  1. Disney hasn’t been resting much lately, what with all the new lands coming to parks across the world, the release of Zootopia 2, all the hotel refurbishments going on, new technology being developed, and more. ©Disney Recently, Disney gave us a glimpse into what’s happening with the company and dropped some gigantic news bombs with opening dates, new animatronics, and more. So let’s take a closer look at those big announcements that Disney just dropped on us. World of Frozen Opening Date Disneyland Paris’ version of World of Frozen in Disney Adventure World now has an official opening date. Visitors to the park will be able to visit Arendelle as of March 29th, 2026. This land will be similar to the one we visited in Hong Kong Disneyland, and let’s just say…that one blew our minds. ©Disney The new land will feature Frozen Ever After, which is already in Hong Kong Disneyland, EPCOT, and Tokyo DisneySea. Here’s more about World of Frozen’s Opening Date Suprise! A New Olaf Animatronic is coming soon. That’s not the only new Frozen thing coming to Disney Parks, though. Disney showed off a brand new, VERY impressive Olaf animatronic that will be free roaming around the Frozen Parks. Seriously, he looks and moves so real that we feel like we’ve stepped right into the movies. ©Disney He walks, he talks (and, yes, Josh Gad confirmed that you’ll be hearing HIS voice as the lovable snowman), and he can interact with people. More about Disney’s Olaf Animatronic New Restaurants Disney also shared the first details about restaurants coming to Disneyland Paris’ World of Frozen. Nordics Crown Tavern will be a quick-service restaurant open for lunch and dinner and will feature a customizable dining experience inspired by Nordic cuisine. Its decor will have galleries of paintings and royal artifacts that tell the story of Arendelle. ©Disney The Regal View Restaurant & Lounge will be a Princess character restaurant open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. It will be “a refined atmosphere” inspired by Disney Princesses. ©Disney Disney is also bringing 14 new food and beverage locations along Adventure Way with a variety of food and drinks. Learn more about these new restaurants New Tangled Ride Disney Adventure World will be getting a new Tangled-themed ride: Raiponce Tangled Spin. Disney also dropped a first look at the ride and the ride vehicles. We’ve been obsessing over the concept art, but this is the real deal! ©Disney We can’t wait to see this ride with our own eyes. More about Raiponce Tangled Spin New Promenade Disney Adventure World will also have a new promenade with themed gardens like the Tangled Garden or the Toy Story Garden, and live entertainment like “Rapunzel and Flynn’s Musical Encounter” and “Miguel’s Lantern Festival.” ©Disney You also get to meet characters here, including Mickey and Minnie sporting new Victorian costumes. More about the new promenade Disney Cascade of Lights You’ll also get to watch Disney Cascade of Lights, a brand new nighttime show coming to Disney Adventure World. ©Disney The show will feature drones, pyrotechnics, choreographed fountains, and more. Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run We already knew some big changes were coming to Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run, including a new mission from The Mandalorian and Grogu film, but Disney just gave us a behind-the-scenes look at these changes. Not only will scenes from the ride look even better, but they will also be more interactive because they render graphics in real time, making the ride feel more realistic. ©Disney Disney has also improved the ride experience for every position on the ride, including the Engineer, who now gets to pick the destination. Read about these new details here Meta AI glasses in the parks Disney also gave us a better idea of how using Meta’s AI Ray-Ban glasses would work in the parks. Disney stated, “The use of Ray-Ban Meta glasses in our parks will help guests to remain fully present, augmenting the park, rather than distracting from it.” ©Meta Disney even outlined how the glasses could show real-time information in the parks, as well as integrate into the park experience itself. Learn more about what Disney said about using Meta AI glasses in the parks New Animatronics Tech Perhaps the most exciting announcement involved new animatronics technology that Disney is working on. Okay, so we’ve already got a walking and talking Olaf, but what’s next? Disney mentioned that new animatronics can show emotion by blushing and crying. However, it also mentioned that this new technology is “especially transformative for characters who had traditionally challenging features to create, like Mike Wazowski, Lightning McQueen, or Hades. Mike in Disney California Adventure (he doesn’t move) Considering a new Monsters, Inc. land, as well as a Cars expansion and Villains Land, or coming to Disney World, these could be animatronic characters you’ll see in those parks. Learn more about this new technology Whew, that was a LOT. These are all exciting announcements that give fans something to look forward