An iconic Disney World restaurant made some changes to its menu! We always want you to have the most up-to-date information for your Disney World vacation, so we headed over to give these new items a try. Magic Kingdom We recently stopped by Be Our Guest in Magic Kingdom to try out some new menu items. Be Our Guest has added a few brand-new items and made some tweaks to existing menu items. Of course, we had to stop by to check them out, and now we’re bringing you our FULL review. Are these menu changes for the better? Find out here! Atmosphere At Be Our Guest Restaurant, you get to dine INSIDE Belle and Beast’s castle! The restaurant serves French-inspired cuisine in a completely immersive setting. You will be dining in one of three themed dining areas: The Grand Ballroom, The West Wing, or The Rose Gallery. The Grand Ballroom Each dining area features gorgeous designs and hidden details from the Beauty and the Beast movie. From vaulted ceilings adorned with chandeliers to figures of Belle and Beast, there is so much to look at while dining here. Belle and Beast Figures You might even spot Beast’s enchanted rose! The enchanted rose We highly recommend you take your time exploring this restaurant, there is so much to see! Be Our Guest Of course, while you are enjoying all the details, you will also need to decide what you want to dine on. Let’s take a look at what is on the menu! Menu Be Our Guest offers a prix fixe menu for both lunch and dinner. The meal costs $72 per adult and $43 per child. With the prix fixe meal, adults get one appetizer, one entree, and one dessert. Kids get to choose one appetizer, one entree, two sides, and one dessert. Starting with the adults, let’s take a look at the options for appetizers and entrees. ©Disney You can also choose to add some enhancements onto your meal. Then, you have three choices for dessert. ©Disney Kids have their own menu to select their appetizers and entrees from. ©Disney Along with their meal, kids will get to choose two sides and a dessert. ©Disney You can also choose to add-on a specialty beverage like a zero-proof cocktail or a signature non-alcoholic drink. ©Disney The menu also features specialty cocktails and private label champagne and wines. ©Disney You can also choose from sparkling drinks and wines. ©Disney Or you can also choose from a variety of beer and cider options. ©Disney Now that we have taken a look at the menu, let’s take a look at what we grabbed to eat and what has changed on the menu! Eats Like we mentioned before, Be Our Guest offers a prix fixe menu. You pay one price and get to choose an appetizer, entree, and dessert. There are additional enhancements and drinks you can add one as well. Both lunch and dinner cost the same, so no matter what time of day you are at Be Our Guest, you will be paying $72 per adult and $43 per child. We are here to check out some of the new menu items — as well as some menu items that got some updates! It’s time to eat! Your meal starts off with bread that is served with butter and oil. The butter and oil had some parsley flakes in it that add a good flavor. There isn’t anything super special about it, but it is hard to complain about a piece of fluffy baguette. It has a slight crisp to the outside and a nice fluffiness on the inside. A great start to a French-inspired meal! Bread Service For our appetizer, we grabbed the French Onion Soup. This soup is made with rich beef broth, sherry wine, and swiss cheese. French Onion Soup was previously on the menu, however, the description got an update from gruyere cheese to Swiss cheese. Here’s the thing though, technically gruyere cheese is swiss cheese. We did confirm with our server that it is still being made the same, though. It is possible the description change might have happened to be more recognizable on the menu, but we don’t know for sure. French Onion Soup. While the description might have changed, we are happy to report that this is still the classic French Onion Soup. It is cheesy with just the right amount of saltiness and creaminess to it. The broth is savory and flavorful, and the cheese is ooey and gooey. This soup can make your troubles melt away! French Onion Soup. We also gave the new Blue Crab Bisque Soup a try. This soup replaced the Potato and Leek Soup on the menu. It is finished with brandy, crème fraîche, and chive oil. The portion is great for an appetizer, and you get a lump of blue crab in the middle. Blue Crab Bisque Soup We thought this soup has just the right amount of briny seafood flavor. The soup is so creamy, and we loved that it was a bit thicker than most soups. We were very impressed with this new soup, and while we are sad the Potato and Leek had to go, this is a wonderful replacement. Blue Crab Bisque Soup For our entree, we got the Steak Frites. This dish features slow-roasted butcher’s steak, house-cut french fries, and red wine sauce. Steak Frites was on the menu previously — and we were huge fans! — but it used to be served with a hollandaise sauce, so we had to see if the red wine sauce was an improvement or not. Steak Frites The red wine sauce is tasty, but we prefer the hollandaise sauce that it used to be served with. The hollandaise sauce was creamy, and it added a bit more flavor to the dish. The red wine sauce makes this dish feel more upscale, but overall, we liked the hollandaise sauce better. This dish is still served with seasoned fries which are also very delicious. Steak Frites Here’s a peek at the old Steak Frites with the hollandaise sauce, just so you can compare visually: Steak Frites For dessert, we chose to try both the Crème Brûlée