Disney World hotel rooms aren’t just where you collapse after 28,000 steps, a camera roll full of Instagrammable snacks, and ugly-cry during a fireworks show. They are also full of weird little surprises. Bay Lake Tower Some of them are practical. Some of them are adorable. Some of them are oddly specific in a way only Disney could pull off, because the Disney marketing team snuck a tiny hotel-room detail that makes you whisper, “Wait, did Mickey just emotionally manipulate me into booking another trip?” (Yes. Yes, he did.) So, before you toss your MagicBand on the nightstand and start arguing over who gets the bed closest to the AC vent, here are a few Disney World hotel room surprises you may not know about. Hey Disney! Can Give You a Proper Goodbye Sorry, we’re starting this article by saying goodbye. If you have a “Hey Disney!” device in your Disney World hotel room, you may want to chat with it before you leave. Specifically, tell it that it’s your last day. Because Disney looked at departure day, already the saddest pile of luggage, coffee, and denial imaginable, and said, “Let’s add feelings.” Hey Disney! When you tell Hey Disney! it’s your final day, the Fab Five can pop in for a little sendoff. Mickey and pals thank you for coming, remind you to visit again, and generally make you feel like your vacation has personally been tucked into bed by your closest five animated Disney friends. Hey Disney! It’s cute. It’s also mildly devastating. And yes, Mickey, we will come back. We always come back. That’s kind of the problem. Even if you’re someone who normally ignores the in-room voice assistant because you already have enough devices listening to your snack debates, this is one of those small Disney details that feels worth trying at least once. You Can Have Your Own “Hey Disney!” at Home & Here’s How! There May Be a Tiny Footstool Hiding Under Your Sink This one is dangerously cute. In some of Disney World’s recently refurbished hotel rooms, you may find a little footstool tucked under the bathroom sink. It is there so younger kids can reach the counter more easily, which is genuinely helpful if your morning routine involves toothpaste, sunscreen, and one child who has somehow become fully damp without taking a shower. Additional storage and seating But Disney did not stop at “useful.” Some of these footstools, like the ones at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, also have a hidden Mickey on the bottom. The bottom. The part of the footstool most people will never inspect unless they are either a very curious child or a Disney adult who has been trained by years of wallpaper, carpeting, lamps, railings, shrubbery, and suspiciously round drawer pulls. MICKEY! That is the level of detail we’re dealing with here. Disney could have just given you a stool. Instead, it gave you a stool with a secret mouse stamp hiding underneath it like a tiny corporate wink. If you’re staying in a newly refreshed room, check under the sink. Your kid may get a practical step up, and you may get a new hidden Mickey to dramatically report to your group chat. Some “Standard” Rooms Can Fit a Fifth Guest For the most part, a standard Disney World hotel room sleeps up to four guests. That is the mental math most people use when they start pricing out a trip. Two beds. Four people. One bathroom. Everyone pretends we’re fine. But there are some Disney World hotel rooms that can sleep an extra guest without forcing you to jump all the way up to a villa, family suite, or the kind of room category that makes your credit card quietly crawl under the couch. Bay Lake Tower At moderate resorts like Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort and Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – Riverside, you can find 5th sleeper room options. These rooms typically include two queen beds plus a child-size pull-down bed tucked into the wall. 5th Sleeper in The Little Mermaid Rooms Is that fifth bed enormous? No. This is not where your six-foot uncle is going to recharge like royalty. It is best suited for a kiddo, or possibly a very determined smaller human who thinks a wall bed is the height of vacation luxury. Still, this can be a huge deal for families of five who do not want to split into two rooms or pay for larger accommodations. How convenient The key detail here is that you need to book the correct category. Do not assume every room at those resorts comes with the pull-down bed. When you’re booking online, look for the room category that specifically mentions the 5th sleeper or child-size pull-down bed. Disney will not magically unfold a secret fifth bed from the wallpaper just because you arrive with one extra child and a prayer. Port Orleans Riverside Murphy Bed But be careful about those extra fees! The price of your room changes if there are three adults in a room compared to two adults and one kid. Yup — you read that right! The price will increase once another adult is added to your Disney hotel room reservation. So be sure to keep this in mind if you’re trying to use this bed to sneak in an extra adult because reality is, you can’t. ROOM TOUR: Come See The NEW Royal Rooms At Disney’s Port Orleans Riverside Resort A Parking Lot View Might Give You Fireworks Normally, when a Disney hotel room says, “water view,” people immediately understand the appeal. Pretty lake! Sparkly reflections! Vacation atmosphere! You can sip your coffee and pretend you are the kind of person who journals on a balcony instead of checking Lightning Lane availability with anxiety-driven determination. But over at Gran Destino Tower at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort, the more surprising view might be the cheaper one. Gran Destino Tower at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort When you book at Gran Destino Tower, you may see options like resort view and water view. The water view is often the more expensive pick, and to be fair, it can be gorgeous. Coronado Springs is a beautiful resort, and Gran Destino has that polished “I packed linen pants” energy. Room View to the Right But some resort-view rooms in the tower face out toward EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios. That means, at night, you may be able to see fireworks from your room. Are we talking “full deluxe theme park view, music piped in, emotional symphony from the balcony” levels of fireworks viewing? No. Let’s not start selling that castle-view fantasy from a Coronado parking lot angle. But can you see bursts of nighttime spectacular joy from a room category that may cost less than those official fireworks-view rooms elsewhere on property? Absolutely. Here’s the view at night from Dahlia Lounge! If you’re booking Gran Destino and want to try for this, consider requesting a higher floor with a view toward EPCOT or Hollywood Studios. Room requests are never guaranteed, but this is one of those cases where the “less glamorous” room category can come with a sneaky little perk. A parking lot by day, fireworks by night. Very Cinderella, if Cinderella had booked a moderate resort. FULL TOUR of a Deluxe Club Suite Room at Gran