Pixar Fest has brought tons of exciting eats and experiences to Disneyland Resort this summer. Club Pixar One of these new offerings was Club Pixar, an entertainment offering that was scheduled to run through August 4th. However, the show has closed two months early. According to The Orange County Register, Club Pixar’s show on June 2nd was their final show, much to the surprise of all dancers present, who had not been told previously. The show took place in the Hollywood Land backlot at Disney California Adventure, where previous popular dance parties such as the Mad T Party and ElecTRONica have taken place in the past. CLUB PIXAR Club Pixar was described by Disney as being a dance party with “DJ music, live shows and Pixar-themed games, food and drinks,” leading fans to hope it would be more geared towards adults, such as previous shows were. Club Pixar Stage However, the show ended up being more geared towards kids as a “watch-and-learn” choreography show, or as “watch-and-enjoy” dances to Inside Out and Wall-E music. Many fans feel it was similar to the Disney Junior Dance Party found in Disneyland or the Disney Junior Play and Dance! in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Club Pixar We thought it was a fun dance party, but could see why many guests feel it was more geared towards kids. While adults were more than welcome to join in on the dancing, it was more kiddos having the time of their lives dancing their hearts out. Entrance to Club Pixar Guest feedback and operational considerations were the reasons behind the early closure. While disc jockeys and dancers will no longer be present in Club Pixar, guests will still be able to find Pixar-themed food and drinks, games, movies, and photo opportunities from 4:30-8:30PM in the Hollywood Backlot space. Disney parks are where we’ve spotted some of the most unhinged things that are now living rent-free in our minds, and we don’t know whether we love it or absolutely hate it. On occasion, Disney is known to come up with some weird and outrageous ideas to keep upping the wow factor on their rides, entertainment, and even souvenirs. ©Disney You’d think by now we’d be used to all of the unhinged things Disney comes up with, but they’ve found a way to up their ante once more! One of the most unhinged things we’ve seen Disney dream up in a long time just debuted at Disneyland Paris. This new spin on the classic tale of Alice In Wonderland began on May 25th, 2024. Disneyland Paris teased that you can “fall down the rabbit hole” while watching the new high-energy show named “Alice & the Queen of Hearts: Back to Wonderland.” The show is set to run for a limited time through September 29th, 2024. ©Disney This show features a series of musical performances, aerial acrobatics, and BMX stunts throughout their immersive theatrical adaptation. The show performs at Walt Disney Studios Park and offers “a different twist” on that pivotal, final croquet game scene between Alice and the Queen of Hearts. ©Disney While you’re experiencing the show, you’ll not only be able to witness the exciting face-off between these two classic characters, but you might even find yourself influencing the outcome of the show during the finale! The stage is themed by a “pop art” movement with nods to many of the scenes and places that Alice explores in the original film and storyline. These elements, which are inspired by pop and street art culture, are accentuated by street murals, flashy colors, and industrial elements added to make this the largest stage measuring over 220 feet long! In addition to the over-the-top theming, the stage includes 13 screens framing its center to draw your eye to the middle of the action! ©Disney An original stage isn’t all that’s new for this show, though! New original music helps bring the show to life, featuring five new original songs inspired by the songs in the classic film. The new songs reflect Alice’s cheerful personality by matching her with joyful pop stylings while the Queen of Hearts’ villain persona inspired a classic rock take to her world showcasing her self-confidence! ©Disney Throughout the show, you’ll also see a few other familiar characters like Mad Hatter, the Caterpillar, the March Hare, and the White Rabbit who will also be moving the storyline along through songs accompanied by live musicians. You’ll also want to listen to the unique ways Disney Imagineers thought to bring those industrial sounds to life! This show is packed with some mad talent, too! Viewers will be treated to exhilarating performances including acrobats that make use of seven (yes, SEVEN) trampolines on stage, which include trampoline walls for aerial acrobatics. You’ll want to be mindful of where you sit because some of those trampolines are situated right at the foot of the bleachers, giving you a chance to be as close to the action as possible. You won’t just see acrobats, through. BMX riders will jump through the air, performing tricks across the stage to the music! We can’t help but get Lights, Motors, Action! vibes from what this sounds like). ©Disney