Universal’s 4th of July is about to get EPIC! We, my friends, have fireworks As Universal’s new theme park enters its first summer season, Epic Universe seems prepped to ring in its inaugural Independence Day with a BANG! Early in the afternoon of July 4th, Universal announced through their app that the park will be presenting a July 4th Evening Celebration at 9:00 PM. ©Universal While little information is provided within the app, the attached image as well as location on the park map, likely indicate a fireworks and perhaps a drone show similar to the display that coincided with the park’s official opening to the public back in May. ©Universal The show will join CineSational at Universal Studios Florida as Universal’s evening entertainment spectaculars on the holiday, though there is no mention of any special 4th of July elements being added to CinSational. CineSational Meanwhile, Walt Disney World will be offering Disney’s Celebrate America! – A Fourth of July Concert in the Sky fireworks show at the Magic Kingdom at 9:20 PM, and the Heartbeat of Freedom holiday tag will run at 9:15 PM at EPCOT following the 9:00 Luminous The Symphony of Us. The sky just lights up with this show Epic Universe’s first 4th of July set to culminate with an EXPLOSIVE finale. Stay tuned to DFB for more. Happy Fourth of July! Frontierland dance party (2024) We’re coming to you live from Disney World where it’s not only summer, but is a big summer HOLIDAY that’s often extremely crowded in the parks. But how big are the crowds really? We’re here in Magic Kingdom to bring you all the latest updates so you know what to expect! At the start of the day, we took a look at the crowds heading into the Transportation and Tickets Center and it was clear that the crowds are NOT what we expected. And by that, we mean, things were pretty chill at the Pretty light crowds The Monorail line wasn’t long at all, and there weren’t as many people as you might think trying to hop on the Monorail to get to Magic Kingdom. This is WILD, y’all. Monorail entrance The lines at the gate weren’t even long, making us wonder where all the people are. It does NOT feel like a holiday right now. This was around noon. Magic Kingdom entrance Inside, Main Street, U.S.A., we saw what is essentially a normal busy day in Magic Kingdom, but this looks like normal weekend busy and not holiday weekend busy. On Main Street, U.S.A. Adventureland wasn’t too wild either. Adventureland Ride wait times were lower than we expected, too. Jungle Cruise had a wait of 35 minutes, while Pirates of the Caribbean was at just 30 minutes. That’s it! Pirates of the Caribbean line A little later, wait times had gone up a bit. Jungle Cruise was up to 45 minutes, and Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, as well as Space Mountain and Tiana’s Bayou Adventure had hour-long waits. Tron Lightcycle / Run had a wait of 90 minutes. ©Disney Now we are sure that once it gets closer to fireworks time, crowds will be VERY heavy in and around the Hub and Main Street. This show, Disney’s Celebrate America! – A Fourth of July Concert in the Sky, only happens a few times a year, so people usually flock to this show. If you plan to grab a spot, we recommend getting one at least an HOUR before showtime. Be sure to stay tuned to DFB for all the latest Disney World news! A popular cruise line is making it more lucrative to sail with them in 2026 and beyond! ©Carnival Carnival Cruise Line may have a new ship debuting in 2027, but before then, it’ll make waves among the cruise industry by offering a brand-new loyalty program! Starting June 1st, 2026, Carnival Cruise Line will offer a new version of its loyalty program called Carnival Rewards! ©Carnival The current program — called Carnival VIFP Club — allocates 1 point per night you sail, with unlockable tiers based on said points. Taking after the frequent flyer model that airlines typically boast, this new reward system includes redeemable points and qualifiers to earn and maintain elite status. Instead of basing point distribution on nights sailing, it’ll instead be based on how much you spend. Under the new program, guests will earn 3 points for every dollar spent on eligible Carnival Cruise Line purchases such as fare, onboard dining and beverages, excursions, and spa services — “just about anything Carnival!” Additionally, each casino point remaining at the end of your cruise will be converted into 1 point. ©Carnival Per The Points Guy, points can also be earned outside of cruising dates. Spending on the Carnival World Mastercard will be rewarded and the new points system “will replace the FunPoints currently earned on the card, and existing cardmembers will see their current balances transitioned to the new program when it launches,” according to the report — which also adds that Carnival Rewards points can be redeemed for pretty much anything related to a Carnival cruise. ©Carnival As we previously mentioned, the new program will offer tiered statuses. Carnival will reward loyalty with Status Qualifying Stars that build up through four different tiers. Earning stars is the same way you earn points: You’ll get 3 stars for every dollar spent and 1 star for every casino point remaining after your cruise. at the end of your cruise. You can earn stars over a two-year window. Once you reach a certain status, it’ll remain valid for the remainder of that two-year period in addition to another two years, giving you plenty of incentive to strive for the higher tier. ©Carnival Carnival Rewards won’t be a total reset. Whatever status you have in the VIFP