If you’re anything like us, your jaws probably hit the floor when it was announced earlier this week that Spirit Airlines had gone under overnight, and now, we’re here to tell you that another prominent travel option could be in trouble as well. Brightline Train Station The Brightline train runs multiple different routes around Florida, making travel much easier for those who don’t prefer to drive, can’t drive anymore for any reason, or who don’t like to fly. While there have been talks of a west coast expansion, and last year there were talks of Brightline using a $400 million bond to pay for the “design, development, acquisition, construction” of a rail system towards Tampa, it’s now looking like things may not be working out as the company wanted. According to The Wall Street Journal, just last week, the private railroad operator issued a warning that raised questions about its ability to continue operations. In response, more creditors of Fortress Investment Group’s Brightline have hired restructuring advisers to hopefully assist with the issue. Brightline train Currently, the Brightline train is at $5.5 billion in debt, and they’ve been working to reduce that while seeking outside capital. While those talks are in the works, the possibility of bankruptcy continues to loom overhead. Currently, Brightline is in talks with some of its bondholders, including holders of a series of 11% bonds due in 2030, advised by Davis Polk & Wardwell. The company has also stated that they’ve entered into a grace period with lenders to defer interest payments on the municipal bonds in February, which will extend through June 15th. Brightline at Orlando Airport Recently, a company spokesperson was quoted saying, “Brightline continues to demonstrate strong momentum, with first quarter 2026 marking the highest ridership and revenue performance in our history, with 20% year-over-year growth in March,” and that they’re “engaged with our partners on various options to enhance our balance sheet and position our company for long-term success.” Despite this, the company still appears to be in pretty significant trouble. When it comes to deciding which Walt Disney World park to visit, not every day is created equal. EPCOT For example, while the Magic Kingdom is the resort’s — and the world’s — most visited theme park, there are a few days this year when guests should probably consider making their way to EPCOT instead. May 13th While the rest of our days are full of special events and Holidays, May 13th is just a random Wednesday. So, why is it wise to skip the Magic Kingdom for EPCOT that day? Two Words: Private Event. Cinderella Castle The Magic Kingdom will be closing to the general public at 5:30 PM that day for an event. Meaning that there’s no evening dining at the park, no Starlight Parade, and no Happily Ever After fireworks. In other words, if you plan on engaging in any of the after-dark activities, you’ll want to head over to EPCOT instead for a meal and some fireworks, specifically Luminous. Starlight August 7th August 7th marks the first day of this year’s Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween party! The annual event is a favorite of many, offering all the treats and trappings of spooky season. However, those who don’t have party tickets will need to be out of the Magic Kingdom by 6:00 PM that day, which creates similar issues to those above. So once again, EPCOT would be a better bet. Magic Kingdom at night during Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party Honestly, the same could be said for every date of the Halloween Party — the aforementioned August 7th, as well as August 11th, 14th, 18th, 21st, 23rd, 25th, 28th, 30th, September 1st, 4th, 8th, 11th, 13th, 15th, 18th, 20th, 22nd, 24th, 25th, 27th, 29th, and October 1st, 2nd, 4th, 6th, 8th, 9th, 13th, 15th, 16th, 18th, 22nd, 23rd, 25th, 27th, 29th, and 31st — as well as the as-yet-unannounced dates of Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. Luminous at EPCOT November 27th The day after Thanksgiving — AKA Black Friday — is always a busy day at Disney World’s theme parks, including the Magic Kingdom and EPCOT. However, the date is usually a special one for the latter park, as it is traditionally the launch of EPCOT’s Festival of the Holidays. What better way to kick off the Holiday Season than by embracing how it is celebrated around the world? 2025 EPCOT Festival of the Holidays If you’re planning a trip to Disney World during any of these dates this year, you may want to skip over the Magic Kingdom for EPCOT on these particular dates. So much has happened in the aviation industry in the past week, and a lot of it hasn’t been great news. ©Breeze Airways Most notably, popular budget airline Spirit Airlines officially went under and ceased all operations overnight, leaving a gap in affordable flights offered for travelers. However, now there’s some good news for flyers who are traveling in or out of Orlando International Airport — two airlines have now added new routes! According to the Orlando Business Journal, two airlines will expand their offerings at Orlando International Airport following Spirit’s shutdown. On May 5th, Breeze Airways announced it would begin a new nonstop flight route between Orlando and Atlantic City, New Jersey, beginning on July 3rd. The best part? It’ll run EACH day! The new route will begin at just $89 for a one-way. In the press release announcing the addition, Breeze Airways CEO David Neeleman said, “The daily nonstop to Atlantic City is another extension of the growth we have seen as MCO continues to be one of our largest markets. Our guests will enjoy this service to America’s Playground, and we look forward to welcoming them onboard.” ©Breeze Airways Just a few days prior, on May 2nd, Avianca Airlines announced that they plan to expand their current flight between Orlando and Medellin, Colombia, to become year-round, AND to be offered daily. However, the expansion is currently pending approval from both governments. Previously, this flight was typically only offered during the summer season. Orlando International Airport These new flights are helping to lessen the gap the shutdown of Spirit has caused, but there are still many routes that need replacing. Could we see more airlines step in to assist with those in the near future? We’ll keep an eye out, because it is possible! More Recent MCO Airport News! We’ve got massive news out of Disney’s Hollywood Studios, which sounds like something we say basically once a week, but that’s because it’s TRUE! Check it out! There are multiple construction projects happening in the park right now (well, there are dozens all over Disney World as a whole), and so that means that every week, it feels like at least one of them takes a big step forward. In this case, it’s Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets, which opens its doors in just a few short weeks. Something new is on the iconic guitar, and it’s got us VERY excited! When we stopped by the other day, we noticed that, not only is the guitar looking beautifully shiny and rainbow colored, but there’s now a sign on it that SAYS “Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets!” Check out the sign! This is just another step towards reopening, which is currently set for May 26th, with previews scheduled for Annual Passholders ahead of time. Disney has given us a sneak peek of what’s happening inside the ride, and we know what new songs we’ll be able to jam out to on the attraction, but we’re really looking forward to stepping inside soon to experience it all. Check out that new poster too! In case you’re sitting here going, “Have I been under a rock? What in the world is happening?” We’ll recap for you! Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets will take guests on a VIP tour of G-Force Records, now owned by Scooter’s uncle, J.P. The Muppets have been rocking out in the studio, but they’ve lost track of time, and it’ll be a race to get to the music festival they’re headlining on time. That’s where the adventure comes in! ©Disney We know we’ll get to see The Electric Mayhem, as well as Kermit, Miss Piggy, Scooter, Gonzo, and tons more of our favorite Muppet friends, as well as some special celebrity guests. We love seeing special events happen in the Disney parks, especially when they get so many people involved! ©Bats Day One of our ultimate favorites is Dapper Days, which takes place in both Disney World and Disneyland throughout the year. However, if you’re not into dressing up fancy but prefer more of a darker style, then Bats Day is 100% for you. It just happened in Disneyland recently, but if you missed it, don’t worry — the 2027 date has just been announced! In 2027, Bats Day will take place on May 2nd, with pre-events happening in the park on May 1st. This will be the 28th year of the event, which started as just two goth groups getting together back in 1999. The 2026 event just took place on May 3rd, and was a big hit! @batsday on Instagram What exactly is Bats Day, you ask? Well, it celebrates all things Disney AND goth, and encourages attendees to dress up in their best/favorite black or goth attire (that still meets the park’s outfit guidelines!). You’ll find events throughout the day, such as a Baby Goths meetup, and while the event isn’t officially affiliated with Disney, the park is well aware of the events and assists in it running smoothly each year. ©Bats Day At this time, there isn’t a similar event that takes place in Disney World, but who knows what’s on the horizon! There are certain Disney World questions that sound boring until you’re actually standing in your resort room surrounded by damp pool towels, empty popcorn buckets, rogue mystery pin set wrappers, and one mysterious sock that no one in your family is claiming. ©Disney Suddenly, housekeeping is not a boring topic. It is the backbone of civilization. It is the difference between “magical Disney vacation” and “lightly themed laundry cave.” And if you haven’t stayed at a Disney World hotel in a while, you may have questions. Do rooms get cleaned daily? Is it every other day? What happens at Disney Vacation Club resorts? Can you ask for extra towels? Should you tip? What happens if there’s a dog in the room? What if that dog is a service animal? Modified housekeeping We’re breaking it all down, because yes, there are details. Lots of details. And because Disney hotel housekeeping, lovingly nicknamed “Mousekeeping” by many fans, is one of those things you do not think about until you very suddenly need three extra washcloths, trash pickup, and someone to help you recover from the churro crumbs your toddler has lovingly embedded into the carpet. First, What Hotels Are We Talking About? For this guide, we’re talking about Disney-owned Walt Disney World Resort hotels. That includes Disney Value Resorts, Moderate Resorts, Deluxe Resorts, Deluxe Villas, Disney Vacation Club properties, and The Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort. Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa Nearby hotels like the Walt Disney World Swan, Dolphin, Swan Reserve, Four Seasons, and Disney Springs-area hotels can have their own housekeeping policies. Some are wonderful. Some are weird. Some require reading the fine print with the intensity of someone trying to decode a haunted treasure map. But they are not the focus here. Three Things You Should ALWAYS Do As Soon As You Get to Your Disney World Hotel The Big Picture As of 2026, Disney’s official housekeeping schedule depends on where you stay and how you booked the room. Ft. Wilderness Rooms at Disney Value Resorts and Disney Moderate Resorts receive housekeeping service every other day. Rooms at Disney Deluxe Resorts receive daily housekeeping service. Rooms at most Disney Deluxe Villas receive daily housekeeping if booked as a regular cash stay through Disney, unless you are using Disney Vacation Club Member Points or a Member Cash Discount. The Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort receive housekeeping every other day unless booked with DVC Member Points or a Member Cash Discount. That’s the basic map. Now let’s open the drawer, find the weird extra remote, and get into the nitty-gritty. A Definitive Ranking of EVERY Disney World Hotel Value Resorts: Every Other Day If you’re staying at a Disney Value Resort, think All-Star Movies, All-Star Music, All-Star Sports, Pop Century, or Art of Animation, you should expect housekeeping every other day. That means you should not assume someone will come into your room daily to make beds, refresh towels, empty all trash, and reset the room back to “just checked in and haven’t yet destroyed the place with sunscreen and granola bars” condition. ©Disney For longer stays, every other day service may be perfectly fine. For shorter stays, especially one- or two-night trips, it can feel like housekeeping barely enters the chat. Our advice? If you are staying at a Value Resort and you know your family turns a room into a snack tornado by 9:07 PM, plan ahead. Ask for extra towels early. Bring a laundry bag. Use trash cans like they owe you money. And don’t be afraid to call Housekeeping if you need supplies. 7 Hotel Room Essentials for Disney World in 2026 Moderate Resorts: Also Every Other Day Disney Moderate Resorts also receive housekeeping every other day. That includes hotels like Caribbean Beach, Coronado Springs, Port Orleans Riverside, and Port Orleans French Quarter. This is one of those places where the word “Moderate” feels accurate. You’re getting more amenities than the Values, usually a bit more breathing room, maybe a prettier resort vibe, maybe a lounge that whispers, “come spend $17 on a cocktail.” But when it comes to housekeeping frequency, you’re still on the every-other-day schedule. Towel Mickey If you’re a rope-drop-to-fireworks family and you barely see your room except to sleep and locate clean socks, this may not matter much. If you take midday breaks, have small kids, use the pool daily, or require a high towel-to-human ratio, you may feel it more. And let’s be clear: pool towels do not count as a personality. Please don’t hoard 19 of them in your room like a resort raccoon. The 5 Best Disney World Hotels for Introverts Deluxe Resorts: Daily Housekeeping Here’s where the Deluxe Resort price tag at least tries to hand you a mint and look useful. Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge Disney Deluxe Resorts receive daily housekeeping service. That includes resorts like Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, Disney’s Contemporary Resort, Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, Disney’s Beach Club Resort, Disney’s Yacht Club Resort, and Disney’s BoardWalk Inn. Daily housekeeping can be a real perk, especially if you are paying Deluxe prices and would like the room to recover from your vacation choices while you are out making more of them. Room at Animal Kingdom Lodge This is particularly helpful for longer stays, split stays, families with kids, and anyone who believes a made bed makes a hotel room feel instantly less chaotic. It also helps if you’re the kind of person who likes returning from the parks to a reset room, fresh towels, and the gentle illusion that you are not personally responsible for the trail of receipts, ears, ponchos, and portable chargers strewn across the desk. There’s One Hotel Perk You Can ONLY Get at DELUXE Resorts — Is It Worth It? Deluxe Villas: It Depends How You Booked Disney Deluxe Villas are where the housekeeping chart starts wearing a fake mustache. If you book a Disney Deluxe Villa as a regular cash reservation through Disney, you generally receive daily housekeeping, just like a Deluxe Resort hotel room. Rooms at Disney Deluxe Villas receive daily housekeeping unless you are using Disney Vacation Club Member Points or a Member Cash Discount. Disney’s Beach Club But if you’re staying on DVC points, whether your own points, rented points, or a Member Cash Discount, housekeeping works differently. This is one of the biggest areas where guests get tripped up, because two people can be staying in the same resort, even the same room type, and have different housekeeping schedules based on booking method. Cash reservation through Disney? Daily housekeeping in most Deluxe Villas. Yacht Club DVC points or Member Cash Discount? Welcome to the DVC housekeeping schedule. Please take a number and prepare to discuss trash and towels like it’s a constitutional matter. The DVC Housekeeping Schedule For Disney Vacation Club Members staying at a DVC Resort using Member Points or a Member Cash Discount, Disney says you receive trash and towel service on the fourth day of your visit. For longer stays, you receive housekeeping service on the fourth day and trash and towel service on the eighth day. Disney’s Riviera Resort Translated into normal-person language: DVC housekeeping is not daily by default when you’re staying on points. This is part of the DVC model. You are getting villa-style accommodations, often with kitchenettes or kitchens, and some larger villas include washers and dryers. But the housekeeping schedule is leaner than what you’d get as a regular cash guest at a Deluxe hotel. Trash and towel service is not the same as a full cleaning. You should expect the basics, think towels and trash, not a sparkling reset of the entire room worthy of a before-and-after HGTV reveal. Kitchen at Copper Creek This matters a lot for families staying in villas. Yes, having a kitchen is fabulous. Yes, a washer and dryer can save your sanity. But also, if you cook breakfast every morning and your child treats the pull-down bed like a cracker excavation site, you may notice that housekeeping is not swooping in daily to erase the evidence. The ONE Rule You Can’t Forget About Annual Passholder and DVC Discounts The Fort Wilderness Cabins Have Their Own Little Plot Twist The Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort are now part of Disney Vacation Club, but Disney’s housekeeping page gives them a specific note: The Cabins receive housekeeping service every other day unless you are using Disney Vacation Club Member Points or a Member Cash Discount. Room inside The Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort So if you book the cabins as a regular cash guest, expect housekeeping every other day. If you book through DVC points or a Member Cash Discount, you’re in DVC housekeeping territory. This is very Disney World in 2026: a cabin, a golf cart, a DVC wrinkle, and probably at least one child asking if they can go to the pool while everyone else is still trying to find coffee. FULL TOUR: We Got an Exclusive Look at the NEW Fort Wilderness Cabins in Disney World! What Does Disney Housekeeping Actually Do? Full housekeeping cleanings include the things you would expect: replacing towels and amenities, cleaning bathrooms, making beds, emptying trash and recycling, tidying the room, and vacuuming. That does not mean every single inch of your room is getting deep-cleaned daily or every other day. This is hotel housekeeping, not a fairy godmother with a commercial-grade steamer and a grudge against dust. Port Orleans — Riverside You can generally expect things like: Fresh towels replace used towels. Bathroom cleaning. Trash and recycling emptied. Beds made. Amenities replenished. Light tidying. Vacuuming as needed. Mary Poppins Room What should you not assume? That housekeeping will organize your family’s 47 souvenir bags, wash your personal dishes, fold your laundry, or identify which MagicBand belongs to which child. They are housekeepers, not forensic vacation archaeologists. Also, if something specific needs attention, ask. Spilled coffee on the sheets? Call. Need more shampoo? Call. Baby had a diaper incident that