Destino Tower in Disney World One Beach Club Room Is Basically EPCOT’s Roommate Disney’s BoardWalk Inn, Yacht Club, and Beach Club are all EPCOT-area resorts, which means they come with one of the greatest Disney World luxuries of all: walking to EPCOT. No bus. No monorail transfer. No standing in a transportation line, wondering why your family suddenly cannot walk in a straight line. You just stroll over to the International Gateway entrance, which drops you into the World Showcase side of EPCOT near the France and U.K. pavilions. A dangerous location if you are easily influenced by pastries, which I am. Deeply. Disney’s Beach Club Resort But if you want the closest possible room-to-EPCOT setup, Beach Club has a very specific little legend attached to it. Room 1501 is located near a side door that opens out toward the EPCOT walkway. It is not exactly a neon-lit “secret portal,” but it can feel like one when you are heading back from EPCOT after fireworks, and the lobby suddenly feels 400 emotional miles away. So close to EPCOT Rooms near 1501, especially in that general stretch, can put you incredibly close to the International Gateway path. We’re talking “I forgot something in the room, and I’m not immediately furious” close. You can request a specific room or area, but Disney does not guarantee room requests. You can call Disney Resort Hotel Reservations and ask to have the request noted on your reservation, but do not build your entire vacation strategy around one room number. Still, if EPCOT is the main character of your trip, requesting a room near that Beach Club side entrance is a very smart move. 25 Things You May Not Know Your Disney World Hotel Can Do For You! Saratoga Springs Has Rooms That Make Disney Springs Way Easier Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa is one of those resorts that sounds peaceful and convenient on paper, and it can be both. It is also enormous. This resort is not a compact little hotel where you blink and suddenly arrive at the lobby. Saratoga Springs spreads out across multiple sections, which is wonderful if you like a quieter resort feel and a little breathing room, but less wonderful if your feet are killing you at the end of the day. Saratoga Springs One of the biggest perks at Saratoga Springs is the pedestrian bridge that connects the resort to Disney Springs. That means shopping, dining, lounges, snacks, and “we were just going to browse” purchases are all within reach. But not every room is equally close to that bridge. Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort If easy Disney Springs access is a priority, you’ll want to request the Congress Park section of the resort. That is the area closest to the walkway bridge, and it can make a huge difference if your ideal evening involves strolling over for dinner, grabbing a Gideon’s cookie, or somehow ending up at World of Disney with a basket full of things you did not technically need. Congress Park Could you still take a boat or drive from other parts of Saratoga Springs? Sure. But if the whole appeal is walking to Disney Springs, Congress Park is the room request you want in your pocket. Again, not guaranteed. Disney room requests are wishes, not contracts. But this is one of those requests that can genuinely change how the resort functions for your trip. THIS is Why We Warn You About Weekends At Disney Springs BoardWalk Inn Has Garden Rooms That Feel Like Tiny Disney Houses Disney’s BoardWalk Inn already has a strong personality. It has Crescent Lake, the BoardWalk entertainment district, easy access to EPCOT and Hollywood Studios, and the general atmosphere of a turn-of-the-century seaside vacation where everyone is wearing stripes and someone is definitely about to sell you saltwater taffy. But tucked into the resort are some especially charming rooms that a lot of guests do not know exist: the Garden Rooms with Club Level access, often referred to by longtime Disney fans as Garden Suites or Garden Cottages. BoardWalk Inn Cottages These are not your typical hotel rooms. They feel more like little private homes tucked into the resort’s garden area, with outdoor charm, extra privacy, and a very “I live here now, forward my mail to the BoardWalk” kind of energy. These are currently listed as Garden Room Club Level category as sleeping up to two adults with one king bed, plus club-level access. These rooms are limited, which makes them feel even more like a secret handshake for people who know exactly where to look. The living room! Historically, these have been known for their cottage-like setup, garden views, and that tucked-away feeling that makes the BoardWalk feel less like a hotel and more like a tiny coastal neighborhood with significantly better access to EPCOT snacks. They are not going to be the cheapest rooms at the resort. Club Level and “adorable little garden hideaway” are not usually budget-friendly phrases. But if you want a romantic, quiet, slightly storybook-feeling Disney hotel room, this is one of the most surprising options on property. And pack a cute outfit — the white picket fence energy demands it. FULL TOUR: The Hidden Disney World Hotel Suites That’ll Make Your Jaw DROP Your Hotel Room Has More Secrets Than You Think Disney World hotel rooms can be expensive, and yes, sometimes the biggest surprise is the nightly rate. But hidden inside all that vacation math are some genuinely fun details, useful room categories, sneaky views, and tiny pieces of pixie dust you might miss if you treat your room like nothing more than a sleep-and-shower space. No shame in a mid-day nap! So, inspect the footstool. Talk to Hey Disney! before you leave. Look closely at your room category. Make the room request. Check the map before assuming your resort section is “close enough.” Because sometimes the best Disney hotel room perks are not the loud ones. They are the quiet little surprises tucked under the sink, behind a side door, or just outside your window after dark. BoardWalk Inn And if Mickey personally tells you to come back on your last day? Well. Who are we to argue with the mouse? Pirates of the Caribbean. Is there any more beloved classic Disney ride? It’s become so popular that it even launched a series of highly successful movies, and we’re not going to get tired of it any time soon. So let’s talk about it. If you want to see this technology for yourself, Pirates of the Caribbean has reopened in Disneyland with this new animatronic. At around 9:15 A.M., the wait time was only about 20 minutes, too, so now is a good opportunity to ride this classic attraction and decide for yourself if this new technology works for it. When it comes to dining at Disney World, you’ve got a TON of options. Want something quick and easy? You’ve got it. Something middle-of-the-road and comforting? Yep, that too. And if you’re looking for something upscale and luxurious, you can find that as well. La Creperie de Paris We recently stopped by La Creperie de Paris at EPCOT to see what was cookin’, and now we’re bringing you our FULL review. Is it worth a stop on your next trip to the Most Magical Place on Earth? Find out