This holiday season, The Walt Disney Company is inspiring fans and families everywhere to “Make Someone’s Holiday Magic,” complete with a Disney Holiday Magic Tour that includes Stitch going on a mission to get off Santa’s naughty list by helping deliver toys and smiles around the world. You can follow along on his global journey at Disney.com/HolidayMagic. As part of that effort, Disney Consumer Products (DCP) is spreading holiday cheer across all 50 states, combining the magic of Disney with the power of giving. Through immersive experiences and meaningful donations — in collaboration with leading nonprofits and supported by top toy companies, licensees and retailers — DCP is creating moments of joy that make the season brighter for children and families nationwide. These efforts build on Disney’s rich legacy of supporting communities that could use some extra holiday cheer. “We create happiness every day at Disney Consumer Products, and our purpose becomes even more meaningful during the holidays when we focus on the families who need it most,” said Paul Gitter, EVP, Global Brand Commercialization, Disney Consumer Products. “This year, we are honored to bring Disney holiday magic to communities across the country, giving parents the ability to choose gifts for their children and create lifelong memories.” Delivering Toys and Joy in Detroit On Dec. 6, Disney unleashed holiday magic in Detroit — one of America’s cities most affected by child poverty — by inviting more than 120 local families to an immersive, first-of-its-kind event. Disney collaborated with the Marine Toys for Tots program to identify families in need, and Detroit-area Marines served as volunteers throughout the event. “It’s just a godsend that this gets put on for families like us, that are struggling. We’ve had a wonderful time here. The smiles on [the kids’] faces made my day,” said Michael Dunigan, a local parent who attended the event. “Without you guys, there would be a lot of families without Christmas.” Licensee and Retailer Collaborations Add Extra Magic DCP leveraged its strength as the world’s largest licensor to bring together top brands and maximize impact, transforming the event into an unforgettable experience. Parents “shopped” for the gifts their children most wanted, choosing from toys like Pixar, Disney’s Frozen and Disney Princess-inspired offerings from Mattel, Disney Squishmallows from Jazwares, top toys from Disney Store and more. Additional toys and products were provided to families at no cost by Hasbro, JAKKS Pacific, Just Play, Ravensburger, BRIO and more — plus festive Disney-themed pajamas from Old Navy and books from Disney Publishing and Random House Children’s Books. Families enjoyed experiences including: Mattel interactive play areas, where kids stepped into a world of imagination with hands-on play featuring Disney’s Frozen and Pixar’s Cars, creating their own magical moments with new Mattel toys. Jazwares’ Disney Squishmallows zone, featuring claw machines filled with adorable Disney Squishmallows clips for children to win and take home, plus an oversized Stitch plush throne perfect for holiday-ready photo ops. A cozy lounge, complete with décor, furniture and holiday plate decorating provided by IKEA, as well as books. Marvel and Star WarsTM-themed play zones featuring toys inspired by fan-favorite characters, including buildable play sets, remote control droids and more. The event was also supported by The District Detroit and Enhance A Colour. Stitch’s Global Tour Stops in Motor City Stitch kicked off the celebration in Detroit as part of the Disney Holiday Magic Tour and his mission to get off Santa’s “naughty list” by helping deliver toys and smiles around the world. Before heading to the next stop on his adventure, the mischievous-yet-lovable blue alien enjoyed special meet-and-greets with families, celebrating the joy of giving and the powerful connection that countless people share with Disney during this special time of year. Disney Ultimate Toy Drive: Millions of Toys and Counting The festive event in Detroit continues Disney’s nearly 80-year association with Toys for Tots, adding to the millions of toys already donated to children in need through the Disney Ultimate Toy Drive. The collaboration began in 1948, when Walt Disney and his studio artists created designs that would help drive awareness of the campaign. They would even design the original Toys for Tots train logo that is still used today. “Each holiday season, Disney plays a pivotal role in bringing joy into the lives of American families, collecting and donating toys that serve as tangible signs of hope. This event is a wonderful evolution of our longstanding relationship, showcasing how together we’ve grown our impact year after year. By combining Disney’s creativity with our mission, we’re able to bring joy to countless children — making this season truly magical for those who need it most,” said Gunnar Spafford, Retired Maj, U.S. Marine Corp, Deputy Vice President, Business Development, Marine Toys for Tots Foundation. Fans can join the Disney Ultimate Toy Drive by donating a toy now through Dec. 24 at DisneyStore.com/ToyDrive, or in person at Disney Stores, the Disneyland Resort or Walt Disney World Resort now through Dec. 14, 2025. Disney Store Suprises Families