  2. We’ve almost made it to one of our favorite Disney days of the year — 626 Day, also known as Stitch Day! Surf’s up! Yes, it’s celebrated every year on June 26th, because Stitch’s experiment number is 626. That’s just a few days around the corner, and if you’re in California, there’s a VERY fun way you can celebrate. This is one event you won’t want to miss! In Newport Beach, California, you can celebrate 626 Day with Stitch’s 626 Day Beach Bash! The event will take place on Fashion Beach, and do you want to know the best part? The first 100 visitors will get FREE Hulu Girls Shave Ice. ©Disney Other giveaways will also be happening for those first 100 visitors, so this is totally something you’ll want to show up early for. The event takes place from 12 PM to 6 PM, and while the most exciting aspects mentioned may happen at the start, knowing Disney, we wouldn’t be surprised if they’ve got other tricks and surprises up their sleeves. Hi Stitch! If you won’t be in California but you will be near Disney World, you can celebrate 626 Day by heading to meet Stitch in the park! If you’re at home, we recommend throwing on Lilo & Stitch to enjoy the chaos the little blue alien brings. ©Disney Looking for more recent Disney news? Check out our posts below! 3. Come along with us for a Pixar-themed adventure among the high seas! ©Disney The Disney Cruise Line hosts Pixar Days at Sea for ALL cruise passengers on select 5-night itineraries sailing to The Bahamas. These themed-event days let you join your favorite Pixar pals for special character meet-and-greets, entertainment, pool parties, and character dining experiences. We’re BIG fans of this sailing event, and if you’ve ever wanted to know what it’s like, read ahead to learn about our most recent Pixar Days at Sea itinerary! We experienced our Pixar Days at Sea event on Day while sailing with the Disney Fantasy! While we’ve done all sorts of themed events aboard the Disney Cruise Line, Pixar Days just might be our favorite. ©Disney We loved Pixar Day at Sea! There’s so much to do, but not an overwhelming amount of activities to the point that FOMO sets in. One of the best perks of this cruise offering is that it feels like you’re always seeing characters. Disney brings them out in spades, and the biggest Pixar fans will likely spot their favorites. Characters you might meet include Woody and Buzz Lightyear from Toy Story, Mike and Sulley from Monsters, Inc., Edna Mode from The Incredibles, Joy from Inside Out, Miguel from Coco, and more! ©Disney We started off by meeting Edna Mode and Mrs. Incredible, which was just so fun, iconic, and special. We love that you can actually have conversations with them — unlike when you meet them in the Disney Parks. We even got to meet Rex! ©Disney Don’t skip the deck parties — even if you think they might not be your thing. We had a blast at Ednaville and thought it was so funny! All the kids got to get involved, and adults got to get involved if they wanted to. Everyone got to sashay away with some fun poses, and there were even some fun surprises with Mr. and Mrs. Incredible, as well as Frozone! Pixar House celebration was also a great time. They had everybody you wanted to see dancing — kind of like a mini-rave (that’s family-friendly, of course). ©Disney Basically, if it sounds silly, do it. For example, we got to do a Create Your Own Forky from the Toy Story franchise, and it was a blast. There was an adults-only version, but we still recommend going to the family one because the kids were very cute. ©Disney However, the one reason you should go to Pixar Days at Sea — even if you don’t like Pixar — is the food. There’s the Hey Howdy Breakfast that includes some tasty eats alongside live music and sing-a-longs! ©Disney We LOVED the Pixar Dat at Sea Dinner — which features dishes inspired by the commissary at the California-based Pixar Animation Studios. This was the highlight of the whole day for us. The food served here at Animator’s Palate is unique and so very good, and even if we didn’t dig Pixar, this dinner would make it still very worth it. Massimo’s Linguini Pasta This was probably one of the best rotational dining meals we have ever had. It was delicious, buttery, garlicky, and we were really blown away by ALL of it. Playful Pixar Ball Of course, there are even MORE foodie opportunities! You can do the Anyone Can Cook live cooking demo experience, where you can learn how to cook Remy’s signature dish from Ratatouille, as well as Undersea Magic with Crush — which features a Finding Nemo-inspired meal, complete with a special visit from characters from the film! We tried to join Anyone Can Cook, but it was unfortunately full. We did stop in and smelled amazing, though. We also saw kids asking the French chef questions, and it was very cute and interactive. Animator’s Palate on the Disney Fantasy Ultimately, we were HUGE fans of this event and had a super fun day! In our opinion, it was super worth it, and we can’t wait to do it again! 5. The newest installment in the Toy Story franchise, Toy Story 5, released in theaters on June 19th, and in the first weekend, the film has already begun breaking box office records! ©Disney It’s been a bit of a rough run for some Disney films in the box office recently, even for recent releases like The Mandalorian and Grogu, so some people were concerned at how this film was going to do. However, it’s now the franchise’s BEST opening weekend film! According to the BBC, Toy Story 5 made $300m globally in just its opening weekend, officially making it the largest opening the franchise has ever seen. It’s currently estimated to be the second biggest opening this year globally, only behind The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, which has currently grossed over $1 billion. ©IMDb To break it down, Toy Story 5 raked in $150 million in North America and $150 million globally in the opening weekend, showing a strong performance in both markets. The budget of the film itself was about $250 million, and it’ll need to at least double that number to be considered profitable. Already passing the $250 million mark in the opening weekend is promising, and we’ll be keeping a close eye on how it continues to perform. ©Disney It’s not uncommon for Disney and Pixar sequels to do very well at the box office, with some like Incredibles 2 