Okay, Disney adults, we know we’re all here because we love Disney and Disney World. At the same time, though, we do often have some complaints about visiting Disney World, and that’s okay — it’s allowed. Disney World Annual Pass Sometimes, people just don’t want to deal with all the crowds. Of course, everyone complains about prices when they go up (and they do). Others complain about rides getting changes. However, fans have one huge beef with Disney World that we need to talk about: it’s about Annual Passes for folks outside of Florida. So let’s have a chat about it. If you’re looking to buy an Annual Pass to Disney World, four options are available: Incredi-Pass, Sorcerer Pass, Pirate Pass, and Pixie Dust Pass. Disney also has a special payment plan available for Annual Passes…at least for those guests who live IN Florida. Those who live outside Florida don’t get to do a payment plan — they must pay in full when purchasing their passes. Annual Pass So, that’s unfair to many fans right there. Basically, if you don’t live in Florida, you’re being punished for not living in Florida. Sorry, we can’t ALL live in Florida, am I right? But here’s what makes this even more of a problem. The ONLY pass non-Florida residents can buy is the Incredi-Pass, which is the most expensive Annual Pass available. Annual Passholder pin So those who don’t live in Florida are not only forced to pay for the most expensive pass if they want an Annual Pass, but they also can’t pay it over time like folks who live in Florida can do for all four Annual Pass options. Those who don’t live in Florida are likely those who use the pass the least amount of time, but they still have to pay for the most expensive pass and have to pay for it all at once. Annual Passholder Lounge To quote Scarlet Witch in Doctor Strange In The Multiverse of Madness, “that doesn’t seem fair.” With all that being said, though, having an Annual Pass does come with some good perks beyond just getting us into the parks. The occasional freebies (like the magnets) are nice, and we like getting to try exclusive snacks. We also appreciate the discounts on food and merchandise, as well as hotel rooms, which help us stretch our dollars a little more. Annual Passholder Exclusive Totally Sweet Sundae Disney World Annual Passholders also get access to exclusive merchandise, discounts on special events, access to exclusive lounges, and more. We also get access to early ride previews on new rides. So, the purchase is worth it for most Disney adults — it’s just something you have to prepare for! If you’re flying through Orlando International Airport (MCO) in 2025, you’re in for some very welcome airport security changes. MCO Airport Security It’s been a big year for air travel. The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has implemented some new protocols to make traveling a bit easier, and has even removed one longtime rule that has undoubtedly been a bother. If you plan to travel to and from Orlando International Airport throughout the remainder of the year, here is a reminder of the changes. Dedicated Family Lanes This year, TSA has rolled out a new initiative called “Families on the Fly”, which allows families traveling with small children to use dedicated family-friendly lanes when going through security at MCO and at other participating airports. Security at MCO The lanes — which are eligible for families with children aged 12 and under — aim to minimize stress for travelers. Pre-registration is not required. Families with small children can get a $15 discount for TSA pre-check enrollment, while TSA is offering Gold Star families free TSA pre-check. Honor Lanes Additionally, U.S. military members and their families now enjoy their own “Honor Lane”, a fast-track PreCheck experience that’s free for eligible travelers. MCO Airport Mobile enrollment stations are available in the terminals, so if you forgot to set it up in advance, you can still get it done on-site. These lanes are quick and offer less invasive screening with way shorter lines. No More Shoe Removal Perhaps the biggest change this year was that the removal of shoes during TSA screenings is no longer required. This lifts a two-decade-old requirement, thanks to new scanning technology. Stitch! Exceptions may still apply at TSA officer discretion, but for the most part, you can keep your kicks on when passing through MCO’s security checkpoints. REAL ID Enforcement Starting around May 2025, the REAL ID rule has been strictly enforced at MCO. A passport or tribal identification still works just fine, but double-check your ID before heading to MCO — traveling with the wrong identification is a quick way to ruin a trip. ©DHS.gov You can apply for a REAL ID through your local DMV’s website and its physical office. Banned Items When traveling through MCO, prepare to pack differently moving forward. Baggage Cordless curling irons or flatirons with butane or gas cartridges — as well as spare cartridges — are now banned from checked baggage. Additionally, all portable electronics with lithium-ion batteries