There are a lot of still new things to enjoy at Animal Kingdom, and today we’ve got the scoop on a few of them! Over at Tiffins, the much-lauded signature restaurant that embraces travel and adventure, diners may experience not one but two prix fixe menus! The first prix fixe option is designed for busy days — days when the restaurant has lots of ADRs lined up. Offerings include Braised Wagyu Pozole and Grilled Swordfish. Tiffins “Busy” Prix Fixe Menu The second prix fixe option will be offered on not-so-busy days and offers a trio of appetizers, choice of entree including swordfish, wagyu, grilled chicken, or a noodle bowl, and a trio of desserts. Both menus are served only 11:30AM to 3:30PM. Meanwhile, over in Pandora, visitors to the distant world can nosh on two new snacks! Both are available at Pongu Pongu, which until recently only served one edible delight: the Pongu Lumpia (which is delicious!) in addition to beverages. Now guests can feast on the Viper Wolf Paw. Wolf Paw This is essentially a cinnamon roll in the shape of, we have to assume, a Viper Wolf’s paw. It’s topped with shaved almonds, which lend a nice crunch. Wolf Paw This is a typical Disney World cinnamon roll, so don’t expect any surprises. But for $3.99 (or a snack credit!), it’s a good size and makes a satisfying snack if you’re, say, killing time in the line for Flight of Passage. Wolf Paw The second new pastry at Pongu Pongu is the Moara Coffee Cake, another cinnamon-y treat…but this time with a TON of food coloring. Moara Coffee Cake This has a typical coffee cake flavor — heavy on the cinnamon. The bright swirls of color are just for show; they do not add any flavor. The cake itself is nice and moist, so if you prefer a drier, crumbly coffee cake, this one isn’t for you. (One has to wonder if the copious amounts of added food color might be to blame/thank for the moistness of the cake… .) Moara Coffee Cake The topping has icing mixed in, which added some extra sweetness in addition to that awesome crumble. Moara Coffee Cake The Moara Coffee Cake is $3.79 (and Disney Dining Plan Snack Credit eligible), so it’s also fairly reasonably priced. It’s really nice to have a couple of good pastry options, since so many guests are spending their early Animal Kingdom hours checking out the new rides. Today, we’re taking our ongoing series of Disney-inspired bento box tutorials to Star Wars Launch Bay at Disney’s Hollywood Studios to create an insanely cute Porg from Star Wars: The Last Jedi. Disney Parks Blog reader and fan Mike Kravanis is joined by a few surprise guests this time as he shows us how to make an amazing Porg bento box. To create a Porg bento box, start with regular white rice for the creature’s body and sushi rice for its face. A portion of a nori seaweed sheet is used to create a mouth, black olives for eyes and black sesame seeds for a nose. Add soy sauce to create some color on the Porg’s body and sesame- seed-covered rice wings for a final touch. Check out our video for detailed step-by-step instructions. Superstar Katy Perry has been very busy as she makes her way around the world with her “Witness: The Tour,” among a number of other projects. In case you didn’t know, her fourth studio album, “Witness,” debuted in June at No. 1 on the Billboard Top 200 and No. 1 on iTunes in 46 countries. Wowzer! After performing in Orlando this week, Katy took the entire tour cast to hang at her happiest place ever, Magic Kingdom Park at Walt Disney World Resort! Donning her finest Disney couture, the “Chained to the Rhythm” singer climbed aboard a horse on Prince Charming Regal Carrousel at Magic Kingdom Park for a spin around Mickey’s world before meeting up with Goofy, who wore his polka dot bowtie just for Katy. There’s something really special about spending the winter holidays in Europe. Chilly nights make the perfect opportunity for warm baked goods (not to mention mulled wine), and Christmas lights keep the town squares well-lit into the wee hours. Adventures by Disney offers several trips to Europe during this special season, but there’s nothing more festive than their holiday cruise down Europe’s Danube River. Season’s greetings to you and yours! Walt Disney Parks and Resorts has many great traditions that make the holiday season merry and bright, and one of my favorite traditions at Disney Parks is our commitment to support local communities and share the joy with families around the world. It’s truly the most wonderful time of the year. Walt Disney World Resort volunteers worked with the U.S. Marine Corps to collect more than 27,000 toys and gifts for the annual Toys for Tots drive. Cast members also served meals at the local Coalition for the Homeless, created stockings and bears for the Salvation Army, made comfort kits for children in Puerto Rico and brought the Disney Kids & Family Zone to a holiday community event. Disneyland Resort worked with the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve and Anaheim Fire & Rescue to collect nearly 10,000 Toys for Tots donations, and Disney VoluntEARS brought the spirit of the season to patients at the Children’s Hospital of Orange County with a holiday party that included a giant gingerbread carousel. Even more volunteers decorated the Single Marine Program Recreation Center, a home away from home for service men and women at Camp Pendleton in California. With the help of Mickey, Minnie and Goofy, Disney Cruise Line crew members visited more than 1,500 children across the Bahamas and the Caribbean and dressed teddy bears in cruise-ready attire for Salvation Army Orlando Area Command. Cast members from Disney’s Hilton Head Island Resort and Disney’s Vero Beach Resort gave back to their local communities by crafting with kids and supporting local outreach events. Disney VoluntEARS from Aulani, a Disney Resort & Spa decked the halls of the Fisher House Hawaii, where patients and families stay while receiving medical care at the Tripler Army Medical Center. Volunteers from Disneyland Paris and several Disney characters visited the French presidential residence, Elysée, during a Christmas celebration to bring holiday joy to 500 kids from around France. Earlier this month, more volunteers helped with the annual AFM-Téléthon, the biggest fundraising event in the world which raises money for genetic, rare and progress disease treatment research. Cast members in Europe also donated hundreds of