Despite online rumors to the contrary, Disney has confirmed that there is no ICE presence at Disneyland Resort via the Orange County Rapid Response Network. Sleeping Beauty Castle Rumors began making their way through Disney communities on social media over the past few days, amid ongoing ICE raids and clashes between protestors and law enforcement in Los Angeles and throughout the rest of the United States. The Orange County Rapid Response Network, a nonprofit that aims to respond to immigration enforcement activities and policies in Orange County, shared an update on its Instagram page. In it, the OCRRN said they spoke with Disney’s External Affairs team regarding these rumors, and Disney confirmed there is no ICE presence at Disneyland Resort. Pixar Pier at Disney California Adventure Disney said, “We can confirm that is not the case. We’ve gotten multiple reports throughout the day, but we checked them all and can report that there is no ICE presence at the resort.” via Orange County Rapid Response Network on Instagram Reports of ICE officials pulling Cast Members over at Disneyland began circulating online, with several people claiming they either saw ICE on Disney property or had heard about it from Cast Member friends and family, who claimed to have witnessed it. No photos or videos of any reported ICE officials at Disneyland have surfaced at this time. Scott Gustin also confirmed that Disneyland officials reported the online rumors as inaccurate and that business is operating as normal around the resort. The Anaheim Police Department also reported the rumor as false. via Scott Gustin on X/Twitter Still, there is a heavy ICE presence in the greater Los Angeles area, with protests getting closer to Disneyland in Anaheim. The National Guard is blocking off portions of the roadways close to the Civic Center. The National Guard is mainly located at the Santa Ana Federal Building, which is located about 7 miles away, approximately a 16-minute drive from Disneyland. Disneyland Resort parking garage If you’re heading to Disneyland soon, keep in mind that the mayor of Los Angeles, Karen Bass, issued a curfew for Downtown Los Angeles. The curfew started on June 10th and lasts from 8 PM to 6 AM. Disneyland Resort is located in Anaheim, California, which is south of Los Angeles. Universal Studios Hollywood, while closer to Los Angeles, is also not part of the curfew zone, but if you’ll be in the area, it could be important to know. Downtown Disney Anaheim Continue to watch local news to stay informed and to make the best decision for you and your family. We’ll be keeping a close eye on this to monitor its progress and its impact on Disneyland Resort. Disney has some pretty spicy free dining offerings and new lounges that could change the way Disney Adults dine at Disney World going forward! GEO-82 Per Disney, “The name GEO-82 is a nostalgic nod to Spaceship Earth — which opened in 1982. At GEO-82, you’ll be immersed in the storied history and enduring legacy of this timeless EPCOT icon.” Geo-82 This lounge offers dishes and drinks specially designed for the location that offer “global flavors blended with culinary artistry in classic cocktails and small plates.” The Lounge even offers a GEO-82 Fireworks Experience as part of Disney World’s Enchanting Extras Collection, where you can watch “Luminous: The Symphony of Us” from inside the lounge for an extra cost. Check out our full review below! FULL REVIEW: EPCOT’s NEW Adults-Only Lounge Is Officially Open! Another highly anticipated lounge is The Beak and Barrel over at Magic Kingdom! If we could give you advice for finding snacks on your Disney World trip, it would be to not knock the bakery case at cafes and quick service spots! We’ve found some of the best treats there, and we’re trying two more to see if they’ll become fan favorites. Kona Island Bakery Case We headed to Kona Island at Disney’s Polynesian Resort and searched the bakery case for new treats to try. We tried the Chocolate Haupia Tart with toasted meringue for $5.99. Chocolate Haupia Tart If you’re not familiar, a haupia tart is a traditional Hawaiian treat with a coconut filling. This version wasn’t too strong on the coconut but allowed the other elements to shine. With the milk chocolate top and the marshmallow meringue, it reminded us of a s’more! Grab a bite! The custard was smooth, with little crunches inside, like crispy pearls or Rice Krispies. The crust was buttery and flaky, too! There was a single coffee bean on top, and believe it or not, that’s what added our favorite flavor. It turned into an espresso flavor in that one bite, and we would have loved more to try. For the size, this leaned a bit expensive, but if you’re staying at the Polynesian and eyeballing that bakery case, this is a solid choice. SO pretty, even on the inside