  2. We always make sure to give you in-depth reviews of all the new snacks and drinks around Disney World. Main Street Bakery in Magic Kingdom But today, we are bringing you a review of a new Starbucks drink that has officially dropped for the summer to see if you need to try it or if you can stick to your regular order! We recently stopped by the Main Street Bakery, the Starbucks location in Magic Kingdom, to try the new Blue Coconut Refresher for $6.45. This is made with toasted coconut, strawberry, açai, lemonade, blue spirulina, and ice. Blue Coconut Refresher Unfortunately, this drink was not our favorite. If you love coconut, this will be disappointing for you, since the coconut flavor did not come through at all. As a whole, it tasted very similar to a classic Refresher. However, the blue spirulina created an odd texture. Blue Coconut Refresher We did enjoy the fun color and look of this drink; however, the strange texture, mixed with the flavor not being amazing, made this a skip for us. If you want to try something unique, you’ll definitely get that with this drink, but we would suggest sticking to your classic drink order instead. This was not our favorite We always make sure to let you know whenever anything new drops at Disney World, so stay tuned with Disney Food Blog so you never miss anything! 3. Disney World’s refillable mugs are one of the best values at the hotels, but they come with a couple of surprisingly frustrating problems. Disney World Resort Refillable Mug If you’ve ever stayed at a Disney World resort, you know exactly what we’re talking about. Those mugs are great when you’re grabbing coffee before rope drop or filling up with a cold drink after a long park day, but carrying them around the resort can quickly become a hassle. Add kids, strollers, backpacks, and everything else you’re already juggling, and suddenly that convenient mug feels like one more thing to manage. Thankfully, we’ve found two simple items that help solve some of the biggest refillable mug headaches. DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission. Your Hands Are Already Full Enough ©Amazon One of the most common refillable mug problems is surprisingly simple: somebody has to carry it. Parents know how this story goes. Everyone wants a refillable mug, everyone uses a refillable mug, and somehow one adult ends up carrying three or four of them while walking around the resort. Since Disney’s refillable mugs have handles, they don’t always fit securely in backpack side pockets either, making them awkward to stash when you don’t need them. That’s where the Dining Plan Refillable Mug Holder comes in. ©Amazon This lightweight sling is specifically designed to work with Disney’s refillable resort mugs and features an adjustable strap that works for both kids and adults. Instead of carrying your mug everywhere, you can wear it comfortably over your shoulder and keep your hands free for luggage, snacks, souvenirs, or little ones. One feature we especially appreciate is that the design still allows you to use Disney’s refill stations without removing the mug from the holder. That means less fumbling around every time you’re ready for a refill. It’s a small accessory, but it solves a surprisingly annoying vacation problem. Take a look at it before your next Disney resort stay. view ON AMAZON This Stroller Hack Is Actually Brilliant ©Amazon If you’re traveling with a stroller, you already know storage space becomes premium real estate. Water bottles, snacks, sunscreen, ponchos, souvenirs, and everything else seem to pile up throughout the day. One issue many families run into is figuring out where to keep refillable mugs when they’re not actively using them. Cup holders fill up quickly, and tossing mugs into the stroller basket can lead to spills, clutter, and a frustrating game of digging around whenever someone wants a drink. The Shoe Organizer 2-Pack offers a surprisingly clever solution. ©Amazon While it’s designed as a hanging shoe organizer for home, travel, RVs, and small spaces, many Disney visitors have found that it can double as a convenient stroller attachment. The roomy pockets are large enough to hold refillable mugs, water bottles, and other park essentials, giving you easy access while keeping everything organized. Because the pockets are made with clear mesh, it’s easy to see exactly where everything is. Instead of hunting through bags or stroller baskets, you can quickly grab what you need and keep moving. The sturdy construction also means it can handle heavier items without sagging or losing shape. For families trying to maximize stroller storage, this is one of those creative solutions that makes you wonder why you didn’t think of it sooner. You might want to grab one for your next Disney vacation. view ON AMAZON Disney World vacations involve a lot of walking, planning, and carrying things around. While refillable mugs are absolutely worth having during a resort stay, they can become surprisingly inconvenient if you don’t have a good system for managing them. The Dining Plan Refillable Mug Holder helps solve the problem of constantly carrying mugs around the resort, while the Shoe Organizer 2-Pack provides an unexpected way to organize mugs and drinks on a stroller. Neither item is complicated, but both can make your vacation feel a little easier. We’re always on the hunt for the latest and greatest Disney souvenirs and essentials, so don’t forget to stay tuned to the Disney Food Blog for more! View the full article
  4. When we’re at Magic Kingdom, there’s nothing we love more than grabbing a sweet treat. With so many iconic dessert options like DOLE Whip, ice cream, and candy-infused popcorn, it’s super easy for amazing desserts to become a hidden gem! This sweet treat is out of this world! This brand-new brownie is the perfect example of that. It’s only available at Cosmic Ray’s, which doesn’t typically offer desserts in the first place. We had to see if this sweet treat was worth the hype, and spoiler alert – it’s out of this world! The Peanut Butter and Jelly Brownie is $5.99 at Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe. It’s served with a White Chocolate Rocket Ship on top. Peanut Butter Jelly Brownie The brownie in this was very cake-like in texture, but it was super chocolatey. On top is a dome-shaped peanut butter mousse that’s smooth, creamy, and packed with peanut butter flavor. There wasn’t too much jelly flavor in the mousse, and we could only taste it faintly in one or two small bites. Peanut Butter Jelly Brownie If you’re a chocolate peanut butter lover, then this is the sweet treat for you! However, we barely tasted the jelly, so if you’re looking for a fresh take on a PB&J sandwich, this isn’t it. It’s also super cute and Instagrammable if you want your dessert to be worthy of a photo session! Peanut Butter Jelly Brownie Even though it wasn’t what we were expecting, we had so much fun trying this new Peanut Butter and Jelly Brownie. 