  1. They’re warm. They’re yummy. They’re picky eater-approved. You can’t go wrong! Yessiree, we’re talking about chicken tenders. They’re a Disney World staple for many; can you even visit Disney World without grabbing a basket of piping hot tendies? Anyway, sometimes we find ourselves missing these bad boys and we wish we could have them at home. Well, we found out that you totally CAN have them at home. As long as you know a Disney World Cast Member. Cast Connections is basically a Cast Member-exclusive Costco that’s tucked away on Disney World property. Here, you can find all sorts of extras. Extra merchandise, extra Annual Passholder magnets, extra decorations from hotel rooms, and yes — extra food that won’t get used at the theme parks. (Plus, “damaged” things will likely end up here! It’s like a Disney TJ Maxx or HomeGoods!) Chicken tenders Here, you can buy gigantic bags of Disney World chicken tenders. Yes, really! If you didn’t realize that Disney’s chicken tenders were frozen and then heated, we’re sorry to inform you of this news. Chicken Tenders So… how can YOU get yourself inside Cast Connetions and get that giant bag of tendies in your hands? Well, you can ask a Cast Member friend to get them for you the next time they visit, or if they’re feeling extra generous or social, they might even take you with them. Chicken tenders Yep, Cast Members can have guests at Cast Connections! Oh, and did we mention that those chicken tenders taste super yummy if you also snag some of the Mickey waffles there? You’re welcome. Chicken Tenders and Mickey Waffles Pop the chicken tenders in the air fryer for some extra yum. You’re welcome, again. (Just call us Maui.) 3. You know when your sibling did something super annoying growing up, and you’d be like, “I love you, but I REALLY don’t like you right now”? Magic Kingdom That’s how we occasionally feel about Disney World. As much as we love the parks and all things Disney World, there are a few things about visiting Disney World that are a little… inconvenient. Okay, we won’t sugarcoat it. Some things are just annoying. However, they aren’t so annoying that we’ll stop visiting the parks, you feel me? The team here at DFB had a little rant sesh — here are the things we find to be the MOST annoying at Disney World right now. It goes without saying that we’re only being halfway serious. Well, three-quarters of the way serious. Okay, let’s rant! Having to wait for a ride back to the TTC after fireworks. It’s a tale as old as time. It’s the end of the night in Magic Kingdom, the fireworks have just ended, and everybody and their momma is headed for the monorail, ferryboat, or buses. Monorail The wait can be long and grueling. We’re not exactly sure how much Disney could even do to combat this, but we’re complaining anyway. Our feet hurt! We usually end up staying in Magic Kingdom for a while after the fireworks to allow those crowds to disperse. This is a great time to take advantage of those shorter waits in the park as a lot of folks are beginning the journey back to the hotel! Click here for more about Magic Kingdom’s fireworks show: Happily Ever After All the construction. Construction is running RAMPANT at Disney World right now, which is truly a double-edged sword. The good news is that new things and refreshed areas are coming our way. The bad news is that right now it’s sort of ugly and inconvenient. Tiana’s Bayou Adventure The largest construction projects are currently taking place in EPCOT (CommuniCore Hall and Plaza) and in Magic Kingdom (Tiana’s Bayou Adventure.) With Disney’s recent park expansion announcements, it seems like we’ll just have to get used to all the construction. Click here to see some HUGE updates on Tiana’s Bayou Adventure! Parking inconsistencies at the hotels. Recently, security guards have cracked down on allowing visitors to park at Disney World hotels. In the past, folks were able to park in the hotel lots to run in and grab quick service orders. Now, you MUST have a reservation at a table service restaurant in order to park in most cases. Parking isn’t as easy as it used to be IN MOST CASES. At the Monorail resorts, Riviera, BoardWalk, and other deluxe hotels, security is very strict about this. However, they don’t mention it at all over at hotels like the All Star Resorts, Pop Century, and other value hotels. It’s hard to guess which hotels will allow you to park for quick service and which ones won’t, so we recommend playing it safe and not trying to park unless you have a valid table service reservation. Is driving your best option? Click here to learn about Disney World transportation! Annual Passholders still need reservations. On January 9th, 2024, park pass reservation requirements went away for most guests. Annual Pass These changes didn’t apply to Annual Passhholders, though, as they still need a valid park pass reservation before 2PM each day. (Everyone needs reservations all day long on the weekends if visiting Magic Kingdom.) Disney also removed park hopping restrictions on the same day, so anyone can park hop anywhere after they scan into a park. So… a lot of folks are wondering WHY it even matters for Annual Passholders! If they’re just going to scan in to another park almost immediately, why have a restriction in place? Click here to see the exception for Annual Passholder reservation requirements! 