Club on May 31st, 2026, will translate to your starting level in Carnival Rewards for two years. With that said, folks who have Diamond VIFP status will keep that status for six years as an extra “thank you” for their loyalty. Regardless, all members grandfathered into the new loyalty program will need to meet the two-year qualification requirements before their transition periods end — otherwise, they will lose their benefits. The tiers, their qualifications, and their spending requirements every two years (casino activity not included) are as follows: Red — Given at sign-up Gold — 10,000 stars ($3,333.33) Platinum — 50,000 stars ($16,666.67) Diamond — 100,000 stars ($33,333.33) ©Carnival The benefits of each tier are as follows: Red — Earn and redeem points, member-only offers, member e-newsletter, and a complimentary 1.5L bottle of water Gold — Earn and redeem points, member-only offers, member e-newsletter, gold member support, one complimentary beverage on 5+ days, and one complimentary 1.5L bottle of water Platinum — Earn and redeem points, member-only offers, member e-newsletter, member collectible pin, platinum member support, one complimentary 1.5L bottle of water, two complimentary beverages, a complimentary Wash & Fold, priority Specialty Dining reservations, priority Main Dining reservations, early online check-in (16 days), embarkation priority, onboard priority, and debarkation priority Diamond — Earn and redeem points, member-only offers, member e-newsletter, member collectible pin, dedicated diamond support (sales & service), one complimentary 1.5L bottle of water, two complimentary beverages, a complimentary Wash & Fold, priority Specialty Dining reservations, guarantee Main Dining time, early online check-in (16 days), embarkation priority, onboard priority, debarkation priority, retail concierge services, and a special event invitation from the Captain. Of note, as of June 1st, 2026, the VIFP Club party on 5+ day cruises, $5 worth of complimentary arcade credits, a welcome treat on 5+ day cruises, the VIFP Club logo gift on every sailing, the one-time complimentary meal for two at a specialty dining restaurant, the one-time free cabin upgrade (or third, fourth, and fifth guests sail free), and the VIFP Club luggage tag set will NO LONGER BE OFFERED. ©Carnival The shift away from lifetime qualification in favor of new currency benefits is a fascinating move from Carnival, and we’re interested to see how it all pans out next year! EPCOT has become a beloved destination for Disney adults. Here we can find not just nostalgia, but some world-class food, drinks, and immersive cultural experiences. EPCOT With its World Showcase offering everything from authentic cuisine to creative cocktails, EPCOT is often considered the most “grown-up” of the Disney parks. For many, it’s a tradition to “Drink Around the World,” sampling beverages from each pavilion. But as this trend grows, some longtime fans are noticing a problem starting right at the first stop: Mexico. EPCOT’s Mexico Pavilion is a fan-favorite starting point for the iconic “Drink Around the World” experience. With its vibrant atmosphere, festive music, and strong, flavorful margaritas from spots like La Cava del Tequila, it’s easy to see why so many Disney adults kick off their international adventure here. Where are the Disney fans who pick Mexico over Canada to start? But lately, there’s been a growing trend that’s rubbing some seasoned visitors the wrong way — people going overboard on their very first drink. Mexico Pavilion Let’s be honest: Disney adults are all here to have a good time. But when guests start the day by slamming down tequila shots or ordering the most potent margarita without pacing themselves, it can quickly set the tone for a messy park experience. Slurred conversations, loud behavior, and even public stumbling not only ruin the vibe for others but can also cut your own day short. EPCOT is meant to be enjoyed leisurely, with each pavilion offering unique tastes and cultural moments, not just another stop on a bar crawl. We know it can be easy to do because those drinks are delicious, but let’s slow it down. Avocado Margarita Veteran Disney adults know the key is balance. If you’re planning to sip your way around the World Showcase, start slow. Hydrate, pair your drinks with food, and pace yourself to truly enjoy what each country has to offer. Setting a good tone in Mexico means respecting the space, the cast members, and your fellow guests. So next time you’re tempted to go all-in on drink number one, take a deep breath, raise your glass, and remember — it’s a marathon, not a sprint. Happy 4th of July to all who celebrate! HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY! Lots of people flock to Magic Kingdom and EPCOT for this holiday thanks to their special holiday offerings, one of the most popular being the fireworks in both parks. Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Disney’s Animal Kingdom often celebrate the holiday with special snacks or other offerings, but if you want a show at the end of your day filled with red, white, and blue, Magic Kingdom or EPCOT are the best parks to head to. And what does the celebration look like in Magic Kingdom? Check it out! We made sure to grab a spot early on for the fireworks, because they’re pretty popular! We certainly weren’t the only ones with that idea, and we noticed families grabbing spots EARLY. If you’re in the parks for any holiday with a special show, we recommend grabbing a spot between 45-60 minutes ahead of time. Look at the crowds! This show is different from Magic Kingdom’s usual Happily Ever After show, and only happens a couple of times per year. Again, another reason why it attracts a lot of crowds, so be prepared! This show is called Disney’s Celebrate America! – A Fourth of July Concert in the Sky and begins at 9:20 PM. It was busy from the castle, to down Main Street The show had a little bit of a pre-show, with a live DJ on stage in front of the castle! There’s a DJ! The show features so many awesome effects on and near the castle. There are projections, smaller fireworks, larger fireworks, and smoke effects. Let the show begin! The show is full of lots of red, white, and blue lights on the castle and fireworks in the sky. It’s certainly a great way to feel festive! They’re so beautiful! We can’t imagine celebrating the 4th of July without a big fireworks show, and this one is something special! Look at the sky! During the show, you’ll hear a lot of patriotic songs, like “America the Beautiful.” Music, fireworks, lights! The show truly is one-of-a-kind! The sky just lights up with this show Just look how beautiful the fireworks are! WOW Once you watch the Fourth of July fireworks, you can see what all the hype is about and why it gets so crowded to watch them! The show was amazing! Disney’s Aulani Resort & Spa — located in Ko Olina, Oahu, Hawai’i — is a Disney Vacation Club property with a TON of activities, restaurants, entertainment, recreation, character interactions, and more. Let’s go to Ulu Cafe! We’ve been spending some time at this resort, and while there’s plenty to do, we ARE Disney Food Blog after all. And that means we’re most excited about the FOOD! So, come with us to check out Ulu Cafe at Disney’s Aulani Resort & Spa! Atmosphere Ulu Cafe is a quick service spot with “delicious self-serve items or cooked-to-order specialties that you can take to go or enjoy on our covered patio with an ocean view.” It’s located on the first floor of the resort, right next to the Wailana Pool. Ulu Cafe Since this is a quick-service restaurant, you’ll place your order and pick it up at a counter (or you can Mobile Order!). You’ll find self-service condiments and drink stations here… Condiment station …along with plenty of seating — both covered and uncovered, but all of the seating is outside. Drink station So, what’s on the menu over at Ulu Cafe? We’re glad you asked! Menu Ulu Cafe serves up breakfast, lunch, and dinner depending on the time of day, and the menu is mostly comprised of grab-and-go items along with some made-to-order specialties. You’ll find breakfast sandwiches, acai bowls, poke bowls, burgers, pizza, and even traditional Hawaiian dinner plates. Ulu Cafe menu You’ll also find a variety of drinks — both alcoholic and nonalcoholic — on the menu here! Eats To kick things off, we grabbed the Spicy Tuna Poke Bowl for $22. This is made with ahi tuna, sriracha aïoli, fried shallots, chili water, and sushi rice. This was TRULY delicious — our reporter said it was one of the better poke bowls they’ve ever had. We did have high hopes because poke bowls are definitely a Hawaiian thing, but at the same time, it’s a Disney resort, so how authentic is it gonna be? But we were pleasantly surprised! Spicy Poke Bowl They loaded us up with toppings, including two different sauces and sesame seeds. They seasoned the rice in front of us — it was THAT fresh — and she put it all together right in front of us, too. It was so delicious and fresh. The tuna was so tender and flavorful and just perfectly cooked — every bite had so much of the toppings, and it all blended together to make this fun tropical dish. We did get the spicy tuna, and honestly, it was not spicy at all. It was very “Disney” spicy, but it had more flavor than actual heat. It’s a bit on the expensive side; however, tons of high-quality tuna were in this, and this was easily shareable. Spicy Poke Bowl Next up, we grabbed the Hawaiian Dinner Plate for $29. This comes with slow-cooked Hawai’ian-style kalua pork, poke, and two sides — we picked macaroni salad and a tropical salad. This seems pricey at first, but it was a LOT of food. This could have easily been shared between two people, maybe even two adults and a kid, or three not-so-hungry adults. Hawai’ian Dinner Plate Kicking things off with the kalua pork, which was just simple, tender, well-cooked pork. It was slightly sweet but not in a teriyaki way, and was just really hearty and delightful. What we loved about this was that it came with a little sample of poke if you want to try something a bit more adventurous, but still have an old standby with the pork and mac salad. Speaking of which, the mac salad was also one of the best we’ve ever had, which also isn’t surprising since Hawai’i is known for mac salad as well. It was super light and well-balanced, and it helped to sort of make for a creamier addition to a pretty meat-heavy plate. It was tangy, and the veggies and noodles were both cooked well. Macaroni Salad The dressing on the tropical salad was awesome — it was a tropical citrusy sort of vinaigrette that helped to cut through some of the richness of the other items on the plate. Again, this was kind of expensive for a walk-up quick service restaurant, but it was really high quality, and there was so much food that the plate could definitely be shared. Poke sample For dessert, we grabbed this adorable Olu Mel Cupcake. This is a pineapple macadamia nut cupcake with vanilla frosting on top — along with an Olu Mel white chocolate piece and sprinkles. There’s pineapple cream and pineapple preserves in here as well. Olu Mel Cupcake