  2. An annual holiday that we are VERY passionate about is right around the corner. Magic Kingdom It can seem like everything gets a holiday, but we promise that this one is super important because it involves an iconic Disney snack. This year will be the fourth annual celebration of this fan-favorite frozen treat! This holiday is honored each year on the third Thursday of July, which happens to fall on July 18th of this year. Any guesses as to what this Disney snack this day is celebrating? Is it Mickey Premium Ice Cream Bar Day? It is DOLE Whip Day! Love it or hate it, DOLE Whip is a classic Disney treat available in different flavors across Disney World and Disneyland! Dole Whip Pineapple-Vanilla Swirl It is most known to be found in Adventureland at Sunshine Tree Terrace as well as at Aloha Aisle. Over at the Polynesian Village Resort at Pineapple Lanai, and Swirls on the Water in Disney Springs. Pineapple Lanai Why DOLE Whip Experts Never Get the Basic DOLE Whip Pineapple Flavor DOLE Whip treats can also pop up around different hotels in the form of a fun, boozy drink. Key Lime Martini DOLE Whip can also be found in Disneyland’s Adventureland at The Tropical Hideaway and the Tiki Juice Bar. If you head over to the Disneyland hotel, you can find this treat at Tangarora Terrace and Trader Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Bar. Valentine’s Day Swirl from Tropical Hideaway in 2022 You can even get DOLE Whip sailing the high seas aboard Disney Cruise Line! Frozone Treats aboard the Disney Magic While DOLE Whip is better known for its pineapple flavor, it comes in a wide variety of flavors, including orange, lime, cherry, watermelon, and so much more! Full List of Dole Whips that You Can Get in Disney World! Lime and Pineapple! Let’s take a trip down memory lane of some different DOLE Whips that we have gotten across the parks. Coconut-Pineapple Dole Whip It is not just at hotels and resorts that you can get DOLE Whip, but also at water parks! If you take a trip to Typhoon Lagoon, you can try this DOLE Whip Treat, which is served in a BATHTUB! Dole Whip Bathtub Sundae The updated version of the DOLE Whip Bathtub Sundae features three different flavors: DOLE Whip Pineapple, DOLE Whip Strawberry, and Green Matcha Tea Soft-Serve. You can find this treat at Typhoon Tilly’s, and you even get to keep the bathtub! Popping pearls Swirls on the Water has a rotating menu, and right now, the main features are all about DOLE Whip Orange to celebrate the Flavors of Florida. In 2023, a cone was dedicated to one of our favorite princesses who has a dream! Swirls on the Water The Rapunzel Cone featured DOLE Whip Lemon and DOLE Whip Raspberry swirled in a lavender cone with sugar flowers. This cone was so pretty! It was also delicious! We loved the fruity flavor of the raspberry and the zesty lemon, as it offered a nice sweet-and-sour combo. Rapunzel Cone If you are looking for a specialty DOLE Whip that you can very soon, you are going to want to check out EPCOT, but hurry, it will only be around for a limited time! 3. Are you planning to vacation at Disney World in 2025? Then you need to get up-to-date on this new hotel perk! Swan and Dolphin Changes are on the horizon for Disney World in 2025, and one of those changes could alter the way you go about your lodging when visiting the resort. A new Disney World hotel perk is being introduced next year that could add tons of extra fun to your Disney World trip! Disney World announced earlier this year that beginning in 2025, guests staying at Disney World hotels (including DVC stays) will get FREE park tickets to the Disney water parks on their arrival day. These tickets are eligible at either Blizzard Beach Water Park or Typhoon Lagoon Water Park — whichever is open at the time of your visit. Riviera Resort Right now, this benefit is only available for those with check-in dates from January 1st to December 31st, 2025. The benefit is also subject to availability and all visitors must be listed on the hotel reservation. Typhoon Lagoon There is a caveat, however. This hotel perk is only valid ONLY on your check-in day. So if you want to get your water park on, you’ll need to plan to do so on the same day you arrive at Disney World. Obviously, this can cause some complications for folks who like to use their check-in day to settle in. For others, this perk is an awesome way to jumpstart a vacation. Typhoon Lagoon Wave Pool Many will pass up this perk because it requires nearly a full day in addition to the travel and check-in process, but if you plan accordingly, you should have little trouble with this new Disney World offering. Before this perk was announced, it was commonplace to fly into Orlando, check in to your hotel, settle in, and relax into the evening. However, with this benefit, it makes sense that many will shift their itineraries around to get to the resort MUCH earlier. Blizzard Beach You may want to consider changing your flights to something earlier if this is a perk you want to take advantage of. Water parks don’t naturally stay open very late, so if you want to maximize your time at one of Disney World’s two water parks, we recommend arriving at the resort early in the morning. Above all else, make sure you’re comfortable with your travel plans. If you’re going to visit a water park on the first day, you can never go wrong with giving yourself ample time to avoid the stress of rushing. Orlando International Airport Showing up early now means that the probability of your hotel room not being ready upon arrival increases. You won’t be able to take your luggage up to your room, but bell services could hold your stuff. We also recommend packing your water park gear in