  1. If it seems like everything in Disney World is changing, well, it IS. There’s SO much going on right now. The parks are getting new lands, new rides, expansions, you name it. New shops and experiences are coming to Disney Springs. Even Disney World hotels are getting updates, but one recent construction project has Disney World fans talking…LOUDLY. New Royal Rooms at Disney’s Port Orleans — Riverside Disney’s Port Orleans Resort — Riverside just updated its Royal Rooms, and let’s just say when we posted photos of the new rooms, our readers had some SERIOUS OPINIONS. So let’s talk about how many of you feel about this recent hotel room change. Let’s take a look at this room change. Here are what the rooms looked like before they were updated. As you can see, there’s a lot of character and heavy theming. Royal Rooms at Disney’s Port Orleans — Riverside Here’s what the new rooms look like. As you can see, this is a HUGE difference. Royal Room Well, we asked you, our readers, to tell us what you think about the rooms, and let’s just say, you had some SERIOUS opinions. Overall, most of the feedback about the rooms is negative, and it seems many Disney fans just don’t like what one of our Instagram followers, @lexielehr, wrote “Beigification [sic] strikes again.” And, well, yes, the new rooms are very…beige. It’s not ALL beige, though Instagram user @tenpointstogripentrog wrote, “looks like a revamped All Star room.” Ouch. Meanwhile, @jchrdz88 commented, “They really be out there taking the magic out of everything .” Reader @rebeccadopp14 didn’t mince words and said, “Wish I could have stayed there BEFORE. They have ruined it. They have a really bad decorator/designer. Needs to be fired.” Instagram user @heatherpoland13 just said, “A tragedy.” The bathroom Others agreed, including @masterchristian2004, who simply wrote, “What a disaster.” Many complained about the room losing its theming, like @jeffhammphoto, who commented, “Good job Disney at taking the theming out of yet another hotel space. So glad we were able to stay in the actual royal rooms last year before they took them away like this.” The original rooms had a headboard with “fireworks,” and many of you are sad to see it go. Over on Facebook, Jessie commented, “ I always wanted to stay here because of that headboard detail!! The fan is a nice touch but can Disney please get out of the millennial gray area and go back to being magical. [sic]” Another view of the whole room Melinda said, “They had so much more character before. Now they look like almost every other room on property. I’m glad I stayed in one when I did.” Andrea wrote, “I am definitely a part of the ‘before’ crowd. They were absolutely gorgeous! The Royal Rooms were the one room I had on my bucket list to stay in and now I am not even interested. “ Karlie commented, “No one wants to pay premium prices for normal hotel rooms- they were so magical before!!” Judy said, “No, they took away the fairytale feel. Now it just looks like a standard, impersonal hotel room.” The bathroom door when closed However, there were some of you who liked the new rooms. Tricia commented, “I wasn’t sure about the new design at first, but in person it is so nice! The rooms now have so much more storage than before as well. Very happy with the change.” Carla wrote, “After. duh!! the before is dark and dirty looking! I also hate carpet with a passion. it just breeds filth.” Instagram user @rulonk621 commented, “I personally love all of the ‘modernization’ of the renovated rooms (at all resorts) but I know people think they are too bland so I’m probably in the minority!” The fireflies! We will say, though, that overall, many of you really hate the new rooms, and we get it. It’s certainly a huge change, after all. Want to follow discussions like this? 2. If you have ever stood in the middle of a Disney park digging through your Loungefly for one specific item, you already know the struggle. The thing you need is always in there somewhere. Unfortunately, it is usually hiding underneath a portable charger, a pair of sunglasses, three park maps you forgot to throw away, and a snack you packed six hours ago. ©Loungefly For a bag that is designed to carry just the essentials, a Loungefly can become surprisingly chaotic by lunchtime. DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission. The problem with Loungefly bags is not that they are too small. Honestly, they hold more than they look like they should. The problem is that most mini backpacks are basically one cute little cave. You toss things in with confidence in the morning, and by lunch you are digging around for your FuelRod like you are panning for gold in Frontierland. Loungefly organizer That is why this Mini Backpack Organizer Insert Small Shoulder Bag Divider for Rucksack Purse Lightweight Nylon might be one of the best little upgrades you can make to your Disney park bag. It is simple. It is inexpensive. It is not flashy. But neither is a poncho until the sky starts making threats over Fantasyland. view ON AMAZON Mini Backpack Organizer Insert Small Shoulder Bag Divider for Rucksack Purse Lightweight Nylon A Loungefly mini backpack is adorable, but it does