  1. There’s just something about Disney World during the holidays that makes me want to throw on a Mickey Santa hat and run straight to the parks. One of the best parts is the EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays! The Festival of the Holidays has arrived! This festival runs from November 28th to December 30th (so you’ll want to get over there quick), and we love to come on opening day so we can try all the food, check out the entertainment, and more, so you can have all the details to have the best visit ever. Seems like other people had the same idea because we got a look at some major crowds in EPCOT. When we walked in, we were greeted by larger groups than we even expected, ready to rope drop. The crowds were ready! Of course, the Creations Shop, where the limited edition merchandise is, had a huge line. People love to go early so they can make sure the souvenirs they want don’t sell out. Festival Merchandise Inside was pretty busy, too. Hey Figment Most food booths open at 11:00 AM, and some people even lined up to get their hands on the new food as soon as they could. Okay, we were definitely included with those people. The season is in full swing. It’s always pretty fun to look at the wait times across different attractions, too. The wait times looked surprisingly low because everyone was likely in line for the special entertainment and food offerings, though — of course — Frozen Ever After, Test Track, and Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind had their usual large waits by 9:30 AM EST (likely not helped by Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure being temporarily closed early in the day. Wait Times We’re bringing you all the details for EPCOT Festival of the Holidays, so make sure you keep following Disney Food Blog for more! 3. Recently, we got the chance to go to Disneyland Paris and check out all the resort had to offer, and that included ingesting a LOT of caffeine to keep us going. Starbucks in Disneyland Paris! While there are multiple different places to get coffee in Disneyland Paris, sometimes we wanted a taste of home, and would head straight to the Starbucks that was at our hotel, Hotel Santa Fe. However, since we were in an entirely different country, the menu options weren’t the same as what we have here in the United States! We had a lot of fun trying out the new offerings, and we’ll be honest — there are some of them that we want in the States ASAP! Inside the Starbucks, we found a decent amount of seating, and we loved the design that was on the walls! It was creative and something we hadn’t seen before. Inside the Hotel Santa Fe Starbucks Inside the bakery case, there were TONS of loaf slices, muffins, donuts, cookies, croissants, cinnamon rolls, and cake pops to choose from! So many options! We decided we wanted to try some of the items that were most unlike what we had back home, so we started with the Pistachio Pyramid for 4,95 euros. Unfortunately, this was just so-so to us. The filling was the best part of this, and if there was more, we would’ve loved it! The croissant was slightly dry, but the filling was creamy, nutty, and slightly earthy. Alas, the deliciousness of the filling couldn’t save the rest of the croissant. Pistachio Pyramid We also grabbed ourselves the Donut Blanc for 2,95 euros, which was surprisingly good! It was just a regular donut with chocolate and white chocolate icing, but it was so soft, and the chocolates were a nice, thin layer, which gave it an amazing texture and bite. We totally expected it to be dry, but were very pleasantly surprised when it wasn’t. Donut Blanc For a savory bite, we tried the Turkey Toastie, which was surprisingly delicious for a heated, pre-made snack. It was gooey in the best way, but had an amazing crunch on the edge. The cheese and the turkey went hand in hand, making it familiar and comforting, but the topping had a creaminess that reminded me of mayo or a heavier aioli (we didn’t know exactly what it was, but we appreciated it!). We highly recommend! Turkey Toastie Of course, we had to get a coffee, so we chose the Tiramisu Latte. Two of our reporters tried this and they were split on this one. However, they did agree on one thing — the cream cheese at the top makes it VERY sweet. It was well balanced with the heavy sweetness of the cream cheese and the bitterness of the coffee. All in all, if you’re someone who enjoys sweet items, give it a try, but otherwise, you may want to choose another drink. Tiramisu Iced Latte We’d love to see some of these arrive in the States at some point, but for now, we’ll just be dreaming about them until we can grab them again. Be sure to stay tuned to DFB for all the latest Disney snack reviews! 6. We tend to become creatures of habit when considering where we should pick up a snack in Magic Kingdom. With so many great snacks and quick service restaurants around, you don’t have to look too far for something good to eat and sip on. But if you were to press us, there’s one particular spot that’s got a death grip on our taste buds, and it hardly ever fails us. This was so good! We recently stopped by The Lunching Pad at Magic Kingdom to see what was cookin’, and now we’re bringing you our FULL review. Is it worth a stop on your next trip to the Most Magical Place on Earth? Find out here! Atmosphere Situated just below the Astro Orbiter in Tomorrowland, The Lunching Pad is a cozy spot with quick eats, served counter-service yet window style. It might not look like much, but it’s one of our most reliable places to turn when we’re looking for a snack, especially