a carry-on, that way you can quick-change at the hotel bathrooms or at the water park. Consider packing swimwear, spare clothes, sunscreen, sandals, hats, sunglasses, water bottles, and other water park necessities in a separate carry-on so you can hit the ground running once you get to the resort. As a friendly reminder, beach towels at the water parks are complimentary for those staying at Disney World hotels, so don’t sweat packing those. Castaway Creek Lazy River Ultimately, like everything else at Disney World, prepare to plan. If you want to take advantage of this new hotel perk in 2025, make a plan of attack before you go so that you have the smoothest experience possible. In the meantime, stay tuned here at DFB for the latest Disney World planning tips, news, reviews, and more! 4. There are literally hundreds of souvenirs you can choose from when you are visiting Disney World! However, we have noticed (and taken part in!) a souvenir trend that is taking Disney World by storm. A great souvenir! There are so many souvenirs that don’t seem personal or have a lot of memories attached to them. But this souvenir trend is changing all of that! DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission. We have been noticing lots of people bringing in simple items like hats, water bottles, t-shirts, and picture frames that end up making a fantastic souvenir. How you may ask? By bringing the item around the parks to get signed by the Disney characters they meet! Make sure you have your item and some markers, and let the fun begin. Captain Jack! Once you leave, you will have a souvenir that is full of memories of your trip. Plus, you can use it in your everyday life once you return from your trip. How cool would it be to wear a hat signed by lots of Disney characters or look at a picture frame covered in colorful signatures? We think this souvenir trend is going to continue to grow as it is such a fun way to make a keepsake of your trip. We have already gotten a water bottle and a picture frame signed while at the Disney parks, and we had such a fun time! Now we are sharing the items we got signed with you, so you can also create your own souvenir while you are at Disney World. Grab this picture frame to be signed! Our first attempt of this new souvenir trend was bringing a blank picture frame with us to the parks. We took the frame out of the actual holder so it was just the paper frame. While you could bring the entire picture frame with you, we thought this was much easier. Although, definitely be careful so you don’t bend it too much! Before We traveled all around the park and got LOADS of signatures on our picture frame. We brought a pack of colorful Sharpie markers to add a bit more color to the frame. After We think the end result was amazing! Then you can add your favorite picture from the trip in the middle of the frame and you have a really fun keepsake. Get this picture frame here! Get this Owala Water Bottle ready to be signed! We have also brought a Owala Water Bottle to the parks to be signed and had fantastic results! We did notice that the characters had a slightly more difficult time signing this versus the picture frame, but we still thought all the signatures looked great. We also used a pack of colorful Sharpies to have the water bottle signed. Mickey signing the bottle We once again had such a great time traveling around the park, meeting characters, and adding signatures to our water bottle. Mickey Mouse even added a little note to “Stay hydrated!” which we thought was adorable. The finished bottle We did notice that the more we touched the water bottle, the signature began to smudge slightly. Our biggest recommendation would be to handle it carefully during the day and then utilize a sealant spray to preserve all your hard work. However, we loved the finished result. Get your own water bottle here! Don’t say we didn’t warn you, we we think this souvenir trend is here to stay! We think it is such a fun experience and then you get a keepsake of your trip. You can choose to customize so many different items, not just a water bottle or picture frame. Stay tuned to DFB for more Disney World tips and tricks! 7. There are quite literally hundreds of restaurants in Disney World, and it can be a challenge to choose one to visit! Snacks Often, our decisions are made based on price, menu, and location. And that last factor is important! Many people choose to eat at restaurants during their vacation simply because they’re located at their hotel. We experienced that very phenomenon recently, and we’re here to share our review! If you’re staying at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground, you have a few different dining options. However, the quickest and cheapest choice is Trail’s End Restaurant — a former table service spot that was converted into a quick service restaurant in 2023. Trail’s End This restaurant is located next door to Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue and features plenty of indoor seating. The food is designed to either be eaten in-house or to be packaged and taken back to your campsite or cabin for a meal with your family. Trail’s End Restaurant On the menu, they’ve got all kinds of classic southern eats and comfort foods, from fried chicken to pizza to mac and cheese to burgers. You can order in individual portions or pick up family-sized servings for your whole group. You can buy a whole chicken! During our visit, we decided to try out two different entrees from the menu! First up was the Barbecued Pulled Pork which was served on a fresh brioche bun for $10.79. Disney says it’s made with 10-hour smoked pulled pork and barbecue sauce topped with creamy slaw and