Across All 50 States As part of its nationwide efforts, DCP also collaborated with Good360 to gift more than 100 families in need — across all 50 states and Washington D.C. — with Disney Store shopping sprees. Through surprise deliveries featuring Disney Store holiday products and gift cards, parents had the unique opportunity to select new toys for their children, creating unforgettable moments. Two of these families came to Disney Store Times Square for a magical shopping spree experience. “This is something very beautiful. I’m usually the one giving, so for this to happen to me, this really means a lot,” said Migdalia Del Moral, a mother of four and recipient of a surprise shopping spree at Disney Store Times Square. “When do you get to go to a store and let your kids pick out whatever they want? As long as they’re happy, I’m happy. And they look really happy right now.” For Jewel Martindale the shopping spree was a chance to create joyful memories with her children. She shared that one highlight was a heartfelt moment with her son, a huge Spider-Man fan who is nonverbal and on the autism spectrum. “The first thing he chose was Spider-Man. That was really sentimental to me, because even though he cannot talk, he can identify, and he knows what he wants,” she reflected. Disney Consumer Products is proud to help brighten the holidays for families in need and inspire people everywhere to make someone’s holiday magic. Churros. Mickey ears. Pin trading. There are so many parts that go into a Disneyland day that every day of your vacation might feel like a HUGE milestone. Personally, my favorite part of any Disneyland day has to be the rides. I’m ready to climb into Pirates of the Caribbean and prepare for that ride photo. Disney California Adventure If you’re heading to Disneyland in January, you might have your list of attractions you need to ride. Well, you might want to reevaluate that list. Some rides are going down for refurbishments, but don’t worry, we have all the details here! First up, Inside Out Emotional Whirlwind will be closing on January 5th, according to the Disneyland calendar, with no current reopening date. Inside Out Emotional Whirlwind This attraction is generally not the most unique ride you’ve ever been on, and you can find other similar spinning rides like Dumbo the Flying Elephant. It is located right on Pixar Pier in Disney California Adventure and has super cute theming, but we don’t think this is going to put too much of a damper on your trip. Inside Out Emotional Whirlwind Grizzly River Run will also be going down on January 5th in Disney California Adventure. Grizzly River Run This water raft ride can get you WET, so it’s probably not your top ride to hop on in January. There’s also no reopening date for this attraction, but when it does, make sure you grab your rain poncho before climbing in. Looking for another water ride option? Check out Tiana’s Bayou Adventure! Soaked! Oh no! This is a big one! The Incredicoaster will be closed for refurbishment on January 5th. The calendar also does not list an opening date. Incredicoaster The Incredicoaster is Disneyland’s big roller coaster (shoutout to when it was California Screamin’) and is the only roller coaster at the Disneyland Resort with an upside-down loop. While they might not be as thrilling, a few of my favorites are the Matterhorn Bobsleds or Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, but they are both tamer than the Incredicoaster. ZOOM! You can find all the current operating hours for every attraction on the Disneyland calendar by searching for the specific ride you want to check out. We recommend taking a peek before heading to the parks so you aren’t filled with disappointment as you see that “closed” sign in front of the queue. Inside Out Emotional Whirlwind The Pixar Place Hotel is located right by Disney California Adventure and has a walkway straight to the park. Unfortunately, starting January 5th, this entrance will also not be available. Don’t worry, you’ll still be able to get to the parks and can appreciate the close location, but you will have to go through the normal entrance with the rest of the guests. Entrance A hotel perk is going away, too! Early Entry will no longer be available on January 5th. Instead, guests who are checked in and staying at one of the Disneyland hotels will have one Lightning Lane entry to a Lightning Lane Multi Pass attraction during their stay. Instead of being able to access the park 30 minutes early every morning, you’ll just have the single Lighting Lane instead. EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT LIGHTNING LANE MULTI PASS IN DISNEYLAND Lightning Lane at Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway in Disneyland January 5th is busy, right? Kali River Rapids at Disney’s Animal Kingdom has been closed since October 6th for its annual refurbishment, but that’s all changing soon! Kali River Rapids This ride typically closes during the fall so that Disney can do some routine maintenance, and this year was no different. But, we’re happy to report that after a two-month-long closure, Kali River Rapids is finally reopening. Kali River Rapids at Disney’s Animal Kingdom will officially reopen on December 12th, per the Disney World website. The ride had been closed since October 