  1. We recently visited Dollywood and tried some unique treats! Bear Ice Cream Cone We recently visited the Dolly Parton co-owned theme park resort in Tennessee and experienced everything — from the world-class rides to the incredibly underrated eats. Speaking of eats, we tried an animal-themed dessert, and we want to tell ya all about it! During our visit, we wanted to get our hands on any snack we could, and that pursuit led us to Songbird Market Grab and Go at Dollywood’s HeartSong Lodge & Resort. Songbird Market Grab & Go It’s here that we found the Bear Ice Cream Cone for $9.95. This treat is served on a bear-shaped cone and comes with soft serve and your choice of sundae toppings — and we have tons of thoughts! Bear Ice Cream Cones This sundae was all about the aesthetics. The ice cream itself was traditional vanilla soft serve — very familiar, comforting, and creamy. The sprinkles were pretty, but only added texture. But the real star of the show was the bear cone. The cone itself was pretty soft and not crunchy like a normal ice cream cone. It’s very cute and very Dollywood-esque, but not the best ice cream we’ve ever had. That being said, it was very tasty, and the ability to customize flavors and toppings should make most people happy. Pretty good! Of note, you can get them in the theme parks as well, but the line will probably be significantly longer in the parks, so if you’re at the resort, consider grabbing it there! We’ll continue to share reviews from our theme park adventures around the world — including Dollywood! Keep it posted right here at DFB for the latest updates! 2. We tried some NEW treats in Disney World recently! She’s a beaut! We’re constantly on the lookout for new snacks dropping around the parks, resorts, and Disney Springs, and when we find things to try, we share those reviews with our followers! This way, you guys know what the must-have treats are for your upcoming vacations. We just tried three new items in Hollywood Studios and EPCOT — should you get them? Let’s find out! Sunshine Seasons in EPCOT For the first new treat, we’re heading to Sunshine Seasons in The Land Pavilion at EPCOT. Here, we snagged the Mickey-shaped Strawberry Lemonade Macaron for $6.29. It’s a pretty one! How pretty! The overall flavor of this leans hard into the tart lemonade. The icing filling is soft and smooth with a sweet lemon flavor, and it balances nicely with the strawberry jam that’s in the center of each Mickey ear and the middle of the macaron. Those two filling flavors together help create that strawberry lemonade vibe. It’s tangy! The filling is the main focus here, as the macaron itself doesn’t have much flavor to it. But be warned — that yellow color will absolutely stain your fingers! Inside the macaron It’s very pretty, but it’s not necessarily a must-try unless you’re a huge macaron fan or love strawberry lemonade-flavored things. It’s perfect for the Instagram feed, though! Epic Eats in Hollywood Studios At Epic Eats in Echo Lake at Hollywood Studios, you’ll find the new Pride Funnel Cake for $8.99. It’s topped with Fruity Pebbles cereal, ube frosting drizzle, powdered sugar, and a small amount of vanilla soft serve. Pride Funnel Cake They were pretty generous with the toppings here, but that soft serve melts near-instantly outside, particularly in the June heat. The ube frosting also confused us a bit because it started out as a vibrant purple color and proceeded to turn a lighter shade of blue throughout the process of taking photos. Perhaps because of the melting ice cream? It’s so pretty! The cereal, powdered sugar, melted soft serve, and ube frosting all together make it seem like a cereal milk-flavored funnel cake. It has the softness of the cereal pieces but a firm crunch on the outside edges from the funnel cake, which was soft and fluffy on the inside. Those cereal pieces get soggy pretty quickly, so it’s probably a good idea to enjoy this treat ASAP after picking it up at the window. Our bite All in all, it’s fun and colorful, and could be a favorite of those who love cereal and sweet treats, but it’s also probably not a must-try when stacked up against some of the other funnel cakes at this stand. Rosie’s All-American Cafe in Hollywood Studios At Rosie’s All-American Cafe on Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood Studios, we grabbed two new items — the Plant-based Dog and the Red Velvet Riveter. The eats! The Plant-based Dog is $11.79 and comes with a side of house-made chips. The “sausage” dog is a bit on the smaller side, and the texture is dense and chunky with a bit of earthiness from the added spices. There’s a hint of a spicy aftertaste. It comes with chips The combination of the “sausage”, relish, BBQ aioli, and tomato create a savory tomato-heavy flavor that’s reminiscent of marinara sauce or pizza sauce. The tomato adds freshness and a crisp slightly crunchy texture to each bite while the relish gives a bit of a sweetness that balances the spiciness of the dog. Plant-based Dog The Red Velvet Riveter is now available here for $5.99. This is a red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting, chocolate ganache, and typically a white chocolate coin garnish (ours was missing initially — likely a first-day mishap). Red Velvet Riveter The cake kept its shape surprisingly well until we cut into it. The chocolate ganache center has a thin and runny texture that reminded us of a lava cake when cut into. The edges of the cake itself are a bit crispy, but the middle is soft and fluffy. It held up well! The flavor of the cream cheese frosting really stands out and combines with the chocolate to make this a very sweet treat. The aftertaste of this is a bit artificial, so that was slightly offputting, but the flavors work well together. If you eat it quickly, it probably won’t fall apart in the heat like ours did. 3. Park Hopping just got EASIER in Disneyland. Yes, we are just as excited as you are. Sleeping Beauty Castle in Disneyland In Disneyland, Park Hopping lets you jump back and forth between Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure, but to do this, you need a Park Hopper ticket or a