not always come ready for battle. And by battle, I mean a full Disney World day involving mobile orders, Lightning Lane return windows, a sunscreen reapplication crisis, and someone asking where the hand sanitizer is while you are actively holding a Mickey pretzel. This backpack organizer insert gives your bag structure and pockets, which sounds boring until you realize “boring” is exactly what you want when you are trying to find your lip balm before your mouth turns into a Haunted Mansion cobweb. You can bring snacks in your park bag. Instead of letting everything tumble into one big pocket of chaos, this insert gives you sections for the things you actually reach for all day. Your portable charger can have a spot. Your hand sanitizer can have a spot. Your sunglasses, gum, mints, medicine, wallet, keys, tissues, sunscreen stick, and tiny snack stash can all stop forming a little committee at the bottom of your bag. HOYOFO Mini Backpack Organizer And because it is lightweight nylon, it is not adding a bunch of unnecessary bulk. That is important because a Loungefly already sits in that sweet spot between “cute accessory” and “small backpack that will absolutely remind you it exists after six hours in July.” This is also a great option if you rotate between multiple Loungefly bags. Maybe you have your classic Mickey bag for Magic Kingdom, your Halloween bag for spooky season, your Star Wars bag for Hollywood Studios, and your “this matches my outfit so do not question it” bag for everything else. Instead of unpacking and repacking every single tiny item, you can lift the organizer out and drop it into the next bag. That alone is worth the price. Bag Organizer It also helps protect the inside of your bag from the usual suspects. Loose pens. Melt-adjacent snacks. Receipts with sunscreen on them. A half-open pack of gum that has decided to become abstract art. The organizer creates a little buffer between your bag lining and the nonsense of a normal Disney day. Will it make your Loungefly hold a full water bottle, a hoodie, three popcorn buckets, and the emotional weight of realizing your vacation is almost over? No. We are organizing a mini backpack here, not constructing a portal. But for the items you genuinely need in the parks, this little insert can make your bag feel much more functional. It is especially helpful for people who like Loungefly bags but hate rummaging. And really, who enjoys rummaging? Rummaging is what happens when the bag has won. HOYOFO Mini Backpack Organizer This also makes sense for parents who carry a “just in case” bag, adults who like to be prepared without hauling a full hiking backpack into Adventureland, and anyone who has ever missed a photo moment because their sunglasses were trapped under a portable fan, a granola bar, and a receipt from 2022. The real magic here is not that it changes the look of your Loungefly. It changes how annoying your Loungefly is to use. That is a deeply underrated category of magic. Because the bag can still be cute. It can still match your outfit. It can still make strangers say, “Wait, where did you get that?” But now it can also behave like it has a job. And for around $15, that is a pretty great upgrade. A lot of Disney accessories are fun because they are loud, sparkly, collectible, or aggressively adorable. This one is fun because it solves a problem you have probably been quietly tolerating for years. It is the bag equivalent of finally putting a junk drawer organizer in the kitchen and realizing you did not have to live that way. HOYOFO Mini Backpack Organizer So, if you love your Loungefly but wish it came with a tiny filing system inside, this backpack organizer insert is worth a look. Your lip balm deserves a home. Your charger deserves a home. Your sanity deserves a home. And your Loungefly deserves to be more than a beautiful little pit of despair. view ON AMAZON Final Thoughts The Mini Backpack Organizer Insert Small Shoulder Bag Divider for Rucksack Purse Lightweight Nylon is not the flashiest Disney accessory you will buy, but it might be one of the most useful. For around $15, it can make your Loungefly easier to pack, easier to search, and easier to swap between bags. That is a small upgrade with a big “why didn’t I do this sooner?” payoff. 4. Airport security is evolving yet again. MCO TSA Precheck Getting through airport security is one of the least fun parts of air travel. Often, you’re forced to deal with long lines, crowded terminals, and navigation confusion that can make getting through the checkpoint a real pain. However, over the past couple of years, we’ve seen the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) change protocol significantly and even test brand-new options, like this NEW offering on the East Coast of the United States. On June 1st, TSA officially launched a first-of-its-kind remote screening pilot program at Boston Logan International Airport. This new initiative is designed to give travelers an alternative to heading directly to the airport for check-in and security screening. ©Massport Eligible passengers flying on select JetBlue and Delta flights departing Boston Logan between 5:30 AM and 4 PM can complete