Next, we tried the Coconut-Pineapple Choux with fresh whipped cream for $7.29. STUNNING! This little cream puff has a light coconut and pineapple filling inside. The cream puff itself was a little soggy from sitting in the bakery case for a bit, but we loved how creamy and light the filling was. It brought in a tropical feeling, and it wasn’t overly sweet or too strong. The whipped cream on top tasted homemade, which is always a nice touch. We love homemade whipped cream! While we wish the choux was a bit more crispy, we loved the flavors, and we appreciated that it wasn’t a heavy dessert (maybe so we can try more snacks!). The flower on top was made of fondant, and the circle was made of white chocolate, which helped bring the beautiful presentation and added a little more sweetness. So much filling! If you’ve been following DFB for a bit, you might have heard of our favorite, Mickey Chocolate Choux! Mickey might still be winning on this for a bit because of the crunchiness paired with the chocolate flavor, but we don’t think you could go wrong either way. Mickey Chocolate Choux We love grabbing a quick snack while walking through the Polynesian, and either of these options is a good choice. According to USA Today, Silver Airways has ceased all operations as of June 11th, 2025. The abrupt canceling of all flights occurred after Silver Airways attempted to restructure in bankruptcy. The carrier operated flights in Florida, the Bahamas, and the Caribbean, but all flights were canceled as of June 11th. ©Silver Airways The airline messaged passengers, writing, “Please do not go to the airport. All credit card purchases should be refundable through your credit card company or your travel agency.” The result was 52 canceled flights on Wednesday, and lots of travelers left scrambling to find new flights. Silver Airways shut down after an attempt to restructure in bankruptcy. According to ABC Action News, Silver Airways entered into a transaction to sell its assets to another airline holding company. That airline holding company decided not to continue Silver Airways’ flight operations in Florida, the Bahamas, and the Caribbean. Now, passengers booked on Silver Airways’ flights are left searching for other flight options. ABC Action News reported that alternate flight options for this weekend are hundreds of dollars because of the short notice. ©Silver Airways According to USA Today, it is rare for airlines in the U.S. to go out of business. Usually, they are “purchased by another airline or folded into another company’s operations.” A few smaller regional airlines went out of business during the pandemic, and Tailwind was the most recent airline to go out of business in 2024. Larger carriers usually reshuffle their service when an airline goes out of business. ©Silver Airways While Silver Airways has officially ceased operations, some airlines are also teaming up to provide better experiences for travelers. JetBlue and United Airlines recently announced a collaboration that allows travelers to earn bonus miles and loyalty benefits across both airlines. Plus, travelers can book flights for both airlines on either website. While the collaboration, called Blue Sky, is expected to roll out in the fall, it is still subject to regulatory approval. A necklace found deep in the Atlantic Ocean is now at home in Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition, the Orlando attraction devoted to the story of luxury liner. The attraction, which operates on International Drive, is featuring the newly conserved item that was taken from the debris field of Titanic in 2000. The ship, on its maiden voyage from England and bound for New York City, sank after striking an iceberg in 1912. “We’ve been recovering artifacts so long, and we’ve had the same things on display for so long, so to be able to bring something new to the public is a very big deal for us,” Tomasina Ray, president of RMS Titanic Inc. and director of collections, said after the jewelry was revealed. Attractions visitors will see the necklace in the “Life Onboard” room, which showcases items that passengers would have used on the ship. The necklace is made up of black glass hearts that experts think were meant to imitate jet, a rare gemstone used in mourning jewelry. The artifact “is not just an object, it’s a symbol,” Ray said. “It speaks to the power of conservation and the profound loss of history that occurs if we’re not able to recover these artifacts among the large wreckage of Titanic on the ocean floor.” The piece initially was unrecognizable as sediment fused with it while resting about 2.5 miles below sea level for almost nine decades. The discovery and recovery process was meticulous, Ray said. “It’s using little tools and little picks and just kind of pulling away the material and the layers