belongs in a villain origin story? Definitely call. 5 Things You Need To Know About Housekeeping at Disney World Hotels When Does Housekeeping Come? There is no one universal time when housekeeping arrives. Housekeeping time depends on several factors, but typically occurs from mid-morning to mid-afternoon. Guests who need service at another time can call Housekeeping from the room phone. This means housekeeping may show up while you are at the parks, while you are at the pool, while you are napping, or precisely when one member of your travel party has decided to shower after everyone else insisted “we’re leaving in five minutes.” Bathroom at the DVC Villas at the Grand Floridian If timing matters, call Housekeeping. Requests are requests, not royal decrees, but Cast Members can often note preferences or help you figure out what is realistic. Pro tip: if you’re doing a midday break and absolutely do not want anyone knocking during nap time, use the Room Occupied sign. Just remember that sign is not a magical legal shield. More on that in a minute. Can You Ask for Extra Towels, Coffee, or Toiletries? Yes. If you need additional housekeeping amenities or have a specific request, Disney says you can visit the Front Desk or contact Housekeeping using your in-room phone. This is the part where we gently remind everyone: ask before you are in a towel crisis. ©Disney If you have four people showering after a pool break and you know the towel math is going to get grim, call early. If you drink in-room coffee like you are personally powering Space Mountain, request more coffee supplies. If you need extra toilet paper, do not wait until the situation becomes cinematic. Mickey Towels at French Quarter While there is no option to pay for extra bed-refreshing service, guests can request fresh towels, more coffee, or trash removal on non-housekeeping days by calling Housekeeping or stopping by the Front Desk. In other words, you may not be able to buy a full extra room refresh at every resort level, but you can absolutely ask for the basics. Disney would rather bring you towels than have you attempt to dry off with a Spirit Jersey. Can You Decline Housekeeping? Yes. You can decline housekeeping at any time during their stay by speaking with a Cast Member in person or by placing the Room Occupied sign on the door. However, the opt-out feature is no longer available during online check-in. The Little Mermaid Rooms in Caribbean Beach Resort This is helpful for guests who prefer privacy, have sleeping kids, work remotely from the room, are traveling with nervous pets, or simply do not want anyone entering the room during the stay. However, declining housekeeping does not mean Disney will never enter your room. This is important, so let’s put a little highlighter on it. The Room Occupied Sign Is Not a Force Field Disney reserves the right to enter any room at a Disney Resort hotel for maintenance, safety, security, or other purposes, even if the Room Occupied sign is displayed. Hotel staff will give reasonable notice before entry by knocking and announcing their intent to enter. Room occupied sign This is part of Disney’s safety and security policy, and it’s not unique to housekeeping. You may hear these referred to as room checks or wellness checks. The big thing to know is that declining housekeeping does not guarantee zero entry. Bathroom So if your room looks like a suitcase exploded during a popcorn festival, live your truth. But maybe don’t leave anything sensitive, fragile, or embarrassing sitting out where a Cast Member entering for safety or maintenance reasons could encounter it. This is not the time to create a Haunted Mansion scene with your laundry. What About Trash If You Decline Housekeeping? Even if you decline housekeeping, trash may still be collected. For safety reasons, trash continues to be collected when housekeeping is declined, and guests who need supplies like coffee, towels, or toiletries can call Housekeeping or visit the Front Desk. Living area And honestly? Daily trash removal matters at Disney World. Florida heat, plus leftovers, plus wet paper cups is not a fragrance journey anyone requested. If you have a lot of trash, especially food trash, bag it neatly. Don’t make the room smell like a mobile order graveyard. Is Tipping Mousekeeping Customary? Tipping housekeeping at Disney World is not required, but it is customary for many guests, especially in U.S. hotel culture. There is no official mandatory Mousekeeping tip. You are not going to be tackled by the Tipping Police outside the lobby if you forget cash. But housekeeping is physically demanding work, and many Disney guests choose to tip as a way to thank the Cast Members who keep their rooms clean. © Disney The amount is up to the guest, but note that $5 per day is an average estimate. If you are going to tip, we recommend leaving cash in an envelope clearly marked for housekeeping and tipping daily, since the person cleaning your room may change during the stay. How Much Should You Tip? Here’s our practical Disney World guideline: For a standard room with light use, $3 to $5 per housekeeping visit is a solid starting point. For a family, consider $1 to $2 per person per housekeeping visit. For suites, villas, messy rooms, special requests, or “we spilled chocolate milk on the bed at 11 PM” situations, tip more if you can. If your room gets daily housekeeping at a Deluxe Resort, tipping daily makes sense. If your room gets every-other-day housekeeping, tip on service days. If you decline housekeeping for the whole stay, but the room will need a serious checkout clean, consider leaving a checkout tip. Polynesian Island Tower Villa Cash is best. Leave it somewhere visible with a note that clearly says “Thank you, Housekeeping” or “For Mousekeeping.” Do not leave random cash on a nightstand and expect everyone to magically understand your intentions. That is how awkward sitcom misunderstandings are born. Also, Cast Members generally cannot accept random gifts or food as gratuity, so stick with cash and kind words. The Ultimate Guide to Tipping at Disney World What If You Have a Dog in Your Room? Disney World does allow dogs at a small number of designated dog-friendly resorts. The four Disney Resort hotels with designated dog-friendly accommodations are Disney’s Art of Animation Resort, Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – Riverside, Disney’s Yacht Club Resort, and The Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort. The Campsites at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort also accommodate dogs. Dogs are the only pets allowed, with a maximum of two dogs per guest room. Dogs are expected to be well-behaved, leashed in public areas, and properly vaccinated. ©Fox News There is also a nightly pet fee. The charge is $50 per night plus tax at Art of Animation, Port Orleans Riverside, and The Cabins at Fort Wilderness. At Yacht Club, the charge is $75 per night plus tax. Now, the big housekeeping detail: housekeeping service is only available when dogs are not present in the guest room. Disney’s pet policy says guests should call Housekeeping from the in-room phone to schedule a cleaning time. If a cleaning time is not scheduled, a Housekeeping Cast Member will contact the guest to schedule one. The policy also says dogs should not be left unattended in the room for more than seven hours. Pluto This is not Disney being dramatic. This is safety and common sense. Even a friendly dog can react differently when a stranger enters “their” temporary hotel kingdom. Housekeeping Cast Members should not have to play “Will This Dog Love Me or Defend the Ottoman?” as part of their day. If you bring a dog, you need to coordinate housekeeping. That may mean taking the dog for a walk, bringing the dog with you while the room is serviced, or scheduling around your resort break. ©Disney Disney’s pet policy also says guests receive a Room Occupied door hanger as part of Pluto’s Welcome Kit and should display it to alert Cast Members that dogs are present. Use it. This is not the time for subtlety. Can You Bring Your Dog to Disney World? Where Can Dogs Go at the Resort? Dogs staying in dog-friendly rooms are not granted an all-access VIP lanyard. Other than service animals, dogs are not permitted in theme parks, water parks, or common areas such as restaurants, pools, and recreational spaces. ©Disney Dogs can use designated relief areas at dog-friendly resorts. They should be leashed or in a carrier outside the room, and guests are responsible for care, behavior, and waste cleanup. So no, your dog cannot join you at the pool bar for a vacation margarita. Honestly, your dog probably has better judgment than most of us and would order water anyway. What If Someone Has Pet Allergies? Disney says there are no dog-free areas at the four dog-friendly resort hotels: Art of Animation, Port Orleans Riverside, Yacht Club, and The Cabins at Fort Wilderness. Guests who prefer to stay at a hotel that is not dog-friendly should choose another Walt Disney World Resort hotel. Scar Disney also says all other Walt Disney World Resort hotels remain canine-free to accommodate guests with allergies or other needs, and that Disney has a thorough cleaning process and will work to accommodate individual needs. Service Animal Area Important caveat: service animals are different. Service animals are not pets, and different rules apply. What If You Have a Service Animal? Disney defines a service animal as a dog or miniature horse individually trained to do work or perform tasks for an individual with a disability. Service animals must be under the control of the owner at all times and should remain on a leash or in a harness. Cast Members are not able to take control of service animals. Disney also distinguishes service animals from emotional support animals, comfort animals, and pets. Only trained service animals are