5. BIG news out of Disney Springs! The walls are down at Level99! We’ve been counting down the days until Level99 opens in the shopping and dining district on June 29th, with tickets going on sale June 22nd, but honestly, we’d be lying if we said we hadn’t been a little concerned seeing the walls still up. That all just changed, though, because the walls are DOWN! When we walked into Disney Springs this morning, we noticed that the former NBA Experience building looked VERY different, because no longer are the walls up hiding the work that’s been done. Now, we can see the Level99 logos everywhere on the building, including on the side, so you’ll see it no matter what direction you’re walking from. It’s almost time! We can also get a better look at the screen out front, which advertises the new addition and some of the exciting challenges you’ll be able to check out inside. Check out that screen! When tickets go on sale tomorrow, they’ll start at $29.99 per player for intervals of 1.5 to 2.5 hours of play. A premium pass add-on will also be available, which will include expedited check-in and special gifts. The hours of this new addition each week will be: Monday – Thursday: 11 AM to 10 PM Friday: 11 AM to 11 PM Saturday: 10 AM to 11 PM Sunday: 10 AM to 10 PM Level99 Level99 is an interactive, social entertainment experience and features physical and mental challenges set in artistic environments for teens and adults. At the Disney Springs location, there will be 63 challenges to complete, and you’ll be able to save your progress, so even if it’s months or years after your first visit, you’ll be able to continue where you left off. 6. One of my favorite parts of staying at a Disney World hotel is experiencing the incredible pool! Fuentes del Morro Pool Disney World is known for its large and well-themed hotel pools with water slides, splash pads, and more! But before you just pack your bathing suit, you’ll want to know these 5 unspoken dress code rules that Disney guests are following on vacation. DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission. 1. You NEED to Wear Shoes When heading to the Disney World pools, the concrete and walking paths can get HOT! You’ll take about 10 steps outside before you regret that you went barefoot. I know it might seem like you don’t need shoes at the pool, but you absolutely should wear them to save yourself some serious pain. ©Amazon These Crocs Women’s Kadee II Flip Flops are a great option. These have a nice textured grip in the footbed that provides comfort and prevents slipping while walking. For this sandal, if you’re a half size, Crocs recommend ordering the next full size up. View on Amazon ©Amazon The Teva Women’s Original Universal Sandal has a water-ready polyester webbing upper that is extremely durable and dries quickly after getting wet. They come with an easy hook-and-loop closure that comes on and off quickly and gets the fit just right. view ON AMAZON ©Amazon The kids need shoes too! The closed-toe design with rubber sole offers quick-dry comfort after every splash. view ON AMAZON 2. Rashguards for Kids are Essential It gets very hot in Florida, and one way to protect your kids is by using a rashguard! While you might not need it in the pool itself, you might want to go inside the hotel store or quick-service restaurant while you’re by the pool. Shirts and shoes are required for guests going inside of a Disney World hotel, so be sure to pack them in your pool bag. ©Amazon We love this Mickey’s Surf Club T-Shirt. This shirt gives pool day vibes, so you’ll fit right in at your Disney hotel pool. 7. Look, we say this with love because we are also very much in the splash zone here. Disney Adults get blamed for a lot. Some of it is unfair. Some of it is lazy internet complaining. Some of it is just people discovering that adults can like DOLE Whip, puppets, monorails, and $78 cardigans without needing a permission slip from society. Monorail But also? Sometimes we do need to sit quietly with our novelty popcorn buckets and think about what we’ve done. Disney Adults are excellent at finding the best snacks, the quietest corners, the coziest lounges, and the tiny little park details that make a Disney trip feel special. Unfortunately, once enough people discover those things, they stop being quiet little treats and start becoming full-blown operations with lines, alarms, spreadsheets, and at least one person on TikTok yelling “RUN, DON’T WALK.” So, from viral snacks to lounge chaos, here are a few things Disney Adults may have accidentally “ruined” when they became too popular. Disney Change Discourse Disney Adults did not invent complaining about theme park changes, but we did turn it into an Olympic sport with judges, costumes, and a tragic string section. Any time Disney announces a closure, refurbishment, replacement, retheme, repaint, relocation, rumor, permit, patent, whisper, or shrubbery adjustment, the internet immediately becomes a courtroom. One person is mourning. One person is furious. One person has already decided the new thing is terrible even though it is currently three pieces of concept art and a construction wall. And yes, we get it. Disney nostalgia is powerful. People build real memories around rides, restaurants, shows, and even weird carpet patterns. We are not immune. We are still lighting a tiny candle for Muppet*Vision 3D in our hearts, and frankly, Sam Eagle deserves a federal holiday. But Disney Parks have always changed. That does not mean every change is good. It does mean we should probably wait until something actually opens before declaring it the downfall of civilization. Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets The tip here is simple: grieve what you loved, but leave room for curiosity. Take your farewell photos. Watch your last show. Buy the commemorative shirt if you must. Then breathe. The new thing may surprise you. And if it doesn’t? Great news, complaining will still be free. “You’ll Always Be a Part of Me, Muppet*Vision 3D.” A Disney CELEBRITY Just Surprised Us With a NEW Gift to Muppets Fans Limited-Edition Merch Drops There was a time when buying Disney merch meant strolling into a gift shop, seeing a cute mug, saying “absolutely not” to the price, then buying it anyway. Now, certain merchandise drops feel like a race against the rest of humanity and ignoring the stabbing pain coming from our wallets. Popcorn buckets. Loungefly bags. Spirit Jerseys. Anniversary pins. Limited-edition ears. Seasonal Crocs. Anything involving Orange Bird. Anything involving Figment. Anything involving the Muppets, which we support fully, but also everybody please form an orderly line and stop using your elbows like tiny frontier weapons. Disney Adults did not ruin Disney merch by liking it. Liking a fun souvenir is the whole point. The problem starts when popular items become an “investment opportunity” instead of a vacation memory. When people buy multiples just to resell them, it makes the whole thing worse. Lines get longer. Shelves empty faster. Regular guests miss out. Kids miss out. Collectors who actually want one item for themselves miss out. Suddenly, a popcorn bucket shaped like a fictional creature has created a retail dust storm. 