As we mentioned before, the audience can play a big role in the outcome of this show. During “Alice & the Queen of Hearts: Back to Wonderland,” there’ll be an opportunity to cheer as loud as possible in support of your favorite team between Alice and the Queen Of Hearts. So there’s a chance that, if you see this show multiple times, you could end up with very different endings. ©Disney Oh, and we haven’t had a chance to talk about the most unhinged part of this show yet — the costumes! The Disneyland Paris costume design teams worked alongside several local workshops to help costume designers bring their visions to reality. Alice’s look was represented by a pop star-inspired design, while the Queen of Hearts was paired with a glamorous outfit matching the bold nature of her classic, rock-inspired music! The team also was tasked with designing, creating, and bringing to life another twenty modern costume designs for other performers in the show like singers, dancers, and musicians, whose aesthetics all had to match the style of the décor on stage. ©Disney Ok, seriously — we’re kind of digging the unhinged nature of this show now! If you want to experience this show for yourself, you’ll need to make plans to see it soon as it’s only in Disneyland Paris for a limited time. We’re always keeping up with all of the latest changes to all of the Disney parks even internationally! Be sure to stay tuned with us at Disney Food Blog for more. Have you ever made a wish? It could have been on a star, from a fairy godmother, a genie, or maybe any other wish-making object or being. Cinderella Castle Disney World is the perfect place to make your wishes and to have them come true. There is the wishing well near Cinderella Castle, which is a great spot to make your wish, but there is also a little shop on Main Street, U.S.A. where you can make any wish your heart desires. Now that shop has new wish-keeping vessels that are magical, adorable, and a bit impractical. Crystal Arts is a shop in Magic Kingdom that sells very beautiful and bougie crystal keepsakes. You can find souvenirs here that cost over $200,000 (a crystal castle) or items that are relatively less expensive, but no less beautiful. The crystal items are absolutely stunning and many are made in the shop. Crystal Arts in Magic Kingdom One of the fun things you can do here is make a wish on some “pixie dust” which are beads up crystals that you can then add for safekeeping into one of the various options made for keeping wishes. This activity is at both the Magic Kingdom and Disney Springs locations of Crystal Arts. Wish Keeper station There is a variety of items to choose from to fill with your new wish including a glass slipper, a Mickey Mouse hand, an apple, a wand, and a rose. Crystal Wish Keepers But now a NEW Wish Keeper is available — water bottles! The Wish Keeper water bottles are $59. They are the same price whether you have them filled with the crystals (wishes) in the bottom or not. Some people are also buying them to fill with something else of their choice. Each water bottle comes with a choice of wood or metal lid and base, but The Mickey and Minnie ones are the only two that come with little loop handles. Wish Keeper Water Bottles There are a variety of character options, and they can even be customized with names and dates! Customizable Now, this new Wish Keeper seems like it would be practical (who wouldn’t want a water bottle to use instead of having a trinket that just sets around). However, a glass water bottle seems a little dangerous, especially when carrying it around the parks. You never know when it could shatter! We worry that it’ll break just thinking about taking it on Big Thunder Mountain Railroad with us. Minnie Mouse So as much as we love them and think they’re adorable, we’re not so sure of their practicality as a water bottle. However, we do love a customizable souvenir, and getting to put our wishes in it makes it so special. If you’re looking for a nice gift or something to commemorate your trip to Disney World the Wish Keeper souvenirs could be great options! For more Disney news, keep following DFB! In case you haven’t heard the news, Moana 2 is on its way! ©Disney Yep, the brand new animation will be in theaters on November 27th, and Disney has prepped us for the new film with the first official trailer. Moana was the most-streamed movie across all platforms in 2023, so it’s safe to say that the film franchise has a large audience with some BIG expectations for this upcoming film! Said audience really showed up and showed out ALREADY when the trailer was released. People reported that the Moana 2 trailer broke the record for the Disney trailer with the MOST views in under 24 hours. Yep, the trailer beat even Inside Out 2 and Frozen 2 with over 178 million views in under 24 hours. ©Disney People reported that those views came from across social media platforms Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, TikTok, X and YouTube. ©Disney In case you’re not familiar with the story of Moana and how she came to be such