the entire security process at a remote location in Framingham, Massachusetts, before boarding a shuttle that’ll take them directly to their terminal. These passengers can drive to the Framingham remote screening facility (30 to 45 minutes from Logan International), check in for their flight, complete the security screening, and then take the shuttle to their Boston terminal. ©Massport Ideally, the purpose of this service is to bypass terminal traffic, crowded checkpoints, and the need for airport parking. In a statement, TSA Senior Official Performing the Duties of the Acting Administrator Ha Nguyen McNeill said, “This pilot program is all about creating options for our travelers.” Tickets for the Framingham remote screening experience are on sale at massport.com for $9, and children under 18 can board the bus for free when traveling with a ticketed adult. Parking at the Framingham location costs $7 per day — which is significantly cheaper than parking at the airport in Boston. ©Massport Other remote screening locations can be found at Los Angeles, Atlanta, and JFK (New York) International Airports. It’s likely the TSA will try to expand these services to more airports in the near future. If you’re flying through Boston Logan and meet the eligibility requirements, this may be one airport shortcut worth trying. In the meantime, we’ll continue keeping an eye on all the TSA security and air travel changes happening this year and beyond, so make sure you keep it posted right here at DFB for all the latest updates! 3 Rules TSA PreCheck Is Enforcing in 2026 DON'T DO IT ALONE! 5. Lin-Manuel Miranda is back for another Disney movie! ©Disney Disney just posted a YouTube video teasing that there will be a brand-new song in the live-action Moana, and it’s written by none other than Lin-Manuel Miranda. The movie is less than a month away from releasing in theatres, and this news is getting us more excited. Moana and Maui are embarking on their adventure to restore the heart of Te Fiti this summer, as the live-action Moana movie releases to theatres on July 10th. We’re super intrigued to see the retelling of one of Disney’s most beloved movies of all time, and now we’re even more intrigued after hearing this news. ©Disney Lin-Manuel Miranda has put together a brand-new song just for this movie. Yes, one we’ve never heard before in the animated Moana. The new song is called “Along the Way“, and we’re warning you, it is CATCHY! ©Disney The goal with this new song was to make something distinct for this new film. Something to separate the animated movie from the live-action one. What really makes this new song special is that BOTH Moanas are going to be singing it. That’s right, Auli’i Cravalho (Moana 2016) and Catherine Laga’aia (Moana 2026) are singing this song together. ©Disney The song symbolizes Moana finding herself on her journey. Auli’i, who is the executive producer of the new Moana film, will be singing as Moana once again. Her Moana will be having a musical conversation with Catherine’s Moana. ©Disney Auli’i described the experience as passing the baton over to Catherine, as she embraces the Disney princess. Dwayne Johnson had a great time with this experience as he got to sing with his new co-star, as well as his previous co-star. Check out the video Disney posted below! We’re looking forward to seeing the movie when it hits theatres on July 10th! For more Disney news and updates, make sure to follow us at the Disney Food Blog. 7. There’s SO much to do in Disney World with SO little time to do so, which means you could be missing out on key things! Partners Statue at Cinderella Castle Magic Kingdom has the most attractions of any park, which also means the most wait times! And there’s so much more to the park than attractions, so what should you put on your priority list during your trip to Magic Kingdom? Here are three things I wish I had known before leaving Magic Kingdom! You Can Get in Line for Rides One Minute BEFORE the Park Closes There are A LOT of attractions at Magic Kingdom, so it’s hard to get them all done in one day, especially because there are a number of popular attractions at this park like Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, TRON Lightcycle / Run, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, and Haunted Mansion. At the end of the night, their wait times can be lower, but it often looks like there’s not enough time to ride them without getting cut off in line before the park closes. TRON Lightcycle / Run But here’s a hack you need to know — you can get in line up to ONE MINUTE before the park closes and still be able to ride! And the wait might actually be lower than posted because guests won’t be going through the Lightning Lane anymore. So, this is a great time to ride those e-ticket attractions since it will most likely be the shortest wait of the whole day. I’ve Tried Every Ride Hack in Magic Kingdom, And I’m Sharing the 5 That Work Every Time Shopping on Main Street, U.S.A. Closes After the Park One of the best ways to get the most out of your day at Magic Kingdom is to save your shopping until AFTER the park is officially closed for the night! Why? Because Magic Kingdom’s