This is one of those classic Disney cupcakes that has a tower of cake in the middle of the frosting, so the frosting looks good. We didn’t think this had enough filling! We got the pineapple for sure, but we couldn’t really taste much of the macadamia, which was a bummer, and the cake was a bit on the dry side. We didn’t mind the cake’s texture, though; we just think if it had more filling, the dry side of the cake wouldn’t have been as apparent, but still, this was a really good cupcake. Olu Mel Cupcake We wrapped things up with the Pineapple Mango Cream Puff for $10. Look at how BIG this thing is! Definitely shareable, which makes the price sting a little bit less. Pineapple Mango Cream Puff This cream puff was one of the better bakery-case Disney desserts we’ve ever had. The cream puff dough was perfectly soft and chewy without being dense, which was surprising to us with its size. To be honest, we bought this one because it was pretty — but then it was actually really good! The pastry tasted just like a perfect cream puff — it was super flaky and airy, and then it had all this delicious cream, which was just like a well-made whipped cream. We didn’t taste a ton of the pineapple, but there were actual mango pieces, not only in the garnish but in the actual sandwich of the cream puff. We really enjoyed this, and it was super refreshing. It has coconut shavings on the outside, but it was not a very noticeable part of the treat. This was just a well-balanced, tropical pastry we’d recommend! Delicious! You can also pick up an Aulani Resort Refillable Mug for $25 at Ulu Cafe! We know, we know. It’s summer! Why are we already talking about the fall? Well, Disney World tends to get its seasons early, despite it feeling like summer almost all year round. Fall starts in August, so we’re already looking at what’s going to be the next big thing at Disney World. Fall at Disney World is so magical We asked our DFB reporters what trends we think are going to be big this fall. This one item is going to be everywhere at Disney World, and we’re obsessed. Meet Labubus! These are plush monster elves in different outfits that you can use as key chains. ©Pop Mart We’re already starting to see these everywhere at Disney World, but did you know that there are Disney labubus?! Plush keychains are big right now, and these fun little creatures take it to the next level. ©Pop Mart Right now, you can almost get everyone from Mickey and his friends as a Labubus. We’ve seen Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy, Pluto, Goofy, Chip, Dale, and Huey, Dewey, and Louie. ©Pop Mart Some people are taking it a step further and decorating their traditional Labubus with Disney accessories that they make. These Mickey ears are so cute, along with the balloon. ©Tenderlyllowblue on X We can’t pick a favorite — they’re all so cute! Which one do you like the best? We know these are already building up popularity in the parks, so we won’t be surprised if we start seeing them in Halloween costumes ready to party it up at Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. ©Pop Mart We are so excited for fall to start in Disney World, so if you see us pulling out our Mickey pumpkins early, don’t be surprised. Attention turkey bacon lovers, you may need to check that turkey bacon you have in your fridge. Turkey Bacon According to the USDA, a recall has been announced on Oscar Mayer turkey bacon products due to the bacon potentially being contaminated with Listeria. The Kraft Heinz Food Company of Newberry, SC, announced the recall of fully cooked turkey bacon that was produced from April 24th through June 11th, 2025. 3 NEW RULES We Can Expect at Test Track in EPCOT
Disney4me posted a topic in Disney Food/Restaurants
Test Track is speeding back into EPCOT this summer — but it’s not the same ride you remember. Test Track After over a year of being closed, Test Track is finally reopening at EPCOT on July 22nd, 2025, and yes, there are some big changes in store. From new rules in the queue to a reshuffling of Lightning Lane access, Disney is rolling out a fresh new version of this thrill ride — and with it, some fresh new systems you’ll want to understand before you show up ready to race. Here’s a quick breakdown of the changes you can expect when Test Track 3.0 hits the pavement. Let’s go over the new rules you’ll want to know before you ride. 1. There Are THREE Ways to Enter the Ride Now This might not be news to veteran EPCOT guests, but it’s worth pointing out that when Test Track reopens, you’ll have three choices for how to get in line: the Standby Entrance, the Single Rider Entrance, and the Lightning Lane. Queue entrance The Standby Entrance is your traditional wait-in-line-and-go route. The Single Rider line is usually a faster option, but you’ll be seated wherever there’s a gap, so if you’re riding with a group, you won’t be riding together. Then there’s the Lightning Lane, which skips the wait entirely (assuming you’ve reserved your spot ahead of time — more on that below). Bottom line: If you’re planning to ride Test Track during your EPCOT day, know what queue strategy works best for you before you get there. 