  1. We are so close to the Food and Wine Festival at Disney California Adventure — we can almost taste it! Disney California Adventure Food and Wine Festival 2023! As the festival gets closer and closer, we are spending more time daydreaming about all of the eats, drinks, and souvenirs that come with it. From old favorites to new dishes that we are excited to try, the anticipation is honestly killing us. We’ve been keeping up with the latest about the fest, and we just heard that a popular souvenir is coming back this year! Recently, artist Jerrod Maruyama has taken to Instagram to announce that he will be showcasing his art at the 2024 Disney California Adventure Food and Wine Festival! Not only will his art be there but HE will also be there for signing events! It isn’t just one signing event, either! Maruyama will be there on three separate weekends to sign his art that is being sold at the festival. Maruyama notes that there is also art for sale at EPCOT’s Festival of the Arts. So, if you couldn’t make it to EPCOT for the fest, have no fear! If you have a trip to Disney California Adventure, you will have a second chance to get your hands on those pieces. A Jerrod Maruyama print from 2021! He will be at the festival on March 2nd and 3rd, the 23rd and 24th, and April 20th and 21st. For each of these dates, he will be signing at Disney Home at Downtown Disney from 11AM to 1PM and Off The Page at Disney California Adventure from 3PM to 5PM. ©Accidental Information If you follow Maruyama and plan to be at the park that day, don’t forget to stop by and check out his art for the fest and say hi! 2. There’s one Disney World snack spot we get to visit almost every single month of the year… HELLO handsome! …yep, we’re talking about Gideon’s Bakehouse! This spot in Disney Springs has different seasonal cookies each month, and any time there’s a new one, we make it a point to stop by and try it out. It’s an incredibly popular spot, and the line to get in can be a multi-hour wait on the busiest days. But is that line worth the trouble for the NEW February cookie? Let’s find out! In February 2024, Gideon’s Bakehouse has multiple limited-time cookies! The February menu card The Eternal Flame is a spicy favorite that’s returning this year. We’ve had this one multiple times in the past and it’s made with dark chocolate, cherries, ancho, cayenne, and cinnamon. However, there’s also a brand-new treat this time around — The Strawberry Delight! The menu! The Strawberry Delight cookie, like all the others at Gideon’s, is $6 and nearly half a pound in size. It’s a strawberry cookie filled with dark chocolate and covered in strawberry-infused sugar. Look at her! And BOY was it good! The strawberry flavor is strong and fruity, with just the right amount of sweetness. It’s incredibly soft on the inside and the chocolate adds a depth and richness that compliments the strawberry really well. So is this cookie worth the wait?! That was the question that EIGHT different people stopped and asked me while I was taking pictures of it outside the store. People kept seeing the line and panicking — thinking it was a multi-hour wait. During my visit, I only had to wait about half an hour, but when the line for Gideon’s Bakehouse gets really long, they’ll open up a virtual queue. When you enter the virtual queue, you’re free to roam around Disney Springs until you’re called back to the store. In the past, my wait at the store after being called back has only been about half an hour. Either way, I think this treat is 100% worth the wait! The Gideon’s store in Disney Springs We’ll keep you in the loop with any more limited-time treats at Gideon’s Bakehouse, so stay tuned to DFB for the latest news and reviews! 9 of the Best Snacks Under $10 in Disney Springs — Click Here! 3. If there’s macaroni and cheese on the menu, it’ll eventually be on my plate and therefore in my belly. It’s just a fact. Macaroni and Cheese Disney World is filled with all sorts of great mac and cheese dishes. There’s the heaping cup of cheesy goodness that you can get at Gasparilla Island Grill at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort, Mac and Cheese Bites at Wine Bar George in Disney Springs, and more. However, there’s one thing that Disney World DOESN’T do with mac and cheese that they totally SHOULD. The Orange County Register brought to our attention a GLORIOUS event that is currently taking place at Knott’s Berry Farm. The annual Peanuts Celebration is taking place through February 25th, but a “secret” festival is also taking place along side it. ©Knott’s Berry Farm IT’S A MAC AND CHEESE FESTIVAL. Well, an unofficial one. The OC Register said, “A ‘secret’ Mac & Cheese festival taking place during the Peanuts Celebration has turned Knott’s Berry Farm into a cheese-lovers paradise with the kids menu staple showing up on funnel cakes and cheeseburgers and in soups and burritos.” Macaroni and Cheese Apparently, there are so many mac and cheese items that snuck onto the menus that are causing folks to call it “the Cheesiest Place on Earth.” 