to. 2. One of our favorite things about visiting EPCOT is all the FOOD. There are snacks galore, fantastic restaurants, and tasty multicultural treats. You can practically try something new every time you go to the park, and that’s exactly what we try to do. Snacking around World Showcase is lots of fun! As you wander around World Showcase, you can stop and try fun international snacks from each of the 11 countries. Many of the items don’t change at the permanent venues, or they’ll offer signature menu items with additional seasonal offerings. As we were visiting the Japan pavilion the other day, we realized it had been a while since we had tried the Kakigori at the Kabuki Café. This is a fun, traditional Japanese shaved ice treat with lots of options, and we want to let you in on the secrets of this sweet and refreshing treat! Kabuki Café at the Japan pavilion in World Showcase offers a variety of different items. You can grab sushi, sake slushies, Kakigori, and a variety of beverages at this stand. Kabuki Café menu We specifically stopped by to try out the Kakigori! Kakigori is Japanese shaved ice with authentic imported Japanese syrup. You can get a single flavor, two flavors, or a rainbow of flavors in either a regular or large size for various prices. Then, you can add toppings to your shaved ice for an additional charge based on the number of toppings and the size of your Kakigori. Kakigori menu options You can get the following flavors: Blue Hawaii Kyoho Grape Lemon Melon Strawberry Rainbow Syrup options The topping options include: Sweet Milk Coconut Créme Pineapple Créme Strawberry Créme Mandarin Orange Large bowl size We decided to get a large bowl with Blue Hawaii, lemon, and strawberry syrups topped with pineapple and coconut crèmes, and mandarin oranges. We weren’t really sure how it was going to taste with all those flavors, but we knew it was going to be pretty! This combination cost us $16.25. Large Kakigori We were VERY happy to find out that this was, in fact, both beautiful and delicious! We got a layered mix of tropical and classic flavors that somehow all worked together. The lemon and strawberry didn’t stand out on their own, but the mandarin orange slices added real fruit flavor and texture that balanced everything out. The oranges gave the snack authenticity, where it used to rely almost entirely on sugar syrups and artificial flavoring. Look at how pretty it is! It’s basically the biggest snow cone in the world, and how could we not love that? We had second thoughts about all the flavors we picked (the Cast Members helped me choose them based on how they’d look in photos), but this turned out so much better than we expected. You definitely get piña colada vibes from the coconut and pineapple crèmes, but there’s enough variety from the other syrups to keep it from tasting like a one-note resort bar drink. This is tasty and cooling Is it shareable? Sure. Did our reporter eat the whole thing by themselves very quickly? Absolutely. It started melting toward the end of the photos, and they ended up drinking the rest, and it was fantastic. This is such a fun and refreshing way to experience this iconic EPCOT treat, and now with so many flavors in one bowl, it finally feels as over-the-top as it deserves to be. The Cast Members who helped us make this beautiful and tasty treat If you’re roaming around World Showcase on a hot day, we definitely recommend stopping by Kabuki Café for some Kakigori! It’s a fun and flavorful treat that will help you cool off. In the meantime, keep following DFB for more Disney food reviews! 5. We’ll admit it…we’re a little obsessed with Loungefly bags. But can you blame us? First, Loungefly releases new Disney bags ALL the time, and it’s really hard not to just buy them all. It’s really one of our favorite collaborations that Disney has ever done with a company. Gideon’s Bakehouse There’s a Loungefly for everything…from our favorite movies to our favorite characters to our favorite TV shows. However, one of our favorite snack spots in Disney World is getting its own Loungefly. No, really. And if you love Gideon’s Bakehouse as much as we do, you’ll want to be ready to grab it when it goes on sale SOON. That’s right, a Gideon’s Bakehouse Loungefly is coming on Friday, November 28th, and it’s themed around the infamous Gideon’s Bakehouse gargoyle. It features the Gargoyle hugging the Gideon’s “G” logo. Oh, and did we mention that its wings can move up or down so you can position them however you want? ©Gideon’s Bakehouse If you want to get your hands on one of these babies, here’s what you need to know: It will go on sale at both Gideon’s Bakehouse locations, including the one in Disney Springs, on Friday at 10 AM EST. You can also get it online at Gideon’s Bakehouse’s official website. Gideon’s Bakehouse Now, if you’re planning on grabbing this in Disney Springs, we recommend you get to Disney Springs early because we can imagine there’s going to be a line to get into Gideon’s before it even opens. It’s also likely that if the line gets to be too long, Gideon’s will use its virtual queue system where