biggest store stays open an hour after park closing! Emporium in Disney World The Emporium and other select shops on Main Street, U.S.A. tend to stay open later than the park itself! So instead of using your valuable time to do your shopping during your park day, you can save it for the end. The Emporium is the largest store in Magic Kingdom, so it’s home to almost every souvenir you can think of — apparel, pins, bags, stuffed animals, keychains, and more! The Secret to Staying in Magic Kingdom After It Closes The Best Way to Deal with Fireworks & Parade Crowds at Night One of the hardest things to navigate at Magic Kingdom is the crowds, especially when you’re trying to exit the park after the nighttime shows. Luckily, we have some tips that can help ease the stress of fighting these crowds. Crowds After the Fireworks! Our first tip is to just wait it out. Admire the scenery and sounds. Do some shopping. Take some pictures. Grab a snack. Do anything other than leave! This will give it time to let other people clear out and ease your stress. So beautiful! And we understand you might just want to get out of there, which is why our next tip is to watch the nighttime shows by the exit, and this benefits you for TWO reasons! There are projections cast on both the castle and the buildings down Main Street, U.S.A., during the Happily Ever After Fireworks show, so if you watch toward the exit, you’ll be able to see them compared to the people who can’t if they’re closer to the castle. Projections on Main Street, U.S.A. Plus, you should watch the Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away Nighttime Parade near the exit because that’s where the parade starts! Not only will you be able to beat the crowds by watching near the exit, but you also won’t have to wait for it to get to you if you’re watching in other lands. Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away It’s a win-win! This Is the Most CHAOTIC Thing You Can Do in Magic Kingdom Right Now, But It’s 110% Worth It So, the next time you visit Magic Kingdom, be sure to remember these tricks, so you can be a pro! 10. Walt Disney World trips are ALWAYS a treat. Main Street, U.S.A. in Magic Kingdom Whether it’s your first time, 50th time, or 500th time visiting the “Most Magical Place on Earth,” arriving is always exciting. However, there is a danger to getting overly amped on your first day. As we’ve said many times before, visiting Disney World’s theme parks has to be treated much more like a marathon than a sprint. No, not that kind of marathon. Understandably, many guests arrive at that FIRST park on the FIRST day of their trip on cloud 9, ready and RARING to go! After all, as they’re crowded in front of one of Disney’s parks for rope drop, this is THE MOMENT they and their family have been counting down months or even years for, finally right in front of them! Rope Drop However, if you find yourself in that spot, we have a warning: DON’T over-exert yourself right from day one and lose all your steam for the remainder of the parks. Instead, pace yourself. Don’t feel like you need to be doing multiple laps around, say, the World Showcase right when the EPCOT pavilions open up for the day. Mexico Pavilion at EPCOT And — as you plan out your park itineraries beforehand — look at the park maps to see how close attractions are to one another. That way, you’re not running yourself ragged by planning back-to-back experiences on far opposite ends of the park over and over and OVER again, racking up MORE steps than you need to take in a single day. Disney Starlight Speaking of plans made beforehand, you’ll likely need to secure Advanced Dining Reservations as well. Our Guide to Disney World Dining pulls it all together so you can stop stressing and focus on the fun without feeling like you’re missing a thing! Well, according to TechRadar, Apple just revealed that this feature is about to get even better. As we outlined before, currently, guests can use the MagicMobile feature to store their tickets in their Apple Wallet for easier entrance into the park. However, in the fall, with the iOS 27 update, this feature is going to get so much better! This will make your trip so much easier! Once this update rolls out, guests with iPhones will be able to see your daily itinerary directly in their Apple Wallet. Alongside your park ticket, you’ll be able to view park reservations for that day, and the coming days of your trip, Lightning Lane redemptions, specialty ticketed events, and dining reservations. Our Apple Wallet screenshot when our MagicMobile pass was scanned. Voila! You are even supposed to be able to view future trips all from your Apple Wallet. This new feature will allow for everything on your Disney vacation to be more organized and give you more time to enjoy your vacation, with everything you need available right in your Apple Wallet. You’ll be able to do so much more than scan into the parks! We are so excited to see how this new feature works when it rolls out in the fall. 13. A brand new hotel is coming to Disney World, and we couldn’t be more excited. Lakeshore Lodge is being built where Disney’s River Country water park once sat, finally making