served with french fries. Barbecue sandwich The fries were pretty well seasoned but might have been a bit TOO seasoned for a day spent in the hot sun at the campground. (You know, like when your stomach really just needs bland food?) The pulled pork sandwich was fine but it didn’t really taste like “10-hour smoked pulled pork.” It was more like a basic cafeteria-made barbecue sandwich than something really special. Ultimately, this dish isn’t anything to write home about but it will satisfy your hunger. The sandwich We also got the Bacon Cheeseburger for $13.99. This burger is made with grilled Angus beef topped with cheddar, lettuce, and tomato on a brioche bun and served with french fries. It had the same thoroughly seasoned fries on the side that the barbecue sandwich did — they’re yummy, but maybe not great for mid-summer. Bacon Cheeseburger The burger itself was unfortunately quite dry. Not only was the patty dry, but the bacon was overcooked to the point of being crunchy. (Yeah, not crispy…CRUNCHY.) We probably wouldn’t order this again. Instead, we recommend getting a burger at Crockett’s Tavern next door during its operating hours. A very dry burger Ultimately, we’re not going to encourage you to go out of your way to visit Trail’s End Restaurant anytime soon, but it’s not a bad option if you want something fast and easy during your Fort Wilderness stay. We would definitely pick Crockett’s Tavern or Hoop-Dee-Doo over this though. Stay tuned to DFB for more food reviews from Disney World and all the updates you need before your vacation! 10. The Disney parks around the world are known for some pretty amazing things. ©Disney Disneyland itself was the first park of its kind, Tokyo DisneySea recently opened the absolutely incredible Fantasy Springs land, and we’re looking forward to hearing more about Disney’s theme park expansion plans next month at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event. But now, one Disney park has officially broken a Guinness World Record, and the record that was broken might surprise you! On the evening of July 14th, 2024, Disneyland Paris officially became the Guinness World Record holder for the “Largest aerial display of a fictional character formed by multirotors/drones.” That’s quite a specific title! ©Disney A total of 1,571 drones were used to create a massive tri-colored Mickey Mouse high in the sky. The giant Mickey image was created with the colors of the French flag to celebrate Bastille Day on July 14th. ©Disney Disneyland Paris is no novice to drone shows — they’ve been using drones for their nighttime spectaculars for a few years now, and we’ve been very jealous over here in the States (but now we have Disney Dreams That Soar in Disney Springs!). This particular spectacular was done in partnership with Dronisos, Europe’s leading drone show technology provider. ©Disney The show used a grand total of 1,630 drones (including pyro drones — yes, those exist!) to create a 12-minute show of five different scenes from Disney films inspired by France — Beauty and the Beast, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Sleeping Beauty, The Aristocats, and Ratatouille — plus the Eiffel Tower and the Notre Dame Cathedral. ©Disney While this Bastille Day show was only for one day, guests visiting the parks can still experience the Disney Electrical Sky Parade over Sleeping Beauty Castle, which uses over 500 drones, this summer and fall. Lovers of the extinct Main Street Electrical Parade from the United States are sure to be fans. Check Out More Recent Disneyland Paris News! 11. There won’t be any whip-cracking or hat-saving over in Disney’s Hollywood Studios today. Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular If you are in Hollywood Studios today, we have some bad news about one of the entertainment options. The Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular has canceled the rest of its shows for the day. The My Disney Experience app lists no showtimes for the rest of the day, and we also received confirmation from Cast Members working at the show. A Cast Member said that the shows have been canceled due to “technical difficulties.” We also asked about tomorrow’s showtimes and they said that the shows tomorrow should be a go “as long as weather permits.” Here’s to hoping that Indiana Jones is back in action tomorrow! No performances today Cast Members were stationed outside of the venue when we stopped by. Unfortunately, if you were hoping to catch a showing of Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular, you will need to come back another day. This stunt show features a behind-the-scenes look at movie stunts and how they are filmed. You will join Indy and Marion as they perform stunts for multiple scenes and give you a look at how production teams pull off movie magic. The show is action-packed and features lots of special effects to immerse you in the show. We are hopeful that shows will return tomorrow in Hollywood Studios! Cast Members outside of the show Even though you won’t be able to see Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular today, you can still catch a variety of other shows in Hollywood Studios. You can sing-along to Frozen during the “For the First Time in Forever: A Frozen Sing-Along Celebration” or dance with Belle in “Beauty and the Beast – Live on Stage” or join a dance party at the “Disney Junior Play and Dance!” We will be keeping an eye on Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular and let you know if there are any updates or further cancellations. 