  1. Dining in Disney World can make or break your trip if we’re being honest! Certain foods around Disney can be expensive and lackluster compared to the hidden gems or classic treats. That’s why we’ve dedicated our entire careers to finding the best food around the theme parks! Raglan Road Disney Springs, the resort’s shopping and dining district, is home to several of those hidden gem dining spots, like Raglan Road Irish Pub! This table service has been a favorite of ours for years, and for a limited time, it’s going to get even better. Let’s see what we’re snacking on right here! If you’ve ever been strolling around Disney Springs unsure of where to stop for a bite to eat, you aren’t alone! There are so many restaurants at the popular stop that it can feel overwhelming to choose. One of our favorite spots, Raglan Road, is a great restaurant for entertainment, fun atmosphere, and amazing food. Raglan Road Normally, the restaurant only offers lunch and dinner with brunch on the weekends, but for a limited time, you can enjoy breakfast items until 12 PM! From December 23rd, 2025, until January 1st, 2026, you can try a selection of Irish-inspired breakfast dishes at this spot. Inside Raglan Road Over on Instagram, the restaurant shared the 4 dishes you can try: Hipsters Lament– Smashed avocado, Irish bacon & poached eggs on sourdough with chive butter, roasted tomato and crispy skin potatoes. It’s Okay To Drool – Their famous Bread & Butter Pudding, French toast style with vanilla mascarpone, mixed berries, and crispy maple-glazed bacon. Full Irish – A full Irish breakfast with Cheshire Heritage pork Irish banger, black & white pudding, Irish bacon, roasted tomato, mushrooms & fried eggs with crispy skin-on fried potatoes. Say No More – Scrambled eggs, maple-glazed smoked Brunson bacon, egg fried sourdough, slow roasted tomato, crispy skin-on fried potatoes. ©Raglan Road The warm, comforting options are what we need just in time for Florida’s short, yet chill winter weeks! Ragland is also offering a Christmas Day menu for the holiday that includes Carrot and Turnip Soup, Butter and Herb Roasted Turkey, and a Raspberry Jam Swiss Roll. ©Raglan Road If you’re in Disney Springs, but you won’t be around to try these limited-time items, don’t forget this spot has brunch on Saturdays and Sundays from 10 AM to 3 PM. We can’t wait to put these new bites to the test, along with tons of other holiday snacks around the resort. As always, be sure to keep following DFB for more Disney news, updates, and more! 2. Are you planning on visiting Disney World soon? Will you be driving to the resort or renting a car from the airport to drive to Disney World? EPCOT parking lot If so, there are some key things you need to keep in mind. First, make sure you’re aware of Disney World’s driving and parking rules. You’ll also need to make sure that you know where to park at Disney World hotels and resorts (fortunately, there’s plenty of signage to help you find parking). But the one thing you should NEVER do is leave your valuables in your car once you’ve parked, and we’re going to tell you why. According to People, a valet at a Disney World hotel was recently arrested for cashing fraudulent checks after taking a checkbook from a hotel resort guest’s vehicle. An arrest affidavit filed in Orange County, Florida, states that authorities responded to a burglary at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge on December 3rd. A visitor visiting the resort reported receiving notifications from her bank that someone had written four checks out of her account and that her checkbook was missing from her vehicle. Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge entrance In the statement, the victim explained that she had valet parked her car. When she received notifications from the banks, she also received screenshots of the checks, which were written out to someone she didn’t know. Officers then used that information to find the suspect and arrest him. According to Disney, the valet did not directly work for the company but for a third-party company that provides valet services to the hotel. Animal Kingdom Lodge This is why we want to remind you not to leave any valuables in your car. Even in Disney World, your valuables may not be safe from theft. You should keep your checkbooks, debit cards, and credit cards either on you or inside your hotel room safe. Double-check your car before you park or hand it over to a valet to ensure that nothing important is being left inside the vehicle. Stay tuned to DFB for more. 4. You’ve seen the Disney World parks busy, we’re 99% sure, but there’s something about Disney Springs when it’s packed. Disney Springs can get pretty busy! Disney Springs is the shopping and dining district of Disney World, so for Orlando locals who are looking to see a movie at the AMC Theater, or maybe do some gift shopping, or just go to their favorite restaurant, that’s all going to be in ADDITION to the crowds that are there from out of town visitors. While during the week can get crowded too, especially towards holidays, weekends at Disney Springs? This is EXACTLY why we recommend avoiding them. We stepped into Disney Springs this weekend just to check out how things were looking, and the crowds were WILD. We’re talking shoulder to shoulder in multiple areas, even where the walking paths are wider. Disney Springs crowds Now, it’s possible the crowds could be slightly heavier due to holiday shopping, but we’ve noticed that in general, weekends in Disney Springs are pretty hectic. In fact, we had one of our local reporters mention that she’s stopped going to see movies at the AMC Theater on weekends just due to the intense crowds, no matter what time of day it is. AMC Theater Just look at this — about midday on Saturday, this was the line for the Daily Poutine. Yes, all those people in the back left corner? They’re all in line! Look at that line! If you’re looking for the lowest crowds in Disney Springs, we recommend staying away from the holiday season as a whole, but if that isn’t possible, then Monday-Thursday is your best bet. 7. If you’re sick and tired of that bar soap slipping out of your hands when you’re washing your hands in the sink at your Disney World hotel, you’ll never believe what could be on the way. This is a BIG day We heard a report from a friend of ours that pump soap could be arriving at various Disney World hotel room bathrooms, and we knew we needed to check it out ourselves. So, we headed over to Animal Kingdom Lodge to check it out ourselves, and were NOT disappointed! Sure enough, we checked it out ourselves, and pump soap IS now available in Disney World hotel rooms, or it seems Disney is transitioning to having both bar soap and pump hand soap available. Additionally, pump hand lotion is available as well. Pump soap AND lotion! The back of the bottles indicates that these aren’t for individual sale and are made in the United States with “globally sourced ingredients.” Now this does make it hard for those with allergies or sensitive skin to see what’s inside, but if need be, you can call down to the front desk and see if they can find a list of ingredients. The back You will still get bar soap in your room if you prefer to use it, as well as Disney mouthwash, a Vanity Kit, and a Shower Cap. This way, though, it’s much easier to use the Body Soap bar just for the shower, if you’d like, rather than awkwardly need to use it for both the shower AND your hands (which, we know it’s soap, so it IS clean, but…still). 