd. Viking Training Camp It’s not necessarily a go-to attraction out of everything the land has to offer, but it’s definitely a fun area, especially for little Vikings. It’s one of the best places for kiddos to let out some extra energy and see some cool dragon-themed stuff. Viking Training Camp Map If you do come to the land during this attraction’s closure, you’ll still have the three main rides to check out, including Hiccups Wing Gliders, Fyre Drill, and Dragon Racer’s Rally. That’s really what everyone goes to Berk for, but we understand wanting to see everything Epic Universe has to offer. Hiccup’s Wing Gliders For those coming to Epic Universe in May, just be aware that the Viking Training Camp isn’t the only attraction that will be closed. Stepping out of Berk into Super Nintendo World, we’re heading over to Donkey Kong Country. Donkey Kong Country Mine-Cart Madness will be closing next week on May 3rd. This closure is going to hit a lot more than the one in Berk, as this attraction is one of the biggest in the whole park. Fortunately, the closure won’t last that long, but as a massive ride at the park, this one will definitely throw a wrench in plans. Some MAJOR changes are coming to two popular rides in Disney’s Hollywood Studios in May! Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run From menu updates to ride refurbishments, things are constantly changing in Disney World! We make it our mission to keep you updated on all of the latest news to help you prepare for your next vacation. And speaking of things to prepare for, HUGE changes are coming in May to two of the most popular rides in Hollywood Studios! A LOT has been happening around Hollywood Studios lately, including construction on a brand-new Monsters, Inc.- inspired land. But while we anxiously await the future opening of Monstropolis, two of the park’s current attractions are getting major changes in May! Monstropolis First, over in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, the interactive attraction Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run is getting an exciting update! On May 22nd, the ride will be updated to include storylines from the upcoming Star Wars film, The Mandalorian and Grogu! The new version of the ride will allow guests to join Din Djarin and Grogu on an exciting mission to track down elusive ex-Imperial officers throughout the galaxy. ©Disney And that’s not the only update coming to the ride! For the first time ever, riders will be in control of their own destination. Their choices could lead to adventures on Bespin, the wreckage of the second Death Star around Endor, or the city-planet, Coruscant. ©Disney To top it all off, a new gameplay addition will allow the engineers to communicate with Grogu during the mission! The changes all hit Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run on Friday, May 22nd. Smuggler’s Run And, just a few days later, the newly rethemed Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring the Muppets will officially open on May 26th! Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring the Muppets In the revamped attraction, The Muppets will take over what was Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith, and will be the new stars of the show, in which they’ll team up with some of “music’s biggest stars for a rockin’ music festival.” ©Disney The updated storyline will feature the Muppet band The Electric Mayhem, as they prepare to headline their biggest Hollywood concert ever. But, when they run the risk of being late for their big gig, it’s up to Kermit, Miss Piggy, and more pals from the Muppets to find a way to get Electric Mayhem to the concert! ©Disney Disney has announced that there will be previews of Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets for Cast Members, Annual Passholders, and Disney Vacation Club Members before it officially opens to everyone on Tuesday, May 26th! One of the most anticipated projects at Disney World starts to feel more real each and every day, because construction is moving FAST at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Monstropolis construction Disney Imagineering is working long and hard on the brand-new Monsters Inc. Land, which is taking over what was Muppets Courtyard. When we say they have been working, we mean they have been WORKING. Disney Imagineering has been making a lot of progress, and we’re here to give you another update, as Disney has filed four new permits for the land! Disney Imagineering has just filed four permits for different existing buildings that will be transformed from what they were in Muppets Courtyard