must be placed in carry-on bags. Orlando Airport How are you feeling about these MCO TSA changes? Disney Cruise Line has delayed the launch of one of two ships it had planned to debut later this year, citing “unexpected delays” in the shipbuilding process. The Disney Adventure, which was expected to sail out of Singapore for the first time in December, will now celebrate its maiden voyage on March 10, 2026. All voyages scheduled from Dec. 15-March 12, 2026, will be canceled and effected guests will have options to rebook at a future date. Disney Destiny, though, is still set to sail on time with its debut from Port Everglades in November. “As we work on the final touches to bring the Disney Adventure to our guests, we’ve encountered unexpected delays in the shipbuilding process,” said Joe Schott, president of Disney Signature Experiences, in an emailed statement. “To ensure the experience we deliver reflects our commitment to excellence, we’ve made the decision to adjust our timeline. We know this may be disappointing to our guests, and we’re working directly with them to offer flexible rebooking options and uphold the trust they place in us.” This Disney Adventure started as the partially-built Global Dream, a ship originally ordered by Genting Hong Kong, a now-bankrupt Chinese holding company that owned several cruise lines. Star Cruises was the original line that planed to sail this ship until Disney Cruise Line purchased the partially-built ship in 2022. The vessel, the first in Disney’s Global class, will be the cruise line’s eighth and largest ship at 208,000 gross tons with room for more than 6,000 passengers and 2,000 crew members. The Disney Adventure will sail three- and four-night itineraries in the South China Ssea. Guests who were booked on the original maiden voyage can sail on the new maiden voyage at a 50% discount. Those guests will automatically be rebooked or can opt to cash in the 50% discount on a future cruise. Maiden voyage guests can also request a refund if unable to sail the new dates. Passengers booked on other affected sailings will automatically receive a full refund and will be offered 50% off a future Disney Cruise Line sailing, which must be booked by March 31, 2026, for a sailing on or before March 31, 2027. The same rules apply for maiden voyage guests wishing to use their future cruise discount. Find me @PConnPie on Instagram or send me an email: pconnolly@orlandosentinel.com. We have some big Universal news to share with you! ©Universal Universal may have just picked out the name of its new park planned for the United Kingdom. Let’s take a look at the details! According to the BBC, Universal has registered a trademark that could be the name of its planned UK theme park. Universal recently filed an application with the Intellectual Property Office for “Universal United Kingdom Resort” on September 8th, 2025. Universal Orlando When approached by the BBC, Universal declined to comment on the subject. This becoming the new name would make sense, as it aligns with Universal naming its other parks after the location it’s in — like Universal Orlando Resort or Universal Beijing Resort. Universal Studios Florida In the trademark application, Universal said the name was tied to amusement park services and hotels. The trademark can also be used on various merchandise items, including books, bags, clothing, toys, and more. Universal Orlando Universal announced some exciting updates about its upcoming park in the United Kingdom earlier this year! It would be in Kempston Hardwick, near Bedford. Universal hasn’t gotten official approval from the government to proceed with its proposed theme park yet. Universal Studios The firm is expected to create 8,050 jobs when the park opens, which has an intended date of 2031. That figure could rise up to 12,465 jobs by 2051 — which would factor in roles in accommodation such as hotels. The construction of the park would also provide a job boost, with a peak of 5,380 workers expected on site. ©Universal The park is said to be a “world-class theme park with several themed lands, visitor accommodation, as well as a range of retail, dining, and entertainment uses.” This might sound like every theme park we’ve seen, but it will also be one of the largest employers in the region, and they continuously call it “the entertainment resort complex.” Arriving at Universal We’re excited for the development of this new park, and can’t wait for more details to drop! Disney World is in the process of some BIG changes, and this one has Disney fans happy. Disney World At Magic Kingdom, we are seeing huge transformations. Construction is underway for the new Cars-themed area, Piston Peak, and the new Villains land. Several rides are currently under refurbishment, including Big Thunder Mountain and Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin. At Destination D23, we also got news that one of the most iconic pieces of this park will be seeing some updates in the future, and it has Disney fans talking about it! Disney fans are buzzing with excitement over the