2. Test Track Is Now a Tier 1 Lightning Lane Multi Pass Attraction Big change alert. When Test Track reopens, it’ll be part of EPCOT’s Lightning Lane Multi Pass system as a Tier 1 attraction. That’s a big deal for planning your day. Here’s how the new tiers will look starting July 22nd: Guests may choose ONE attraction from the following Tier 1 list: Test Track Frozen Ever After Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure Guests may choose TWO attractions (or all 3) from the following Tier 2 list: Soarin’ Around the World Disney & Pixar Short Film Festival Journey Into Imagination with Figment Living With the Land Mission: SPACE The Seas with Nemo and Friends Spaceship Earth Turtle Talk with Crush This change bumps Soarin’ out of Tier 1 and into Tier 2, which is kind of a win for folks who love that ride — it just became way easier to access with Lightning Lane. But it also means that if Test Track is your must-do, you’ll need to prioritize it over Remy or Frozen when locking in your Tier 1 pick. 3. No Virtual Queue — You’ll Need to Wait or Book Ahead Unlike Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, Test Track will not be using a Virtual Queue when it reopens. Virtual Queue That means if you want to ride and you didn’t snag a Lightning Lane reservation, you’re going to need to brave the Standby line or roll the dice with Single Rider. That’s a big departure from some of EPCOT’s other headliners, and it’s important for your game plan. For families who don’t want to split up and aren’t using the Lightning Lane Multi Pass, the wait time could get long fast, especially in the middle of the day. So… How Did We Get to Test Track 3.0? Let’s rewind for a second. Test Track has been around in some form for decades, and this isn’t its first overhaul. The original version opened in March 1999, replacing the beloved but slow-moving World of Motion. It was the first E-Ticket thrill ride at EPCOT and took riders through a simulated GM vehicle testing facility, full of rough road conditions, brake tests, and, of course, that iconic high-speed outdoor loop. ©Disney In 2012, the ride shut down for a total makeover, reopening that December as what fans call Test Track 2.0. This version added a design-your-own-car element, switched the overall vibe to something much more neon and digital, and shifted sponsorship to Chevrolet. That version stuck around for over a decade before closing in June 2024 for yet another major update. Test Track Now, in 2025, we’re getting Test Track 3.0 — and Disney’s Imagineers are pulling some nostalgia into the mix. They’ve said this version will pay tribute to the past, present, and future of transportation, with nods to World of Motion and new scenes that showcase how tech shapes our lives on the road. ©Disney Expect a new queue featuring six themed exhibits about the people and vehicles pushing boundaries. And on the ride itself, there will be more immersive show scenes (including an outdoor scenic route) meant to highlight the human side of innovation — friends, family, and the joy of the journey. Test Track If you’re planning to ride Test Track after July 22nd, there are a few things you’ll want to keep in mind before you hit the gas. First, figure out which of the three queue options makes the most sense for your group. The Standby line is always available, but it could get long fast, especially with no Virtual Queue in play. The Single Rider line might move faster, but you’ll be separated from your group and miss out on some of the main queue elements. And if you’re using the Lightning Lane Multi Pass system, remember that Test Track is now a Tier 1 option, which means you’ll have to choose it instead of Frozen Ever After or Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure. If this ride is a must-do for you, grab that Tier 1 reservation early. And finally, be ready for some serious traffic in that Standby line. With no Virtual Queue available, the only way in is to wait it out or book ahead. Test Track We recently got the chance to preview the NEW Test Track 3.0 before it officially opens, and you can check out our full thoughts here! We’ll be on the lookout for even more updates from Disney World that you need to know about. In the meantime, make sure you stay tuned to Disney Food Blog for the latest Disney news! FIRST LOOK! A NEW McDonald’s menu item is coming soon! We are suckers for a cute Happy Meal toy and a limited-time Shamrock Shake, and we may make more stops than we should by McDonald’s. What can we say, we are fans! McDonald’s To say we are excited about the new menu item debuting at McDonald’s is a slight understatement. However, we’re really hoping they include a free Pepcid in each bag, because we have a feeling we’re going to need one! Maybe we should stock up in advance, just in case? Now, the moment you have all been waiting for. Drum roll, please! Beginning July 8th, 2025, a new breakfast item is joining the McDonald’s lineup: the Spicy McMuffin Breakfast Sandwiches! Yep, yep, McDonald’s is bringing a bit of heat to your morning routine. @McDonald’s An important note, that as of right now, the Spicy McMuffin sandwiches are a “limited-time glow-up.” McDonald’s hasn’t said precisely how limited the time they are, so if you want to grab one, you’d better head over sooner rather than later. The base of the sandwich is staying the same, but each sandwich is getting a shot of McDonald’s signature Spicy Pepper Sauce. Ba da da da da, i’m lovin’ it! Starting July 8th, you can grab the Spicy Egg McMuffin, the Spicy Sausage McMuffin, or the Spicy Sausage McMuffin with Egg. Now we have three more reasons to make a stop by McDonald’s! And three more reasons to always make sure we have a Pepcid with us. McDonald’s McDonald’s also recently announced new Happy Meal Toys, and we are a bit obsessed with them. The new toys are MINI toys, and they are inspired by what you might see at a McDonald’s restaurant. There is everything from a mini cash register to tiny fries and a tiny Boo Bucket. We