6th for a routine refurbishment. Typically, the ride closes during the “colder” months when folks are less likely to want to ride it, being that it is a water ride. But starting on December 12th, the ride will be open again. Kali River Rapids boat There are a lot of changes going on at Animal Kingdom, thanks to a new land, Pueblo Esperanza, that will be replacing DinoLand, U.S.A. Right now, only one ride has remained open in Dinoland, Dinosaur, although it will eventually close as construction progresses. Pueblo Esperanza Model But, while DinoLand is undergoing a huge change, there’s still plenty to do at Animal Kingdom. You could pet some animals at Conservation Station! Take the Wildlife Express train to Rafiki’s Planet Watch, and you can do that and so much more. You can even watch Disney’s veterinarians working with some of the wildlife that calls Animal Kingdom home. PLUS, you can learn to draw Disney characters from a real animator. Conservation Station We’ll be on the lookout for more updates you need to know about from Animal Kingdom and beyond. Celebrities! They’re just like us! Meaning they’re in Disney World every chance they get. Magic Kingdom Right now, you can find a lot of celebrities around Disney World thanks to EPCOT’s Candlelight Processional. That means we’ve been keeping our eyes peeled to see some familiar faces, and one Disney celeb gave Magic Kingdom guests the sweetest surprise! Let’s check it out together. In Magic Kingdom, there are a few ways that guests can jump into the magic and tell those classic stories. One of those ways is at Enchanted Tales with Belle in Fantasyland. This attraction takes you through the Beast’s magic mirror into Belle’s library from the Disney classic movie, Beauty and the Beast. Guests can get in on the fun of portraying characters, and actress Susan Egan was one of those people! ©Susan Egan on Instagram Susan Egan is most famously known for her portrayal of Megara in Disney’s animated movie, Hercules, and she also originated the role of Belle when Beauty and the Beast debuted on Broadway in 1994. That’s why her jumping into the role of Mrs. Potts is even more special! She shared a video of her hopping into the scenes and “pouring tea” with Belle and a little guest who was playing Chip. ©Susan Egan on Instagram Susan was in Disney World to be one of the EPCOT Candlelight Processional narrators who tell the American Christmas story along with a choir of Cast Members and the Voice of Liberty, who sing traditional holiday songs. She shared several photos on her social media of her time in Disney World, and she even stopped by to see her boss, Mickey Mouse. ©Susan Egan on Instagram She even posted a picture with her VIP Tour Guide on the Jingle Cruise in Magic Kingdom! We love knowing she has a good taste for dad jokes. Susan has been busy working with Disney lately, and not just over at EPCOT. ©Susan Egan on Instagram Susan recently performed a D23 at Walt Disney World in August 2025. Trust us, we got some serious chills! Susan Egan performing She also stopped by Disney’s newest cruise ship, The Disney Destiny, for its christening. Not only that, but she is also the ship’s Godparent, which is a rare honor! There’s even a cafe inspired by her character Meg, which you know we had to see during our time on the ship. ©Susan Egan on Instagram We absolutely love that Susan got in on the fun of Enchanted Tales with Belle, but we are seriously jealous of the guests who got to see it live in person! We love seeing celebrities in Disney World, especially when we admire their work like we do Susan’s. Be sure to keep following DFB for more Disney celebrity signings, news, and more. When it comes to dining at Disney World, you’ve got a TON of options. Want something quick and easy? You’ve got it. Something middle-of-the-road and comforting? Yep, that too. And if you’re looking for something upscale and luxurious, you can find that as well. The Polite Pig We recently stopped by The Polite Pig at Disney Springs to check out a relatively new addition to the menu, and now we’re bringing you our FULL review. Is it worth a stop on your next trip to the Most Magical Place on Earth? Find out here! The Polite Pig features modern barbecue in a variety of wood-fired smoked and grilled items, and all drinks are served on tap. This is a popular restaurant at Disney Springs — and for good reason. The food here is some of the best around Disney World, certainly some of the best barbecue you’ll find on property. We recently stopped by to try a new Taco Trio — and we’re very glad we did! Taco Trio The Taco Trio is available for $17 and comes with a Pork Belly Taco, a Brisket Taco, and a Chicken Taco. This is a new favorite The Pork Belly taco is made with sweet and spicy pineapple-guajillo glaze and crunchy jicama tomatillo slaw. The pork belly in this taco was SO good — especially with the pineapple-guajillo glaze. It was tender but with a nice chew, and tt was perfectly sweet with a kick to it from the pepper, and the jicama slaw provided a great crunch. It reminded us of a bahn mi sandwich but in taco form, which was lovely. Pork Belly Taco The Brisket Taco features a 3-pepper cherry glaze with roasted corn salsa. This was SUCH an interesting flavor combination. Imagine the sweet and smoky flavor of brisket, combined