a superheroine allow us to recap for a moment. Moana is the daughter of the village chief (try not to sing past that line, y’all) on the island of Montonui. She finds herself mysteriously drawn to the sea over and over again as she grows and with a little help from her Grandmother (who at the time is the only one who encourages her connection with the sea), sets out on a quest to save her people who are experiencing a rapid decay of their beautiful lands and destroying their resources. She meets Maui the demi-God along the way and with his cunning wit and charm (although he does tend to get in the way a bit) is able to overcome multiple challenges to restore the heart of Te Fiti and renew her village’s island. ©Disney The trailer implies that the sequel will take us along with Moana, Pua, Hei Hei, and Maui as they voyage across the seas connect with the rest of their people — as her ancestors have instructed. ©Disney We can only imagine what sort of chaos and mischief the four will come across, and we can’t wait to see it in theaters on November 27th. We’ll be sure to keep you updated with more Disney news and advice, so make sure to follow along so that you’re always in the loop and never miss a thing. Looking for more on Moana 2? Click here! The red flags are flying! Magic Kingdom It’s a given that not everyone is a “Disney adult” as it were, and even many who enjoy the company’s theme parks might have some wild misconceptions about them. However, some red flags are way more striking than others. We recently posed the POV question “You’re talking to your best friend and they say _____ about Disney World, and it’s a HUGE red flag. What did they say?” and got some doozies in response. Reader Margaret answered with: “Disney is only for families with little kids.” This was actually the most common response we got, as MANY of our readers would consider it a Disney red flag for someone to respond that Disney World is only for families and/or children. Which makes sense, considering that there is PLENTY for childless adults to do at the Most Magical Place on Earth. Barnstormer Meanwhile, reader Amber considers it a red flag if her friends don’t use her Disney expertise. “When the(y) tell me they went AFTER THE FACT… and complain they didn’t have any fun. Well, duh! You didn’t come to me for advice and planning strategies.” Speaking of planning, several readers pointed out that any iteration of “I don’t need to plan, I’ll just wing it” is a major red flag in and itself given the need to make dining reservations, book Genie+, and etc. Lightning Lane Reader Susan pointed out that someone saying “Surprise! We’re going for 2 weeks! We leave September 10th!!” is a major red flag. Specifically, it’s the red and black weather warning flag, as that’s right in the midst of Atlantic Hurricane Season, the chances of bad weather are — at best — quite high. Magic Kingdom during Hurricane Idalia 2023 A few readers shared some ride and park-specific red flags with us, including reader Crystalayn who took umbrage with anyone saying “They should get rid of it. It’s outdated” in regard to the Enchanted Tiki Room. Meanwhile, reader Heather points out the admittedly major red flag of someone saying “The second version of Journey Into Imagination is the best version.” Meanwhile, several other readers brought up the red flag of Disney World visitors asking “Where is Harry Potter?” Wizarding World of Harry Potter… is NOT at Walt Disney World One of our go-to Disney debates also came up, as some said that starting World Showcase in Mexico was a red flag, while seemingly an equal number of riders said the same about starting on Canada. Canada Pavilion Finally reader Kaitlyn leaves us with a final, major 3,000 miles off red flag: “We leave for Orlando this week and just bought our Disneyland tickets!” Disneyland Park is not Walt Disney World Some of these Disney red flags are more option-based, while others are facepalm-worthy just because of how easily someone could learn the truth by a simple Google search. Stay tuned to DFB for more thoughts on Walt Disney World. Tiana’s Bayou Adventure seems like it’s off to a ROUGH start! Tiana’s Bayou Adventure previews continue We’ve been waiting for Disney World’s newest ride to open for over a year, and now that we’ve finally reached the home stretch to its official opening day, we couldn’t be more disheartened. Ever since the planned previews for the ride started, Disney World’s newest attraction has had a hard time staying open throughout the day. And, it doesn’t seem like it’s starting to get any better! If you’re eagerly awaiting your turn to finally experience Tiana’s Bayou Adventure in Magic Kingdom and experience your first plunge down the mountain (and into their swingin’ Mardi Gras celebration), you might find yourself waiting extra long. Lines for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure previews Ever since the ride’s testing turned into Cast Member previews with consistent flows of people drifting down the bayou in log ride vehicles, the attraction seems plagued with