10 of 21 Peanuts Celebration food items feature mac and cheese. We’re always down for some Mac — this one its from Trails End “It’s kind of a secret menu,” Knott’s Berry Farm Vice President of Food & Beverage Laura Brubaker said of the preponderance of Mac & Cheese items. “We did advertise it to some degree, but not like we do with other events.” Disney World Mac Okay, we’d totally try a mac and cheese funnel cake. DISNEY?! Why won’t you do this?! It could take place in EPCOT in between some of the other festivals. Each country’s take on a classic American kids’ dish. We have it all worked out. 5. As we are nearing the end of the Festival of the Arts and the beginning of the Flower and Garden Festival, we have our eyes set even further into the future. 2023 EPCOT Food and Wine Festival We love every EPCOT festival, but one has clearly become our favorite, for obvious reasons. The EPCOT Food and Wine Festival is literally everything we dream about — food. An entire festival for food is our forté. But we’re wondering if our favorite festival will look a little differently this year. The 2024 Food & Wine Festival might be the BEST ONE YET for four important reasons: it could be even longer than usual, it might be the FIRST to utilize the NEW festival areas in EPCOT, food and drink demos and seminars may return, and we might get some all-new entertainment! As you may be familiar with, EPCOT has been going through a massive transformation for several years now. While it was supposed to be completed at the end of 2023, some things have carried over into 2024. World Celebration has opened with World Celebration Gardens, but two things are still being completed — CommuniCore Hall and CommuniCore Plaza. ©Disney The two CommuniCore locations are supposed to serve as a festival headquarters. They will be central locations for the festival, where everyone can gather. Disney has shared that CommuniCore Hall will host demos and seminars in kitchen and bar settings (kind of like they used to do back before the 2020s). CommuniCore Plaza will be an outdoor space that will host concerts and other entertainment. So what does this mean for this year’s Food and Wine Festival? Communicore Construction — mid-December 2023 We don’t currently have dates for the 2024 Food and Wine Festival, but we do know that the Flower and Garden Festival, the festival before Food and Wine, is ending earlier than expected, on May 27th. It is possible that the Food and Wine Festival could start earlier, be longer, and be the first festival to use the CommuniCore spaces. Communicore Hall Construction Construction is still ongoing over at CommuniCore Hall, but there’s a chance it will be done by Food and Wine Festival time which means the festival could possibly be longer (since Flower and Garden is done earlier this year), and it would likely showcase food and drink demos and seminars! Plus, if they open CommuniCore Plaza for the festival, we could get some all-new concerts and entertainment. This could possibly be the best Food and Wine Festival yet! CommuniCore Hall We’re keeping up with all the construction on CommuniCore Hall and Plaza, so we’ll keep you updated as we learn more! Keep following DFB for all your Disney news! 2 Major Changes We’re Expecting at the EPCOT Food and Wine Festival in 2024 IT'S WINE & DINE TIME! Food & Wine Festival can be a bummer. 6. One of our favorite drinks in EPCOT is getting a limited-time MAKEOVER! La Cava del Tequila If you’re planning to drink around the world at EPCOT’s World Showcase, then La Cava del Tequila is a must-visit spot on your list. This popular watering hole in the Mexico pavilion is one of the best places to grab a drink in EPCOT! For a limited time, one drink on the menu is getting a Galentine’s Day upgrade. Remember way back in 2022 when a fabulous new drink debuted at the EPCOT Festival of the Arts? The Lily made its first appearance at El Artista Hambriento booth, and it was love at first sight for our team. The Lily Model Lily Aldridge collaborated with La Cava del Tequila to create this drink for the festival, but people loved it so much that La Cava added it to their menu permanently! The version that was added permanently is a little different than the one that first arrived at the festival. The drink is now made with Casa Dragones Blanco Tequila, cranberry-lime juice, housemade rose petal & shimmering violet essence, with a rose-hibiscus salt rim. The Lily Margarita Since it was permanently added, we’ve seen several updates and limited-edition versions of this drink, including a SPOOKY Lily Margarita around Halloween time. Now, The Lily is getting a Galentine’s Day makeover, and it’s called the Sharing Lily Margarita! This one is also made with Casa Dragones Blanco tequila, and it has “a hint of floral essence,” according to La Cava’s announcement. The container it comes in is this beautiful purse-shaped glass. ©La Cava del Tequila This new edition will be available starting on February 13th, and no end date has been announced yet. It probably won’t stick around much longer than Valentine’s Day, though, so hurry in and grab yours before long! It’s only available for Table Service at La Cava, so you can’t grab one to go. ©La Cava del Tequila Want more tips and advice on drinking around the world at EPCOT? 