5. Performers at Disneyland Resort announced today that they intend to unionize. Sleeping Beauty Castle at Disneyland Actors’ Equity Association — the same union that represents performers and stage managers at Disney World, on Broadway, and in many live theater productions across the United States — will represent the Disneyland employees. The new Cast Member unionization effort calls itself “Magic United.” The group plans to represent entertainment cast members to include theatrical performers, parade performers, character performers, and host, leads and trainers that support the entertainment department, as well. Birthday Parade for Mickey and Minnie in Disneyland! Leaders are circulating union authorization cards to 1,700 Cast Members who would be eligible to join the union. If a majority of the workers sign, the union will ask Disney to recognize the union. Most of the 35,000 employees at Disneyland Resort are already represented by labor unions, as are the majority of the 70,000 employees at Disney World. Performers at Disney World are already represented by the Actor’s Equity Association. “Equity already represents hundreds of performers at Walt Disney World in Orlando, and we have a long and successful bargaining relationship with Disney,” said Actors’ Equity Association President Kate Shindle. “We look forward to extending that work to include these Cast Members in Anaheim and applaud them for their incredible work on the campaign thus far.” Rogers the Musical stage show at Disney California Adventure If Disney does not voluntarily authorize the union, Actor’s Equity representatives will follow a petitioning process established by the National Labor Relations Board, the union said today in a statement. “Our Walt Disney World colleagues exemplify how you can be pro-Disney and pro-union at the same time. Furthermore, the vast majority of our park colleagues here in Anaheim already have union representation. It’s a win/win: when we can speak with a collective voice, we can have a clearer, more productive conversation with our employer,” Magic United said today in a statement. 6. You just never know when you’ll encounter a weird situation in Disney World! EPCOT We’ve seen some pretty strange things in the parks, but this latest mishap that we encountered recently could cost you valuable time during your Disney World trip if you’re not prepared! Here’s how it went. On a recent trip out to EPCOT, we decided to stop by Crêpes À Emporter by La Crêperie de Paris to grab a quick snack. What started off as a normal stop by a restaurant for a bite to eat turned into quite an adventure! Crêpes À Emporter by La Crêperie de Paris We hopped into the lengthy line and waited for our turn to order. Shortly after popping into the line, a Cast Member from the restaurant informed us of an issue with their credit card system that was keeping them from accepting debit and credit card payments. Menu Although their system wasn’t able to take card payments during this time, they were able to accept cash payments and Disney gift cards. Here’s where things really took a turn! We thought, “No problem, we’ll just order an e-gift card through shopDisney,” but after we placed our order for the online gift card, the line started moving up pretty quickly (several people were hopping out of line then) and our online order didn’t have enough time to process and send out the gift card to our email by the time we reached the front section of the line. ©Disney So, we ended up canceling that order in favor of picking up a physical gift card from a nearby shop. The closest shop to us in France was Souvenirs de France, and that’s where we encountered an unexpected twist! France Pavilion The Cast Member at the register informed us they are only allowed to reload existing Disney gift cards at their store and only certain stores around the World Showcase are capable of selling new cards. The closest one to us at this point was World Traveler (by the International Gateway park entrance). World Traveler So, off to the International Gateway we went to track down a brand-new Disney gift card to load and activate. Fortunately, we were able to purchase the new card quickly and without any issue (and we were successfully able to complete our snack purchase when we popped back into the line for our crepe!). Gift Cards The search to activate and load a new gift card was quite an adventure and one that if you weren’t expecting it in advance, could cause quite the hiccup to your day. Knowing what we do now, it’s probably safe to bet we’ll be carrying around a reloadable Disney gift card with us more frequently to avoid these issues in the future! 