use of that long-abandoned space near Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground. Lakeshore Lodge Concept Art ©Disney We’ve been keeping an eye on construction over at the new resort, and Disney has been dropping a few details. Well, now, Disney has revealed new details about The Wetlands, the outdoor recreation area you’ll find just beyond the hotel’s lobby. Lakeshore Lodge’s The Wetlands will be a place where guests can find both fun and relaxation. One part of The Wetlands will be for kiddos, where they can “become part of nature’s story through whimsical wet and dry play areas inspired by the music and storytelling of Walt Disney Animation Studios’ Pocahontas.” The play area will be inspired by the lyrics “the heron and the otter are my friends” from “Colros of the Wind.” ©Disney Heron Shores will also bring exploration and hands-on play to kids with climbing features, while Otter Springs will come to life with interactive water fun. The lazy Daydream River will be where guests can sit back and relax on an innertube while the river carries them through The Wetlands. ©Disney Lakeside Lagoon is in the center of The Wetlands. This is a zero-entry pool for guests of all ages. It will include a spiral waterslide. A leisure pool will be located on the opposite side of Lakeshore Lodge, complete with a whirlpool spa and a view of Magic Kingdom’s fireworks at night. ©Disney There’s also a scenic path that runs through the recreation area that will uncover facts about the plants and flowers surrounding them. Disney also teased a special plaque that honors a “beloved historic attraction that once stood on this very spot.” Disney, you tease! Lakeshore Lodge will officially open in summer 2027, but until then, we’ll keep an eye out for more updates, so stay tuned to DFB for more. 4 Details Hiding in the Concept Art for Disney World’s Newest Hotel, Lakeshore Lodge Join the DFB Newsletter to get all the breaking news right in your inbox! 14. Disney’s latest announcement about the Monsters, Inc. land coming to Hollywood Studios has us SCREAMING! ©Disney After nearly two years of speculation, the company recently confirmed several MAJOR rumored details about the land, including that it will be officially dubbed Monstroplois, set in a world following the first film, host a show in the “Glob Theater”, and – – the part that has us most excited – – be home to Harryhausen’s restaurant! Over the last decade+, Disney Imagineers have created several eateries that feel like they came right out of the IP universes they were based on, including Be Our Guest, Oga’s Cantina, and Flo’s V-8 Cafe. Harryhuasen’s should be another entry to that list! Flo’s V-8 Cafe In the original 2001 Pixar film, Harryhausen’s – – named after legendary Hollywood special effects pioneer Ray Harryhausen, whose creature designs inspired Monsters, Inc.’s design team – – is a sushi restaurant in Monstropolis. Its head chef is a six-armed octopus. Why six instead of eight? Because the character is a reference to the 1955 film It Came from Beneath the Sea, which features a similar six-armed creature created by – – guess who? – – Ray Harryhausen. ©Pixar We’re really excited to have a real-world version of Harryhausen’s coming to Hollywood Studios. For starters, an upscale sushi-centric menu will add a unique new element to the park’s dining offerings. Plus, we’re absolutely hoping for a massive animatronic chef smack dab in the middle of the restaurant. Interestingly, if that were to come to pass, it would be a neat little easter egg to the park’s history, as concept art indicates that Harryhausen’s will be located in the space formerly home to Mama Melrose, which was originally built to house a Muppet-themed restaurant that was to be home to character animatronics before plans changed due to Jim Henson’s death. ©Disney Guests’ ability to visit Harryhausen’s will play into the land’s larger theme, which is built around “H.U.M.A.N. Day.” Short for “Humans Understand Monsters Are Nice,” Disney explains that through this event, which is “designed to introduce humans to life inside Monstropolis while helping monsters discover that humans are not so frightening after all”, humans are invited to, “explore the city, meet its citizens, taste unique cuisine, and step into the everyday world of monsters in a totally new way.” That theme in turn explains why humans can make their way through Monstropolis, dine at Harryhausen’s. and likely why they can tour the Monsters, Inc. factory that’s home to the land’s suspended door coaster E-Ticket. ©Disney We expect to learn more about Monstropolis, and Harryhausen’s in particular, at the D23 Ultimate Fan Event in October. If one looks closely at the Monstropolis Horn faux newspaper that Disney released along with the announcement, as “Local Restaurants Comment on Menu Developments” is advertised as being on Page 8, Column 15. D23’s parks panel is scheduled for August 15th, AKA 8/15. Look at the top ©Disney Harryhausen’s is coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios along with Monstropolis, and we’re practically screaming with excitement. 