7. If you’re thinking of heading to Disney World this weekend, consider this to be your fair warning. President’s Day is in February When you are in the parks basically every day, you start to pick up on a thing or two. Yep, we’ve seen the trends on how February might typically be a slower month for Disney World, but how the crowds just descend during this holiday weekend. That’s what we’re talking about and we want you to be prepared! This next weekend is President’s Day weekend. You wouldn’t be wrong to wonder what the big deal is, but we’re telling you to be ready for the crowds to show up in force! Crowds in Disney World for Presidents’ Day Weekend It never seems to fail that in Disney World, when the masses get an extra few days off, they arrive in droves to visit the parks, which, you guessed it, means there will almost assuredly big extra long lines, high wait times, and large crowds pretty much everywhere! It’s busy And this isn’t just hyperbole. We’ve seen this trend of massive crowds for years now. And let’s face it, if you live in a climate that’s cold in the winter, doesn’t a long weekend in Orlando in February sound like a great little break from wearing heavy coats, hats, and gloves? President’s Day Crowds 2022 So, with the holiday weekend, we definitely expect to see a significant uptick in park and hotel crowds this weekend. However, if you still would like to visit over the weekend and avoid the crowds, don’t worry. It can be done. Just make sure you’re strategic with your timing (be among the first people in the park) and if you need a break, head on over to Disney Springs or one of the resorts. Long lines even after opening We’ll be sure to keep you updated with more Disney news, so make sure to follow along so that you never miss a thing! 8. A HUGE celebrity sighting is happening at Disneyland today! Sleeping Beauty Castle Last night, Patrick Mahomes led the Kansas City Chiefs to victory in Super Bowl LVIII, which marks the Chiefs’ back-to-back win — the first time the Super Bowl has had back-to-back champions in almost 20 years. If you’re visiting Disneyland today, you might be able to catch a glimpse of the Super Bowl MVP! The Chiefs beat the San Francisco 49ers in an exciting game that went to overtime, resulting in a 25-22 score. The winning touchdown was scored by Mecole Hardman with just a few seconds left in overtime. ©USA Today After the Chiefs won the Super Bowl and while everyone was celebrating on the field, Patrick Mahomes was asked the traditional question, “You and the Kansas City Chiefs just won the Super Bowl — What are you going to do next?” Mahomes gave the same answer he’s given the last two times he’s led his team to victory: “I’m Going to Disneyland!” ©Disney This is Mahomes’ third Super Bowl victory and third Super Bowl MVP award. Mahomes and his family will be at Disneyland Resort on Monday, February 12th, and Mahomes will be featured in the Super Bowl celebration cavalcade that begins at 2PM PT. The cavalcade will travel from “it’s a small world” down Main Street, U.S.A. Be sure to get a spot along that route if you want to spot him! Patrick Mahomes at Disneyland 2023 Many people are wondering if other Chiefs players could be in the cavalcade, too, especially Travis Kelce. And if Kelce is there…could Taylor Swift be there too?? Disney hasn’t confirmed that anyone else is going, but we’ll be there to find out and bring you coverage of the parade! 11. Last year, Disney treated us to a tear-jerker of a Super Bowl commercial that looked back at the company’s 100 years through iconic films, theme park scenes, and the words of Walt Disney himself. This year’s Super Bowl ad has left us, well, … scratching our heads. Disneyland The commercial for Disney+ has people all over social media asking, “WHAT DOES IT MEAN?” Here’s a look at the Disney+ ad: As you can see, the commercial is pretty … sparse, to say the least. It includes a series of lines and catchphrases — just black type on a white screen — from franchises including Marvel, Star Wars, The Muppets, Indiana Jones, High School Musical, Lilo and Stitch, Cars, Snow White, Toy Story, and more. But it’s how the ad ends that has fans asking questions. The screen suddenly shifts to black and in white type says, “… Ready for It?” The ad then fades to black and ends with the Disney+ logo. Now, IF you are a Taylor Swift fan, you already know that “… Ready for It?” is a Taylor Swift song from the Reputation album. Disney just announced this week that The Eras Tour film will be streaming on Disney+ starting March 15th. ©Disney And yeah, that’s probably the reference at the end of the ad. But. BUT. Swifties have been speculating for MONTHS that Taylor will soon announce the release of the “Taylor’s Version” re-recording of her Reputation album. It was believed that would happen last week at the Grammy’s. I mean, everyone was SURE. Until she announced a brand-new album that no one knew about instead. Taylor’s die-hard fans are still convinced Reputation Taylor’s Version is coming soon, though, and so the Disney+ ad that just aired is spinning the speculation back up. We’ll keep waiting. And watching. And bringing you all the Disney news here on DFB! Could Taylor Swift Be in Disneyland on February 12th?! Join the DFB Newsletter to get all the breaking news right in your inbox! 