news that Cinderella Castle at Magic Kingdom will be repainted to return to its original color scheme. After several years of showcasing the rose-gold and blue accents introduced for Walt Disney World’s 50th Anniversary, readers overwhelmingly shared their enthusiasm for the castle going back to the look that many remember from their childhood. In fact, when we asked our readers how they felt, 99% of those who responded said they’re thrilled about the upcoming change. For many, the announcement represents more than a fresh coat of paint, but also a return to tradition. ©Disney Several readers echoed the same sentiment: “It’s going back to the way Walt intended.” While the rose-gold shimmer created a celebratory, modern flair, fans believe the original design best captures the spirit of Walt Disney’s vision and the timelessness of Magic Kingdom. One commenter summed it up perfectly: “Sad to see the rose gold go, but it will be the way Walt intended it and will bring back those childhood memories.” Clearly, nostalgia is playing a big role in the excitement. Painting Cinderella Castle (2020) Others were eager for Disney to move quickly on the project, joking, “Can they make the change next week? Bring it back to the glory days!” While there’s no official word yet on when the repainting will begin or how long it will take, it’s safe to say that anticipation is high. The castle is, after all, the centerpiece of Magic Kingdom and one of the most photographed icons in the world, so its appearance always sparks strong opinions. On September 10th, there were reports that one of the parade floats at Disneyland was spotted being surrounded by smoke, with reports saying there was a fire. Paint the Night Videos on TikTok have been surfacing of The Little Mermaid float having smoke around it and guests being evacuated from the areas. This was during the Paint the Night Parade, and in the videos, you can see large clouds of smoke around the float. Cast Members quickly emptied the area and and no reports have been seen about injuries or damages. While videos are saying fire, from what we can tell in the videos, we’ve only been seeing smoke, so we’re not sure exactly what happened on the float. This parade came back for Disneyland’s 70th anniversary celebration and has been running since May 2025 with no issues. We’re not sure if we’ll see The Little Mermaid float back immediately or how long it will be gone if it is removed. ©Disney We’ll be keeping an eye on this to see if any more information comes up. Phones have become an essential part of the Disney World experience, far beyond snapping photos and videos. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad Guests rely on them to check wait times, book Lightning Lane access, and even place mobile orders for food, making the park experience more convenient than ever. With so much of the day-to-day magic now happening through a screen, it’s no surprise that phone use on rides has become a hot topic among fans. Capturing memories mid-attraction is just one more way guests are integrating technology into their Disney adventures, but not everyone agrees it should be allowed. A recent poll of Disney fans has revealed a nearly even split in opinions about whether phones should be allowed on attractions, but the majority slightly favors keeping them. We asked Disney fans, “Should Disney World ban phones on rides, or do you like being able to capture memories mid-attraction?” and the poll was closer than we thought! Haunted Mansion 51% of respondents said they enjoy using their phones to take pictures and videos during rides, while 49% felt that Disney should ban phones to preserve the experience. The results highlight just how divided Disney fans are on this topic. Supporters of phone use argue that capturing photos and videos is an essential part of making memories. For many, being able to share these moments with friends and family, or even on social media, enhances the magic of a Disney vacation rather than detracting from it. Did you really ride Na’vi River if you didn’t take a photo of this? On the other hand, nearly half of those polled feel that phones can interfere with the immersive experience Disney works so hard to create. Critics worry about distractions, safety concerns, and guests spending more time looking at screens than enjoying the ride itself. Some fans have even shared stories of phones dropping mid-ride, causing delays or damage to the attraction. We have also noticed more guests using the flash during the ride, or not realizing it was on, and this ruins the experience for others. Rise of the Resistance Disney World has reminders asking guests not to use flash photography, like on the Haunted Mansion or Pirates of the Caribbean. Unfortunately, some guests still don’t follow the rules. But as this poll shows, the debate is far from settled. For now, it seems many guests still want the option to capture their favorite ride moments, even if it comes with a few risks. Living with the Land Could we see changes coming to Disney World in the future? In