8. We’ve got some great news for travelers who are heading to Disney World for the holiday season, but aren’t attending Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party (or, who are, but just want to see Mickey’s Once Upon A Christmastime Parade more than once). Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade Typically, the only way to see this iconic parade is during the after hours event, which is an additional ticket cost, but closer to Christmas Day, the parade becomes available during the day for guests to see! Now we know exactly when you can see the parade as a regular Magic Kingdom guest this holiday season. According to Disney World’s calendar, the Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade will be in Magic Kingdom on the following dates during the day: December 22nd: 12 PM and 3 PM December 23rd: 12 PM and 3 PM December 24th: 12 PM and 3 PM December 25th: 12 PM and 3 PM December 26th: 12 PM and 3 PM December 27th: 12 PM and 3 PM December 28th: 12 PM and 3 PM December 29th: 12 PM and 3 PM December 30th: 12 PM and 3 PM December 31st: 12 PM and 3 PM Hi Vanellope! This means there are NUMEROUS additional experiences to get to see this exclusive parade without paying for an additional after-hours ticket, which we love. It’s the same parade you’ll see during the party, but you may even be able to see more details than normal, since it’ll be daylight outside. The Reindeer! We highly recommend watching the parade from Main Street, U.S.A., if you can snag a spot, but anywhere along Frontierland is also a great choice, and may be slightly less crowded. 9. We’re thrilled that Disney’s newest hotel, Lakeshore Lodge, is still underway, because for a moment there, it didn’t look like it would ever happen! ©Disney This new hotel will be opening in 2027, and we’ve been keeping a close eye on construction updates. From what we’ve seen, the main hotel building is coming along well, but now we’ve gotten an updated look at the pool area, which includes a lazy river, and we’re ALREADY looking forward to relaxing. Thanks to our friend @bioreconstruct on Instagram, we’ve got a new look at the lazy river and pool area of the hotel. We can see so far that the pool and lazy river will be separate from each other, but they are just a few steps away from one another. It looks like two of the lazy river entrances will be right next to the pool area, making it simple to go from one to the other. @bioreconstruct on Instagram From another view of the construction, we can also see what looks like a zero-entry section of the pool area, which we have a feeling will be big with families. It looks like the lazy river needs a few more pieces to be fully complete (if it’s going to go in a full loop, that is), but the base of the pool appears to be pretty complete. @bioreconstruct on Instagram We’re really looking forward to this new hotel, which will be a Disney Vacation Club Resort hotel, though regular non-DVC guests should also be able to book stays as well, if this DVC resort follows along with what we’ve seen other DVC hotels on property do. This hotel was originally called Reflections — A Disney Lakeside Lodge Resort and was slated to open in 2022, but after the COVID-19 pandemic caused delays in 2020, construction was halted and picked up a few years later. The hotel is “inspired by the majesty of nature and its enduring influence on Disney artists,” which makes it very unique — we can’t wait to see it come to life! More Recent Hotel News! 10. This week was BIG in terms of news coming out of Disneyland Resort as well as Disney World this week, and trust us when we say you don’t want to miss a thing. ©Disney New themed hotel rooms have debuted, there’s an entire new Magic Key Pass on the way for Disneyland Resort, we found out beloved entertainment offerings are returning in 2026, and so much more. Let’s break it all down so you don’t miss a thing! Any chance we have to see what’s going on with construction in the parks is a huge deal, especially when it’s a project as massive as this one is! We love any update we can get about the new additions coming to the parks, because it helps us gauge construction progress, and may give us a clue on what Disney’s opening timeline could be. ©Disney If you want to read more about the construction update, you can check out our post below! Read more about this Tropical Americas construction update! As for Disneyland news, we’ve got a ton to go through, so strap in! Starting with hotel news, Disney just announced that a new Coco suite and a new The Incredibles suite are now available to book at Pixar Place Hotel! The Coco suite is absolutely stunning, with tons of nods to the film, including Miguel’s guitar, and lots of space to spread out. ©Disney As for The Incredibles suite, there’s a hand scanner outside the door (that won’t actually get you into the room, but hey, it’s a cool detail), and the living area is themed to the Parr House seen in the movies. The whole suite has a modern superhero vibe and is all themed to the films. You’ll even find photos of the family on the walls, as well as Bob and Helen’s wedding photo! ©Disney These suites are available RIGHT NOW, but we’ve got a feeling they’re going to book up quick. We suggest acting sooner rather than later! Read more about these new suites here! Disneyland Resort also revealed when some of their most popular entertainment offerings will be coming back following the holiday season! Wondrous Journeys and Mickey and Friends 70th outfits return on January 8th, The Celebrate Happy Cavalcade returns on January 9th, and the Paint the Night parade returns on January 30th, 2026. Paint the Night