you have to give your phone number to a Cast Member. You’ll then get a text message when it’s your turn (remember, the shop itself is tiny!). Gideon’s virtual queue Stay tuned to DFB for more. BIG COOKIE NEWS! 6. Big things are happening at the domestic Disney Parks! ©Disney Some major expansion projects are underway at BOTH Disney World and Disneyland — some with some very tangible progress. While things are moving along for all the projects announced by Disney at both theme park resorts, a few projects got some serious updates via recently filed permits! First up was a new permit filed back in August for the Tropical Americas-themed Pueblo Esperanza in Disney’s Animal Kingdom! DINOSAUR The permit was filed to “install set elements” at DINOSAUR, and Mecca Productions, Inc. — which specializes in set designs and fabrication for theme parks and other venues — was listed as the contractor. While this permit could possibly have something to do with the new Indiana Jones ride replacing DINOUSAR, we think the permit likely pertains to minor updates that will maintain ride stability and presentation until it closes permanently on February 2nd, 2026 — along with the rest of DinoLand U.S.A. DINOSAUR The next permit could be a bit more significant. In October at Disneyland, Disney officially filed a permit to advance its big transportation hub plans. ©Disney The permit was for the east side of the resort, where a new parking and transportation hub will be located. The new hub will provide around 6,000 parking spaces, as well as shuttle drop-off and pickup areas, dedicated spots for rideshare services, more security screening, and other features focused on accessibility. The permit’s language includes “East Esplanade” work, which will feature a 15-foot-long by 8-foot-high chain link fence. Construction will also feature the addition of a 128-foot-long and 8-foot-high wooden fence. Disneyland Resort parking garage Finally, back at Disney World, we got a major update on the new Monsters, Inc. Land coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios! ©bioreconstruct on X Two permits were filed in October — one for Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano and another for Pizzerizzo. Both permits were for “general construction,” and work will be done by PCL Construction Services, Inc. Both restaurants are currently closed, but these now-defunct buildings will likely be transformed into useful spaces for the new land. Right now, for example, it appears Mama Melrose’s will be transformed into Harryhausen’s. ©Disney As for the land itself, Disney has teased that it might be called Monstropolis (which makes all the sense in the world) and will feature a narrative picking up after the events of the first film. The land’s big attraction will be Disney’s very first suspended roller coaster! The new land will also feature a theater show. ©Disney We’re always monitoring new permits filed by Disney, as well as checking out construction updates in person, so keep it posted right here at DFB for all the latest Disney Parks expansion news! 9. According to WFTV, SeaWorld Orlando is currently under investigation by the Department of Justice. SeaWorld The Justice Department and the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Florida are investigating United Parks & Resorts, Inc., SeaWorld’s owner, to determine if the company violated the Americans with Disabilities Act after SeaWorld guests alleged that the park was discriminating against guests with disabilities. SeaWorld has banned the use of rollators, which some guests have reported they need to access the parks. Complainants also claimed that SeaWorld’s alternative mobility aids, which require extra charges, are not appropriate for their individual disabilities. SeaWorld Orlando “The ADA protects every American from disability-based discrimination in places of public accommodation, including theme parks,” said Assistant Attorney General Harmeet K. Dhillon for the Justice Department’s Civil Rights Division. ©SeaWorld “No one should ever be denied equal access to public accommodations based on disability,” said U.S. Attorney Gregory W. Kehoe for the Middle District of Florida. We’ll keep an eye out for updates, so stay tuned to DFB for more. View the full article

  11. Central Florida executives and attractions are well-represented in the 2025 list of the top 50 theme park influencers, which is compiled annually by Blooloop, a website that covers the global attractions industry. Folks tied to the opening of Epic Universe theme park at Universal Orlando are a force within the rankings, but Walt Disney World cast members appear, too, as well as the leaders of smaller, Orlando-based companies who do work with attractions in Central Florida and beyond. Reader nominations formed a list of 100 people “whose creativity, passion and drive” had the most impact in the past 12 months, according to the Blooloop website. A judging panel then picked 50 winners and designates a “Power 10” subset. Central Floridians leading the Blooloop 50 Theme Park Influencer List for 2025 as part of the Power 10 include Mark