We don’t know about you, but we’re pretty darn excited about the upcoming release of Toy Story 5. The movie officially premieres in theaters on June 19th, and it’s already predicted to break records. ©Disney Disney has been going ALL out with Toy Story 5, and we’ve been seeing tons of fun promotions and collaborations nearly everywhere. You’ll find a ton of new Toy Story souvenirs and merchandise (including Crocs) and even a collaboration with Papa Johns for Toy Story-themed pizza. We were lucky enough to see an early preview of the new movie, and you’ll never guess who stopped by! The actors joked with the audience about naming an attendee’s baby after a character from the franchise, and mentioned Jess/Jessie, Bonnie, and even Woodie, “with an -ie,” Tom said. Jessie in Frontierland Tim Allen, the voice of Buzz Lightyear, previously spoke about the new movie as well, explaining that the movie will largely focus on Jessie. According to Variety, he said, “I can tell you that it’s a lot about Jessie,” adding, “Tom [Hanks] and I do — Woody and I — do realign. And there’s an unbelievable opening scene with Buzz Lightyear. I can give you that, but I can’t give you much more.” Buzz The new movie is set to be released in theaters on June 19th, 2026. Disney teased that the film will follow the toys as they find their jobs harder than ever while competing with electronics. Something NEW has arrived on the savanna at Kilimanjaro Safaris, and we think you’re going to love it! Kilimanjaro Safaris Every time a new baby animal is born at Animal Kingdom, we get so excited — I mean, who doesn’t get excited about adorable baby animals?! Recently, we shared that a new baby giraffe had been born at Animal Kingdom and would soon make her debut on the Safaris, and now, that time has come. We’ve got a first look at Ivy, the new baby giraffe! It’s official, Ivy has made her Animal Kingdom debut! We got the chance to see Ivy out on the savanna before the park opened, and we can’t get over how adorable she is. Ivy was born at Disney’s Animal Kingdom this April at 120 pounds and nearly six feet tall. Ivy the baby giraffe! When we saw her, she was with her mom, Willow, and another female giraffe named Lily. The giraffes at Animal Kingdom have tree-themed names, since the majority of their diet is tree leaves. Ivy’s mom is named Willow after the willow tree, and another member of their herd is Maple after maple trees. The giraffe care team at Animal Kingdom came up with a list of 12 tree-themed names until they settled on Ivy! Ivy and her mom, Willow Animal Kingdom welcomed another baby giraffe last year — Tucker. Tucker quickly became a popular new addition to the African savanna. He would often be seen with their shared dad out on the savanna. ©Disney Masai giraffes are classified as endangered by the International Union for Conservation of Nature, and there are only around 30,000 left in the wild — that’s why it’s so exciting that new Masai giraffes are being born at Animal Kingdom. Ivy’s birth adds to the Masai giraffe family tree, keeping the population healthy and thriving so little ones can keep towering over the savanna for generations to come. Hi, Ivy! Disney World is full of magic, fireworks, Mickey-shaped snacks, and occasionally, a grown adult having a public argument with the track in the middle of Main Street, U.S.A., because it is “in the way.” Magic Kingdom Look, we get it. Disney World can bring out the best in people, but it can also bring out the tiny vacation terror inside all of us. You’re hot. Your feet hurt. Your phone battery is at 11%. Someone in your group just asked if you can “swing by” Disney Springs after EPCOT. There are conditions. But having a rough moment is one thing. Making that rough moment everyone else’s problem is another. Most people in Disney World are just trying to have a good vacation. But every so often, you meet someone who seems determined to become a cautionary tale in breathable sneakers. So, let’s talk about the worst people you’ll meet in Disney World, and more importantly, how not to become one of them. The Cast Member Yeller This one goes first because it deserves the big blinking neon sign treatment. Being rude to Cast Members is never okay. Cast Members do not control the weather. They do not personally decide when a ride goes down. They did not hide your Lightning Lane return time in a tiny app cave. They are not responsible for the fact that Florida decided to become a sauna with thunder. Cast Members are the BEST And yet, somehow, they are often the first people guests take their frustration out on. We understand that Disney World is expensive. We understand that a vacation can feel like it has to be perfect because you planned it for months, paid real money for it, and maybe made a spreadsheet with tabs. That still does not mean the Cast Member at the entrance to Big Thunder Mountain has to absorb your emotional splash damage. If something goes wrong, be calm and specific. Explain the problem. Ask what your options are. Go to Guest Relations if needed. A Cast Member is much more likely to help you find a solution if you are treating them like a human being and not a malfunctioning kiosk. Cast Members are the BEST! Do this instead: Take a breath before you ask for help. Use your indoor voice, even if you are outdoors and currently sweating through your third outfit of the day. They simply believe they are more of a light suggestion for everyone who is not them. They cut lines. They duck under ropes. They climb where they should not climb. They save spots for a group of 14 people who are “just coming.” They enter restricted areas. They ignore ride safety instructions. They treat “please remain seated” like the opening of a philosophical debate. Disney World has rules because the parks are crowded, complicated, and full of ride systems, parade routes, backstage areas, pyrotechnics, transportation, strollers, mobility devices, and thousands of people moving