technical difficulties. The first day of Cast Member previews proved disastrous when the ride had to be evacuated mid-morning, resulting in hoards of disappointed Cast Members and their friends. As the previews continue to keep going, it seems the second day isn’t off to much of a better start. Crowds Day 2 has proven to be an almost mirror experience of the past couple of days of previews with the ride experiencing enough difficulties to shut it down completely for hours. This delay has left crowds scrambling to find open space around the bridge and the queue entrance of the ride and waiting around for hours just on the chance that the ride might reopen for them to experience it, too. Check-in crowds as the ride was delayed We literally witnessed the line gathered to check in for the event triple when it started in front of the drop, looped back towards the direction of the courtyard in front of Critter Co-Op and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, and then switched back to the drop by the bridge and Co-Op once more! The ride closing made the crowds back up During the time the ride was down, everything appeared to be turned off, including the running water! However, it seems this first closure was shorter-lived, as within around 2 hours we were back to hearing screams down the mountainside once again (sans running water on the drop). No running water After another 45 minutes from then, the Cast Members in charge of the ride’s preview seemed to be reorganizing the crowds, and the ride was not running once again. It wasn’t too long after that we heard Cast Members operating the ride announcing an evacuation would be taking place to safely remove any remaining riders within the attraction. Ride evacuation We realize this may look problematic for the ride however, we want to reiterate that these previews are when technical issues and bugs are worked out. Cast Members are also trained on evacuations, so this may also be part of that training. We’ll continue to keep you updated on how it’s running before, during, and after its official opening so you can plan your days at Disney World accordingly. We’re Disney Food Blog, of course, we know when new treats and snacks show up in the Disney World parks. EPCOT’s France Pavilion Disney is well known for their food; it’s practically become another attraction! They update menus and add new items and restaurants all the time. We’re ready to try it all when we find out something is new. That’s why we recently headed over to EPCOT to the France pavilion because we found out that new desserts were added to the menu at Crêpes A Emporter! Crêpes A Emporter is a hidden gem of a restaurant in the France pavilion. It’s relatively new as it was brought to the park around the time that Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure opened. As you might imagine, the restaurant is known for its delicious crepes. They have sweet and savory varieties offered at the quick-service counter or in the table-service dining area, La Creperie de Paris. Crepes A Emporter As much as we love the crepes here, we were so excited to see the new offering. Now you can order milkshakes with your crepe! The restaurant is offering three different milkshakes or ice cream in a waffle cone — chocolate, strawberry, or vanilla. So we stopped by and picked up a chocolate shake for ourselves. Chocolate Milkshake The milkshakes cost $7.95, and you get a good-sized drink. It’s served with a large pile of whipped cream on top. It was very thick with a nice, rich chocolate flavor. But don’t worry, it wasn’t so thick that we couldn’t get it up our straw. We didn’t have to turn our faces red trying to sip it up! Lots of whipped cream! The chocolate shake would be great for chocolate lovers! It was a much more sophisticated chocolate than we were expecting. It is super smooth and very delicious. We also liked that it wasn’t too sugary, just chocolatey. An overall tasty chocolate milkshake that we would go back for. YUM! If you’re looking for some great snacks, the France pavilion in EPCOT has got you covered. Between Crêpes A Emporter and Les Halles Boulangerie Patisserie, you’re bound to find something delicious and quick. And if you’re not in the mood for French pastries, sandwiches, crepes, and more, then there are TONS of other great snacks all over EPCOT. The World Showcase is full of delectable foods along with the many other areas of the park. You can’t go wrong eating in EPCOT. If it seems like Disney World is plagued with constant construction, then you’re not making it up. We’ve seen tons of construction ongoing around EPCOT, Disney World hotel expansions, bathrooms, and tons of Disney World hotel pools have been closed off and on for most of this year. Ongoing construction While we’ve seen tons of menu changes happening all over Disney World, too, that doesn’t necessarily mean there’s no room to be made for new restaurants. This seems to be especially true at Disney Springs. When we’re not visiting Disney World’s various theme and water parks, chances are you’ll find us hanging