Magic Key pass, their version of Annual Passes. There used to be an 11 AM time limit: you couldn’t hop between parks until after 11 AM, but good news—that’s all changing. There is no longer an 11 AM waiting period to Park Hop, starting on June 9th. Yes! Dale! Now, it’s important to note that you might still need to make a park pass reservation, depending on which type of ticket you have. Magic Key Holders, this includes you! You’ll need to choose your park pass reservation for the first park that you are starting in and scanning into first. Let’s go see Mickey! This new rule change allows for so much more flexibility. Being able to hop back and forth in the morning is amazing. You can scan into Disneyland, rope drop one ride, and then head to Disney California Adventure for your next one. Storybook Land Canal Boats One thing we love about the change is that if reservations are full at one park, you can grab a spot at the other and head there immediately. Easy peasy! 4. When discussing travel to Universal and Disney World, we are typically talking about the Orlando International Airport. However, there is another airport that serves Orlando tourists Orlando Sanford International Airport The Orlando Sanford International Airport is much smaller and less popular than the much larger MCO. However, one popular airline has decided to shift its flights over to the Sanford Airport. Let’s get into everything that we know. BermudAir shared that they will officially be moving their services from Orlando to Sanford. They will no longer offer flights from Orlando International Airport (MCO) to Bermuda L.F. Wade International Airport (BDA). BermudAir started back in 2023 to provide luxury, year-round service from Bermuda to the U.S East Coast. Orlando International Airport And they partnered with MCO back in 2024 because they felt like Orlando was a great destination for Bermuda residents. The CEO, Adam Scott, shared, “It is a great destination for Bermudians — I will look forward to taking my son to Disney World — but it is also the largest untapped market from the U.S. to Bermuda in terms of catchment area.” However, they have now decided to partner with the Orlando Sanford International Airport instead. Orlando Sanford International Airport According to SFB CEO Nicole Martz, “This new partnership reflects our commitment to providing airlines and passengers with a high-quality, efficient travel experience, and we look forward to connecting travelers between Central Florida and Bermuda.” In addition to flights from Sanford to Beruda, in December, BermudAir will also start offering flights from Sanford to Belize. Tickets for both these new flight options went on sale on June 5th. Orlando Sanford International Airport The flight from Orlando to Bermuda typically takes around three hours, and a one-way economy ticket ranges in price from $189 to $289. Passengers can also choose to upgrade to business class, which includes larger seats and priority boarding. BermudAir sets itself apart from other airlines by removing the middle seat, and they also serve Bermudian snacks and drinks on their flights. 5. Trying to choose the perfect Disney World hotel for your vacation? Disney’s Swan and Dolphin Resorts You’ll want one with great perks, good transportation options, and a location that fits your needs. You’re also going to want to consider the dining and activity options available if you’re planning to spend some time there on your off days from the parks. One Disney World hotel has all that and more…but people keep sleeping on it! We’ve been singing the praises of the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin for YEARS now, but the hotel complex still isn’t getting the hype it deserves. The Swan, Dolphin, and Swan Reserve offer some serious perks that many Disney-owned resorts don’t even have, and they might just be the perfect place for you to stay on your upcoming trip. Location, Location, Location Perhaps the biggest draw for the Walt Disney World Swan, the Walt Disney World Dolphin, and the Walt Disney World Swan Reserve hotels is the location. These three hotels are one massive property, located in the EPCOT Resort area. This means they’re technically walking distance to both the International Gateway entrance of EPCOT and the entrance to Hollywood Studios. Swan and Dolphin They’re also next door to the Yacht Club, Beach Club, and BoardWalk Inn, with Friendship Boat transportation available on a loop to the three other hotels and two parks. Having all these popular spots nearby means you’ve got a plethora of dining at your fingertips, rope dropping the theme parks will be easy, and you have plenty to explore on your resort day. Plus, some roomas at the Swan and Dolphin will have theme park views, which means you might be able to see fireworks! 5 Reasons You Need to Stay at This Popular Disney World Hotel Some Awesome Perks One thing you’re probably not expecting about staying at the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin is that you’ll get almost all of the same perks that you would get at the Disney-owned hotels! This means that, like Disney Resort guests, you can purchase your Lightning Lane passes seven days in advance of your trip, enjoy Early Theme Park Entry every day of your visit, and make dining reservations for the length of your trip 60 days before your vacation begins. Dolphin Hotel The Swan, Dolphin, and Swan Reserve hotels also offer free transportation to the Disney World parks. As mentioned above, Friendship Boats can take you to EPCOT or Hollywood Studios, but you could also walk to those parks if you desire. Buses are available to take you to Disney Springs, Animal Kingdom, and Magic Kingdom. It’s important to note, however, that the buses to Magic Kingdom drop you off at the Transportation & Ticket Center (unlike the Disney Resort buses, which drop you off directly by the park entrance). Swan and Dolphin bus at Animal Kingdom But the biggest perk of all? The Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin counts in the Deluxe category of Disney World hotels. This means that you’ll have access to Extended Evening Hours on select