when that craving is for a specialty pretzel and cold slushes. Lunching Pad You’ll only find outdoor seating here, but at least it’s all under cover thanks to the fact that the loading area for the Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover is located directly above it. Find some seats But enough about the space — what’s on the menu here?! Menu Since this is a grab-and-go style counter service window, the menu here is fairly short. But don’t let that deter you from breezing by to check out their offerings. Some of our favorite snacks and drinks can be found here, and it’s not usually very busy when ordering. You can order at the counter or via Mobile Order. The Lunching Pad menu They’re a hot spot to look out for some seasonal offerings and limited-time eats, entrees… ©Disney …as well as snacks, sweet things, and an assortment of beverages! ©Disney And now, onto the main event — the food! Eats First up, we grabbed the Cream Cheese Warm Stuffed Pretzel for $7.99.This is a pretzel filled with warm cream cheese in the center, and it’s been one of our favorites for years! This is a staple and will always be a staple. It’s got creamy, warm, gooey cream cheese in the middle. Cream Cheese Warm Stuffed Pretzel It’s a little smaller than a Mickey pretzel, but also a little thicker. The outside isn’t coated in salt, which can sometimes make the traditional pretzels fairly salty. It has a mixture of crumbs on the pretzel, giving you a little more on the texture side. This is always a top-tier snack option! This is a staple snack! We also picked up the Queso Fundido Hot Dog for $13.49.This is made of an all-beef hot dog topped with queso fundido, street corn relish, and spiced tortilla strips served with a choice of a side. This is an option that’s newer to the menu here, as it first made its debut back in early 2023. Queso Fundido Hot Dog We’re happy this has stuck around for a while, because it is delicious. It is kind of like a chilli cheese dog, but with Queso Fundido. This has more spices to it than a true mozzarella queso. The toppings on the hot dog just work so well, and the crunchy texture just makes biting into it so satisfying. With its toppings, we could argue that you could share this with someone, depending on how hungry you are. This was delicious! To round out our meal here, we HAD to wind down with a sweet dessert! So we also grabbed the Sticky Bubble Bread for $5.49. It’s made of sweet bread rolled in cinnamon, caramel, and warm spices (another one that quickly won us over when it debuted in 2023 as a breakfast item. Sticky Bubble Bread This is super sticky (surprise surprise)! It’s very reminiscent of a cinnamon roll without the cinnamon on the inside. The cinnamon sugar on the outside is a little thicker than you’d expect, but we were here for it. There were a couple of other spices on this thing, and they added to it nicely. It’s so soft on the inside and easy to pull apart, which was another plus. Overall, this was delicious! So good, but so sticky! Drinks To drink, we picked up a Frozen Coca-Cola Slushy for $6.49. This is a simple Coca-Cola soda turned into a frozen drink (and it’s one that’s stolen our hearts here at Disney World, especially on a hot summer day)! This is like your usual slushy at Magic Kingdom. It’s always a go-to for us to cool us down and have something sweet. Frozen Coca-Cola Slushy Nosh or Not This Disney World restaurant is a must-visit if… You’re not too hungry! If you want a quick snack or bite, or even a solid filling lunch without overdoing it, this is the spot for you. You need something quick! As a quick service location, this won’t eat into any precious time during your Disney day. You’re looking for a TOP-TIER snack! Trust us, you’ll probably love everything here! You should skip this Disney World spot if… You want to sit down somewhere quiet and eat! This spot is in the middle of Tomorrowland, so you won’t be able to get away from crowds here if that’s what you need. You don’t want “fast food” options! This stuff is better quality than fast food, but it is a quick-service location. You’ll find more options and fresh food at table service spots. Overall Overall, we’re always going to this spot at the Magic Kingdom. It’s easy to get to, has unique options, and everything on the menu is delicious. You should try this place if you haven’t before! This was so good! In the meantime, we’ll be on the lookout for more restaurant updates from Disney World and beyond. 8. Over the course of the last 70 years, Disney has opened 12 theme parks across the world, from Anaheim’s original Disneyland all the way to the modern marvel that is Shanghai Disneyland. Disneyland Paris! Spread across the 6 resorts that house those 12 parks, Disney’s Imagineers have crafted hundreds of attractions, rides, and experiences, and over the years, we here at DFB have been lucky enough to see them all. Suffice to say, it’s tough to surprise us at a Disney park… tough, but not impossible. On a recent sojourn to the Disneyland Paris Resort, we spotted sheep! We saw them… Not sheep figures, not animatronic sheep, REAL SHEEP! …with our OWN eyes! What are these sheep doing in the missile of the park? Believe it or not, they’re actually there serving a very important purpose: According to Disneyland Paris, the sheep are actually part of their Environmental Responsibility initiative. The sheep are used for “eco-grazing” in backstage areas, as well as at the Disney Davy Crockett Ranch. According to the resort, every year, 5 to 7 hectares of land are grazed by a French breed of sheep. ©Disney The animals and their eco-grazing are part of a larger environmental initiative. The resort’s mission statement in that regard is laid out as such: “As a creator of stories that inspire current and future generations, the environment is taken into account in every decision we make, so we can create a unique and magical experience while passing on a positive and sustainable legacy to future generations.” Disneyland Park Entrance Next time you take a trip to Disneyland Parks, make sure to be on the lookout for these four-legged friends, who are helping the environment in the most adorable way possible! 