12. Scale the Forbidden Mountain! The Yeti! Disney Expedition Everest has been one of Walt Disney World’s premier attractions since it opened in 2006. Despite some well-known technical issues surrounding its heavily promoted Yeti animatronic, the ride has become a favorite attraction of many due to its thrilling coaster layout, including a backward portion. Like any popular roller coaster, there are many opinions as to the best seat to experience Expedition Everest. Before we tell you our choice though, let’s see what our readers thought. We polled our Facebook audience with the simple question “Which row is BEST on Expedition Everest?” We received a multitude of answers, but there were a few that seemed to reach consensus. For starters, we got a few responses from readers who said that they weren’t big fans of Expedition Everest, but that if they had to ride it, they’d aim for the middle of the coaster car. For example, reader Kristin wrote “The benches outside the ride. Unfortunately, the backward portion triggers my motion sickness. If I had to ride, I’d probably aim for the middle in hopes of avoiding the worst of it in either direction.” Expedition Everest However, beyond those answers, there were seemingly two options for best that battled back and forth. Many readers responded with the first row at the front of the train. As reader Erwin put it, the “front row hits you good going backward”, while reader Sheila added, “1st for me and my son especially when the track ends.” However, while there was a decent amount of love for the front seat, a seemingly equal amount of our Facebook readers preferred sitting in the back row. Reader Brian wrote, “Very back! Especially for the drop” while reader Doug added, “I’m sure a lot of people will say the front row, but the back row is absolutely wild!” Expedition Everest Meanwhile, reader Mike gave us our new favorite way to describe coaster trains and vehicles: “Santa Claus seat, the very back, keep all the reindeer up front.” There were also some diplomatic wanders, such as reader Robb writing, “Not a bad row on the ride. You’re at Animal Kingdom, not a bad moment in my life.” Readers Ben and Jarrod expressed similar sentiments, saying “I’ve been all over and it’s always a good ride!” and “the first one with any available seat so I can ride it” respectively. ©Google Maps So with all those reader opinions expressed, what’s our take? Well, first off we definitely agree with the diplomatic takes that there’s really no bad seat on Expedition Everest. That said, we have to say our favorite is the front seat. We love the feeling of reaching the top of the mountain and encountering the “broken” tracks with seemingly nothing in front of us but an open sky. As if that wasn’t enough, the feeling of plummeting backward with the weight of the rest of the train pulling us faster might be in the top two or three most thrilling experiences at Disney World. Expedition Everest There’s no “bad” seat on Expedition Everest, but sitting in the first seat of the coaster train definitely adds a massively chilling element to the attraction. 14. Over the years, we’ve gathered plenty of tips to help avoid long lines in Disney World. Hollywood Studios From learning how to properly use Lightning Lanes to recommending people rope drop or stay late in the parks, we’ve got several methods for avoiding those multi-hour waits. For some attractions, you can skip a hefty wait by using the single rider line…and now there’s a new one in Disney World! Right now, Rise of the Resistance in Disney’s Hollywood Studios is testing out a single rider queue! The Cast Member told us this was just a trial period. They’ll be testing it for the next few weeks and getting feedback to see how it works and if it’s something that could be continued in the future. Look out for the sign! So if you’re heading to Disney World soon, you might want to keep your eyes peeled for this sign if the wait is long. It might save you some time if it works properly! Although, we’ve also seen single rider lines with even longer waits than their standby counterparts in the past. That’s part of why Disney has to do a testing phase. Rise of the Resistance However, when we spoke with another Cast Member, we got some potentially bad news about this single rider line. If you choose to wait in that queue, you’ll skip past ALL the pre-show elements of Rise of the Resistance. This means you skip the room with the Rey projection, the transport vehicle, and the Stormtrooper room. Instead, you come out directly before boarding the vehicle. Rise of the Resistance Now, if you’ve done the ride plenty of times, this might be fine. But if this is your first time riding Rise of the Resistance, this probably isn’t the way to go. You get a lot of background story and immersion from those pre-show elements, and if you use the single rider queue, you’ll be missing out on all of it. Ultimately, it depends on what you want from your ride experience. Rise of the Resistance entrance We’ve seen Disney World test single rider queues at other attractions in the past as well. There was a period of time when they did a trial of a single rider queue at Soarin’ in EPCOT. It was tested for a while in 2022, then came back briefly in 2023. Unfortunately, it didn’t stick around permanently. Single rider line is back at Soarin’ in 2023 Currently, the only rides that have official single rider queues are Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster, Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run, and Expedition Everest. Test Track used to offer a single rider option before it closed to get a revamp. So if the Rise of the Resistance queue works out, then most of the single rider offerings will be in Hollywood Studios. Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster We’ll keep an eye on this new queue option and see if it sticks around! Stay tuned to DFB for all the news and updates! Click Here to Learn More About Rise of the Resistance! 15. We’ve been covering Disney World food for 15 years, and that means we have many memories of things that were…unfortunate in the late 2000s and early 2010s. Mickey Waffle (2009) Yes, we’ve had our fair share of not-so-great Disney World snacks, but there were two things about Disney World that DID have to do with dining, but not in the way you’d expect, that was ROUGH. These two things went from being constantly complained about to now being non-issues, which shows just how far things have come in a decade and a half. Those two things? Coffee and water. What do you do when there's a nearly 3-month gap between the EPCOT Flower & Garden Festival and the EPCOT Food & Wine Festival? You throw yourself a big old DFB Mega Fest! We've got loads of giveaways, behind the scenes content, and untold crazy stories from AJ Wolfe and the DFB team. Come celebrate DFB Mega Fest with us! When we started reporting on Disney World food and snacks, coffee in the parks was basically nonexistent. The first Joffrey’s location opened at Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon in 1995, and a second location opened at Disney’s Blizzard Beach soon after. However, Joffrey’s didn’t become the official specialty coffee of Disney World, Disneyland Resort, and Disney Vacation Club until 2012, which was only a few years after Disney Food Blog was created. Joffrey’s Can you imagine that? Being in the Disney World parks with no coffee? If you needed a pick-me-up before your park day, your only option on property was instant coffee in your hotel room which was…we won’t sugarcoat it, it was disgusting. It was caffeine, but it was gross. If you were driving in, you could try to stop and get coffee before your park day, but that proved difficult for many guests, so instant coffee it was. Joffrey’s That all changed from 2012 onwards when the partnership was made official. Now, if you’re drinking coffee on Disney World property and it’s not from a Starbucks location (which also didn’t exist in Disney World and Disneyland until 2014), it’s Joffrey’s. As Joffrey’s began ramping up its production and working with Disney on the different blends offered, you were able to find coffee around more and more areas of the parks. With the addition of the Starbucks locations, by around 2015, the coffee problems were solved in Disney World. Starbucks Now, as for water, you’d think that water was always a good quality in Disney World, right? WRONG. For YEARS. Tap water in Disney World was an absolute joke — so gross that people would be sure they brought flavor packets with them to just make it bearable. And we’re not just talking about what you could get out of a sink on property — no, tap water is used for all those free water cups you can get around Disney World, so any water fountain or cup of water from a quick service location was that disgusting tap water. Water Dispenser It was a major talking point on Disney message boards for years, complaining about how gross, swampy, and dirty-tasting the water in Disney World was UNLESS you purchased bottled water. But no one talks about that now, so what changed? Thankfully, throughout the years Disney World has improved their filtration systems both in their restaurants and at the self-service water refill stations/water fountains, so that the dirty flavor of the water is no longer present. Water fountain and refill station Yes, the water is still going to taste different than bottled water, because it IS still tap water, but we personally don’t have any issues with its taste now, and we think a lot of our readers would say the same. At the very least, it’s a DEFINITE improvement than what it used to be! FREE water in Magic Kingdom! On July 17th, the Country Bears will officially return to Magic Kingdom with a new take on the classic animatronic stage show, the Country Bears Musical Jamboree. The updated show pays tribute to the “Opry-style shows of Nashville,” according to Disney, and features the titular bears performing “reinterpreted Disney tunes in different genres of country music – like bluegrass, pop-country, Americana, rockabilly and other styles.” Country Bear Musical Jamboree If you’re staying at a deluxe-level Disney-owned hotel (or other select hotel) and want to catch the new show, you’ll not only be able to do so during park hours but also during Extended Evening Hours! 17. Disney Adults have an impressive knowledge of all things Disney. Magic Kingdom As Disney Adults ourselves, we happen to know a thing or two about Disney parks. For us, Disney lingo is completely normal; we are on the group map when we visit the parks, and we know all the best places to eat. To us, this is normal, but to others, they just might not get it. We will be in the parks and hear something that is so painfully wrong. We know we are not alone in this, and there are five things that Disney Adults understand right away, whereas normal people would be confused. Sometimes it can seem like Disney Adults speak their own language and for us, as Disney Adults these five things are like second nature to us, but it may not be second nature to others. 