out in Disney Springs. The shopping and dining district is a hotspot of activity for those who are looking for a little bit of the Disney touches to their regular day without needing a park ticket. Disney Springs Most recently, Disney Springs has been a big topic of conversation due to their new nighttime entertainment that will only last for a limited time. Disney Dreams That Soar truly is a spectacular way to end your evening at Disney Springs, but if you’ve found yourself strolling the expansive area that Disney Springs truly takes up, you might notice MORE construction happening here than ever before! Disney Dreams That Soar No, we’re not talking about the outdoor seating area expansion for Chicken Guy! right now, but if you follow Disney Springs towards its backside, you’ll eventually find construction walls up around a few of our favorite restaurants. While passing by Raglan Road, we noticed a spot just adjacent under major construction. Chicken Guy Construction At first glance, we were concerned that these new walls meant that one of the area bars, The Hole In The Wall, was under construction (or worse, leaving Disney Springs), however, that didn’t seem to be the case. The Hole In The Wall For now, it seems The Hole In The Wall is safe, however, it might be seeing neighboring competition! It turns out the construction walls did give us some clue after all! They’re covered with artist renderings showing plans for a small outdoor bar seating where we’re invited to a saved seat. Construction From the looks of it, it seems that Paddy’s Bar is the name of the new space, and it will also be inspired by Irish pub influences! When we spoke to a Cast Member nearby at Raglan Road, we were told that Paddy’s Bar will be replacing the beer cart they usually have out in front of the restaurant. The idea here is they’re aiming to turn it into a sit-down spot! However, they weren’t certain of when we could expect to see this new addition open and hoped it was soon. Paddy’s Bar While we still have lots to learn about this new space such as its theming and how it will fit in between neighboring Raglan Road Restaurant AND The Hole In The Wall, let alone its menu, it seems we still have ample time to learn more about it. Don’t fret though, because you know we’ll be scoping it out as soon as Paddy’s Bar is ready to make more announcements about their move into Disney Springs. We’re always keeping you updated on the latest changes, switcheroos, and construction happening around Disney World! Be sure to stay tuned with us for more! Target Just Released NEW Disney LEGO Sets Online
Disney4me posted a topic in Disney Food/Restaurants
Target has just about everything we need including some of our favorite LEGO sets! Target Building LEGO sets is a great hobby, and we enjoy completing them even more when they’re Disney-themed! LEGO toys are great for people of all ages. There are sets for toddlers all the way up to adults. You don’t have to be an engineer to put these puzzles together (though that would probably be a useful skill set to have). If you enjoy putting together LEGO sets, then you gotta see these new ones we found at Target! DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission. We spotted a few new LEGO sets on Target’s website that we think lovers of classic Disney will love! Snow White and Sleeping Beauty are represented in these builds, along with Mirabel from Encanto! Get Snow White’s Jewelry Box ©Disney Not only do you get to build a beautiful jewelry box, but you also get a pretty bracelet to go with it! This build is meant for kids ages 6 and up, but we think many adults would enjoy creating it and displaying it amongst their Disney and Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs memorabilia. Get It Here! Take Home the Magical Madrigal House ©Disney House Madrigal is magical and you can bring a bit of that magic right to your home! It’s a colorful build that also comes with the whole family. Sing along with the catchy songs while putting this together. Get It Here! Build Maleficent’s Dragon and Sleeping Beauty’s Castle ©Disney The classic Sleeping Beauty Castle is under the vines as Maleficent attacks! Get It Here! Build the Seven Dwarf’s Cottage ©Disney We can’t get over how cute this cottage is! It’s a replica of the cottage where Snow White and the Dwarfs live, but watch out for the Evil Queen in her disguise. This would be fun to build and display! Get It Here! It’s time to talk NEW Magic Kingdom attractions! TRON Lightcycle / Run Nope, this time we’re not talking about Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. While the brand new attraction opens very soon on June 28th and has been in the news nearly everyday recently, we still need to talk about a Magic Kingdom attraction that opened over a year ago. Yep, we’re here to talk about TRON Lightcycle / Run! TRON is Disney World’s newest attraction other than Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, but we’ve been on it enough to know a thing or two about a thing or two at this point. Today, we’re here to talk about