here! Atmosphere La Crêperie de Paris is located in EPCOT’s France Pavilion, though you may not spot it right away. It’s tucked away in the expanded section of the pavilion near Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure, making it a bit easy to miss if you don’t know where to look. In this area, you’ll actually find two different spots serving crepes. One offers a full table-service dining experience, while the other is a convenient quick-service window. La Crêperie de Paris is the sit-down restaurant, and Crêpes À Emporter by La Crêperie de Paris is the grab-and-go option. La Crêperie De Paris For this review, we’re dining at La Crêperie de Paris, but if you’re simply in the mood for a crepe without committing to a full meal, the quick-service window is a fantastic alternative. Inside the restaurant, the design is understated and elegant, featuring a neutral color palette with plenty of brown, gray, and cream tones. Wood and stone details throughout the space help create a warm, inviting atmosphere. Inside La Creperie De Paris Artwork depicting scenes from Paris lines the walls and adds a welcome burst of color to the dining room. We especially enjoy how these paintings bring a little piece of Paris into the restaurant. Since La Crêperie de Paris is relatively small, we suggest making an advance dining reservation when possible. That said, we’ve frequently noticed walk-up availability, so don’t rule it out if you haven’t planned ahead. Plenty of seating But enough about the restaurant — what’s on the menu here?! Menu You can choose from the Soupe du Jour or a Salade Maison as an appetizer. You can also choose to select the Prix Fixe Menu, which is a popular option at this restaurant. With the Prix Fixe Menu, you get either the soup of the day or the Salade Maison, a choice of a Galette, a choice of a Dessert Crêpe, as well as a choice between hard cider, soda, or juice. ©Disney You can also get the Prix Fixe Menu for kids, which includes a choice of a Galette (brie cheese, ratatouille, or ham and cheese) and one Dessert Crepe (sugar, red berries, or hazelnut chocolate spread). The restaurant offers a variety of galettes (or buckwheat crêpes). ©Disney As well as Dessert Crepes like Sucre, Banane, and Poire. ©Disney And now, onto the drinks! Drinks To drink, we picked up the Demi Sec Hard Cider as part of the prix fixe. You can buy this by the glass for $7.95 or by the bottle for $32. On the first sip, this had a sharpness we could immediately taste. The whole drink was very bubbly, and the bubbles lasted the entire breakfast. There wasn’t a flavor that really stood out to us in this drink. It wasn’t very sweet, but it did have a slight apple flavor. Demi Sec Hard Cider Eats We decided to go with the Prix Fixe Menu for $39.95. The Prix Fixe Menu comes with the choice of Soup of the Day or Salade Maison; choice of one Galette with a Glass of Hard Cider, Soda, or Juice; and Choice of one Dessert Crêpe. First up, we grabbed the Soupe du Jour for our appetizer. We tried the Vegetable Garden Soup. Vegetable Garden Soup The herbs are reminiscent of a minestrone. There were some large chunks of vegetables throughout that included cucumber, zucchini, onion, and squash. This was on the thinner side for a soup, but we didn’t mind the consistency. The croutons had a little crunch but had soaked up a lot of the flavor of the soup, which was a good thing ultimately. We enjoyed the croutons! For our prix fixe entrée, we tried the Savoyarde. This crepe is made with Raclette Cheese, Caramelized Onions, Bacon, and Imported Bayonne Ham. The edges were really tough to cut through, making us feel like we had never used a fork and knife before. The onions were very sweet, while the ham was very salty, giving it a balance. Savoyarde The buckwheat on its own had a slightly over-toasted sourdough taste. The bacon was fatty and a little chewy in a good way. This was salty and sweet. For dessert, we tried the Pomme. This crepe is made with Caramelized Apples and Caramel Beurre Salé. This is what stole the show for us. The pieces of apple are so soft, but not mushy. There’s so much apple filling in this crepe, and we couldn’t get enough. Pomme The caramel isn’t sickeningly sweet. The crepe itself is really thin and easy to cut through because it’s so soft. We would make a special trip to get this crepe again in the future. This was delicious! Nosh or Not This Disney World restaurant is a must-visit if… You’re looking for a nice, air-conditioned, sit-down table service meal. Not only is this meal delicious, but it’s an amazing break from the Florida heat. You’re looking for something different than your average theme park meal. We love a good, unique meal, and that’s exactly what you get at this spot. You want a lot of food for a good price. We love that you can get all of this food at a Disney World restaurant for only $40! That is an amazing deal for the quality and quantity you’re getting with this meal. You should skip this Disney World spot if… You’re not a fan of prix-fixe menus. This style of dining is not for everyone, and if you don’t love it, but you still want to try the crepes, we would suggest checking out the Crêpes À Emporter by La Crêperie de Paris window. You don’t love crepes. This whole menu is ALL about crepes, so if you are not a fan, then we would suggest trying some of the other fantastic dining options around World Showcase, you might enjoy more. Overall Overall, we had a positive experience dining here, especially since we arrived during a quieter time and were seated immediately. The air conditioning was a welcome escape from the Florida heat, though the decor is fairly simple and understated. One thing to keep in mind is that the space can get quite noisy, as the acoustics cause conversations to echo throughout the dining room, making it seem louder than it actually is. This might be something to keep in mind for guests who are sensitive to sounds. Outside dining Considering you’re essentially getting four courses for around $40, this meal offers a lot of value for the price. However, it’s also an incredibly filling experience, so come hungry because you’ll likely leave feeling very full. The Pomme was the highlight of our meal here! As always, we’ll continue keeping an eye out for more Disney World restaurant updates and reviews, so stay tuned to Disney Food Blog for the latest Disney news, dining tips, and more. LEVEL99 has officially opened in Disney Springs, and we have loved checking it out and exploring everything this brand-new facility has to offer. LEVEL99 We got to experience all the fun, and we have BIG thoughts. Now that we’ve got some time to think, we are finally ready to reveal the best games you can find at LEVEL99! LEVEL99 is a massive interactive game experience with over 63 different mental and physical challenges for you to play with your family and friends. After checking out the brand-new attraction, we are officially ready to share our favorite games so you know exactly what to prioritize on your next visit. LEVEL99 In case you didn’t know, there are several types of games at LEVEL99. There’s one solo