2023 Figment Our advice? Buy what you love, not what you think will pay your gas bill. Check the Disney Store online before assuming you need to spend park time hunting. Ask Cast Members about restocks, but do not interrogate them like they are hiding the Ark of the Covenant behind the register. And if something sells out, remember that your vacation can still recover. You may not have the bucket, but you do still have fries, fireworks, and the ability to leave World of Disney with your dignity mostly intact. If You Thought the Disney Figment Popcorn Bucket Saga Was Over, Think Again! Lounges We are going to say something brave: Disney lounges are too good. They used to feel like tiny little adult field trips tucked inside the chaos. You could grab a drink, share an appetizer, sit in air conditioning, and pretend for 40 minutes that you were not wearing sunscreen in places sunscreen should never have to go. Then everybody found out. Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto became a quest. Oga’s Cantina became a rite of passage. Nomad Lounge became the Animal Kingdom refuge of choice for people who enjoy good food, beautiful drinks, and chairs that feel like forgiveness. Now Magic Kingdom has The Beak and Barrel, and suddenly “just grabbing a drink” can involve advance reservations, time limits, standing room, and a pirate parrot with better job security than most of us. Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto Again, this is not really anyone’s fault. Lounges are popular because they are good. Disney Adults like atmosphere, themed drinks, small plates, and places where we can recover from three miles of stroller dodging. That is not a crime. It is a survival strategy. But the secret is gone. So adjust accordingly. The Hollywood Brown Derby Lounge If there is a lounge you really want, treat it like a real plan, not a whimsical little bonus. Look for reservations as early as you can. Check again closer to your trip because cancellations happen. Use the walk-up list in My Disney Experience when available. Try odd hours instead of prime evening drinking time. And have backups. No Nomad Lounge? Go to Dawa Bar, grab Mr. Kamal’s fries, or wander over to a resort lounge later. No Trader Sam’s? Tambu Lounge is right there being quietly useful. No Oga’s? Baseline Tap House is not trying to be a space cantina, and honestly, that confidence is attractive. The Best Thing I Ate All Week in Disney World Was At Hollywood Brown Derby Lounge. Opening Days and Final Days Disney Adults love being first. First to ride. First to eat. First to post. First to cry at a closing attraction. First to own a T-shirt that says something emotionally specific about a ride vehicle. Opening days and final days used to be niche events for superfans, locals, and people with very understanding PTO policies. Now, they can feel like a full-scale migration. A new snack debuts? Line. A character appears in a new outfit? Line. A ride reopens after refurbishment? Line. A beloved attraction has its final day? That line may develop its own weather system. Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster opens TODAY! There is nothing wrong with wanting to be there for a big Disney moment. Those days can be really special. The energy is different. The crowd is full of people who care. There are often tiny details and shared reactions you cannot recreate later. But you also need to know what you are signing up for. Opening day is rarely the easiest or best version of an experience. Operations are still settling. Demand is sky high. Everyone is filming. Half the crowd is stressed because they built their entire day around being first. The other half is stressed because they did not know they were walking into a fandom stampede. The better move? Let DFB do the chaos recon for you. We will stand in the weird line. We will test the snack. We will tell you if the souvenir sipper is worth rearranging your day. You can go a week later and have the same experience with fewer elbows in your ribs. Line for Bluey’s dance party For final days, go in with patience. Everyone there is attached to the thing in their own way. Let people have their moment. Sing along if it is appropriate. Do not spoil pre-shows for first-timers. And please, for the love of all that is holy, do not livestream over someone else’s farewell tears. FIRST LOOK Behind the Construction Walls of Monstropolis in Disney World Viral Snacks There is a specific kind of Disney snack that starts as a hidden gem and ends as a logistical event. One day, it is just a great cupcake, loaded fry basket, seasonal cheesecake, or suspiciously perfect little tart minding its business in a bakery case. Then someone posts it. Then everyone posts it. Then suddenly, you are standing in a 25-minute snack line behind a person explaining into their phone that “you HAVE to get this.” We are not innocent. We talk about snacks for a living. We have probably contributed to at least one line in our time, and we accept our frosting-covered consequences. But viral Disney snacks can be tricky because popularity does not always equal greatness. Sometimes the snack really is worth the hype. Sometimes it is pretty, limited-time, and tastes like sugar had a meeting with more sugar. Sometimes it is delicious, but not delicious enough to rearrange your whole park day. Cookie Dough Brownie Ice Cream Sandwich Our advice is to build a snack hierarchy before you go. Pick one or two “must-try” items, then let the rest be flexible. Mobile order when you can. Go during off-times. Avoid peak lunch and dinner rushes if you are chasing something from a quick-service spot. And always have a backup snack. Gaston’s Cinnamon Roll This is also where we lovingly remind you that not every snack has to be new to be elite. A classic Dole Whip still works. A Mickey pretzel still does its job. And if you happen to pass a Key Lime Pie on a Stick, you should absolutely stop because some snacks are not trends. Some snacks are poetry wearing chocolate. This Magic Kingdom Cinnamon Roll Is Basically a Full-Blown Disney Legend: And For Good Reason Disney “Hacks” The fastest way to ruin a Disney hack is to call it a hack. Some Disney tips are genuinely useful. Mobile ordering early? Helpful. Checking the walk-up waitlist? Helpful. Booking dining reservations as early as your window allows? Helpful. Knowing which resort lounges are easier to visit than packed park restaurants? Helpful. But once a tip becomes “the SECRET Disney hack they don’t want you to know,” it starts losing its sparkle. Usually, Disney does want you to know. That is why the feature is in the app, on the website, or politely explained by a Cast Member who has answered the same question 48 times before lunch. The real issue is that once everybody uses the same hack at the same time, it stops feeling like a hack and starts feeling like a crowd with sketchy vocabulary. This is what happened with certain