8. Y’all, we have been getting A TON of Disney announcements recently. Walt Disney Studios From the announcement of the opening of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure to hearing about a possible 5th gate at Walt Disney World, there is SO much to take in right now. We LOVE hearing about all of the things for us to be excited for, and with the heavy emphasis on news in the parks, we’ve been overlooking something — what Disney is planning to bring into the TV world in 2024! While we have been hearing a lot about what is coming to the Disney Parks, we can’t forget about what is coming to Disney’s streaming services in 2024. Streaming is one of Disney CEO Bob Iger’s top priorities for 2024 — and there are some big plans for different shows that we can expect across the networks that Disney owns. Disney+ Billboard Disney also oversees multiple media companies and platforms — like ABC, Hulu, ESPN, and Freeform. So, Disney has a wide array of shows to create and different networks to premier them on. According to Disney Television Group president Craig Erwich, the decision on where to put certain content is made in a way that is complementary for the networks and shows. ©Disney So, what can we expect to see across the networks that Disney owns in 2024? Well, we’re glad you asked! One thing that is on the table and announced for 2024 is more Goosebumps, which has officially been renewed for its second season on Disney+. Goosebumps is an anthology series that follows a different storyline throughout each season. During Season 2, they plan to follow teenage siblings who discover a threat in their home — and we’ll have to tune in to see how that unfolds! Goosebumps season 1 ©Disney Along with that, a season of The Golden Bachelorette has been announced. It is planned to air this fall on ABC! Right now, they’re still casting for the upcoming season. The first season of this spinoff, The Golden Bachelor, was the second most-watched show on the network while it was airing. We’re excited to see what it is like when the roles reverse! ©ABC A show that has been announced to be in development right now is based on the popular book series A Court of Thorns and Roses; however, Disney did not have any updates to share surrounding that. ©ABC We’re so excited to see these shows unfold once they are released. Until then, we’re keeping up with all of the latest Disney news — so keep checking in with us at DFB to see what we find next! 13. We’ve got an important update for all the Disney World Annual Passholders out there! Disney World Annual Pass Disney just added even MORE Good-to-Go days to the calendar, which means you can visit the Disney World theme parks without a reservation on a few upcoming days! Disney World got rid of Park Pass Reservations for most tickets in January of this year, but Annual Passholders still need to get those park passes any time they want to visit, with a few exceptions. One of those exceptions is “Good-to-Go” days! On Good-to-Go days, Passholders do not need Park Pass Reservations. Scanning in We’ve seen several updates to the calendar with new Good-to-Go days announced, and now even MORE have been added! Previously, the last Good-to-Go day was February 13th, but now the 27th, 28th, and 29th have been added. These new Good-to-Go days are available for all Pass types — Incredi Pass, Sorcerer Pass, Pirate Pass, and Pixie Pass. ©Disney To view Good-to-Go days, Passholders just need to check the Annual Pass calendar. You can see our guide to viewing Good-to-Go days here! The days are added on a rolling basis “days or weeks in advance,” and so far they’ve been added fairly last-minute. We still haven’t seen any days added past February yet. Passholder Entrance If you’re planning a trip to Disney World, we recommend making those Park Pass Reservations ASAP, and then if the dates of your trip become Good-to-Go days later on, Disney will remove the reservation from your account automatically, freeing it up to be used on another day. But it’s safer to have the pass, just in case the days aren’t Good-to-Go! Walt Disney World Annual Pass Don’t forget this other exception to the Annual Pass Park Pass rule: Excluding Magic Kingdom on Saturdays and Sundays, Passholders can enter any theme park without a reservation after 2PM. So if you’re just going in the afternoon, you won’t need a Park Pass (unless you’re going to Magic Kingdom on the weekend)! Annual Pass Good-to-Go days can be viewed online or on the My Disney Experience app. Click here to learn how to view upcoming “Good-to-Go” days. 14. When it comes to formerly-announced and upcoming Disney World projects, it can be hard to keep up. Play! Pavilion (behind Mission: SPACE gift shop) The Play! Pavilion in EPCOT was set to arrive before the 50th Anniversary Celebration at Disney World, but was never completed. The interactive play area was set to reside inside the Wonders of Life Pavilion behind the