dates in select parks — you get the chance to spend two extra hours in the park after it has closed to day guests! Learn More About Extended Evening Hours Here! A Resort for Foodies If dining is important to you when picking a hotel, then there might not be a better choice than the Swan and Dolphin area. Across these three hotels, there are 17 different dining locations, each with distinct menus and themes. From the fancy steakhouse vibes of Bourbon Steak by Michael Mina to the Mediterranean chill of Amare, there’s a little something for everyone. Bourbon Steak They’ve got dining options in a variety of price ranges as well, and each of the hotels has its own coffee shop, so you can grab your caffeine before you start the day. Also, you know we have to mention that Fuel at the Dolphin has self-serve DOLE WHIP! Yep, they’ve got a full froyo/soft serve bar with toppings and Dole Whip available. It’s to die for. The Complete Guide to Eating at the Swan and Dolphin Hotels Fun for the Whole Family Finally, we’ve got to chat about the activities available at these hotels. There are six unique pools across the complex, and they’re some of the prettiest that Disney World has to offer. On top of that, you can rent cabanas for a relaxing afternoon or choose to go out on the open water in one of the swan-shaped paddleboats. Swan boats! Inside, the Mandara Spa is an excellent choice for those who want to incorporate a massage or facial into their vacation. Fun for the whole family is available at Lagoon Games, Lanes & Eats, which is a combo bowling alley and arcade. Add in the fact that you can walk to the BoardWalk to enjoy their nighttime entertainment or visit Atlantic Dance Hall, and there’s SO much to do here. Lagoon Games, Lanes & Eats So if you’re not considering the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin, you might be missing out! 6. There’s a lot for guests to see at Walt Disney World this summer, including The Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster Starring the Muppets, Bluey’s Wild World, and the revamped Big Thunder Mountain Railroad and Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin, just to name a few. That in turn means guests are flocking to Disney World’s hotels. Pool Party! Those throngs of guests will encounter a lot of changes, as there are a slew of hotel perks… and hotel closures to navigate this summer. First up, there’s the water park perk, which offers each member of a guest’s party free admission to one of Walt Disney World’s water parks on their check-in day. Typhoon Lagoon In addition, there are several Cool Kids Summer perks available to guests at the Caribbean Beach Resort, Port Orleans Resort – Riverside, Art of Animation, and Pop Century: Scheduled Character Appearances: Meet some favorite Disney pals—like Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse—during scheduled appearances. Special Libraries: Little ones can celebrate Disney stories in libraries provided by Disney Publishing, where the magic of their imaginations can come alive with tales of princesses, heroes, and more. Pajama Party: Wind down with your family during story time! Pool Party: Make a splash at a high-energy poolside experience with games and music for the whole family. Campfire: Gather ‘round for a celebration filled with marshmallows and Disney-infused entertainment. Mickey at Port Orleans — Riverside for Cool Kids’ Summer However, these perks aren’t the only changes guests will encounter at Disney World this summer. Wailulu construction The Yacht Club Resort’s New England-themed Yachtsman Steakhouse will be closing in May for a refurbishment running through August. CLOSED. The Turf Club Patio will have a brief closure from early through mid-August. Then, the Turf Club Bar & Grill will be closed from August to September, with the Turf Club Lounge remaining open. Turf Club Bar & Grill Finally, the Grand Floridian Cafe – naturally located at the Grand Floridian – is scheduled to be closed from July through October. During this period, the cafe’s brunch will be offered at Citricos. Grand Floridian Cafe Moving on from dining closures, the following resorts will be undergoing general maintenance projects that won’t see the closure of any restaurants or amenities, but may be visible and audible to guests throughout the summer. 7. Listen, we love a big Disney World update. New rides? Great. Fresh restaurants? Wonderful. A surprise snack shaped like a beloved character? We are seated. We’ve got even MORE details about this part of Hollywood Studios! But sometimes, the most practical upgrades are the ones that deserve their tiny little spotlight. And today, we need to talk about bathrooms. Specifically, a newly refurbished restroom in Disney’s Hollywood Studios just got a small-but-mighty upgrade that could genuinely make your park day a little easier. A Fresh Bathroom Glow-Up The restroom located in the Walt Disney Studios area, formerly connected to Star Wars Launch Bay and near the exit of the Walt Disney Theater, recently received a refurbishment. From what we’ve seen, Disney appears to have kept the original tile flooring, but the space now has fresh toilet stalls and updated fixtures. A clean, refreshed Disney World bathroom is not something we take lightly. Walt Disney Studios bathroom In a park where you may be battling Florida humidity, popcorn fingers, Lightning Lane return times, and whatever emotional journey is currently happening outside Tower of Terror, a nice bathroom break can feel downright luxurious. The Real Star Here Is the Vacancy Sign The biggest little upgrade? The stalls now include vacancy signs. Yes. Those tiny indicators that tell you whether a stall is occupied or available without requiring the awkward shuffle-and-peek system that society has somehow tolerated for too long. Vacancy signs This may not sound like headline news if you are not currently standing in a theme park bathroom with 47 other people, a backpack, a cooling towel, and a child asking where the bubble wand went. But trust us, those little signs are useful. No more gently pushing on doors. No more making accidental eye contact through the