lounges, dining alerts, mobile order tricks, hotel transportation shortcuts, and “quiet” park spots. The internet finds something good, the internet tells everyone, and then the good thing becomes less good because now it is hosting a convention of people who all watched the same video. Dining area So here is the better strategy: learn the tools, but do not depend on one perfect trick. Know how Mobile Order works. Know how walk-up dining works. Know your reservation windows. Know your transportation options. But also build a trip that can bend a little. If your “secret” plan fails, pivot. If one lounge is full, try another. If one snack sells out, eat something else. If one viewing spot is packed, do not wedge your party into a two-inch gap and pretend physics is optional. Disney rewards planners, but it also rewards people who can change course without turning into a Haunted Mansion portrait. Park Outfits for the Algorithm Disney outfits used to be simple. You wore something cute, something comfortable, or something that said: “I packed this at midnight and regret nothing.” Then DisneyBounding got huge. Matching shirts got huge. Themed outfits got huge. Park content got huge. Folks started building Pinterest boards with “vacation aesthetic,” and the rest of us started getting panic attacks if our trip didn’t look like “their” trip. (I mean, did you even really go on a Disney World vacation if you didn’t have everyone in your travel party wearing matching neon shirts from Etsy?) And now some guests are dressing for the photo first and the 97-degree pavement second. ©Amazon To be clear, we love a good DisneyBound. We love a subtle character outfit. We love matching shirts when they are funny, specific, or at least not printed with a threat about Dad’s wallet. We love creativity. We support whimsy. We want more whimsy in public spaces and fewer people wearing hard pants to Animal Kingdom. But Disney outfits can go wrong when they become impractical, uncomfortable, or a little too close to an actual costume. Disney has dress guidelines, and guests ages 14 and older generally cannot wear costumes in the parks outside certain special event exceptions. So if your outfit requires a hoop skirt, a full wig, a cape with a wingspan, or shoes that were clearly designed by someone who hates arches, maybe rethink the plan. Dappy Day 2025 There is also the sidewalk problem. Take the photo. Get the shot. Document your outfit. But do not block a walkway, hold up a ride entrance, or stage an entire editorial shoot in front of a trash can people actively need. The best Disney outfit is cute enough for the photo and functional enough for the day. Breathable fabric. Good shoes. Sunscreen access. A bag that does not require a construction crew. That is the dream. Mark Your Calendars – The 2026 Dapper Day Dates Have Been Announced! We Still Love Disney Adults Here is the thing: Disney Adults did not really ruin Disney. Disney Adults are often the people making dining reservations for the group, researching discounts, remembering sunscreen, tipping well, cheering for Cast Members, finding the best snacks, and telling their friends which bathroom is cleanest. This is valuable labor. Society should recognize it. The magic is calling! The problem is not adults loving Disney. The problem is when enthusiasm turns into entitlement, gatekeeping, reselling, crowding, or treating every park day like a personal content launch. So go love what you love. Wear the ears. Book the lounge. Cry during the fireworks. Have strong opinions about churros. Defend Living with the Land with the seriousness it deserves. Just remember that Disney World is shared space. Families are there. First-timers are there. Kids are there. Tired parents are there. Cast Members are doing their best. Other Disney Adults are also trying to have their magical little snack parade of a day. Living with the Land Be excited. Be prepared. Be flexible. And maybe don’t buy six popcorn buckets unless five of them are going directly into the hands of friends, family, or a very organized Muppet fan club. Disney Adults have not ruined everything. That’s part of the reason Disney just released this behind-the-scenes video showing how it all works, and we STILL can’t believe it. 10. Yes, we are still talking about our recent trip to Dollywood, and this meal included one of our favorite dishes we tried on our trip! Dine with us! You know we enjoy our theme park food here at DFB, and the food in Dollywood was no different. Located in Tennessee, Dollywood is becoming a name in the theme park food space. We had to check out the restaurants at the HeartSong Resort, and this is everything we tried! Atmosphere Located in the HeartSong Resort, the High Note is the perfect venue to simply relax and unwind after a fun-filled day. It offers casual dining and drinks with a simple atmosphere. This is a very casual restaurant, and it is open from 11 AM to 11 PM. High Note Now, you won’t find many bells or whistles here, but it blends nicely with the theme of the resort. It reminds us of other hotel lounges we’ve been to. It’s a great place to sit down after a long day at Dollywood, grab a bite to eat, and enjoy a drink. High Note Bar area Menu The menu here had a lot of options, surprisingly, for a hotel restaurant. They did have a separate speciality menu for the Flower and Food Festival that was happening during our stay. For drinks, they had a selection of champagne, white, sparkling wines, and red wines. Drink Menu There is also a variety of beers, seltzers, and liquor options. For food, there are shareables and a few flatbreads. Cocktails and more High Note also offers salads, burgers, and sandwiches, dinner entree options, and a few desserts. Salads, Supper, and More Eats First up, we grabbed the Tennessee Creamery Cheese and Charcuterie Board for $28. Artisan Cheeses and Meats sourced from local farms. It is served with Honey, Fresh Fruit, Jams, Pickles, Toasted Crostinis. We loved the spread of this board. Our favorite part was having the honey and jam on the side to complement all the salty items. The toasted crostinis were incredible, with lots of crunch, while the other crackers were more basic. Both cheeses were fairly mild, for the most part, so if you’re more of a strong-flavored cheese fan, you’ll be out of luck. There were three different meats on the board, and all were salty, thin, and pretty much what you would expect on a charcuterie. We appreciated the extra accompaniments on the side, including dried fruit, little gherkin pickles, and grapes. Tennessee Creamery Cheese and Charcuterie Board Next, we tried the Sausage, Mushroom, & Onion Flatbread for $21. This is made with Swaggerty’s Sausage, Wild Mushrooms, Caramelized Onions, Mozzarella Cheese, and Fresh Parmesan. The dough was crispy on the bottom and nice and soft without losing structure. The toppings were LOADED UP, which we loved as it gave us the full flavor in every bite. We enjoyed the sweetness from the caramelized onion, paired with the savory sausage, and the umami from