Mission: SPACE gift shop. The “digital metropolis” was going to feature interactive experiences, games, entertainment, hands-on activities… AND favorite Disney characters, both virtual and real. However, in early 2023, after the experience hadn’t opened after three years, it disappeared off the park map entirely. Now, though, we think it could make a comeback… Disney held its quarter 1 earnings call for fiscal 2023 on February 7th, and we learned that Disney and the creators of Fortnite, Epic Games, would be collaborating to bring more Disney experiences to the online gaming platform. The $1.5 billion investment collaboration is meant to build out a Disney universe that will be for gameplay, entertainment, AND shopping, and according to Disney, “represents our biggest foray into the game space ever.” ©Disney/Epic Games This got shareholders thinkin’ a bit, though. If Disney is coming to Fortnite, will Fortnite come to Disney? We totally think it could. And we think it could happen in the former Play! Pavilion. Here’s why. Before Disney shared its upcoming collaboration with Epic Games, they announced Holo Tile technology. Disney describes the Holo Tile floor technology as the “world’s first multi-person, omni-directional, modular, expandable, treadmill floor.” Basically, all those tiny tiles you see rotate and move to keep any object in the center of the floor. What’s more, MULTIPLE people can be on the floor moving in different directions simultaneously. ©Disney Basically, this could allow virtual reality games and experiences to feel even more like reality. It will allow you to physically MOVE through the experience and to sort of trick your brain into thinking that you’re movin’ and groovin’ along with what you see in a VR headset or on a screen. Are you following? Okay, great. Next, let’s talk about Disney’s collaboration with Apple for the Apple Vision Pro headset that was just released. Disney announced on January 16th that “fans will be able to experience Disney’s iconic stories like never before with Disney+ on Apple Vision Pro, Apple’s revolutionary spatial computer, offering Disney+ subscribers with a Vision Pro device a new way to stream entertainment at no additional cost.” If you can do that at home, what would you be able to do with similar technology at a Disney Park? ©Apple Okay, so I think we’re now up to speed. So. WHAT IF: Disney put Holo Tile technology in the Play! Pavilion, partnered with Apple to bring Apple Vision Pro to the Pavilion, allowed Holo Tile and the VR headset to work together, and THEN visitors could explore the all-new Fortnite realm with said technology? Is your brain exploding? Ours, too. PLAY! Pavilion as of January 2023 We think we could be on to something. We headed over to Disney’s Port Orleans Resort today to check out their Mardi Gras celebration, including a rare PARADE! Come with us to check it out! Disney actually has TWO Port Orleans Resort hotels — Riverside and French Quarter. Both are celebrating the holiday, but most of the party can be found at French Quarter. Play it, Gator! 17. There are so many NEW things announced for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure! Tiana’s Bayou Adventure News recently broke of exciting animatronic figures that will be found within the ride and it appears Disney has moved up a more firm timeline of when we can anticipate the ride to open this year. But, something new can be found at the ride RIGHT NOW! A new mural has been revealed at Tiana’s Bayou Adventure! The new mural can be found along the construction walls that are on the outside corner facing the Frontierland and Adventureland split and features one of the most prominent characters from The Princess and the Frog film. This new mural design shows Louis the Alligator blowing his mighty trumpet along with an invite that says, “Come join the party.” New mural! While Louis is playing you can see musical notes, jazz instruments like a tambourine, saxophone, and drum, and a small parasail which are all elements of celebration in New Orleans. The top right-hand corner is most interesting though, revealing the anticipated opening timeline for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure to be summer 2024! Updated opening timeline! 