stall gap. No more silently deciding whether a closed door means occupied, broken, or just mysteriously dramatic. Is This Actually Huge? Are we being a little hyperbolic by calling this a huge bathroom upgrade? Sure. But also, Disney World days are built out of a thousand tiny conveniences. A shaded bench. A short mobile order window. A bus that arrives right when your feet are considering legal action. A bathroom stall that clearly tells you whether it is free. Secret bathroom These things matter. Nobody plans a Disney World vacation around restroom stall indicators, but when you’re in the middle of a long park day, small design choices can make everything feel smoother. More of This, Please We are always happy to see Disney refreshing park spaces, especially the ones guests use constantly but rarely think about until they really need them. Bathrooms may not be glamorous, but they are essential. A clean, updated restroom with better stall indicators? That is the kind of quiet park improvement we can absolutely get behind. Changing area So yes, we are celebrating a bathroom remodel today. This is who we are now. And if Disney wants to keep adding vacancy signs across the parks, we will not complain. In fact, we may applaud politely from the hand-washing station. We’ll keep watching for more updates around Disney World, from massive construction projects to the tiny quality-of-life upgrades that make park days easier. 9. There is nothing worse than finding out your favorite attraction is closed for refurbishment just as you walk up to ride it. We always want you to be aware of any upcoming ride closures. So, if you’re planning a trip to Disneyland this summer, you’ve got to heed this warning! Sleeping Beauty Castle in Disneyland Several popular attractions are closing (or have already closed) for refurbishment. We always let you know when a ride is set to close, but it also helps to check the online refurbishment calendar before your trip. However, we’re here to warn you about another new ride closure that has been added to the list! Disneyland has updated its online calendar to note that a refurbishment starts for the Matterhorn Bobsleds on July 20th. Currently, the Disneyland calendar only goes through July 21st, so it’s not clear when the refurbishment will end. There’s no additional information listed on the website at this time. Matterhorn Bobsleds On that same day, there are also refurbishments ongoing for Frontierland Shootin’ Exposition and Pirates of the Caribbean. Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters is currently closed in the park, but will reopen on June 12th. King Arthur Carrousel will also have a short closure this summer. ©Disney Closures and refurbishments can be added to the Disneyland calendar at any time, though they usually show up at least a few weeks out. It’s a good idea to check the calendar a couple of times leading up to your trip to see if any planned closures could affect you. You’ll need to go to the “Day View” section of the calendar and scroll down until you see “Closed for Refurbishment.” Don’t forget to check both parks, Downtown Disney, and the hotels! Small World! Knowing which rides, attractions, or restaurants will be closed can help eliminate that last-minute disappointment when you arrive in the parks. It also might give you the flexibility to reschedule your trip to go at a time when your favorite offering will have reopened. Most of the time, these closures are just for planned maintenance, but occasionally, Disneyland will update rides or change them for the season. Haunted Mansion typically closes in late summer to become Haunted Mansion Holiday, an incredible The Nightmare Before Christmas overlay. Haunted Mansion Holiday Then, recently, we saw a brief closure at Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run, where it was updated to include new missions themed to The Mandalorian and Grogu. The ride now has new scenes, missions, and planets available, featuring beloved Star Wars characters from the new movie and hit Disney+ series. Mando and Grogu on Smugglers Run We’ll keep you in the loop with any other ride closures and refurbishments, so stay tuned to DFB. You can get the latest news by subscribing to our newsletter! 10. One of the longest closures of the year across all the Orlando theme parks is none other than Jurassic Park River Adventure, located at Islands of Adventure in Universal Orlando. Jurassic Park River Adventure The attraction closed for the lengthy refurbishment on January 5th and currently isn’t expected to reopen until November 19th. It’s been behind walls practically ever since, but now, we’ve got a look at what’s really going on behind the scenes, all thanks to @bioreconstruct on X/Twitter! These aerial photos give us all a great view of what work is being done deeper in the ride, the parts that there’s no way we could see with the walls being up as they are. We’re now about halfway through the refurbishment, so the question stands: how much work has actually been done? Well, the iconic Ultrasaurus mechanical neck has finally returned after being gone for the majority of the project so far. @bioreconstruct on X Additionally, one of the boats has also returned. Previously, these had been stored over near Epic Universe after being wrapped in plastic, and now, at least one of them has returned to its home park. @bioreconstruct on X Looking through other outdoor sections of the ride, it really puts into perspective just how large this ride really is, especially considering it doesn’t even count the indoor refurbishment we can’t see. @bioreconstruct on X There’s also new wall construction happening over at the paddock area of the ride. Those walls are pretty high, and the scaffolding goes up alllll the way, signaling to us that this appears to be a pretty large part of the process. @bioreconstruct on X Just look at it from another angle — that’s a BIG section to work on! @bioreconstruct on X From the outside of the ride, at normal eye level, there’s also work being done on the roofing of the entrance building. This is where you walk to enter the queue for the attraction. @bioreconstruct on X While November feels like it’s worlds away, we know it’ll be here before we know it, and we’ll be able to ride again. 