in every direction at once. The rules are not there to ruin your day. They are there so your day does not end with a security conversation and a deeply uncomfortable family group text. Lots of spaces are off-limits to regular guests! Line behavior is a big one here. One person stepping out of line briefly for a bathroom emergency? Fine. Life happens. A full extended family pushing through a narrow queue because one person “held the spot”? Absolutely not. Everyone else has also been standing there, marinating in queue music and patience. Line for Jungle Cruise This also applies to ride safety. Keep your hands, arms, feet, legs, phones, hats, snacks, and poor choices inside the ride vehicle. Nobody wants a ride evacuation because someone decided Jungle Cruise’s spiritual successor was “touching mysterious ride water.” Do this instead: Get in line together, follow posted rules, listen to Cast Members, and assume that if an area looks blocked off, it is not secretly inviting you to explore. These are the rules you NEED to follow so you don’t get kicked out of Disney World! The Human Traffic Jam This person stops in the middle of a walkway with the confidence of a boulder. Not near a wall. Not by a bench. Not off to the side. Right in the center of the path, usually at the narrowest possible point, where seven strollers, two scooters, a popcorn bucket, and one dad speed-walking toward a dining reservation are all trying to pass. We’ve all needed to stop and check the map. We’ve all had the “Wait, where is Mom?” moment. We’ve all paused to figure out if we are headed toward Adventureland or accidentally committing to Liberty Square. That is normal. The problem is the family meeting that takes place in the middle of Fantasyland, like someone called an emergency town council. Disney World walkways are busy. People are tired. People are carrying drinks. People are navigating mobility devices. People are trying to make showtimes, dining reservations, Lightning Lane windows, bathroom breaks, and transportation. If you stop suddenly, the crowd behind you can domino faster than a toddler spotting a bubble wand. Fantasyland Crowds Do this instead: Pull to the side before stopping. If your group needs to make a plan, find a wall, bench, planter, or quiet corner. Your map check does not need to become a parade route closure. “This Is What the Stink Eye Was Invented For” — Disney Adults Are TIRED of This Restaurant Trend in EPCOT The App Meltdown Person Disney World in 2026 is beautiful, immersive, detailed, and held together by phone battery percentages and mild panic. The My Disney Experience app handles a lot. Lightning Lane selections, mobile orders, dining reservations, wait times, tickets, hotel room access, PhotoPass, maps, park hours, virtual queues when applicable, and approximately 900 other tiny buttons live in there. ©Disney So yes, the app can be stressful. But the App Meltdown Person takes that stress and turns it into dinner theater. They are refreshing aggressively. They are snapping at their family. They are loudly announcing that “nothing is available” while blocking the entrance to Pirates of the Caribbean. They are blaming everyone within a 15-foot radius because Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, Slinky Dog Dash, or Guardians of the Galaxy did not magically appear at the exact time they wanted. We get it. Disney planning has become a tiny digital obstacle course wearing mouse ears. But turning into a sidewalk thunderstorm will not fix it. ©Disney Do this instead: Know your must-dos, but have backups. Bring a portable charger. Screenshot important plans. Build in snack breaks. And when the app starts making your blood pressure tap dance, step aside, drink water, and remember that not every great Disney day follows the spreadsheet. As a Former Cast Member, Here Are 7 Things I Do BEFORE My Disney World Vacation The Attraction Ruiner This is a broad category, but you know them when you hear them. They recite the entire pre-show at full volume. They talk through the whole ride. They explain every effect before it happens. They spoil the surprise in line. They take flash photos on dark rides. They loudly tell kids that characters are not real. They treat every attraction like their own personal commentary track. Tower of Terror Friends, we love enthusiasm. We love a Disney adult with lore. We love someone who knows the Haunted Mansion script, the Tower of Terror intro, and the exact emotional temperature of the Country Bear Jamboree. Knowledge is not the problem. Performing over the attraction is the problem. For someone near you, this might be their first time. It might be their kid’s first time. It might be the one ride they were most excited about. They did not wait 50 minutes to hear a stranger do an unofficial audio description with bonus spoilers. Haunted Mansion And flash photography? Please don’t. Not only is it usually against the rules, it ruins the atmosphere and gives everyone around you the visual equivalent of being slapped by a camera goblin. Your photo probably will not turn out well anyway. The Haunted Mansion does not need your flash. It has been spooky since 1971 without your help. Do this instead: Keep quotes quiet, turn off flash, save the trivia for after the ride, and let the attraction do what it was designed to do. Now it is also the “phone, iPad, balloon, Minnie ears, and glowing rectangle held above your head” problem. Fourth of July crowds in 2025 Fireworks viewing in Disney World is serious business. People stake out spots early. Kids get sleepy. Short people start praying to the visibility gods. Everyone is trying to see the castle, projections, and sky without watching the whole show through the back of someone else’s phone. Taking a few photos or videos is totally normal. We all want to capture the pretty exploding sky feelings. But filming the entire show with your arm fully extended above your head means the people behind you are