and Inside Out 2 crossing the $1 billion mark. Will Toy Story 5 be another one to hit that? We’ll have to see! The franchise as a whole has brought in $3 billion since 1995, when Toy Story was first released, with the series 3rd and 4th installments both hitting the $1 billion mark. ©Disney Looking for more recent Toy Story 5 news? 7. Amazon is once again tempting us with a cart full of discounted Disney finds, and frankly, some of these are dangerously easy to justify. ©iStock A cute tumbler? Useful. A Disney coffee cup? Essential. A coloring book for when your brain has had enough emails? Preventive care. A doormat that quotes Disney transportation? That is called curating a household. Here are a bunch of cool Disney items we spotted on sale today! DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission. Silver Buffalo Mickey and Friends Pattern Glass Tumbler with Bamboo Lid and Glass Straw This is one of those items that looks like it belongs on your desk next to an iced coffee, a half-finished to-do list, and the quiet delusion that you are about to have a productive afternoon. The Silver Buffalo Mickey and Friends glass tumbler features Minnie Mouse, Pluto, Goofy, Daisy Duck, Donald Duck, and Mickey Mouse in a fun all-over pattern, and it comes with a bamboo lid and glass straw. So yes, it is cute. But it is also useful, which is exactly the kind of loophole we love when defending a purchase to ourselves. ©Amazon This would be great for iced coffee, lemonade, water, or whatever beverage you are sipping while you scroll Disney menus for no immediate reason. We have all been there. view ON AMAZON The Story of Disney: 100 Years of Wonder For the Disney fan who likes their coffee table books thick, glossy, and absolutely packed with lore, this is a good one to check out. The Story of Disney: 100 Years of Wonder is the kind of book that looks fancy enough to leave out when company comes over, but it is also the kind of thing you will actually want to flip through. It celebrates Disney history across films, parks, characters, stories, and the creative weird little sparks that built the company into what it is today. The Story of Disney: 100 Years of Wonder This is a solid gift for Disney history fans, animation fans, park fans, or that one person in your life who can casually explain the difference between a dark ride and a boat ride while everyone else is just trying to eat chips. view ON AMAZON Art of Coloring: Walt Disney World Sometimes you need to color a picture of Cinderella Castle and pretend the outside world is not currently making printer noises in your brain. Art of Coloring: Walt Disney World includes 100 images inspired by The Most Magical Place on Earth, and it is a fun pick for Disney adults, creative kids, or anyone who needs a cozy little wind-down activity that does not involve another screen. ©Amazon This would also be a great pre-trip activity. You can color while planning park days, arguing with yourself about whether you really need another table service reservation, and slowly accepting that yes, you will probably buy a snack shaped like a character again. view ON AMAZON JoyJolt Disney Mickey Mouse 3D Espresso Cups Tiny coffee cups have no business being this persuasive. The JoyJolt Disney Mickey Mouse 3D Espresso Cups come in a set of two and feature a fun Mickey-inspired design that makes your morning espresso feel more like an event and less like an emergency button for adulthood. JoyJolt Disney Mickey Mouse 3D Glass Cups These would be adorable for espresso, cortados, small cappuccinos, or even tiny desserts if you are the kind of person who plates things nicely instead of eating chocolate chips over the sink. We love both households. They also make a sweet gift for coffee-loving Disney fans, especially the ones who have strong opinions about mugs. And let’s be honest, many of us do. view ON AMAZON Spin Master Games, Meme The Game: Disney Version This is the kind of game that could either bring the family together or reveal who has been holding onto very specific Disney opinions for far too long. Meme The Game: Disney Version is a funny card game for Disney movie fans, and it works well for family game night, parties, rainy afternoons, or those evenings when everyone is too tired to commit to a full board game with 47 rules and a tiny cardboard economy. ©Amazon It is also a great pick for Disney fans who like games that do not require a lengthy tutorial, a sharpened pencil, and someone named Gary reading the rulebook out loud. Toss this in a gift closet, bring it on vacation, or keep it around for your next Disney movie marathon night. view ON AMAZON Disney Beauty and the Beast Earring Set for Women Beauty and the Beast jewelry can get very dramatic very quickly, but this set keeps things wearable. The Disney Beauty and the Beast Tri-Tone Heart Flower Rose 3-Piece Earring Set gives you a few different options, which is great if you like your Disney accessories subtle enough for everyday wear but still charming enough to feel special. ©Amazon This would be a sweet gift for a Beauty and the Beast fan, especially someone who likes smaller jewelry pieces that can rotate through different outfits. It is also a nice option for park outfits when you want a little character detail without wearing a full castle on your head. Not that we are against that. We simply understand luggage limits. view ON AMAZON Disney Lilo & Stitch Crystal & Mother of Pearl Flower Bolo Bracelet Stitch merch has a way of multiplying. You buy one thing, and suddenly your house has blue alien energy in three rooms and a bathroom drawer. This Disney Lilo & Stitch bracelet is a prettier, more polished way to work Stitch into your jewelry collection. The crystal and mother of pearl flower details give it a softer look, so it feels less like theme park souvenir chaos and more like an everyday accessory with a little Disney tucked inside. ©Amazon The bolo style also makes it adjustable, which is always helpful when buying jewelry as a gift. Bracelet sizing can be a little too mysterious for something that should be fun. This would be a great gift for Stitch fans, Lilo & Stitch collectors, or anyone who likes floral jewelry with a little character charm. view ON AMAZON Disney Epic Mickey – Nintendo Wii Now this one is for the Disney fan with a Wii still tucked away