game (the Axe Run), several physical games, and several mental games. Level99 officially breaks them up into Rooms, Duels, and Art Hunts. Each game, aside from Axe Run, is designed for groups of 2-6 people, so if you and your family like a mix of games, we have a mix of favorites. Level99 in Disney Springs For brain games, we had a few favorites! Brain Cells… Brain Cells …Crystal Vision… Crystal Vision …Enter Password… Enter Password …and the Magician’s Sideshow all stood out to us. If you’re looking to work your brain and have a ton of fun with your group, this is a great way to have some screen-free fun! Magician’s Sideshow Some notable puzzle games were the Mansion Gallery and Mansion Banquet! Mansion Banquet allows you to act as a dinner party planner. During the game, you’ll race against a timer to seat party guests by perfectly matching their ideal seat, dinner, and drink using clues scattered around the room. Mansion Banquet In Mansion Gallery, you go through art to look for clues and decipher riddles. This one is a test of logic and delusion! Mansion Gallery! Physical games were also SUPER fun for our group of 4. 8-bit Lava is a physical agility game that’s inspired by the very popular Floor is Lava game! Ninja Swing is similar to 8-Bit Lava, but it involves players testing their grip strength, balance, and precision by using ropes to swing across a series of tricky platforms while they try to avoid touching the ground! Pirates Brig is a game where your entire team needs to climb through a barred window to escape, but you can’t set off the metal sensors! Pirates Brig Finally, Wild Orchard was one that really stuck out to us! In this seriously tricky game, we have to navigate through a confined and obstacle-filled room without triggering the pressure sensors. Inside Wild Orchard These games were so fun and competitive, so be aware that this could bring families close together or maybe cause a few fights! (But fun, limited-time fights.) One of our reporters even said, “This is tumbling class, gymnastics class, the president’s physical fitness challenge, Bikram yoga work study, and every other physical fitness option wrapped into one.” We really love this experience, and we think it is a phenomenal addition to Disney Springs. We will continue to keep you posted on all the LEVEL99 news, so stay tuned with Disney Food Blog, so you never miss anything! This NEW Disney Springs Restaurant Just Took A BIG Step Towards Opening! A LOT of new things are coming to Disney World this summer. But out of all the fun newness, one of the things we were most excited to experience at Disney Springs is LEVEL99, an interactive, challenge-based social space for adults featuring 63 life-sized physical and mental games and challenges, opening on June 29th. Pineapple Banana Painkiller In addition to the games and challenges, LEVEL99 features a central two-story bar with craft food offerings. The two-story bar is encircled by glowing neon lights visible throughout the venue, making the food an integral part of the atmosphere. So obviously, we had to try the whole menu to see if the food lives up to the hype! To drink, we got the Pineapple Banana Painkiller for $13.50. This is made with Clean Co. Clean Rum alternative, Giffard alcohol-free pineapple liqueur, banana, coconut cream, lime, and nutmeg in a zero-proof mocktail. This is one of Level99’s Pouched Cocktails, which are basically like an adult CapriSun. Pineapple Banana Painkiller This Painkiller is non-alcoholic, but made with a zero-proof rum, so you still get the spiced taste of a traditional Painkiller. It had a lot of pineapple and banana juice, which was super refreshing after walking around in the Florida heat. This was thicker than a traditional Painkiller, almost a smoothie-like consistency, but it still came out of the pouch just fine. While the pouch seemed gimmicky at first, we found it was very practical to carry into all the venues to play games while drinking! Pineapple Banana Painkiller To eat, we tried the Loaded Elote Guacamole for $12. These are tortilla chips served with charred corn, queso fresco, lime crema, tajín, and cilantro. Loaded Elote Guacamole This elote guacamole is housemade, and it tasted so fresh! The dip itself is like a thick queso, so it’s cheesy and salty. There are a lot of corn pieces mixed in, and they’re all charred to add a great crunch. The tortilla chips are also housemade, and they’re so salty and flavorful that we could eat them by themselves and be happy. Loaded Elote Guacamole We loved trying this new food at LEVEL99 at Disney Springs. Stay tuned to Disney Food Blog for more Disney World food reviews! If you’re visiting Disney World soon, it’s likely that you’ll take advantage of at least one of Disney World’s table service restaurants (or more because there are SO many great ones!). You are also probably aware that a tip is customary when dining at table service restaurants. Disney World Receipt However, for some, a new Florida law will change how that works in restaurants. We’re going to get you up to speed on this law and explain how it will affect your dining at Disney World table service restaurants. In 2025, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis signed a new bill into law that requires “Every public food service establishment which charges an operations charge includes an automatic gratuity or service charge in the price of the meal shall include notice on the food menu, written contract, and website or mobile application where food and beverage orders are placed, as applicable, that includes the amount or percentage of the operations charge and the purpose of the operations charge.” Dining at Be Our Guest Basically, that means that every restaurant that adds an automatic gratuity or tip to a bill needs to let the customer know before they dine that this will be the case. The law even goes so far as to say that the font size of the notice should be equal to or greater than the font size used for menu item descriptions. If the restaurant doesn’t provide menus or any kind of written contract, the notice must appear on a menu board or a clearly legible sign by the register where the customer pays. Boma Granted, in Disney World, a gratuity or tip is not generally automatically added to a bill unless you have a group of six or more people, but a restaurant will need to make sure there’s a notice establishing that fact. However, both Cinderella’s Royal Table and Hoop Dee Doo Musical Revue pre-include a gratuity on the bill regardless of party size. Cinderella’s Royal Table This new law officially goes into effect on July 1st, so you’ll want to keep an eye out for those notices when you visit a restaurant in Disney World or anywhere else in Florida. We’ll keep an eye out for more Disney World news, so stay tuned to DFB for more. So many new lands are currently in progress in Disney World, with one of the biggest being Monstropolis in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. @bioreconstruct on X The land is taking over the former Muppets Courtyard, and we’ve been following along closely with construction since the beginning