14. Some Disney World snacks are worth the HYPE. Salt & Straw We’ll never not sing the praises of Mickey waffles. We’ll also never stop talking about Gideon’s Bakehouse cookies (and we will stand in loooong lines to get them). 15. Birthdays at Disney World are THE BEST. What are YOU celebrating in Disney World? First, you can get a free button telling everyone about your birthday (and yes, Cast Members will wish you a Happy Birthday). Wearing the button can also sometimes get you some extra pixie dust around the parks, like a birthday surprise at a Disney World restaurant. We’ve even seen Mickey conduct other guests to sing “Happy Birthday” for someone celebrating their special day. Well, did you know you can also get free cookies on your birthday? We’ve already told you all about one of Disney World’s newest restaurants, Summer House on the Lake in Disney Springs — we even have a review of that restaurant here. Spoiler alert: it’s a bright, lively restaurant with a diverse menu (and nice BATHROOMS, too). The front room We have also talked a LOT about the restaurant’s COOKIE BAR because, well…it’s a COOKIE BAR. The Cookie Bar Well, we recently dined at Summer House on the Lake (with a Birthday Celebration button on), and we were lucky enough to get a FREE cookie! And y’all, these cookies are HUGE, so this was one of our favorite birthday treats! COOKIE! Granted, this is something that other Disney World restaurants do, too (we’ve had our share of free birthday cupcakes, that’s for sure!), However, we do have to warn you that it’s not guaranteed that you’ll get any freebies during your meal, but you might get lucky like we did. Disney likes to spread that birthday magic around, after all. Summer House on the Lake Don’t forget to look out for more birthday freebies around Disney Springs! 16. The DisneylandForward project has been discussed with Disney and the city of Anaheim for the future revamping of Disneyland Resort. DisneylandForward concept art ©Disney The project began in 2021 and is a multi-year expansion of the Disneyland Resort. It’s a redesign that would update two existing approvals from the 1990s. The plan would need to change zoning regulations that are currently in effect with the city and would not involve purchasing new land, but instead re-zone current land use. Disney has shared that the project would expand the current land to include new lands, attractions, resorts, retail locations, and dining options. The idea of new lands and attractions coming to Disneyland has certainly led us to start dreaming up just what we hope comes to the theme park district. Disney has shared some theming ideas for the expansion. The ideas included concepts from Black Panther, Coco, Tangled, Frozen, Zootopia, Peter Pan, Tron, and Toy Story. During a recent Anaheim City Council meeting, Disney specifically referenced their new lands in the international parks. Zootopia at Shanghai Disney Resort, World of Frozen at Hong Kong Disneyland, and Fantasy Springs coming soon to Tokyo DisneySea were all brought up as examples for the DisneylandForward expansion. Fantasy Springs ©Disney Disney has brought up the movie Coco several times as a possible theme in one of their parks. At one point, it was discussed as the possible theme for the Magic Kingdom expansion. When that was being considered, Disney mentioned that you might be able to fly like Miguel did in the movie, which would be so cool! There is also a Coco-themed restaurant in Disneyland Paris. Concept art of potential Magic Kingdom expansion including ‘Coco’ and Villains If Disney is referencing their new international lands as possible concepts for the new DisneylandForward project, we have a few ideas about what could be coming to the new expansion. Disney hasn’t confirmed anything, yet, but we would be pretty excited to see the following making their way from the international parks into California. A Snuggly Duckling If you’re familiar with the movie Tangled, then you may remember the Snuggly Duckling. The Snuggly Duckling is the name of the pub that Rapunzel and Flynn Rider end up in that houses all the thugs, and it’s where we find out all of their dreams. And now, the Snuggly Duckling is soon to be a real place that you can visit! Snuggly Duckling Pub ©Disney The Snuggly Duckling is coming to Rapunzel’s Forest in