may or may not be trying to collect all 21…and if you see us taking team outings to McDonalds, no you didn’t. ©McDonald’s Stay tuned to DFB for more McDonald’s news! When it comes to dining at Disney World, you’ve got so much to choose from. You’ve got options ranging from quick and easy, which are great for days you’re running around doing everything you can, while other sit-down, table service restaurant options are available for when you want to treat yourself and take a breather. Welcome to Disney World We recently stopped by Beaches and Cream Soda Shop at Disney’s Beach Club Resort to see what was cookin’, and now we’re bringing you our FULL review. This has been a fan-favorite for a really long time. Is it worth a stop on your next trip to the Most Magical Place on Earth? Find out here! Atmosphere One of the things we love about this restaurant is how bright and colorful it is. With its soda shop vibe, you feel like you’re stepping back in time to the 1950s or 1960s, especially thanks to the jukebox playing music from that time throughout your visit. Beaches and Cream jukebox! We love the design details here too — the fun ceiling fixtures and artwork of classic Disney characters especially caught our eye, and it truly feels like a fantastic fit for the rest of the Beach Club Resort atmosphere. We loved the artwork But enough about the restaurant — what’s on the menu here?! Menu What shocked us in the best way was the pricing! We very much appreciated the variety on the menu and the affordability. The menu! These prices aren’t bad at all, especially considering this is a table service restaurant at a deluxe Disney World resort. If you’re looking for ice cream treats and don’t really want to sit down, there is a to-go window option outside the restaurant that doesn’t require any reservations at all! Plenty of sweet treats And now, onto the main event — the food! Eats First up, we grabbed the French Dip Sandwich for $22. This is a Toasted French Roll served with Thinly Sliced Roast Beef, Swiss, and Au Jus, topped with Crispy-fried Onions, served with your choice of Potato Tots, French Fries, or Fresh Fruit. French Dip Sandwich We would have appreciated more sauce to dip the sandwich into, and we could have done without the crispy onion pieces in the sandwich — they just got soggy in between the other ingredients and fell apart when dipped in the sauce. Closer look at the sandwich We decided to get our meal with tater tots, and while they weren’t anything special, they certainly weren’t bad either — just middle-of-the-road tater tots. The fact that this sandwich was already cut in half for us was a bonus in our eyes, but other than that, this sandwich was just meh for us. We don’t think we’d get it again, but it’s certainly not a terrible option on the menu. The tater tots We also grabbed the Cheddar-Bacon-Ranch Chicken Sandwich for $21, which is Sautéed Onion, Lettuce, and Tomato on a Multigrain Bun served with your choice of Potato Tots, French Fries, or Fresh Fruit. Cheddar-Bacon-Ranch Chicken Sandwich This one unfortunately fell flat for us. The juiciness of the chicken on the outside made us believe we were in for some great flavors, but that’s just not what happened. We did enjoy the extra ground pepper taste it had to it, and while the bread threw us off a little at first, we did like the break from classic white bread. The sandwich We also enjoyed that everything was melted together well, as well as the dressing on here, but we think the sandwich would have benefited from more of that ranch sauce flavor. It certainly isn’t a bad chicken sandwich; it just didn’t WOW us. And it’s nice that it won’t completely break the bank. The sandwich cut in half Then it was time for what we were really looking forward to — DESSERT! You truly come here for the dessert. This spot is known for the Kitchen Sink and the No Way Jose. So keep that in mind! The No Way José is $13.50 and is A Peanut Butter and Hot Fudge delight featuring Chocolate and Vanilla Ice Cream, Peanut Butter and Chocolate Morsels, Whipped Cream, and a Cherry. This thing comes in a MASSIVE, deep bowl that’s likely easily shareable between 2-3 people. No Way José! There’s essentially a giant scoop of peanut butter at the bottom, so we found ourselves really needing to dig our spoon around to get a bite of everything all together, but we weren’t complaining! If you’re a big chocolate fan, this is 100% going to be a fantastic choice for you, but keep in mind that there are a LOT of toppings on top, and when it starts to melt, it’ll start coming out of the sides if it’s still full to the brim. It starts to spill out the sides! Now, if you’re a big peanut butter fan, this may not have enough peanut butter for you to really enjoy it, but if you just like hints of it in each bite, or you don’t need it to be the main flavor, you’ll likely really love this. It’s a classic for a reason, and we really enjoyed it! We loved it But is all of this worth a stop here? Well, let’s break it down Nosh or Not This Disney World restaurant is a must-visit if… You love ice cream and/or are looking for some great desserts You need a menu that’s safe for pickier eaters You really love the theming You should skip this Disney World spot if… The quality/taste of your main meal items is more important than the taste of dessert You’re not staying here or going to EPCOT You’re looking for a meal that will really wow you Overall We can really see why this restaurant is a favorite of many Disney fans. While the menu has some great, more interesting options, they’re also safe for almost