to see how it’s all been coming along. The new coaster coming to the land is to be Disney’s first-ever suspended coaster, and based on what we’ve seen so far, it’s going to be BIG, and that’s only being confirmed by these new photos we just got of its status. @bioreconstruct on X was just able to get some fantastic flyover photos of how the roller coaster is looking from above. From what we can see, it’s clear that the structure’s width/base floor appears to be mainly complete, as now Disney is working on building upwards. @bioreconstruct on X Multiple floors are now in the process of being built, and we can even see where track has begun to be placed on the service floor level! It also appears there is some track on the higher levels as well, which could be for the ride track in the first scene, according to @bioreconstruct. @bioreconstruct on X There’s still lots of work left to be done, of course, but we’re really thinking this land will hit its 2027 opening timeline, though we imagine it could be closer to the middle of the year rather than the beginning (but we can dream!). This might be one of the biggest Disney movie summers we’ve seen in a long time! ©Disney Toy Story 5 just released to theatres on June 19th, the live-action Moana drops on July 10th, and then Spider-Man: Brand New Day releases on July 31st. We have a lot of theatre visits on the horizon, but what about chilling at home and watching new movies on our couch? Disney announced the official date that one of its new movies, which came out earlier this year, will be making its way to Disney+! Gird your loins, everyone, because The Devil Wears Prada 2 will officially be available to stream on Disney+ and Hulu starting July 29th. The sequel to the 2006 fashion classic was released in theatres 20 years late, on May 1st, and soon you’ll be able to watch it from the comfort of your own home. ©IMDb If you haven’t seen the sequel, it follows Andy Sachs (Anne Hathaway) as she returns as the iconic magazine’s features editor. Meanwhile, Emily Charlton (Emily Blunt) is now a high-powered executive at Dior. Of course, Miranda Priestly (Meryl Streep) is back, but she requires help to get Runway back on top. The Devil Wears Prada 2 poster The sequel has been very successful at the box office, grossing $677 million worldwide as of right now. The movie features all your favorite stars reprising their roles, including Hathaway, Streep and Blunt, Stanley Tucci, Tracie Thoms and Tibor Feldman. On top of that, there are a handful of new cast members, including Kenneth Branagh, Patrick Brammall, Simone Ashley, Lucy Liu, B.J. Novak, Justin Theroux and Pauline Chalamet. ©Disney The next movie we’ll be patiently waiting to drop on Disney+ is Toy Story 5, which did JUST come out in theatres, so we won’t see it for a long time. Especially considering its success at the box office so far, making $300m globally in its opening weekend. This is the largest opening the franchise has ever seen. ©Disney Despite not knowing when the newest Pixar movie can be enjoyed on Disney’s streaming platform, we feel like we have a hunch on an estimated timeframe based on what we’ve seen in the past. If you haven’t seen Toy Story 5 yet, we highly recommend going to the theatre to check it out. The movie follows Jessie, Buzz, Woody, and the rest of the gang as the iconic characters take on technology. ©Disney We’re looking forward to watching The Devil Wears Prada 2 on Disney+ at the end of next month. We are still sweating through June, but Disney World is already asking us to make decisions about pumpkins, peppermint, and whether we are willing to pay hard-ticket-event prices while wearing a costume in Florida humidity. Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party! Yes, it is holiday planning season. No, your calendar is not broken. Disney World fans are already moving things around, rethinking dates, and doing the very glamorous vacation math that involves park tickets, hotel rooms, party tickets, snack budgets, and the quiet emotional cost of telling yourself, “Maybe we don’t need another Spirit Jersey.” The big reason? Disney’s holiday season is getting crowded, complicated, and expensive before the season has even properly begun. The Pumpkins Are Arriving Early Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is returning to Magic Kingdom in 2026, and this year it starts on August 7th. That is early! That is “your sunscreen is still fighting for its life” early. That is “I packed a vampire cape and three cooling towels” early. It’s Halloween in Disney World! The party runs on select nights through October 31st, which gives Disney fans a big window for Halloween fun. But that wide window does not mean every date is equal. Some dates are cheaper. Some dates are more popular. Some dates are more convenient for families. And one date, Halloween night, has already sold out. So, if you were waiting to plan your perfect October 31st Magic Kingdom Halloween night, that plan has already turned into a tiny ghost and floated away. Don’t Book Tickets for Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party in 2026 Before You Read This Halloween Night Is Already Gone October 31st is the obvious dream date for Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. You get the actual holiday, the actual party, the actual Main Street pumpkins, and the actual satisfaction of saying, “Yes, I spent Halloween in Magic Kingdom,” which is a sentence that sounds expensive before you even finish saying it. But that date is already sold out for 2026. This is why fans are changing plans now. Some are moving to earlier October dates. Some are looking at late September. Some are considering August because the tickets can be cheaper, even if the weather feels like the inside of a dishwasher. Disney math is rarely dignified. Boo To You! parade in 2025 And because party tickets are date-specific, there is not a lot of wiggle room once your preferred night sells out. You either adjust your trip, pick another party date, or skip the party entirely and use that money for something else. Possibly dinner. Possibly a hotel upgrade. Possibly 47 Mickey-shaped snacks. We do not judge. We merely observe with a Shakin’ Jamaican in hand. Why You Should AVOID Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party on This Random Friday The Party Prices Are Still a Lot Tickets for Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party range from $119 to $229 per person, plus tax, depending on the date. That means a family of four can be looking at hundreds of extra dollars for one night before adding flights, hotel, park tickets, meals, costumes, souvenirs, Lightning Lane, and the emergency poncho you swore you already packed. This is where the holiday trip budget starts to wobble. For years, a lot of fans treated holiday parties as a must-do. You booked the trip, you picked the party night, you watched the parade, you collected candy like you were preparing for a mild apocalypse, and you called it part of the Disney World holiday experience. 