with a tart flavor from the pepper-cherry glaze. We loved the roasted corn salsa, which paired nicely with the smoky brisket. It was like a roasted corn pico de gallo (which also would have been a great addition to the taco). This was our reporter’s favorite of the three! Brisket Taco The Chicken Taco is made with a jalapeño onion jam, Alabama sauce, and fresh crisp lettuce for that perfect bite. We really, really wanted to love this one, but it was our reporter’s least favorite of the three tacos. The chicken was fresh and had a spiced rub to it — it almost reminded us of rotisserie chicken in flavor. We wish there had been more of the Alabama sauce, just to give the taco more depth. The jalapeño onion jam was spicy and sweet, and we wish there had been a bit more of that, too. Chicken Taco If you’re a fan of tacos, barbecue, or The Polite Pig — you’ll want to add the Taco Trio to your list of must-try Disney World eats! We’ll be on the lookout for more new foods you need to know about at Disney World! In the meantime, make sure you stay tuned to the Disney Food Blog for the latest Disney food news and more. The Southern California favorite Porto’s Bakery and Cafe is making its way to Disneyland Resort’s Downtown Disney District soon — and we just got confirmation that construction has officially started! ©Disney The spot will bring its signature sweet pastries and savory Cuban food to Downtown Disney. Porto’s is part of the expansion of the Downtown Disney District, joining other recently opened eateries such as Din Tai Fung, Paseo, and Centrico. Disney just shared more details and photos, so let’s check them out! Porto’s Bakery & Café is known for its pastries and California-Cuban-inspired dishes, and we’re so excited for it to come to Downtown Disney at Disneyland Resort. Disney has confirmed that we can look forward to dining on Porto’s signature Cheese Rolls, Potato Balls, and other goodies from the bakery and cafe. Not only that, but this will be the first Porto’s location with sit-down table service — and a full bar. ©Disney Disney shared an updated look at the concept art, including the grand exterior and cozy dining space pictured above, plus the large outdoor patio that looks like it will be perfect for people-watching! ©Disney Porto’s Bakery & Cafe will be located at the former spot of La Brea Bakery, near the Esplanade. La Brea Bakery Cafe According to the restaurant’s website, Porto’s came about due to Rosa Porto’s love of sharing cakes and pastries with family and friends. Rosa was born in Cuba and grew up surrounded by her mother’s baking and recipes that had been passed down through her family (who were originally from the Galicia region of Spain). Changes that Disney made to a popular program that lets qualifying disabled people skip long lines at its California and Florida theme parks are too restrictive, disabled fans contend in a federal lawsuit and shareholder proposal that seek to expand eligibility. The battle over who can skip long lines on popular rides because of their disabilities marks the latest struggle by Disney to accommodate disabled visitors while cracking down on past abuses. But some Disney fans say the company has gone too far and has no right to determine who is disabled. “This isn’t right. This isn’t what Walt and Roy would have wanted,” said Shannon Bonadurer, referring to the Disney brothers who founded the entertainment empire. Despite being unable to wait for long periods of time in the heat because she uses an ileostomy bag, Bonadurer was denied a pass for the disability program. In a statement, Disney said it was committed to providing a great experience to all visitors, particularly those with disabilities who may require special accommodations. Here’s a look at changes to Disney parks’ policies for disabled visitors. What is the disability program? The Disability Access Service, or DAS, program allows pass-holders and their immediate family members to make an online reservation for a ride while in the park and then get into an expedited line that typically takes about 10 minutes when it’s their time to go on the ride. DAS guests never have to wait in normal standby lines, which on the most popular attractions can be two hours or more. The DAS program started in 2013 in response to past abuses by disabled “tour guides” who charged money, sometimes hundreds of dollars, to accompany able-bodied guests, enabling such guests to go to the front of lines. Disney says the DAS program needed changing because it had grown fourfold. Before last year’s changes, the percentage of guests having DAS passes jumped from around 5% to 20% over the past dozen years “and showed no signs of slowing,” the company said in court papers. Disney parks make other accommodations for disabled visitors, including maps in Braille, a device that helps transfer visitors from wheelchairs to ride seats, quiet break locations and American Sign Language interpreters for some live shows. The parks permit some service animals on rides and allow some disabled guests to leave a line and rejoin their party before boarding a ride. Who qualifies now? Disney narrowed the scope from people with a wider range of disabilities to mostly guests who “due to a developmental disability such as autism or similar” have difficulties waiting in