all eaters, making it picky-eater-friendly. We think the best way to sum it up here is “come for the desserts, stay for the food” — we really do think the desserts are the star of the show here, but the meals aren’t bad at all. We do still think this is a fun stop if you and your kiddos want to try some massive ice cream! The food isn’t going to blow you away, but the desserts are so exciting, and there really is something for everyone! Full spread! In the meantime, we’ll be on the lookout for more restaurant updates from Disney World and beyond. Make sure you stay tuned to the Disney Food Blog for the latest Disney news and more! We’ve been spending some time at Disney’s Aulani Resort, checking out all the sights, sounds, and of course — EATS! Wailana Pool Bar Aulani is unique — not just because it’s in Hawai’i, but because it’s home to an adults-only pool bar. Wailana Pool Bar is a quiet respite from the rest of the resort, which is fitting since wailana means calm or quiet. Come with us to check it out and grab one of the most iconic drinks on the menu! At Wailana, you’ll find plenty of tropical and fruity drinks, local Hawaiian cuisine, and classic poolside snacks like pizza, wraps, burgers, and salad. This spot serves drinks from 10 AM to 9 PM — but food service runs from 11 AM to 5 PM. We stopped by to grab one of the most popular drinks on the menu — the Lava Flow! Wailana menu This frozen concoction is made with Don Q Rum, Cream of Coconut, Strawberry Purée, and Pineapple Juice. You can get it for $16. If you’ve ever had a Piña CoLAVA at Disney World — this is essentially the same thing. It’s kind of a take on a piña colada mixed with a strawberry daiquiri — and it’s PERFECT for lounging by the pool. This one was well-balanced but did have a fair amount of rum in it, which we’re certainly not complaining about. Lava Flow We loved the addition of the floral garnish and pineapple slice — it really made this drink feel a bit more tropical and elevated. When we spoke with Cast Members, they told us this was one of the most popular drinks at the pool bar, which makes total sense to us! Consider grabbing one for yourself if you ever make your way to Aulani! YUM In the meantime, we’ll be on the lookout for the latest updates from Disney’s Aulani Resort and more Disney news. An iconic part of most Disney World vacations is watching fireworks with the ones you love. Happily Ever After in Magic Kingdom Magic Kingdom is the heart of Walt Disney World — where fairy tales come to life, nostalgia runs deep, and the day traditionally ends with a spectacular fireworks show lighting up the sky above Cinderella Castle. For many guests, watching the fireworks is a must-do moment, and over the years, certain “rules” have formed around the best way to experience them. But the truth is, those rules don’t work for everyone. Whether you’re trying to avoid the crowds, looking for a new perspective, or simply too tired to stick it out, there are plenty of ways to make the fireworks work for you, including breaking a few of the so-called rules. 1. Rule: You Have to Watch the Fireworks in Front of the Castle While the view from directly in front of Cinderella Castle is one of the best places to see the projections on the castle, it’s far from the only way to experience the fireworks. In fact, some of the most magical views are off the beaten path. Try watching from behind the castle in Fantasyland for a totally different — and often less crowded — perspective. Tomorrowland also offers surprisingly great views, especially if you’re moving between rides. Happily Ever After Not ready to stop riding attractions to catch the show? One of the most thrilling ways to catch the show is to hop on one that has a view of the fireworks. Granted, this is hard to time up, but a fun thing to do! Some good options are Big Thunder Mountain Railroad (when it’s reopened) and Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. And if you’re just looking to avoid the shoulder-to-shoulder crowds, hang back on Main Street near the train station — you’ll still see the show, and you’ll have a quick exit after it ends. Ride this DURING the fireworks — you get a show AND a ride! 2. Rule: You Should Watch Fireworks INSIDE of Magic Kingdom Yes, Magic Kingdom is the home of Happily Ever After, but that doesn’t mean you have to be in the park to enjoy the magic. Some of the best views come from outside the gates. Dining at California Grill atop Disney’s Contemporary Resort gives you a bird’s-eye view of the show, complete with piped-in music and a more relaxed atmosphere. You don’t have to be dining during the fireworks! In fact, if you grab an earlier dinner reservation, you simply keep your ticket and return to the host stand to return to the top to enjoy the show. Happily Ever After from the deck Other great options include the beaches at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort or at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort. These spots offer a more laid-back way to experience the fireworks, away from the heat and crowds — plus, no park ticket required. You can also take the boat to Disney’s Wilderness Lodge and grab a drink at Geyser Point Bar & Grill. They pipe in the music here as well. So many places to enjoy the fireworks 3. Rule: You HAVE to Stay for the Fireworks While fireworks are a staple of the Disney experience, they’re not a must for everyone. For guests sensitive to loud noises, those with small kids, or anyone just too exhausted from a long day in the parks, skipping the fireworks is totally okay. The crowds can