the mushroom. This was one of our favorite dishes at Dollywood! Sausage, Mushroom, & Onion Flatbread We also tried Margherita Flatbread for $19. This flatbread had Mozzarella Cheese, Tomato Sauce, and Basil. The base of the flatbread was similar to the other one in that it was crispy and held up while eating. We appreciated how fresh the ingredients tasted on this flatbread, and we would order it again! Margherita Flatbread Finally, we tried the Gnocchi Carbonara for $28. This dish is Potato Gnocchi, Benton’s Bacon, Parmesan Cheese, Romano Cheese Vegetarian – Potato Gnocchi, Shiitake Mushroom, Extra Virgin Olive Oil. This dish blew us away! It reminded us almost of a biscuits and gravy style carbonara. The gnocchi was well-cooked, it wasn’t chewy, and it had a nice sear on it. The blistered tomatoes were earthy and added a much-needed acidity to break through the heavy carbonara. Gnocchi Carbonara The sauce itself was super thick and more akin to a gravy texture. It was heavy, creamy, and peppery. While it was not what we were expecting, we really enjoyed it. If you’re not looking for a super heavy meal, skip this one. It’s definitely a southern take on a carbonara — which it’s Dollywood, so we love it! Nosh or Not This Dollywood restaurant is a must-visit if… You are staying at the HeartSong Resort. This restaurant is conveniently located inside the hotel, giving you quick access to drinks and food. You want a variety of options. We loved that you could grab salads, handhelds, flatbreads, and more heavy entrees. You should skip this Dollywood spot if… You are with kids. While there is variety on the menu, kids might find this space and menu a bit unamusing. You don’t want to slow down for a meal. This is a sit-down restaurant with no grab-and-go options. Overall We really enjoyed our meal here. We loved the variety you can find on the menu, whether you’re looking for a light snack or a full meal. We enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere and loved having a place to sit down and unwind with good food after a long day at Dollywood. The food was full of flavor and gave us some of our favorite meals at Dollywood. We would visit here again for the food alone. The Menu We will continue to share more from our Dollywood trip, so be sure to keep following us at DFB! 11. MAJOR changes are coming to a classic Disney Attraction, and many fans – – myself included – – are a bit torn on it. Carousel of Progress Walt Disney’s Carousel of Progress has been operating in one form or another since its debut at the 1964 New York World’s Fair. The animatronic stage show initially followed a family through the technological advancements of the early 1900s through the mid-1900s, ending in a 1960s-vision of the near future. Following the Fair, the show was moved to Disneyland for about a decade before being shipped back across the country to Walt Disney World. Over the years, the attraction was intermittently updated, with the most recent major upgrade coming in 1994. While the show has its fans – – myself VERY much included – – it is fair to say that the show has been feeling a bit stale for a while now. After all, the “near-future” ending sequence still name-drops the upcoming turn of the millennium. Carousel of Progress That’s why many films welcomed the 2025 announcement that Carousel of Progress would be undergoing a refurbishment. At the time, it was confirmed that the show would include a Walt Disney animatronic in the introduction similar to the one seen at Disneyland, though few other details were announced at the time. ©Disney After months of waiting, Disney finally released more details on the refurbishment, and it’s much bigger than most Disney fans anticipated. To keep the Carousel of Progress “relatable for today’s audiences,” the entire show is being reworked, with a new structure featuring acts based on the 1960s (itself harkening back to the decade the show originally debuted), the 1980s, the 1999-turn of the millennium, and a “possible future” that will imagine a time where “extraordinary innovation has become part of life and proves that a beautiful tomorrow is just a dream away.” According to Disney, the attraction will close on July 6th for its transformation, with an estimated reopening in 2027. ©Disney When I first heard the details of the refurbishment, like many Disney fans, I was a bit taken aback. As a Disney fan who’s admittedly a bit of a classicist, I was initially turned off. While I did think that the finale needed to be replaced (sorry, Flying Ace Granny), I was a bit concerned about the rest of the show. As I wrote at the time, “… the attraction has been both a progress-focused look at the future, while at the same time being a nostalgic look at the past. That latter element has become even more important to the presentation in the last three decades, as the show has been treated almost as a museum-style tribute to Walt Disney. My slight fear is that, while some changes are necessary, Disney may alter the first three acts of the show so much that they don’t resemble the classic version of the show, and in turn lose that aforementioned museum-like tribute quality. This would be especially ironic considering the addition of the Walt animatronic.” What will the future bring? However, as I read about the upcoming changes and Disney’s reasoning for them, I have admittedly done a 180-degree turn. Mainly because, while there are elements of the classic Carousel of Progress that I will miss for nostalgia’s sake, I do believe that the attraction’s message of a hopeful future is one that needs to be relatable to modern audiences, and right now it’s not. ©Disney The 1960s are as far away from the 2020s as the early 1900s were from the 1960s when the original debuted. Modern audiences have their own time periods to look back on, and their own “Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow” to look forward to. The “Resident Flying Ace” is about to be grounded. Disney is making major changes to the Carousel of Progress beginning this July. Stay tuned to DFB for further updates on this project. 4 Abandoned and Creepy Parts of Disney World Join the DFB Newsletter to get all the breaking news right in your inbox! Click here to Subscribe! 