until you find something, and then you excavate around that,” she said. “You just keep moving through the piece until you find what you have. And this literally unwound itself, piece by piece, bead by bead.” Officials have not tied the necklace with any of the 3,700 people aboard Titanic, Ray said. “We always try. … We learn new things all the time because there are new resources that come online, there are new resources and information that other people discover that helps us find new things,” she said. “This was found pretty much isolated with just fragments of little bits of paper that we can’t read and little pieces of metal,” Ray said. “We’re currently going through insurance claims, but if the person didn’t survive, they can’t make a claim. … So it’s very unlikely that we will ever know.” Tomasina Ray, president of RMS Titanic Inc., speaks about the conservation of a 2-ton section of the Titanic’s hull, the largest artifact at Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition in Orlando. (Willie J. Allen Jr./Orlando Sentinel)The I-Drive attraction full-scale room recreations of the ship and galleries featuring first class area, a cafe and the grand staircase. It holds almost 200 artifacts that were recovered from the wreck site. The finale including a a 2-ton section of the ship’s hull dubbed “The Little Piece.” That artifact, moved into the attraction in 2012, also has conservation underway, fending off corrosion. (“The Big Piece,” weighing 15 tons, is in the company’s Las Vegas location.) “As part of our ongoing commitment to the conservation and stewardship of these artifacts, everything that we bring up from the ocean floor, we maintain and we care for in perpetuity, so that it’s here for generations to come,” Ray said. You know the drill: early in the morning, 60 days before the first day of your Disney World trip, you’re up and ready to start making those Advance Dining Reservations. We’ve ALL been there. Sleep, who needs sleep when you need to get reservations for that MUST restaurant in Disney World or Disneyland? Dessert Trio at Be Our Guest You also know that getting some of those reservations is HARD, but a new update to the Disney World and Disneyland websites is trying to make that a little easier by letting you search for an expanded date range and additional filters to help you find the perfect meal. A new update is rolling out to the Disney World and Disneyland websites that will let you find dining reservations a little easier by letting you view dining availability for up to 10 days (we knew about this part, but we’re getting to the changes). That means if you can’t get that MUST GET reservation on the first day of your trip, you can easily search for availability for EVERY day of your trip in one fell swoop. But now, you can search multiple restaurants for multiple days instead of just one! ©Disney Well, a new update is rolling out to both website where you’ll see multiple dates that you can choose from to search at the top above the restaurant list (note that we aren’t seeing this yet, so thanks to @scottgustin for the screenshot). ©Disney All you have to do is start on the Disney World or Disneyland dining page on the website. You can either search by restaurant or search for ALL availability. There are also filters you can use to choose restaurant type and more. If you choose “Check all Availability,” you’ll need to enter your party size and a specific date, but then you’ll get a list of all restaurants with availability and you can click on “Check Availability for multiple days.” ©Disney You can also filter out your choices by locations and restaurant type. ©Disney If you’re choosing a specific restaurant, you can also click on “Check Available Days” to check for multiple dates. You’ll get the opportunity to choose a 10-day date range. ©Disney You’ll then get a list of every date that there’s availability at that restaurant, as well as times available. You can narrow it down by times, as well. ©Disney Note that these changes only seem to be available on the Disney World and Disneyland websites and not on their respective apps, but we’ll keep an eye out for changes to the apps, too, and let you know if we see any. Brian Wilson, founding member of The Beach Boys, has passed away. ©Getty Images According to NPR, he died at 82 from a neurocognitive disorder. The Wilson family said, “We realize that we are sharing our grief with the world.” Wilson has many notable achievements, such as forming The Beach Boys in 1962 with his brothers, cousin, and friend. ©Disney+ He had a huge connection to The Walt Disney Company. One of them was appearing in the 1965 film, The Monkey’s Uncle, where they performed the song, “The Monkey’s Uncle” alongside Annette Funicello. ©Disney His music and music videos were frequently shared on