Tart and the Blooming Rose. These are both new desserts to the menu, so we had to give them a try! The Crème Brûlée Tart is made with orange custard, passion fruit meringue, and Chantilly cream. While we are a bit confused why they removed the Dessert Trio from the menu, we went into dessert with an open mind. Crème Brûlée Tart This tart is heavy on the citrusy, orange flavor. If you are looking for a classic Crème Brûlée, you will be a bit disappointed as this one is heavy on the orange. Now, we aren’t saying that we didn’t enjoy this dessert (spoiler alert, we did enjoy it and finished it all), but we kind of wish it was just a traditional Crème Brûlée. It has great flavors, but you will want to like citrus. Crème Brûlée Tart Finally, we finished off with The Blooming Rose. It is a chocolate cake topped with “The Grey Stuff.” The presentation is beautiful, but the taste did not impress us. Blooming Rose The bottom has a thin layer of chocolate cake that was very moist. The outside of the cake is coated with a milk chocolate that easily crumbles away when you break into it. Between the cake and the top, there are two layers of “Grey Stuff.” The first one was okay, but it wasn’t the consistency that we are used to. The second layer of “Grey Stuff” is a very gelatinous version that we weren’t fans of. Overall, we were disappointed in this dessert. Blooming Rose In addition to the items we ordered, the menu also added an Endive and Roquefort Cheese Salad. A few other menu items also got some changes. The Mixed Greens Salad changed from a goat cheese mousse and roasted tomato vinaigrette dressing to tomato, cucumber, and Dijon vinaigrette. As well, the Poulet Rouge Chicken was previously served with sweet potatoes, seasonal vegetables, and whole-grain mustard sauce. It is now served with roasted potatoes, stewed pepper pipérade, and sweet corn velouté. Nosh or Not This Disney World restaurant is a must-visit if… You want an immersive dining experience. Be Our Guest really transports you into the world of Beauty and the Beast. There are so many details, and we usually find ourselves sitting with our mouths wide open admiring the restaurant. You love the Beauty and the Beast movie. If you are a huge fan of Beauty and the Beast, we really think you should make Be Our Guest a must-stop. You are looking for French-inspired food in a highly themed restaurant. While this isn’t the best food you are going to find at Disney World, we left full, satisfied, and happy. If you love French-inspired food, this would be a great option for your next trip. You should skip this Disney World spot if… You are looking for a quick meal. Dining at Be Our Guest will take a bit of time, and we also think you should leave some time to explore the restaurant. Definitely plan the time to enjoy your meal here! You are looking for a budget-friendly meal. This is not a good option if you are looking for an inexpensive meal. It is a prix fixe menu too, so you won’t be able to choose a less expensive option in hopes of making the meal less expensive. You are looking for a lighter meal. Your meal consists of an appetizer, entree, and dessert. Plus, you will find lots of cheese, butter, and carbs during your meal. You might consider planning some lighter activities after and not filling up on food before your meal here. Overall Overall, we were a bit disappointed in the menu changes. While nothing we had was bad, we don’t think most of the changes made the menu better. The one exception is the Blue Crab Bisque which we thought was delicious. We much preferred the hollandaise sauce on the Steak Frites, and the new desserts didn’t knock our socks off. While the French Onion Soup technically changed its description, it is the same soup as before, which we are happy about! We still really enjoyed our meal, but we are a bit confused by some of the menu changes. Full Spread In the meantime, we’ll be on the lookout for more restaurant updates from Disney World and beyond. A familiar train whistle. The smell of popcorn (or a churro!). Happy smiles. A friendly wave. The most majestic castle you’ve ever seen. A soft melody in the background. Maybe a bunch of balloons. Or bubbles! Just start picturing any one of these things in your mind, and you’ve more than likely transported yourself to the Disneyland Resort. A place where you can create, and relive, fond memories time and time again. It might just be the perfect happy place. So if that thought is now stuck in your head, and you’re wishing and dreaming to be walking down Main Street, U.S.A., once again, you’re not alone. Or even better, maybe you’re walking through Adventureland right now in search of a soft serve treat. Wherever you are, here or there or somewhere in between, as Walt Disney said during the dedication of the park 70 years ago, Disneyland is meant to be a “source of joy and inspiration to all the world.” There’s a reason to come back time and time again, because no two visits are ever the same — but every single one has lasting, magical memories. As we continue the Disneyland Resort 70th Celebration today, the official anniversary of Disneyland, who better to discuss the impact, importance, and all-around happiness surrounding this beloved theme park than CEO and Chairman of The Walt Disney Company, Bob Iger, and Disney Experiences Chairman, Josh D’Amaro. DPB.com: What makes the 70th anniversary of Disneyland such a significant milestone? Josh D’Amaro: This anniversary is more than a milestone – it’s a chance to reflect on Walt’s original dream and how far it’s come. What started as one park has grown into destinations around