permitted inside Walt Disney World theme parks, water parks, and Disney Springs. Emotional support animals, comfort animals, and pets are only permitted at designated pet-friendly Walt Disney World Resort hotels. Beauty and the Beast in Pup Form Service animals must be housebroken and behave appropriately. Service animals should not bark, growl, jump on, or lunge at other guests or Cast Members, and corrective action must be taken if the service animal is not behaving appropriately. When it comes to housekeeping, service animals are not treated the same as pets. Disney’s pet policy specifically notes that the listed pet rules do not apply to service animals. Pluto riding Dumbo That said, practical coordination is still your friend. Because Cast Members cannot take control of service animals, it’s smart to speak with the Front Desk or Housekeeping if your service animal will be in the room during service or if you need cleaning at a particular time. The goal is not to create barriers. The goal is to make sure everyone, guest, animal, and Cast Member, can move through the day safely and respectfully. A Definitive Ranking of EVERY Disney World Hotel! Housekeeping Etiquette That Helps Everyone You do not need to deep-clean your own room before housekeeping arrives. That would be like washing dishes before putting them in the dishwasher, which half of us do, and half of us consider a personality flaw. Dish wash time But there are a few things you can do to make housekeeping smoother. Put trash in trash cans or gathered bags. Keep valuables secured. Move personal items off the bed if you want the bed made. Hang or pile used towels clearly. Do not leave wet towels on furniture. Call for biohazard-level messes instead of hoping someone discovers them. Use the Room Occupied sign when needed. Tip clearly, preferably daily or on service days, if tipping is in your budget. Living room! And please, please do not make housekeeping navigate a minefield of open suitcases, charging cords, and mystery snacks. Cast Members are talented, but they are not Indiana Jones. 6 Things Disney World Restaurant Cast Members Want To Tell You But Won’t Because They’re Too Nice The Final Room Check Housekeeping at Disney World is not one-size-fits-all anymore. It depends on your resort category, your booking type, your length of stay, and whether you are traveling with a dog or service animal. Duck towel! For most guests, the simplest rule is this: Deluxe Resorts get daily housekeeping, Value and Moderate Resorts get every-other-day housekeeping, and DVC points stays follow a separate schedule. If you need something, ask early. If you do not want service, use the Room Occupied sign, but remember Disney can still enter for safety, security, or maintenance reasons. If you bring a dog, coordinate cleaning carefully. And if you can tip Mousekeeping, especially on service days, it is a kind gesture for Cast Members doing very real work behind the curtain. Donald Duck art in a refurbished Beach Club room Because at the end of a long Disney day, after the sunscreen, snacks, fireworks crowds, bus lines, stroller parking, Lightning Lane refreshes, and one emotional debate over whether a bubble wand is “worth it,” there is something deeply glorious about returning to a clean room. Beach Club A made bed. Fresh towels. Empty trash. That is not just housekeeping. That is the unglamorous little miracle that keeps your resort room from becoming a snack-strewn crime scene. DOLE Whip has been a staple in Disney Parks since 1986, a full decade after Dole Packaged Foods became the sponsor of Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room at Disneyland. The treat spread to Disney Parks all over the world, and well, as they say, the rest is history. New DOLE Whip Flight! Now, DOLE Whip has expanded well beyond the standard pineapple soft serve treat we all know and love. Now, you can get DOLE Whip sundaes and DOLE Whip floats, as well as a variety of DOLE Whip flavors that go WELL beyond pineapple. One of our fave spots to grab DOLE Whip in Disney World is Swirls on the Water in Disney Springs because every so often, they offer a brand new DOLE Whip Flight (aka a sampler) with some new flavors. Well, a new DOLE Whip Flight just dropped, and we’re trying it out! The new DOLE Whip Flight includes a Pineapple-Vanilla Swirl DOLE Whip, a Strawberry-Banana Sundae, and a Watermelon-Lime Swirl for $8.99. Three Dole Whips for just $9? Yes, please! This is such a great way to sample DOLE Whip flavors if you can’t make up your mind which one you want to try. But we will warn you, it was a hot day, and these DOLE Whip samples turned to mush pretty fast! The new flight! The Pineapple-Vanilla Swirl is your standard Pineapple-Vanilla Swirl DOLE Whip, that combo of DOLE Whip Pineapple and Vanilla Soft Serve that is somehow just so gratifying. It’s nothing unique, but it’s nice to have a classic DOLE Whip treat on the flight. It’s also served with a pineapple slice. Pineapple-Vanilla Swirl The Strawberry-Banana Swirl, though, is a little more interesting. It’s DOLE Whip Strawberry swirled with Banana Soft Serve, topped with Strawberry Sauce, Whipped Topping, and Roasted Peanuts. And, y’all, if you love a classic peanut butter and jelly sandwich, that’s EXACTLY what this tastes like. The strawberry DOLE Whip almost tastes like strawberry yogurt. The banana tasted very artificial, like banana-flavored candy, but it doesn’t really take away from the flavors. The only thing is this one is MESSY. Strawberry-Banana Swirl The Watermelon-Lime Swirl is DOLE Whip Watermelon combined with DOLE Whip Lime with White Sprinkles. Now, we love both of these flavors individually, and combined, well, they taste like a Watermelon Blow Pop Lollipop. No, really! This one is on the sour side, and we LOVED IT with the watermelon flavor standing out the most. The sprinkles don’t really add anything but crunch. Watermelon-Lime Swirl So if you’ve been looking to try some new DOLE Whip treats, head on over to Disney Springs because these are available now separately, or as part of the flight. In the meantime, we’ll keep a lookout for more new food in Disney World, so stay tuned to DFB for more. Packing a carry-on sounds simple until you’re standing in your bedroom surrounded by a pile of stuff that absolutely will not fit, staring down a budget airline’s personal item policy like it personally wronged you. ©Amazon Anyone who’s traveled to Disney World on a Frontier flight (or any budget airline) knows the particular stress of trying to avoid bag fees while still bringing everything you need for the parks. The good news is that one very clever backpack on Amazon has genuinely changed the way a lot of travelers pack, and it’s worth knowing about before your next trip. DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission. The Bag That Does the Airport AND the Parks ©Amazon Here’s the thing about most travel backpacks: they’re either great for the airport or great for a full park day, but rarely both. You end up lugging two bags, constantly swapping stuff between them, or leaving important things behind because you didn’t want to carry a hiking pack through EPCOT all afternoon. The Sinaliy Travel Backpack fixes that. ©Amazon At 16.9 x 11.8 x 7.87 inches, it meets the personal item size requirements for most airlines, so you’re not paying extra fees at the gate. But it’s also genuinely built for the parks, with a padded laptop and iPad compartment (up to 16 inches), a dedicated wet pocket, a side water bottle slot, and enough organizational pockets to keep everything from your portable charger to your sunscreen exactly where you expect it. ©Amazon It opens 180 degrees flat like a suitcase, which makes packing and finding things mid-trip so much easier. It even comes with a separate waterproof toiletry bag, which is a surprisingly thoughtful inclusion at this price point. Side compression buckles keep things tidy when you’ve inevitably overpacked just a little. If you’re doing a quick weekend trip and want to skip checked baggage entirely, this bag can hold your clothes, your park essentials, and your toiletries all at once. That’s a real convenience win. ©Amazon Take a look at it before you start packing for your next trip. view ON AMAZON The most frustrating part of travel planning is usually the packing logistics, and the right bag can genuinely take a lot of that stress off your plate. A backpack that keeps you under airline size limits while still functioning as a full park-day bag is the kind of practical find that makes a real difference on the ground, whether you’re navigating a security line or pushing through a crowd to catch the afternoon parade at Magic Kingdom. We’re always on the hunt for the latest and greatest Disney souvenirs and essentials, so don’t forget to stay tuned to the Disney Food Blog for more! View the full article