RULES that the TRON Cast Members are BEGGING you not to break. Of course, these aren’t hard and fast rules that you absolutely must follow, but abiding by these will ensure that everyone’s experience will go as smoothly as possible. Let’s go! Remember your locker number…and your things! Before boarding the ride, you’ll need to put all large items in a locker that you will access from the other side as you’re exiting the ride. You’ll find any locker that still has its number lit up — indicating that it is still available. Unlock the locker using your physical ticket card or your MagicBand. Unfortunately, these lockers aren’t compatible with MagicMobile — so you won’t be able to use your phone or smart watch. Lockers at TRON: Lightcycle / Run The important thing here is to remember the number of the locker in which you’ve put your things! Otherwise, you’ll have to scan your MagicBand or ticket at the Locker Locator, which will tell you which locker your things are in. This area can get crowded and prevent people from efficiently exiting at times. Lockers at TRON OH, and remember to grab your things when you leave. You don’t want to have to visit City Hall for the Lost and Found at the end of the night, do ya? Listen to the Boarding Instructions If you’ve been on your fair share of Disney World rides, then you likely already know that the rides share boarding instructions either on a screen or on signs before you board the ride. While a lot of the time, it’s easy to totally ignore these (Because how else would you board a roller coaster with a regular lap bar?), it’s important to pay attention at TRON because the process is a bit different. TRON Boarding One rider will need to cross over the track and board from the other side. A lot of first-time riders miss the memo because they didn’t watch the pre-show screens! Oh, and securing the restraints can be tricky, too. You simply pull the handlebars toward your chest to make the back restraint come down, but folks tend to miss that, too! TRON queue Of course, things happen that prevent us from paying attention, but it can take a while to actually ride the ride when the Cast Members are all trying to help everyone board properly. And there you have it! Following these two rules can ensure that the process is as efficient as possible and can actually help make sure everyone gets on the ride even faster! We’re always here to provide you with all the best tips and tricks to make sure your Disney World vacation is awesome, so make sure to follow along for more so that you never miss a thing. Is there any better feeling than saving money on your Disney vacation? Disney’s BoardWalk Inn You watch as that price drops when you apply a discount, and it feels GLORIOUS. However, there’s a problem here that we need you to know about — discounts on hotel stays are fantastic and all fun and games, until you realize the discount isn’t what it said it would be. You’ve already taken the first step: you’re on the Disney Special Offers, Deals, and Discounts page to try to save money — whoo hoo! Have you been looking for a tropical island-like vacation within Disney World? Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort Well, we have some great news for you! Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort has been under construction for quite some time, and this new hotel tower will soon be complete! Later this year, the Island Tower at Disney’s Polynesian Villas and Bungalows will open, and Disney just gave us a sneak peek at the rooms! This new tower is expected to open on December 17th of this year! Part of the Disney Vacation Club, this 10-story tower will feature rooms of different sizes to accommodate different-sized parties. Of course, like its predecessor, The Polynesian Village Resort, these rooms will take inspiration from the Polynesian Islands and even feature custom artwork from Moana! ©Disney These rooms were also designed with sustainability in mind! The rugs and carpets inside the rooms are made from primarily recycled bottles! Disney Vacation Club tries to make its properties feel like home and offer all the amenities you would need to feel like you are there. Construction on the Island Tower Now let’s look into the rooms that will be offered! ©Disney Similar to Disney’s Riveria Resort, the Island Tower will feature rooms made for two in their duo studios! ©Disney Families of four were also considered, and four people can comfortably sleep in a deluxe studio. Typically, Disney Vacation Club studio rooms offer a small kitchenette that usually includes a sink, mini fridge, toaster, and microwave. Well, at the Island Tower, deluxe studios will consist of a dishwasher! This makes it even easier to enjoy your vacation, as you do not have to worry about doing dishes in a small sink. This feature will also help with sustainability as it reduces the waste of single-use plastics like plastic utensils. ©Disney If you need more space, the Island Tower will also have one and two-bedroom villas available! Like other Disney Vacation Club resorts, these rooms will