now watching Happily Ever After through your screen. That is not a fireworks view. That is unpaid tech support. Jingle Bell Jingle BAM Same goes for kids on shoulders in packed viewing areas. We understand wanting your child to see. Truly. But when a kid goes up on shoulders in the middle of the crowd, everyone behind them loses the view they may have waited an hour to get. Balloons, tall ears, and giant accessories can also block more than you think. Your balloon may be adorable, but it is currently starring in 47 strangers’ castle photos. Do this instead: Record short clips at chest or eye level (or, better yet, just watch it on YouTube when you get home). Turn off flash. Lower balloons. Take off tall ears once the show starts. If your child needs a better view, try to find a spot earlier near a railing, planter, or area where they can see without blocking an entire population behind you. Quick-service dining is especially intense. Guests are carrying trays, balancing drinks, corralling kids, hunting for napkins, and scanning the room with the haunted eyes of people who just need one table before their fries collapse into sadness. So when a group finishes eating and then stays planted at a table for another 45 minutes during the lunch rush, it gets rough. Connections Eatery To be clear, we are not talking about guests who need a medical break, families managing little kids, someone waiting out a storm, or people who genuinely need a few minutes to recover. Disney World is exhausting. Sometimes sitting down is the only thing keeping your soul inside your body. We are talking about the table campers who are long done eating, have spread bags across extra chairs, and are using a packed quick-service restaurant as their personal vacation office while other guests wander with trays of food and dwindling hope. If the restaurant is empty, settle in. Debate park strategy. Reorganize your backpack. Live your truth. But if the restaurant is packed and people are circling with food, be considerate. Seating at Connections Eatery Do this instead: Once your group is finished, clear the table and move along. Need a longer break? We have grace for parents. A lot of it. Kids cry. Kids melt down. Kids get scared. Kids get tired. Sometimes the best-laid Disney plan gets body-slammed by a preschooler who no longer believes in shoes. Bluey’s Wild World That is not what we are talking about. We are talking about the adults who scream, curse, threaten, shame, or drag miserable kids from attraction to attraction because “we paid for this trip” and the schedule says everyone is having fun until 9:45PM. Disney World can be magical, but it is still a lot. Some kids need breaks. Some kids need naps. Some kids need a pool afternoon. Some kids need chicken nuggets, a stroller fan, and 25 minutes of silence under a tree. The same goes for letting a child scream through an entire show without trying to help them or step out when possible. Again, kids have feelings. We know. But the rest of the audience is also trying to hear Crush make turtle jokes, and the acoustics of a toddler meltdown are powerful. Turtle Talk! Do this instead: Build in breaks before everyone breaks down. Watch for signs of hunger, heat, fear, and exhaustion. Do not force scary rides if your kid is clearly not ready. The Magic Popper This person cannot let anyone enjoy anything without poking a hole in it. They loudly explain that the characters are “just people in costumes.” They spoil ride surprises in line. They make cynical comments during character meet-and-greets. They explain backstage operations within earshot of kids. They treat everyone else’s wonder like it is a balloon they personally need to deflate. Adults know things. We know Mickey is not clocking in from a mouse hole under the castle (he has a house in Golden Oak, obvi). We know there are costumes, schedules, tunnels, systems, and practical realities behind the scenes. But Disney World works because people agree to play along. For kids, that may mean Mickey is real. For adults, it may mean crying during fireworks even though they know exactly how projections work. For some guests, this may be a once-in-a-lifetime trip. For others, it may be the place where they get to feel silly, nostalgic, emotional, or fully invested in embracing the magic. Tinker Bell and Fawn Do this instead: Keep the backstage facts for people who ask. Let kids believe. Let adults have their sentimental little castle moment. Not everything needs a footnote. Where to Find All the Disney Character Meet-and-Greets in Walt Disney World How To Avoid Becoming The Problem The tricky thing about Disney World is that any of us can become one of these people if we are tired enough, hungry enough, hot enough, or convinced enough that the app has chosen violence. So the goal is not perfection. The goal is awareness. Before you stop, move to the side. Before you raise your phone, check who is behind you. Before you snap at a Cast Member, take a breath. Before you hold a line spot for your entire group, just don’t. Wait for the rest of your party before you join the queue. Before you force one more ride, look at your kid’s face and ask if this is still fun or just a march with snacks. Rapunzel in Hollywood Studios And if another guest is being disruptive, try not to escalate. Politely ask if it is a simple fix, like turning off a flash or lowering a phone. If something feels unsafe or truly disruptive, find a Cast Member and let them handle it. Do not let one rude guest ruin your entire day. Go get a snack. Find some shade. Sit in a lounge if you can. Follow the rules. Step out of the walkway. Lower your phone. Let people hear the pre-show. Move along when the restaurant is packed. Give families grace. Let kids believe. When we’re craving a quick meal, there’s nothing we love more than pulling up to the Golden Arches for a juicy burger, crispy nuggets, and sweet treats. McDonald’s But McDonald’s just announced a new