9. We recently stopped by one of the premier snack spots in World Showcase — Kringla Bakeri og Kafe in the park’s Norway Pavilion — to check on one of EPCOT’s best-known snacks. Back to being one of EPCOT’s best The Norwegian Kringla has been such an integral part of the Norway pavilion for decades, so much so that the bakery is actually NAMED after it. While the party has always remained solid, we’d felt it lost a bit of its shine recently. Was that still the case on our last visit? Let’s find out! The Norwegian Kringla is a pretzel-shaped pastry served with sweet fondant, raisins, and a chocolate topping, all for $7.49. Menu So, the first thing that EPCOT veterans might notice is that the previously available almond version is no longer available, with only the chocolate version being available. While that may seem like a loss (and we’re sorry to any almond fans), it seems like the streamlining was actually very beneficial to the dish. We’re not sure if Disney changed the recipe when they dropped the almond version or if the focus on just one flavor improved quality control, but this new chocolate Kringla is, in our opinion, the best it’s ever been, both in flavor and texture. For starters, the texture was flawless. In the past, we found the dough to be hit or miss, sometimes occasionally stale or tough. That wasn’t the case this time, as we found the Kringla to be completely soft, no crust, no chewiness issues, just fresh, pillowy bread. Seems that we weren’t the only ones to like it… That Kringla texture — think white bread or a light baguette — is then shaped into a pretzel and filled with raisins. They may “just” be dried out grapes, but those raisins pack an incredible punch of sweetness and rich depth to the dish. From there, the Kringle is drizzled with white and milk chocolates. While that’s plenty of sweetness, the bread itself isn’t sugary at all, so the overall flavor profile never crosses into “dessert overload.” Instead, it’s a near-perfect balance, with most of the sweetness coming from the natural sugar in the raisins. Yuum Overall, our recent visit to the Kringla Bakeri really left us with the feeling that the Kringla has found new life, and is arguably better than it’s been in years. In other words, if you haven’t popped by Norway lately, you might want to make your way over there ASAP during your next EPOCT visit. Stay tuned to DFB for more on Disney World snacks! 10. The Rainforest in Animal Kingdom? Yes, Please. Rainforest Cafe in Animal Kingdom Have you ever wanted to dine under a starlit rainforest sky while surrounded by elephants, tigers, and birds? At Rainforest Cafe, you can because the jungle’s wild side comes to you! We recently stopped by Rainforest Cafe for breakfast at Disney’s Animal Kingdom to see what was cookin’, and now we’re bringing you our FULL review. Is it worth a stop on your next trip to the Most Magical Place on Earth? Find out here! Atmosphere Get ready to have a wild time inside a vibrant jungle atmosphere at Rainforest Cafe. This restaurant is lively and immersive, with lush greenery, “animated” animals, and the sounds of rain and thunder rolling through the restaurant intermittently — all under a twinkling starlit sky, no matter what time of day you visit. The menu is just as adventurous as the surroundings. There’s something for everyone, from hearty burgers and sandwiches to fresh seafood and crisp salads, often with a tropical twist. Shareable appetizers and desserts, including the iconic “Sparking Volcano,” make it easy to turn your meal into a full-on feast. Dining room Although there are two Rainforest Cafe locations at Disney World, the one at Disney’s Animal Kingdom is unique for a couple of reasons. Not only is it the only location where you can opt to grab breakfast, but even though it’s located on the park’s property, you actually DON’T need park admission to dine here. That’s a win/win if you ask me! Fish tanks in the wall Sure, some people wonder how it stacks up against the local mall locations, and waits can get a bit long but there are ways to avoid that by grabbing a dining reservation online to help you skip the standby wait. And let’s be honest — the kids absolutely love it. Between the immersive decor and the playful animals, it’s a dining experience that’s as much about fun as it is about food. The gift shop is pretty wild! But enough about the restaurant — what’s on the menu here?! Menu The menu here is fairly extensive, boasting multiple categories of main entrees and sides so you can truly find something for everyone to enjoy while dining here. You’ll start off with a few traditional breakfast plates and skillets… ©Disney …before moving on to a few more heartier options (which honestly has our mouths watering just reading through it.) ©Disney If you’re looking for something a little extra there’s a few healthier sides to choose from as well as sides and small plates for those looking for slimmer portions. ©Disney There’s even a wide array of options for kids