to what they will be in Monstropolis. We know what buildings are being worked on and the general description of what’s going on. So, let’s take a look! Concept art for Monstropolis Muppet Vision Building A permit has been filed for work on the building that held the beloved Muppet*Vision 3D attraction. In the permit filed by Disney Imagineering, the general description says “Install set elements.” We’re assuming this is a big step forward in now working on the interior of the building, as well as the exterior. Work on the clock In concept art, this new attraction is called “The Glob” theatre in Monstropolis city. We’re not sure what the actual name of this building will be, or what’s coming inside yet — but we can’t wait to find out! ©Disney Another permit was filed for the Muppet*Vision 3D building, but this second states it is for installing signage. We’re assuming this is for the exterior of the building, which means we’re getting close to the details being added. We’re not sure how far away they are from having this building complete, but they are clearly moving fast. So two permits filed for Muppet Vision, but what else? Mama Melrose Building Disney Imagineering filed another permit to “install signage“, only this one is for the Mama Melrose building. Mama Melrose is deep in the land, so we can’t see it the way we can see the Muppet Vision building. ©Disney However, we know the former Italian restaurant will end up becoming Harryhausen’s, the iconic Japanese restaurant from the Monsters, Inc. movie. PizzeRizzo Building Lastly, a permit was filed to also “install signage” at what was the PizzeRizzo building. Out of everything coming to the land, PizzeRizzo is the one spot we don’t even have a clue about what will replace it in Monstropolis. It looks like they’ve been working on the exterior of the building quite a bit, and now they’re getting ready to install some signage. Could this become another quick-service dining spot? We got a 23-19!! Disney Imagineering isn’t stopping here! They filed permits for work at two other spots around Disney World. Those spots are Disney’s Riviera Resort and the Magic of Disney Animation. Sorcerer hat! The Magic of Disney Animation is another space coming to Hollywood Studios, and it is less than a month away from being open! The permit filed by Disney Imagineering to “install set elements” is most likely the last one, as the new animation courtyard opens on May 26th. The new area is going to feature things like Disney Princess meet-and-greets, an Alice in Wonderland playground for kiddos, drawing classes with an Olaf animatronic, and more! Nice and open! Then there’s the Riviera, for which Disney filed a permit for “general construction“. This just tells us that construction and refurbishment are going to be hitting the popular resort, but we don’t have much detail outside of “general construction”. Many people choose to head to Disney World, Disneyland, or Universal Orlando for their family vacations. Whether it’s due to nostalgia, the magic of Disney, or the thrills of Universal, these are the most popular theme parks in the country. Slinky Dog Dash at Disney’s Hollywood Studios USA Today annually ranks the 10 best theme parks in America with the help of editors and readers, and they famously snubbed every Disney and Universal park last year. They just released the best theme parks for 2026, so let’s see what won! According to USA Today, the 10th best theme park is Hersheypark in Hershey, Pennsylvania. The amusement park of every chocolate lover’s dreams features 121 acres with more than 70 rides, a water park, and an 11-acre zoo — all accessible via a single admission. But Hersheypark isn’t just family-friendly – they have many thrill rides, including 15 coasters. ©Hersheypark In 9th place is Cedar Point in Sandusky, Ohio. Cedar Point is “the roller coaster capital of the world,” with 18 thrilling coasters covering more than 10 miles of track. The park features a generously sized midway and one of the only operating D.C. Muller carousels in the world. ©Cedar Point 8th place goes to Holiday World in Santa Claus, Indiana. Holiday World features thrill rides, shows, and more for the whole family to enjoy. Every land is holiday-themed, and there are rides with names like the Scarecrow Scrambler and Good Gravy, games like the Headless Horseman, plus corn mazes, hayrides, and holiday drone shows. ©Holiday World Number 7 went to Busch Gardens Williamsburg in Williamsburg, Virginia. This European-themed Busch Gardens gate transports visitors to England, Scotland, Ireland, France, Germany, and Italy circa the 17th century with