somewhere, possibly next to a stack of old games and one remote that absolutely needs new batteries. Disney Epic Mickey for Nintendo Wii is a nostalgic pick for gamers and Disney fans alike. The game leans into a darker, paint-splashed version of Disney storytelling, with Mickey exploring a world full of forgotten characters and creative twists. ©Amazon It is especially fun for fans who love Oswald the Lucky Rabbit, classic Disney animation, or games that feel a little stranger than the standard mascot adventure. The vibes are moody. The paintbrush is important. Mickey is having a time. Since this is an older Wii game, be sure to check the listing condition and seller details before buying. But for collectors or retro Disney gamers, this is a fun one to spot in the Amazon deal pile. view ON AMAZON These Deals May Not Last Long Amazon deals can change fast, especially when Disney items are involved. One minute you are casually browsing, and the next minute the price has shifted, the size you wanted is gone, and your cart is giving you the emotional support stare. So if something here belongs in your home, your gift closet, your coffee station, or your growing collection of Disney things you absolutely meant to “keep reasonable,” now is a good time to check it out. ©Amazon We will keep watching for more Disney deals, park essentials, home finds, and gift-worthy items, because someone has to sort through the endless Amazon scroll. Thankfully, we are nosy, determined, and very good at justifying cute cups. 9. Running out of places to charge your devices is one of the most annoying problems you can have on a Disney World vacation. Flat Plug Power Strip Between phones, MagicBands, portable chargers, smartwatches, earbuds, and tablets, it doesn’t take long to realize that a standard hotel room outlet setup isn’t always enough. That’s why there’s one item we pack on every single Disney World trip, no matter which hotel we’re staying in. If you’re looking for a simple way to make your hotel room more functional and keep all your vacation essentials powered up, this is the item we’d recommend first. DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission. You’re Going to Wish You Packed This on Night One There are few things more frustrating than getting back to your Disney World hotel after a long park day and realizing you don’t have enough outlets for everything that needs charging. Most of us are traveling with multiple devices now. Maybe your phone needs power before tomorrow’s Lightning Lane selections, your MagicBand needs a boost, your portable charger is nearly empty, and your travel companions have devices charging, too. Suddenly, that outlet behind the nightstand becomes very valuable real estate. That’s exactly why we’ve become huge fans of the Flat Plug Power Strip. Flat Plug Power Strip In fact, it’s one of the few extra items that has earned a permanent spot on our Disney packing list. This compact travel-friendly power strip turns a single outlet into three standard outlets, two USB-A ports, and two USB-C ports, allowing you to charge up to seven devices at the same time. The design is especially useful in Disney hotel rooms. The ultra-flat plug sits close against the wall, while the six-foot braided extension cord gives you flexibility when outlets aren’t conveniently located. We also love that it includes USB-C ports, which means fewer charging bricks cluttering up the room. Flat Power Strip Another reason it’s become one of our favorite travel essentials is its compact size. It slips easily into a suitcase, backpack, or carry-on without taking up much space. Since it doesn’t include surge protection, it’s also cruise-friendly if you’re extending your vacation beyond Disney World. After a few trips using it, we found ourselves wondering how we ever traveled without one. Instead of playing outlet roulette every night, everything gets plugged in before bed and is ready to go the next morning. Our Favorite Extension Cord for Disney World Take a look at it before your next Disney vacation. view ON AMAZON When you’re spending long days in the parks, having fully charged devices can make your trip a whole lot easier. A simple packing upgrade like this can eliminate one of those small but surprisingly common vacation headaches. We’re always on the hunt for the latest and greatest Disney souvenirs and essentials, so don’t forget to stay tuned to the Disney Food Blog for more! View the full article

  11. While we are always excited about NEW experiences coming to Disney World, that often means saying goodbye to some old favorites. Westward Ho Piston Peak and Villains Land have resulted in the closure of multiple offerings (some permanent, others temporary, such as the half-closed Walt Disney World Railroad track). Most recently, we saw Big Al’s close in Frontierland, and while Disney hasn’t officially said the closure is permanent, it’s looking like it is. And now, another iconic Frontierland spot has closed to make way for Magic Kingdom changes. As of June 22nd, 2026, Westward Ho in Magic Kingdom’s Frontierland is officially closed. Disney hasn’t made any official announcements about the closure, but when we stopped by, everything was shut down with no indication of reopening anytime soon. It’s also no longer listed on the My Disney Experience app, even when you try to search for it. Westward Ho This is very similar to what we saw happen with Big Al’s — suddenly, no times were showing on the website, and sure enough, the stand closed down that same day. Westward Ho is now closed We’ve already seen one of the dining options unique to this spot, the Candied Bacon Skewer, move to Golden Oak Outpost, and while we’re relieved it’ll still be available, we’re sad to see this spot go. We also have to admit that we’re worried about one of our other favorite eats here, the Mickey-shaped Bacon-Pecan-Caramel Cinnamon Roll! It’s one of our favorites, and we’ll be devastated (no, not an exaggeration) if it doesn’t move elsewhere. That’s some thick bacon! It’s possible that with the opening of Piston Peak in the future, we’ll see the snack stand open back up as something more themed to the new area, but, of course, Disney hasn’t announced anything officially. So, for now, we’ll have to wait and see what ends up happening! ©Disney We’ll be on the lookout for even more Magic Kingdom updates you need to know about. 