to pick from… ©Disney …as well as a few beverages, smoothies, and extra kicks to get your brunch started in the morning! ©Disney And for you coffee drinkers, don’t worry — there’s plenty here to fuel you for the day ahead. ©Disney And now, onto the main event — the food! Drinks To drink, we picked up the Brazilian Freeze for about $7.00. This is a smoothie made with coconut, pineapple, raspberry puree, and banana blended with ice. Brazilian Freeze The best way we can describe this smoothie is “safe”, and that’s not a bad thing. It was a nice, thick smoothie with a slight tropical kick to it, but nothing that would turn off picky eaters. Eats First up, we grabbed the Breakfast of Bandits for $17.49. This is made with two eggs prepared your way with a choice of bacon, sausage, or country ham. Served with breakfast potatoes and toast. Breakfast of Bandits So, continuing the theme from the smoothing, this was a relatively safe breakfast meal, similar to offerings from, say, a Waffle House. The eggs were a bit plain, with that “bagged” taste you’ll get with fast food eggs. We’d probably add some salt and pepper to them just to add some flavor. The potatoes and meat options were solid additions and complemented the eggs well enough. Breakfast of Bandits Still raging from a wild appetite, we knew we needed to grab one more plate! So, we ordered the Chicken and Waffles for $18.49. This dish is built with a Belgian Waffle, buttermilk fried chicken, country gravy, and two eggs prepared your way. Chicken and Waffles The chicken was a boneless breast covered in a brown gravy-like sauce. The piece was lightly breaded, tender to cut, and we really enjoyed this dish. Chicken and Waffles For the side options, we opted for scrambled eggs. They were fine, but a word of warning: The chicken was served directly on top of them, so if you’re not a fan of different foods touching each other/mixing together, this may not be for you. Chicken and Waffles The waffles were cut into pieces, served on skewers with cups of fruit and powdered sugar. The waffles themselves were fine, though some better-flavored syrup would have been nice. Chicken and Waffles Nosh or Not This Disney World restaurant is a must-visit if… You need an easy, last-minute reservation. While other Disney hot spots are booked solid weeks in advance, Rainforest Café is often a same-day success. You might even be able to walk in, which can feel like a rarity in the world of Disney World dining. If you find yourself wanting to grab a bite without the wait times, head here! You need something familiar. Let’s be honest, sometimes you don’t want a meal “with a twist.” Rainforest Café offers straightforward, filling, and comforting food that most people in your party will enjoy, without the risk of overly fancy ingredients or flavors. This is sure to be a crowd pleaser for everyone, including even the pickiest of eaters and kids! You’re traveling with kids or big groups. The over-the-top theme is actually a win for many. Kids are entertained by the animals and effects while adults sip cocktails in peace. It’s a strong choice for multigenerational families or larger groups with different tastes. You should skip this Disney World spot if… You’re already overstimulated from the parks. The ambiance is loud, the animatronic animals can be startling if you’re not ready for them, and the gift shop exit is very much a thing. If you’re hoping for a quiet, relaxing meal… this probably isn’t what you want. You only want to spend this much money if the food is mind-blowing. While the menus here are solid, don’t expect culinary fireworks. It’s tasty, reliable, and satisfying, but not going to compete with the best food experiences at Disney World — not even close. You despise inconsistency. Among Disney fans, the Rainforest Café is often dismissed as a generic chain, and for lunch or dinner, that criticism is fair. We’ve had good food here, but we have also left feeling disappointed. Overall It’s easy to rag on the Rainforest Cafe locations at Walt Disney World when compared to some of the property’s other dining options. However, there’s no denying that this is a good spot to have on your radar if you’re traveling with a picky eater or two who crave a safe, familiar meal. The spread In the meantime, we’ll be on the lookout for more restaurant updates from Disney World and beyond. Make sure you stay tuned to the Disney Food Blog for the latest Disney news and more! D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event At the Honda Center, get ready for three nights of big-time Disney reveals that focus on Disney entertainment, Disney Parks and experiences, and more! Disneyland’s 70th Anniversary End Date We previously mentioned that Disneyland is currently celebrating its 70th anniversary, and that party will continue into the summer of 2026! 