19. Ever since Disney announced its $60 billion investment into the parks and cruises, fans have been speculating as to what exactly that might mean (it’s us, we’re “fans”.) Could a 5th Disney World park be coming? One expert even went so far as to predict that an announcement about a fifth theme park would be coming soon, saying, “You’re going to see a big announcement. … They’re going to add a fifth park.” While Disney hasn’t made any official announcements about another theme park in Orlando, we do know that there are plans for one — sort of. Universal turned the theme park world upside-down after dropping a whole slew of announcements recently. The new park will feature five NEW themed lands, with five new restaurants, plus two new hotels nearby. This has left many Disney fans wondering what Disney plans on doing in response. Pandora We know that a $60 billion investment into the parks has been announced by Disney, but no concrete plans for that investment have been revealed just yet. We’re already seeing the addition of at least one new attraction — Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, an update for a classic attraction — The Country Bear Jamboree, a re-theming of an entire land — Dinoland USA is going away, plus an expansion at Magic Kingdom. Tiana’s Bayou Adventure These facts, coupled with Disney’s earlier confirmation that a fifth theme park is at least on the table, could mean that it’s more possible than we originally thought. Hollywood Studios In early 2023, the Reedy Creek Improvement District (now called the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District, which governs most of Disney World), released its comprehensive land-use plan that outlines the next 10 years’ worth of future developments within the district. And, within that land-use plan is the idea that Disney could build a “major” new theme park in the future. ©Reedy Creek Not only that, but Disney has also included two more “minor” theme parks in those plans, along with plenty of new hotel rooms. Keep in mind that just because Disney has approved these plans for potential future development doesn’t mean they’re set in stone. In fact, Disney has noted that although the numbers allow “for development of one major and two minor theme parks, there are no plans under review.” Cinderella Castle The first step of approving the plan for potential future development was already done some time ago. A resolution was passed to consider changing the land-use regulations so that this plan could actually move forward, and while nothing has been done yet, it’s possible Disney’s battle with the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District could complicate things. So, while there are no official development plans yet, the door is still open for Disney to do so in the future. Animal Kingdom was the last Disney World park built back in 1998, and we’ve been wondering what might come next since. ©RCID Instead of announcing a fifth gate, Disney has made massive expansions and transformations in its existing parks including the “New Fantasyland” Magic Kingdom expansion that opened in 2012, the addition of the Pandora land in Animal Kingdom in 2017, the opening of Toy Story Land and Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge in Hollywood Studios in 2018, and the EPCOT transformation of many areas of EPCOT that should be complete this year. Slinky Dog Dash As far as what fans would want to see from a fifth park, well, we don’t need to speculate there. We asked our readers who said Disney needs to build a park with more thrill rides that can compete with Universal — and we don’t disagree. Or, something like Tokyo DisneySea with more themed lands and different versions of iconic rides. ©Disney A Disney Villains Park was quite possibly the most overwhelming response our readers gave, though. Folks have been speculating about a potential “Dark Kingdom” theme park based on unrelated parks projects, rumors, and more, and it seems like fans really want it to come true. Possible Land Expansion in Magic Kingdom ©Disney Of course, we can’t predict the future (no matter how hard we try) but one thing is for sure — we’ll be on the lookout for any potential updates about a new theme park or current expansions underway at Disney World. 21. Disney is no stranger to tough business battles. ©Disney | Walt Disney Company Headquarters We’ve seen political controversy, attempted (and successful) mutinies, and outside proxy battles that could impact the future of the Walt Disney Company for years to come. Once again, Nelson Peltz and others have attempted to gain seats on Disney’s Board of Directors, with the Annual Meeting of Shareholders taking place in April. Disney is urging shareholders to vote for its nominees rather than outside candidates, and now Bob Iger is doing the same in a new video. Disney has released a new video starring CEO Bob Iger urging shareholders to vote for its slate of 12 nominees for the Company’s Board of Directors. As a bit of a recap, the 2024 Walt Disney Company Annual Meeting of Shareholders is taking place on April 3rd. That’s when shareholders of the Walt Disney Company will vote on Nelson Peltz’s (and others’) attempt to gain seats on the Board of Directors. ©Disney Trian nominated Peltz and former Disney CFO James Rasulo to the Walt Disney Company board back in December. They later released a statement that said the group “Believes the Disney Board’s lack of focus, alignment, and accountability has resulted in chronic underperformance at one of the world’s most iconic companies.” ©Disney And now, Iger himself is urging shareholders to vote with Disney in the proxy fight, saying, “I’m urging you to vote FOR the Disney Board’s recommended