The Disney Channel, and his songs were often set to footage from Disney animation on DTV. The Beach Boys’ songs appeared in many Disney television shows, including WandaVision, and they were featured in special episodes of shows like Home Improvement. ©Getty Images Wilson’s music also played in many locations at the Disney theme parks. Many of their songs were played as background music in Paradise Pier at Disney California Adventure from 2001 to 2012, as well as at the entrance of DCA. “California Girls” was parodied into “California Bears” in Country Bear Vacation Hoedown, the summer overlay of Country Bear Jamboree at Disneyland and Tokyo Disneyland. “Good Vibrations” was parodied as “Good Nutrition,” featured in EPCOT’s Food Rocks attraction from 1994 to 2004. ©Disney Wiki You can watch a documentary called The Beach Boys on Disney+ to learn more about their legacy. With the opening of Epic Universe, plenty of people have been traveling to Orlando to experience Universal’s newest park. Since they’re already there, people have also been going to Universal Studios Orlando and Islands of Adventure as a part of their vacation. Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Islands of Adventure Universal just announced a bunch of temporary ride closures coming to Islands of Adventure this year. If you’re planning a Universal trip for the summer or later on, you’re going to want to take note of these closure dates. We knew a couple of attractions were going to go down for a little bit for some refurbishment. However, it looks like the closure list is expanding. There is a decent amount to do at Islands of Adventure to still keep you busy, but nobody likes when your vacation is impacted by closures. Universal’s Islands of Adventure There’s going to be a total of FIVE temporary closures at the park. Barring any changes or additions, that list includes: Dr Doom’s Fear Fall Dudley Do-Right’s RipSaw Falls Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey Skull Island: Reign of Kong Nighttime Lights at Hogwarts Castle Doctor Doom’s Fearfall Doctor Doom’s Fear Fall is scheduled to be closed from June 16 to June 20th, 2025. The ride is located in Marvel Super Hero Island and is a free-falling attraction themed after the iconic Marvel villain. It’ll only be closed for four days, so nothing too long. There are a few other attractions to do in the land like Spider-Man, Hulk, and Storm. Dudley Do-Right’s RipSaw Falls RipSaw Falls will be closed from October 6th to October 31st, 2025. The iconic water ride that’s bound to get you soaked will be closed for almost the whole month of October. Islands of Adventure offers two other water rides that you’ll have to go on instead of this one during that time. We’re talking about Popeye’s and Jurassic Park — which are both beloved rides. Projection show on Hogwarts at Universal Orlando We’re sorry, Harry Potter fans, but there are two closures around the popular franchise. The popular Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey ride located in Hogwarts Castle will be closed from November 3rd to November 16th, 2025. On top of that, the Nighttime Lights at Hogwarts Castle will also be temporarily closed. Although it wasn’t posted how long that will be closed for. It most likely is closed for as long as the ride is, considering they share the same building. Skull Island: Reign of Kong Skull Island: Reign of Kong is the last of the five attractions being closed, as it won’t be running from August 20th to August 29th, 2025. It seems like all these attractions will only be closed for a short period of time, and at different times — making planning a little easier. Experiment 626 is on the loose! To celebrate the end of the school year, Stitch went on a tour around Central Florida, surprising teachers at Hamilton Elementary, Deerwood Elementary, College Park Middle, Tavares Middle and North Lakeland Elementary. In addition to a little mischief, the visits were filled with magic as teachers at each of the schools received Walt Disney World park tickets. Disney World also announced a new $500,000 donation that will help fund local education programs. Disney’s donation will benefit The Foundation for Orange County Public Schools, The School District of Osceola County, Lake County Schools Foundation, Polk County Schools Foundation and Seminole County Schools Foundation, as well as four organizations supporting youth development: Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts, Orlando Philharmonic, ELEVATE Orlando and A Gift for Teaching. “We’re thrilled that Disney is making such a considerable donation to our education foundation,” said Fred Heid, Superintendent of Polk County Public Schools. “It’s exciting for me as the superintendent to be able to afford new opportunities for our students.” In addition to