17. Disney Springs has seen so many changes this year! First, it was Sprinkles Cupcakes, then Francesca’s, plus Shore and Johnston & Murphy all closed. Then, two new stores were announced with Cole Haan and Vuori, and the Ghirardelli location is moving. And somehow, that’s not even all of it – a brand-new restaurant is coming to Disney Springs! Six Ravens Six Ravens is a fast-casual restaurant by Gideon’s Bakehouse specializing in hand pies. It will open sometime in 2026, but we have a massive update: we’ll be getting these savory treats sooner rather than later! When we stopped by Disney Springs recently, we noticed these massive signs and decor at the new Six Ravens location! There’s a large raven crest on top, with a small Six Ravens logo sign above the door. Now, let’s zoom in! Six Ravens The new Six Ravens logo depicts a massive black raven with a gold crown on its head. There are six silver stars on the crest, which is a new addition. It’s a king raven! The Six Ravens logo released back in January featured the same bird, but instead of the Roman numerals for six underneath, it’s now six stars. The logo is a bit more low-key now, and it fits the medieval vibe the restaurant is going for better. ©Six Ravens There’s also a brand-new sign above the door reading “Six Ravens.” It’s a tan-colored medieval-inspired font surrounded by brown and burgundy boho arch designs, with five brown stars inside each intersection. It’s such a vibe! Six Ravens Six Ravens will open sometime this summer, but based on the new signage we saw today, it’s looking to open sooner rather than later. 20. If you asked most Disney World fans to name the hardest Lightning Lane to grab in Disney’s Hollywood Studios right now, a lot of them would probably shout, “Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster!” before you even finished the sentence. Let’s ride! And honestly, that guess makes sense. It is newly Muppets-fied, it is fast, it is loud, it has the Electric Mayhem involved, and Animal on a thrill ride is exactly the kind of chaos Disney should have been feeding us for years. But the numbers are doing something a little sneakier. According to the data (because we take our Disney science seriously and we research this like someone defending their dissertation), the Lightning Lane that tends to disappear first in Disney’s Hollywood Studios is not Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets. It is usually Slinky Dog Dash, with Toy Story Mania! also proving to be far more competitive than some guests might expect. Hollywood Studios has officially entered its “the toys are running the meeting” era. Slinky Dog Dash at Disney’s Hollywood Studios The Numbers Are Not Behaving Like You Think Here is what the Average LL Finish Time data shows for some of the big Hollywood Studios Lightning Lane rides: Attraction Average LL Finish Time Slinky Dog Dash 8:17 AM Toy Story Mania! 9:50 AM Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets 11:34 AM The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror 11:59 AM So yes, Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster is still a big deal. We are not saying you can stroll in at noon, hum a little “Mahna Mahna,” and expect your ideal return time to find you sitting there, untouched like a complimentary hotel mint. But if you are trying to identify the Lightning Lane most likely to vanish early, the data points straight to Slinky Dog Dash. And Toy Story Mania! is right behind it, holding a tiny plastic blaster and quietly causing problems. Slinky Dog Dash Is Still the Big One Slinky Dog Dash has been one of the toughest Lightning Lanes in Hollywood Studios for a long time, and the reason is not mysterious. It sits in Toy Story Land, it is colorful, it is easy to understand, and it feels like a “real ride” without being too intense for a lot of families. Slinky Dog Dash That 38-inch height requirement also helps. It is restrictive enough to keep out the littlest park guests, but not nearly as restrictive as Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster. A lot of elementary-age kids can ride Slinky Dog Dash, which means a lot of families can book it together without splitting the group. Slinky Dog Dash It also occupies that very powerful Disney World category: thrilling, but not terrifying. That is the Lightning Lane sweet spot. It is not a slow-moving show. It is not a “we’ll get to it later” attraction. It is a coaster that kids want, adults tolerate happily, and Toy Story fans actively seek out. That combination makes it a Lightning Lane vacuum. What I Wish I Knew Before Riding Slinky Dog Dash in Disney’s Hollywood Studios Toy Story Mania! Is the Sneaky One Toy Story Mania! does not always get treated like the terrifying Lightning Lane beast that it can be, and that is probably because it is not a coaster. It does not launch you into the dark. It does not drop you into the Twilight Zone. It does not make your sunglasses disappear into the ether of “alas poor Yorick, I knew him well”. Toy Story Mania But it is wildly bookable. Toy Story Mania! has no height requirement, which immediately makes it one of the most broadly appealing Lightning Lane choices in the park. Babies, grandparents, competitive dads, score-obsessed older