Disneyland, we recently saw this sign posted at Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway stating that all personal items, including cell phones, are not permitted to be held while riding. As of now, we have not seen this at Disney World yet, but it could be a signal of the rules changing on the East Coast. No Cell Phones For more Disney news, be sure to follow DFB. Zootopia has been getting a lot of love from Disney recently. Shanghai Disney Resort launched an entire land devoted to the movie in 2023. A brand new Zootopia attraction, Zootopia: Better Zoogether, is coming to Disney’s Animal Kingdom in Disney World. PLUS Zootopia 2 will land in theaters later this year. ©Disney So what’s next? A stage musical? Well, the answer to that is “yes!” According to an audition notice on Broadway World, Disney is looking for performers for a Zootopia stage musical! The audition notice was posted by Disney Theatrical Productions for a 90-minute Zootopia musical (we know it’s a musical because auditioners are required to bring “a brief contemporary musical theatre or pop musical theatre song”) for a professional LORT (League of Resident Theatres). The musical will be written by Sara Wordworth with music and lyrics by Jaheem Toombs, who has written music for Zombies 4, High School Musical: The Musical: The Series, and Descendants. Matte Martinez will offer additional musical contributions. Connor Gallagher will direct, while Ian Weinberger will act as music supervisor. ©Disney The audition is for the following roles: Judy Hopps: (18-30) A bunny. Optimistic, determined, passionate. Type A and infatigable. She believes in the good in the world. Youthful pop sound with strong belt. Nick Wilde: (20-30) A fox. Street smart, savvy, sarcastic. His nonchalant and dispassionate exterior masks a heart of gold. Baritenor who grooves. Dawn Bellweather: (25-40) A mild-mannered sheep and the assistant mayor of Zootopia. Soft-spoken, meek, and overlooked, but there is more to her than meets the eye. Mezzo soprano / belter. Chief Bogo: (30-50) An ox and the police chief of Zootopia. Tough and set in his ways. Uninterested in changing his practices or beliefs. ©Disney There’s no additional information on when and where the musical may premiere, but we’ll be keeping our eyes out for more news, so stay tuned to DFB for more. It’s Official. A ‘Bluey’ Ride Is Coming in 2026!
Disney4me posted a topic in Disney Food/Restaurants
Okay, we may or may not be freaking out right now. One of our favorite TV show characters is getting her time to shine, and we’re ready to hop on a plane to experience it ourselves. ©Alton Towers We’re massive fans of Bluey, and a United Kingdom theme park just announced that a new ride dedicated to the Heeler family is coming in spring 2026. Alton Towers Resort is opening the world’s first Bluey ride in CBeebies Land. CBeebies is the network that airs Bluey in the U.K., and the ride will open in spring 2026. ©Alton Towers Along with the new ride, “audiences get to experience all the Bluey fun at Alton Towers Resort, including the popular Heeler family meet-and-greets and live experience within Big Fun Showtime.” Guests can also have the “ultimate Bluey sleepover” at the CBeebies Land Hotel. ©Alton Towers At the CBeebies Land Hotel, there are Bluey-themed rooms that look like you jumped right into the cartoon. Am I considering immediately booking a trip to the U.K. to stay in a Bluey-themed hotel room? Yes, I abostleuly am. ©Alton Towers This is all in the U.K., but could this affect Disney Parks? Disney works with the BBC Studios, which owns Bluey, and we’ve seen Bluey and Bingo join Disney Cruise Line in New Zealand and Australia, but we haven’t seen their domestic appearance quite yet. Bluey! Back in 2024, Disney said that Bluey “will join Disneyland Resort in California and Walt Disney World Resort in Florida on land and Disney Cruise Line at sea.” So far, Bluey has only been spotted on the cruises, but we’re ready to see the family in the parks. Knowing that a roller coaster is being built might be a sign that BBC is ready to move forward with theme park plans for Bluey. Bluey and Bingo We’re going to be keeping an eye on this (and crossing our fingers) for new information for Bluey coming to Disney Parks, but in the meantime, make sure you keep following Disney Food Blog for more. We’re going to let you in on a little secret — we know when you should NOT go to Disney World this month. Lightning Lane at Peter Pan’s Flight September has been busy with Halloween in full swing, but this random day is just the start of the crowds. As October rolls into November and December and all the lights and Christmas trees are up around Disney World, more and more people will come to the parks, and we know when the chaos is starting. Lightning Lanes are a great way to skip the lines for your favorite attractions during those busy days. The prices of Lightning Lanes change depending on the demand, so on the days Disney is expecting more people, the prices go up, up, up. Lightning Lane We keep track of all the Lightning