Woodbury, chairman and CEO of Universal Destinations & Experiences; Chris Oliver, senior vice president of engineering and safety at Universal Creative; David Mauck, president of Falcon’s Attractions; and Josh Martin, president of Orlando-based Martin Aquatic. Others on the Power 10 list include Fiona Eastwood, CEO of Merlin Entertainments; Michel den Dulk, VP and portfolio executive creative director at Walt Disney Imagineering; Anne-Mart Agerbeek-Cox, CEO of Vekoma Rides; Herve Bruneau, founder of Live Show Factory; Antonio Zamperla Jr., CEO of Zamperla, a ride manufacturer; and Mascha Taminiau, director of Walibi Holland, a theme park in Biddinghuizen, Netherlands. Additional Universal Orlando-related people landing on the new Top 50 influencer list are Xiomara Wiley, executive vice president/chief inclusion officer for Universal Destinations & Experiences; Justin Schwartz, senior director, engineering and safety with Universal Creative; Andrew Padua; creative director at Universal Creative; Charlie Gundacker, senior vice president and executive project director for Universal Orlando; Frances Franceschi, assistant director of creative design for Universal Creative; Russ Dagon, senior vice president, resort development for Universal Creative; and Donna Mirus Bates, senior vice president, strategic partnerships and communication for Universal Destinations & Experiences. Other Orlando-connected honorees are Wyatt Winter, executive producer of Walt Disney World portfolio for Imagineering; Angie Song; executive landscape architect with Walt Disney Imagineering; Peter Weishar, director of themed experience graduate program at the University of Central Florida; Emily R. Popovich, director of global business development for Maitland-based KMI International; Laurent Perchais, CEO of Dronisos, a drone-show specialist; Erica McCay, senior creative director at Orlando-based TAIT; and Michael Acevedo, manager of business development for Nassal, a scenic fabricator in Orlando. Blooloop also compiles Top 50 lists of influencers in the museum, aquarium and immersive industries. 12. The U.S. Department of Justice announced Tuesday it was opening an investigation into SeaWorld Orlando’s parent company after complaints that its parks’ ban on “rollator walkers” discriminates against guests with disabilities. The investigation will look into whether SeaWorld Orlando, Aquatica Orlando and Busch Gardens Tampa Bay — all owned or licensed by United Parks & Resorts Inc — violate the Americans with Disabilities Act. The parks do not allow rollator walkers, which have wheels and a seat. The act prohibits discrimination based on disability by public accommodations, including theme parks. Those who complained said they couldn’t access the parks without their rollators and the only alternative the parks offered would require them to rent other mobility aids that were inappropriate for their disabilities, the justice department said in a letter sent to the company’s chief executive officer. Gregory Kehoe, the U.S. Attorney for the Middle District of Florida, which includes Orlando and Tampa, said his office is committed to ensuring that all individuals with disabilities are guaranteed their rights under federal law. “Every year, millions of people from around the world travel to Florida to visit our theme parks,” Kehoe said in a statement issues with a department news release on the investigation “No one should ever be denied equal access to public accommodations based on disability.” Kehoe and Harmeet K. Dhillon, the U.S. Assistant Attorney General for the department’s civil rights division, informed CEO Marc Swanson of the investigation in their letter and said the department had not reached any conclusions about the company’s compliance with the ADA. They asked that company representatives meet with a DOJ attorney to discuss the matter within a week. The company didn’t immediately respond to an emailed request for comment Tuesday evening. Guest accessibility pages on the websites for the three parks say rollator walkers with seats are banned, but walkers without seats are allowed. Each says standard wheelchairs and electric convenience vehicles, or ECVs, are available to rent. SeaWorld Orlando’s website says the rental prices start at $40 for wheelchairs and $110 or ECVs. The SeaWorld Orlando page says the ban is for the safety of park guests and employees, while the pages for Aquatica Orlando and Busch Gardens Tampa Bay say the ban is due to different pathway configurations and terrain. The DOJ letter said that requiring visitors with disabilities who use rollator walkers to rent alternative devices could be another potential violation of the law. View the full article