2025’s trick-or-treat bag! Now, more people are asking the uncomfortable but necessary question: Is the party the main reason we are going, or is it just one more expensive thing we added because we always do? That question is changing plans fast. Some Fans Are Trading Party Nights for Regular Park Days Here is the thing Disney does not always say loudly enough: You can still have a festive Disney World trip without buying a party ticket. Magic Kingdom usually gets decked out for Halloween during regular park hours. EPCOT’s Food and Wine Festival runs from August 27th through November 21st in 2026. Resorts get seasonal touches. Disney Springs gets festive. Snack menus start sprouting pumpkins and cinnamon like they were exposed to a very persuasive fall candle. This is Halloween! And once the Christmas season rolls in, EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays, which runs from November 27th to December 30th, 2026, is included with regular EPCOT admission. That means Holiday Kitchens, storytellers, the Cookie Stroll, and Candlelight Processional are all part of the regular park experience. Festival of the Holidays For Disney fans looking at the full cost of a holiday trip, that is important. A party ticket can be fun, but it is not the only way to feel like you are having a seasonal Disney vacation. This is especially true for repeat visitors. If you have done Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party multiple times, you may decide this is the year to skip it and spend that money elsewhere. Maybe you book a nicer dinner. Maybe you add a resort night. Maybe you finally stop pretending you are “just browsing” in World of Disney. 2 Weeks When the EPCOT Food and Wine Festival Could Be EMPTY Christmas Season Is Almost Here (Crazy, Right?) Disney has now released full details for both Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party and Disney Jollywood Nights in 2026, which means planners finally have real dates and prices to work with. Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party map Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party will run on select nights from November 7th through December 22nd, 2026. Ticket prices range from $169 to $229 per person, depending on the date, with the highest prices landing on the busiest December nights. Annual Passholders and Disney Vacation Club members can get limited discounts on select early dates. Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party is still the classic Magic Kingdom Christmas event. Think parade, fireworks, cookies, hot cocoa, festive ride overlays, and Main Street snow that makes everyone temporarily forget they are standing in Central Florida. Santa himself! Disney Jollywood Nights at Hollywood Studios will return on select evenings from November 9th through January 5th, 2027. Tickets range from $159 to $199 per person, again depending on the date, with peak pricing closer to Christmas week. Disney Jollywood Nights at Hollywood Studios continues to offer a different vibe, with vintage glam, entertainment, characters, and a slightly more relaxed party atmosphere. And yes, it still includes Kermit and Miss Piggy in Disney Holidays in Hollywood, which automatically improves its moral standing. More Muppets. Always more Muppets. Put Sam Eagle in a velvet holiday blazer and let the guy narrate the whole season. Jollywood Nights Now that the dates are out, fans are already adjusting plans again. Some people are shifting trips to line up with lower-priced early November party nights. Others are aiming for mid-December for peak holiday atmosphere, even if it costs more. And yes, some are still booking hotels first and figuring out party tickets later. The difference now is that planners are no longer guessing. They know the dates and the price ranges. And they can properly plan. NEWS: Disney World CONFIRMS the Return of Jollywood Nights at Hollywood Studios for 2026 Holiday Weeks Are Not Getting Easier Even outside the parties, the holidays at Disney World can be intense. Thanksgiving week, Christmas week, and New Year’s Eve are some of the most popular times to visit. The parks look gorgeous, the entertainment is festive, and everyone else had the exact same brilliant idea you did. Funny how that keeps happening. Crowds are a major reason some fans are shifting trips earlier. Instead of Christmas week, they may choose early December. Instead of Halloween weekend, they may choose September. Instead of Thanksgiving, they may aim for the first half of November before the full holiday stampede arrives. Magic Kingdom on Christmas Day This does not mean those earlier windows are empty. But timing can make a real difference. Early December can give you Christmas decorations without quite as much holiday-week pressure. September can give you Halloween offerings and EPCOT’s International Food and Wine Festival without late-October pricing. August can give you cheaper party nights, though it will also give you a very personal relationship with your deodorant. Choose wisely. How to Avoid Holiday Crowd Burnout in Disney World The New Strategy: Pick One Big Holiday Splurge This is where Disney fans are getting smarter. Instead of trying to do everything, more people are picking one big holiday splurge and building the trip around it. Maybe that splurge is Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. Maybe it is Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. Maybe it is Jollywood Nights. Maybe it is a Candlelight Processional Dining Package. Maybe it is a deluxe resort stay so you can walk into the Wilderness Lodge lobby at Christmas and temporarily ascend to a higher plane of pine-scented existence. That last one is not me being dramatic. Wilderness Lodge at Christmas is what happens when cozy wins a trophy. Wilderness Lodge But the point is this: You probably do not need to do every holiday add-on to have a great trip. Pick the thing you care about most. Book around that. Let the rest be a bonus. DFB Video: We Stayed at Every Disney World Resort Tier — Here’s What We’d Actually Pay For So Should You Change Your Holiday Plans? Maybe. If your dream was Halloween night at Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, you already need a new plan because that date is sold out. And now that Disney has released the 2026 Christmas party dates, you can finally start locking in those plans — but don’t wait too long. Popular nights for Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party and Jollywood Nights are expected to sell quickly, and those dates could shape where you stay and when you go. Grand Floridian Gingerbread House But if the price of the parties makes you wince, there is no shame in skipping them. Disney World during the holidays is still packed with atmosphere, decorations, snacks, and entertainment outside the hard-ticket events. You can still see pumpkins. You can still eat festival food. You can still wander through a resort lobby pretending you are a wealthy side character in a Christmas movie. The trick is knowing what you are paying for and what you are willing to skip. Disney Just Announced Everything Returning to Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party