more than 50 rides and attractions. ©Busch Gardens Kings Island in Mason, Ohio, was awarded 6th place. Kings Island offers plenty of family-friendly options across its rides, shows, and attractions. For thrill rides, Kings Island features the world’s longest wooden roller coaster, The Beast, as well as Diamondback, a thrilling steel coaster. Park admission also includes a trip to the Soak City Water Park. ©Kings Island Fifth place finally features an Orlando spot with SeaWorld Orlando. Most famous as a marine zoological park, SeaWorld Orlando offers high-octane thrill rides as well, thanks to Manta — one of the only coasters of its kind in the world — and Mako, a hyper coaster with deep dives, high speeds, and thrills aplenty. Mako at SeaWorld Orlando Number 4 was Kennywood in West Mifflin, Pennsylvania. At Kennywood, ride everything from wooden roller coasters like the side-by-side Racer, the intense Thunderbolt, and the circa-1920 Jack Rabbit to dark rides like the Old Mill and the last-of-its-kind Noah’s Ark, as well as modern thrill rides like the Steel Curtain coaster. ©Kennywood Bronze was awarded to Lost Island Theme Park in Waterloo, Iowa. The theme park features five distinct island realms (Fire, Water, Air, Earth, Spirit) packed with coasters, family rides, and tiki vibes. Beyond the adrenaline rushes, including the park’s signature Matugani launch coaster, you’ll find live entertainment, affordable dining spots, and attractions scaled for everyone from toddlers to thrill-seekers. ©Lost Island Theme Park In 2nd place was Knoebels in Elysburg, Pennsylvania. This park is free to enter, and rides require old-school tickets. Knoebels is home to Phoenix, one of the most popular wooden roller coasters in the United States, plus classic rides like Whipper, Flying Turns, and the Haunted Mansion dark ride. ©Knoebels But who won gold? That would be Silver Dollar City in Branson, Missouri. It has an 1880s mining-town theme with live entertainment, festivals, 100 resident craftsmen, and more than 40 rides and attractions. April has felt like it’s flown by, and ALSO like it’s taken 100 years at the exact same time. ©Disney With that, Disney has also made TONS of announcements this month about a variety of different things — Halloween events, Disney Stores coming back (in a way), and some big announcements about upcoming attractions. Believe it or not, though, we don’t feel any of those are the BIGGEST announcements from this month. In fact, the biggest one, in our eyes, has to do with an international Disney park, and a possible expansion it’s getting! Earlier this month, something was released by Disney that we feel kinda got swept under the rug, but we don’t know how, because it’s MASSIVE news. It’s possible that Shanghai Disney Resort COULD be getting a second theme park, based on new concept art. A pair of images was leaked that allegedly showed concept art for a second park at the Shanghai Resort, and when you look closely, it looks a LOT like EPCOT. @zoybeg X Account The second image shows how the potential concept art can fit next to the existing park. @zoybeg X Account Now here’s the thing: it’s unclear if this is legit. While Disney certainly hasn’t announced anything officially, it wouldn’t be the first time that information has been leaked ahead of a big announcement. It’s possible (but not at all confirmed) that this could be an announcement we hear about at D23 this year, if it is, in fact, true. There is historical precedent for Disney to design a potential second gate based on EPCOT, because years before Disney California Adventure in California, Disney planned to open the EPCOT-inspired WestCot as the Disneyland Resort’s second gate. So, all in all, this wouldn’t be the first time. ©Disney It’s also possible that this concept art COULD be legit, but Disney may change their minds and go back to the drawing board before it’s ever officially announced, leaving us in limbo forever. Shanghai Disney Resort only opened in 2016, so at ten years old now, it would make sense, in our eyes, to start thinking about a second gate. What happens when Disney, Make-A-Wish, and MrBeast join forces to grant nearly 40 Avengers-inspired wishes? You get a night of heroic proportions. As part of Disney Week of Wishes, our company-wide celebration of wish-granting around the world, Wishes Assemble is a first-of-its-kind wish event for nearly 40 kids battling critical illnesses and their families at Avengers Campus at Disney California Adventure park at Disneyland Resort. Participants stepped into the role of Avengers recruits alongside some of the world’s most influential