a long line. Under the changes, guests seeking a DAS pass must be interviewed via video chat by a Disney worker and a contracted medical professional who determine if the person is eligible. Visitors found to have lied can be barred from the parks. Some people with disabilities who have been denied say the new policy is too restrictive. Not only was Bonadurer denied a pass, but so was her 25-year-old son, who is blind and has cerebral palsy and autism. “They are making a determination about whether you’re disabled enough,” said Bonadurer, a professional travel adviser from Michigan. “I would love to wait in line with everyone else, and so would my son, since that would mean he has a normal life. But we don’t, and unfortunately for us, we need adaptations to how we wait.” Disney says the Americans with Disabilities Act doesn’t require equal treatment of people with varying disabilities. The company accommodates those visitors who don’t meet the new DAS criteria with alternatives, Disney said in court filings responding to a federal lawsuit in California. “For example, in a crowded movie theater, a person using a wheelchair may be entitled to priority seating even if they arrive shortly before the movie starts, while a deaf person may only be entitled to a seat with closed captioning,” the company said. At Disney’s main theme park rival, Universal, disabled visitors can get shorter lines if they have a card issued by an international board that certifies venues for their accessibility. What’s next? A shareholder proposal submitted on behalf of DAS Defenders, an advocacy group of Disney fans opposed to the DAS changes, calls on the company next year to commission an independent review of its disability policies and publicly release the findings. The shareholder proposal claims the change to the DAS program has contributed to lower park attendance. Disney’s attorneys told the Securities and Exchange Commission in a November letter that it intends to block the proposal ahead of the company’s 2026 shareholder meeting, saying it was false and misleading about the reasons for an attendance decline, which the company attributed to hurricanes. The company also argued the shareholder proposal amounts to micromanaging day-to-day operations. ___ Follow Mike Schneider on Bluesky: @mikeysid.bsky.social View the full article

Legoland Florida sets opening date for indoor roller coaster
Disney4me posted a topic in Disney News
Legoland Florida theme park has confirmed the opening date for its Galacticoaster. The indoor, family-friendly roller coaster will debut on Feb. 27. Development of the thrill ride was announced in March, with its theme identified in July and its name revealed in September. Its grand opening date was given before a holiday tree-lighting ceremony at the Winter Haven attraction, with the date spelled out as part of a drone show. The event also included appearances by Lego character Space Creature and real-life Space Gal Emily Calandrelli, a science communicator and TV host of “Xploration Outer Space.” Legoland California is also building Galacticoaster, which is part of owner Merlin Entertainments Group’s $90 million investment in the parks. The West Coast version is set to open March 6. The new ride will offer customization of digital versions of the ride vehicles, Merlin Chief Operating Officer Rob Smith said during IAAPA Expo last month. Riders will select key elements — such as the nose, tail, wings and color — of their spacecrafts via RRID technology in a wristband, he said. There will be 625 possible combinations. In the ride’s storyline, passengers try to avoid the “asteroid of probable destruction.” The coaster’s construction is finished, with Legoland Florida now testing the ride and its special effects. Galacticoaster will have speeds up to 40 mph in ride vehicles that seat four passengers in one row. The height requirement is 48 inches (or 40 inches when accompanied by an adult). Hallmark Channel will film a holiday movie next year at locations across Walt Disney World, the companies have announced. The film, starring Lacey Chabert and titled “Holiday Ever After: A Disney World Wish Come True,” will air in late 2026. The storyline features Chabert’s character taking a family vacation to Disney World during holiday season. As fate would have it, they are staying in a resort next door to a man (played by Travis Van Winkle from “You” and “FUBAR”) with whom she had a bad first date. Not many details have been revealed but a wish made at the Cinderella fountain is involved. The project was announced by Chabert during a recent broadcast of “The Hallmark Christmas Experience: A Hometown Holiday.” “I love visiting here with my family and I always thought it would make the absolute perfect setting for a Hallmark Christmas movie,” Chabert said, flanked by Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse at Magic Kingdom. Chabert has appeared in more than 40 Hallmark productions. Other actors set to appear in the Disney-Hallmark film are Richard Kind (“Only Murders in the Building,” “Inside Out,” “A Bug’s Life”), Christy Carlson Romano (“Kim Possible,” “Even Stevens”) and Bryce Durfee (“General Hospital”). “We’re thrilled that Walt Disney World will serve as the immersive setting for a Hallmark holiday movie highlighting the cheerful