When thinking about Disney World hotels and places to stay, we don’t see Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort getting a lot of love. Maybe it’s because this resort is targeted more towards convention goers, or maybe it’s because it’s not perceived as exciting as some of Disney’s other moderate resorts. However, we might argue that you’re missing out if you don’t consider Coronado Springs for your next stay. Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort This hotel has a clear Latin influence, with a blend of Spanish, Mexican, and Southwest American cultures that you’ll see in the hotel’s decor and architecture. We recently stayed in a Tower room in the Gran Destino Tower at Coronado Springs…and let’s just say this $400 hotel room feels like it could have cost a whole lot more. So, let’s take a tour of this hotel room, shall we? We stayed in a Tower Room with Resort View. This specific class of room has a view of the courtyard, landscaping, or parking lots with two queen beds. It’s designed to sleep up to four adults. As you can see, this room looks pretty bougie with elegant and understated decor, and it’s obvious that these rooms were designed with business travelers in mind. Tower Room with Resort View Each bed comes with four comfy pillows, so you can find the perfect pillow to help you sleep well when you’re not racing around the theme parks. Pillows On the bed closest to the door is a full-length mirror. Mirror Between the beds, you’ll find a table with a phone, lamp, and a card with hotel-specific details. Notice the bell details on the lamp. Table between beds Note that there are small reading lamps by each bed. Reading lamp The room also has a large window with curtains. The curtains have a Spanish-themed design. Curtains This resort view room gave us a view of the parking lot. It’s still not a bad view, though, because you can see SO FAR throughout Disney World! Our view Across from the bed, in the far corner, you’ll find a comfy seat with a small table and lamp. Reading chair This is also where you’ll find the Disney Alexa device for the Hey, Disney voice assistant. Hey, Disney! Next to that is the counter and drawers underneath the TV area with spaces for storage, as well as a trash and recycling bin. Drawers Need to do some work? You’ll find some empty table space and a chair set up nearby. Desk chair and area Of course, you’ve got a big TV to watch Disney TV on! Disney TV Next to that, underneath the counter space, is a beverage cooler. Mini fridge Above the beverage cooler, you’ll find a coffee maker, coffee, tea, and more, along with an ice bucket and cups. Coffee maker, ice bucket, and more You’ll find some pretty artwork on the walls. Artwork You’ll find a thermostat nearby. Thermostat The closet is in the little hallway that leads into the main part of the room. Inside, you’ll find hangers and garment bags. Closet The top shelf has an extra pillow and blanket. Extra pillow and blanket The closet also includes an ironing board… Ironing board …and iron. Iron A luggage rack is also folded up inside the closet. Luggage rack The closet is also where you’ll find the safe if you need a place to store valuables. Safe Okay, let’s check out the bathroom! Bathroom It features a huge mirror. Mirror You’ll find soap and body lotion amenities on the counter beneath the mirror. We bet you can smell that soap right now! Amenities You also get mouthwash, a shower cap, and a vanity kit with cotton swabs, cotton pads, and a nail file. More amenities This counter has two sinks. Also, look at that fun tile design. LOVE IT. Sink close-up Towels are hanging on the far wall. Towels If you need tissues, you’ll find them here. Tissues More towels are under the sinks. Under the sinks You’ll also find extra towels on the shower/bathtub door. More towels A nice, high, and wide shower head is inside the shower. You’ll also find a handheld showerhead. Shower head Shampoo, conditioner, and body wash are attached to the wall in dispensers. Shampoo, conditioner, and body wash The bathroom has another trash bin. Another trash bin The toilet is in its own little separate area in the bathroom for privacy. Toilet So if you’re looking for a stay that’s a little different — and feels more upscale — than Disney’s other moderate resorts, you might want to consider booking a Tower Room at Coronado Springs. Disney really said MORE, MORE, MORE! Recently, Disney held their earnings call and released its earnings report for the second quarter of 2026. Magic Kingdom Throughout the call, Disney revealed some big news, and they discussed lots of hints at the future. One big takeaway? They’re focused on doing more and more. On May 6th, 2026, Disney held its earnings call, which was the first earnings call held under the leadership of Disney’s NEW CEO, Josh D’Amaro. During the call, Disney gave some updates on their financial position, how the theme parks are doing, how the film studio is doing, and more. One way to summarize the hour-long call? Disney is saying “more”! Josh D’Amaro at Destination D23, 2023 ©Disney They aren’t just talking about one aspect of the company either; they’re talking about doing more across all silos! When it comes to Disney Cruise Line, they reiterated the continued growth of the fleet from 8 ships now to 13 by 2031. This is after launching several new ships over the last 4 years, including Disney’s newest ship, the Disney Adventure. They’ve also already confirmed the next ship will be called Disney Believe, which is debuting in late 2027. The Disney Adventure In the world of theme parks, what is the company NOT doing to grow? It’s no secret that there are several theme park expansions going on at the time of writing. They are currently developing tons of projects, including Monsters Inc. Land, Villains Land, Piston Peak, The Walt Disney Studios, Pueblo Esperanza, the Disneyland Forward Project, the expansion of Disney Adventure World, and more. That’s just scratching the surface! They’re also developing Disneyland Abu Dhabi, which will be a brand-new theme park. ©Disney They also discussed that these changes are to drive MORE attendance too! In the report, Disney confirmed that global guests grew 2% compared to the prior-year quarter. They also revealed that attendance at the domestic parks declined 1% when compared to the prior-year quarter. Disney partly attributed that to “continued softness in international visitation.” Attendance might be down at the domestic parks, but we would argue that all of these additions to the parks will lead to more attendance in the coming years. Main Street crowds It’s not just about vacation experiences. Disney is also focusing on more content. From short form to sports to Disney+ to movies and more, they are focused on creating more content across all platforms. When discussing ESPN, Disney reported that revenue was at $4.6 billion for the quarter, up 2% from the same time last year. Despite that, operating income was reported at $652 million, which was down 5%. ©ESPN In terms of streaming, Disney reported revenues of $11.7 billion, up 10% from the same time last year, along with an operating income of $1.3 billion, up 6%. This includes Hulu, Disney+, and films in theaters, as well as their other entertainment options. How are they going to capitalize on this and do more? There are lots already in the works. In 2026 alone, new films are coming out, including The Mandalorian & Grogu on May 22nd, Toy Story 5 on June 19th, the live-action Moana on July 10th, Hexed on November 25th, and Avengers: Doomsday on December 18th. @MarvelStudios Instagram They’re also aiming to be even more efficient. The company has focused heavily on technology implementation, specifically AI, within the company. They’ve made it clear that they’re going all in with AI by fiscussing its commitment to embracing technology more aggressively. In the earnings call, Disney discussed how they aim to use AI as a long-term opportunity that can be used in a way that still respects human creativity. ©Disney They shared that they believe AI can make their production process more efficient and increase the amount of content the company can put out. They have stressed that they don’t want to replace human creativity, but they want to give human creatives better tools to help them do what they do best. They have also shared that they want to use AI within the streaming platforms to give better recommendations to users. The theme parks and experiences will also see the impact of AI. ©Disney Disney also detailed their desire to use AI to make planning trips and optimize their time in the theme parks. They have also said that AI could be used to predict labor demands by forecasting how many Cast Members might be needed in the parks on any given day. It was also recently revealed that Disney is attempting to streamline internal operations by requiring Cast Members to use AI. EPCOT The overall goal is to make it easier to do more while spending the same amount in a way that benefits guests and Cast Members. So in other words, doing more! In the same earnings call, Disney also detailed their long-term strategy by sharing their “three pillars”: Investing in IP and creativity that breaks through, builds connections, and endures Reaching more consumers in more seamless, engaging ways around the world Using advanced technologies to power our storytelling and increase monetization and returns ©Disney Disney certainly has a lot in the works, and we think they’re just getting started. We’re eager to see what details they will release about all of their projects at the D23 Expo in August 2026, which is where they typically reveal big company news each year. We’re also eager to see how these numbers and goals will fluctuate in the Q3 and Q4 reports. Some Disney World traditions are gone for good, and 2026 is already making that crystal clear. People in costume riding Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster one last time Between major attraction overhauls, permanent closures, and long-overdue upgrades, this year has reshaped the park experience in ways that longtime fans are still processing. If you’ve been visiting Disney World for years, there’s a good chance at least one of your go-to moments looks completely different now. Here’s a look at four Disney World traditions that are officially off the table in 2026. Rocking Out to Aerosmith on Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster For nearly three decades, blasting through the dark at Disney’s Hollywood Studios while “Toys in the Attic” rattled your eardrums was a rite of passage. That tradition came to an end on March 2nd, 2026, when Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith officially closed its doors for a full re-theming. Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster is closed! The coaster itself isn’t going anywhere, just the rock legends. Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets opens on May 26, 2026, and honestly, the concept sounds like an absolute blast. The story follows Kermit, Miss Piggy, and friends scrambling to get Electric Mayhem to their biggest Hollywood concert ever after the band gets too caught up jamming at G-Force Records, now under the management of J.P. Grosse, Scooter’s uncle. You’ll hop into a super-stretch L.I.M.O. (that’s a Lengthy Immediate Motion Object, courtesy of Muppet Labs) and launch from 0 to 57 mph in 2.8 seconds through 3 inversions. ©Disney The soundtrack features Electric Mayhem covers of classics like “Born to Be Wild,” “Love Rollercoaster” featuring Jennifer Hudson and Questlove, and “Rock! Rock! (Till You Drop)” featuring Def Leppard. Celebrity cameos from Neil Patrick Harris, John Stamos, Travis Barker, Wayne Brady, and more are woven throughout the experience. It’s a totally different vibe than Aerosmith, but it looks like Disney is swinging big with this one. Rock ‘n’ Rollercoaster Starring The Muppets Catching the Last Dinosaur at Animal Kingdom DINOSAUR was the kind of ride that gave first-timers genuine nightmares and kept longtime fans coming back for more. The rickety time-rover vehicles, the pitch-black darkness, the giant Carnotaurus lunging at your face, it was chaotic and beloved all at once. That experience is now permanently in the past. ©Michael Huang on Facebook The attraction closed for good on February 2, 2026, with its final day of operation landing on February 1st. After a run that stretched back to Animal Kingdom’s opening era, DINOSAUR is making way for a new Indiana Jones attraction as part of the upcoming Tropical Americas land. It’s a genuinely exciting future for that corner of the park, but there’s no denying that saying goodbye to a ride this iconic stings. If catching that dino was your thing, you’ll have to find a new Animal Kingdom ritual. Grabbing a Sprinkles Cupcake (and Hitting the Cupcake ATM) at Disney Springs Not every loss involves a ride. For a lot of guests, a Disney Springs visit wasn’t complete without stopping at Sprinkles, and specifically, without hitting the famous Cupcake ATM for a late-night frosted fix. That option is completely gone now. Every Sprinkles location in the United States closed permanently on January 1st, 2026, including the Disney Springs outpost. Sprinkles Cupcakes is closed And Sprinkles wasn’t the only Disney Springs closure this year. Francesca’s shuttered all of its locations on March 29th, and Shore, the beachy boutique that called Disney Springs home, closed on April 30th. The good news is that a CrazyShakes pop-up from Black Tap opened in the former Sprinkles space on March 2nd, serving some seriously massive, shareable shakes. Black Tap It’s only around through May 31st, so catch it while you can. Making Fun of the Frozen Ever After Animatronics Okay, this one is a change for the better, but it still means the end of an era. If poking fun at the slightly wonky, projected faces on the Frozen Ever After animatronics was your guilty pleasure tradition, that’s over now. The old Frozen Ever After animatronics Disney upgraded the EPCOT ride’s animatronics at the start of 2026, replacing the original 2016 figures with the stunningly lifelike versions that debuted at Hong Kong Disneyland in 2023 and absolutely went viral for how realistic they looked. Frozen Ever After at EPCOT Anna, Elsa, and Kristoff now look incredible, and the “Let It Go” scene in particular is genuinely impressive. It’s a welcome upgrade after years of those projected faces aging pretty awkwardly, but there’s something faintly nostalgic about those old, slightly unnerving faces that we’ll never fully admit we miss. Change Is Part of the Disney World Experience Disney World has always evolved, and these three closures are a reminder that nothing at the parks is permanent. New attractions are coming, the dining scene keeps shifting, and what feels like a fixture today can be gone by next year. That’s part of what keeps the parks worth watching so closely. We’re sharing our top tips to help take your stay at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge from great to INCREDIBLE! Disney’s Wilderness Lodge Did you know you can experience the rustic beauty of the Pacific Northwest, just a few minutes away from Magic Kingdom? Disney’s Wilderness Lodge is a gorgeous Deluxe Resort in Disney World, inspired by the classic lodges of America’s National Parks. Between the hotel’s theming and its proximity to Magic Kingdom, it’s one of our top choices when we want a relaxing hotel that’s still super close to the action of the parks! There’s already a lot to love about this hotel, and we’ve got some expert tips to help make your stay at Wilderness Lodge the best time EVER! Here are six tips to take your stay at Wilderness Lodge to next-level awesome! Take Full Advantage of the Great Dining Options We’re coming out of the gate hot, because one of our absolute FAVORITE things about Wilderness Lodge is the incredible lineup of restaurants found at the hotel! First up, we’ve got to give a shoutout to the character dining spot Story Book Dining at Artist Point with Snow White, which serves up an impressive prix-fixe meal, with visits from Snow White, Dopey, and Grumpy throughout the dinner. Snow White at Storybook Dining This restaurant has SO MANY highlights, from the characters to the gorgeous ambiance to the delicious menu. Storybook Dining at Artist Point In fact (spoiler alert!), we even ranked Storybook Dining as our top table service restaurant in ALL the Disney World hotels in a recent ranking video on our YouTube channel! But the great dining doesn’t stop there! Whispering Canyon Cafe is another table service spot popular for its down-home skillet-style meals and the playful antics of the servers. Think 50’s Prime Time Cafe, in terms of the server interactions here, just without the family member angle at Prime Time! Meal at Whispering Canyon Geyser Point Bar & Grill offers both a table service lounge and quick service dining in a super relaxing, outdoor space that really lets you soak up the atmosphere that Wilderness Lodge is known for. Full spread at Geyser Point Territory Lounge is another favorite of ours, thanks to the cozy vibes and our personal menu highlight, the cheese fondue! Fondue at Territory Lounge When we stay at Wilderness Lodge, we always look forward to taking full advantage of all the great dining right in our hotel! Just make sure to snag an Advance Dining Reservation for any of the table service restaurants you plan to visit since they can fill up fast — ESPECIALLY Storybook Dining at Artist Point! Use Boat Transportation to Magic Kingdom Even though Wilderness Lodge is considered a Magic Kingdom area hotel, it isn’t on the Monorail line like most of the other Magic Kingdom hotels are. But that doesn’t mean you’ve got to stick to the “standard” bus transportation to get to the park. There’s a boat dock right outside the hotel that offers direct boat transportation to Magic Kingdom! Boat at Wilderness Lodge The boats offer a scenic and relaxing ride across Seven Seas Lagoon, and it drops guests off right outside the main entrance to Magic Kingdom. Three cheers for avoiding the Transportation and Ticket Center! The ride itself usually takes about 10-15 minutes, but remember to factor in some potential time waiting for a boat to arrive if you’re on a tight timeline for a reservation in Magic Kingdom! Dock at Wilderness Lodge Taking a chill boat ride to Magic Kingdom (or back to your hotel at the end of a long day) is a welcome change of pace from the constant stimulation in the park, and we take full advantage of it whenever we stay at Wilderness Lodge! Enjoy the Unique Theming We’ve already touched on it a bit, but one of the huge selling points of Wilderness Lodge for us is the beautiful, outdoorsy theming. And there are plenty of fun elements around the hotel that really lean in to the National Parks design! Disney’s Wilderness Lodge You’ll find plenty of water features throughout the property, like waterfalls and streams, both outdoors AND indoors! Water Feature in the Lobby Area One of the most impressive water features is Fire Rock Geyser, located near the Wilderness Lodge pool. Inspired by Yellowstone National Park’s Old Faithful, the geyser erupts at the top of each hour throughout the day, sending water 120 feet into the air! Fire Rock Geyser When you’re ready to cozy up, there are several places around the resort to relax by a roaring fireplace, including the large gathering fireplace in the lobby. We LOVE the fireplaces! The gorgeous, rustic theming of the hotel is so tranquil, it’s hard to believe all the activity of Magic Kingdom is just across the lagoon! If having a calm hotel to retreat to is at the top of your priority list, you’ll love all of the soothing elements around Wilderness Lodge. Watch the Fireworks & Electrical Water Pageant from the Beach What better way to cap off a relaxing hotel day than by enjoying TWO nighttime spectaculars right from your resort?? Happily Ever After from Seven Seas Lagoon The Electrical Water Pageant is a classic, floating nighttime parade that sails across Seven Seas Lagoon. The illuminated floats feature whimsical sea creatures, accompanied by music that is piped in around the viewing areas. Be sure to check the nightly showtimes during your visit so you know when to post up in your viewing spot! Electrical Water Pageant Plus, you can see the Magic Kingdom fireworks from across Seven Seas Lagoon! Both the water pageant and the fireworks are visible from the Wilderness Lodge beach. You can also spot them from some other areas around the hotel, like Geyser Point and from select hotel rooms, but the views aren’t guaranteed and might be obstructed, so if you want the best shot at a clear view, head to the beach! Plan an Outdoor Activity at the Nearby Fort Wilderness