1. Funny Food Names There are the classic Disney snacks that even non-Disney adults know; you have the Mickey Pretzel, Mickey Ice Cream Bar and Sandwich, churro, and popcorn. Everyone knows what these are, but there are some Disney World foods that have funky names. Classic! For Disney Adults, some of our favorite foods include Cheeseburger Pods, which are delicious, but a normal person may wonder why we want to eat our food in pod shape. But then there are the more obscure names like Blue and Green Milk. Who wants to drink different colored milk? Well, Disney Adults! Even if you do not get one every time you visit Galaxy’s Edge, it is a staple of Batuu. Are you team Blue or Green Milk? Another Star Wars food that we love is Ronto Wraps! Now, a normal person might ask, what is a Ronto Wrap? And let me tell you this out-of-this-world (literally) wrap is grilled pork sausage, peppercorn sauce, and slaw, all wrapped up in pita bread. There is even a version for breakfast! The Morning Wrap has eggs, grilled pork sausage, shredded cheddar, and peppercorn sauce in pita bread. Ronto Wrap One of our favorite obscure foods is Tonga Toast, which can be found at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort at both Capt. Cook’s and Kona Cafe. This thing is HUGE. This delicious way to start your morning is banana-stuffed sourdough french toast rolled in cinnamon sugar, and it is served with a strawberry compote. We will go out of our way to have this for breakfast! If you are staying at the Polynesian or want to stop for breakfast before a day in Magic Kingdom, we recommend ordering Tonga Toast! Tonga Toast 2. The Fact that Peter Pan’s Flight has a Long Wait… like ALWAYS Peter Pan’s Flight is a dark ride in Fantasyland in Magic Kingdom and it always boasts high wait times. You get to fly in a pirate ship over the Darling’s house, and then you are off to Neverland! Peter Pan’s Flight This ride is cute, and while it is cool that you get to “fly,” as Disney Adults, we can never justify waiting that long for a slow-moving dark ride. We can’t lie, though. If there is a short wait, we are for sure hopping in line because it is rare to see it drop to a decent wait. Lightning Lane at Peter Pan’s Flight Peter Pan’s Flight is getting a little break right now as it is currently closed for refurbishment, but don’t worry when it opens again on August 21st we are sure the wait times will be very high as usual. Peter Pan’s Flight closed 3. Disney World Acronyms Swifties have their acronyms like IKYWT for I Knew You Were Trouble and YOYOK for You’re On Your Own Kid. Well Disney World also has a long list of acronyms that Disney Adults know right away, but they might not ring a bell with normal people. Friendship bracelets For example, if I texted my non-Disney Adult friends that I am so excited to attend MNSSHP next month, they would be SO confused. Disney Adults know that this acronym stands for Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. Another example of this would be MVMCP, which, of course, stands for Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party! If we texted someone that we were about to ride COP, they would wonder what we meant. Disney Adults know that it stands for Carousel of Progress, which is a Tomorrowland staple. Carousel of Progress If you get on the monorail, you may say, “We are getting off at the TTC.” Well, we all know that it stands for the Transportation and Ticket Center, but to others, that is just Magic Kingdom parking. Transportation and Ticket Center 4. You Can’t Just Walk Up to Characters Now, this is a little different for Disneyland, but in Disney World, when you see a character roaming, odds are they are either trying to get to their meet-and-greet location or leaving. Mulan It is totally understandable to see your favorite character in the park and want to run up to them to get a picture or ask for an autograph, but this can make a Disney Adult cringe. Mirabel Most of the time, characters can not stop to do these things because then a line could form of other people wanting the same treatment. Stopping for one person sets the precedent that the character has to stop for every one. Moana There is nothing wrong with a friendly hello, but remember to be respectful and wait until the character returns to their meet-and-greet location, where they will be more than happy to pose for pictures and sign autographs. Where to Find All the Character Meet and Greets in Disney World 5. There is No Harry Potter Land in Disney World It can be tough to be in Disney World and see someone wearing a Minions shirt or a Harry Potter Wizard Robe, knowing that they think they can meet those characters in Disney World. No Harry Potter here! Universal is a completely different theme park and company from Disney. Former Cast Members on our team have shared that people have asked them multiple times where the Harry Potter Land is, and it can be tough letting them down and telling them that they are at a completely different resort. Wizarding World of Harry Potter… is NOT at Walt Disney World It may seem obvious to a Disney Adult, but to a normal person, it can feel like Disney owns everything, so why wouldn’t they own Harry Potter, too? But they will have to drive over to Universal Studios if they want to take the Hogwarts Express or escape Gringotts. Head to Universal for all things Harry Potter It is funny to think that these five things are totally normal to us Disney Adults but it may take some explaining for our non-Disney Adult friends! 