content creators, including Mark Rober, Dude Perfect, Sam & Colby, PrestonPlayz & BriannaPlayz, and Clix. From start to finish, this day – full of magic and Avengers missions – is about celebrating resilience, imagination and the incredible strength inside each Make-A-Wish kid. We Could Do This All Day! So, what does a day following in the footsteps of Super Heroes look like? It began with a comic book art lesson on drawing Spider-Man, led by a professional artist. During the class, Captain America actor Anthony Mackie made a surprise appearance, gifting wish kids Hasbro Captain America Action Figures. He then spent a little time with 9-year-old wish kid Coen, who wished to meet Mackie “because he is my favorite Super Hero!” The two rode Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT together. Throughout the day, wish families experienced personalized moments as wishes came to life across Disneyland Resort. MrBeast led a scavenger hunt before welcoming wish kids to his signature-style Beast Games. Mark Rober hosted a hands-on egg drop experiment from Avengers Headquarters, giving kids the rare opportunity to take part in a science experience inside Avengers Campus. The Dude Perfect Fan Zone featured themed trick-shot stations, games, and challenges. Additional moments included PrestonPlayz and Clix spending time with wish kids in custom-designed gaming spaces, playing Fortnite and Minecraft before riding WEB SLINGERS: A Spider-Man Adventure together, while Sam & Colby hosted a spooky storytime with special guest, Agatha Harkness. The day concluded with an unforgettable private evening celebration at Avengers Campus, where Vision actor Paul Bettany made a surprise appearance. YouTube also collaborated with Disney and Make-A-Wish, once again hosting the “Creator Corner” lounge, which included a special memento award ceremony for each child and an interactive thumbnail creation station, created in partnership with MrBeast’s team. Extending the Magic through Thoughtful Giving One of the most meaningful parts of Wishes Assemble was the care taken to extend the adventure beyond the park experience itself. With support from Disney Consumer Products, Disney Store and our licensees, including Berkshire Fashions, Corkcicle, Funko, Hasbro, the LEGO Group, Mad Engine, and Monogram International, kids were surprised with thoughtfully curated touches designed to help them gear up like Super Heroes and have fun through imagination and play. There’s a NEW Disney+ series in the works, and we would have NEVER been able to guess what character it was going to be about. ©Cartoon Network According to Deadline, Disney+ has just acquired the rights to a new Casper the Friendly Ghost show! Disney landed the IP after a competitive bidding war that involved five parties, and now a new show is coming. Let’s take a look at what we know. We don’t know too much about the new Casper show, but it’s being described as a modern update on the classic ghost story. We also know that it will be a live-action project directed and written by Rob Letterman. ©Casper Rob Letterman has done notable movies such as Shark Tale, Monsters vs. Aliens, and Pokémon: Detective Pikachu. Letterman also executive-produced another Disney+ series, Goosebumps. He collaborated with Hilary Winston on Goosebumps, and she will be working with Letterman once again, only this time as a co-writer for this new Casper project. ©Disney+ The best news about this new Disney+ show has to be that the legendary Steven Spielberg will be returning for it. He was an executive producer of the 1995 Universal movie Casper. ©TCM Interestingly, this will be the first Universal IP to have its own content on Disney+. This would be a rare Disney+ series project based on a famous IP that is not from within the Disney ecosystem or derived from books. We’ll have to wait and hear more about the project, but it is in the early stages of development. ©Casper We’ll be keeping an eye out for any more news on the project as it gets underway. EPCOT is home to some of the best snacks in the whole resort. Come on, when you’ve got mini versions of ELEVEN countries in one park, how can you not? Caramel Flight from Karamell-Küche If you’re looking for a sweet treat, though, we have to say that one of our favorites is none other than Karamell-Küche in the Germany Pavilion. The quaint, fun design outside is plenty enough to draw you in, but then the smell of fresh caramel? Oh, it does something to us every time. If you’re looking for a sweet treat in the park, this is 100% the place to go, and these three snacks prove it. If you want something fun that also