technology that customers aren’t happy about. Your next McDonald’s order could look totally different, and you might not like it! Fast-food staple McDonald’s is testing a new AI-powered drive-thru technology at five of its U.S. locations. This tech could eventually replace the familiar exchange of pulling up and placing an order with a human employee. It’s expected to fully automate the order-taking process, according to Good Morning America. ©McDonald’s The chain revealed ArchIQ, a Google-powered AI ordering platform, at McDonald’s 2026 worldwide convention last week. According to a McDonald’s franchise owner, the new tech is nicknamed “Archy.” A video shared by the franchise owner shows how the AI system greets customers and takes orders, pausing to process any changes or requests before displaying the finalized order and total on a screen and prompting the customer to “pull ahead” for pickup. ArchIQ can take orders in both English and Spanish and can respond to repeat customers who ask, “Can I get my usual?” according to the franchise owner, who wrote that “90% of orders” so far had been “completed without human escalations.” McDonald’s Drive-Thru “As more of the customer journey becomes automated, there are fewer opportunities for guests to connect with crew. With fewer interactions, the bar for hospitality that makes people feel seen, welcomed, and valued only goes up,” McDonald’s CEO Chris Kempczinski said in a company memo. “We can’t ask our customers to choose. Hospitality or speed. Great taste or convenience. Value or quality. They want what Ray called the total of everything. They won’t trade one for another because they don’t have to. Since its 2012 opening, the Art of Animation Resort has become one of Walt Disney World’s most popular resorts. Scar at Art of Animation The Value Tier Resort combines similar aesthetics to its brethren – large icon statues connecting an interlocking series of themed buildings – while featuring a unique room layout. The hotel’s Little Mermaid buildings feature standard hotel rooms, while Art of Animation’s Cars, Finding Nemo, and Lion King areas, instead feature family suites. However, big changes are coming to those rooms in 2027, and in turn, some Disney World guests are rethinking their plans for the year. Disney recently confirmed that a massive overhaul of the Art of Animation Resort’s rooms will begin next year. The resort will remain open and proceed through phases, with refurbishment of the guest rooms and family suites. The current Little Mermaid Standard Room at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort During a preview, we got to see the Little Mermaid-themed rooms. While retaining the similar theme, the rooms will feature new under-the-sea prints and a Murphy bed – – similar to the current layout of the rooms at Pop Century – – along with a seashell bed and chairs. A current Pop Century room ©Disney Furthermore, the company said Imagineering and facilities are working together to maintain the feeling of stepping into a movie, which is obviously integral for rooms including Cars and Toy Story. A current Finding Nemo Family Suite The refurbishment isn’t the only work to hit Art of Animation next year, though the first will be much shorter in duration. The Walt Disney World Skyliner will be closed for its annual maintenance from January 24th through January 30th, 2027. Disney will be providing complimentary bus service between the four Skyliner resorts, including Art of Animation, and the theme parks during the closure. One of our favorite things to do in Orlando is take a trip over to Volcano Bay. This Universal water park is incredible and truly one of the best we have ever visited. Volcano Bay The theming, rides, and food are all fantastic. Right now, it’s going through a refurbishment to make it even better, and we have some new information and construction updates! Later this year and into 2027, Volcano Bay will be closed for an extensive, full-park refurbishment. Starting on October 26th, 2026, through March 24th, 2027, the park will be closed. This five-month closure will include a lot of maintenance and infrastructure updates. Volcano Bay However, the park is already getting a head start on the construction as they put in some brand new cabanas. We are so excited for these cabanas to be open, and thanks to bioreconstruct on X, we’ve gotten a great aerial view of all the cabana construction. ©bioreconstruct These two-story cabanas are being built behind the lazy river. They are on the very edge of the park; however, we know that the construction will include putting in a tall wall of bamboo to create privacy. Magic Kingdom’s Train Station But if you are going to Disney World for the first time in 2027, you need to think about where you are eating. And no, we are not saying every meal needs to be a fireworks-view prix fixe situation where your wallet experiences an existential crisis. Some first-timer meals are about the food. Some are about the atmosphere. Some are about walking into a room and thinking, “Okay, fine. Disney did get me with this one.” So we’re breaking this down honestly. These are the Disney World restaurants we would send first-timers to in 2027, including the bucket-list meals, the quick-service wins, the resort restaurants worth leaving the parks for, and a few snacks that absolutely count as agenda items. California Grill table setting One important note before we start: menus, pricing, and reservation availability can change. If something on this list is a must-do for your trip, check the current Disney World menu and try to book early. Dining reservations can go fast, especially for the restaurants people plan entire outfits around. Cinderella’s Royal Table Let’s start with the glass-slippered obvious one. Cinderella’s Royal Table is not just a restaurant. It is the restaurant inside Cinderella Castle. That alone makes it one of the biggest first-timer dining flexes in Disney