Parade While we love the park’s holiday offerings, don’t get us wrong, it’s great to know that these fan-favorite offerings will be returning in just a few short weeks, as it’ll help people plan their upcoming vacations for the new year. Learn more about when these offerings are returning! Finally, one of the biggest announcements this week was that a NEW Magic Key pass is replacing the Enchant Key Pass. The new key is called the Explore Key and will cost $999. It’ll become available on January 13th, 2026, and will include reservation-based Park Hopper admission with the ability to hold up to 4 theme park reservations at a time, up to 10% off select merchandise and dining, 25% off parking at the Toy Story Parking area, and 25% off the purchase of Lightning Lane Multi Pass. ©Disney The benefits of the new Explore Key are very similar to the Enchant Key, but it has the added perk of being able to go to the parks on weekdays in June and July. We have a feeling they’ll go fast, so you’ll want to be ready to purchase yours on January 13th. Learn more about the new Explore Key here! We’ll be sure to keep you updated on all the latest Disney news, both inside the parks and out, so stay tuned to DFB! 11. On board the Disney Cruise Line ships, you’ll find an ice cream/sweets shop, and most of them have a special signature sundae to grab that isn’t available on any other ship. The Signature Sundae at Edna Á La Mode Sweets On the Disney Destiny, that shop is Edna Á La Mode Sweets, which is themed to The Incredibles (more specifically, Edna’s lab with Jack-Jack trying to grab his cookie!), and has TONS of sweets to check out. The Signature Sundae here is cute as can be, but is it really worth the price? We tried it out so you can know before you get on board! What flavors would you get in this sundae? 12. When it comes to dining at Disneyland, you’ve got a TON of options. Want something quick and easy? You’ve got it. Something middle-of-the-road and comforting? Yep, that too. And if you’re looking for something upscale and luxurious, you can find that as well. Rancho del Zocalo We recently stopped by Rancho del Zocalo Restaurante at Disneyland Park to see what was cookin’, and now we’re bringing you our FULL review. Is it worth a stop on your next trip to the Happiest Place on Earth? Find out here! Atmosphere Welcome to Rancho del Zocalo! Take your taste buds to a new frontier where Mexican classics are served up ‘caliente’ right in the heart of Disneyland’s famed Frontierland. Rancho del Zocalo But enough about the restaurant — what’s on the menu here?! Menu Authentic Mexican dishes featured on the menu include burritos, enchiladas, nachos, street tacos, and more. But this is also a terrific location to check for seasonal offerings — just check out any of our reviews below to learn more! ©Disney Fresh and flavorful food, generous portions, and a beautiful setting with outdoor seating put Racho del Zocalo at the top of the list of our favorite counter service spots in Disneyland. ©Disney And now, onto the main event — the food! Eats We couldn’t help but order the Carne Asada Fries for $14.49. These are Fries topped with Spicy Cheese Sauce, Beans, Avocado Salsa, Carne Asada, and Chipotle-Lime Crema. Carne Asada Fries Despite what the menu said, our fries were garnished with spicy peppers instead of onions and cilantro, which we didn’t mind at all! Onions and cilantro would have been nice, but the peppers added a nice kick to the dish. We LOVE the type of twisty steak fries they use on these because they hold up to all the toppings! The avocado sauce was seasoned wonderfully with a hint of tanginess, and it tasted fresh. The spicy cheese had a subtle (very subtle) kick that was mostly just nice flavor — although some heat did linger. The carne asada was tender but kind of plain; we would have liked to see more seasoning on the meat itself. Overall, we will definitely be getting these fries again! SO good For dessert, we picked up the Mickey-shaped Pumpkin Salted Dulce Cream Puff for $8.79. This is a seasonal treat filled with Pumpkin Mousse and Salted Dulce de Leche. Pumpkin Salted Dulce Cream Puff We hope you like pumpkin, because this was incredibly pumpkin-forward. Since this was a seasonal treat, it’s no longer available, but it was a pretty big hit with our reporter, who doesn’t even particularly like pumpkin. The inside was creamy with that pumpkin spice, and the outside of the puff was moist and chewy; not dry at all. Solid dessert Of course, we had to pick up a drink to wash it all down, too. Drinks To drink, we grabbed the Hibiscus-Pomegranate Cooler for $7.29. This is a Spiced Hibiscus Tea with Pomegranate, Orange Juice, and Honey. Hibiscus Pomegranate Cooler A lot was going on with this drink! The spiced tea was the most prominent flavor, so if you don’t like that sort of spice in your drinks, you can skip this one. We tasted the pomegranate and orange juices, but they were more subtle and added just a hint of sourness. The honey helps counteract some of the sourness, lending itself to a well-balanced drink. A solid drink So, is Rancho del Zocalo worth a stop the next time you’re at Disneyland? Nosh or Not This Disney World restaurant is a must-visit if… You’re craving Mexican eats while spending time at Disneyland. You want a quick bite to eat so you can get back to riding rides! You’re looking for a reliable spot with familiar flavors. You should skip this Disney World spot if… You want a full, sit-down dining experience. You’re not in the mood for Mexican food. You’re not planning on spending time at Disneyland Park. Overall There’s a reason this is one of our favorite quick-service restaurants at Disneyland! The food here is excellent, though it’s similar to what you can get at your local Mexican joint. But sometimes, when you’re walking around a crowded theme park, all you want is something familiar. We will be thinking about the carne asada fries for a while (and will be going back to get them ASAP)! Full spread from Rancho del Zocalo In the meantime, we’ll be on the lookout for more restaurant updates from Disney World and beyond. 