Fantasy Springs at Tokyo DisneySea this spring. Disney specifically mentioned Rapunzel’s Forest in their meeting about DisneylandForward, so we immediately thought of another Snuggly Duckling coming to Disneyland in California! We’ve got a dream to visit the Snuggly Duckling, and if it came to Disneyland that dream becoming reality would be much easier. Everything Coming to Rapunzel’s Forest in Fantasy Springs Jumbeaux’s Cafe Jumbeaux’s Cafe is from the movie Zootopia. And now that Zootopia Land is officially open in Shanghai Disney, you can actually visit Jumbeaux’s Cafe and get the world-famous Pawpsicles! ©Disney When Disney mentioned possible Zootopia attractions coming to Disneyland, all we could think about was eating one of these jumbo paw-shaped popsicles! You know food is always on our minds, so this was a safe bet for us. We think a Jumbeaux’s Cafe would be amazing in the new district. Everything You Can Do in Zootopia! Wandering Oaken’s Sliding Sleighs Ok, let’s head over to the new World of Frozen in Hong Kong Disneyland. There’s a ton of cool stuff in this new land that we would love to see come to California, but there’s one ride there that is nowhere else in the world — Wandering Oaken’s Sliding Sleighs! Wandering Oaken’s Sliding Sleighs We really enjoyed getting to ride this ride, and we think it would be great to have it in Disneyland! A cute, family-friendly roller coaster in Disneyland would be a great addition. Everything in World of Frozen in Hong Kong Disney! Olaf Ice Cream Remember, we think, talk, and dream about food. The sweet treats in World of Frozen are no exception. We tried lots of delicious food there, but the cute Olaf ice cream cone would be fun to have in sunny California. Hi, Olaf! We wouldn’t be mad if we got an entire Frozen-themed sweets shop in Disneyland. There were so many goodies in World of Frozen that we would totally eat again if they were in California! Our Top 2 Foods in World of Frozen! Fly Like Miguel As we said, Disney had teased a possible flying attraction in a Coco-themed land in Magic Kingdom at Disney World. We haven’t heard any updates to what the Magic Kingdom expansion might be, so it’s possible that it could still include Coco. However, Disney has also mentioned Coco as a possible theme coming to Disneyland. 50th ‘Coco’ statues in EPCOT So, could we see a new ride that takes you flying like Miguel in the movie come to Disneyland? Maybe! Anything is possible with Disney. Who knows, maybe both locations (Disneyland and Disney World) could get the same attraction. Or perhaps Disney has moved onto other concepts for Magic Kingdom. We are eagerly waiting for information for BOTH locations. Find Out About the NEW Magic Kingdom Expansion Details Coco Restaurant If we continue to draw on inspiration from the international parks (and keep talking about food), then perhaps a Coco-themed restaurant could come to Disneyland! ©Disney Casa de Coco – Restaurante de Familia is a relatively new restaurant in Disneyland Paris. It features Mexican-inspired dishes such as several burrito options and of course churros. It also has amazing and bright details. If Disney is going to bring new dining options to Disneyland in California we vote for this restaurant (but we do really love burritos)! ©Disney Take a Look Inside the NEW Coco Restaurant We will most likely have to wait a while to find out any specific details coming to DisneylandForward. There are a few more meetings planned and the next proposal is scheduled for March at an Anaheim Planning Commission hearing. A vote will be held in late spring. And then, Disney has shared that the project will be ongoing for the next 40 years. We are always on the lookout for new information, so be sure to follow DFB for all your Disney news! 19. Imagine this: you’ve planned the perfect Disney World vacation. The last thing you want to do is get sick in Disney World because of a ride You’ve picked out the BEST hotel to stay at for you and your group. You’ve got your park tickets. You’ve scanned into the park, and you’re ready to ride some rides. Well, maybe you ride something a little too extreme and then end up feeling sick for the rest of the day. It’s the WORST, and believe us, it’s happened to EVERYONE, but we’re going to help you avoid those rides that tend to make people sick. Okay, we know that some people can ride just about anything and literally feel NOTHING, but many of us have to avoid the spinny rides and the more thrilling rides because, well, we know they’ll make us sick. We’re writing this based on a LOT of unfortunate experiences, so you don’t have to go through what we’ve been through. So, if you deal with motion sickness or vertigo or just can’t handle certain things like spinning, tight turns, and motion simulators, avoid these rides at all costs. Magic Kingdom Okay, we know this one is a no-brainer. The Mad Tea Party is the ABSOLUTE worst because all you do is spin in circles in a teacup. Does that really even SOUND like fun? The thing