Speaking of great ways to spend a hotel day, the nearby Fort Wilderness Resort is home to TONS of unique activities that you might be shocked are even offered in Disney World! Guests can’t currently walk directly from Wilderness Lodge to Fort Wilderness due to construction, but the boat transportation can take you to the neighboring resort. Horses at Tri Circle D in Fort Wilderness A few of the fun things you can try in Fort Wilderness include horseback riding, pony rides, archery, fishing, and canoe rentals, among others! Tri-Circle D Ranch trail rides Each of these Fort Wilderness activities is a paid experience, but they can totally be worth it if your travel party wants to enjoy a day of excitement outdoors! Archery Remember to check the list of activities ahead of your visit and make reservations in advance if they’re offered, as they can fill up, especially around peak travel times! Visit During the Holidays for Extra Ambiance All of the Disney World hotels get decked out for the holidays, but we still have to give an extra shout-out to Wilderness Lodge’s take on holiday decor. Wilderness Lodge gets gorgeous seasonal decorations, starting with the MASSIVE Christmas tree in the hotel lobby. Christmas Tree at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge We could spend hours checking out all of the ornaments that perfectly fit with the hotel’s theme! Wilderness Lodge Ornament The rest of the lobby and seating areas are also decorated with garland, wreaths, and festive lights. Christmas Decorations There are so many details to explore! Wilderness Lodge Wreath In previous years, Wilderness Lodge has also featured a massive gingerbread cabin in the lobby during the holiday season, although the full-size version hasn’t returned to the hotel since 2019. The gingerbread cabin definitely isn’t a guarantee, given its extended hiatus, so don’t count on this one at Christmas. But, of course, if Disney does announce its return for a future holiday season, we’ll update you right away! Disney Wilderness Lodge Resort’s Gingerbread Cabin 2019 The Christmas decorations around Wilderness Lodge truly take the cozy vibes of the hotel to the MAX! Wilderness Lodge is one of our favorite places to stay in Disney World, and these tips can help you get the most out of your time in the resort! Ahead of Cool KIDS’ SUMMER, Walt Disney World is supporting Central Florida education in a big way, announcing a $1.3 million investment for education programs, visiting local elementary schools, and surprising teachers with Disney theme park tickets. As another great school year wraps up, we wanted to celebrate students and educators across Orange, Osceola, Lake, Polk, and Seminole counties the best way we know how: by bringing a little Disney magic straight to their schools. The Goof Troop Drops into Local Schools We surprised local elementary schools with a taste of the fun families and young children can experience during Cool KIDS’ SUMMER at Disney World. Kindergarten and pre‑K students were treated to zany, wacky, and downright goofy fun coming to GoofyCore at EPCOT this summer. The Goof Troop dropped in to help their pal Goofy get things moving and grooving, as the schools’ youngest students jumped right into seriously silly (and seriously fun!) activities. But the magic didn’t stop when the final bell rang. After students headed home, we invited teachers, administrators, and school staff to stick around for an extra‑special round of games, complete with a big “thank you” for everything they do to support students each and every day. To show our appreciation, each educator received tickets to visit Walt Disney World with their families. A Big Investment in the Central Florida Community These school visits are just one piece of Disney World’s ongoing support of education in Florida. Alongside bringing the fun of Cool KIDS’ SUMMER, we’re also proud to bring meaningful funding that helps education programs thrive. This summer, that includes a $1.3 million donation supporting all five local school districts, along with nonprofits like Elevate Orlando, A Gift for Teaching, and programs such as the Orlando Philharmonic Young People’s Concert and Disney Musicals in Schools through the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts. That monetary donation makes a difference where it’s needed most, funding opportunities in STEM, literacy programs, arts education, and more. From playful moments shared at school to the unforgettable fun families can experience together in the parks, Cool KIDS’ SUMMER is all about sparking joy, creativity, and connection. Families can join the fun when Cool KIDS’ SUMMER returns to Disney World from May 26 through September 8. Disney Magic Cruise Ship These Cast Members were among 28 people who were arrested due to child sexual abuse material (CSAM), according to Variety. I have one tradition every Halloween season that I follow, no matter what. I watch Hocus Pocus and Hocus Pocus 2 on repeat. I cannot get enough of the Sanderson Sisters. I even have a black cat named Thackery Binx, so it’s no secret that I’m a fan. ©Disney Well, you can imagine how excited I am to share the news with you that a third Hocus Pocus movie is in the works, according to Deadline, and it’s bringing back the Sanderson Sisters for one more fun adventure! It shouldn’t come as a big surprise that a third Hocus Pocus movie is in the works. The Hocus Pocus 2 sequel to the original film set a record for its streaming debut on Disney+. We first got word that Disney was interested in a third film in June 2023 when Sean Bailey, the president of Walt Disney Studios Motion Picture Production, confirmed that Hocus Pocus 3 was happening. Shortly after that, Disney confirmed that Anne Fletcher, who directed the second movie, would direct the third. At the time, a script was being worked on for the third movie. ©Disney Well, it’s been crickets for three years, but now, Hocus Pocus 3 is reportedly in early development at Disney Live Action Studios. But here’s the BEST part: Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kathy Najimy are on board to reprise their roles as the Sanderson Sisters. YES! Disney would not confirm if the third movie would be a theatrical release or for Disney+, though. Disney has also not revealed any plot details for the third movie. ©Disney So why has it taken so long to get to this point? Well, Deadline’s sources say there was a halt in negotiations about salary with the three actresses, but those have now been worked out (whew). So this time, it sounds like it really is — and FINALLY — happening. Now, if we could get Disney to get some previous cast members on board from the first film…well, then we’d be ALL SET, wouldn’t we? We’ll be keeping an eye out for more Hocus Pocus news, but in the meantime, stay tuned to DFB for more. 5 Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party Rules Disney Is Enforcing in 2026 Join the DFB Newsletter to get all the breaking news right in your inbox! With all the construction going on at Disney World, this location has kind of fallen under the radar. However, we noticed some big changes were happening! Disney’s BoardWalk Disney’s Boardwalk Resort used to be home to a very popular bar called Jellyrolls, until it closed down in April 2025. Since its closure, Disney has been working on the building, and construction has been ramping up. We went to check out the progress, and a lot of work has been done. We’re just wondering what is going to be coming to this spot. When you look at this building, you wouldn’t know that this is where Jellyrolls stood if you’d never been there before. Old Jellyrolls building There are walls up all around the building… Walls are still up! …and the interior of the building has been cleared out! The interior is gone! Disney hasn’t confirmed what will be taking over this spot, or what we can at least expect to arrive at Disney’s Boardwalk. Whatever it is, we’re sure it’ll be a great addition to the popular Disney resort, adding some more activities to do. What we can assume is that with the rapid progression of construction, we should be hearing about what’s happening soon! What’s coming here? Jellyrolls officially closed on April 19th, 2025, but it’s not the end for the dueling piano bar. It didn’t take long for the confirmation that a NEW Jellyrolls is coming, and this one will be just 10 minutes away from the original location. Construction has already begun on this new space, and we’re looking forward to seeing it when it opens. Jellyrolls This new version of Jellyrolls will still be for adults 21 and up. It will also have free parking, as well as a space to be dropped off by rideshare. Expect Jellyrolls to feature more technologically advanced lighting and sound, as well as a prominent stage. Jellyrolls We’re going to be keeping an eye out for everything happening with the old Jellyrolls location at Disney, as well as the new Jellyrolls that will be coming. The Disney Adventure Cruise Ship has canceled a sailing when passengers were on board the ship. Disney Adventure Yes, Disney’s newest cruise ship, which has been sailing for roughly 2 months, has had to cancel one of its itineraries at the last minute. Here’s what we know and what you can do if you find yourself in a situation like this. According to the Straits Times, Disney had to ask guests to disembark from their cruise on May 8th. Disney shared that a mechanical issue caused the voyage to be cancelled. The guests were already on board when they were asked to leave, signalling that Disney tried to get the issue fixed until the last minute. Disney Imagination Garden The ship, which is located in Singapore, was originally planning to set sail from the Marina Bay Cruise Center on May 7th, when passengers originally boarded. The guests waited overnight to see if the sailing would still happen. A Disney spokesperson confirmed the Disney team