13. When you think of Orlando theme parks celebrating the holiday season, you likely think of Universal Orlando and Disney World, but we’re here to tell you that you can’t leave out Legoland Florida! Legoland is ready to celebrate! We were invited to check out all that Legoland has to offer for the holidays, and we gotta say, you won’t be disappointed! Between specially themed holiday snacks, entertainment, meet and greets, and more, there’s so much you won’t want to miss out on. Legoland Florida invited us to check out their offerings for the holiday season, and the fun started right when we walked up with these fun decorations, all made out of LEGOs. Decorations made out of LEGOs! Also near the front was a LEGO Santa, sleigh, and reindeer, where you could take photos. Talk about adorable! Such a cute photo op! This is also where we spotted the LEGO holiday tree, which would have its official tree lighting by the end of the night. The tree! We also passed by a LEGO person dressed as a reindeer, who was surrounded by brightly dressed elves! They were super energetic and fun, and we loved that you could grab a quick picture with them, if you wanted. Look how fun! Overall, the decorations around the park were wonderful — we couldn’t get over how cute it all was. We can’t get enough! Then it was time for some special treats, so we stopped by Legoland Coffee Co. for two of their holiday offerings. To drink, we tried the Let It Snow-Coa for $15.29, which comes in a reusable cup! Let It Snow-Coa We could not get over how ADORABLE the snowman on the top was! He was made of marshmallow, pretzel sticks, a Oreo, sour belt scarf, and candy details. He’s really the reason you’re likely grabbing this treat — for the sole photogenic nature of him, as well as the fact that you get to keep the cup. SO cute While the drink itself was just standard powdered hot chocolate mix, thinner and less chocolatey than the Nestlé cocoa we’ve had at Isle of Java in Disney World, it’s topped with a thick marshmallow cream that split the difference between whipped cream and frosting, and was absolutely delicious. Mixing that into the rest of the drink is the way to go, in our opinion! We loved this We also grabbed the Peppermint Cheesecake Pop for $10.49. Peppermint Cheesecake Pop This is a rich, plain cheesecake slice coated in a thick shell of white and milk chocolate. The outer layer has that hard candy texture that makes it sweet, glossy, and a little separate from the cheesecake itself, but still tastes great together. The light sprinkle of crushed peppermint adds crunch and just enough flavor without overpowering the chocolate or the cheesecake, so consider us a fan! Also very cute! Once we were fueled up on sugar, we headed over to do some of the meet and greets available for the holiday season. We started with LEGO Santa with his LEGO North Pole backdrop and sleigh… It’s LEGO Santa! …then headed over to meet the LEGO Gingerbread Man. His backdrop was just a photo of what looked like a LEGO gingerbread house, but we still loved the look. LEGO Gingerbread Man Finally, we didn’t get to meet the LEGO Snowman, but did get to see him perform with his friends in a high-energy show! Don’t discount the live entertainment offerings here, that’s for sure. LEGO Snowman performing with his friends! Finally, it was time for the tree lighting, which is also where Legoland revealed that the opening date of their new ride, Galacticoaster, will be February 27th, 2026! They didn’t just say it, though — they brought out some new friends from the ride, and announced the date with a drone show. Tree lighting and a drone show? Yes, please! It was a great way to close out the night, and we had a great time! We think this is a great option for families who have younger kiddos who are more into LEGOs than say Disney or Universal IP, or maybe you all want a slightly smaller park to explore that isn’t as overwhelming. Or, if you’ve experienced Disney and Universal’s holiday offerings and want something a little different, we think this is lots of fun for all ages. More Recent Legoland News! 14. For nearly 60 years, the Haunted Mansion has been one of Disney’s most iconic attractions. However, as the ride’s popularity has grown, many fans have begun to wish that some new modern rules could be implemented on the legendary ride. “And now, a carriage approaches to take you into the boundless realm of the supernatural.Take your loved ones by the hand, please, and kindly watch your step. “ In the 30+ years I’ve been riding Disney World’s Haunted Mansion, I — like millions of other guests — have fallen in love with the ride’s ambiance and environment, which is a key to its success. Perhaps unsurprisingly, the majority of these “rules” all revolve around maintaining said ambiance. No Loud Repeating in the Stretching Room… or Anywhere Else Look, we’re all big fans of the attraction and the narration of the Ghost Host, which provides the perfect mixture of macabre foreboding and dark comedy that complements the ride’s unique tone. However, please leave the narrating to the Ghost Host. No one, especially first-time riders, wants to hear your “pitch-perfect” rendition of the stretching room spiel or attic narration. Don’t talk here!!! No Lightning for Photos or Video While taking photos and videos on the slow-moving Haunted Mansion shouldn’t be an issue, please be cognizant of riders around you. Don’t take flash photos or use bright lighting for your videos, as they’ll break the illusion of the ride (they’re called dark rides for a reason) for other guests. The Hat Box Ghost No Scrolling Phones Beyond flash photos, even just the lights from scrolling through your phone can break the illusion of the attraction for those around you. Trust us, whatever you’re looking at can wait until you’re out of the attraction. Doom Buggies Your Loved One Isn’t Going to be the 1,000th Resident This one shouldn’t have to be said, but please, don’t bring anyone’s ashes to spread on the attraction. It’s unsanitary, you will get caught, and the ride will end up being shut down for cleaning. Please, find an appropriate way to honor your Disney-fan loved one. 13 Minutes! The Haunted Mansion remains one of Disney’s most popular rides, and some fans really wish some new “rules” could be implemented to keep it that way. 15. If you often find yourself struggling to decide between watching a Disney holiday film or a Hallmark holiday film, next year, you’ll be able to put on a movie that encapsulates them BOTH! ©Disney That’s right! A major announcement was just made that confirms that, for the first time ever, Disney World and Hallmark are teaming up to bring us a brand new film. Here’s everything we know about it so far! The romance film stars Lacey Chabert, Travis Van Winkle, Richard Kind, Christy Carlson Romano, Bryce Dufee, Taegen Burns, and Asher Alexander, with Patrick Renna in a cameo role, and is written and directed by Ryan Landels. The film will follow Lindsey (played by Chabert) and her extended family as they head to Walt Disney World to spend a magical