18. Disney has finally announced the dates for these important character dining CHANGES happening in Disney’s Hollywood Studios in 2024! Witch Minnie at Minnie’s Seasonal Dine at Hollywood & Vine in Disney’s Hollywood Studios Disney World’s character dining restaurants are some of the most popular places to eat in the parks because they’re character meet-and-greet experiences and tasty meals rolled into one. One of these restaurants in Hollywood Studios actually changes themes a few times a year, and now we have the dates for two upcoming changes. The Hollywood & Vine restaurant is a character dining spot in Hollywood Studios, located near Echo Lake (right by 50’s Prime Time Café). Hollywood & Vine This restaurant is actually a two-part experience: Breakfast is the Disney Junior Play ‘n’ Dine Breakfast, with characters like Fancy Nancy, Vampirina, Doc McStuffins, and Roadster Goofy and food like biscuits and gravy, Mickey waffles, and eggs benedict. This part of the restaurant does NOT change throughout the year — it remains the Disney Junior Play ‘n’ Dine Breakfast year-round, with the same characters through the seasons. Fancy Nancy at Hollywood & Vine Lunch and dinner at Hollywood & Vine is Minnie’s Seasonal Dine, and (as the name of this meal suggests), it changes themes with the seasons. The changes mainly affect the characters’ costumes. You’ll find the same characters at Seasonal Dine throughout the year — Minnie, Mickey, Goofy, and Pluto — but their outfits change based on the current season. Hollywood & Vine In the first part of the year, it’s Silver Screen Dine to celebrate the awards season, and you’ll meet Minnie and her friends in their fancy celebration outfits. Silver Screen Dine | ©Disney The restaurant then switches to Springtime Dine with bright, floral outfits for the characters. Charact Up next is Summertime Dine with outfits perfect for a summer vacation. That’s the theme that is currently in place, and we’d been waiting to hear when the theme will switch over to Halloween Dine. 20. We’re getting hyped up for a popular event returning to EPCOT next month — the International Food & Wine Festival! 2023 EPCOT Food and Wine Festival It’s one of the biggest draws of the year, bringing thousands of people to the park to taste the dishes from around the world. And now that EPCOT’s transformation is complete, we can’t wait to see how the festival is going to be even bigger and better! But if you’re curious about the FOOD, Disney recently dropped a major clue. In a recent Disney Insider newsletter, we got a tidbit about what to expect from the 2024 EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival. We’ll be getting two new food booths, as well as some brand-new fall flavors for this year’s fest! Full Spread at Spain in 2023 Here’s the excerpt from the newsletter: “The 2024 EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival will feature new marketplaces. “The marketplace selections will focus on fall foods and flavors,” Downing says. “We are going beyond the usual seasonal ingredients like apples and pumpkins and using other foods that capture the flavors in unique ways, such as a brined pork tenderloin with fennel slaw at Autumn Blaze and a wild game chili at Harvest Table, both new marketplaces.” The EPCOT Food & Wine Festival Both Autumn Blaze and Harvest Table will be new to the festival this year, and it looks like they’re going to be experimenting with some flavors we haven’t really seen before. Typically, the Food & Wine Festival is heavy on traditional fall flavors like pumpkin, apple, cheese, sweet potatoes, etc. But now we’ll be getting some items that are a bit outside the box! Brined pork and wild game? Sounds intriguing! Booths popping up in EPCOT before the festival We often see returning favorite dishes at the Food & Wine Festival year after year, with some classic booths having the same menu multiple years in a row. But we can typically count on new festival booths to bring innovation to the party each year, and it looks like 2024 will be no different! 2023 Germany Full Spread Disney hasn’t yet released the full menus for this year’s festival, which kicks off on August 29th and runs through November 23rd. We’ll make sure to update you as soon as they do! This year’s festival will be a little bit shorter than the past few years, considering it’s starting at the end of August instead of in early July. We’re getting back to it being more of a “fall” festival. The EPCOT Food and Wine Festival Hopefully, the weather will be relaxed this fall and we’ll get to enjoy lots of hearty Food & Wine Festival dishes in the coming months. 21. Are you ready for the 2024 EPCOT Food & Wine Festival? It’s getting closer! This year’s festival is starting a little later and will run from August 29th through November 23rd. Now, we’ve seen a few details about what to expect for this year’s festival, including the schedule for the Eat to the Beat concert series. And right now, we’re learning about two NEW food booths coming to the festival in 2024! The two new booths for the EPCOT Food and Wine Festival will be Autumn Blaze and Harvest Table! These new booths will “focus on fall food and flavors,” according to Kevin Downing, the Chef de Cuisine for EPCOT Festivals. We spotted mention of them in the seasonal newsletter for Disney Visa cardholders — Disney Insider. “We are going beyond the usual seasonal ingredients like apples and pumpkins and using other foods that capture the flavors in unique ways, such as a brined pork tenderloin with fennel slaw at Autumn Blaze and a wild game chili at Harvest Table,” Downing said. Frozen Pomegranate Tea at the 2023 EPCOT Food and Wine Festival Last week, some of the festival prep became evident in EPCOT, as we saw some of the returning booths installed including Spain… Spain! …India… India! …as well as Coastal Eats, Noodle Exchange, and Hawai’i — Disney had previously confirmed that Passionfruit Cheesecake with Toasted Macadamia Nuts will be back on the menu at the Hawai’i booth! Passionfruit Cheesecake with Toasted Macadamia Nuts We also noticed that a booth has been moved near the new playground area (it looks like it was last year’s Bubbles and Brine or Char and Chop booth). Other dishes Disney has announced will return include the Apple Strudel with Vanilla Sauce at the Germany booth… Apple Strudel with Vanilla Sauce …Belgian Waffles with Berry Compote and Whipped Cream or Warm Chocolate Ganache at the Belgium booth… Belgian Waffle with Berry Compote and Whipped Cream …and Dark Chocolate Fondue with Berries, Pound Cake, and Meringues at the Alps booth. 