12. We’re just a few short days away from the release of Avatar: Fire and Ash on Disney+, and to celebrate, we just got to do something EXTREMELY cool! ‘Avatar: Fire and Ash’ ©Disney To celebrate the release of the film on the streaming platform, Walt Disney Theater in Orlando, Florida hosted the US premiere of Avatar in Concert, combining the beloved film with the incredibly powerful art of a live orchestra. We were so thrilled to be invited to the event, which left us not only thrilled to see the third installment of the franchise again on our screens at home, but also reminded us just how stunning and immersive the original 2009 film is. You’ve likely heard of other films being “in concert” before, and this followed a similar pattern. This was an experience where the original Avatar film was shown on a big screen and was accompanied by a live performance of James Horner’s score by the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra and Opera Orlando. The orchestra was conducted by John Jesensky, and the performance also featured “ethnic flutes and whistles” by Eric Rigler and vocals by Eleanor Grant. We’re here! What absolutely blew our minds about this experience was how balanced the orchestra and vocals were with the original film, which had all of its music taken out, so every note we heard was live. In fact, the balance was so precise and the execution so flawless that at times it was difficult to remember you were listening to a live orchestra at all! We also have to give a special shout-out to the vocals performed by Eleanor Grant — to say she nailed it would be a massive understatement! What an incredible night! However, we do feel the need to point out that we did hear audience members saddened by the fact that there was no face paint, as was originally stated to be offered, and there was also no special merchandise for the event. We heard several longtime fans note that exclusive merchandise has often been part of previous film concert presentations, and the empty merchandise location was easily the biggest source of disappointment among attendees. Instead, the area where it’s been in the past was just used for seating. Only seating, no merchandise Again, though, the actual show itself was incredible, and it amazes us every time we see Avatar how well it holds up. The movie remains ahead of its time, and it’s wild to think that these incredible visual effects were done 16 years ago! It was a great way to get us excited for the Disney+ release of the newest film, which we’ll absolutely be putting on our TVs first thing on June 24th. More Recent Disney Media News! 14. We love going to Epic Universe for an epic park day. Where else can you ride dragons, battle wizards, face monsters, and race in Mario Kart all in one day? Epic Universe! Well, we have some massive Epic Universe news – the park is about to get even bigger. Universal just filed a brand-new permit for a 71,500-square-foot structure at Epic Universe! According to the Orlando Business Journal, Universal just filed a brand-new permit for a 71,500-square-foot structure at Epic Universe at 1001 Epic Blvd. The permit doesn’t include a project description, though records indicate the building’s category covers recreational, social, or sauna facilities. Luna lights up the night in Celestial Park Because of the building’s size, it will likely be a medium-sized attraction or a live entertainment venue. Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge is roughly 71,000 square feet, and The Untrainable Dragon show in the Isle of Berk spans around 70,000 square feet. Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge The contractor is Stantec Architecture, which is a frequent collaborator of Universal’s. In addition to this new project, it’s building project 915 in Celestial Park, a two-story multi-purpose event space. From their portfolio, we’re pretty sure that this new space will be a theater or a similar entertainment venue. ©Bioreconstruct on X When we looked back at Epic Universe’s concept art, we saw that Dark Universe originally included a theater that didn’t make it into the final park. While we’re not sure what the show would entail, it fits within the permit’s square footage and aligns with Stantc Architecture’s theatrical background. ©Universal We’ll be sure to update you on all the new Epic Universe construction. 17. Sometimes it feels like you can see closures or construction in Disney World practically everywhere you look. EPCOT Right now, EPCOT is the park with the least construction, partly due to the fact that it’s the only park not getting an entire new land. However, if you look closely, you’ll find small projects throughout the park, like La Poutinerie, which has a planned opening date of July 1st. Another one is about to join the list, though, and we’ll be without this World Showcase store for a few months. Over in the France Pavilion, one of the stores you’ll find is La Signature, where you can check out 70 different French cosmetics and fragrances from Guerlain, and also get a makeup consultation, if you so desire! France Pavilion It’s a smaller store, and many people walk right by it, but we’ve enjoyed popping in to see what they have every now and then, especially if we just need a breath of AC for a second. We won’t be able to step into the store for a while, though, because it’ll be closing temporarily beginning June 29th. It’s expected to open later in 2026, but no official date has been set. France Pavilion in EPCOT Guerlain merchandise from La Signature will be available at Plume Et Palette, located nearby, for the time being, so if you were really looking forward to checking out what’s offered, don’t worry, you won’t miss out. It might make the store a bit more crowded than normal, so keep that in mind. More Recent EPCOT News! FOOD NEWS! 18. These are the things almost every first-time Disney visitor says the same thing about. If you’ve never been to Walt Disney World before, you probably have a picture in your head of what it’s like. And to be fair—some of it is exactly what you expect. 19. While there wasn’t much news from inside the actual Disney World parks this past week, we did get TONS of news that will soon affect Disney Springs and Disney’s BoardWalk. ©Disney For months now, there have been empty buildings over at the BoardWalk, and while there have been permits filed, there has been no official announcement as to what is on the way. Until now, that is, because this past week, Disney revealed exactly what’s coming to the BoardWalk, and we also got some exciting updates about Disney Springs projects in the works! Over in Disney Springs, Columbia Sportswear will be reopening on July 24th, and Six Ravens took a big step forward with new signage and decor on the outside of the building. Additionally, we got the news that Level99 will officially be opening on June 29th, and tickets will go on sale beginning June 22nd. Future location of Level99 Let’s take a look at all the current closures taking place in Disney World from June 19th through June 26th. Magic Kingdom Storybook Circus Pete’s Silly Sideshow is temporarily unavailable as of January 4th, 2026. This is the Storybook Circus meet and greet area, where you can meet Donald Duck, Goofy, Daisy Duck, and Minnie Mouse as they join the circus. Good news, though! While Pete’s Silly Sideshow will be closed, you can still meet all of the characters! You will find Goofy and Minnie at the entrance to Storybook Circus, and you can find Donald and Daisy in the back of Storybook Circus by the restrooms. Pete’s Silly Sideshow However, now there’s ANOTHER closure in the land as well. Big Top Souvenirs closed on February 20th, and Disney has said it’ll “reopen for guests to enjoy later this year,” but there’s no date in sight. When we stopped by recently, we noticed that the entire top of the store