12. Drinking Around the World at EPCOT sounds adorable in theory. You stroll through World Showcase. You sip a margarita in Mexico, maybe a beer in Germany, a wine flight in Italy, a frozen something-or-other in France, and suddenly you are very cultured, very sunburned, and very confident you can still make your Guardians of the Galaxy Lightning Lane. EPCOT This is where EPCOT quietly sharpens a butter knife behind its back. Drinking Around the World can be a legitimately fun Disney World tradition. It can also become expensive, exhausting, sweaty, and deeply unpleasant if you treat it like a quest from a party wizard instead of a full theme park day. So here is the warning, and we are saying it with love, hydration, and probably a pretzel in hand. DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission. Vacation does not mean consequences packed their little suitcase and stayed home. The Real Problem Is Pace The mistake most people make is not one margarita. It is one margarita, then one beer, then one cocktail, then one festival drink, then “let’s just split this,” then “well, we’re already in Japan,” then somebody is sitting on a curb outside the America pavilion trying to remember their hotel name. Rosemary Margarita from La Cava del Tequila World Showcase has 11 country pavilions. If your plan is to have a full drink in every single one, you are not casually sipping. You are committing to a marathon while surrounded by Florida heat, long walks, ride reservations, fireworks crowds, and very expensive snack temptations. Greece Wine Flight from Food & Wine Festival That is not impossible for everyone, but it is a terrible idea for a lot of people. A better plan? Decide your limit before you start. Pick your must-do drinks, skip the ones you are only ordering because “we’re doing the thing,” and build in non-alcoholic breaks. One drink per country is not a requirement. Mickey is not standing in Canada with a clipboard. Ignore the Haters and Do This First in EPCOT Share The Drink Sharing is the quiet genius move here. Splitting drinks lets you taste more without committing your entire stomach, budget, and bloodstream to the project. It also keeps you from hitting the dreaded third-country wall, where your body realizes the “fun little cocktail tour” is actually a sugar-and-liquor obstacle course. Guinness This is especially helpful during EPCOT festivals, when you may want to try limited-time drinks from the booths. A few sips of something interesting? Great. A full pour of every neon slushy that winks at you from a menu board? That is how the afternoon starts wearing a tiny villain cape. Sharing also saves money, and EPCOT drinks are not exactly priced like someone is passing around a church basement punch bowl. If you are traveling with a group, order one or two drinks at a stop, pass them around, and move on. You will still get the experience without waking up the next morning wondering why your credit card is quietly smoking. Eat Like You Mean It You cannot drink around EPCOT on vibes and a single Mickey waffle from six hours ago. Snacks are not optional here. They are infrastructure. They are tiny edible guardrails. Get actual food into the day, not just three bites of popcorn and whatever lime wedge came with your margarita. Good EPCOT drinking snacks include pretzels in Germany, chips and guac in Mexico, fish and chips in the U.K., a slice from Via Napoli or Pizza al Taglio if you can make it happen, or festival booth dishes that include protein and carbs instead of just sugar wearing a cute costume. Jumbo Pretzel And yes, this is also where we remind you that Disney adults are allowed to stop and sit down. Revolutionary, I know. Grab a table. Find air conditioning. Let your body process the fact that you have been walking on hot pavement while drinking tequila out of a plastic cup. The trash-can-table lifestyle has its place. But if you are doing a long EPCOT day with alcohol involved, an actual chair can become a religious experience. I Just Tried 14 NEW Disney World Snacks and I’m Sharing the 4 I’d Eat Again and Again Your Water Bottle Is Not Decorative Water is the unglamorous hero of the day. Bring a refillable water bottle and use it. Ask for cups of water. Take water breaks between drinks. Add electrolytes if that helps you actually drink the water instead of just carrying it around like a hydration-themed accessory. And no, iced coffee does not count as water just because the ice was emotionally present. Little Mermaid Owala A good rule is to alternate. Drink, then water. Drink, then water. Snack, then water. Ride Living with the Land, then water. Actually, ride Living with the Land at any point. She is an attraction queen and she supports responsible hydration. This is especially important if you are visiting in the hotter months. EPCOT does not have to be 100 degrees to wear you down. Heat, humidity, alcohol, and thousands of steps can turn a fun day into a floppy little disaster faster than you think. view ON AMAZON Beware The Sugary Drinks Sugary drinks sneak up on people. They taste fun. They photograph well. They make you say things like, “This doesn’t even taste strong,” which is a sentence known to summon consequences from the bushes. Grand Marnier Slush Frozen drinks, sweet cocktails, festival sippers, and colorful concoctions can be delicious, but they are also filling. They can make your stomach feel overwhelmed by mid-afternoon. And if you stack several sweet drinks in a row, tomorrow-you may not be thrilled with today-you. Pick one or two sugary drinks you actually care about, then move on. You do not need to audition for the role of Human Dole Whip With Regrets. REVIEW: Grand Marnier Orange Slush at Les Vins Des Chefs Des France in EPCOT! Do Not Outrun The Heat There is something about EPCOT that tricks people into acting like the park is smaller than it is. World Showcase is a full loop. Add festival booths, bathroom breaks, rides, a stroll through The Land pavilion, a detour for merchandise, and one accidental lap because somebody swore France was “just right there,” and suddenly your step count looks like you are training for something with a bib number. Now add alcohol. Grab a seat Heat can make you feel worse faster, and alcohol does not help your body regulate the situation. Take shade