slate of nominees on the white proxy card, and NOT to vote for the nominees presented by these activist hedge funds.” He reminded shareholders that “the leadership team at our company is experienced and highly motivated” and that they, as shareholders, “have the power to make sure we are able to continue our momentum from the past year.” ©Disney Disney has previously specified that “the Board does NOT endorse the nominations of Nelson Peltz and James Rasulo put forth by Trian Fund Management, L.P. and its affiliates, led by Nelson Peltz and supported by former Disney executive Isaac Perlmutter (collectively, the “Trian Group”).” The notice went on to say, “The Board recommends that shareholders do not vote for the Trian Group nominees, and that they reject a related proposal from the Trian Group to amend the Company Bylaws.” Disney also made it clear that the Board “does not endorse the nominations of Craig Hatkoff, Jessica Schell and Leah Solivan put forth for election as directors by Blackwells Onshore I LLC, Blackwells Capital LLC and Jason Aintabi (collectively, the “Blackwells Group”).” ©Getty Images We also recently got quite a few updates during Disney’s most recent earnings call — check out everything you missed in our roundup at this link! As for how the proxy battle might end up, we’ll have to wait for April 3rd. 23. We hate to be the ones to have to tell you this, but Disney has been lying to you. Better watch out for their growing noses! As much as we LOVE Disney, we have to expose these “lies” to you. They may not be explicitly lying to you or even mean to say untruthful things, but some things have become insinuated through their actions. So, we’re to clear the air, so to say. There are 6 lies that many of us have started to believe about Disney, and we needed to shed some light on the facts. We are some of the biggest Disney fans here at DFB. But we’re tired of falling for their bag of tricks. They have us wrapped around their marketing fingers, but we’re through with it, and you should be, too! So listen up, we don’t have to believe their “lies” any longer. Lie #1: You Should Be Eagerly Waiting for New Expansions and Attractions Disney has been stringing us along ever since they announced that they’re investing $60 billion into their experiences division. Since then, we have been on the edge of our seats every time CEO Bob Iger and Parks and Experiences Chairman Josh D’Amaro speak. ©Disney via IAAPA Expo 2020 Presentation We’ve recently learned that 70% of the investment is “earmarked for incremental capacity-expanding investment,” which to us sounds like expansions. But we have also been told that the majority of the funds will be used in the second half of the next decade. So, while we’ve been over here waiting and waiting for any sign of information about the Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, and Disneyland expansions, it’s potentially not coming for another 5 years. Disney has discussed an expansion past Big Thunder Mountain Railroad Expert Predicts Disney World Will Announce a 5th Park Lie #2: You Need to Be a Disney+ Subscriber/DVC Member/AP/Visa Cardholder to Have a Good Time in Disney World Disney is really good at marketing their “extras.” Disney+, Disney Vacation Club, Annual Passes, Visa credit cards, and more always look so enticing. Disney frequently announces perks and promotions for people who are part of these special groups. This can be things like a free Dining Plan, discounts at restaurants, or exclusive lounges in the parks. DVC lounge in EPCOT But the truth is, each of these special things will end up costing you MORE in the long run. A Disney+ subscription will cost you a monthly (or annual) fee, a credit card may get you to buy more, an annual pass can run you over $1,000, and Disney Vacation Club costs you an upfront cost plus annual fees. Hei Hei Annual Passholder magnet We’re not saying any of these things can’t be worth it for some people (many of us at DFB are members of several of these), but you don’t NEED them to have a good time in Disney World. A trip without these perks is still a great trip. If you don’t frequently go to Disney World, then the perks may not outweigh the cost for any one of these items. Every Single Disney World Annual Passholder Perk Lie #3: You Need to Buy the Dining Plan The Disney Dining Plan made a comeback in January this year, and now Disney entices you to add it to your park package. Don’t get us wrong, it can be a beneficial thing to buy, but whether or not it’s worth the price is completely circumstantial. AJ breaks down how the Disney Dining Plan may not be as efficient as Disney claims it to be in the video below! Basically, the Dining Plan can be expensive, and you may end up spending more on food by using it than you would without it. It may be convenient to pay for food ahead of your trip, but you certainly don’t NEED the Dining Plan to enjoy all the great food around Disney World. Is the Disney Dining Plan Worth It