is GONE right now! Talk about a jump scare! The tent disappeared! We’re really curious to see how this all turns out, so we’ll keep you updated! Liberty Square Riverboat and Tom Sawyer Island An iconic part of the Magic Kingdom is now permanently closed. As of July 7th, 2025, the Rivers of America, including the Liberty Square River Boat and Tom Sawyer Island, are permanently closed to make way for the new Cars area, Piston Peak. There are lots of construction walls up in the area now, and the structures on Tom Sawyer Island have been demolished. Most recently, we saw some updates to the concrete on the land, as well as leveling taking place for the new attractions — how exciting! Piston Peak construction Piston Peak National Park will be replacing this area of the Magic Kingdom. Disney has not yet announced an opening date for the new Cars area, but we do know it will feature two brand-new attractions and be themed to look like a National Park. Disney Shared a Behind-the-Scenes Look at the NEW Cinderella Castle Disney’s Hollywood Studios (Parts of) Animation Courtyard Animation Courtyard closed on September 25th, 2025, to make way for Walt Disney Studios. The courtyard area, new Disney Jr. show, and meet and greet station for Sofia the First and SupeKitties officially opened on May 26th, but we’re still waiting for the other sections of the area to open. Star Wars Launch Bay will be turned into The Magic of Disney Animation. This attraction will have you interacting and exploring with this fun take on Disney Animation headquarters, complete with the return of the Sorcerer Mickey hat! The Magic of Disney Animation in Walt Disney Studios This area will also feature a new Drawn to Wonderland indoor play area that we can’t wait to see! Muppets Courtyard Muppet*Vision 3D and PizzeRizzo closed on June 8th, 2025, and Muppets Courtyard has been walled off for construction on the new Monsters, Inc. land. Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano has been closed since May 11th, 2025. Most recently, Disney released new information about Monstropolis, saying that “Monstropolis — the monster city now powered by laughter — is getting ready to give humans a glimpse of what’s been hidden from their world for generations. Which raises an interesting question: if humans were never meant to enter the monster world … why are the doors finally opening to us?” ©Disney We’ll get to explore their world during H.U.M.A.N. Day, or “Humans Understand Monsters Are Nice” Day, with Disney continuing to say, “Human guests will have the chance to explore the city, meet its citizens, taste unique cuisine, and step into the everyday world of monsters in a totally new way. For the first time, two worlds once separated are meeting face to scaly, furry, and fang-filled face – brought together not by screams, but by laughter.” ©Disney It’s also been fully confirmed that Harryhausen’s will be one of the restaurants in the new land, which we’re beyond excited to experience. If you’re missing The Muppets, you can go visit them at Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets right now! 3 Changes Coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios Next Month EPCOT La Poutinerie Refreshment Port, located near the Canada Pavilion in EPCOT’s World Showcase, closed for refurbishment on January 12th. We know that when it reopens, it’ll become La Poutinerie, and Disney recently revealed some of the menu to us, as well as let us know that it’ll officially open on July 1st. ©Disney The spot will be sponsored by Air Canada, and promises to deliver “a Canadian classic with a twist.” We’re stoked! The Weird Disney World Rule You Must Plan For at the Mexico Pavilion in EPCOT Disney’s Animal Kingdom DinoLand, USA On February 2nd, DinoLand, USA officially closed to make way for the new Tropical Americas land, Pueblo Esperanza. Most recently, thanks to an update by @bioreconstruct on X, we can see that the walls have been cast and placed for the Casita in front of the Encanto dark ride. via @bioreconstruct We can also see lots of work happening at the front of the new Indiana Jones ride! via @bioreconstruct This new land is shaping up nicely! It will have three new rides – a carousel featuring classic Disney animals, an Indiana Jones ride where you’ll explore a Mayan temple, and an Encanto ride that invites you into the Madrigals’ home. We can’t wait to continue to see how it all shapes up. 4 Abandoned and Creepy Parts of Disney World Disney World Hotels Boat Dock — Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort Starting on May 11th, the Boat Dock at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort became unavailable for guests to use due to refurbishment. The dock is closed! Boat transportation was unavailable through June 5th, but has now reopened. Though construction on the dock as a whole will continue through late June. It’s not too bad, but this does mean the only way to get from the hotel to Magic Kingdom is to take the Monorail or walk. Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa This hotel has been undergoing refurbishments for quite some time now, but some sections of the hotel — specifically the porte cochere — will continue to undergo refurbishment through at least early 2027. Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort We certainly hope it’ll actually reopen on this timeline — we’re a little tired of seeing construction all over this beautiful hotel! Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort Currently, work is taking place all over Bay Lake Tower through Late 2027. Additionally, exterior elevator landing repairs will be taking place through late May 2026. Bay Lake Tower While currently no major closures are taking place due to this construction, it’s important to note that you may see or hear construction during your stay. Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort For those looking to dine at this hotel, you need to know that the Turf Club Bar & Grill and Turf Club Lounge will both be under refurbishment from mid-March through mid-September 2026. Turf Club Bar & Grill In early April, the Turf Club Lounge will close for refurbishment and will reopen in early August. In the meantime, the Turf Club Bar & Grill will remain open with a pop-up bar serving a modified Lounge food and beverage menu. Then, from early to mid-August, the Turf Club patio will close for refurbishment, and finally, from mid-August through mid-September, the Turf Club Bar & Grill will be closed for refurbishment, but the Turf Club Lounge will be open. Leisure Pools — Disney’s Yacht Club Resort and Disney’s Beach Club Resort Disney’s Yacht Club and Disney’s Beach Club Resort are currently undergoing visible exterior maintenance. The maintenance could affect views and may require alternate routes at times. In addition, two of the resort’s leisure pools will close for routine maintenance. Tidal Pool At Disney’s Yacht Club, the Admiral leisure will be closed for maintenance through early May 2026. At Disney’s Beach Club, the Tidal leisure