seriously. Take air conditioning seriously. Take “I need to sit down for 20 minutes” seriously. Some good reset spots include The American Adventure, The Seas pavilion, Spaceship Earth, Living with the Land, Gran Fiesta Tour, or any lounge or restaurant where you can sit, breathe, and remember that you paid a lot of money to enjoy this park, not to speedrun discomfort. When I Need To Escape The Chaos of EPCOT, I Go Here Bring A Sober Buddy This does not have to be dramatic. A sober buddy can be someone who is not drinking, someone who is drinking very lightly, or someone in the group who is responsible enough to say, “We are done ordering alcohol for a while, and we are going to eat something now.” That person is valuable. Protect them. Buy them a snack. Let them choose the next ride. Chip and Dale Disney World feels safe because it is well-run, clean, bright, and full of families. But it is still a massive place full of crowds, transportation logistics, parking lots, strangers, and long distances. You still need to know where your group is. You still need to get back to your hotel safely. You still need to avoid becoming the person a Cast Member has to manage because “vacation mode” diluted your judgment one sip at a time. Fun is great. Safe fun is better. Safe fun with snacks is elite. The 9 Worst People You’ll Meet In Disney World Use Disney Transportation Or A Ride Share Please do not drink and drive. Use Disney transportation, take a ride share, book a Minnie Van if that makes sense for your group, or make sure your designated driver is actually designated and not “the person who only had two because they were bigger cups but mostly ice.” If you are staying at a Disney World hotel, transportation can be one of the biggest perks of the day. Buses, boats, monorails, and the Skyliner exist so you do not have to do math in the EPCOT parking lot while wearing damp park shoes and clutching a crumpled festival passport. World Showcase Lagoon Plan your route back before you start drinking. Know whether you are heading to the front of EPCOT for buses or monorail, or out the International Gateway for Skyliner, boats, BoardWalk-area resorts, or ride share. Future-you deserves a clean exit plan. Walt Disney World Skyliner Gondola Transportation System Pack The Tiny Apology Kit We are not saying you are going to overdo it. We are saying your park bag can contain a few small items for the version of you who looked at a frozen cocktail and heard a tiny trumpet. A few useful things to pack or keep in your hotel room include hydration packets, headache relief, stomach support, and something bland to eat the next morning. Nothing is a magic cure, but having supplies ready can make the difference between “I need a slow morning” and “I have become furniture.” Alka-Seltzer Hangover Relief Effervescent Tablets These are easy to toss in a travel bag and can be helpful if your next morning starts with a foghorn behind your eyeballs. ©Amazon Just make sure you read the label and follow the directions. These contain aspirin and caffeine, which may not be right for everyone, especially if you have certain medical conditions, take certain medications, have stomach issues, or have been told to avoid aspirin or NSAIDs. In other words, do not treat them like fizzy fairy dust. Treat them like medicine. view ON AMAZON Goody’s Hangover Relief Powder Goody’s Hangover Relief Powder is another compact option for the hotel room, especially because the packets do not take up much space. ©Amazon Same warning applies here. Read the label. Follow the directions. It contains aspirin and caffeine, so make sure that works for you before you rely on it. The goal is to help your future self, not create a second problem chasing after you on your vacation. view ON AMAZON Liquid I.V. Hydration Multiplier Liquid I.V. Hydration Multiplier is one of those things we like to keep around for hot park days in general, not just drinking days. ©Amazon Mix it with water, drink it before you feel like a raisin in Mickey ears, and use it as part of an overall hydration plan. It is especially handy if plain water does not inspire you and you need a little flavor to convince yourself to keep sipping. Again, this is not a permission slip to drink recklessly. It is a tool. The castle is not held together by Liquid I.V. packets and optimism. view ON AMAZON The Best Drinking Around The World Strategy The best version of Drinking Around the World is not the version where you technically finish all 11 countries and then lose the rest of your night. It is the version where you enjoy the drinks you actually wanted, share the ones that are more about curiosity, eat real food, drink water, take breaks, stay cool, and get back to your hotel safely. Schōnauer Apfel Liqueur You can still wear the matching shirts. You can still take the photos. You can still have the margarita. You can still be a little ridiculous, because EPCOT invites a certain level of nonsense and we respect the institution. But do not let an unofficial challenge flatten your expensive Disney day into a cautionary tale. Cheers! Drink less than you think you can. Snack more than you think you need. Share whenever possible. Hydrate like it is your job. And for the love of Figment, do not drive after drinking. 15. We don’t know about you, but if you ask us, saving money on a Disney World trip can make the vacation even BETTER! That’s why we’re always on the hunt for the latest discounts and deals you need to know about. Tinker Bell Ticket Disney World previously released a TON of discounts for the summer, including ticket discounts, hotel deals, and a whole lot more. In addition, Disney introduced a new afternoon ticket deal — but if you want to take advantage of it, time is running out! Disney World is currently offering discounted tickets for the theme parks if you visit them after 2 PM. The ticket covers all four parks, so you can pick one with your ticket (you can even use it to go to Magic Kingdom!!). The discount is available for a 2-day or 3-day ticket with admission to one park per day after 2 PM, which is valid for dates from May 26th through July 29th. That means you only have around one month left to purchase and use these tickets! Animal Kingdom Pricing for the tickets depends on the start day, but a 2-day ticket will run anywhere from $118 per day to $156 per day. The cheapest dates are from mid-July through the end of that month. A 3-day ticket will run anywhere from $116 per day to $154 per day, with late July offering the lowest prices. This is a discount of around $30 to $50 per day from the standard all-day ticket. EPCOT This ticket deal, combined with one of Disney World’s hotel deals, could save you a lot of money on your summer trip, especially if you’re okay only spending about half a day at the theme parks. You’ll also have to make sure you make Lightning Lane selections for after 2 PM each day if you make those in advance. Toy Story Land at Hollywood Studios To get the most out of a normal park ticket, you’ll likely want to get there early and go from open to close, which is pretty dang exhausting. This is also great for parents who know their kids can’t handle a full day in the parks yet, and you can start your morning with a relaxing breakfast at the resort, check out the pool or water parks, or even just sleep in. We love having more flexibility with our tickets! Big Thunder Mountain Railroad Don’t want to go through all of the stress of booking your Disney World trip alone? It’s wild to think that a brand-new Disney theme park was made so recently, but sure enough, the resort has hit this major milestone and is celebrating in style. ©Disney The park has since welcomed over 100 million guests from around the world, and something that makes it so special is being “authentically Disney and distinctly Chinese.” Are you ready to celebrate? Shanghai Disney is the newest Disney theme park in the world and officially opened on June 16th, 2016. To celebrate, everyone went all out! They hosted an anniversary gala at the Enchanted Storybook Castle to celebrate all the Cast Members and anyone who helped make this park special. ©Disney CEO of the Walt Disney Company, Josh D’Amaro, spoke at the event and said, “When we opened these gates, we believed we could create something the world had never seen — a place where Disney storytelling met Chinese culture in a way that was genuinely new. More than one hundred million guest visits later, Shanghai Disney Resort stands as one of the company’s proudest achievements. As we celebrate the park’s first decade and look to its next, what excited me most was that we’re just getting started.” ©Disney Just getting started is right. There are two new hotels coming to the resort, including one called the Shanghai Disney Enchanted Star Hotel, and they will be adjacent to the existing Shanghai Disneyland Hotel. The other one will be steps away from the main entrance of the park. ©Disney There’s also a whole Spider-Man land coming with a super cool roller coaster that we’re pretty thrilled about. ©Disney Make sure you keep following Disney Food Blog for more updates on your favorite Disney Parks so you can plan the best vacation yet. 18. Heading to Disney’s Hollywood Studios and hoping to be an early bird? We’ve got you covered! Slinky Dog Dash at Disney’s Hollywood Studios This park is filled with SO MANY popular attractions, and it’s going to be a bit of a challenge to get them all done in one day (particularly if you don’t use Lightning Lanes). But if you can stomach an early morning in the park, you’ll set yourself up for success. We’re telling you where to go at rope drop…with maps! What IS Rope Drop? Before we kick off this list, we’ve got to chat about rope drop itself. “Rope drop” is the term used to describe the moment when the parks open for the day — it used to involve Cast Members literally dropping a rope to open parks or lands. Nowadays, rope drop is known as the strategy of arriving at the parks before they open in order to get the shortest ride waits possible. Rope Drop in Hollywood Studios In order to truly rope drop the park, we recommend arriving 30-60 minutes before Early Theme Park Entry begins (which starts each day 30 minutes before the park’s official opening time). Make sure you allow enough time for transportation to the park and to get through security when you arrive. If you have a good rope drop strategy when the park opens and you’re near the front of the crowd, you can realistically knock out at least 2-3 rides in the first few hours of the day with much shorter waits. Rise of the Resistance Perhaps the most popular ride that people will rope drop is Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance. This attraction can get a long wait because of its cool technology and popular IP. If you want to do this ride first thing in the morning, you’ll want to turn to the left once you get down Hollywood Boulevard and go past Echo Lake to enter Galaxy’s Edge. Going to Rise of the Resistance Choosing this attraction to rope drop means that you’ll likely be in some of the biggest crowds. Rise of the Resistance is also the park’s Lightning Lane Single Pass option, so it gets many rope droppers who don’t want to pay for the extra Lightning Lane or who didn’t purchase access before the Lightning Lane sold out. Rise of the Resistance We usually find that the wait time for Rise of the Resistance drops later in the day, so it’s not usually our recommended choice of rope drop strategy. Also, this ride tends to have frequent downtime or delayed openings, so if there’s an issue, you risk losing valuable time at rope drop. See Our Guide to Galaxy’s Edge Here! Slinky Dog Dash Another common rope drop option is Slinky Dog Dash in Toy Story Land. This ride has historically been the most popular of the Lightning Lane Multi Pass options in Hollywood Studios. To get in line for this ride, you’ll head to the right past the Chinese Theater, then follow the pathway to Toy Story Land. Slinky Dog Dash is located about halfway through the land on the right side. To Slinky Dog! Slinky Dog Dash pretty consistently has a long line all day, and it’s subject to weather-related closures that can make the wait time even longer when it reopens. The Lightning Lane for this ride is notoriously hard to snag, so if you can’t get one before your park day, Slinky Dog Dash makes a decent contender for rope drop. Toy Story Land If you head to Slinky Dog Dash first thing, you’ll also be able to avoid waiting in its outdoor queue during the hottest part of the day. It’s a win/win! Here’s Our Guide to Toy Story Land! Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets The third big choice for rope drop these days is Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets. This coaster was recently revamped to feature The Muppets and got an all-new queue, pre-show, and ride backstory. Since it opened at the end of May 2026, it has been VERY popular. Heading to the coaster! To get to this ride at rope drop, you’ll turn right down Sunset Boulevard just past the Starbucks on Hollywood Boulevard. Go to the end of Sunset Boulevard and turn left under the Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster sign. The Sunset Boulevard route used to be the least popular (and thus a very good rope drop choice), but it has become very busy since the coaster update. Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Since this ride is still new, its Lightning Lane Multi Pass reservations have been booking up quickly as well. It has a single rider queue that you can use, but we’ve found it to be iffy on reliability for getting you a shorter wait time. If this is a must-do during your visit, rope dropping could be the best choice. We’re Answering Your Biggest Questions About This New Ride Here! Tips for Early Theme Park Entry Now that we’ve covered the big three, let’s talk about strategy! If you’re a Disney Resort guest, you’ll get Early Theme Park Entry, which allows you to enter the park and start doing rides 30 minutes before other guests. As we mentioned above, it’s a good idea to arrive 30-60 minutes before Early Theme Park Entry starts so you can be among the first in line. Since you’ve only got 30 minutes, you’ve got to make the most of it! Let’s ride Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster! For Early Theme Park Entry, we recommend either going the Slinky Dog Dash or Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster route. Rise of the Resistance is a very long attraction that will eat up nearly your entire window, even if you’re first in line. If you do Slinky Dog first, you can hit up Toy Story Mania immediately after. If you do Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster first, we recommend going next door to Tower of Terror for your second attraction. Another good “secondary” attraction choice for either ride would be Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway — it can get a moderately long line during the day. Tips for Regular Guests If you are not staying at a Disney Resort and do NOT have Early Theme Park Entry, the hotel guests are going to beat you to those “big three” rides. If one of them is an absolute must-do, can’t-miss for your group, then head there and do it first thing when the park opens. If not, we recommend hitting up what we’ll call the “secondary tier” — the attractions that aren’t quite popular enough to be in the big three but still get long lines. Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway This list includes Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway, Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run (especially since it got the makeover for The Mandalorian and Grogu), Tower of Terror, and Toy Story Mania. These rides will start to get more popular in the morning as the Early Theme Park Entry folks finish the big three and get in line for their secondary choices, but you might be able to beat them to these rides for the first wave. Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run So there you go — that’s our full rope drop strategy for Disney’s Hollywood Studios! Whatever you do, do NOT rope drop Star Tours. Trust us, it’ll have a 10-minute wait at some point later in the day and you’ll kick yourself. Use your rope drop time wisely! 23. From Lightning Lanes, showtimes, and Mobile Order to merchandise checkout, dining reservations, and walk-up waitlists, the Walt Disney World app has become an integral part of a Disney World vacation over the last decade. Magic Kingdom Now, Disney has announced a series of updates to their app system that guests visiting the “Most Magical Place on Earth” need to be aware of. Weather Check Disney and AccuWeather are teaming up to launch the Disney Weather Check powered by the AccuWeather mobile app.” This new app addition allows access to real-time weather updates and location-specific notifications. The integration is available to those visiting Walt Disney World Resort, Disneyland Resort, Aulani, a Disney Resort and Spa, Disney’s Vero Beach Resort, and Disney’s Hilton Head Island Resort. Rainy Day in Magic Kingdom AccuWeather states that the features of the Disney Weather Check include the following: Geo-Fenced Experiences within Disney properties, which activate Disney Weather Check features within the AccuWeather App. Guests receive enhanced, location-specific weather intelligence, aligned with Disney employee alerts, warnings, and advisories used to initiate uniform safety protocols. Custom Hourly Forecast providing specific hourly forecast for Walt Disney World Resort, Disneyland Resort, Aulani, a Disney Resort and Spa, Disney’s Vero Beach Resort, and Disney’s Hilton Head Island Resort, including real-time weather to support informed decision making and enhanced guest safety. AccuWeather MinuteCast provides a hyperlocal forecast of precipitation type and intensity, as well as precise start and end times for rain or snow weather over the upcoming four hours, pinpointed to a person’s exact GPS location. AccuWeather RealFeel® Temperature is the only index that considers more than temperature, plus one additional variable. It is based on 14 factors, which are more precise than other sources, including the impact of sunshine intensity, wind speed, humidity, and air density. UV Index with the greatest accuracy and detail available from any source; highly localized UV indices and forecasts provide enhanced protection from UV exposure by allowing users to track their UV exposure hour-by-hour, down to the tenths of a unit. Easier Searching The app’s search feature will be improved via AI, which will allow guests to interact with it using conversational tones and wording, as opposed to simply typing in searchable keywords. This can be especially helpful for first-time guests who may not be explicitly familiar with official names and terminology. Slinky Dog Dash in Hollywood Studios Consolidation Disney combined the “Today’s Plans” and “Future Plans” into a single “My Plans” section, made it possible