these visits from Stich, Disney Imagination Campus invited teachers and administrators from each school district for an exclusive day of Disney fun where they’ll have the chance to take inspiration from the living laboratory at EPCOT and bring it back to their classrooms. “This means the world,” said Adam Cody, a Deerwood Elementary School teacher. “It’s amazing to get the recognition from our district and Disney. There really are no words to describe how special it makes us feel.” Coincidentally, Adam worked at Walt Disney World as a monorail pilot before heading to college to become a teacher. He’s taught in Osceola County Public Schools for 25 years now and this visit from Disney helped bookend his career as an educator as he officially retired at the end of this school year. With these visits underway, the summer fun has just begun! Disney World will soon host The World’s Largest Swimming Lesson at Typhoon Lagoon, collect school supplies for Florida students during the resort’s Back-To-School Supply Drive and more. Muppet*Vision 3D closed down, and Disney is already moving right along! New walls up! The walls have been put up, and Disney is now teasing us with brand-new concept art for Monstropolis, the Monsters, Inc.-themed land replacing the Muppets. So far, Disney has released three concept art images for Monstroplis. The first one is an inside look at the first Monsters, Inc. roller coaster. You’ll hop on and slide through the coaster like you’re one of the hanging doors from the movie. ©Disney They then posted two different concept art images from when it felt like Imagineering had not yet decided which space in Hollywood Studios they wanted to use. This one reminded us of Muppets Courtyard. ©Disney Here’s another look! This one has a similar layout to Animation Courtyard. ©Disney The new concept art posted on the walls outside of Muppets Courtyard look like a spitting image of the original Muppets area! New concept art! It appears that they’re retaining all the structural buildings. We can see that the Muppet*Vision Theater still stands, but it now has a marquee sign outside. Maybe another comedy show? The sign reads “The GLOB,” and even the clock tower from the original attraction remains. The GLOB The large building to the left was PizzaRizzo, and it appears that the building remains unchanged. We’re assuming this will continue to be a quick-service spot, but we don’t have any clues as to what it could be. Old PizzaRizzo building Near where Mama Melrose was, it appears to be being converted into Harryhausen’s, the Japanese restaurant featured in the movie. Harryhausen’s Behind that is the new area where the roller coaster will be. This is currently a backstage area, so Disney is opening up the walls and expanding the whole area. This is where the coaster is going! Looks like the Miss Piggy fountain is staying, but we’d imagine Miss Piggy is relocating somewhere else. We’re glad the fountain isn’t leaving! In one of the original concept art pieces, it appears that a playground was initially planned, and that idea is still in place. If you look very closely under the colored awnings, you can see what looks like something you can climb on. Playground With all the buildings around, it truly makes it feel like a city, and that’s been an image that has stuck around since the original concept art. We don’t have any opening dates for Monstropolis but while we’re sad to see the Muppets leave, we’re welcoming Mike and Sulley with open arms. The Walt Disney Company and NBCUniversal filed a suit on June 11th against AI company Midjourney over alleged copyright infringement, Axios reports. Disney and Universal The lawsuit alleges that Midjourney’s image-generating service “functions as a virtual vending machine” that creates “endless unauthorized copies” of copyrighted works. Disney and Universal filed the suit in the U.S. District Court in Los Angeles, marking the first major legal action that studios have taken against an AI company. The studios are suing Midjourney for alleged direct and secondary copyright infringement by using the studios’ intellectual property to train their language model and by displaying AI-generated images of their copyrighted characters. Magic Kingdom Both companies claim that they tried to speak with Midjourney about the problem before going the legal route, but Midjourney did not take the problem seriously, despite other generative AI platforms that allegedly did heed the warning. A copy of the court documents indicates that Midjourney “continued to release new versions of its Image Service, which, according to Midjourney’s founder and CEO, have even higher quality infringing images.” Universal Orlando The lawsuit alleges, “By helping itself to Plaintiffs’ copyrighted works, and then distributing images (and soon videos) that