70th Anniversary Castle Tribute in Disneyland The celebration — which includes special entertainment, decorations, ride overlays, limited-time treats, exclusive merch, and more — does not have an end date yet, but we know it won’t be around in the latter half of the year. It’s so cute At this point in time, we can only speculate when the event will end (which will likely be before Halloween Time starts in mid-to-late August). So if you want to catch the famous Paint the Night Parade — a beloved nighttime parade that has returned specifically for this event — one last time, we recommend doing so well before then. 12. It’s Thanksgiving Day, and guess where we are? Disney World, of course! Thanksgiving Day crowds at the Magic Kingdom Tapstiles We started our day bright and early, and there was a bit of a back-up at the Disney World entrance this morning. Now that we’re in the park, let’s take a look at the holiday crowds. Now, we usually warn you away from holiday weekends in Disney World because they can be quite crowded. This morning, though, we were surprised! Main Street, U.S.A. really felt like…a normal day in Magic Kingdom. Thanksgiving Day crowds on Main Street, U.S.A. There were the usual crowds down at the hub taking castle pics (guilty!). Magic Kingdom on Thanksgiving Day As we made our way to Fantasyland, though, we did notice a big back-up at Seven Dwarfs Mine Train. The posted wait time was 55 minutes at about 10 AM, but the line looked like Disney would be updating that wait time soon. We think the Lightning Lane may have been backed up. The line for Seven Dwarfs Mine Train was backed up. Speaking of Lightning Lanes, EVERY Lightning Lane Single Pass in Disney World is sold out for Thanksgiving Day. That’s right — every one of the most popular rides in Disney World is sold out of Lightning Lanes, and your only option is the standby line. In addition, Lightning Lane Multi Pass in EPCOT is sold out. So, that’s why we are definitely not telling you that Disney World is empty today! All those people are going to show up to redeem those Lightning Lanes…we’re just guessing a lot of them are waiting until after they’ve had their turkey and mashed potatoes to come out to the parks. There were still plenty of people waiting to see Santa in Storybook Circus (we KNOW him!). SANTA! Here’s hoping you have a wonderful holiday weekend, whether you’re in Disney World or elsewhere! 14. Magic Kingdom is a fan-favorite theme park, especially during the holiday season. This iconic park is what many people immediately think of when they start planning their Disney World vacation. There’s the magnificent Cinderella Castle, Main St., U.S.A., and the classic Disney rides. Magic Kingdom One thing to consider when you’re planning your trip to Magic Kingdom is your transportation. Unfortunately, unlike the other Disney World parks, you can’t park your car right near the entrance. You either have to jump on the Monorail at one of the surrounding hotels, take a bus from the other hotels, or park at the Transportation and Ticket Center (TTC), where you’ll then either take the Ferryboats or the Monorail. If you’re planning to park at the TTC on your way to Magic Kingdom in the coming months, we have some bad news about the Ferry you’ll want to think about before hopping on the boat. The other day, one of our reporters was at Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. This reporter uses a wheelchair, and most often takes the Ferry instead of the Monorail to Magic Kingdom because of the very large hill to the Monorail. If someone is there to push her, it’s not usually an issue, but that’s not typically the case for her, so she takes the Ferry, which she can ride independently. However, on the day that she was at the holiday party, though, she ended up wishing she had taken the Monorail! The entrance to the Ferryboat. What our reporter noted about the Ferry will affect all of us who typically enjoy the Ferry ride to Magic Kingdom — it was COLD. Even though the time it takes to get to Magic Kingdom on the Ferry and the Monorail is generally about the same (we’ve timed it ), the Ferry in the winter months can be way too cold to enjoy, even in Florida. The fewer people on the Ferry might entice you every other season of the year, but you might want to think twice in November through January. The Ferry This is especially true at the end of the night after the Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. By midnight, the temperature has likely dropped, plus being on the water in an open Ferry makes it nearly frigid. If you do want to ride the Ferry, we highly recommend packing some warm layers with you! Behold, the Ferryboat! When you’re making your transportation plans to Magic Kingdom this winter, be sure to take this warning into consideration and pack appropriately! 16. We’ve got a past-present-future theme going for this holiday shopping suggestion list. And each item may have historic implications, depending on how seriously you take your football. Or we can call it an up-in-the-air list with ventures, real and imagined, into the cosmos, plus a serious weather front. Get popping Central Florida’s biggest theme park story of the year is the opening of Epic Universe at Universal Orlando. There’s a dearth of park merch with 2025 branding, which would have been a nice debut-year touch. Instead, we’ll seek out gifts from the Mysteries of 2020s Collection, more specifically, the popcorn container, to represent this slice of theme park life. Universal sells the popcorn “buckets,” which are shaped like the golden compass-inspired Epic Universe logo and give off vibes from the Chronos, the 78-foot main-gate portal of the new attraction. It comes with a carrying strap, and the background, a sort of cosmos design, lights up. The collectibles sell for $34.99 each, and that includes a load of popcorn, too. They’re available at stores at the theme park as well as Universal CityWalk. (Also check out shopuniversal.com.) Like the emblem, but don’t like getting things caught in your teeth? The Epic Universe symbol also appears on T-shirts, mugs, caps, backpacks, beach towels, water bottle bags and more. And other Epic popcorn container options include Mario Kart and Toothless (of “How to Train Your Dragon” fame and an Isle of Berk favorite character at Epic). In the words of Epic Universe’s