the world, all built on his belief that Disney could create incredible worlds like no one else. Over the years, as our company has welcomed new storytellers from Pixar, Marvel, Lucasfilm and 20th Century, we’ve been able to bring even more beloved characters and adventures to life for new generations. Today, we have more projects under development across Disney Experiences than ever before – all continuing Walt’s legacy of innovation, wonder and connection. We’re still doing what he set out to do… inviting guests into the stories they love, in ways only Disney can. DPB.com: There’s a clear reason Disneyland is referred to as The Happiest Place on Earth. The energy here is always infectious. You’ve obviously stepped foot in the park hundreds, if not thousands, of times. What do you think keeps the happiness running, year after year? Bob Iger: Disneyland exists today because Walt possessed abundant courage, ambition, and vision. He didn’t just look around corners or peer into the future, he actually went there. When he determined what he wanted to do, he did it – against all odds, defying skeptics and naysayers. Walt invented the modern theme park. In just one year, Walt and his team turned what had been a patch of orange groves into a completely new way to be entertained with family, friends, and loved ones, creating indelible memories and some of the most cherished moments in people’s lives. “A source of joy and inspiration to all the world,” as he said on opening day. It’s no wonder Disneyland is called The Happiest Place on Earth. DPB.com: Can you talk about the impact Disneyland has had on our guests over the years? Josh D’Amaro: Part of Disneyland’s legacy is making wishes come true for everyone, especially those who need our magic most. Through our work with Make-A-Wish, Disney grants one wish every hour of the day. This week, we are very proud to have granted our 170,000th wish to a child who dreams of one day being an Imagineer. This is some of the most important work we do at Disney, and we’re all so glad to be a part of it. DPB.com: Do you have a favorite Disneyland memory that stands out above the rest? Josh D’Amaro: I was 10 years old when my parents took me on my first trip to Disneyland. I can still remember seeing the castle for the first time, meeting the characters and eating some great food. Of all the amazing moments from that trip, the one that stands out the most is going on Peter Pan’s Flight – my father was so excited to ride it with me. “It really feels like you’re flying!” he said. And of course, he was right. I still flash back to that first ride every time I’m on one of those pirate ships sailing out over London. Years later, I had a similar experience when I took my own kids on Soarin’ for the first time – like so many families, we pass our love for Disney from one generation to the next. DPB.com: I’d like to talk about Cast Members for a second, because they help make the magic every single day. Do you have any messages for them during this happy celebration? Josh D’Amaro: Every time I walk the park, I see the way our Cast bring stories to life, create moments of joy and make guests feel truly seen. That spirit of service started right here at Disneyland and has spread to every one of our destinations around the world. I’m deeply grateful to the generations of Cast who’ve made the last 70 years so special – and I know their passion and dedication will carry us forward for the next 70 and beyond. DPB.com: It’s been 70 years, but it feels like Disneyland is still just getting started. The whole, “Disneyland will never be completed…” What are you most excited about for the future of the resort? What do you think the next 70 years hold? Bob Iger: Everything you see and experience at Disneyland and at our parks around the world is a continuation of Walt’s dream. And I am certain he would be amazed at the scale, the reinvention, and the extent to which his dream became such a thrilling reality. With more expansion projects underway at our parks than at any other time in our history, there is so much to look forward to. I’ve often said that one of the greatest attributes of Disney is the mere fact that people expect so much from us. We welcome that challenge, because it motivates us and energizes us to always be bold in everything that we do, and to exceed our guests’ highest expectations. After a long, long, LONG time, the day is almost here! ©Disney Disney World has finally gotten its all-new nighttime parade, Disney Starlight! This nighttime spectacular has been anticipated for a long time, and now it is debuting in Magic Kingdom on July 20th. The question is, where’s the best spot? If you’re planning a Disney World trip and want to watch the new parade, we’re confident we’ve found the BEST spot for this new nighttime spectacular. The Disney Starlight follows the same parade route as all the other Magic Kingdom parades, but in reverse! It will start on Main Street, U.S.A., and end in Frontierland. ©Disney While the parade will have two nightly showings at 9 PM and 11 PM, and will be held every night in the Magic Kingdom unless there is an after-hours party or disruptive weather, you want to ensure you can get the best views. ©Disney Where should you watch Starlight? The producer and director of the parade say it’ll be larger than life, so even if you aren’t in the front, you’ll still be able to see the floats. In terms of spots, we have some thoughts! Goofy, Mickey, and Minnie are READY to light up the night in Disney Starlight! Watching a parade on Main Street, U.S.A., feels so classic and will make for the best pictures