blatantly incorporate and copy Disney’s and Universal’s famous characters—without investing a penny in their creation—Midjourney is the quintessential copyright free-rider and a bottomless pit of plagiarism. Piracy is piracy, and whether an infringing image or video is made with AI or another technology does not make it any less infringing.” Walt Disney Company Headquarters ©LA Times “Our world-class IP is built on decades of financial investment, creativity and innovation — investments only made possible by the incentives embodied in copyright law that give creators the exclusive right to profit from their works,” said Horacio Gutierrez, senior executive vice president, chief legal and compliance officer of The Walt Disney Company. Kim Harris, executive vice president and general counsel of NBCUniversal, said, “We are bringing this action today to protect the hard work of all the artists whose work entertains and inspires us and the significant investment we make in our content. Theft is theft regardless of the technology used, and this action involves blatant infringement of our copyrights.” ©NBC Disney and Universal are seeking unspecified maximum statutory damages, an accounting of Midjourney’s proceeds from the alleged infringement, and injunctive relief. While Congress has considered new laws regulating AI, the Motion Picture Association believes that existing copyright law is sufficient, according to Deadline. The suit continues to accuse Midjourney of being “the quintessential copyright-free-rider and a bottomless pit of plagiarism,” and that the “infringement is calculated and willful.” It’s also interesting to note that in 2024, for the first time ever, Disney began paying lobbyists to lobby for AI-related bills in Congress. ©Disney This is a developing situation, and we’ll be on the lookout for additional updates. Yo-ho, yo-ho, a pirate’s life for me! That’s what we’re going to be singing when the new pirate-themed lounge opens in Adventureland in Magic Kingdom. ©Disney It’s called The Beak and Barrel and will be a fun spot to grab a drink for guests of all ages while feeling like you entered the world of Pirates of the Caribbean. We’re not quite sure when it’s opening, but to fill in the time while we’re waiting for more details, we’ve been overanalyzing the concept art. We’ve discovered some hidden details that are making us even more excited! One of the first things we noticed was beer on tap! Finding beer on tap throughout Disney World is not an easy feat, especially in Magic Kingdom. Beer lovers are going to be thrilled to have this option during their park day. ©Disney Speaking of drinks, does that look like a souvenir cup to you? It does to us! It appears that some drinks will be available in a specialty cup that you can likely take home for an additional cost. This one looks like a skull! ©Disney Disney told us that there will be interactive elements around the room, but whether these are on a timer or when people order specific drinks like in Trader Sam’s, we aren’t sure. It looks like these five miniature bottles will “come alive and engage in a fearsome battle.” ©Disney We can also see a cannon on top of a door frame. Do you think this will light up and make fog during your visit? ©Disney In one concept art piece, it looks like a Cast Member is standing on the bar doing a show. We’re not sure if this is a bartender who is very enthusiastic or a specific entertainment Cast Member, but it definitely looks like Cast Members of the tavern will help bring the story to life. ©Disney For guests, there seem to be a few interactive elements throughout the tavern. One bucket is full of swords, and we can see a telescope. These might be bolted down and may not be fully operational, but we’re crossing our fingers that we can play around a little. ©Disney OMG. Look at that! That looks like the foot that hangs down in the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction. ©Disney If you don’t stare at it as you pass under it, what are you doing? The foot! It also looks like guests will be entering through the jail. We can see jail bars, handcuffs, and chains, as well as markings on the wall. ©Disney We’re thinking this will be based on the three pirates in jail on the ride! Pirates of the Caribbean In the Captain’s Quarters, the walls are covered in artwork that has been slashed and burned by pirates throughout the years. If we look closer, one picture shows a boat being taken down by what is most likely a Kraken. ©Disney On the other wall, that mermaid has a very familiar color scheme! In another portrait, the Captain is steering the boat, and we can’t 100% identify who it is, but it does resemble Captain Barbossa. ©Disney Disney has not announced any opening dates or timelines beyond late 2025, but we’ve been waiting and waiting for more details. We’re going to bring all the details here to you at Disney Food Blog, so make sure you’re following to stay up to date. DISNEY IS SUDDENLY OPENING 2 NEW LOUNGES…BUT WHY? ALERT! A Popular Magic Kingdom Snack Has CHANGED