  14. If there’s one thing we must NEVER forget on our Disney trips, it’s a portable charger for our phones! FuelRod Max 10 From taking pictures to checking wait times, we’re constantly on our phones! Thanks to this brand-new portable charger that just dropped on Amazon, it’s been a lifesaver (literally) on our Disney days. You need to take a look at this! DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission. We love this FuelRod Max 10 FuelRod Max 10 We seriously love the FuelRod Max 10! This is a HUGE Fuel Rod portable charger that’s been completely revamped from the form we once knew. Whether you’re someone who needs to keep up with important things on their devices while on vacation, needs access to apps on their phones constantly, the memory maker taking all the pictures and videos on their phone, or families charging multiple devices at the same time — this is for you! It’s growing on us quickly We’ll be completely honest, at $80 for the initial kit, it’s pretty expensive. However, the huge advantage here is that you can swap it for free at Disney World, so you’re never without power. The key features of the product include multiple charging ports, a lit battery life indicator on the side, a button to turn power off and on, multiple chargers for different charging ends, MagnaSafe so you can magnetically charge your phone, and swappable for FREE at Disney World. Charging magnetically It’s beefy — both in charge and capability. It’s got a lot more power and potential than its previous standard round rod model, and that makes it worth the investment. It’s good to use anytime of day, on multiple devices, can be easily swapped for another with a full charge, and even used when it’s raining magnetically, without the fear of ruining your charging port or expensive cord. Side button There are a couple of things that took some getting used to! It’s bulky when you’re using it to charge magnetically. Small hands may struggle to use their phone while it’s connected. It’s also slower to charge magnetically than plugged in, and its heaviness doesn’t make it pocket-friendly. We really like this for trips! Yes, there are cheaper versions, but the swapability is extremely convenient, plus more FuelRod stations are bringing this new model to all kinds of places like malls, airports, etc. It’s the same milliamps as a few of the others we’ve tried, like the INIUs that we typically use when we’re out in the parks every day. That being said, we’ll probably switch to this because this has the same capability and charge, AND we don’t have to worry about plugging up to charge after a long day in the parks. Magnetic charging included We’re giving this a 4.5 out of 5, only because of the bulkier, heavier feel, which is practically unavoidable but still not ideal. That being said, 4.5 out of 5 is pretty dang great! It seriously lasts us so long (and we go through an insane amount of battery on our phones taking pictures and videos of everything), and we love the ability to switch it out for free at Disney. View on Amazon We’re always on the hunt for the latest and greatest Disney souvenirs and essentials, so don’t forget to stay tuned to the Disney Food Blog for more! View the full article

EPCOT’s Festival of the Holidays is kicking off very soon (November 28th to be exact), and along with it comes some fun specialty souvenirs. 2024 EPCOT Festival of the Holidays If you need a special gift or you’re just a big Figment fan, the new long-sleeve festival shirt features our favorite purple dragon in his Christmas sweater! He looks so sweet and happy! ©Disney We’ve already gotten a sneak peek at the merchandise coming to the festival this year, and we think this shirt will match perfectly with the new Minnie Ears, also inspired by Figment’s Christmas sweater. This shirt, along with other souvenirs, will be available at Creations Shop. When you’re checking out, you will need to present your valid Annual Pass in the “Tickets and Passes” section of the My Disney Experience app and a valid government-issued photo ID. ©Disney This isn’t the only annual pass exclusive, though! This year, they’re also bringing back the exclusive Annual Passholder drink, this time in a Figment souvenir cup. From November 28th through December 30th, 2025, Annual Passholders can snag this limited-edition cup at Refreshment Station. ©Disney It’ll come filled with a Fanta blue raspberry slushy and topped with assorted candies. It’s sweet, colorful, and yes — your lips might turn a festive shade of blue while enjoying it. Based on our experience, this is inevitable! Annual Passholder Frostbite Frozen Slushy We can’t wait to wear our new passholder merchandise along with our new ears while we sip on our blue slush, all for the love of Figment, of course! 16. Two popular rides at two popular Disney Parks just got massive upgrades! EPCOT Disney has been making a lot of changes to its parks around the world, and there is no sign of them slowing down! We were very excited to see two changes in particular, which have officially been completed. We’re stopping at both Disneyland and EPCOT to check out these new versions of popular attractions! The agents at Small World Vacations know how to save money on your Disney Vacation! When you book your trip with Small World Vacations, their experienced agents monitor your reservation for possible future savings. They also compare discounts and figure out which one works best for your travel party, dates, resort, and touring plans. And they share expert tips and first-hand advice with you about your magical vacation. First, we’re headed to EPCOT, where we’ll walk around the World Showcase, and land in France! Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure has undergone some major changes — we’re talking changes that completely change the experience of the popular ride. Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure At the beginning of November, the ride closed down for four days (yeah, only four days for this change). It reopened on November 14th and has been up and running ever since. What were they doing? Well, they were making some queue upgrades and changing the ride from a 3D experience to a 2D experience! Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure That’s right, the ride is no longer in 3D. All the scenes are the exact same, along with everything else about the ride, just no more glasses. Even though it takes away a little from the immersion of the ride, it will be more enjoyable as a fair number of people got motion sickness with the 3D. So, go to EPCOT and check out the new version, see what you think! Hey, Remy! Next, we’re headed to Disneyland, where a new model was added to the Storybook Land Canal Boats. The popular attraction that takes you through tiny models from iconic Disney movies added another piece during its refurbishment. Now you can check out a brand-new miniature based on Rapunzel’s Tower from Tangled. Storybook Land Canal Boats The new tower includes a shingled turret and several high windows, a “meticulously cared for selection of flora”, and multiple wanted posters seeking Flynn Rider. Rapunzel Tower Guests on the attraction can hear the film’s iconic music. During the day, “When Will My Life Begin?” will play from Rapunzel’s Tower. In the evening, the music will switch to “I See the Light”, recreating the beautiful scene from the movie. Rapunzel’s tower It’s always so exciting when attractions we love get upgrades! Whichever park you’re at between the two, be sure to check these out. For more Disney news and updates, make sure to follow us at the Disney Food Blog so you don’t miss a beat. 18. Is it just us, or have we been getting a lot of Orlando International Airport news?! Orlando International Airport Almost everyone traveling to and from Disney World encounters the Orlando International Airport! The busy airport has been seeing many changes over the last year, with many more to come. One of those changes is the addition of a bunch of new restaurants, and as Disney Food Blog, we really couldn’t be happier. Not one, not two, but 13 new restaurants are headed to MCO. These new additions are a part of the overhaul plan from the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority’s plan to redevelop over 200,000 square feet of space, according to the Orlando Business Journal. MCO Airport Security According to the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority board meeting documents, the 13 restaurants signed a 10-year lease at a price of roughly $5.9 million. So, this will be a nice food offering upgrade. The restaurants include some popular chains such as: Chick-fil-A Einstein Bros Bagels Shake Shack Starbucks Panda Express Two Orlando-based chains: Piggza (a pizzeria) Bricks & Bowls (a sandwich shop) Some regional chains: Crisp & Green Just Love Coffee Cafe Naya Middle Eastern Counter & Grill Sambazon ©MCO The mix of national, local, and regional chains is intentional! Tracy Harris, vice president of concessions, said, “The plan is designed to provide opportunities for small, medium, and large companies to showcase the mix of local, regional, and national brands.” Be on the lookout in Terminal A and B for these new restaurants when they eventually open. ©MCO Work on these renovations has already begun, with the first round expected to open in 2026. The first phase includes local restaurants like Smoke & Donuts, Kelly’s Ice Cream, 4 Rivers Smokehouse, and Otto’s High Dive. ©MCO Starting next month, the airport will also begin replacing its trams. The work will officially begin on December 3rd, replacing the vehicles that transport passengers between gates 70–129 and Terminals A and B. This may impact passengers flying with Air Canada, Avelo Airlines, Delta, Frontier Airlines, LATAM, Southwest, and Virgin Atlantic. 20. Traveling during Thanksgiving is about to be CRAZY this year! Frontier Airlines It’s that time of year when holiday travel really starts to pick up. Whether you’re doing a road trip or flying through the air, it’s been said that this holiday season is expected to be the busiest travel season in 15 years! This Thanksgiving, travel is expected to be crazier than it’s been for a LONG time. It’s expected that this will be the busiest we’ve seen in 15 years, with anticipation that November 25th will see more than 52,000 flights across the country, according to the Federal Aviation Administration. Flying with Southwest It may be crazy, but the FAA is ready for the rush. FAA Administrator Bryan Bedford stated, “Thanks to the dedication of our air traffic controllers and every FAA employee, we are ready for the holiday rush and