11. We are proud Disney Adults, and that means we might notice things that other people don’t notice. One of those things was new trash cans! EPCOT While it doesn’t seem very exciting to some, these small additions make us feel like the parks are getting a refresh. We saw them in EPCOT, but good news — you’re going to see more. These are solar trash cans where you can step down on the push-down bar, and the trash can will open without you having to touch anything, keeping you and the trash can cleaner throughout the day. New trash cans! We heard from Disney that we can expect to see more of these trash cans! More units are coming to EPCOT in the coming weeks, and eventually, the other three parks, Disney Springs, water parks, ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex, and other locations throughout the year. Candy trash cans Now, a running joke for EPCOT festivals is that the tops of trash cans turn into tables since there are a lot of snacks to be had and not a lot of tables to sit at. Trash can table! We noticed that these new trash cans are a little slanted, so you might not want to set your dishes on top of them. With the foot pedal, it seems like everything will stay a little bit more sanitary. A bit slanted A big question we have is whether they’re going to be decorated for the EPCOT festivals. For some festivals like the EPCOT Flower & Garden Festival, they decorate them with Orange Bird, but only a select few, usually by Creations. Orange Bird! Little details like this are always so exciting, and now we have to find some trash to throw away. In the meantime, make sure you keep following Disney Food Blog for more Disney news. 12. Thanks to the addition of Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure and a massive increase in the usage of EPCOT’s International Gateway entrance thanks to the Skyliner, the World Showcase’s France Pavilion — and its Les Halles Boulangerie-Patisserie — has gotten much busier in recent years, and it’s created an issue. Quite the line! Les Halles is a traditional French bakery which offers a full menu, ranging from soups and salads to fresh baguette sandwiches and pastries, as well as wine, champagne, beer, and gourmet coffees. However, one thing the eatery doesn’t offer? Mobile Order. Without mobile ordering as an option, Les Halles Boulangerie-Patisserie is often swarmed by guests, with lines streaming out of the building, and tables in the seating area consistently filled to capacity. So, what’s an EPCOT guest to do? Well, the key is visiting at the right time of day. Quite the line! Now, to be clear, there is no time of day when Les Halles is empty, so we’re talking about comparative “less busy” times here. With that out of the way, let’s talk crowds. The eatery gets busy early in the morning, as many guests streaming through the International Gateway entrance to EPCOT head there for a morning snack, and remains so through the lunch rush. Guests waiting at the International Gateway in EPCOT for rope drop Things pick up again at the park’s final few hours of operation, as guests stop by for a pastry and coffee before settling into their spot on the World Showcase Lagoon to watch Luminous or leave the park for the evening. France is so pretty at night! That leaves an afternoon window of roughly 3 PM to 6 PM, where things are slightly less busy. (Again, the word “slightly” is doing a lot of heavy lifting there.) Les Halles Boulangerie-Pâtisserie So, whether you find yourself a spot during that window or simply decide to wait out the long lunchtime lines, what should you get? Honestly, there are few, if any, “wrong” choices as the Les Halles menu is one of the most consistent on Disney World property. However, we do have some favorites! If you want to study up on the full menu, our Guide to Disney World Dining pulls it all together so you can stop stressing and focus on the fun without feeling like you’re missing a thing! Menu at Les Halles Boulangerie-Pâtisserie If you’re looking for a hearty lunch, the Jambon Beurre remains one of our go-to staples. This $10.95 ham and cheese sandwich is served on a demi baguette slathered with Dijon Mustard Butter. Jambon Beurre As we wrote last year, “What’s not to love about this? You’ve got that Dijon mustard that adds the perfect tang against the salty ham and cheese. You can even have it toasted if you want, which gets the cheese all nice and melty.” Jambon Beurre from Les Halles If you’re looking for something a bit sweeter, you can pick up the Citron for $7.95. This flaky puff pastry is filled with a lemon cream base and topped with a generous pile of fresh blueberries. Anyone with a soft spot for lemon desserts will enjoy this one Citron at Les Halles Boulangerie-Pâtisserie If you’re not feeling something quite that tart, however, there’s the Café Liégeois. This $7.50 treat is a coffee-flavored dessert made with a light, fluffy mousse layered over chocolate cake crumbles, topped with a generous swirl of whipped cream and a sprinkle of crispy pearls. We found this treat to be creamy, light, and just indulgent enough to make it feel like a sophisticated sweet treat. Café Liégeois If you’re planning to grab a bite at Les Halles during your next Disney World trip, you may want to target a mid-late afternoon lunch. 