feature a full kitchen, outdoor patio, and even your own washer and dryer. ©Disney If you are looking to stay in style, you can stay in the Island Tower’s Two-Bedroom Penthouse Villas. These Penthouses will offer picturesque views of Seven Seas Lagoon as well as the Magic Kingdom, making it perfect to watch Magic Kingdom’s nighttime entertainment right from your room! ©Disney Interested in booking a stay here? Starting today, June 4th, Disney Vacation Club Members can make rental reservations by calling Member Services. It is stated that Members will be able to make point-based reservations at a later date. On June 5th, tomorrow, Annual Passholders can call (407) 934-7639 to make a reservation. Using the same number, on June 6th, all guests are welcome to call to book a reservation to stay at the Island Tower. ©Disney This addition to the Polynesian Villas and Bungalows looks beautiful, and we can’t wait to see it finished so we can check it out ourselves! A day in Disney World can feel like running a marathon. Magic Kingdom You can quite literally walk 10, 15, or even more miles a day while you’re roaming around the parks. Even if you pause for breaks regularly, you’re whole body can begin to ache. If you’re doing two or more days of a Disney World trip, you’ll likely be ready for a week of sleep and a massage by the end of it. It’s important to wear good shoes, drink plenty of water, and eat plenty to help your body recover from all the exercise you’re bound to be getting on your “vacation.” But did you know that Disney offers a FREE amenity at many of its hotels at Disney World that can help your aching muscles feel better? Disney World has three types of hotel options — Value Resorts, Moderate Resorts, and Deluxe Resorts. Each type of hotel offers several amenities including pools, dining locations, attractions of their own, and more. A few hotels also offer fitness rooms and spas, but that is only a select few. However, all the Disney Moderate and Deluxe hotels, the Swan, Dolphin, Swan Reserve, and Shades of Green hotels offer hot tubs! Saratoga Springs Hot Tub Many of you might be thinking the same thing as our reader Loren, “Nothing about a hot tub in the Florida heat sounds like a good idea. ” But trust us, these amenities can be GREAT for your recovery from the long days in the parks. If you’ve ever played sports, injured yourself, or hurt your muscles in any way, you may have used heat in the form of heating pads to aid in your recovery. Heat therapy is a common treatment used by many people when they have sore, aching muscles. Hot tub at Wilderness Lodge According to the New York Times, heat can help ease pain and speed up recovery. Heat can help your body take natural steps to healing and rebuilding muscles. So after a long day of speed walking many miles in the parks, submerging yourself into a relaxing hot tub can not only help you release stress but also help your muscles feel better before heading back to the parks the next day! Beau Soleil Hot Tub at the Riviera Resort Turns out that a lot of you, our readers, were already hopping into your Disney World hotel hot tubs! A few of you even seemed to be aware of the benefits this can do for your body by feeling the effects yourselves. Lydia shared that she goes in “As much as [she] can! At the end of a long day walking and standing in the parks, a dip in the hot tub (or even in just the pool) helps my joints and muscles relax (back and legs in particular) and feel better the next day for sure!” We totally agree! Hot Tub at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort A few readers mentioned that they avoid the hot tub in the summer months but will venture into them in the fall, winter, and spring. Others, like Mary, say that they prefer the pool as a way “to cool off and relax.” The pools can be a great way to loosen up those tight muscles as well, they just might not give you the healing aspect of a hot tub. Grand Floridian pool Regardless of your preferences, we might all need to learn from our reader Thomas who shared that he jumps in the hot tub “to make the regular pool colder.” That’s the kind of positivity and pro tip we needed today! If you plan on staying at a Moderate or Deluxe hotel on your next Disney World trip, consider taking a dip in the hot tub to help your sore, aching muscles, we all know they need it! Remain calm, but a treat we have been waiting for since the Mickey Mouse Ice Cream Sandwich Disney Eats collection debuted has finally arrived! This Disney Eats collection debuted in May and featured a Mickey Mouse Ice Cream Sandwich that couldn’t even be found in the parks. Main Street, USA However, Disney World has come to the rescue (kind of) and released a Mickey Mint Chocolate Chip Cookie Sandwich that looks strikingly similar to the treat featured in the Disney Eats collection. The treat is a mouthful of words, and we are slightly confused as it is NOT an ice cream sandwich. But when we saw that we could get our hands on a similar treat, we had to try it! DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission. You