siblings, and that one person in every group who insists they “know the trick” can all ride. Mr. Potato Head That is important in Hollywood Studios because this park has several attractions that divide families by height, thrill tolerance, or both. Toy Story Mania! is one of the easier yeses. It is also indoors, interactive, air-conditioned, and Toy Story-themed. That is not a ride. That is a vacation survival mechanism with a pull-string shooter. So when families are making their Lightning Lane picks, Toy Story Mania! becomes an obvious choice. It may not look like the scariest Lightning Lane on paper, but it gets snapped up because almost everyone can use it. A Former Disney Cast Member Reveals the SECRET Way to WIN at Toy Story Mania Tower of Terror Is Lurking, Too Tower of Terror is also in the mix, especially in more recent snapshots. It may not always beat Slinky Dog Dash or Toy Story Mania!, but it can sell out earlier than guests expect. Part of that comes down to its position in the Lightning Lane lineup. Tower of Terror is not in the same advance-booking group as Slinky Dog Dash and Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster, which means some guests may treat it like a secondary pick. Tower of Terror That can be a mistake. Tower of Terror has a 40-inch height requirement, which makes it more accessible than Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster but more intense than something like Toy Story Mania!. It is also one of the park’s true icons. Even people who do not ride it know it. They can hear the screams from Sunset Boulevard and make informed decisions with their whole nervous system. Tower of Terror For thrill-seekers, Tower of Terror is not optional. For many Hollywood Studios fans, it is the assignment. So if you are building a Lightning Lane plan and assuming Tower will casually sit there waiting for you, be careful. That spooky old hotel has range. NEW RULES for Tower of Terror That Disney Adults Are Begging For Why Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster Is Not Winning This Race Here is the thing about Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets: it is absolutely popular. It is new, it is loud, and it has the kind of retheme that gets Disney fans opening group chats before coffee. But it also has a 48-inch height requirement and multiple inversions. That automatically narrows the audience. Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets Plenty of families are going to have someone too short, too nervous, too motion-sensitive, or too committed to not being turned upside down before lunch. And when a group is booking Lightning Lanes together, those opinions, preferences, and restrictions have to be factored in. Slinky Dog Dash can serve more of the family. Toy Story Mania! can serve almost everybody. Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster is more selective. It may have flashier demand, but Slinky Dog Dash and Toy Story Mania! have broader demand. That is the real story here. The hardest Lightning Lane is not always the newest or the most intense. Sometimes it is the one that the biggest number of people can agree on without a five-minute sidewalk debate next to a stroller parking corral. We’re Answering Your Biggest Question About Rock n Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets What You Should Book First If Slinky Dog Dash is on your must-do list, book it first. Do not get cute. Do not get distracted. Do not get sidetracked by Muppet fandom and the haunting voice of Sam Eagle in your head telling you that booking Rock n Roller Coaster is distinctly patriotic. Slinky Dog Dash Slinky Dog Dash should be your first Hollywood Studios Lightning Lane priority if your group wants it. After that, Toy Story Mania! deserves more respect than many people give it. If you have kids, Toy Story fans, competitive ride-score goblins, or anyone who needs a dependable indoor break, grab it early. Toy Story Mania Tower of Terror should also be high on your list if your group loves thrill rides. It can disappear faster than guests assume, especially when Hollywood Studios crowds are heavier or Sunset Boulevard is having a moment. Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster is still worth prioritizing, especially with The Muppets in the mix, but do not assume it is automatically the hardest booking in the park just because it sounds like the loudest one. Everything You Need to Know About Lightning Lane Multi Pass in Disney World The Real Hollywood Studios Rule The real rule is this: family-friendly rides can be more competitive than thrill rides. That sounds backward until you remember how Disney World vacations actually work. Most groups are not just optimizing for adrenaline. They are trying to book rides that work for kids, grandparents, nervous riders, height requirements, lunch plans, stroller naps, and whoever has declared they are “not doing drops today.” Toy Story Land! Slinky Dog Dash and Toy Story Mania! are attractive because they solve more problems for more groups. Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster may be the flashy pick, but Toy Story Land is where a lot of Lightning Lane availability goes to vanish. So next time you are booking Hollywood Studios, do not let the Muppets distract you completely. Yes, we love them. Yes, Disney should put them everywhere. Yes, Sam Eagle should have a list of his personal recommendations on every park map. But when it comes to Lightning Lane strategy, Slinky Dog Dash is still the one to watch. Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets And Toy Story Mania! is sitting right behind it, smiling politely, while absolutely wrecking your afternoon backup plan. 21. We’re pretty massive Disney fans, but that doesn’t mean we don’t check out the other theme parks. One that we’ve been loving lately has been Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. ©Dollywood We’ve been trying lots of food, and of course checking out the rides, and one of the newest rides, NightFlight Expedition, has been high on our list to check out. Unfortunately, it seems like we’re going to have to wait a little bit longer before we’re able to climb on and ride. Originally, NightFlight Expedition was set to open in Spring 2026 but is now expected to open in mid-August. ©Dollywood The park’s president, Eugene Naughton, said, “We’re going to have to do a little bit more work to get the ride ready for operation. It’s an incredibly complex and interesting ride that we’re trying to get ready. [There is] a little bit more work to do on our show and test and adjust period, but we promise to work on it as diligently as possible. I know you all are as excited to have the ability to ride Night Flight Expedition as we are as a team. I’m incredibly proud of the work we’ve done to date. And I want you to know we’ll give you good updates along the way.” ©Dollywood The ride was announced in September 2025 and is a more than $50 million investment for Dollywood. The park said it’s the largest single-attraction investment in Dollywood’s history. They also said it is the world’s first indoor family hybrid coaster and whitewater river raft ride and will take guests on a give-and-a-half-minute journey with nearly a quarter-mile of track. It will take riders almost three stories high and will reach speeds of up to 29 miles per hour. In four sections, guests can soar over the Smokies, take a whitewater rafting excursion through 500,000 gallons of surging water, climb a mountain ridge on a roller coaster, and then navigate a shimmering lake by boat. ©Dollywood NightFlight Expedition continues Dolly Parton’s story of Wildwood Grove and follows the twin Scientists, Cora and Jasper Oakley, as they search for the legendary Secret Lake. They are the niece and nephew of Ned Oakley, the character whose voice is featured on Big Bear Mountain. The twins’ search takes visitors on a journey through the Great Smoky Mountains at night. ©Dollywood While we’re bummed to have to wait a little longer, we’re excited that they’re working on making the roller coaster perfect for guests. 23. This past spring, Disney Springs started a new rule where guests using the bus system had to have a dining or hotel reservation for the resort they were going to. It was in place during a holiday weekend, likely to control the crowds and limit how many guests were able to use the free transportation and visit the hotels. Disney Springs While the rule stopped shortly after the holiday, we spoke to a Cast Member at Disney Springs who said it’s coming back and there’s no plan to end it. We heard people online talking about the rule coming back, but we went to Disney Springs to see for ourselves. When speaking with a security Cast Member, we were told that the new rule is either starting June 22nd or 28th with no set end date. It will also include the boats in addition to the buses. Cast Members checking MagicBands The transportation will still be available from Disney Springs, but you will need to show proof to be able to get on. You can show a hotel or restaurant reservation, but if you’re just coming to check out the resorts, you might run into some issues. Blockades put up What do you do when you want to visit the resorts? The easiest way to do so would be to park at one of the four theme parks and use the bus, boat, monorail, or Skyliner transportation to get to your chosen resort. If you’re not an Annual Passholder or hotel guest, you will have to pay for parking. EPCOT parking lot 5 TIPS FOR THE DISNEY SPRINGS BUS RULE Not wanting to pay for parking? You can take a rideshare option like Uber or Lyft, but you would still need to be dropped off at one of the parks, not the hotels. For a while now, resorts have required a hotel or dining reservation for your rideshare driver to drive you into the resorts. Heading to the closest theme park is the easiest way to get around for now. Disney World Rideshare sign This rule is likely coming back due to crowds. As we get into the summer months, everywhere around Disney World tends to get busier, and while we enjoy resort hopping, visiting all the different spots, and trying new food, it’s becoming a bit more difficult. 25. Walt Disney World has more patriotic experiences than many guests realize. Some are obvious, like the Flag Retreat ceremony at Magic Kingdom or Voices of Liberty at EPCOT.