13. Happy Meals from McDonald’s are something we keep a pretty close eye on, for a number of different reasons. McDonald’s Happy Meal For one, there’s a McDonald’s on Disney World property, so when you’re on a trip and you want a taste of home or something that’s outside of the actual theme parks, it’s a common spot to end up. On the other hand, we’re genuinely just suckers for the Happy Meal toys that come out, because we ARE collectors and we’re not afraid to admit it! While the new Happy Meal toys aren’t Disney themed, they ARE Squishmallows, and you can bet that we’ll be collecting each and every one. The FIFA World Cup is right around the corner, and to celebrate, McDonald’s is teaming up with Squishmallows to bring them back to their Happy Meals starting TODAY, June 9th! Squishmallows are already very popular Happy Meal toys, but these guys are wearing different jerseys to represent the teams playing in the World Cup this year, which we know will make them even MORE popular. ©McDonald’s Based on the promo photo, we can see a bat, a cat, a llama, a shark, a walrus, a pineapple, and numerous other options available. That means there will likely be many McDonald’s trips in our future, so we can grab them all! These are only available at participating McDonald’s while supplies last, so we recommend acting fast. In the past, there were some McDonald’s that would just sell you the toys themselves, but that’s not guaranteed. It can’t hurt to ask, though! ©McDonald’s McDonald’s hasn’t said how long these Happy Meal toys will be available, but as the FIFA World Cup runs from June 11th through July 19th, it’s our assumption that they’ll be around for the vast majority of that timeframe. However, if they run out of their stock only a few weeks in, that could be all we see, so again, we recommend acting fast! More Recent News You May Have Missed! 16. Poof! Something big has changed at Disney Springs, and it feels like a magic trick the way they just disappeared. Disney Springs There are SO many food options in Disney Springs that it can be overwhelming to decide where to start. Quick service? Full sit-down restaurant? Maybe just ice cream? It can be hard to choose, but now there are three fewer options. The food trucks have been removed! These were located by Disney Style and the Starbucks on the AMC Theater side of Disney Springs. When we heard rumors that it was closing down, we chatted with a Cast Member who confirmed it was going away, but there was never any official Disney announcement, so we almost didn’t believe it until it was completely gone. Where did they go? Typically, food trucks drive to their area each day, and at a popular food truck stop, there might be different trucks depending on the day. At Disney Springs, this wasn’t the case, and the same three trucks were there every day as a permanent location. Three food trucks While some trucks have changed in the past, the most recent ones included: 4 Rivers Cantina Barbacoa Food Truck Cilantro Urban Eatery Food Truck GoJuice Cilantro Urban Eatery at Exposition Park Now that the trucks are gone, where should you go instead? There are tons of great quick-service options! Some options around the same area include Chicken Guy! for all of your chicken tender needs… New Chicken Guy! sandwich alert! and Pepe by Jose Andres, which is the counter window at the sit-down restaurant, so it’s great for restaurant quality dishes… Pepe Burger with Patatas Bravas There are also a few sit-down restaurants in that area that we are beyond obsessed with, including Summer House on the Lake. We never stop talking about this restaurant because it feels like California casual with great pizza, steaks, and tons of cookies you’ll need to try. Lobby Cut Tavern Style Pizza Disney hasn’t announced anything coming to the area yet, but we’ll be keeping an eye on it to see what’s coming. While more food wouldn’t be bad, we also wouldn’t be upset with more seating options! Make sure you keep following Disney Food Blog for more Disney news. 18. Toy Story 5 is almost here! It officially debuts in the theaters on June 19th, and we’re excited to see our favorite toys back in action. @Disney While it hasn’t been released yet, there are already talks about box office movies, and it’s getting serious. They are shooting to infinity and beyond! According to Deadline, the three-week tracking of Toy Story 5 is at $150 million, and if this continues, it will break the record for the franchise. Toy Story 4, which was released in 2019, came in at $120.9 million. ©Disney If that number hits, it will represent the biggest opening of 2026 year-to-date, topping Super Mario Galaxy Movie at $131.7 million. 19. If you’re taking kids to Disney World, you’re probably thinking about which stroller to pick! Stroller Parking Do you go for a travel system with car seats included? Opt for a single stroller that’s lightweight and easy to fold? Or do you go full-scale double stroller to lug around all your belongings in the parks? Well, we’ve done the research and broken down some of the most popular stroller choices on Amazon. These are our findings for the BEST travel strollers for Disney World! DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission. Get the Graco! ©Amazon We’re starting this list out with the Graco Modes Pramette Travel System, 3-in1 Modular Carseat Stroller Combo. This is a single stroller that fits Disney dimensions, has an extra-large storage basket, and a one-hand fold. You can also get a few different attachments, including a pramette and infant car seat. view ON AMAZON This Baby Trend stroller is a great option! ©Amazon Next on our list is the Baby Trend Stroller and EZ-Lift Infant Car Seat – EZ Ride Travel System. This is one of the more affordable options on the list, and it also has a one-hand fold. It comes with cup holders for adults and a snack tray for the kids, as well as a decently-sized sun shade. view ON AMAZON We love the Chicco Bravo! ©Amazon The Chicco Bravo 3-in-1 Trio Travel System, Bravo Quick-Fold Stroller with KeyFit 30 Infant Car Seat is a fan favorite option online, and we totally see why! This stroller scored well in our rankings with its variety of features, maneuverability, one-hand fold, and reclining toddler seat for easy naps. It’s versatile and fits well with the infant car seat. A great travel system! view ON AMAZON Or, you can grab the best-rated single stroller! ©Amazon Of the single strollers we ranked, the highest-performing one was Baby Trend Expedition Jogger. This rated as easy to maneuver, has a massive storage basket, adjusts to different positions to make napping easy, and has a lower price than many others on the list. On Amazon, it has a 4.7/5 rating, and we get why people like it! view ON AMAZON Need a double stroller? ©Amazon If you’ve got more than one stroller-riding kiddo, then you’ll want to get a double stroller! One that