to book park pass reservations directly within the app, updated the dining reservations search so that it’s easier to find a restaurant and make a reservation, and streamlined the process of checking into your hotel via the app, all of which has led to a cleaner app experience. ©Disney Easier Navigation An upcoming redesign of the app’s homepage will make it easier to find information like trip details, reservations, travel parties, and planning reminders. Speaking of dining reservations, when making them, be sure to use our Guide to Disney World Dining, which pulls it all together so you can stop stressing and focus on the fun without feeling like you’re missing a thing! EPCOT Even More (Mobile) Magic iPhone users could already store their Disney tickets in their Apple Wallet. Once the iOS 27 update is released this fall, this feature is going to get so much better! Guests with iPhones will also be able to see their daily itinerary directly in their Apple Wallet, including the ability to view park reservations over the course of their trip, Lightning Lane redemptions, specialty ticketed events, and dining reservations. This new feature will allow for everything on your Disney vacation to be more organized and give you more time to enjoy your vacation, with everything you need available right in your Apple Wallet. Our Apple Wallet screenshot when our MagicMobile pass was scanned. Voila! A Fresh Coat of Paint Finally, this may be the least technologically impressive change, but it’s definitely the prettiest as the in-app icon for Cinderella Castle has been changed to reflect its now complete makeover to its new – – old – – color scheme. ©Disney A multitude of changes and improvements are rolling out for Walt Disney World’s integral mobile app infrastructure. 24. Disney World is changing daily these days. Lately, it feels like the parks are entirely new places thanks to updates like Villains Land, Piston Peak, Monsters Inc. Land, and more major changes. EPCOT Each week, Disney likes to surprise us with changes, news, updates, and more at Disney World and throughout the rest of the company! That’s why we like to do a weekly wrap-up of the biggest news so you don’t miss a single thing. Let’s dive into this week’s latest and greatest Disney news. This week surprised us with some major announcements — some good and some not so good! You’re gonna want to lock in on these news updates, especially the third one. Major Changes Coming to the Boardwalk Inn and Resort The Boardwalk Inn is continuing its overhaul! Over the last few years, this Disney hotel has changed quite a bit thanks to the new rooms, pool retheme, and the new restaurants. Now, even more changes are coming! This week, Disney confirmed the resort will be getting a new spot called Hurly-Burly! Disney has said the spot will “welcome guests for fun-filled afternoons and glamorous evenings inside a historic seaside theatre with a vibrant BoardWalk story that spans over a century.” ©Disney During the day, it will have fun family activities, and at night it will be a 21 and older spot with live entertainment, coastal-inspired cocktails, and light bites. Next, Disney also confirmed Basin at the Boardwalk will be popping up soon! This new store will have a curated collection of handcrafted products made with quality ingredients, including natural soaps, botanical bath salts, bath bombs, body butters, lip salves, shampoo and conditioner bars, and more. This will be in addition to the Basin stores in Disney Springs and Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort. ©Disney Finally, Disney also confirmed that a brand-new quick service will be coming to the Boardwalk! They didn’t give us too much to chew on, but they did say they will share more later this summer. This is huge for the resort, and we can’t wait to see what they will reveal when we get closer to its opening. Disney World Just Dropped 3 MASSIVE Announcements Food and Wine Festival Details Revealed Over in EPCOT, it’s almost time for the International Food and Wine Festival! As we eagerly await menus, Disney has finally given us some new details about the popular event. The 2026 EPCOT Food and Wine Festival will run from August 27th through November 21st, 2026, and we finally know who will be rocking Eat to the Beat! If you don’t know, this is a seriously popular event that was missing for a few years and finally returned last year! This gives guests a taste of a traditional French breakfast at the pre-paid buffet. Mimosa at Parisian Breakfast Both of these announcements are a BIG hint that menus could be coming soon for the festival. We can’t wait for more details, hopefully soon! The PERFECT Way To Start Your EPCOT Food & Wine Festival Day Is Coming BACK Major Transportation Updates Finally, one of the biggest pieces of news this week is a bittersweet update. This past spring, Disney Springs started a new rule where guests using the bus system had to have a dining or hotel reservation for the resort they were going to. This was in place during the holidays for crowd control purposes, but now it seems like that rule is permanent, and it has been extended to boat transportation as well. Rule change The rule change goes into effect on June 28th, so resort hopping might become a thing of the past for those staying off property, depending on whether this rule becomes stricter. Transportation will still be available from Disney Springs, but you will need to show proof of a hotel or restaurant reservation to get on the bus or boat. For now, if you want to check out the hotels without a hotel or dining reservation, you will need to park at the theme parks and travel from there. Guest Relations Cast Member at Disney Springs This rule is likely due to crowds and transportation demands. Disney has confirmed through Cast Members that the rule is permanent at the time of writing. A Disney Springs Transportation Rule Is Coming Back — And You’re Not Going To Like It There was SO much that went on in Disney World this week, and they weren’t small changes either! These new changes will impact guests for years to come. As always, be sure to keep following DisneyFoodBlog for more Disney news, updates, and more. 3 Changes Coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios Next Month Join the DFB Newsletter to get all the breaking news right in your inbox!