Christmas together. However, the dream of a perfect holiday goes down the drain when Lindsey discovers her room is next door to Philip (Van Winkle), the disastrous first date she had recently, who is also there on a family trip. As Lindsey and Philip’s paths cross throughout their vacations, “the frost starts to thaw as they learn they’re not so different from each other after all. Thanks to the magic of Walt Disney World, the holiday wish Lindsey made in the Cinderella fountain just might turn their rivalry into romance.” Hollywood Studios When talking about the partnership history between Disney and Hallmark, Darren Abbott, the Chief Brand Officer for Hallmark, said that “it dates back decades, when a shared Kansas City connection and friendship between Hallmark’s founder, J.C. Hall, and Walt Disney himself led to our first-ever licensed products, including the very first greeting card featuring Mickey Mouse.” Christmas Tree at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge Reading the logline, it’s very possible that filming could take place around Disney World’s resorts, Disney Springs, and other locations, but as filming schedules aren’t released to the public, we have no way of knowing for sure. It’s also very possible (but not confirmed) that filming will mostly take place while the resort’s Christmas decorations are up. Does this mean we may see the decorations stick around a little longer if filming requires it? We’ll have to wait and see. EPCOT Christmas Tree When talking about the upcoming film, Sally Conner, VP Global Content, said, “We’re thrilled that Walt Disney World will serve as the immersive setting for a Hallmark holiday movie highlighting the cheerful festivities of the season.  Across our theme parks, resorts, and beyond, countless unique stories unfold, and new memories are made every day with our guests. This film is a wonderful way to share that joy and pixie dust with fans everywhere.” Contemporary Resort Gingerbread Display 2025 We’ll be sure to keep an eye out in the parks for filming taking place, and if you’re visiting during the holiday season, we encourage you to keep your eyes peeled, too! 16. I’ve been going to Disney Parks my whole life. While I’m now a proud Orlando local and enjoy going to Disney World every chance I get, I grew up as a West Coast girl with Disneyland near and dear to my heart. It’s Christmas time in Magic Kingdom! If you’ve ever been to Disneyland or are planning a trip, you might have noticed something on the packing list you might not see for Disney World — warm clothes!. I’m begging you (BEGGING YOU) to add it to your Disney World packing list. You’re about to argue with me about how different the weather is and how hot Florida is, but let me tell you my story of a night filled with regrets, starting right on my way to Magic Kingdom. DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission. When I moved to Florida, it was in the middle of summer, and it was HOT. Being from Las Vegas, Nevada, I’m totally used to the heat, but the humidity kicked my butt. Whenever I would tell someone I’m moving to Florida, they all just said it was hot, which, well, it is. It’s more than just hot through. Just feel the heat in this photo I was heading to Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party to check out some new snacks (which you should totally check out by the way), and the minute I got onto the ferryboat, I knew I was in trouble. This was in November, when Florida was having a random cold spell, and while I was wearing pants and a jacket, I realized they weren’t going to be enough. It was only 5 PM, and after checking the weather (which didn’t look that cold, by the way), I needed to grab a new jacket and pants pronto. On the ferryboat Into the Emporium, which is your magical spot for almost everything you’ll need at Disney World, from family favorite souvenirs to extra t-shirts when you spill Casey’s Corner cheese on yourself (uh, no, I’m not speaking from experience), and baseball hats when that Florida sunshine is sunshining a little too much. It’s also home to sweatshirts and sweatpants! Sweatshirts! If you’re walking around and notice everyone’s wearing the exact same sweatshirt, more often than not, they probably forgot that Florida can get chilly and needed to buy a sweatshirt. Between you and me, sometimes I purposely “forget” my jacket so I can buy a new one, and I had the exact same intent during my Very Merry Christmas Party. The Emporium In the Emporium, I find a sweatshirt in my size, easy peasy. There were so many options, I actually enjoyed finding one I’ll wear forever. Next, I headed to the pants, and uh, we did not have the same luck. There were a few types of sweatpants, but all the common sizes were already sold out, with everyone having the same idea. Please! Where are the pants! Of course, sweatshirts can sell out too, which has happened to me if I wait too late in the night to buy an extra layer (aka don’t want till you’ve claimed your spot to watch Happily Ever After in front of the castle), but there are enough stores across Magic Kingdom that you can usually find a jacket if you search hard enough. Crowds waiting for Happily Ever After Pants? No go. The Emporium and maybe Star Traders will be your best bet for sweatpants, but when I checked, I couldn’t find anything. This isn’t the first time I’ve had this problem either. Star Traders After a massive rainstorm started in Animal Kingdom and soaked through shorts, I was desperate for a new pair of bottoms and could not find a single thing that would either fit me, match my outfit, or didn’t cost an insane amount to wear once. I ended up in wet shorts the rest of the day (and I use a wheelchair, so I promise they won’t “dry in the sun” like we tell ourselves when we don’t want to admit we’ll be in wet shorts all day) and now keep an extra pair of running shorts in my backpack. But pants? Nope, not on my list. Rainy Day at Animal Kingdom My word of advice: pack pants. Yes, bring a raincoat and sweatshirts or jackets, too, but you’ll likely be able to grab those in the park if you forget. Pants and shorts are a lot harder, especially because an oversized sweatshirt might be fun, but oversized pants involve pulling up your bottoms all day, which doesn’t sound fun. You might just be wearing pajama pants all night I know it can make your backpack bulkier and harder to carry, which is annoying, but you’ll be thanking yourself later when you don’t have to shell out a ton of money to buy them, or be sad when you can’t buy them at all. When my family went to Disneyland, which