has some booze in it, the Caramel Flight with Liquor for $7.99 is a great choice. It comes with four pieces of decently-sized caramel, which isn’t bad for that price. Caramel Flight with Liquor THIS is why this shop is known for its caramel, and there’s no other treat necessary to prove it (though there are PLENTY to choose from). This is perfect caramel candy. These are pure, unadulterated, soft, smooth, creamy caramel, and it’s glorious. The liquor comes from inside, but instead of being a liquid center, it’s infused into the caramel, so every bite melts in your mouth a bit and leaves just enough of the alcohol flavor that you know it’s there, but it’s not overwhelming. Delicious! If you’re looking for a fun, sweet snack with a bit of alcohol, we highly recommend it, but the caramel is also fantastic on its own, so if you’re underage or don’t drink, the caramel treats on their own are also incredible. We can’t get enough We also snagged the Caramel S’more for $5.79, and while this is VERY rich and super shareable due to all the sugar, it’s a classic treat made even better with some great caramel. Caramel S’more The chocolate layer outside is a sweet milk chocolate, the graham cracker layer is thick enough that you can get the crumble of it to really bring home that s’mores flavor, and while there wasn’t as much marshmallow as we were initially expecting, the caramel on the inside helps make up for that texture. It’s delicious, but super messy, so be sure to grab a TON of napkins! Look at that inside! Finally, we have the Mickey Caramel Cereal Treat for $7.99, and this thing literally just tasted like childhood to us. It’s a classic marshmallow Rice Krispies treat covered in a thick drizzle of smooth caramel, so while it’s nothing special or out of this world, the marshmallow is creamy and vanilla flavored, the caramel is perfectly smooth, and the design of the treat means it’s not as messy as others. Overall, it’s a real winner for us, and we think it will be for you too, especially if you love nostalgia. When it comes to dining at Disney World, you’ve got a TON of options. Especially at Disney Springs, where you have dozens of great restaurants all in one place! Raglan Road We recently stopped by Raglan Road at Disney Springs for dinner, and now we’re bringing you our FULL review. We love Raglan Road, but we haven’t stopped by for a full meal in a while – is it still worth it? Atmosphere Raglan Road is a little slice of Ireland in the Florida sunshine. When we were escorted to our table, we were greeted by these amazing Irish dancers. The music and dancing are stellar, and the crowd really gets into it. We had the perfect view from our table, and they even changed costumes during our meal for a second set. It’s not advertised as dinner and a show, but this set was just as good, if not better than, our food. You truly can’t get an experience like this elsewhere in Florida. Irish dancers at Raglan Road Most of the decor here is authentically Irish, and the bars themselves were shipped directly from Ireland. You’re surrounded by rich, dark woods and brass fixtures. The tile floors below your feet add to the feeling of antiquity, and the soaring heights of the domed main dining room, complete with cupola, are crowned with leaded stained glass — again, the work of Irish craftspeople. Just walking into Raglan Road is a beautiful experience, and it only gets better when you open your menu. Menu Raglan Road is an Irish pub first, so it’s no surprise that the drink menu is longer than the food options. They offer PLENTY of draught beers on tap, with a wide selection of local craft beers in addition to Irish staples. If you can’t decide, their beer flights are incredibly popular; it makes for a diverse selection. The drink menu For food, Raglan Road has a variety of Irish staples like Shepard’s Pie, bangers and mash, and fish and chips. However, they also have offerings for the picky eaters; a salad, burger, or chicken sandwich is always reliable. The food menu The dessert menu features four of their signature desserts – chocolate mousse cake, strawberry cheesecake, pineapple upside-down cake, and their famous bread and butter pudding. In typical European fashion, they offer espresso and tea drinks as a third course to pair with the sweets. Raglan Road dessert menu And now, onto the main event — the food! Drinks To drink, we picked up the Strawberry Cucumber Mojito for $17.00. This is made with Bacardi Gold Rum, strawberry puree, muddled cucumber and mint, lime sour, and ginger ale. Strawberry Cucumber Mojito This was summer in a glass. The strawberry and cucumber