World. A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes Is this the best food on Disney property? Not necessarily. Is it one of the most iconic Disney meals you can book? Absolutely. You are paying for the castle, the princess interactions, the setting, and the feeling of walking past everyone in Fantasyland like you have royal brunch business to conduct. For families with princess fans, milestone celebrations, or travelers who want that “we really did Disney World” meal, this one is hard to top. Cinderella’s Royal Table Why we’re recommending it: Iconic Disney meal. Best for: Princess fans, first trips, birthdays, proposals, and anyone who wants to eat inside the castle at least once. What to know: This is one of the tougher reservations to get, and it is usually a prepaid, prix fixe experience. Book early and make peace with the fact that you are mostly here for the castle of it all. Be Our Guest Be Our Guest is another Magic Kingdom restaurant where the atmosphere does the heavy lifting, but to be fair, it is lifting a chandelier. This Beauty and the Beast restaurant lets you dine inside Beast’s Castle, and the rooms are the real draw. The Grand Ballroom is sweeping and dramatic. The West Wing is moody and spooky. The Castle Gallery is softer and a bit less chaotic. It is one of those places where first-timers walk in and immediately start taking pictures before they even look at the menu. The West Wing The current setup is a table-service prix fixe meal for lunch and dinner, so this is not the casual quick-service Be Our Guest of years past. It is more expensive, more structured, and not always the top food pick for everyone. But for a first-timer who loves Beauty and the Beast? It still lands. Blooming Rose Why we’re recommending it: Atmosphere. Best for: Beauty and the Beast fans, castle lovers, and guests who want big Disney theming with dinner. What to know: If your main priority is food quality for the money, this might not be our first pick. If your main priority is walking through Beast’s Castle and eating the Grey Stuff, proceed. Steakhouse 71 Steakhouse 71 at Disney’s Contemporary Resort is the kind of restaurant first-timers might not know to book, and that is exactly why we like recommending it. It is within walking distance of Magic Kingdom, which makes it incredibly useful when you need to escape the park without committing to a whole transportation saga. The restaurant has a retro Disney feel, nods to Walt Disney World’s opening year, and a menu that works for a lot of different eaters. Steakhouse 71 The steak is the obvious choice, but the burger has built its own reputation. The French Onion Soup is also worth your attention. Honestly, this is one of those meals that feels like a grown-up reset button in the middle of a Disney day. Steakhouse 71 Lounge Why we’re recommending it: Food and convenience. Best for: Magic Kingdom breaks, steakhouse fans, burger people, and first-timers who want a calmer meal near the park. What to know: Do not forget the lounge. Sometimes the lounge can be a great move if you want a more flexible meal or a smaller bite. Garden Grill Garden Grill is quietly one of the best character meals in Disney World, and I will keep saying this until someone gives Living with the Land the crown she deserves. This EPCOT restaurant is located inside The Land pavilion, and it slowly rotates while you dine. Yes, rotates. No, not in a teacups kind of way. You will not need Dramamine between bites of mashed potatoes. Farmer Mickey at Garden Grill in EPCOT The meal is family-style, the character interaction is usually strong because the restaurant is smaller, and you get Mickey, Pluto, Chip, and Dale in farmer-style outfits. It also overlooks scenes from Living with the Land, which means you are basically dining in the presence of agricultural royalty. Harvest Feast at Garden Grill Restaurant Why we’re recommending it: Food and character interaction. Best for: Families, character meal skeptics, picky eaters, and anyone who wants a meal that feels very Disney without requiring a ball gown. What to know: This is a great alternative if Cinderella’s Royal Table or Topolino’s Terrace is unavailable. It is easier, calmer, and often more satisfying than people expect. Space 220 Space 220 is the answer to the question, “What if dinner required an elevator to outer space?” Located in EPCOT, this restaurant simulates a trip to a space station, complete with massive windows looking down on Earth. The effect is cool, theatrical, and very first-trip friendly. This is one of those meals where the experience starts before the food arrives. Space 220 Dining Room Now, we’re going to be honest. We recommend Space 220 mostly for the atmosphere. The food is good, but the real reason to book this is the setting. If your group has kids who love space, adults who love a dramatic dining room, or anyone who wants a meal that feels different from a normal theme park restaurant, this belongs on the list. Why we’re recommending it: Atmosphere. Best for: Space fans, EPCOT first-timers, families, and anyone who wants a restaurant that feels like an attraction. What to know: Consider the lounge if you want the atmosphere without committing to the full prix fixe meal. Lounge spots can be competitive too, but they may be a better fit for lighter eaters. Satu’li Canteen Not every first-timer restaurant needs a reservation, a princess, or a napkin folded like a swan. Satu’li Canteen in Pandora at Disney’s Animal Kingdom is one of the best quick-service restaurants in Disney World, and it deserves a spot on a first-timer itinerary because the food is actually good. Not “good for theme park food.” Good. Satu’li Canteen The bowls are customizable, colorful, and filling without making you feel like you swallowed a brick in 93-degree weather. The cheeseburger pods are fun. The whole restaurant feels connected to Pandora without trying too hard. Cheeseburger Pod Why we’re recommending it: Food. Best