festivities of the season,” Sally Conner, vice president global content, said in a news release. “Across our theme parks, resorts and beyond, countless unique stories unfold and new memories are made every day with our guests. This film is a wonderful way to share that joy and pixie dust with fans everywhere.” It will be the first original movie collaboration between the two companies, but they have a shared history. “The partnership between Hallmark and Disney dates back decades, when a shared Kansas City connection and friendship between Hallmark’s founder, J.C. Hall, and Walt Disney himself led to our first-ever licensed products, including the very first greeting card featuring Mickey Mouse,” Darren Abbott, chief brand officer for Hallmark, said in the news release. “We’re thrilled to expand our relationship beyond the products we create together and onto the screen with this heartwarming and joyful Christmas movie that embodies the very best of both brands,” he said. Naturally, there will be merchandise: “A collection of Disney and Hallmark products inspired by the film,” Disney says, including ornaments, greeting cards, gift wrap and more. If you’re heading to EPCOT soon, here are a few outfit rules you can follow if your favorite pavilion is Germany! Stepping into the Germany Pavilion at EPCOT feels like walking into a cozy Bavarian village straight out of a fairytale. Between the charming architecture, the smell of fresh caramel wafting from Karamell-Küche, and the lively Biergarten music spilling into the courtyard, it’s one of the most immersive spots in World Showcase. And whether guests mean to or not, there are a few unspoken outfit themes everyone seems to follow the moment they cross that bridge into Germany. Here are the “rules” that shape the fashion vibes in this fan-favorite pavilion. DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission. 1. The Snow White Style Spell You can’t set foot in the Germany Pavilion without feeling the Snow White energy — after all, this is where she meets guests! That means you’ll see pops of her iconic colors (blue, red, and yellow), apple accessories, bow headbands, and whimsical cottage-core pieces that feel straight out of the forest. It’s like EPCOT guests collectively agree to channel the original Disney princess the moment they’re within sight of her wishing well. Snow White in Germany Complete any outfit with this Snow White Loungefly! ©Amazon If you’re going to lean into that Snow White–style vibe at the Germany Pavilion, this Snow White Loungefly is basically your fairy-tale must-have. With the classic blue, red, and yellow color scheme (hello, princess vibes!) and just the right amount of storybook charm, this backpack feels like it was made for strolling through Germany. It’s made of natural faux leather and has an adorable apple pull charm on the zipper. View on Amazon You’ll be the fairest of them all with this shirt! ©Amazon If you want your outfit to say, “Mirror, mirror on the wall — I’m the fairest in EPCOT of all,” slipping on this tee is a no-brainer. With its subtle nod to Snow White’s story and that iconic mirror motif, this tee is like the casual-cool version of the typical princess Disney-bounding. View on Amazon You can rock this Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs shirt in Germany! ©Amazon Commemorate a fairytale classic with this Snow White tee — a perfect nod to Snow White nostalgia while you wander through the Germany Pavilion. With the vintage-style graphics that celebrate the film’s legacy, this tee feels like casting yourself right into the storybook world. We love the floral detail behind the characters, and this would be great to wear during EPCOT’s International Flower & Garden Festival next year. View on Amazon 2. Oktoberfest Vibes Are Practically Required The Germany Pavilion captures the spirit of Oktoberfest year-round, and visitors often dress the part — intentionally or not. Think dirndl-inspired dresses, lederhosen-patterned tees, Bavarian embroidery, and festive blue-and-white checkered prints. With Biergarten’s lively polka band and communal tables just steps away, it’s no wonder guests lean into the celebratory German festival look. Biergarten Celebrate Oktoberfest with Mickey and Minnie Mouse! ©Amazon If you want your Germany-Pavilion outfit to scream “prost!” without even stepping into the beer garden yet, this Mickey and Minnie tee is just the ticket. Featuring Mickey and Minnie in full Bavarian attire, it’s basically a wearable “cheers!” to the pavilion’s festival energy. It’s comfy, festive, and nails that Oktoberfest-themed look while still keeping it totally Disney. View on Amazon This Mickey tee will fit in perfectly! ©Amazon If you want your look to channel full Bavarian charm — but with a little Disney — this Mickey tee brings the vibe perfectly. With Mickey decked out in lederhosen (yes, really), this tee says, “I’m here for Oktoberfest… and I brought Mickey along.” Pair it with shorts, jeans, or a skirt, and suddenly you look like you belong wandering the cobbled paths of the Germany Pavilion. View on Amazon 3. When in Germany… Pretzel-Themed Everything Pretzels are basically a national pastime in this pavilion, and the outfits prove it. From pretzel Minnie ears to snack-themed tees to pretzel-shaped bags, guests