exit portal: “You wonder which path to chart, the answer lies within your heart.” A holiday ornament shaped like the mammoth Vehicle Assembly Building is available at Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex. (Dewayne Bevil/Orlando Sentinel) Space case Let’s think very big and then go back to very small. What if the Vehicle Assembly Building, the 526-foot-tall boxy building at Kennedy Space Center, could dangle from your Christmas tree? It’s possible, if only in a fanciful way, thanks to the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex, which offers a wee VAB — it’s about 2.25 inches tall — as a holiday ornament. It has a small row of colorful bulbs near the roofline. It sells for $19.99. The real-life version, we’ll say, is much pricier. Among its roles in the past was a home for NASA’s space shuttle fleet. There are several other KSC-sold ornaments, including an astronaut-styled nutcracker, Space Shuttle Atlantis and Santa Claus with Apollo 13 landing parachutes (peppermint-striped, of course). The ornaments are sold online (kennedyspacecenter.com) and at stores at the visitor complex. The Orlando Storm, an expansion team of the United Football League, is scheduled to begin play in the spring. (Courtesy UFL) Storm front There’s no need to hunker down, but you can be ahead of the curve of the local athletic scene with an Orlando Storm T-shirt. The team, part of the United Football League, has yet to play an official game, but there’s available merchandise already, including T-shirts with the stormy, hurricane-ish logo on them. If you squint a little, you can make O.S. out of it. The Storm are scheduled to debut in the spring, one of three new teams in the professional league, and will play at Inter&Co Stadium, which has been primarily known as the home to the Orlando City and Orlando Pride soccer clubs. So far, the Storm tees come in orange or white (as well as a purple version that is available only in a ladies’ cut). 17. Character dining might be one of the most magical ways to meet your favorite Disney characters all at the comfort of your own table. Hi Mirabel! We’re heading to 1900 Park Fare at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa for breakfast, and we’re taking you along with us. Is the food and characters worth the price? Let’s find out. Atmosphere Come on in! Located in the Grand Floridian, 1900 Park Fare brings a similar aesthetic into the restaurant. There are nods to the early 20th century with carousel theming, whimsical decor, and impressionist-style Disney artwork. Make sure you look up when you enter the dining room to see gorgeous portraits of Disney characters and check out the turn-of-the-century organ from France that’s been at the Grand Floridian since 1988. It’s called Big Bertha. Big Bertha We’ve dined across all of the character meals at Disney World, and while we’re used to buffets, we thought this was one of our more relaxing character experiences. Other restaurants left us feeling rushed and stressed, but 1900 Park Fare struck the perfect balance between food and characters. Once you sit down, we recommend ordering your drinks and then getting food. We found the characters came very close together as they do certain sections of the restaurant at a time, so once you feel all four, go up for seconds and get ready for a small show they do in the dining hall. Then your server will ring your check, and you’re on your way. Inside Some character dining experiences allow you to meet characters more than once, but 1900 Park Fare has more of a system to get you through everyone once, but we felt like the characters spent a good amount of time with us, which felt longer than other dining experiences. Dining room Menu 1900 Park Fare is a buffet restaurant, so you’ll pay one price for the food and drinks like soda products and coffee, but you can add on specialty cocktails and hot beverages. It costs $58 per adult and $37 per child (ages 3 to 9), plus tax and gratuity. Menu The breakfast menu is packed with pastries like doughnuts and muffins as well as breakfast staples like eggs, biscuits, bacon, omelets, and a ham carving station. They also have croissant breakfast pizza and some plant-based and gluten-free options. Don’t forget to try the famous Grand Floridian Strawberry Soup! Buffet Characters While the characters can occasionally change without notice, you can generally meet Aladdin… Aladdin …Cinderella… Cinderella …Mirabel… Mirabel …and Princess Tiana. These are all characters known for making dreams come true and for wishing. Characters will come up to you at your table, but don’t worry if you’re getting food at the buffet and miss anyone. Cast Members are great at making sure every character visits every table, but you can also remind your server if you’re getting ready to leave and haven’t met someone. Princess Tiana You also receive a wish card so you can make a wish and participate in the Wish Ceremony. It has the characters’ signatures on the back! Room to write your wish Eats Heading to the buffet, we started with the Cheesy Grits, and oh my gosh, we started off right. These were phenomenal, but cheesy and buttery, with the perfect texture that made our Southern hearts flutter. They weren’t dry in the slightest, and we devoured the entire bowl with zero regrets. Cheesy Grits We grabbed the Carved Ham, and this wasn’t quite our favorite. It was fairly dry, tough, and hard to cut through, but it was salty and savory, and it still had a great flavor. The texture just wasn’t our favorite. Carved Ham Once we saw the chefs put out a fresh batch, we piled