was near the top of our list is the Dream On Me Volgo Twin Baby Stroller. Both seats recline and it has a one-hand fold. It rated as decently easy to maneuver based on reviews, and it’s on the affordable end of the price range. view ON AMAZON The Mompush is a popular choice! ©Amazon Rating slightly higher is the Mompush Lithe Double Stroller, which would need to be folded to fit on the Disney Skyliner, but would fit fine on the Monorail in Disney World. It has large storage baskets underneath and a one-hand fold with a “slide-and-go” mechanism. The price on this one is a bit more moderate, and it comes with UPF 50+ canopies, which would be GREAT in the sun in Florida. Our one caution here is that some of the reviews marked the seats as a little bit small. view ON AMAZON And finally, we’ve got the Joovy! ©Amazon For a more high-end choice, we have the Joovy Kooper X2 Double Stroller, which performed well in our ratings. It has water-repellant canopies with UPF 50 sun protection and peek-a-boo windows, cupholders for parents, swing-open snack trays for kids, and a storage basket that holds up to 22lbs. Each seat has a weight capacity of up to 50lbs and there’s a one-hand standing fold. This one comes in with a 4.7/5 rating on Amazon. view ON AMAZON We’re always on the hunt for the latest and greatest Disney souvenirs and essentials, so don’t forget to stay tuned to the Disney Food Blog for more! 20. When it comes to dining at Disney World, you’ve got a TON of options. Want something quick and easy? You’ve got it. Something middle-of-the-road and comforting? Yep, that too. And if you’re looking for something upscale and luxurious, you can find that as well. LOTS of crispy garlic Some new snacks have rolled out at Magic Kingdom and the Grand Floridian, and now we’re bringing you our FULL review. Are these snacks worth a stop on your next trip to the Most Magical Place on Earth? Let’s find out! Friar’s Nook — Magic Kingdom We tried the new Barbecue Pork Tot Bowl for $11.49. This is made with tater tots and barbecue pork, and is topped with cheddar, pickles, and cilantro. Barbecue Pork Tot Bowl First of all, this is a pretty solid portion for the price. It could easily be lunch or dinner for someone, depending on how hungry they might be, but it’s also perfectly shareable as a snack. The ratio of pork and toppings to tater tots. The pork was super tender and paired really well with the gooey melted cheese. A solid snack It was a great contrast to the texture of the crispy tots, which held up well despite the barbecue sauce. The sauce itself was tangy and not too sweet — we would definitely get these again! Columbia Harbour House — Magic Kingdom There are new Maple Mustard Chicken Strips topped with crispy garlic and green onions, which you can get for $12.99. We’ve seen similar chicken strips in the past, but these are a new version of an old classic. Maple Mustard Chicken Strips We thought these would be sweeter than they were, and we were glad that they weren’t! The mustard flavor was more of a sweet dijon rather than a honey mustard, which we appreciated. These were your classic Disney chicken strips — which we love — because they were crunchy and perfectly juicy on the inside. LOTS of crispy garlic We couldn’t taste much of the crispy garlic as it was masked by the mustard, but it did add a nice extra crunch to the tenders that we really liked. These are probably not a good choice for picky eaters, but if you’re looking for a more unique chicken tender option, you might like these! Gasparilla Island Grill — Grand Floridian Hotel Over at the Grand Floridian, we grabbed the Coconut Raspberry Cake for $6.49. This is a coconut cake with raspberry buttercream — and it is SO pretty. Coconut Raspberry Cake We really, really wanted to like this, but we were disappointed by how dry it was. The icing was somehow bitter as well, and the raspberry jelly on the inside didn’t help since it was pretty sour. It’s possible that we just got a bad or maybe older one, but we wouldn’t get this again. The perfect amount We also picked up the Signature Cookie for $4.79. This is a triple-chocolate cookie with sea salt. We LOVED this — it was so gooey on the inside while still being crunchy on the outside. The chocolate was semi-sweet, and the sea salt helped keep it from being too sweet altogether. It was almost like a brownie, and we would definitely get it again. 21. If you just felt an earthquake in Central Florida, don’t worry, you weren’t hallucinating. ©USGS A 6.4 magnitude earthquake was reported 104 kilometers west-northwest of Mantua, Cuba, at 2 PM ET on June 8th, with several of our Central Florida-based team reporting feeling its effects. Earthquakes aren’t too common on the East Coast of the United States, but they have been known to happen from time to time. In this case, the actual earthquake took place off the coast of Cuba. While the earthquake didn’t take place in Central Florida, its impact was felt throughout much of the area and in South Florida as well. Some of our team members reported feeling the ground shake, along with furniture shaking in their homes. ©USGS Our reporter at Disney World said she didn’t feel anything, but it’s possible others in the “Disney Bubble” did. We also checked the locations of Disney cruise ships to see if they may be impacted, and the Disney Destiny likely felt some of the effects. It’s possible that the Disney Fantasy felt some impact as well, but as of now, nothing has been confirmed. ©VesselFinder We’ll be on the lookout for the latest updates you need to know about from Disney World and beyond. 