in 2024? Lie #4: You Need to Get a Park Hopper Ticket Another perk that returned in January is all-day park hopping! Now, we are big fans of park hopping, but only because we like to visit more than one park in a day. But if you’re plan is to only do one park a day and then “maybe” go to a second, you probably don’t need to spend the extra money for the park hopper ticket. EPCOT There is nothing wrong with staying in one park all day, so don’t let Disney lie to you! Enjoying one park to its fullest extent for the day is still a great day, especially if you don’t go to Disney World often. Park hopping can be tricky, and we often find ourselves doing it because we know exactly what we like to do and don’t care to do in each park. If you don’t go to Disney World every day like we do, that may not be a concern for you. Is Disney World’s Park Hopper Ticket Worth It and When? Lie #5: Staying More Days at the Parks Is Going to Cost You Less in the Long Run Disney has incentivized going to the parks for more days by decreasing the price of a park ticket per day the longer you stay. If we break this down it’s like this: a Disney World park ticket for one park for one day starts at $109 (that price can vary based on the day you pick to go, but we’re going to work with $109), but if you go for 10 days that price drops down and can get as low as $65 per day. This is all not including a park hopper or park hopper plus option. But it’s $65 per day times 10 days, so really instead of $109 for your trip ticket, you’ll be spending $650!! So yes, it can be cheaper for a ticket per day to go to Disney World for more days than just one, but overall you’ll be paying more for your tickets. Scanning in! Now, let’s consider all the other expenses you would have for those days. You would need a hotel for each additional day which will be over $100 at least, even at one of Disney’s Value Resorts. All-Star Movies Then, you’ll have the extra cost of food for each day you’re in the park (we always think about food, but it’s important!). There are multiple options for snacks and meals, but it all adds up each day you’re there. If you purchase Genie+ on any of the days, that’s another added cost. So, this lie that it’s cheaper to extend your trip is simply not true. How Many Days Do You Really Need in Disney World? Lie #6: You Need Genie+ Disney’s Genie+ is something you purchase on the day of your trip, and then you can make Lightning Lane selections (Disney’s line passing system) for that day. It can be very useful, and Disney advertises it everywhere. There’s this sense that if you don’t use Genie+, then you won’t be able to do anything in the park. But that’s simply not true. Genie+ Genie+ has become a little, well, complicated. Now that park hopping has returned all day, Genie+ has a lot going on. You can learn more about it in our guide! One thing that makes Genie+ difficult is that it can change prices daily and vary based on which park you are paying for. There’s the Multiple Parks option, but that’s generally the most expensive one and usually costs over $20. ©Disney Do you actually need Genie+ to do anything in the parks? No. You do not NEED Genie+. Is it helpful? Yes, it can be. But Disney has made it seem like you won’t get on any rides without it and that is not true. You can ride a lot of the rides without buying Genie+. 25. Disney World rides can be things of wonder — but they can also be fickle beasts. Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster It makes sense, after all, considering these attractions see quite a bit of constant, daily use for months and even years on end. So, every once in a while, Disney has to close a ride for refurbishment to give it a little TLC. Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith in Hollywood Studios has been closed with no end in sight — but now we’ve got an update about this project! A new permit was recently filed for the Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster refurbishment in Hollywood Studios! Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster It’s not very specific, only listing “general construction” in the description, but it’s a sign that things are moving along over here. We also noted that the contractor listed on the permit is Adena Corporation. Based on their website, Adena has done work on a number of things, including amusement parks like SeaWorld. They’ve worked on things like rides, waterparks, lazy rivers, and more. We also know they worked on previous Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster refurbishments, along with work on the Jungle Cruise in Magic Kingdom. via ArcGIS The permit is valid through February 6th, 2025 — but hopefully, this closure won’t last that long! Typically, permits are automatically dated one year from the date they were filed. Disney’s website shows the Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster closure will only last through this summer, but we’ll keep an eye out for more updates.