pool will be closed for maintenance through early May 2026. Guests may see or hear construction work, but it will only be done during the daytime hours. Yachtsman Steakhouse — Disney’s Yacht Club Resort On May 11th, Yachtsman Steakhouse officially closed for refurbishment. Yachtsman Steakhouse The restaurant is expected to open sometime in early August, though no official date has been set. Promenade Fine Art Gallery — Disney’s BoardWalk Inn and Resort The Promenade Fine Art Gallery closed its Disney’s BoardWalk location on October 20th, 2025. However, the Promenade Fine Art Gallery isn’t closing for good, and it will just be moving to a new location. Promenade Fine Art Gallery Disney just filed permits for the BoardWalk titled “Project Amazon” and “Project Bubbles” earlier this year, and now that we have a bit more information on them, we’re thinking that this currently vacant spot could soon become the home of the new Basin on the BoardWalk store on its way! The shop will be rooted in the resort’s classic boardwalk heritage and will offer a sensory shopping experience that is described as “both timeless and distinctly new.” Jellyrolls — Disney’s BoardWalk Jellyrolls at Disney’s BoardWalk officially closed on April 19th, 2025. This entertainment venue has provided our team with countless memories, and we know many others are also sad to see it close. Jellyrolls had its final farewell performance on April 19th. 2025 and closed its doors forever on Disney’s BoardWalk. It was just recently revealed, though, that a new lounge will be coming to the BoardWalk! ©Disney The new lounge will be called Hurly-Burly and will be a “fun-filled afternoons and glamorous evenings inside a historic seaside theatre with a vibrant BoardWalk story that spans over a century.” Based on the concept art revealed, it’s looking like the former JellyRolls building would be the best fit for this spot, but we’re also waiting to see where the new quick-service restaurant announced for the BoardWalk will be going! 22. Disney World had an annoying problem – if you wanted a crispy soda straight from the fountain, you’d have to go to a quick-service restaurant, often with long lines and no open tables. The popcorn carts and outdoor food stands didn’t have a soda machine for your soda fix – but that just massively changed! Nothing beats a crispy Diet Coke and a walk in front of the castle! When we heard that some popcorn carts and snack stands in Disney World started offering fountain drinks, we had to investigate. We learned that yes, the rumors are true, and yes, you can get a crispy fountain soda at select popcorn carts now! But then we wondered, which ones? After a full week of investigating, we compiled a comprehensive list of what popcorn carts, snack stands, and outdoor vending spots offer bottled vs fountain drinks across all of Disney World! Here’s the full list sorted by park: Magic Kingdom Main Street, U.S.A. Main Street Popcorn Cart in front of the Chamber of Commerce – bottled drinks Left side of The Hub by Adventureland – fountain drinks Right side The Hub by Tomorrowland – fountain drinks Fantasyland Ice cream carts – bottled drinks Maurice’s Amazing Popcorn Machine – bottled drinks Price Eric’s Village Market – bottled drinks Storybook Circus Popcorn Carts – bottled drinks Frontierland Popcorn cart – bottled drinks Westward Ho – fountain drinks Frontierland Churro Cart – bottled drinks Liberty Square Ice cream carts – bottled drinks Popcorn cart – bottled drinks Liberty Square Market – bottled drinks Tomorrowland Ice cream carts – bottled drinks Adventureland Spring Roll Cart – bottled drinks Popcorn cart – bottled drinks Magic Kingdom EPCOT World Celebration World Celebration Popcorn Cart – fountain drinks Future World West Popcorn Cart – bottled drinks World Nature The Land Cart – bottled drinks Refreshment Cart by The Seas – bottled drinks World Showcase Canada Popcorn Cart – bottled drinks Kabuki Cafe – bottled drinks Fire and Drum Tavern – fountain drinks Germany carts – bottled drinks Refreshment Outpost – fountain drinks Norway Popcorn Cart – fountain drinks Mexico Popcorn Cart – fountain drinks EPCOT Disney’s Hollywood Studios Hollywood Boulevard Ice cream cart in front of The Hollywood Brown Derby – bottled drinks Hot and Fresh Popcorn in front of Walt Disney Studios – fountain drinks Popcorn cart by Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway – fountain drinks Churro cart by Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway – bottled drinks Sunset Boulevard Anaheim Produce – bottled drinks Ice cream carts – bottled drinks FØØD by Swedish Chef – fountain drinks Pretzel Palooza – bottled drinks The Walt Disney Studios All carts have bottled drinks Echo Lake Oasis Canteen – bottled drinks Grand Avenue Ice Cold Hydraulics – fountain drinks Galaxy Edge All carts and stands sell speciality droid soda bottles Toy Story Land Popcorn carts – fountain drinks All other snack stands sell bottled drinks Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway Animal Kingdom Animal Kingdom is the most consistent park yet. 24. We don’t want to sound too dramatic, but things are not going very well at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge right now! Wilderness Lodge This is one of the most popular hotels at Disney World. It has a cabin-like feel to it, almost as if you’re on a camping retreat at the Most Magical Place on Earth. Although the resort is not feeling very magical right now. The Wilderness Lodge is a hot resort right now. No…like literally HOT! The AC has completely shut down across the resort for three days, and they still have not been able to fix whatever issue is going on. Some parts of the hotel you really feel it, while others aren’t so bad. Wilderness Lodge It’s slightly cooler down at Roaring Fork, the quick-service restaurant. We actually found some temporary AC over there, which really helps, especially when enjoying your meal. Overall, things are a little chaotic as Cast Members do their best to accommodate the guests staying at the resort. Temporary AC We found it to be extra hot inside Mercantile. The fridges have also been emptied, and there’s a posted sign saying, “If you’re looking for something specific, ask a Cast Member.” A Cast Member actually came up to us while we were looking in the fridges to help us find something, which was super helpful! Temporary AC We truly feel for everyone staying here and the Cast Members who are working hard to make the best out of the situation. The Cast Members are doing everything they can to help the guests, and they even put an ice water station in the lobby, which was nice and really helped a lot! Ice water station! Some areas are operating normally. Whispering Canyon is still serving food right now, while Territory Lounge and Artists Pointe are both expected to open later. And everything was operating normally at Roaring Fork. Whispering Canyon Cafe Problems are bound to happen, but we’re hoping Disney can solve this issue soon, especially considering how hot it is outside right now.