Lane prices so you can better plan for your trip, and so far, we’ve found two dates that have a massive increase in Magic Kingdom, and unfortunately, this likely means it’s just the beginning of price increases. Check out these prices in Magic Kingdom: September 30th $419 — Lightning Lane Premier Pass $27 — Lightning Lane Multi Pass $13 — Lightning Lane Single Pass for Seven Dwarfs Mine Train $21 — Lightning Lane Single Pass for TRON Lightcycle / Run October 1st $419 — Lightning Lane Premier Pass $32 — Lightning Lane Premier Pass $14 — Lightning Lane Single Pass for Seven Dwarfs Mine Train $22 — Lightning Lane Single Pass for TRON Lightcycle / Run Lightning Lane at Haunted Mansion Lightning Lane Premier Pass allows you to go onto any attraction with a Lightning Lane entry with no prior planning or reservations. If you’re someone who likes to make sure you get it all done, this is going to be the pass for you! Under the Sea — Journey of the Little Mermaid In September, the cheapest Premier Pass we saw was $329, so the jump to $419 is huge. This usually means Disney is expecting large crowds on this day from past year’s numbers, so if you can avoid Magic Kingdom on this day, it might be for the best. And, they share expert tips and first-hand advice with you about your magical vacation. We’re going to continue keeping our eyes on the numbers, but a huge jump for Premier Pass might be the sign that Disney World is about to get a whole lot busier and that the holiday crowds are here. Make sure you keep following Disney Food Blog for more. I’VE TRIED EVERY LIGHTNING LANE HACK IN DISNEY WORLD, AND I’M SHARING TWO THAT WORK EVERY TIME DON'T DO IT ALONE! Disney Cruise Line is notifying customers that the launch of a new cruise ship — the Disney Adventure — will be several months behind schedule. ©Disney The maiden voyage of Disney’s latest ship — originally scheduled for December 15th, 2025 — has been rescheduled for March 10th, 2026. An email to customers who had booked an affected cruise was sent late on the evening of September 10th. Citing “unexpected delays in the shipbuilding process,” Disney said it will automatically refund any payments made for the cruises that have been canceled. “To ensure every detail meets the high standards you expect from Disney, we’ve made the difficult decision to postpone the Disney Adventure’s maiden voyage to March 10, 2026,” Disney said in the e-mail. ©DisneyCruiseLine Announced in November 2022, the Disney Adventure will have its home port in Singapore, and will be the first Disney Cruise Line ship to sail from Singapore’s Marina Bay Cruise Centre and throughout Southeast Asia. The Disney Adventure will primarily offer 3- and 4-night voyages. Set Sail with Disney Pals! Uniquely, the Disney Adventure will not stop in ports of call during the voyages. Even so, Disney has called this ship the “biggest adventure yet,” featuring Disney, Pixar, and Marvel stories on board. Orlando’s theme parks are forever in flux, visually represented by panels and panels of construction walls. Currently, there are attractions getting refurbished, replaced and rested, but that all translates to parkgoers as “you can’t do that right now.” Although some plans are clearly stated by their operators, other replacement rides remain shrouded in mystery and surrounded by rumor. Here is our updated list of what’s down and what’s gone, divvied into categories reflecting what we actually know that we know plus a few official “last call” notifications. Going away – and there’s an (announced) plan • The final day for Star Wars Launch Bay at Disney’s Hollywood Studios is Sept. 24. The space is going back to its roots after a 10-year Jedi-based tour, it and will re-emerge sometime next year with a Walt Disney Studios theme and the name “The Magic of Disney Animation.” Also on the drawing board: A “Drawn to Wonderland” playground. • Then the final day for the Dinosaur attraction at Disney’s Animal Kingdom is Feb. 1. The ride will get an Indiana Jones-themed renovation and become part of the park’s Tropical Americas land, which will include “Encanto” attractions. (Already closed: The bulk of DinoLand, including the fossil-fueled Boneyard playground and the Cementasaurus.) • The MuppetVision 3D attraction permanently closed at Hollywood Studios in early June. That area, including PizzeRizzo and Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano, is being re-imaged as a land based on “Monsters, Inc.” that will include an indoor roller coaster. • But all’s not lost, Muppet fans. Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster, an indoor coaster featuring Aerosmith, will be retooled to feature Electric Mayhem and other Muppets. The giant guitar outside will get a new look and, once inside, riders will see that “the iconic scenery and landmarks of Tinseltown will feature a Muppet twist,” according to a post on the official Disney Parks Blog. The park hasn’t said when Aerosmith will take a final bow, but the Muppetization of the ride is expected to be complete next year. The partially drained Rivers of America surround the former Tom Sawyer Island at Magic Kingdom n August. (Dewayne Bevil/Orlando Sentinel) • Tom Sawyer Island, along with the Rivers of America and Liberty Belle attractions, were done at Magic Kingdom as of July 7. This area eventually will be the home of two “Cars”-inspired attractions set in the park’s Frontierland, and work also is underway nearby for the villains-based land. Gone forever, but there’s no announced plan • Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit, a roller coaster which closed Aug. 18, already is being dismantled at Universal Studios. There’s other unidentified groundwork being laid nearby. The dismantling of Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit has already begun at Universal Studios Florida theme park. The coaster debuted in 2009. (Joe Burbank/Orlando Sentinel) • Poseidon’s Fury, a mythical walk-through attraction at Islands of Adventure, closed in May 2023. At the time, Universal said a new attraction was planned and some work has been done (and Fury’s water feature still flows), no replacement has been announced. • Stanley Falls Flume, a watery attraction that opened with Busch Gardens Tampa Bay in 1973, was shut down permanently this month. The park has not revealed its plans for that space. The refurb realm • At Magic Kingdom, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad has been closed for refurbishment since January. The coaster is scheduled to reopen in 2026 with enhancements such as phosphorescent pools, iridescent stalactites and what appears to be a man versus mountain storyline. Magic Kingdom visitors travel past Buzz LighAtyear's Space Ranger Spin, a Tomorrowland attraction that is closed to add enhancements. (Dewayne Bevil/Orlando Sentinel) • On the other side of the park, Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin is closed and getting upgrades, including new ride vehicles, targets, detachable blasters and a new animatronic named Buddy. Disney says to expect new Buzzing in 2026. • Spaceship Earth, the iconic globe and ride near the entrance of Epcot, has been having “routine refurbishment,” Disney says, since late August. It is expected to reopen before the end of the year. • Kali River Rapids, a water ride at Animal Kingdom, will start refurbishment on Oct. 6, with a reopening target of December. • Must be something in the water: Dudley Do-Right’s Ripsaw Falls, a water ride at Islands of Adventure, also will be in refurbishment starting Oct. 6. That’s expected to end Oct. 31, Universal says . • Finally, for the plan-way-aheaders, Volcano Bay water park will enter a seasonal closure Oct. 26, 2026. Its planned reopening is set for “on or before March 24, 2027,” Universal’s website says. Email me at dbevil@orlandosentinel.com. BlueSky: @themeparksdb. Threads account: @dbevil. If you’re heading to the EPCOT International Food and Wine Festival this year, you need to know that there are some additions that are just going to make your trip easier. EPCOT Food & Wine Festival display We’ve tried all these products ourselves, but can also vouch for what a day in the parks looks like WITHOUT them during the festival, and WOOF. Food and Wine is the park’s hottest festival due to when it starts, so you’ve got to make sure you have the tools you need to avoid overheating, try all the food you’d like to without dropping anything, and overall ensure you have the best day possible. Keep Your Phone Charged FuelRod Keeping your phone charged on a festival day is easier said than done. You’re taking photos and videos, checking ride wait times, booking Lightning Lanes, or looking at Food and Wine menus all day, which will already soak up your battery, and the sun won’t help with that. We recommend grabbing the FuelRod Portable Charger Kit online before your trip so you get TWO FuelRods for the price of one, and then you can exchange them in the park as needed! Check it out! Avoid Silverware Debacles Reusable Utensils There are times when you’ll get your food at a booth, turn, and find there’s no silverware to use. Now, you’ve got three choices — you could walk somewhere else and hope to find more, wait around for that one to be refilled and watch your food get less and less fresh, OR you can purchase the Reusable Travel Utensils Set before your trip and just pull them out of your bag to use! It’s also easy to charge with two different ports, AND if you’ve got a cord for your phone, it can even serve as an emergency portable charger! Check it out! Stay Hydrated The Easy Way Stanley IceFlow On hot days, you want to make sure your water is being kept as cold as possible — there’s almost nothing worse than wanting to take a drink of water for some refreshment, only to find that it’s just as hot as the air outside. The Stanley IceFlow keeps our drinks cold with no issues, and our ice even stays frozen for hours! It’s a great size for the parks too — not too big and not too small, and we love that it comes in all different colors so you can decide what works best for you. Check it out! Now, it doesn’t have a water bottle pocket, which