is, kids LOVE this ride, which means one adult is going to have to take one for the team to ride with their kids. All we can say is “NOT IT.” Mad Tea Party You’ll also want to avoid Space Mountain. Granted, it’s not as bad as the teacups, but because the ride is in the dark, you can never see the next turn or dip coming. Also, this ride is just ROUGH. If you don’t mind having every bone inside your body shaken loose, then, by all means, get on Space Mountain. Also, is it just us getting old, or is this ride getting harder to get into and out of? Space Mountain will shake you to your core Okay, now on to the other spinning rides. If spinning bothers you, you’ll also want to avoid Dumbo the Flying Elephant, Astro Orbiters, and The Magic Carpets of Aladdin. If you have doubts about any ride, though, you can always view POV ride videos before your trip to determine if it might cause problems for you. 7 Rides Disney World Pros SKIP in Magic Kingdom EPCOT There’s one ride in EPCOT that even our bravest souls here at DFB avoid, and that’s Mission: SPACE. Why? Because it will put you on the very same centrifuge that is used to train astronauts to tolerate high G-forces. Unless you’re training as an astronaut, why would you EVER want to go on something like that? If you MUST ride, avoid the orange side and head for the green (that’s the non-spinning version). Of all the rides in Disney World, this one has probably made the most visitors hurl. There are literally vomit bags IN the ride. Mission: SPACE Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind is one of the newest and HOTTEST rides in Disney World right now, but if you get even a little motion sick at all, you’ll want to avoid it. This roller coaster has a reverse launch, tight turns, and spinning. Even some of our more seasoned thrill ride vets felt a little rough after their first ride on this one. Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind Even if you’re okay with most motion simulator rides, many folks find Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure a little nauseating. That’s because the action on the screen is super fast, plus the vehicle makes tight turns and does some spinning. It’s also 3D, which is often a problem for folks who easily get motion sickness. It’s not as bad as Body Wars (and if you know, you know), but it’s close. The 5 Best Rides at EPCOT (And the 5 Worst!) Disney’s Hollywood Studios Okay, Star Wars fans, we’ve got two rides that may cause some issues for you. The first is Star Tours, which is a 3D adventure that simulates a thrilling chase through space. If motion simulators make you sick, this one is one to skip. We also have to warn you about Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run. It’s also a motion simulator (although without the 3D glasses) and can also cause issues for folks sensitive to that. Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run Over in Toy Story Land, you’ll want to avoid Alien Swirling Saucers because it’s a ride that spins. You’ll also want to rethink Slinky Dog Dash. Although this isn’t a super extreme roller coaster, it’s got a lot of tight turns that could make you feel a little dizzy. Most people MIGHT be able to tolerate it, but why take any chances? Slinky Dog Dash The only ride you’ll find in Disney World with an upside-down loop is Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster, which is why you’ll probably want to stay away from it. Granted, the roller coaster is in the dark, and you might not even realize you’re going through a loop, but this one has also been known to make people feel sick after riding it. We’re SURPRISED at Which Rides YOU THINK Are the Best in Disney’s Hollywood Studios Disney’s Animal Kingdom Over in DinoLand, U.S.A., you’ll find TriceraTop Spin, which has the word “spin” in its title. It’s a Dumbo-like ride, but it does go around in a circle over and over, so you might want to keep away. We also have to warn you about Dinosaur because it’s a ROUGH ride that might not make you feel sick, but it could shake your bones up as much as Space Mountain, if not more. Our backs hurt just thinking about it. Dinosaur Expedition Everest may look like a lot of fun, and it is for most people, but when some of us get to that point where the coaster goes backward and then does three circles WHILE going backward, it can be a bit too much. If spinning and going in circles makes you sick, skip it. Expedition Everest Flight of Passage may be one of Disney World’s most popular rides, but that doesn’t mean it’s for everyone. This is another ride where you wear 3D glasses and sit in front of a screen that simulates swooping and soaring through the sky. 4 Rides Disney World Pros SKIP in Disney’s Animal Kingdom Now, we know that everyone is different, so some rides that aren’t on this list could be problematic for you, and some on this list might be fine for you. We recommend you take some time to research every ride to decide for yourself. Stay tuned to DFB for more. I Go to Disney World Every Day. Here Are My Top 5 Comfort Rides. 