is still working on the mechanical issue. The Marina Bay Cruise Center The cruise was originally going to be a five-day, four-night cruise. While instances like this are rare, they can happen! What happens when your Disney Cruise gets canceled after you arrive? The Disney spokesperson confirmed that they are working directly with the guests to “provide support for their travel needs.” That means Disney will try to help you directly with the issues created by a cruise cancellation. They gave a letter to travelers sharing that they would get a complimentary hotel room at JW Marriott Singapore South Beach, and they would cover any flight change fees. They also confirmed they will give $500 USD per stateroom for other incidentals. Alley Cat Cafe Disney will also try to keep the fun going as long as they can. Until Disney canceled the sailing, food and entertainment had gone on uninterrupted for guests to enjoy. While you’re on board, they will do their best to make it a classic “Disney” experience. Deluxe Garden View Stateroom They are also providing guests with a full refund. This will include any unused portions of prepaid packages, which could be photography or on-board Wifi. Disney is also providing 50% off on future Disney cruises. Cancelations like this can be stressful and overwhelming, so always try your best to keep your cool while Disney handles the details on your behalf. Disney Adventure The Disney Adventure has had some issues, even before setting sail. The ship was originally supposed to launch in December 2025, but it was delayed until March 2026. The biggest attraction on the ship, Ironcycle, is a coaster at sea that didn’t run at all during the maiden voyage we were on. We did enjoy our time on the ship (and had lots of big feelings about it), but it wasn’t without its issues. On board the Disney adventure Every new Disney ship has growing pains, so if you’re headed onto a new ship not long after its debut, be prepared for some bumps in the road. We hope the ship can work out any issues it has very soon! As always, be sure to keep following DFB for more Disney news, updates, and more. Will Disney World be suspiciously empty in 2027? Here are the reasons why people might be holding off on a trip next year! Cinderella Castle When it comes to a Disney World vacation, sometimes it feels like crowds are inevitable, from long wait times for attractions to bottlenecks and heavy traffic in the parks. But even though it seems more and more like there isn’t much of a “slow season” for Disney World, is it possible that 2027 could actually be a slow year? Let’s dive into some reasons why Disney World might be in for a slower 2027… Ongoing Construction There’s a lot in development around Disney World right now, with MAJOR expansions and land retheming currently happening in almost every park. Starting in Magic Kingdom, both Villains Land and the Cars-themed Piston Peak are under construction, branching out near Frontierland. Villains Land ©Disney Pison Peak is coming to the area of Frontierland that previously housed the Rivers of America and Tom Sawyer Island, and it will feature two new Cars attractions. Disney has said that the land design will be inspired by the National Parks and even include a geyser inspired by Old Faithful called Old Tankful. So this is a big deal retheme and definitely not a “new coat of paint” situation! Piston Peak Not to be outdone, Villains Land will feature two major attractions, plus new dining and shopping experiences on a grand scale, based on what Disney has shared so far. Disney hasn’t yet revealed an opening timeline for either Magic Kingdom project, but considering the scale of the work, it’s unlikely that they’ll be finished by 2027. Villains Land announced at D23 (2024) Over in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, the former Muppets Courtyard area is currently being transformed into Monstropolis, a brand new Monsters, Inc.-themed land. In addition to a new show, the land will also be home to Disney’s first-ever suspended coaster, adding even more hype for the project. Disney hasn’t announced an opening timeline for Monstropolis yet either, so it’s uncertain whether it will debut before the end of 2027. ©Disney And finally, over in Disney’s Animal Kingdom, the former DinoLand, U.S.A. is being transformed into Pueblo Esperanza, a land that will highlight the Tropical Americas through the stories of Encanto and Indiana Jones. It will be home to an Encanto ride featuring the Madrigal family, a new Indiana Jones adventure ride, plus a carousel. Disney has announced that Pueblo Esperanza is slated to open in 2027, but a specific date hasn’t yet been given, so it’s unclear at what point during the year it could start welcoming guests. Pueblo Esperanza Model On the plus side, there are several ride rethemes that were either recently completed or will be finished soon, like Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster, and Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run. But with so many MAJOR expansions and land rethemes currently in progress, some people may be holding off on visiting Disney World until some (or all) of them have officially opened, especially if it’s a once-in-a-lifetime trip. Price Increases Disney typically increases prices each year, so everything from tickets to food gets increasingly more expensive. Price updates can happen at any time, but Disney usually does large-scale annual price increases sometime in October. EPCOT This makes it harder and harder for guests to visit as regularly as they might otherwise plan to. With annual trips getting harder to find in the budget, some people may need to wait longer between trips or decide to hold off until it’s “worth it” for another visit, like when new rides and lands open. Pueblo Esperanza construction There are strategies for planning a more budget-friendly vacation, like checking for Disney World hotel discounts, using a grocery delivery service so you don’t have to dine out for every meal, or eating at restaurants off Disney property. Grocery Delivery Money-saving strategies can help make regular trips more doable, but again, with so many big additions in the works, some people might prefer just to wait it out for a few more years… Or be forced to do so, based on their budget. New Vacation Options There are more and more new vacation options on the market for people who enjoy Disney, or theme parks in general. With that in mind, some people might bypass Disney World next year in favor of other new(er) experiences. Epic Universe Just a few miles down the road from Disney World, Universal’s new park, Epic Universe, is still relatively new, having opened in May 2025. Visitors who only get to come to Orlando every few years might choose to spend their next vacation in Universal, so they can experience Epic Universe for the first time. Fyre Drill in Epic Universe And for Disney Cruise Line fans, there are TONS of new ships to check out. Three new ships have already set sail in the past few years — the Disney Treasure (2024), Disney Destiny (2025), and Disney Adventure (2026). Haunted Mansion Parlor on the Disney Destiny Plus, a FOURTH new ship, the Disney Believe, is also scheduled to set sail in late 2027! ©DisneyCruiseLine There are plenty of exciting features across the new ships that could be destination-worthy in themselves for some guests, like The Haunted Mansion Parlor on the Disney Treasure and Disney Destiny, and Marvel Landing on the Disney Adventure. Getting to experience all the new spots on one of the latest Disney ships might be enough of a draw to convince some people to get their Disney fix at sea in 2027! Pym Quantum Racers on Marvel Landing Whether it’s another theme park or just another Disney destination, the increasing number of vacation choices — with several new heavy hitters recently entering the arena — could peel some Disney World regulars away from their go-to spot in 2027. There’s a LOT happening around Disney World, and things can change fast, so we’re constantly on the lookout for any major updates that could impact your vacation plans! Yes, you read that right, ANOTHER closure has hit Disney World. Disney Springs has been swamped with closures this year, like Sprinkles Cupcakes, Francesca’s, and Shore. Disney Springs Now, another store has formally closed its doors, and we only got a week’s warning! Goodbye, goodbye, goodbye Johnston & Murphy! This store is (was) located in Town Center in Disney Springs, and it’s known for premium footwear, apparel, outerwear, and accessories for both men and women. The DFB husbands are devastated by this news! Johnston & Murphy This very popular brand has been custom-designing shoes for U.S. presidents for well over a century, including Lincoln, JFK, and Obama. So yes, they’re tried and true classics! The store’s last day was Thursday, May 7th. Cast Members confirmed they are packing up all of the merchandise to move it to other Johnston & Murphy stores. If you need some of their classic finds, they still have stores at Orlando Vineland Premium Outlets and Orlando International Premium Outlets on International Drive. Johnston & Murphy The company is opening a new store in October at The Mall of Millenia, where the staff will be transferred. This store is just the next in a long line of closures for Disney World’s shopping and dining district. Shore had its last day of operation on April 30th, Francesca’s clothing store closed its doors on March 29th, and Sprinkles Cupcakes closed on January 1st. Shore Disney hasn’t confirmed any replacements for the closed businesses, although Black Tap Craft Burgers & Shakes has opened a limited-time pop-up in the old Sprinkles location. We also know that Gideon’s Bakehouse is opening a new restaurant, Six Ravens, later this year. We’re eager to see what new stores start to pop up over the next year or so to replace these closures.