can grab the Mickey Mint Chocolate Chip Cookie Sandwich in the Main Street Confectionary for $7.79. It is two chocolate cookies sandwiched with mint chocolate chip flavored buttercream frosting. We thought the chocolate cookies tasted similar to the round brownies you can buy in the grocery store. It crumbles in your mouth and is a bit on the dry side, but it does have a good chocolate flavor to it. The Mickey Mint Chocolate Chip Cookie Sandwich has arrived! The frosting inside is a whipped frosting and it is VERY minty. There is definitely no lack of sugar in this dessert, and the main flavor we tasted in the frosting was mint. While there were a few chocolate chips in the frosting, the mint flavor definitely overpowered them. The chocolate chips are small, and while they give a nice chew to the treat, there is only a little burst of chocolate from them. Complete with a very green frosting center If you are a fan of mint chocolate, this would definitely be a good dessert option for you. The mint flavor is very prominent without tasting like toothpaste, and you do get a decent amount of chocolate flavor from the cookies. We wish the cookies were a bit sturdier and didn’t crumble quite as much though. We wouldn’t say this is our top pick for treats you could get from the Main Street Confectionary, but it is definitely more unique than a basic cookie or cupcake. Now we can wear the collection and eat one too! And now, you can officially eat the treat while wearing the Disney Eats Mickey Mouse Ice Cream Sandwich Disney Eats collection. This collection dropped back in May and had many of us scratching our heads over the non-existent treat that was being featured. The collection is supposed to be of a Mickey Mouse Ice Cream Sandwich that contains green ice cream with chocolate chips. While we still don’t have the exact ice cream sandwich that was featured, we at least have a treat that is reminiscent of it! Get the Mickey Mouse Ice Cream Sandwich Loungefly Mini-Backpack here! ©Disney You can pick up the Mickey Mouse Ice Cream Sandwich Loungefly Mini Backpack to wear while you try the new treat at the Main Street Confectionary. Get the Loungefly bag here! Get the Mickey Mouse Ice Cream Sandwich Ear Headbands here! ©Disney You can also grab the Mickey Mouse Ice Cream Sandwich Ear Headband that even features an ice cream sandwich with a bite taken out of it. When you’re planning your Disney World trip, it all seems to be sunshine and rainbows, right? Disney World But what if you — perish the thought! — need to cancel your trip? Y’all we love talking about al the GREAT things about vacation, but sometimes…well, we’ve gotta look at what can go wrong. And there is a VERY important thing you need to know about your Disney World tickets! So, let’s take a look. This may not SEEM like a big deal to you IF you’re in the Disney World planning honeymoon phase and don’t plan on backing out of your trip for NOTHIN’, buuuuuuut… things happen. LIFE happens. There are storms, there are sicknesses, there are a dozen things that could force you into a corner where you need to back out of your Disney World vacation. Storm clouds in EPCOT And while, for the most part, Disney reservations for things like hotels and restaurants can be canceled no problem-o (if you cancel soon enough, that is — you’ll just have to check Disney cancellation policies on their website), Disney World park tickets are pretty unforgiving. Disney World tickets are nontransferable and nonrefundable, so you cannot cancel a ticket or get your money back for it. And that… can really feel like salt on an open wound when you’re already bummed about postponing your trip in the first place. Disney World Theme Park Ticket Cards With that being said, Disney does warn that “while you cannot cancel or get a refund for tickets or packages, you may be able to change the date of your unused tickets.” You can often use unexpired tickets in the future just as long as the first date has not already been used. But you’ll need to change the date of an unused standard theme park ticket via the Disney World website. You can change the dates for your unused park tickets — but you won’t be able to get a refund. If you’re picking a different date to use your park tickets in the future — and said future date happens to be during a more expensive time of year — don’t sweat it! You’ll just have to pay the price difference between your original ticket date versus this new ticket date instead of paying for all-new park tickets. Tickets, please! So, in short, you can’t go back on a Disney ticket purchase once the purchase has been made, but Disney will work to accommodate you if you need to push back your Disney vacation to a later time. We have also had success in converting our tickets to other types — for example, applying a completely unused 4-day ticket to the purchase of an annual pass. We have found this type of transaction best done in person, and because there are no specific policies regarding this on Disney World’s website — please understand that your mileage may vary!