in 2026 Final Thoughts Before the Pumpkins Appear Disney World holiday planning has become less about picking a season and more about picking a strategy. The parties are popular, the best dates sell out, and the prices add up quickly. And now that Disney has released the 2026 Christmas party dates, fans are already spotting the busiest nights, circling the most convenient options, and adjusting plans before those prime dates disappear faster than a limited-edition popcorn bucket. Halloween at Magic Kingdom So yes, Disney World fans are changing their holiday plans. Some are shifting trips to line up with specific Christmas party nights. Some are skipping the most expensive dates. Some are still choosing earlier, cheaper, slightly sweatier Halloween nights. And some of us are simply standing in the middle of June, thinking about pumpkin wreaths, hot cocoa, and whether the budget has room for one more festive snack. We will keep watching for more Disney World holiday updates, party dates, ticket prices, sell-outs, and seasonal snacks. We just got a ton of news about the 2026 holiday season in Disney World. We got details about Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, as well as Jollywood Nights. We also got some details about the EPCOT Festival of the Holidays, as well as the official dates of this year’s holiday season. The Grand Floridian Gingerbread House! However, the biggest news to come out of all the holiday announcements was Disney World confirming that the giant gingerbread house at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa has gone away forever. And let’s just say, DFB readers had some thoughts about that news. In 2025, we understood why the gingerbread house was missing from the Grand Floridian’s hotel lobby. The lobby was getting a massive refurbishment that included a brand new lobby bar, The Perch. However, this year, Disney World confirmed that the giant gingerbread house was permanently gone and would be replaced with smaller displays created by Disney chefs. 2021 gingerbread house Needless to say, many Disney World fans took the news hard. When we asked DFB readers about it on Facebook, many of you shared your honest thoughts with us. A lot of you think the new lobby bar is at least partially to blame. Tommy wrote, “No more gingerbread house because they wanted a stupid bar.” Yvonne agreed: “If you get rid of the BAR there would be plenty of room for the Gingerbread house.” The Perch Some just feel like it’s another example of Disney World removing more magic from the resort. Lena commented, “So sad. They’re taking away all of the annual traditions. Lights on the castle, lights outside and now this.” Marla wrote, “Another piece of magic taken away.” Others wrote about how they were “devastated” and “heartbroken.” We get that. We were certainly disappointed by the news, too. Joy said, “I don’t understand why. It’s been a loved tradition for decades.” The Grand Floridian gingerbread house will be missed Many of our readers are just sad. Jeri commented, “I’m very sad. That gingerbread house was magical. I wish I could have visited it one last time. “ Phil wrote, “Super sad. I actually looked forward to seeing it on the videos each year. I hope they still sell shingles though.” Michael had an idea, though: “If they wanted to they could turn that eyesore of that bar into a Gingerbread Bar and maybe have gingerbread beer.” A gingerbread bar? However, we were surprised that a lot of folks applauded the change, especially those who spend the holiday season staying at the Grand Floridian. Here’s the thing…the giant gingerbread house brought a lot of crowds, including many non-resort guests to the hotel. Timothy commented, “Kudos Disney. If you’ve ever stayed at GF during Christmas then you welcome this change. I think they are taking care of their guests. Better still if they put it on an upper level that only GF guests could visit.” Grand Floridian lobby Becky agreed, “I’m happy about it. The only reason I stopped staying at the GF at Christmas time is i got tired of navigating the insane crowds in the lobby” Adiel commented, “It’s been there since 1999. It had a good run. I’m sure GF guests will appreciate having a quieter lobby during the Christmas season.” Amber wrote, “Good! It’s way too chaotic with everyone piling in to see stuff. Paying guests aren’t paying for that mess. They want to keep it they can move it into a building inside Epcot or something but these things need to come out of the resorts unless it’s restricted to guests of that resort only.” The new lobby Some just like the fact that things are changing, rather than staying stagnant. David commented, “I think it’s great. Welcome to change and different stuff to look at another reason to go there. How many years are you going to look at the same gingerbread house every year? The same thing same exact thing they they glue the gingerbread to the house. They take it down. They put it outside. They let the bees eat it. They put it back in the building. They do it again. I think it was enough they did it for 20 years enough.” Nita wrote, “Nothing is permanent at Disney. Changes happen. New things are magically created. Grateful to have experienced them all, old and new.” New Grand Floridian lobby Disney World is always changing and has always meant to be changing, so we get that opinion, too. We’ll also be curious about the miniature displays the hotel will put out this year, so the tradition will still sort of continue, just on a smaller scale. If you are planning your Disney World vacation and thinking of utilizing Lightning Lane, you’ll want to read this first! Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets Lightning Lane reservations can feel intimidating, especially if it’s your first Disney World vacation or if you haven’t visited in a while. Between multiple options, booking windows, and the pressure of being ready right at 7 AM, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed before you even set foot in the parks. But here’s the good news: you are already in the right place by reading this article. With a little preparation and a solid game plan, you can turn what seems like a complicated process into a simple part of your vacation planning. We’re breaking down everything you need to do ahead of time so you can feel confident, prepared, and ready to book your Disney World Lightning Lanes without the panic. Know Your Booking Date Your booking eligibility date is one of the most important pieces of information to know in advance. Disney Resort hotel guests can book Lightning Lane selections beginning at 7 AM Eastern Time seven days before their check-in date for their entire length of stay (up to 14 days). Everyone else can begin booking three days in advance on a rolling basis. Lightning Lane for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure Write this date down, put it on your calendar, and set multiple reminders if necessary. You don’t want to accidentally miss your booking window, especially if you’re hoping to secure reservations for highly sought-after attractions. Test Track Pick Your Park for Each