take pride in helping travelers reach their friends and families during this important time of year.” Orlando International Airport On November 26th, there will be roughly 50,130 flights, and on Thanksgiving Day, that number drops to 25,611. Flights will then peak again as everyone is traveling back from their Thanksgiving plans, on November 30th, with 51,268 flights. Orlando International Airport Terminal C During a busy holiday season, when traveling, we like to make sure we’re booked in advance, and have a day between the day we need to be at our destination room during the trip. That way, if there are any delays or cancellations, you don’t need to worry about missing Thanksgiving Day. The same can be said about having extra time if you have a connection during your travel. Ready to fly? We’re excited to celebrate Thanksgiving this week, and now we should be as prepared as we can be for the busy travel season. Make sure to stay tuned to the Disney Food Blog to stay up to date on all the latest travel news and updates. 21. We have quickly become big fans of the new Wailulu Bar & Grill at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort — Island Tower. Not only did the gorgeous views, airy atmosphere, and beautiful artwork sell us, but the food here is great. Wailulu Bar & Grill We tried this restaurant right when it opened, and we keep coming back to it. Soon, you’ll be able to make reservations here, but for now, we simply stopped by again because we had to try another dish that we think will be super popular (at least, it should be)! This entree and drink combo will have you scraping the bottom of your bowl and ordering another round. So let’s dive in, shall we?! When we stopped by Wailulu Bar & Grill recently, we decided to try the Grilled Tofu Poke Bowl and Hibiscus Tea. This bowl includes sushi-style rice, pickled cucumbers, vegetables, spicy poke sauce, macadamia nuts, and grilled tofu. It is available for $22 during lunch and dinner. The Hibiscus Tea is a non-alcoholic beverage that costs $5.79. Grilled Tofu Poke Bowl Let’s start off with the poke bowl. This was one of the best poke bowls we’ve ever had. The flavors were packed with island freshness — crisp radishes, creamy avocado, bright edamame, and other perfectly fresh veggies over rice that was cooked just right. The grilled tofu was smoky, flavorful, and filling enough to make it a full meal. The sauce tied it all together — tangy, sweet, and surprising with every bite. It made the whole bowl feel exciting and kept us scraping the bowl until the last bite. Grilled Tofu Poke Bowl To go with the island-fresh poke bowl, we ordered the Hibiscus Iced Tea. It’s a non-alcoholic drink that looks as good as it tastes. The deep red color comes with an orchid garnish on top, and it’s beautiful when it arrives at the table. The flavor starts with a real tea base, then gets lifted with the faintest hint of lime and a light sweetness from agave. It’s fruity but not fake, syrupy without being too sweet, refreshing without being overwhelming, and it lands perfectly right between a juice and a tea. Hibiscus Tea Together, the poke bowl and the iced tea made for a meal that feels exactly right for Disney’s Polynesian — fresh, vibrant, and full of island flavor. If you’re looking for a great meal option, whether you’re vegan or not, the Grilled Tofu Poke Bowl with the Hibiscus Tea is a great choice! Since it’s opening in December 2024, Wailulu Bar & Grill has been walk-up only, but starting December 3rd, the restaurant switches to Disney’s Advance Dining For more Disney food reviews, keep following DFB! 22. Even though Orlando might of never had a white Christmas, nobody does the holidays better than Central Florida. Looking for hot chocolate? Have a frozen one. Ready to watch the snow fall? Meet “snoap,” our fake snow that’s made of soap and still flutters down from the sky. It might not get as cold as other states, but we take our holiday celebrations very seriously. The Conrad! We recently visited the Conrad Orlando at Evermore, a resort only about 15 minutes away from Disney World, to see what they’re offering for the holidays! It’s Christmas time at the Conrad! There are tons of activities just minutes from Disney World, and we are obsessed with this spot. That’s why we’re bringing you with us to check out all of the festive fun. Trees all around! At this spot, you can find tons of special moments like meeting Santa and Mrs. Claus. Their Evening Meet & Greets are happening from December 19th to December 21st for anyone staying at the resort. Mrs. Claus and her elf, Jingle, were set up at the entrance so you and your kiddos can write letters to Santa! This was such a sweet way to kick off our visit. Mrs. Claus! We also tested out the Themed Holiday Crafts & Events, which are available daily! They include ornament and cookie decoration, wreath making, holiday ceramic painting, and lots more. Our wreath! We were seriously obsessed with the cookie decorations, specifically. It even came with milk on the side, perfect for Santa! Our cookies! We even learned that you can have ELVES visit your