for: Quick-service meals, Animal Kingdom days, lighter eaters, and people who want something that is not another chicken nugget situation. What to know: Mobile order this one when you can. Also, if your first Disney World trip includes Animal Kingdom, do not waste that lunch on something sad just because it is nearby. Go here. Flame Tree Barbecue Flame Tree Barbecue is one of those quick-service spots that does several things right. The food is solid, the seating area is scenic, and if you find the right table, you may get an Everest view with your pulled pork. But we are also here for a very specific reason: the Key Lime Pie Pop. Flame Tree Barbecue This is key lime pie dipped in dark chocolate, covered with graham cracker crumble, and served on a stick. It is tart, sweet, cold, and built for Florida. It is also one of those snacks that makes me temporarily forget whatever minor inconvenience Disney World has just handed me. The barbecue is good. The seating is better than people expect. The Key Lime Pie Pop is the tiny frozen diva of the operation. Key Lime Pie Pop Why we’re recommending it: Food and snack excellence. Best for: Animal Kingdom lunch, barbecue fans, snack people, and anyone who needs a cold dessert that does not behave like a basic cupcake. What to know: The outdoor seating area is part of the appeal, but Florida weather loves a plot twist. Have a backup plan if the sky starts making choices. Woody’s Lunch Box Woody’s Lunch Box in Toy Story Land is not the most relaxing restaurant in Disney World. In fact, during peak meal times, it can feel like every honorary toy in Andy’s backyard decided to eat at once. But the food is fun, the theming is strong, and the Lunch Box Tarts have earned their little pastry fan club. Woody’s Lunch Box This is where you go for Totchos, grilled cheese, brisket melts, and a snack that feels like a Pop-Tart got a Disney internship. It is a great first-timer stop because Toy Story Land is already a must-see area for many guests, and Woody’s fits the land perfectly. Raspberry Lunch Box Tart Why we’re recommending it: Snack and atmosphere. Best for: Toy Story fans, quick meals, kids, and adults who understand that potato barrels are sometimes the correct answer. What to know: Seating is limited and mostly outdoors. Mobile order early, avoid peak lunch if possible, and do not underestimate the emotional power of a Lunch Box Tart. Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater Restaurant Sci-Fi Dine-In is not on this list because it is serving the most sophisticated meal in Hollywood Studios. It is here because you sit in a car-shaped booth at a retro drive-in theater while old sci-fi clips play on a giant screen. That is deeply weird in the exact way Disney World dining should be weird sometimes. Welcome to Jollywood! The menu is mostly burgers, sandwiches, shakes, and American comfort food, so it is approachable for first-timers who do not want to gamble on a fussy menu. The real reason to go is the setting. It is dark, cool, nostalgic, and a fantastic midday escape from Hollywood Studios’ heat. Feature Film Burger Why we’re recommending it: Atmosphere. Best for: Hollywood Studios first-timers, families, picky eaters, and people who like a side of vintage alien chaos with lunch. What to know: This is a great “rest your feet and reset your brain” meal. The food is fine. The room is the assignment. Roundup Rodeo BBQ Roundup Rodeo BBQ is one of the newer table-service meals at Hollywood Studios, and it is a strong option for first-timers who want Toy Story theming without relying on character meet-and-greets. You are dining inside Andy’s backyard, surrounded by cardboard cutouts, toy props, bright colors, and a whole lot of yeehaw energy. The meal is all-you-care-to-enjoy barbecue served family-style, with meats, sides, biscuits, and desserts. Roundup Rodeo BBQ This is a good pick for families and groups because the menu is broad enough to please a lot of people, and the theming is cheerful without requiring you to know deep Toy Story lore. You just need to enjoy being temporarily shrunk to toy size while someone hands you brisket. Roundup Rodeo Why we’re recommending it: Iconic new-school Disney meal. Best for: Families, Toy Story fans, bigger groups, and barbecue eaters. What to know: This is not a character meal. You are going for the environment and the all-you-care-to-enjoy spread, not Woody walking up to your table. Les Halles Boulangerie-Patisserie EPCOT has plenty of fancy sit-down options, but first-timers should not overlook the power of a really good bakery. Les Halles in the France pavilion is one of the best quick-service stops in EPCOT, especially because it opens earlier than much of World Showcase. That makes it a great breakfast or early snack option when the rest of the pavilion is still blinking awake. Aloha Isle A first Disney World trip without a DOLE Whip is legally questionable in at least three emotional jurisdictions. Aloha Isle in Magic Kingdom is one of the classic snack stops, and while there are DOLE Whip options elsewhere now, there is still something special about getting one in Adventureland. Aloha Isle This is not a meal. This is a rite of passage with pineapple soft-serve. Dole Whip Why we’re recommending it: Iconic Disney snack. Minnie at Topolino’s Terrace Breakfast Dinner is a signature meal with French and Italian-inspired dishes, no characters, and a dress code. It is a totally different experience, and it is better for adults, couples, or first-timers who want a nicer resort dinner. For most first-time families, we would point you toward breakfast. For adults who want a break from park chaos, dinner deserves a look. Duck à La Orange Why we’re recommending it: Food and character dining. Best for: Character breakfast fans, Riviera Resort visitors, couples, and anyone who wants a more refined Disney meal. What to know: The Disney Skyliner can make this restaurant easier to reach from EPCOT or Hollywood