is known for getting chilly at night due to the gorgeous California weather, we would bring an extra backpack and keep our jackets in there, which we would store in a locker throughout the day. When it got colder, we would go back and grab them, and we were set for the day. Lockers A jacket isn’t a bad thing to keep on you during the summer in Florida, either. It will be far too hot to wear it outside, but Disney World loves to crank up the air conditioning for you inside restaurants. During a visit in May, I started shivering in Sci-Fi Dine-In in Hollywood Studios and shed a tear while drinking my milkshake. This place is SO DANG cold Florida weather is also unpredictable. My Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party in November was freezing, but two days earlier, when my coworkers were there, it was shorts and tank top weather. Now, as I write this a few weeks after my Christmas party, it’s back being hot, and I spent the morning back in shorts. Bringing layers is always a good idea, and if you’re someone who gets chilly when they get wet from the rain, it’s not a bad idea to have some backup clothes, either. Layers! If you don’t want to bring a whole bulky pair of sweatpants, I love fleece-lined leggings, and after the party, these have stayed in my backpack. ©Amazon I can easily put them on under my jeans or other pants, so I don’t have to ruin my entire outfit. Grab it here! Here’s another option that would look super cute with a sweatshirt. ©Amazon These have a flare bottom, which I think adds a little something to the outfit. Grab it here! For men, we have fleece-lined pants! ©Amazon There are even zippered pockets, which is something my Dad swears by. Grab it here! For a sweatshirt option, you can throw this princess pullover in your backpack. ©Amazon It’s currently on sale, and this will save you a lot of money in the parks. Grab it here! I love this Mickey & Co. sweatshirt, too. It has the whole gang on it! ©Amazon It’s only $30, and I have definitely spent far more than $30 on a sweatshirt in the parks, like way over $30. Grab it here! This Mickey Mouse hoodie is fun! ©Amazon That hood will give you a little extra warmth while riding Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, and it features Mickey, so it matches all the different parks. Grab it here! If there’s one thing I leave you with, please pack some extra pants! Pretty please. As a Disney World local, I’ve seen it all, and Orlando can get a lot colder than you’re expecting. I’m not saying y’all from the north will need your winter parkas, but throwing in an extra sweatshirt can never hurt. 17. Someone new has arrived in Disney California Adventure over at Disneyland Resort, and we could NOT be more excited. It’s Clawhauser! With the release of Zootopia 2 in theaters, there’s a lot of fun you can have around the Disney Parks that are inspired by the world of Zootopia. In Disney World, you can meet Judy and Nick, check out the new Zootopia: Better Zoogether show, and eat some Zootopia-inspired snacks all in Animal Kingdom, and over in DCA, you can meet another iconic character — Clawhauser! Clawhauser is meeting guests over in Hollywood Land in Disney California Adventure, and what struck us first was how detailed his meet and greet spot is! Clawhauser’s meet and greet spot In the background of his meet and greet, you’ll find a sign that says “Welcome to The Jewel of Zootopia Marsh Market” with Gary De’Snake wrapped around one of the legs, a Chili Dog stand. It’s Gary! To the left is the storefront of Oh Shucks! Oyster Bar. If you’ve seen the new film, you know why all these spots are significant! We love all the details and really feel it brings this meet and greet spot to life. So many details! A few minutes later, it was time to meet the cuddly police officer! Clawhauser looked amazing in his uniform, and he honestly looked like he jumped RIGHT out of the movie — it’s really quite impressive. It’s Clawhauser! You’ll also be able to meet Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde in this same spot, and they meet together while Clawhauser meets alone. To catch them, it’s best to check the Disneyland App for the most updated meet and greet times. More Recent Disneyland Resort News! 18. Yesterday was a BIG day for Legoland Florida, and it wasn’t only because they had their holiday tree lighting ceremony! A big announcement was made last night! We were so thrilled to be invited to the Tree Lighting Ceremony, which was beautiful and wonderful in itself, but imagine our surprise when Legoland had another surprise for us — an opening date reveal for their new attraction in the form of a drone show! It was just revealed by Legoland itself that the new Galacticoaster will be coming to the resort on February 27th, 2026! Legoland Florida revealed the news with a few impressive drone show at the holiday tree lighting, along with the appearance of some outer space friends. Look who arrived to help announce the news! Before we left for the night, we also got a little token that reminded us of the attraction’s opening date, which makes it even easier to add it to our calendar — we can’t wait to check it out! Our reminder token! This space-themed coaster will reach up to 40 mph, will feature ride vehicles that seat four passengers in one row, and has a new character named Space Creature! According to Rob Smith, the chief operating officer of Legoland Merlin Entertainments Group, the ride will also feature customization elements. He also noted that, “you get on board your spacecraft, and as you get ready for takeoff, your spacecraft, with you sitting in it, is projected onto technology screens before you launch into space.” ©Legoland He went on to explain that there are more than 620 combinations of decorative vehicle elements, including nose, wing, and tail color, which means every ride could be different! He continued on to say, “It’s not just about Lego play. It’s about Lego imagination. Merlin is always finding new ways to make every visit unique.” More Recent Legoland News! 19. Big news from Hallmark and The Most Magical Place On Earth – and yes, it’s as magical as you think. In 2026, Hallmark Channel and Walt Disney World are teaming up to debut an all-new, original holiday movie called Holiday Ever After: A Disney World Wish Come True. Starring Lacey Chabert, Travis Van Winkle, Richard Kind, Christy Carlson Romano, Bryce Dufee, Taegen Burns, and Asher Alexander, with Patrick Renna in a cameo role, this soon-to-be classic romance is set to premiere during Hallmark Channel’s 17th annual Countdown to Christmas