flavors paired well together and were very natural. The rum is present, but very well balanced, with the fruitiness as the strongest flavor. The mint is very faint, so if you’re a fan of a traditional mint-forward mojito, you may be disappointed. Strawberry Cucumber Mojito Eats First up, we grabbed the new Pretzel, Beer, Braised Onion Cheese Sauce for $12.00. This is a potato pretzel served with a beer-braised caramelized onion in cheese sauce. Pretzel, Beer, Braised Onion Cheese Sauce This is a great pretzel – it’s fluffy, buttery, and sturdy enough for dipping. The sauce was creamy with a strong cheese flavor and a slight spice to keep things interesting. The braised onions were surprisingly sweet, which balanced the spice. Pretzel, Beer, Braised Onion Cheese Sauce Next, we tried the Now You’re Talking Chicken Sandwich for $24.95. This is a fried buttermilk chicken breast topped with hot sauce, scallions, shredded pickled slaw, truffle aioli, and grated parmesan. Now You’re Talking Chicken Sandwich The fried chicken was incredibly juicy, and the bun was buttery and tender. The spice lingers well after each bite, thanks to the hot sauce, but the pickled slaw adds some relief. The steak fries are classic – crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. Our server recommended malt vinegar with these, and we found that it calmed some of the spice from the sandwich. Now You’re Talking Chicken Sandwich For dessert, we got their signature Ger’s Bread Pudding for $13.50. Instead of your typical menu with a list of ingredients, this is only described as “Like no other you have ever tried. Believe us,” so naturally, we were interested! Ger’s Bread Pudding This was a buttery, soft bread pudding stuffed with plump raisins and topped with a smooth, velvety custard. The bread is well coated in the custard, and as it sets, it gets just crunchy enough to add a little texture. The raisins add little bursts of sweetness to the bread. This was sweet, but not a sugar high. Ger’s Bread Pudding Nosh or Not This Disney World restaurant is a must-visit if… You love Irish-inspired food: Obviously! Raglan Road has some pretty great Irish eats like Fish and Chips and Shepherd’s Pie, and even if you’re not super familiar with them, it can be a great place to try them. The staff is very knowledgeable about the dishes, and the menu is easy to understand. You’re looking for entertainment while you eat: This restaurant is so fun and a great dining experience. From the music, Irish dancing, and the overall vibe, the whole atmosphere is immersive. I mean, how many places can you see traditional Irish dancing in Disney World? You want an extensive menu: The menu has a whole bunch of options, not just for food. They have an extensive drink menu with tons of beers, whiskey flights, and Guinness (of course!). We love grabbing a drink here and maybe an appetizer or two if we’re looking for a quicker meal, but they also have entrees and desserts to complete the whole experience. You should skip this Disney World spot if… You don’t like loud music: This probably isn’t the place to catch up with old friends and have a lengthy family discussion due to all of the entertainment. The music is blasting, and Irish dancing isn’t particularly quiet, so if you’re looking for a quiet spot to relax, you’ll want to make a reservation somewhere else. You prefer more familiar eats: Not looking to expand the taste buds today? We get it! Sometimes during your vacation, you’ll be trying SO many new things that you might want some classic burgers and chicken tenders at some point. This restaurant is great for those looking to try something new, but maybe not for the pickiest eaters. You want a more affordable meal: Like many Disney Springs restaurants, Raglan Road isn’t necessarily cheap. Most entrees cost between $24 and $41, and most appetizers are around $18. This might be better for a special occasion, but it might be too much to feed the entire extended family. Overall We love the lively atmosphere here; it’s a one-of-a-kind experience. The drinks were plentiful and refreshing, while the food was flavorful. The pretzel and bread pudding were the stars of the show – they were both complex and left us wanting seconds. Okay, hold onto your hats, but something very exciting just happened in Hollywood Studios. Look at all of this space! Well, there are a LOT of exciting things happening in Hollywood Studios, but I guess yelling “move that wall” enough times helped because Disney has pushed back the walls for the new Walt Disney Studios! When Animation Courtyard got the boot, walls were put up, and the only space