a few Tator Tots on our plates. No, these were not insanely unique, but they were crispy, hot, and fresh, and honestly, sometimes you just need something you know you’re going to love. In addition to those potatoes, we also got the Cheesy Potato Casserole. For us, this is a staple of Disney buffets, and we hardly skip on it. They’re creamy and salty with the perfect balance of cheese and potato. You just have to have them! Potatoes for days For a sweeter option, we grabbed a Double-Chocolate Muffin, which we think will be super popular amongst the kids. It was a smidge on the dry side but had a great chocolate flavor and reminded us of a chocolate muffin with a chocolate chip cookie on top, which is pretty fun. Double Chocolate Muffin We also got the Cinnamon Pull-apart Bread, which was truly heavenly. It pulled apart easily, and the flavors were spot on. We loved the stickiness and sweetness of the icing and how the bread was fluffy and light but not overly sweet, so it balanced well with the glaze. SO heavenly Finally, we ended with the Grand Floridian Strawberry Soup, which we always say you need to try at least once. We added whipped cream on top and love how light and fresh the soup was. It’s served cold and has a moderate strawberry flavor that’s not too tangy or tart but just the right balance. Strawberry Soup Drinks For a fun drink, we had the So Many Wishes for $6.79, which is a non-alcoholic drink made with Pomegranate Green Tea, Hibiscus, Lemon, and a dash of Star Dust. So Many Wishes While we enjoyed the drink, we’re not sure we really tasted all of the flavors promised. It tasted more like pink lemonade, with a little extra fruit flavor that was fairly generic. We think kids (and adults!) who love lemonade, especially pink lemonade, will really enjoy this special treat. We also got POG juice! We also wanted to mention that on the menu, there are Non-Alcoholic Specialty Offerings and Zero-Proof Cocktails. The non-alcoholic beverages do not have any alcohol in them, but the zero-proof cocktails use zero-proof spirits, which might have other alcohols in them with lower alcohol content. We recommend asking your server more about it if you have any questions. Nosh or Not Go ahead and book that reservation for 1900 Park Fare if… You’re looking to meet more unique characters beyond the traditional princesses or Mickey and friends You like familiar breakfast items mixed in with some more unique ones You want a nice breakfast before heading to Magic Kingdom, or you are staying at the Grand Floridian You might want to skip this spot if… Character dining and the idea of being interrupted while you’re eating stressed you out (hey, we get it!) You prefer to be served at your table rather than serving yourself at a buffet. You’re looking for more of a low-cost option that’s faster and inside the parks 1900 Park Fare Overall We love 1900 Park Fare! The character experiences are so fun and unique, and we loved not feeling rushed. The food was delicious, with common breakfast staples and some fun, unique dishes to try. Sometimes, with restaurants at resorts, we only recommend them if you’re staying at the resort, but since this is a quick monorail ride from Magic Kingdom, we definitely think you should add this to your list. It’s a great meal paired with your favorite characters — what’s not to love? In the meantime, make sure you keep following Disney Food Blog for more restaurant reviews, so you know where you should spend your money on your next Disney World vacation. 18. Are you heading to Universal Orlando soon? Now is a great time to visit the resort. Not only do you get to experience the updated Wicked: The Experience, but you can also visit Epic Universe (which is…dare we say…EPIC) and see all the holiday decorations and meet the Grinch. Hogwarts Express However, if you plan on visiting Universal Orlando next week and had plans to ride one popular ride, you may just be out of luck: Hogwarts Express will be temporarily closing soon. The Hogwarts Express ride is located in Hogsmeade in Universal Islands of Adventure and Diagon Alley in Universal Studios Florida…it’s basically a way to park hop if you have Universal’s 2-Park per day ticket. The ride simulates what the ride between the actual Hogsmeade and Diagon Alley would be like, and it’s always VERY popular. However, as of December 3rd, the ride will be closing. Hogwarts Express This is a temporary closure, which is probably just to do some maintenance on the ride, and it probably won’t be closed for very long, but it will change how you travel between the parks if you’re visiting The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. While the ride is closed, you’ll just have to hop between parks the old-fashioned way…via their front gates. That’s certainly not as much fun or impressive, but these things happen. Let’s go! We’ll keep an eye out for the ride’s reopening and let you know when it is available again. In the meantime, you can also keep an eye on Universal Orlando’s website or app to see when the ride might reopen. We also wanted to warn you about another Hogwarts Express closure scheduled for February 9th through 23rd, 2026. You’ll want to make sure that doesn’t interfere with your early 2026 Universal Orlando trip. Stay tuned to DFB for more. 19. It’s never too early to stock up on Disney World essentials! Stanley IceFlow I’m the type of Disney adult that’s up at 5 AM making Advance Dining Reservations, comparing hotel prices like it’s my full-time job (well, it kind of is!), and making a spreadsheet to help plan our entire itinerary seven months