with the castle in the background. One of our go-to spots is standing in the middle area of Main Street, the hub, and looking down towards the train station. Hub grass area You can also stand and face the castle! The floats will pass right by the castle, creating that perfect magical moment. We’re leaning towards any spots along Main Street, but don’t forget that you can catch the parade in Frontierland as well, and while the backdrop might not be as themed to the parade like the castle, you’ll still be able to see all the floats and performers. Disney World This parade will always be popular, but it will be extra popular with it being brand-new! You’ll need to arrive at least an hour early, if not more, to ensure you get the desired view. Don’t forget there will also be two viewings, as well as Happily Ever After, the fireworks show, at 10 PM. ©Disney For more news and updates on all things Disney, be sure to stay tuned to the Disney Food Blog! Legoland Florida is going for an out-of-this-world atmosphere for an indoor roller coaster that’s currently under construction at the Winter Haven theme park. The name of the ride has not yet been announced, but Legoland officials expect it to open in early 2026. This week, the park released a rendering of the exterior of the building and shared more details about the attraction. “This is one of our more unique attractions in that it doesn’t focus on a specific product,” said Blake Boyter, senior project manager for Merlin Magic Making, the creative arm of owner Merlin Entertainments Group. He said the project has the most collaboration with the Lego brand that the parks have ever experienced. “You’re going to be able to see the Friends [toy line], you’re going to be able to see Duplo, you’re going to be able to see the City brand, which the space [products] falls under,” Boyter said. “It’s kind of a melting pot, just like a real spaceport would be.” The theming will begin with Legoland Spaceport 885 launchpad, and that number is a reference to one of the original Lego Space Scooter sets. The area is “focused on the guest journey, all the way from the time you walk into, really, the land, and then you walk into the building,” Boyter said. “We’re bringing that core DNA of Lego – play, build, work together with the family – into the queue line, and then that is going to affect your experience on the coaster.” Merlin boasts that the new ride, announced in March, will be its most technologically advanced attraction. “This coaster has some tricks up its sleeve that we’ve never had in a Legoland park, at least in North America,” Boyter said. The ride vehicles will consist of two attached four-seater units forming eight-passenger trains. There will be no inversions on the route, but it will be “high speed,” Boyter said. “I think it is going to skew to the older side of our demographic,” he said. “But for our more adventurous younger folks, they’re going to be able to have the ability to go on as long as they’re OK in a dark, enclosed space.” Merlin is building the same ride at Legoland California theme park in Carlsbad, California. The company says it’s spending $90 million on the projects. The construction site is the former home of the Flying School coaster, originally called Swamp Thing during the Cypress Gardens era of the property. Also nearby will be a Duplo Tot Spot “for tiny astronauts” in the 1-to-4-year-old age range and Orbit Outpost, a themed retail shop. “The boundless creativity of Lego will meet the wonders of space – setting a new standard for fun and imagination, and once again providing guests with a new reason to visit these destination resorts,” Fiona Eastwood, Merlin’s CEO, said in a news release. The coaster’s building is already completely enclosed in Winter Haven. “The big focus on site is the ride system, getting it installed, getting the tracks all in, getting all the mechanics, the brakes, the motors, the launch assemblies, all the safety sensors, and then all the wiring that makes all that work,” Boyter said. “We want to get that ride up and running to start the testing and commissioning phases, and then we’ll keep focusing on finishing the queue,” he said. Joe Burbank, Orlando SentinelGuests ride Legoland's Lego Technic Test Track coaster during a preview in 2011. The ride is now called Great Lego Race. (Joe Burbank/Orlando Sentinel)Legoland Florida, aimed at the 2-to-12-year-old demographic, currently operates three coasters: Coastersaurus and Dragon, which both debuted in 2004, and Great Lego Race, which opened in 2011. Neighboring Peppa Pig Theme Park introduced Daddy Pig’s Roller Coaster in 2022. The upcoming Legoland ride is the only announced coaster in Central Florida still under construction, after four coasters opened with Epic Universe theme park in May. Universal Studios will shutter Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit in mid-August. Construction is happening near that coaster’s site, but its replacement has not been identified. The new Legoland attraction will join other space-themed coasters in the region, such as Magic Kingdom’s Space Mountain, which debuted in 1975, and sister attraction Tron Lightcycle/ Run, which came onboard in 2023. After running 3.1 miles so early in the day, you’ll be wanting the Happy Porridge with Mulan and Mushu. ©runDisney For the 10k, Olaf is popping out of a picnic basket with his Midday Munchies. The sun is shining, fruit and veggies are everywhere, and Olaf looks like a happy snowman. We’re questioning the ingredients in his picnic basket, but he’s so cute, we’re willing to look past it. ©runDisney Ready for