22. Packing for Disney World is its own kind of sport, and your bag is the MVP. ©Shutterstock Between walking 10-plus miles a day, squeezing through theme park crowds, and still needing to look like a functional human being at the airport, the stakes are genuinely high. The wrong bag makes everything harder. The right one quietly handles everything you throw at it, from the security line to the boarding zone to the moment you finally collapse onto a bench in Fantasyland. Here’s the one that’s actually worth packing. DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission. The Bag That Replaces Half Your Packing List ©Amazon There’s a very real moment on every Disney trip when you realize your bag is working against you. Too small and you’re leaving essentials behind. Too big and you’re checking it, paying for it, and waiting for it at baggage claim when you could already be on the monorail. That sweet spot is harder to find than it sounds. The Taygeer Travel Backpack lands right in it. ©Amazon With dimensions of 16.8 x 11 x 7 inches and a weight of just under 2 pounds, it meets airline carry-on requirements for carriers like United, JetBlue, Frontier, and more, and fits in both the overhead bin and under the seat. Inside, there are three main compartments and nine total pockets, including a dedicated laptop sleeve for up to a 15.6-inch laptop and a 12.9-inch iPad. It’s also water resistant, so a surprise Florida downpour isn’t going to ruin your day. No More Wet Swimsuit Ruining Everything Else ©Amazon Anyone who has packed a wet swimsuit next to clean clothes knows exactly how that story ends. Same goes for trying to fit sunscreen, a portable charger, a snack, and a backup pair of shoes into one main compartment with no organization strategy whatsoever. The Taygeer backpack addresses this with a built-in wet pocket designed specifically for swimsuits and toiletries, plus a bonus shoe bag to keep footwear separate from the rest of your stuff. ©Amazon There’s also a dedicated water bottle pocket that fits a 30 oz Stanley cup, which means no more smashing your tumbler into a side compartment and hoping for the best. The 180-degree zipper closure is a bonus for anyone who has ever fumbled through security while holding up the whole line. Your Bag Doesn’t Have to Choose Between Backpack and Handbag ©Amazon One underrated park bag quality is the ability to carry it multiple ways without it feeling awkward in any of them. Sometimes you want both hands free on a roller coaster. Sometimes you want to carry it like a tote through Disney Springs. Most bags force you to pick one and accept the trade-off. ©Amazon The Taygeer handles this with padded adjustable shoulder straps, two padded grab handles on the top and side, and a luggage strap so it can slide right over your rolling suitcase handle. It converts between backpack and handbag without any complicated adjustments. For a Disney trip where no two hours look the same, that kind of flexibility matters more than you’d think. view ON AMAZON A good park bag is the kind of thing you don’t notice when it’s working and can’t stop thinking about when it isn’t. The Taygeer Travel Backpack covers the things that actually come up in a real Disney day: security screening, staying organized, fitting overhead, and keeping wet things away from dry things. It’s a small investment that pays off the moment you walk through the park gates. 23. Disney+ is changing its advertising game — and you may not like it. ©Disney Over the past year, Disney+ has expanded its ad experiences to give advertisers new ways to engage audiences “while preserving the quality and experience that viewers expect on Disney platforms.” This also means new premium ad experiences for viewers, which means your Disney+ experience could be changing soon, if it hasn’t already. These changes are thanks to the Disney eXperience Composer (DXC), which is Disney’s internal creative platform for building, delivering, and measuring interactive ad formats. The first format launched in April 2025 and is called Gateway Go. It presents viewers with offers or reminders they could act on with the click of a button. ©Disney Disney also introduced Pause Ads on Disney+ in October 2025. Pause Ads appear when a viewer pauses content, “creating a natural opportunity for brand messaging without interrupting the story.” Later, Disney launched Pause+ to include Billboard, Trivia, and Carousel. These formats allow advertisers to tailor a range of objectives, from brand storytelling to purchase consideration. ©Disney You might have seen Ad Selector while streaming, which debuted in early 2026. This allows viewers to choose the video ad they want to watch, which has been driving engagement rates across the platform, according to Disney. ©Disney “What sets this work apart is not just the breadth of formats, but the speed at which they were brought to market,” said Alex Combs, VP, Product Management – Ad Platforms for Disney Entertainment and ESPN. “Each release informed the next, enabling teams to achieve parity across platforms and scale rapidly while maintaining high creative and performance standards. By combining platform flexibility with a viewer‑first design philosophy, Disney is laying the foundation for the next generation of premium advertising in streaming.” ©Disney Essentially, it sounds like Disney is working pretty hard on the ad experience on Disney+, and if you ask us, that means even more ad types could be on the way. Of course, no one likes commercials, but choosing which commercials you see seems slightly less annoying overall. ©Disney We’ll be on the lookout for even more Disney+ updates you need to know about. Disney World Popcorn Yep, that’s right, we’re talking about foods that have been around since the opening day of their respective theme park, restaurant, or hotel. The dish is made with organic mixed mushroom ragoût, tomato-fennel broth, and California Extra Virgin Olive Oil, and it’s a favorite among visitors to the restaurant. Sonoma Goat Cheese Ravioli It’s rich and cheesy and a delightful start to your meal. California Grill serves dinner as a 3-course prix fixe, so if you want to try this, you’ll need to choose it as your appetizer from the “market inspirations” menu. Cobb Salad and Grapefruit Cake at The Hollywood Brown Derby Next we’re heading over to Hollywood Studios to dine at The Hollywood Brown Derby. This restaurant opened with the park on May 1st, 1989, and there are two menu items that have been there ever since. The first is “Our Famous Cobb Salad,” made with spit-roasted turkey, bacon, egg, tomatoes, blue cheese, avocado, and classic dressing. You can order it topped with chicken or shrimp as well.