proudly represent EPCOT’s jumbo-pretzel culture. And honestly, with the smell of freshly baked pretzels drifting through the air, who wouldn’t want to wear their love for the pavilion’s most iconic snack? Jumbo Pretzel Mickey Pretzels, anyone? ©Amazon If you’re ready to wear your snack love loud and proud, this Mickey pretzel tee is an absolute win. It’s a great mix of a classic Disney snack and your favorite EPCOT pavilion. It’s basically a love letter to every jumbo pretzel you’ll inhale while wandering the Germany Pavilion. View on Amazon 4. Steins, Suds, and Beer-Themed Gear The Germany Pavilion is home to some of EPCOT’s most beloved beers, served from ornate steins that look straight out of a Bavarian cellar. That beer-centric charm spills over into fashion — think stein-shaped accessories, beer-logo shirts, and Oktoberfest-style graphics. Whether guests are grabbing a quick pour at the outdoor kiosk or heading into Biergarten Restaurant, they tend to dress for the occasion. Bier Stand When drinking around the World Showcase, this is the shirt! ©Amazon If you and your crew are heading to Biergarten or just grabbing a cold German brew at the pavilion, this Drinks Well With Others tee makes it clear you came to party — Bavarian style. With its playful nod to beer culture and Oktoberfest vibes, wearing this tee while raising a stein feels like the unofficial dress code at the Germany Pavilion: laid-back, festive, and ready for good times. View on Amazon Whether you’re channeling Snow White, embracing Oktoberfest flair, rocking pretzel merch, or showing off your best beer-themed gear, the Germany Pavilion brings out some seriously fun fashion energy. These “unspoken rules” aren’t required—but they’re part of what makes this corner of World Showcase feel so magical and inviting. For more tips for your EPCOT visit, follow Disney Food Blog. Driving through Florida has never been an easy task. Traffic on I-4 alone can ruin your drive into Disney and Universal. Now, a new Florida law might make part of your car decor illegal. License plate cover ©Disney According to WFTV9, this new law prohibits any obstruction of license plates, which means your license plate frame might have to go. House Bill 253 and statute 320.061 passed on October 1st, 2025, making obstruction of your license plate a second-degree misdemeanor. The new legislation makes it illegal to block, cover, distort, or even slightly obscure a Florida license plate. ©Disney Penalties for this law include up to 60 days in jail or a $500 fine for knowingly driving with a covered plate. While it doesn’t mean all license plate frames have to go, it does mean you need to check yours just in case. Frames are permitted only if they don’t cover the numbers or letters, registration decal, the word “Florida,” or any part of the plate border. Gold License Plate Frame in Disney World The bill also clarifies that you cannot attach a “substance, reflective matter, illumination device, spray, coating, or covering” that would interfere with the visibility of the plate. This shouldn’t impact most license plate frames; however, it won’t hurt Floridians to double-check. FABULUS This shouldn’t impact your Disney World vacation and will only apply to Florida plates, but remain prepared for those I-4 wrecks, backups, and more, no matter who you are. Recently, Disney has announced new lands, attractions, and entertainment headed to the theme parks, new ships coming to the Disney Cruise Line, and so much more. Tree of Life in Disney’s Animal Kingdom Keeping up with the latest construction permits Disney World files can be a great way to find out just what is going on around the parks and hotels, and we recently spotted one you might want to know about! We’re always on the hunt for the latest construction permits filed by Disney to get an idea of what sort of changes might be coming to the parks, and we just spotted one that we think signals major changes for the Pueblo Esperanza retheme at Animal Kingdom! Pueblo Esperanza Model Walt Disney Imagineering has filed a permit for general construction at an address that matches up with the entrance courtyard of the DINOSAUR ride, which will eventually become an Indiana Jones dark ride. The work is set to begin in February 2026, which is when DINOSAUR is scheduled to permanently close. Based on this, it seems like Disney will be wasting no time getting this transformation started. via arcGIS The contractor listed on the permit is The Whiting-Turner Company, which has been a long-time contractor of Disney World projects. The expiration date on the permit is just one year from the start date, which likely means this permit is for site prep work and not the full retheme. Unfortunately, general construction isn’t too specific, and we don’t have many more details about this particular permit. New Indiana Jones ride Disney announced that a retheme was coming to DinoLand, U.S.A. in Animal Kingdom back in 2023. It was later announced that DinoLand would be transformed into an area themed to the Tropical Americas — and that Indiana Jones was a potential contender for new IP in this area. The new Tropical Americas land coming to Disney’s Animal Kingdom lets guests explore a preserved Maya temple – and the ensuing adventure – alongside Indiana Jones. As described by