before we go on the trip. That also means I’m the type of Disney adult that saves every essential I need for my next trip and waits until a huge sale drops to buy them! Thanks to the huge deals for Amazon’s Black Friday event, that’s exactly what I did, and I’m sharing DFB’s favorite park finds with you now! DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission. Get the FROGG TOGGS Poncho 41% off Frogg Togg Poncho This has been a lifesaver in the parks for many of our reporters! Regular ponchos in the humid Florida weather get so sticky and moist, but not with FROGG TOGGS. The material is breathable, and we love that it comes with its own bag so it doesn’t get the rest of our stuff wet when we’re done with it. You may think something this amazing comes at an unreasonable cost…but it doesn’t! Snag it for 41% off right now. View on Amazon This INIU Charger keeps your phone on, even after hours on the Disney World app. INIU Charger Phones have become pretty impressive when it comes to battery life, but if you plan to be out in Disney World all day, you’re going to need backup. That’s where a portable charger comes in, and the INIU one is slim, so it doesn’t take up too much room in your park bag. Charge three devices at one time — there is one USB-A slot and two USB-C slots. View on Amazon We love the Stanley IceFlow for keeping us hydrated! Stanley IceFlow One of the biggest tips we give to first-time Disney World visitors is to NOT buy bottled water. Bring your own and fill up at one of the many water fountains or water bottle refill stations around the park! We recently tested five different water bottles in the parks to find our favorite, and we loved this Stanley. It’s compact enough to fit in a water bottle sleeve on a backpack, and it keeps ice and water cool for hours. A bunch of colors are on sale now! View on Amazon Or, you can grab this Mini Fan to help stay cool! JISULIFE Handheld Mini Fan This may look like just a fan, but it’s actually so much more. Not only are the battery-operated fan blades there to keep you cool throughout the day, but this also acts as a portable charger AND flashlight. View on Amazon Don’t forget a Power Strip! One Beat Extension Cord and Power Strip Although the number of outlets per room has improved over the years, it may not be enough for all of the phones, smart watches, MagicBand+, iPads, computers, or any other tech you might bring. Each person typically comes with several devices, but you can charge them all in one place with a power strip like this! There are three regular outlets, two USB-A ports, and two USB-C ports in this one package. View on Amazon Or try out the MultiCharger! MultiCharger for MagicBand+ We’ve been using this for years, and it’s perfect if you still have several USB-A cords for your devices. You can charge several MagicBands or other devices all at the same time using this super compact tool. It will barely take up any room in your carry-on! View on Amazon Don’t forget this game-changing Loungefly organizer! HOYOFO Mini Backpack Organizer Spending an entire day in Disney World requires many items. But if you don’t have any way to organize them, it turns into a 30-minute affair digging through your backpack to find a Band-Aid! That’s why we’re huge fans of the Loungefly organizer. It fits a ton of stuff and keeps everything in its place. This is rarely on sale, so grab it at a discount while you can! View on Amazon And finally, the Backpack Spacer is the newest essential you didn’t know you needed. VentaPak Lightweight Ventilation Backpack Spacer It may not look like much, but this Backpack Spacer made a world of difference in Disney World. It’s usually used for biking, hiking, and other outdoor activities, and it’s meant to provide ventilation to your back. We’ve all been there — the backpack sweat stains cover the entire back of your shirt — but this can save you from that discomfort and embarrassment. 22. It’s hard to believe that Disney World closed over five years ago, although there are still some things that haven’t yet returned to the park (and may never return again). We miss things like package delivery to hotels from the parks, food seminars and demonstrations at the EPCOT Food & Wine Festival, and other things that feel like they’ve been gone forever. Marching bands are back! However, some pre-pandemic traditions ARE returning to the parks, even now, five years later. This morning, we witnessed a marching band in EPCOT, which we haven’t seen since 2020. Yes, that’s right, high school marching bands have returned to EPCOT. It’s been a long time since we’ve seen this sight, but to give you some context, this used to happen during mornings in the park. The bands are made up of high school students in the Disney Imagination Campus program. And you can now catch them in World Showcase. So fun seeing them again! We were told the bands usually start marching through EPCOT at around 10 AM, and we managed to catch them as they played and marched their way through World Showcase. They liven up World Showcase! The bands start at the American Adventure pavilion and then do a loop around World Showcase. You’ll usually have the opportunity to see a few different bands. We recommend taking time to see the marching bands and cheer on these young high school students who are bringing this entertainment back to EPCOT. We also hope that means we’ll see even more pre-pandemic traditions return to the parks (hello, can we bring back Citizens of Main Street next, please?). We’ll be keeping an eye out for more surprises like this, so stay tuned to DFB for more.