Day Before your Lightning Lane booking window opens, one of the most important things you can do is decide which park you’re visiting each day of your trip. Lightning Lane reservations happen on a park-by-park basis, so trying to make those decisions at 6:59 AM on booking day will only add unnecessary stress. Sit down a few days beforehand and create a simple itinerary that outlines exactly where you’ll be each day, including any planned park hopping. EPCOT Having your park schedule finalized ahead of time allows you to focus entirely on securing the attractions you want instead of debating whether Tuesday should be EPCOT or Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Even if your plans aren’t set in stone yet, having a general framework will make the entire process much smoother and help you avoid feeling rushed when your booking window opens. Know Your Options One of the biggest reasons Lightning Lane reservations feel overwhelming is that there are multiple products to choose from. Before booking day arrives, make sure you understand the differences between Lightning Lane Multi Pass, Lightning Lane Single Pass, and Lightning Lane Premier Pass. Lightning Lane Multi-Pass allows you to pre-book select attractions and experiences in a park. Lightning Lane Single Pass is sold separately for Disney’s most popular rides that aren’t included with Multi Pass, like TRON: Lightcycle Run and Flight of Passage. Lightning Lane Premier Pass is Disney’s premium option that allows guests to enter Lightning Lane entrances without selecting return times throughout the day. Kilimanjaro Safaris Lightning Lane Each park also has its own attraction tiers, meaning some rides are considered higher priority than others. Disney uses a tiered system for ride selections. At Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, and Disney’s Hollywood Studios, from your 3 advance selections, you may choose one experience from a higher-tiered group and two experiences (or all three) from a lower-tiered group. (Tiers do not apply at Disney’s Animal Kingdom). The more familiar you are with what each pass includes, the less intimidating booking day will feel. You don’t want to spend precious minutes researching terminology while everyone else is securing reservations. 8 Ways to Predict SOLD OUT Lightning Lanes in Disney World Slinky Dog Dash Lightning Lane Download and Sign In to the My Disney Experience App This may sound obvious, but don’t wait until booking morning to download the My Disney Experience app or sign into your account. The last thing you want is to be fumbling with forgotten passwords, two-factor authentication codes, or software updates while reservation times are disappearing. A few days before your booking date, open the app, make sure it’s updated to the latest version, and verify that you can successfully log in. Double-check that your vacation reservation appears correctly. Taking care of these simple tasks early will eliminate a lot of unnecessary stress. ©Disney Be Sure You’re Connected to Your Party Members If you’re traveling with family or friends, everyone in your group needs to be properly linked before booking day arrives. Open your Family & Friends list in My Disney Experience and confirm that every person traveling with you is connected to your account. This step is incredibly important because if someone isn’t linked, you may not be able to book Lightning Lane selections for them. Discovering that issue at 7 AM on booking day can quickly turn a smooth process into a frustrating one. Spend a few minutes verifying everyone’s information ahead of time so you can make reservations for your entire group at once. ©Disney Do a Walk-Through Ahead of Time One of the best ways to reduce anxiety is to practice. Spend a few minutes exploring the My Disney Experience app before your booking window opens. You won’t be able to make reservations early, but you can familiarize yourself with where all the Lightning Lane options are located. Click around the app and learn where to access Lightning Lane Passes, where you’ll select your park, and where you’ll choose return times. The app will feel much less intimidating when you’ve already seen it before. Even a five-minute practice session can help eliminate that “Where do I click?” panic on booking morning. Animal Kingdom Research Before Booking Day You don’t have to become a Disney World expert overnight, but doing a little research ahead of time will make a huge difference. Spend some time watching Disney Food Blog YouTube videos that break down Lightning Lane strategies, explain the different pass options, and walk you through sample booking scenarios. Seeing someone actually navigate the system can make it feel much less complicated. You’ll learn which attractions typically book up first, which parks require more strategy, and which reservations aren’t worth stressing over. The more familiar everything feels beforehand, the more confident you’ll be when it’s your turn to book. Mad Tea Party Know Your Dining and Other Reservations Before you book your Lightning Lanes, review your entire vacation schedule. Disney’s system automatically creates time buffers around dining reservations and certain experiences, which means some return times may not be available if they overlap with existing plans. Have your dining reservations, tours, and any other scheduled activities written down beforehand so you can plan around them. Disney will not allow you to book a Lightning Lane during that time, so if you have a character breakfast reservation at Crystal Palace, don’t be confused about why you aren’t getting that 9 AM Lightning Lane for Space Mountain that you wanted. Big Thunder Mountain Set an Alarm for 7 AM Perhaps the easiest tip of all: don’t oversleep. Lightning Lane reservations open at 7 AM Eastern Time, and some of the most popular attractions can disappear quickly, especially during busy travel seasons. Set multiple alarms if you need to, and plan to be awake at least 15 to 20 minutes beforehand. Give yourself enough time to grab a cup of coffee, connect to reliable Wi-Fi, and open the app before booking begins. There’s nothing worse than waking up at 7:12 AM and realizing your top priorities are already gone. Being prepared and ready to go before the clock strikes 7 AM can make all the difference. Entrance crowds at Hollywood Studios Be Ready to Pivot It can happen to everyone — something goes wrong during your booking process. Either the attraction you really wanted is all full, or the app is having issues. Take a breath and be ready to pivot. Have backup options for attractions in mind, grab the first available time, and you can modify to your ideal time later, and if the app is not working, just give it a second. These things can and will happen, so don’t be overwhelmed when they do. Hollywood Studios The good news? Lightning Lane reservations aren’t nearly as overwhelming as they first appear. Being prepared for Lightning Lane can really go a long way when it’s time to book your attractions, and we hope these tips help you! For more Disney news and tips, be sure to keep following DFB.