Disney, the new Indiana Jones attraction will follow “the man with the hat” during a time when he has “recently discovered a perfectly preserved Maya temple, and that can only mean one thing: it’s time to explore it. He’s heard rumors about a mythical creature deep within the temple — and he’s got to see it for himself. So, he brings us along on the adventure… but will there be snakes? We’ll just have to wait and see.” The new Tropical Americas land coming to Disney’s Animal Kingdom lets guests explore a preserved Maya temple – and the ensuing adventure – alongside Indiana Jones. The Indiana Jones ride will be part of the larger Pueblo Esperanza area, which will also feature an attraction based on Encanto. According to Disney, “the land feels lived in, with a long, rich history — plus there’s a large hacienda which will be one of the largest quick-service restaurants at Walt Disney World Resort. The space will be lush and sprawling, featuring a large fountain in the center where the villagers like to gather and tell stories. Additionally, a woodcarver has created a giant working carousel featuring his favorite animals from Disney stories. It’s a new take on a classic attraction that young families are going to love.” Pueblo Esperanza Market Concept Art ©Disney While we have limited details so far, we’ll be on the lookout for more updates about the Indiana Jones ride and Pueblo Esperanza. Disney’s Animal Kingdom is loved for its immersive theming, wildlife, and thrilling attractions, but for many Disney fans in their 50s, not every ride is worth it. Dinosaur in Animal Kingdom While the park offers plenty of adventure, a handful of attractions have earned a reputation for being too rough, too jarring, or simply too uncomfortable to be fun. Whether it’s back pain concerns or the misery of walking around soaked for hours, these four rides are often the first to get crossed off the list for those guests in their 50s. DINOSAUR: Your Back Adjustment DINOSAUR looks innocent enough from the outside, but seasoned guests know better. This chaotic, dark ride sends guests careening through prehistoric jungles in what might be one of Disney’s bumpiest ride vehicles. In fact, some compare it to going to the chiropractor with the way it moves. Fans in their 50s frequently report that the attraction’s jerky movements and sudden jolts leave them feeling like they’ve been tossed around by a T. Rex. Even those who love the storyline admit that the physical discomfort simply isn’t worth the next-day soreness. It’s a ride many adults skip — not because it’s scary, but because their backs are begging them to. DINOSAUR Ride Vehicle Expedition Everest: Thrills That Take a Toll Expedition Everest is an iconic Disney coaster, but it’s also notorious for being rougher than many expect. The backward segment, rapid directional changes, and high-speed drops can be exhilarating for thrill-seekers, but less so for those with aging joints. Disney fans in their 50s often say that, as much as they love Everest’s theming and the Yeti storyline, the ride leaves them feeling rattled. Some even report that it triggers dizziness or neck stiffness, making it one of the top Animal Kingdom attractions they reluctantly pass on. Everest! Kilimanjaro Safaris: Surprisingly Tough At first glance, Kilimanjaro Safaris seems like the gentlest ride in the park, but don’t let the slow pace fool you. The safari trucks traverse rough, uneven terrain, and those bumps can add up over the course of the lengthy tour. Guests with back or hip issues often note that the constant jostling, combined with hard bench seating, makes the experience surprisingly uncomfortable. While the animals are incredible, many fans in their 50s choose to enjoy them from walking trails instead of bracing themselves for fifteen minutes of spine-shaking safari roads. Kilimanjaro Safaris Kali River Rapids: Soaked Clothes + Florida Heat = Hard Pass While the other rides are skipped for being physically rough, Kali River Rapids is avoided for an entirely different reason: getting absolutely drenched. Many adults in their 50s say the payoff just isn’t worth spending the rest of the day in wet clothes, soggy socks, and squishy shoes. Because the Florida humidity makes drying off nearly impossible, the discomfort lasts for hours. Add to that the spinning motion and the fact that you can’t predict who will get the worst of the splash, and this water ride easily lands on the “no thanks” list. Kali River Rapids Instead of these rides, guests might enjoy a few of the incredible shows that are at Animal Kingdom. Festival of the Lion King and Finding Nemo: The Big Blue… and Beyond! are both indoor shows that are entertaining and a great place to relax. There are also great lounges and restaurants to enjoy at this park as well. That’s what makes Disney parks great — there is still something for every kind of guest. Festival of the Lion King Animal Kingdom is filled with unforgettable experiences, but these four rides aren’t always friendly to aging backs, joints, and comfort preferences. Be sure to follow DFB for more tips for your Disney World vacation to see what might be a good fit for you! This Disney World Park Will Be EMPTY in 2026 Is there a Disney World ride you refuse to ride? Tell us in the comments below! View the full article