22. When you’re driving through Disney World, you see all kinds of things that you don’t see on a normal highway. You might spot a Skyliner gondola above your car. You might see fireworks in the distance. You could even see a giant Mickey-shaped solar farm! Point is, you never know what you might see on the road. Be alert! Welcome to Disney World! During a recent visit to Disney World, we spotted something BIG on the road. It might look familiar — especially if you’ve ever visited Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground. Wanna see? OK, first, we need to give you some context. Disney recently debuted some new Disney Vacation Club Cabins at Fort Wilderness, and these sleek, modern new cabins take the place of the old log cabin-style houses you might have seen in the past. Here’s a peek at the OLD design. This type of cabin is no longer available in Disney World. Old Fort Wilderness Cabin Instead, Disney has replaced them with over 350 refreshed cabins. The new cabins are “inspired by the resort’s idyllic setting, while also paying homage to the resort’s unique culture and heritage through the magic of Disney storytelling.” Each one sleeps up to six adults and features one bedroom, one bathroom, a living room, a full kitchen, and a private patio. Here’s a peek inside! Room inside The Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort Disney went out with the old and in with the new — literally! We noticed that the old cabins were up for sale and could be delivered anywhere within a 200-mile radius. Yes, really. In fact, we spotted several cabins available to purchase for $49,900. Disney World Is SELLING the Old Fort Wilderness Cabins Now, that brings us all up to speed. Take a look at what we saw on the road in Disney World! It’s an old Fort Wilderness Cabin, driving down the road. Goodbye, old friend! Look at it go. You don’t see that every day! Clearly, Disney is still in the process of getting rid of the old cabins. One was even seen near the Grand Canyon! Bet you didn’t expect to see an old Disney World hotel room in the middle of the road, huh? Talk about an oversized load! Well, that made our drive through Disney World a little more interesting! You really never know what you might see. In the meantime, we’re always on the lookout for the latest Disney news, so stay tuned for more. FULL TOUR: We Got an Exclusive Look at the NEW Fort Wilderness Cabins in Disney World! 24. We’ve put a man on the moon. We’ve invented robots that can do all kinds of wildly impressive things. We’ve even invented a literal fountain that dispenses chocolate. What will we think of next?! Well, Disney’s newest Dole Whip creation is pretty high on our list of amazing human accomplishments. Wait until you see it. Refreshment Outpost Tucked away in an easy-to-miss part of EPCOT is the Refreshment Outpost. This spot has a small menu, and the options often change from season to season. But right now, there’s a new Dole Whip treat that deserves some extra attention. It’s not often we get to enjoy Dole Whip in a cone, but this is our formal request to make it more common! While Dole Whip is known for its fruity flavor, the sweet cone didn’t detract from the Dole Whip or feel out of place. You might think that the idea of combining a classic ice cream cone with Dole Whip would be like putting fruit juice over cereal, but trust us, it works. This is STUNNING! If you’re tired of the same old pineapple Dole Whip you can get around Disney World, we HIGHLY recommend giving this one a try. It’s SO photogenic, and it tastes as good as it looks. We love it when that happens! Don’t forget to try this one before it’s gone. In the meantime, we’re always on the lookout for the latest Disney news, so stay tuned for more. 25. Is there any music as iconic as Disney music? Just the first few chords of “Happily Ever After” can usually make an adult cry, right? All-Star Music Resort Throughout its long history, Disney has created some of the most loved songs in history, including earworms that have been playing non-stop since we first heard them (have we ever really stopped listening to “We Don’t Talk About Bruno“? NOPE!). Well, now some of those Disney songs are getting reimagined as pop-punk hits, including a brand-new song Disney just released with Canadian rock band A Simple Plan. Disney has announced the very first single from a brand new album called A Whole New Sound. The new song is a new version of “Can You Feel the Love Tonight” from The Lion King (which is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year — and yes, that makes us feel old) as performed by pop-punk band Simple Plan. It’s a brand-new take on a CLASSIC. You’ll now find the single on all the popular streaming sites, but you can also listen to it below. “We wanted to pay homage to Sir Elton John’s original version while also adding our own style to it and making it sound fun and energetic,” Simple Plan said. “We’re really stoked by how it turned out and we hope everyone will enjoy it.” The album, which will be available next year, will feature even more Disney songs reimagined by popular alternative, rock, and pop-punk bands. Disney also released the artwork for the album. ©Disney Simple Plan will be playing their version of “Can You Feel The Love Tonight” LIVE for fans at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event on August 9th, so if you have tickets to that, be sure to catch their performance!