dinner? The half marathon is represented by Lady and the Tramp with a spaghetti dinner for all 13.1 miles. The numbers are made of noodles and breadsticks. You might want to book a reservation for Tony’s Town Square after the race for the perfect medal picture. ©runDisney If you complete the two-course challenge, which includes running the 10k and the half marathon, you get an additional medal. If there’s one thing I’ve learned from flying frequently, it’s this: No matter how many times you’ve done it, air travel still finds new ways to surprise you. St. Louis Lambert International Airport I thought I was being responsible. My Sunday morning Southwest flight from St. Louis to Orange County (with a layover in Las Vegas) wasn’t until 9:30AM, so I arrived at the airport around 7:20AM, planning to park in the Terminal 2 garage like I always do. And that’s where this particular day took a turn. There was a traffic jam just to get to the terminal. That’s your first clue something’s wrong. And sure enough, when I got up to the garage entrance, not only was it full — there was a literal sea of people IN the road. Not walking. Not getting dropped off. Lined up. As I looked closer, I realized this was the check-in line for Southwest. It was out the doors of Terminal 2, wrapped along the entire departures curb, then continued down the road. People were walking in waves to find the end of the line. Luckily, I’m #CarryOnCrewForever, so I didn’t need to check a bag. But that didn’t stop my stomach from flipping — the chaos was giving me flashbacks to a different trip through STL just weeks earlier, when the airport computers were down and I ended up with a hand-written boarding pass. I still can’t believe I went through TSA with this. With the garage full, I circled around to Lot A and parked there. I boarded a shuttle to the terminal and immediately realized this day was anything but normal. The driver let us know he’d be dropping us off at arrivals rather than departures because of the chaos upstairs. As we drove, he casually mentioned that there was “some big convention” that had just ended and everyone was flying home today. That sent me to Google. Sure enough, I found that a Seventh-day Adventist convention in town had 60,000 to 80,000 attendees — and judging by the crowds at the airport, it looked like all of them had booked flights out on Sunday morning. Southwest plane By the time I got inside and headed to security, I was still holding out a shred of hope that it wouldn’t be that bad — maybe this was all baggage-related chaos. But nope. I set the timer on my phone: 47 minutes in line. It could have been worse — it did get longer after I joined — but I was already rattled. STL can be pretty easy. I’m used to security lines being 20 minutes or less. While I waited, I started hearing gate announcements paging missing passengers. At first, it was just a few names. But soon the announcements escalated to things like, “We’re still missing 18 passengers for this flight.” That’s when the tension in the security line went from anxious to desperate. People were panicking. Some were in the wrong security lines. Some didn’t have the right ID. Some had luggage they hadn’t checked. Others were holding up the line at the scanners after discovering they didn’t need to take off their shoes by stopping to put them BACK on. Orlando Sanford International Airport I actually started to feel guilty that I had plenty of time — and that I had packed light, that I had my documents in order, that I was ready to pull out my laptop and liquids. The stars had aligned for me. But a lot of people weren’t as lucky. Eventually, I made it to the gate — about 10 minutes before boarding. The flight ended up holding for a few minutes — Southwest had clearly been made aware of the situation at security — and everyone got onboard. Nobody appeared to miss their connection in Vegas either. It was a remarable end to what could have been much more of a disaster, honestly. But it got me thinking — if this ever happens to you, what can you do? Because this wasn’t just “holiday weekend busy” or “we’re short-staffed” slow. This was total system overload. And I’m so glad I didn’t cut it close. If you can avoid checking a bag, do it It’s not just about saving time on the backend. There’s a whole additional line you have to wait in to check that bag as you are departing. Have your documentation in order I cannot stress this enough: You need a REAL ID or passport to fly. So many people in line didn’t. If you’ve been putting it off for “someday,” today is that day. Don’t cut it close I’m officially too old and too anxious to be rolling up to the airport 45 minutes before boarding because it “usually” doesn’t take that long. Had I arrived 30 minutes later, I don’t think I would have made my flight. Chaos doesn’t announce itself ahead of time — pad your arrival like your trip depends on it. Because it might. Speak up — kindly If you are in danger of missing your flight, talk to someone. Anyone. A Southwest check-in agent. A TSA officer. They probably won’t be able to fast-track you — but they might. And being kind, calm, and respectful goes a long way in stressful environments like this. Know what to expect at security Rules change. Some people still think they need to take off their shoes — many don’t anymore. Be aware of what line you’re in (Pre-Check, Clear, Standard) and what it requires. Don’t be the person holding up the line because you forgot your giant bottle of lotion. By some miracle (and I’m sure, some intervention from Southwest once they were clued in to the disaster), my flight was held just long enough. Everyone made it onboard. We didn’t miss our connections in Vegas. But it could have gone the other way fast. Airports are unpredictable these days, but your preparation doesn’t have to be. Pack light. Arrive early. Have your docs. And if you do get caught in chaos, take a deep breath. It’s not just you. And you’re more likely to make it through if you keep your cool and remember: No one else planned for this either. 