Disney4me posted a topic in Disney Food/Restaurants
Last week, Disney World shook up a LOT of its restaurant menus. Gaston’s Tavern in Magic Kingdom We watched a favorite snack disappear forever from Disney’s Hollywood Studios, but we also got to see NEW food arrive in Disney’s Animal Kingdom. We also noticed a snack SWAP happening in Magic Kingdom, so we had to go over to Gaston’s Tavern to investigate. Don’t worry, that Cinnamon Roll at Gaston’s Tavern is safe and you can still get it (sorry, we don’t want anyone to panic). However, previously, we tried the Ham and Gruyere Tart, which was crispy croissant dough topped with ham and gruyere served with chips. Ham and Gruyere Tart Well, the Ham and Gruyere Tart is now gone and has been replaced with a Ham and Gruyere Sandwich. However, the ingredients remain the same. It’s Crispy Croissant Dough filled with Ham and Gruyère served with Chips. So, basically, this snack just changed its form… and price. The previous snack was $9.49, but the new sandwich snack is $10.79. However, as we noted, this time, you get it with chips, so that price increase is probably justified. Ham and Gruyere Sandwich We’re happy to report that it’s still a fantastic savory snack. We also loved how the cheese on the inside got a little gooier in the heat. The ham is nice and salty that goes so well with that cheese. The ham is sort of folded over in the sandwich, so you get a lot of it in one bite. There’s also some cheese broiled onto the croissant part of the sandwich, so it’s SUPER cheesy (that makes it a win with us). It’s still tasty This is a great lighter meal or something that could serve as a snack to tide you over before a bigger meal. You could also even share it if you just wanted a savory snack. Overall, we’d get this again. Inside Stay tuned to DFB for more. WE KNOW – there are SO many great snacks at Disney World! Amid ongoing political tension in California, the mayor of Los Angeles, Karen Bass, issued a curfew for Downtown Los Angeles. The curfew started on June 10th and lasts from 8 PM to 6 AM. ©LACity.Gov This curfew comes as protestors and law enforcement continue to clash over Immigration & Customs Enforcement (ICE) operations. Mayor Bass stated that officers from police and sheriffs departments from across the state are working alongside LAPD through a unified command structure. As the situation continues, who is impacted by the new curfew? Here’s what we know. This is a developing story. Stay tuned for additional updates. When Disney World gets rid of one of our favorite snacks, you KNOW we take notice — and we know we’re not the only ones. Sleepy Hollow For example, we recently lost that lovely Toffee and Coconut Brownie in Disney’s Hollywood Studios that we’ve loved since the 50th Anniversary Celebration. Last year, we briefly lost the Hush Puppies at Columbia Harbour House in Magic Kingdom, and we griped about it…a lot. Then the Hush Puppies came back! We also lost the waffles at Sleepy Hollow when the round waffles were replaced with Mickey waffles…that just didn’t hold up. Well, y’all, another snack miracle has happened, because the Mickey waffles are gone and the old waffles are back!!! We noticed a menu change at Sleepy Hollow where we saw the Mickey waffles removed and regular waffles added. So we went to Sleepy Hollow to check them out. Now, we usually love Mickey-shaped food, but the Mickey waffles were spongey and just get slippery with lots of toppings, making them harder to eat than the previous round-shaped waffles. The Mickey waffles at Sleepy Hollow So how do the new round-shaped waffles stack up? We dropped by Sleepy Hollow to find out. We grabbed with the Waffle with Sweet-and-Spicy Maple Chicken for $12.29. This waffle is served with Maple-Sriracha Glaze and Parsley Flakes. This one is a must for chicken and waffle fans. The good waffles are BACK — they’re nice and crispy (save for where there’s a lot of sauce on them) and fluffy on the inside. The sauce is mostly sweet, but there’s a kick of spicy, but not TOO much. The chicken tenders are nice and juicy. We’re BACK, baby! Waffle with Sweet and Spicy Maple Chicken We also grabbed the Waffle with Chocolate-Hazelnut Spread, Bananas, Berries, and Whipped Cream for $9.49 served with Chocolate-Hazelnut Spread, Bananas, Berries, and Whipped Cream. So this waffle did get a little soggy because of all the sauce, so eat it fast (that’s probably not a problem for most). The combo of the berries and chocolate-hazelnut are so good and the whipped cream is a nice creamy addition. Also, again, the good waffles are back.