Studios, but always check transportation updates before you build your morning around it. Boma Boma at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge is a buffet that gets recommended for a reason. It has variety, it has flavor, and it is a great way to experience Animal Kingdom Lodge without needing a signature dining budget. Breakfast is a favorite because it offers familiar staples along with more interesting options, including African-inspired dishes and that dangerous buffet logic where you start with “just one plate” and end with a cinnamon roll quietly judging your choices. Breakfast at Boma Dinner is also strong, especially if your group wants to sample a lot without everyone committing to the same entree. Boma Why we’re recommending it: Food and variety. Best for: Buffets, families, adventurous eaters, and guests staying near Animal Kingdom. What to know: Build in time to explore the resort before or after your meal. Animal Kingdom Lodge is not a place you want to sprint through like you are late for a dentist appointment. Story Book Dining at Artist Point with Snow White Here is where I get very serious for a moment, because Wilderness Lodge deserves more praise and more dramatic lighting in all of our lives. Story Book Dining at Artist Point with Snow White is one of the more unique character meals in Disney World. You get Snow White, Dopey, Grumpy, and the Evil Queen in a setting that feels like a storybook forest tucked inside one of Disney’s best resorts. The Evil Queen at Story Book Dining with Snow White The meal is prix fixe, the theming is immersive, and the character lineup is more unusual than the standard Mickey-and-friends rotation. This is a great first-timer choice if you want a character dinner that feels a little more special and a little less expected. Magic Mirror’s Slow-Braised Pork Shank Why we’re recommending it: Atmosphere and character experience. Best for: Snow White fans, resort dining, character meal collectors, and anyone who wants an excuse to visit Wilderness Lodge. What to know: Leave time to wander the lobby. Wilderness Lodge is not a resort. It is a pine-scented argument for canceling your evening plans. Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue is one of the most classic Disney World dining experiences still standing, stomping, singing, and flinging cornbread energy into the universe. Located at Fort Wilderness, this dinner show includes fried chicken, ribs, sides, strawberry shortcake, and a live performance full of comedy, music, and audience participation. It is old-school Disney in the best possible way. Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue Dinner Show This is not a quiet meal. This is not the place for someone who wants a delicate appetizer and hushed conversation. This is dinner with volume, jokes, and enough “YEEHAW” to power a small frontier town. Let’s dig in! It is also a useful reminder that some of the best Disney World dining is not inside the parks at all. A full spread at Homecomin’ Why we’re recommending it: Food. Best for: Disney Springs nights, brunch, comfort food, and anyone who wants a meal that earns the hype. What to know: Reservations can be tough, but bar seating may be an option. Also, do not sleep on brunch. Brunch at Homecomin’ has ruined many sensible plans, and we mean that lovingly. So, Which Ones Should First-Timers Actually Book? You do not need to eat at every restaurant on this list. Please do not turn your first Disney World trip into a competitive eating spreadsheet with fireworks. If you want the biggest “I ate at Disney World” moment, book Cinderella’s Royal Table, Be Our Guest, or Hoop-Dee-Doo. If you want the best food-focused picks, look at Satu’li Canteen, Homecomin’, Steakhouse 71, Boma, and Topolino’s Terrace. If you want atmosphere, go for Space 220, Sci-Fi Dine-In, Story Book Dining, Be Our Guest, or Roundup Rodeo BBQ. If you want quick-service and snack wins, prioritize Les Halles, Flame Tree Barbecue, Woody’s Lunch Box, Aloha Isle, and Sleepy Hollow. Brand-new exclusive perks are coming for Disney World Annual Passholders this summer! Disney World Annual Pass In the middle of V.I.PASSHOLDER Summer Days at Disney World, which brings TONS of perks to Passholders, Disney announced even more new exclusive perks. These perks are coming as part of V.I.PASSHOLDER Summer Days and the release of Disney Pixar’s Toy Story 5. If you’re an Annual Passholder, you’re going to want to see this! It was just announced that Disney World Annual Passholders are getting TWO new exclusive Toy Story 5 perks at Disney’s Hollywood Studios starting June 19th. The perks will include a new treat and a new experience! Hollywood Studios The first perk is a new float called the Screen Time Swirl Float. It’s a new Passholder-exclusive treat inspired by Lily Pad, the newest character introduced in Toy Story 5. You can grab the float at Woody’s Lunch Box in Toy Story Land. ©Disney The float combines creamy vanilla soft-serve with Coca-Cola Zero Sugar, topped with chocolate cookie crumbs and a gummy candy frog. It’ll become available on June 19th, and will be at the park while supplies last during the duration of V.I.PASSHOLDER Summer Days, which is running through July 31st, 2026. Woody’s Lunch Box The second perk coming to the park for Annual Passholders is an exclusive Disney PhotoPass Magic Shot on Grand Avenue featuring Jessie and Bullseye. Just like the treat, the Magic Shot will be available on June 19th, and it will be at the park until July 31st. Check it out daily from 10 AM to 4 PM! Slinky Dog Dash Passholders could make June 19th a whole Toy Story day. When we’re at Disneyland, we love hopping on the Disneyland Railroad and taking a joyride around the park. There are so many amazing sights to see between New Orleans Square, ToonTown, and, of course, Main Street, U.S.A. The Disneyland Railroad But when we rode the Disneyland railroad yesterday, we noticed that one of our favorite