3 Skincare Rules I Break Every Time I Travel Overseas The post "I've NEVER Seen an Airport Like This" -- What To Do When Everything Falls Apart Before Security first appeared on the disney food blog. A brand-new land is coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and we can’t wait to experience it. ©Disney That land will be themed around Disney’s Monsters, Inc. movies and TV show, and will finally bring Monstropolis to life in a whole new way. That’s right — Monstropolis is coming to Disney World, and we have a feeling it’s going to seriously blow us all away. Here’s why. The story of the land will pick up after the events of the popular Pixar film, and humans have now been invited to visit the world of Monsters, Inc. Disney shares that here, “you’ll be able to stroll the streets alongside some of your favorite monsters” and even visit the Laugh Factory! We’re pretty confident Disney is trying to “wow” us with this one — and it’s all because of Epic Universe. Essentially, Disney now has to answer to the overwhelmingly positive response Epic Universe has received when it comes to the immersion factor. How do they do that? By creating even more immersion in their parks. ©Disney Monsters, Inc. land will feature Disney’s VERY FIRST suspended coaster, which “will put you right in the middle of the monster action. We had the chance to check out a first look at all the Imagineering models for the upcoming coaster at the D23 event, where the ride announcement was made. In addition to a new roller coaster, Monstropolis will also be home to a new theater show. While we don’t have many details about it, updated concept art shows the Muppet*Vision 3D Theater will be reimagined into “The Glob” theater — a play on the famous Globe Theatre. ©Disney Near where Mama Melrose was, it appears to be being converted into Harryhausen’s, the Japanese sushi restaurant featured in the movie. While Disney hasn’t officially confirmed that this restaurant will be coming to the new Monsters, Inc. Land, the fact that it is in the concept art leads us to believe it is pretty likely we will see a Harryhausen’s in this new area. Could this mean we are getting a sushi restaurant in Disney’s Hollywood Studios? Only time will tell! ©Disney Behind that is the new area where the roller coaster will be. This is currently a backstage area, so Disney is opening up the walls and expanding the whole area. In June 2025, a map release confirmed that the new land would be expanded to fit the roller coaster. The attraction’s show building will be placed in what has been the Cast Member parking lot located behind the land — so we already know it’s going to be a decently large expansion. ©Disney An opening timeline for Monsters, Inc. Land has not yet been announced. Construction on the new land has begun as construction walls have appeared in the area following a phased closure of the Grand Avenue area, which began in May and ended on June 8th, resulting in the permanent closure of Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano, Muppet*Vision 3D, and PizzeRizzo. ©Disney We can’t wait to learn more about this new land as Disney starts ramping up the transformation. Disneyland is home to some pretty solid dining options — so you can’t blame us for trying EVERYTHING. From sit-down restaurants to small bars, we’re trying it all. Come along for our latest review! Pixar Pier We recently stopped by Sonoma Terrace at Disney California Adventure to try some snacks and drinks! Is it worth a stop on your next trip to this popular California theme park? We have plenty of thoughts! Atmosphere Sonoma Terrace is an outdoor bar located right next to Wine Country Trattoria in Disney California Adventure’s Performance Corridor. Sonoma Terrace While seating is all outdoors, there are plenty of built-in and tree-provided shaded areas. Bar area There’s also a good variety of seating, with tables lined up under the roof, high-top tables next to the main pathway, two-person tables near the wall closer to Wine Country, and comfy couches with soft padding and coffee tables along the entrance. Seating Most of the seating options are shaded, or are at least shaded during certain parts of the day. Tables This Californian wine-country themed area is a great hidden spot to sit back and relax, offering more of a mature vibe with guitar music playing on speakers and a setting that combats the natural chaos of a theme park. Couches It’s one of the more adult areas accessible to everyone regardless of age, and an awesome spot to slow down during a busy park day. Menu This spot offers a simple lounge menu featuring small bites, ready-made cocktails, draft beer, bottled beer, hard cider, wine, and some non-alcoholic soda options. Menu This is not really a restaurant — you’re here more so to drink and relax, rather than to chow down on a meal. With that in mind, let’s get to the selections we tried! Eats Food offerings are incredibly limited here, and you’ll only find a Bavarian Pretzel for $8. You can also add on a Cheese Cup side for an additional $1.50, which we did. Bavarian Pretzel It’s hard to go wrong with a giant pretzel, and we’re happy to report this offering gets a thumbs up