be overwhelming, especially during peak seasons, and sometimes the Florida heat makes the idea of standing still for 20 minutes unbearable. If you’re not feeling up to it, give yourself permission to leave early or take a break somewhere quiet. Disney magic doesn’t disappear just because you missed a show — it’s still there in the memories you made all day long. I travel almost full-time for my job, and I’m constantly looking for clothes to add to my packing rotation. “Inflate the vest by pulling down on the red tabs.” I opt for clothing in solid, neutral colors that can layer well depending on the weather. I also want my travel wardrobe to be easy to clean — no dry clean only or hang to dry pieces, please. I recently stumbled on a dress at Walmart that meets all my requirements, and yes — I went back and bought it in every color! DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission. The Time and True Sleeveless Mix Tank Dress, priced at $17.98, has become the NEW MVP of my travel wardrobe! ©Walmart I’ve worn this dress through: Oppressive heat at Disney World A 5-hour airport delay Several domestic flights It’s as comfy as a tank and joggers but looks so much more put together. I haven’t had any problem with it wrinkling, and it has washed up great. VIEW ON WALMART.COM Why it’s my go-to: Machine washable and dryer safe (on low!) — and it comes out looking brand new every time. Lightweight, breathable, and wrinkle-resistant — it packs like a dream. Easy to dress up or down — throw on a blazer, cardigan, or pashmina for the plane. Pairs with sneakers, sandals, or slides — whether you need a good walking shoe or something dressy, this works. It has pockets. Say less. Available in solid, neutral colors — perfect for mixing and matching, or adding a pop of color with accessories. And I’m no fashion maven so you may disagree, but I think this dress looks way more expensive than it is. It honestly reminds me of some of my favorite travel pieces from Eileen Fisher and J.Crew — but without the triple-digit price tag. I recently wore the black version of this dress to the new adults-only lounge in EPCOT, GEO-82. The straps here are wide, so it’s easy to wear a “normal” bra with it, and the skirt is lined. I’m wearing it in an XL — and I would say the fit is pretty true to size. If you’re between sizes, though, I would go down, because the fit is forgiving. It’s the kind of dress you’ll reach for again and again — whether you’re heading out the door at home or hopping a plane. So yes… I bought it in every color. And I’m not even sorry. Is it too early to start talking about the most wonderful time of the year? It’s not our fault, Disney’s already talking about EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays, and now we’re excited! Festival of the Holidays One thing that we wish more people knew about at Disney is the Voices of Liberty; we LOVE them! They’re an amazing group of singers that you’ll find at the American Pavilion. They sing iconic American songs, absolutely captivating their audience with an outstanding performance. On top of that, the Voices of Liberty also perform during the holiday season — and we have some news for you! The Voices of Liberty perform during EPCOT’s popular and stunning Christmas show, the Candlelight Processional. Now you have the chance to be a part of it — and no, we are not pulling your leg! Disney is now hosting auditions to join the Voices of Liberty ensemble for the holiday season! Voices of Liberty Disney posted that “Disney Live Entertainment is actively seeking submissions from Ensamble Vocalists for the holiday cast of The Voices of Liberty for The Candelight Processional.” If you’re wanting to be a part of something like this, you can visit Disney Auditions for more details. They’re singing Christmas carols! On the Disney Auditions site, you’ll find helpful information on the audition process — including the songs to audition with, video upload information, and general requirements. How cool would it be to be a part of something like this!? Josh Gad narrating the 2024 Candlelight Processional The audition is specifically to be a part of the “eight-part vocal ensemble [singing] in tight harmonies as part of a mass choir and orchestra which retells the story of Christmas, narrated by a celebrity guest in EPCOT.” Anyone who is brought on board to be a part of the show will have contracts running from November to December. It’s really more of a part-time gig to provide a BIG opportunity! Candlelight Processional On the other hand, this means that Disney is confirming that the Candlelight Processional is BACK! Obviously, the show has been a big part of the festival for a long time, so we weren’t expecting anything different. That being said, we’re just excited they’re talking about it! Candlelight Processional As far as the rest of EPCOT’s International Festival of the Holidays, Disney hasn’t released any other information around it. This is understandable considering that we’re a long way away, and the Food and Wine Festival news just started to drop! Sweets and Treats! What we do know is that the EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays is that it’s full of activities, sights, sounds, smells, and lots of food and beverages from around the world. There will be storytellers who talk about holidays around the world, Holiday Kitchens representing various cultural dishes from around the world, and so much more! EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays! We can’t wait for this festival, and we’re excited to hear about more news dropping.