you could access was The Little Mermaid: A Musical Adventure, but even that was mostly covered with walls. The walls completely cut off the space and made Hollywood Studios feel a whole lot smaller (especially with the walls up in the old Muppets Courtyard, too). What the walls used to look like Strolling through Hollywood Studios, we noticed the walls have been moved! You can now access more of the courtyard space! Nice and open! Now, most of it is still behind walls, including the handprints and signatures from different Disney characters, which we’re really looking forward to. From this angle, though, you can see the sorcerer hat on top a lot more clearly. It really does look just like the real Walt Disney Studios in Burbank. Sorcerer hat! Walt Disney Studios opens on May 26th in Hollywood Studios with The Magic of Disney Animation, which includes drawing classes hosted by our favorite snowman, Olaf… “Olaf Draws” Concept Art ©Disney …along with character meet and greets with cool backgrounds that represent different departments of the animation studio. ©Disney Personally, I’m thrilled for the Alice in Wonderland indoor playground based on Mary Blair’s original concept art. I just know it’s going to be stunning. ©Disney Disney Jr. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live! will also be joining the area! Disneyland Star Wars Launch Bay One of the most beloved benefits is the ability to access cardmember-only character meet and greet opportunities, and one popular Disneyland perk has officially gotten a MAJOR change! Previously, Disney Visa Cardmembers visiting Disneyland have been able to meet Darth Vader at a special, reserved photo location inside Star Wars Launch Bay in Tomorrowland. This experience has been a huge draw for Star Wars fans, offering shorter waits, a more relaxed environment, and complimentary digital downloads of professional photos just for flashing your Disney Visa Card. Beginning April 29, 2026, visitors to Batuu may find Darth Vader, Imperial Stormtroopers, and other iconic Star Wars characters inside Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland park in Anaheim, Calif., as the land expands its timeline to include more Star Wars eras. That means Darth Vader has moved to Galaxy’s Edge, making room for his grandson to make an appearance. For fans of Kylo Ren, or those who missed seeing him up close, this is a brand-new reason to take advantage of this cardmember perk! Kylo Ren at Disneyland Cardmembers can stop by for a photo opportunity at a location reserved just for them, inside Star Wars Launch Bay. Best of all, you’ll receive complimentary downloads of your photos, making it an easy and memorable souvenir. Guests must present a valid Disney Visa Card for entry, and availability can vary. On most days, this experience is typically offered from 2 PM until 6 PM, though hours are always subject to change, so it’s a good idea to check once you’re in the park. Star Wars Launch Bay This change is part of a major timeline shift happening at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in Disneyland. Characters and storylines from The Empire Strikes Back, Return of the Jedi, The Mandalorian, and Ahsoka, among many others, are now included in the land, which also means you can enjoy and experience the Galactic Civil War, the New Republic, the Age of the Resistance, and the First Order all in one day. Darth Vader is now roaming around the land full-time, and you’ll see him walking around with Stormtroopers in an attempt to hunt down the remaining Jedi, which means you’ll also get to see Princess Leia Organa (near the Millennium Falcon), Han Solo (also near the Millennium Falcon), Luke Skywalker (roaming the outpost), and Chewbacca throughout the land. ©Disney Don’t worry, though, because you’ll still be able to see Ahsoka Tano, the Mandalorian, and Grogu over near the Marketplace. R2-D2 will also continue to roll around near the Droid Depot and the garage, while Rey will be able to be found at the Resistance Camp. Mando and Grogu in Disneyland Additionally, the First Order Cargo shop has turned into Black Spire Surplus, which is a military salvage operation with artifacts from across the history of the galaxy. This will be where you can find “relics” themed after both the Empire and the Rebel Alliance from the Galactic Civil War. First Order Cargo Shop is now Black Spire Surplus Dok Ondar’s Den of Antiquities has also gotten some adjustments, beginning to display a different array of one-of-a-kind items from its past, and an earlier generation of the Mubo family will begin operating the Droid Depot from now on.