from us. It’s a reliably tasty snack and super shareable. We felt ours could use a bit more salt, but it’s a minor complaint. Pretzel The Cheese Cup was essentially plastic cheese, and it dominated the flavor profile — so only add this on if you like plastic cheese. Cheese The price is pretty fair (especially if you have any discounts), considering it is a shareable size of a very safe, yet delicious Disney snack. Drinks For drinks, we started with the Pineapple Passion for $17.50. This cocktail is made with white rum with flavors of pineapple and passionfruit. Pineapple Passion Poured into a cup from a bottle, this cocktail is a mixed bag. It was thicker in texture than we expected — not quite a syrup but sort of like a piña colada mix texture. It was pretty fruit-heavy with plenty of summer flavors that allowed the passionfruit to star. The pineapple blended in, and we could just barely taste it, however. We liked it, but didn’t love it at this price. We enjoyed this! Next, we tried the Craftwell Hibiscus Lemonade for $15. This drink offers flavors of hibiscus and lemons (ABV 10.5%). Craftwell Hibiscus Lemonade Poured into a cup from a can, this drink is overpowered by hibiscus, so if you’re not a fan of that flavor, definitely avoid this lemonade. There’s a bit of carbonation with this one that’s not unlike a seltzer, and we did find it refreshing. Refreshing, but nothing special Still, it’s nothing special, and $15 just seems like too much, especially when you’re in a theme park known for some pretty great drinks. Nosh or Not This DCA lounge is worth a visit if… YOU NEED A BREAK. It’s located in a very scenic area of the park and offers laid-back vibes. There are worse things to do than grab a breather and a cocktail here while you decompress and collect your second wind. YOU WANT A PRETZEL. Mickey Pretzels are great, but the Bavarian option here is really awesome and not that much more expensive than a regular pretzel. YOU LOVE WINE AND BEER. We didn’t try any for this review, but there are tons of options that are sure to please all kinds of beer and wine enjoyers! You should skip Sonoma Terrace if… YOU WANT A MEAL. This is not a restaurant. Wine Country next door is your best bet for full entrees and a wide array of appetizers. YOU WANT TO KEEP THE MOMENTUM GOING. If you’re in the zone during your park day, visiting Sonoma Terrace will likely take you out of it. For many guests, that’s actually ideal. However, if you want to keep the adrenaline going and not risk crashing after leaning back on a comfy couch, keep on walking. YOU CRAVE EXCITING COCKTAILS. Our drinks were essentially pre-made, and while that’ll do the trick for some, others crave real craftsmanship with their drinks. Carthay Circle Lounge near the park’s entrance is a more than suitable substitution. Overall Sonoma Terrace is solid with its offerings, and we recommend coming here for the wine, beer, vibes, and relaxed seating. There are better cocktails elsewhere, but if you don’t mind simple, this is still a great spot to visit. Disney World may be the “Most Magical Place on Earth,” but it’s also a massive complex that sees millions of visitors each year, which in turn means there are often emergencies that require intervention from 911 emergency services. Disney World Entrance Whether it’s medical emergencies, unruly guests, injuries, or even the miracle of life, there are countless reasons for 911 calls to be made from Disney World. 911 calls made from Disney property are connected to emergency services from the Orange County Sheriff’s Office and the Reedy Creek Fire Department. We spoke to several former Cast Members, who shared 911 stories from their time at the resort. First up, one former CM shared a story of a medical emergency outside of Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. According to them, the medical team seemingly arrived out of nowhere with a gurney and loaded the guest on, doing chest compressions as they ran him back to the backstage area. While this scenario is terrifying — and we hope the guest ended up with a positive outcome — it shows how quickly emergency services can spring into action at Disney World. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad On the other side of the spectrum from a medical emergency, there’s the issue of unruly guests. This issue crops up all around Disney World, in particular at EPCOT, where guests can sometimes overindulge while drinking around the world. According to information shared with us, they saw security officers “literally scoop up a raving, belligerent lady that clearly had way too much to drink and wheel her completely out of the park.” While situations like this can be remedied by Disney’s own security on occasion, often police involvement and 911 calls are involved in the more serious scenarios. Drink around the world responsibly. In another scenario, a Cast Member relayed to us a story of a “heavily” pregnant woman whose water broke right in the middle of the Frontierland Trading Post! In this story, the woman and her partner requested a wheelchair and left the park to leave the park to prepare for the birth of their child. However, there are instances when 911 needs to be called for pregnant women whose water has broken. Some guests bring a different kind of souvenir baby home. What some guests may not know is that if you find yourself in one of these situations, you don’t just have the option of calling 911. You can also TEXT 911! In Florida, texting 911 is available in all but three counties (Miami-Dade, Hendry, and Holmes), so you can text 911 in Disney World. Of course, texting or calling 911 should only be used in life-threatening emergencies. Orange County Sheriff Department Twitter These are just a few of the reasons 911 is called to Disney World property. Stay tuned to DFB for more on the infrastructure and inner workings of the resort. 