20. Disney on Ice is currently on tour in the United States. There are five unique shows happening now, including “Find Your Hero,” “Into the Magic,” “Frozen & Encanto,” “Mickey’s Search Party,” and “Magic in the Stars.” ©Disney In Minneapolis, Minnesota, a skater was injured during Disney on Ice’s “Magic in the Stars” show. The accident took place on Saturday, February 10th, 2024. ©Disney on Ice A statement by Feld Entertainment, the production company involved with the show, indicated that the skater who plays Belle fell while performing a lift during a pairs skating performance. 21. Have you ever set sail on Disney Cruise Line? Disney Wish at Castaway Cay Maybe you’ve taken a vacation on board the Disney Wish, or maybe your first cruise will be on Disney’s NEWEST ship, the Treasure, which will take its maiden voyage later this year. Well, we have something to warn you about: a new Bahamas tax law could make your next cruise a bit more expensive. Currently, if you visit the Bahamas on a cruise, you pay a 10% Value Added Tax (VAT) on most of your purchases. However, private islands owned by cruise ships were exempt from requiring that. Well, that’s changing. According to The Tribune, a local Bahamas news outlet, a new Bahamas law will require a VAT tax for purchases from private islands, too. Mount Rustmore at Castaway Cay So that means the next time you visit Disney’s private island, Castaway Cay, things will cost Disney a bit more than before, thanks to this additional 10% VAT tax. This would also affect Lighthouse Cay at Lighthouse Point, Disney Cruise Line’s new destination in the Bahamas. Mickey and Goofy at Castaway Cay Simon Wilson, who is the Ministry of Finance’s financial secretary in the country, said, “When we implemented VAT originally, we were under the impression given to us by the cruise lines that any commercial activity on the private islands was an extension of the package purchased [by passengers] on ship – they were indistinguishable. That’s not the case. It’s a different commercial experience.” Adult-only beach at Castaway Cay Cruise lines will be required to register for VAT if they own a private island or reach at least $100,000 in annual taxable sales. That means they’ll have to pay the VAT tax on a cruise line’s private island for things like souvenirs, food and beverages, recreational activities, equipment rentals, spa services, and more. Even things like cabana rentals and shore excursions would have to add this tax. Castaway Cay Cruise lines might absorb these costs without passing them on to the passenger, at least initially, though we’ll have to keep an eye on prices to see if a price hike eventually arrives. The new tax will increase cruise lines’ operating costs, which could mean that costs will eventually affect customer pricing. Like it or not, your next cruise could potentially cost more. 25. Over the past year, we’ve seen a lot of changes happening with Disney+. ©Disney In an effort to make streaming more profitable, Disney has not only raised the price of the streaming subscription service, but it’s also started to integrate Hulu, one of Disney’s OTHER streaming services, into the app. Disney also recently began to crack down on account sharing, and now the Disney+ subscriber agreement reflects that update. Disney+ subscribers, you might want to check your email for an email titled, “We’re updating our Subscriber Agreement.” The email is easy to miss since, let’s be honest, who takes the time to read every word in those subscriber agreements? But you’re going to want to hear what Disney has to say this time. ©Disney Disney’s subscriber agreement was recently updated and now has a new section labeled “Account Sharing” that states: “Unless otherwise permitted by your service tier, you may not share your subscription outside of your household. ‘Household’ means the collection of devices associated with your primary personal residence that are used by the individuals that reside therein.” ©Disney You may notice that it also says that “Additional usage rules may apply for certain Service Tiers.” During The Walt Disney Company’s recent Q1 2024 earnings call, Disney revealed that it is working on a paid option for subscribers to add on to their accounts that will allow account sharing outside the household. So, if you want to share your account with someone else (who doesn’t live with you), you’ll need to pay extra for it. This new subscriber agreement also applies to ESPN+. ©ESPN These terms apply NOW for new subscribers. For prior and existing subscribers, these terms will go into effect on March 14th, unless users acknowledge an in-app notice of these changes before March 14th. Disney+ Poster Disney also added some new rules for those using a Disney+ gift card and added new information regarding billing timing. Note that Disney’s email may have ended up in your Junk/Spam folder, so make sure to check it out so you’re aware of all the changes.