is important to note, but you can grab a carabiner and clip it on with no issues. Check it out! Something is missing at EPCOT! Spaceship Earth We’ve been going to EPCOT a lot for the Food and Wine Festival, and we noticed something was missing during our tour around World Showcase. We’re here to share all the details with you! One of our favorite places to go to in the World Showcase is the Morocco Pavilion. They have good food during the festivals, and the pavilion runs deep with a lounge for you to relax in. Morocco Pavilion We recently made our way to the lounge and noticed a big change that had happened there. The Restaurant Marrakesh sign is officially gone! The Restaurant Marrakesh sign is gone! Restaurant Marrakesh was one of Disney World’s most unique restaurants, making authentic Moroccan and Mediterranean food for guests visiting EPCOT’s gorgeous Morocco pavilion. The restaurant closed in March 2020, as the dining spot could no longer be maintained following the COVID-19 pandemic. End of an era Since March 2020, the restaurant has never reopened, and it looks like Disney World is beginning to phase it out. Interestingly, they still have the name painted on the side of the building. We’re thinking that it will be taken down fairly soon. Restaurant Marrakesh on the side of the building Who knows what’s in the plans for Disney and this building in the future? Right now, the inside of the restaurant is used for lounges, which change from time to time depending on the festivals. Sometimes the inside is used as an Annual Passholder lounge, and other times it is a lounge for all guests (like for Food and Wine). There are so many spots to eat at Disney Springs, it can get overwhelming knowing where to go. As a Disney Springs local, I never know which spot to try since there are so many great options. Mole Chicken Nacho Fries We recently headed to the Daily Poutine to check out a new item, and let’s just say these didn’t disappoint. Meet the Mole Chicken Nacho Fries, you can grab them for $10.49. These are fries topped with Mole Chicken, White Queso, Pickled Onions, Pico de Gallo, and Sour Cream. Look at all the toppings First up, let’s talk about the portion size. This bowl is PACKED with so many fries and tons of toppings. The fries were thick, and while they weren’t crispy, they held up well and had that golden brown color we love. So many toppings The toppings were where it was. There was so much, and it packed a kick without being overwhelmingly spicy. You could tell the pico de gallo was freshly made because all the pieces were cut up in different sizes, giving it a homemade feel. We loved the chunks of jalapeño in it and the spice it brought. The white queso also had some spice but was creamy and brought the whole dish together. Diving in Worried about too much spice? The sour cream on top helped cut down the heat. It tasted like there was lime mixed into the sour cream, which brought a fresh and light flavor to the otherwise heavy dish. The pickled onions were one of our favorite parts because they gave a great bite of acidity and brightness. Packed with flavor Overall, the Mole Chicken Nacho Fries were so good, and we love that the portion is shareable. We love Disney castles, probably a little too much. We can go on and on about the differences between each one, why the paint job is coming to Cinderella Castle in Disney World is a big deal, and why it’s even called “Cinderella Castle” and not “Cinderella’s Castle.” To say we love castle news is an understatement. Magic Kingdom Disney recently released a “We Call It Imagineering” video on their YouTube channel where they talked about different castle designs. What piqued our interest was mentioning the castle for the new Abu Dhabi Disney park and providing more details for the Disney Adventure coming to the Disney Cruise Line. In case you missed it, Disney is building a new theme park in Abu Dhabi, and besides the initial news, new information hasn’t been released. During this video, they mentioned continuing to work on the castle for the park. ©Disney The Abu Dhabi park will be a “castle park” or Magic Kingdom-style park. Because the city is on the water, they plan to incorporate water for the first time into a castle design. ©Disney Disney Imagineers have visited Abu Dhabi and experienced the culture, so they have incorporated elements into the park as well. ©Disney For the first time, a castle will be coming to Disney Cruise Line. On the Disney Adventure sailing out of Singapore at the end of this year, there will be a castle onboard inspired by nature. There will also be nods to different Disney Princesses like Moana, Rapunzel, and Anna and Elsa, which has never been done before. ©Disney During the video, they said, “it’s that connection people feel when they see a Disney castle,” and we can’t help but feel the same way. It’s an iconic landmark in photos from each generation and one of the first things people think of when you say Disney. ©Disney || Imagination Garden Make sure you continue to follow Disney Food Blog for more Disney updates.