room! What?! The Conrad offers In-Room Elf Visits from December 12th through December 16th, where Santa’s elves will stop by to read Christmas stories, and you might even get to pick a toy from their workshop. This will blow your kids’ minds! Elves! We’re the Disney Food Blog, so don’t be surprised if we can sniff out menu previews a mile away. We got to see a preview of the holiday dining at the resort. We test out the Christmas Eve Feast of the Seven Fishes at Sophia’s Trattoria, which takes place on December 24th and includes a six-course meal and wine pairing. Our feast! It’s served family style and reminded us of a delicious Thanksgiving meal. There were tons of options like turkey, chicken, beef, fish, brussels sprouts, pastas, and so many desserts! The meat literally melted in our mouths, and we fell in love. Our plate! Also at Sophia’s Trattoria, you can try a Christmas Day Brunch on December 25th! If it’s anything like we tried, you’ll be very impressed. When it comes to decorations, Evermore Residences — including Houses and Flats — will be decorated to get everyone in on the spirit! You can book these decorated spaces by calling the Evermore Reservations department. Look at the decor! Gift wrapping services are also available if you have any last-minute needs and can’t sneak away to do it yourself. You can also request to have your hotel suite decorated. Inside the room! We also went on a Reindeer Scavenger Hunt around the resort! We had a chance to look at all the beautiful lights. The resort is already gorgeous, but we were pretty much in awe of all the lights. We also tried out the Fireside Roast and Glow ‘n Stroll. They were both self-led. The roast was making s’mores by the fire at the beach, and the glow and stroll was just taking in the ambiance of the evening around the hotel and beach area. It was a really nice ending to the night! Our roast! While we’re here, here’s a big reminder that there’s a big Black Friday offer for 40% off! This sale is unprecedented for the Conrad at Evermore, and you can grab the savings right here! It’s available for select dates through May 2026, but you must book between November 26th and December 2nd at 11:59 PM. Book Your Discounted Stay at the Conrad Orlando Right Here! 23. Walt Disney World offers a wide variety of attractions over its four theme parks, with rides for everyone from young children to thrill seekers to grandparents. Hollywood Studios alone features rides that fit into all these categories. However, just because Disney has different rides for every potential guest doesn’t mean that every ride is for every potential guest. Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway In my 30+ years visiting Disney World, my own body has started reacting differently to different rides, to the point where I’ve had to change some of my every visit list, especially when it comes to rides, and I’m only in my late 30s. How about Walt Disney World guests in their 50s? Which Hollywood Studios rides do some in that age range tend to skip? Well, this is what our anecdotal research shows! Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster Let’s begin with the obvious. The park’s most thrilling attraction features a 0-60 MPH launch and 3 inversions. Suffice to say, it’s not an ideal ride for those with physical issues with their neck or back, which tend to develop as people age. Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Skipping this coaster will likely be an extra bummer to those in their 50s once The Muppets take over of the attraction is complete in 2026, as they are right in the wheelhouse of those who grew up with the characters on television and in film. ©Disney Tower of Terror While not quite the thrill onslaught of the Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster, the Tower of Terror and its 13-story drop profile is likely a slip for those in their 50s who’ve developed issues with nausea or motion sickness. Tower of Terror Slinky Dog Dash On the other side of the spectrum, there’s the fun but decidedly family-friendly Slinky Dog Dash. Slinky Dog Dash in Hollywood Studios While most guests in their 50s can likely handle this coaster physically, many in that age range have little emotional investment in Toy Story, and likely won’t want to wait the length of time it takes to ride the attraction — unless they’re visiting with their kids or grandkids of course. Star Tours: The Adventure Continues While Star Tours simulator might be a bit rough on the body, it seems like most 50-year-olds who skip the attraction are likely doing so less because of physical issues and more over a preference for the original version, and in general, the original Star Wars trilogy. Kylo Ren! Runaway Railway Similar to Star Tours, 50+ guests potentially skipping Runaway Railway has much less to do with the physical ride, and more to do with missing the beloved Disney-MGM Studios original, the Great Movie Ride. Great Movie Ride While Hollywood Studios might be Disney World’s most popular current park from a ride standpoint, there are attractions that many in the 50+ demographic seemingly avoid.