5 Magic Kingdom Secrets Disney Doesn’t Want You to Know Join the DFB Newsletter to get all the breaking news right in your inbox! Lug bags have become really popular recently, and some NEW hotel-themed Lug bags have made their debut in Disney World! Tigger Lug Bags We got a sneak peek at this new collection back in April, and now the new designs are officially available in Disney World! We have spotted a few of the new designs, but some of them have proven to be VERY popular, and we haven’t seen them in stock yet. Let’s take a look at these hotel-themed Lug bags! We are starting off over at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. We spotted this new Lug bag in BouTiki. This is such a fun Lug bag with a tiki on the front. But just wait until you see what is on the back of the bag! Polynesian Village Lug Bag A DOLE WHIP! How perfect is that? We are loving the color of the bag, and we are definitely fans of the DOLE Whip on the back. This is a great tribute to the Polynesian! Polynesian Village Lug Bag Next up, we are making a trip over to Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground. We spotted this Lug duffle bag at the Settlement Trading Post. It is themed to The Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort. Disney’s Fort Wilderness Lug Duffle Bag The bag is a green color that is perfect for the nature vibes and features patches on the outside. The inside has an adorable fabric pattern with Mickey Mouse, Chip, and Dale. This duffle bag has SO many pockets. Everywhere we looked we spotted another one, which is perfect for organizing your belongings. Disney’s Fort Wilderness Lug Duffle Bag There are also two additional Lug bags that we got a sneak peek of back in April, but they have been super popular and are flying of the shelves. The first is this Disney’s Fort Wilderness Lug Bag featuring Chip and Dale. How cute! Fort Wilderness Bag There is also a Lug bag for Disney’s Contemporary Resort that is in the shape of a MONORAIL! What?!? We think this is the epitome of all Lug bags and we can see why this one hasn’t been staying in stock. When we spoke to a Cast Member at the Contemporary, they weren’t sure if or when they would be getting anymore. Fingers crossed more will be in stock soon! It’s the Monorail! We think this new hotel-themed collection of Lug bags is so much fun, and we can’t wait to see if they release more designs! Stay tuned to DFB for all your Disney World news! There are a lot of rules at Disney World. Some are official guidelines passed down by Disney themselves, while others are more “unofficial” expressions of theme park etiquette. Both types of “rules” extend to the kinds of images you see guests sharing on social media. Magic Kingdom Turns out that some of these Disney World trends often seen on social media are specifically against the rules, and could lead to big trouble for those who try and mimic them! Let’s begin with PhotoPass. PhotoPass Photographer Disney’s PhotoPass service provides “picture-perfect memories of your whole family at iconic park locations—plus capture photos and videos at select attractions.” When the photos are taken, guests can use their MagicBand, Disney PhotoPass card, theme park ticket, or annual pass to link the images to their MyDisney account. PhotoPass photographers in Disneyland From there, guests can view and purchase photo downloads, prints to share, or even other merchandise like mugs emblazoned with their image. In addition, guests can purchase Memory Maker before or during their trip, which gives them the opportunity to buy all of their PhotoPass photos for the duration of their trip. ©Disney So, what’s the rule-breaking issue? Well, you’ve likely noticed that some Disney World guests will share watermarked PhotoPass images that they haven’t purchased on social media. While we understand the desire to do so, it’s against the rules. In fact, these screenshots are from desktops because the MyDisneyExperience app blocks screenshots and screen recordings of unpurchased PhotoPass images. PhotoPass While this PhotoPass issue is somewhat rampant, it’s not the only rule technically being broken by many online. Some others include: Reselling: Technically, it’s against the rules to sell exclusive Disney merchandise items or tickets, including those to events like the sold-out Oogie Boogie Bash, on sites like eBay or other online storefronts. Jumping in Fountains: Going into Disney World’s fountains is not a good idea. It’s dangerous, ruins the photos other guests are trying to take, and it just leaves you soaking wet in a theme park without having experienced a water ride. Gaston’s Fountain There are some Disney World behaviors that, despite often being displayed online, are against the rules and could lead to some negative consequences. Stay tuned to DFB for more on Disney World’s rules. 4 Rules You’re Accidentally Breaking in EPCOT Join the DFB Newsletter to get all the breaking news right in your inbox! Click here to Subscribe! You might have heard of the fun concerts during the EPCOT festivals like the Eat the Beat Concert Series for the International Food & Wine Festival, but what if we told you there’s a secret concert between festivals? 98 Degrees at Eat to the Beat (2022) Currently, Disney World is hosting Cool Kid Summer, featuring a range of fun activities for kids throughout the parks.