programming event next year and will shoot on location at Walt Disney World in Florida. Ryan Landels has written the script and is set to direct. In between your yearly December sips of warm hot chocolate and waves of joyous Christmas caroling, the new film will surround you in the typical holiday spirit that you’ve come to savor over the years. In fact, this collaboration between the Hallmark Channel and Walt Disney World marks the first time ever that these holiday powerhouses will team up for a new, original movie. “The partnership between Hallmark and Disney dates back decades, when a shared Kansas City connection and friendship between Hallmark’s founder, J.C. Hall, and Walt Disney himself led to our first-ever licensed products, including the very first greeting card featuring Mickey Mouse,” said Darren Abbott, Chief Brand Officer, Hallmark. “We’re thrilled to expand our relationship beyond the products we create together and onto the screen with this heartwarming and joyful Christmas movie that embodies the very best of both brands.” Following a special appearance from Chabert direct from Magic Kingdom Park during Hallmark Channel’s broadcast of The Hallmark Christmas Experience: A Hometown Holiday, the new film is officially set to debut next year. With this, we learned that the new film will be shooting on location at Walt Disney World during production, marking an exciting moment as the resort prepares to welcome the crew to The Most Magical Place On Earth. “Storytelling is at the heart of both Disney and Hallmark, and that magic shines even brighter during the holidays,” said Sally Conner, VP Global Content.  “We’re thrilled that Walt Disney World will serve as the immersive setting for a Hallmark holiday movie highlighting the cheerful festivities of the season.  Across our theme parks, resorts, and beyond, countless unique stories unfold and new memories are made every day with our guests. This film is a wonderful way to share that joy and pixie dust with fans everywhere.” With more details on the way, stay tuned to the Disney Parks Blog for live production updates of the film. Learn More About the Film In the film, Lindsey (Chabert) and her extended family head to Walt Disney World to spend a magical Christmas together. But the dream of a jolly holiday gets dashed when Lindsey discovers her room is next door to Philip (Van Winkle), a disastrous first date she recently had, who’s also there on a family trip. As Lindsey and Philip’s paths cross throughout their stay, the frost starts to thaw as they learn they’re not so different from each other after all. Thanks to the magic of Walt Disney World, the holiday wish Lindsey made in Cinderella fountain just might turn their rivalry into romance. Stay Tuned for Co-Branded Holiday Products Dropping Next Holiday Season Festive Hallmark products always come to mind when the holiday season rolls around and next year, you’ll be able to experience the magic with a collection of Disney and Hallmark products inspired by the film. Featuring greeting cards, ornaments, gifts, gift wrap, and other unique offerings, the collection will be available next holiday season at select Hallmark Gold Crown stores, Hallmark.com, and other retailers to be announced soon. This exciting collaboration will be one for the record books, so make sure to stay tuned to the Disney Parks Blog for future updates. While we can’t wait to experience the joy of the holiday season this year at Walt Disney World, be sure to get ready for this milestone moment by tuning into the Hallmark Channel in the meantime for all the holiday hits on a TV screen near you! 21. It’s the most magical time of the year at Disney World! Snoap is falling, Christmas trees are up, and lights are twinkling. There is something super special about Disney World during the holidays, but finding out your favorite attraction or experience is closed is anything but magical. There are quite a few closures happening in Disney World, and we don’t want you to be surprised. Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin We are here to keep you up to date on the latest closures, so you won’t be disappointed as you head towards your favorite attraction. (I guess instead, we will disappoint you ahead of time. Better than at Disney World, though, right?) We are rounding up everything that is closed in Disney World this week so you can be prepared! Let’s take a look at the attractions and locations that will be closed this week, from December 6th through December 13th, at Disney World. Magic Kingdom Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin A popular Tomorrowland attraction is closed! Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin has been closed for refurbishment since August 4th, 2025, and isn’t expected to reopen until spring 2026. While the ride is closed, it will be getting some upgrades! Closed for Refurbishment Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin will be getting a new ride scene, new ride vehicles, a new character, and enhanced gameplay elements. Some of those gameplay elements include handheld blasters (soon you can shoot whenever you want!) and reactive targets. We got the chance to take a look at the new ride vehicle and test out the new blasters, and we have to say we were impressed! Liberty Square Riverboat and Tom Sawyer Island An iconic part of the Magic Kingdom is now permanently closed. As of July 7th, the Rivers of America, including the Liberty Square River Boat and Tom Sawyer Island, are permanently closed to make way for the new Cars area, Piston Peak National Park. There are lots of construction walls up in the area now, and the structures on Tom Sawyer Island have been demolished. The river has also been drained! A peek at the construction! Piston Peak National Park will be replacing this area of Magic Kingdom. Disney has not yet announced an opening date for the new Cars area, but we do know it will feature two brand-new attractions and be themed to look like a National Park. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad On January 6th, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad closed for an extended temporary closure. The “Wildest Ride in the Wilderness” will be closed for at least a year and will reopen sometime in spring 2026. The ride will be undergoing maintenance while it is closed. When it reopens, it will have some “new magic,” according to Disney. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad Disney announced some of the new magic! Riders will see “spectacular natural caverns full of phosphorescent pools, shimmering and illuminating iridescent stalagmites (the ones on the floor) and stalactites (the ones on the ceiling)” — the Rainbow Caverns! We can’t wait to see what other changes might be coming to this ever-popular roller coaster! We have spotted some ride testing happening, which was very exciting. I Never Thought I’d Skip Magic Kingdom During My Disney World Trip, but Here We Are Disney’s Animal Kingdom Harambe Market — Disney’s Animal Kingdom Harambe Market, a quick-service dining location in Animal Kingdom, has temporarily closed as of October 20th, 2025. It will be closed for a few months, and it is currently expected to reopen in early 2026. While we are sad to see the dining options decrease in Animal Kingdom, there are still lots of delicious options! Harambe Market You can stop by Flame Tree Barbecue or Satu’li Canteen for a tasty, quick-service meal. We aren’t expecting huge changes at Harambe Market during the refurbishment, but we will keep you updated as we learn more! Kali River Rapids Kali River Rapids is about to close for refurbishment! This water adventure has temporarily closed as of October 6th, and it is expected to reopen in December 2025. We aren’t expecting any huge changes to the ride, just some maintenance and general refurbishment. Kali River Rapids We commonly see Kali River Rapids closed during the cooler months for refurbishment. Splashing through a water ride just isn’t the same when it is cooler outside, so we can see why Disney chose the fall or winter months to do some maintenance on this attraction. TriceraTop Spin, Chester & Hester’s Dinosaur Treasures, Fossil Fun Games, The Boneyard, Dino Bite Snacks, and Trilo-Bites The first round of closures began in DinoLand U.S.A. on January 13th, 2025. TriceraTop Spin, Chester & Hester’s Dinosaur Treasures, and Fossil Fun Game were closed down, and construction has begun on the brand-new land themed to the Tropical Americas, Pueblo Esperanza. The Boneyard has permanently closed as of September 2nd. Dino Bite Snacks and Trilo-Bites are also permanently closed as of October 20th, 2025. Pueblo Esperanza Construction It is definitely a sad sight, but we are also excited to see Pueblo Esperanza! DINOSAUR and Restaurantosaurus are still open, but Disney has announced the rest of DinoLand, U.S.A. will be closing for good on February 2nd, 2026. The $28 Bag That Everyone Is Suddenly Bringing to Disney World Disney’s Hollywood Studios Vacation Fun – An Original Animated Short with Mickey & Minnie — Disney’s Hollywood Studios Vacation Fun – An Original Animated Short with Mickey & Minnie is temporarily closed as of October 20th, 2025, in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The good news is that it is just a temporary closure, and it is expected to reopen later this year! Vacation Fun Vacation Fun is joining an already lengthy list of closures in Hollywood Studios, including Animation Courtyard and Muppets Courtyard. There is still plenty to do in Hollywood Studios, but be prepared for a fair amount of construction happening! Animation Courtyard Animation Courtyard closed on September 25th, 2025, to make way for Walt Disney Studios. This new area is expected to open in summer 2026 and will be a special nod to the Walt Disney Studios lot. Star Wars Launch Bay will be turned into The Magic of Disney Animation. This attraction will have you interacting and exploring with this fun take on Disney Animation headquarters. Construction walls around Animation Courtyard This area will also feature a new Drawn to Wonderland indoor play area and the current Disney Jr. Play and Dance! show will be getting a makeover. During the transformation, you will still be able to visit “The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure” and Walt Disney Presents. Muppets Courtyard, including Muppet*Vision 3D, PizzeRizzo, and Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano Muppet*Vision 3D AND PizzeRizzo closed on June 8th, and Muppets Courtyard has been walled off so construction can begin on the new Monsters, Inc. land. Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano has been closed since May 11th. Recently, the Muppet*Vision 3D sign was officially taken down! Farewell Muppet*Vision Sign Don’t worry, the Muppets won’t be missing from Disney’s Hollywood Studios forever. The Muppets will eventually be taking over Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster in 2026. UPDATE on Disney Jr. Show Coming to Hollywood Studios Blizzard Beach Blizzard Beach has been closed since September 8th, 2025! While it has been wonderful having BOTH Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon open at the same time this summer (which was the first time this has happened in YEARS), that has now come to an end. Blizzard Beach is now closed for refurbishment. Blizzard Beach Have no fear, though, if you are looking for somewhere to cool off and enjoy some fun in the water, Typhoon Lagoon will still be open! Although keep an eye on the weather, as Typhoon Lagoon will close when the temperatures become colder. REVIEWS: What to Eat (And What to AVOID) at Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park Disney World Hotels Promenade Fine Art Gallery — Disney’s BoardWalk Inn and Resort The Promenade Fine Art Gallery will be closing its Disney’s BoardWalk location on October 20th, 2025. However, the Promenade Fine Art Gallery isn’t closing for good, and it will just be moving to a new location. Promenade Fine Art Gallery The gallery hasn’t announced yet where that new location will be, but we will keep you updated as we learn more! The Paddock Pool, Aquatic Play Area, and The Paddock Grill — Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort The Paddock Pool, the aquatic play area, and The Paddock Grill will be closed from October 13th, 2025, until early December for routine maintenance. Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort As we enter the cooler months, we are seeing more hotel pools undergoing routine maintenance. It is all an important part in making sure the Walt Disney World Resort is looking its best. Jellyrolls — Disney’s BoardWalk Jellyrolls at Disney’s BoardWalk officially closed on April 19th, 2025. This entertainment venue has provided our team with countless memories, and we know many others are also sad to see it close. Jellyrolls had its final farewell performance on April 19th and closed its doors forever on Disney’s BoardWalk. Jellyrolls However, this isn’t the end for Jellyrolls, as the bar has said they are “making a move.” We don’t know many details about that move yet, but we will keep you updated.