scenes looks totally different! Currently, Disneyland has a long list of closures! Disney World is always evolving, and 2026 has already brought a wave of changes that guests need to know about before they visit. Let’s party! Whether it’s a brand-new attraction shaking up how lines work, a parking policy crackdown at Disney Springs, or a beloved classic coaster lowering its height requirement, things are shifting fast. If you’re planning a trip this year, staying ahead of these updates could genuinely make or break your day. Here are four new rules Disney World is enforcing right now. Disney Springs Has a New Parking Rule for Event Days Disney Springs is a great addition to any Disney World trip, but if you’ve ever shown up early for a big merchandise event, you know things can get hectic fast. Disney recently announced a new parking rule specifically targeting special event days, including Pin Drop Tuesdays. @disneysprings on Instagram Starting now, parking garages and rideshare loops at Disney Springs will not open until 7 AM on those days. Anyone who shows up before that time will be turned away and asked to return at the posted opening. The rule is designed to prevent overnight parking and the early crowd buildup that tends to happen before limited-edition merchandise hits shelves. Disney pins If you’re a pin collector and Tuesday mornings at Disney Pin Traders are your thing, plan to arrive right at 7 AM and not a minute sooner, whether you’re driving yourself or catching a rideshare. Cosmic Rewind Has New Cast Member Crowd Management Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind is one of EPCOT’s crown jewels, but it’s had one persistent headache built into the experience. After guests get “teleported” to the Xandarian ship, everyone used to rush toward three doors on the right side of the room at once. It was chaotic every single time. Cosmic Rewind queue line Disney has been tweaking this for a while, first by keeping the center door closed, but now they’ve taken it a step further. Cast Members are now actively stationed in that room, and instead of both side doors releasing guests simultaneously into a free-for-all, one group is held while the other moves through and up the ramp. Cast Members in the queue Then the second group follows. It’s a small operational change, but it should make the whole transition noticeably smoother for everyone involved. If you’ve ridden Cosmic Rewind before, you’ll definitely notice the difference. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad Lowered Its Height Requirement Big Thunder Mountain Railroad returned from a lengthy refurbishment on May 3rd after being closed since January 2025, and it came back with some notable changes. The ride received updated tracks and trains designed to preserve its classic feel while improving the overall experience. But the most headline-grabbing update is this: the height requirement has been lowered from 40 inches to 38 inches. Whee! That two-inch drop is a big deal for families with younger kids who were previously just shy of the cutoff. Disney’s safety teams reviewed the updated attraction and signed off on the change, meaning more little ones can now experience one of Magic Kingdom’s most iconic coasters sooner than ever before. The Stroller Rule Families Need To Know Before Visiting Bluey’s Wild World Bluey’s Wild World may be one of the biggest additions to Disney’s Animal Kingdom this year, but there’s an important rule many parents don’t realize until they arrive. Bluey’s Wild World The experience is located at Conservation Station, which means guests need to take the Wildlife Express Train to reach it. While that train does allow strollers onboard, there’s one important catch: they must be foldable. Entering Conservation Station Families using larger stroller setups may need to fold them before boarding, and in some cases, parents may find it easier to leave their stroller parked at the station in Africa before taking the train. Either way, this is a rule you’ll want to plan for before heading over. Let’s go! The timing of this rule is especially important now that Bluey’s Wild World has switched to a standby queue. With more families expected to make their way to Conservation Station throughout the day, stroller parking areas could become much busier than guests are used to seeing. This line can take a while For parents with younger children, it’s worth preparing for the possibility that little ones may need to spend some extra time out of their strollers while traveling to and from the experience. It’s not a new rule, but it’s one that suddenly matters a lot more now that one of Disney World’s hottest attractions is located at the end of that train ride. Bluey’s Wild World Disney World is clearly not slowing down when it comes to making changes, and keeping up with them is key to having the smoothest trip possible. KACHOW! Lightning McQueen Popcorn Bucket A new popcorn bucket has raced into both Disneyland and Disney World, and y’all, we might be seeing some lightning because this is epic. This popcorn bucket might be one of the most popular of the year, with it already selling out in places! Check out the Lightning McQueen Popcorn Bucket! In Disney World, we grabbed it at a popcorn cart in Hollywood Studios. In Hollywood Studios Now, be prepared — when we went the first day, it had already sold out! Yikes! We were able to wait for Cast Members to restock it later in the day, but it’s been a bit since we’ve noticed popcorn buckets selling out so quickly, especially if they aren’t exclusive. There are SO many details In Disneyland, you can grab it in Disney California Adventure. At Fillmore’s Taste-In, you can grab it with a pickle, and at Flo’s V8 Cafe, it comes with a kids’ meal. At the Cozy Cone Motel, it came with the popcorn! You can also grab it in Disney California Adventure The top opens up, which is where you can store all of the popcorn. Popcorn It also lights up!