presents to Mission Noël and supported visits to Disneyland Paris for underserved children and families from France and the United Kingdom. In Asia, many more Disney VoluntEARS made magic happen in their local communities. Shanghai Disney Resort cast members decorated several children’s hospitals across the city and delivered care packages to children at Shanghai Children’s Medical Center. Disney VoluntEARS also visited hospitals and elderly care centers around Hong Kong, and in Tokyo, Disney VoluntEars joined with hundreds of community volunteers to celebrate the holidays with children at a local orphanage. Our Disney Parks VoluntEARS are more committed than ever to carry on the Disney legacy of volunteerism and share the joy in their communities every day. Last year alone, Disney VoluntEARS donated more than 542,000 hours of community service to benefit nonprofit organizations and enrich the lives of children and families around the world. The stars of the “Disney Parks Magical Christmas Celebration” will be decked out in festive and fashionable attire this December 25. We caught up with host Emmy Award-winner Julianne Hough and several celebrity performers – including Idina Menzel, Lea Michelle, Sofia Carson, and others – during their tapings at the Disneyland and Walt Disney World Resorts to hear what they chose to wear. (We were also able to grab a few celebs who contributed performances to other ABC and Disney Channel specials that aired earlier in the season). This year’s outfits range from designer looks by Gucci, Valentino and Yves Saint Laurent, to comfy Vans and Dr. Martens shoes. One favorite among female performers – Minnie Mouse slippers to get them through a long day of rehearsing and performing. Check out the video above to get all the inside details. Churros are pretty much the best. If you didn’t already know, there are churros all over the Disney Parks on both coasts, and our guests consume over 5.5 million of them every year. Churros can be found all over our parks and resorts, and you never know what fun flavors you might find, from classic cinnamon sugar to sour watermelon. I’ve got the inside scoop on where to find the best of the best from east coast to west, and I’ve even got a special recipe to share with you! Disneyland Resort has upped their game in the past few years with specialty churros like the S’mores Churro! Now I LOVE anything s’mores flavored, and this churro is definitely one of my top favorites. Just hop on over to the New Orleans Churro Cart or the Churro Cart near Splash Mountain to find this scrumptious graham cracker-dusted churro that comes with a marshmallow-chocolate dipping sauce. Want some sourness in your life? Well then the sour watermelon churro is for you! You can find this unique treat at the Churro Carts near Splash Mountain and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. This churro with bright red sugar has been a guest favorite since it debuted in Disneyland park. For a churro that’s out of this world, try the Galactic Churro with purple and black cinnamon sugar and tiny silver and pink stars, found in the shadow of The Collector’s Warehouse in A Bug’s Land. You can also find a red churro in Cars Land that comes with crème anglaise – “Katchow!” And near Star Tours in Tomorrowland in Disneyland park, you can choose between churros with red- or blue-colored sugar. With all of these bright colors, you can easily take a perfect photo for all your social networks! For the holidays at Disneyland park, you’ll find an AMAZING peppermint hot chocolate churro near Sleeping Beauty Castle and also in Town Square. But this churro is only available through Jan 7, 2018, so go try it while you still can! Are you a fan of a good funnel cake? Well what if I told you that you can get a churro funnel cake at Hungry Bear Restaurant in Disneyland park? This delicious house-made dessert comes topped with cinnamon sugar, caramel and whipped cream. Down here in Orlando, Walt Disney World Resort has some fancy churro offerings of its own, In Epcot, the kiddos can enjoy a delicious dessert of Churritos with chocolate and caramel syrup at San Angel Inn Restaurante as well as La Hacienda de San Angel. Churros with caramel dipping sauce can also be found at La Cantina de San Angel. In Magic Kingdom Park, Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Cafe has a churro offering that’s good for all ages! Available year-round, their cinnamon sugar churro bites come with a chocolate dipping sauce. For the holiday season, these bites come with festive red and green cinnamon sugar. If you like fondue, you can get it with a churro, too! At Disney Springs, Morimoto Asia has a special Churro Fondue dessert. These house-made churros come with a chocolate hazelnut sauce and vanilla ice cream. Are all of these churros making you hungry? Well I’ve got good news! Even if you’re not at a Disney park, you can make these right from the comfort of your own kitchen. Check out the recipe video below to learn how to make some delicious homemade churro tots. Ingredients 1 cup of water 3 eggs 4 oz butter ¼ tsp salt ¼ tsp cinnamon 1 ¼ cups flour Cinnamon/Sugar Mix 1 ½ cup oil Instructions 1. Combine 1 cup water, 4oz butter, ¼ tsp salt, ¼ tsp cinnamon in a pot over medium heat 2. Bring pot to a rolling boil 3. Add 1 ¼ cups flour 4. Reduce heat to low 5. Stir vigorously until the mix forms a ball 6. Remove from heat and let rest for 5-7 min 7. Add 3 eggs, one at a time, and stir until combined 8. In a skillet, heat 1 ½ cups of oil to 350o and stir 9. Spoon rested dough into a piping bag 10. Squeeze 1-inch strips into hot oil 11. Fry churro tots until golden 12. Drain churro tots on a paper towel 13. Coat in cinnamon/sugar mix 14. Serve with melted chocolate sauce 15. Bon appetit! View the full article

You may be familiar with OpenTable as an online tool to make restaurant reservations in dining locations across the United States. For some time now, several Disney Springs restaurants have been available for booking via the website, but those have been relegated to non-Disney owned restaurants. OpenTable Screenshot But that just changed, as six Disney World Resort restaurants are now available for booking on Open Table: Flying Fish at BoardWalk Inn, Grand Floridian Cafe at the Grand Floridian, Boatwright’s at Port Orleans Resort — Riverside, The Wave at the Contemporary Resort, Artist Point at Wilderness Lodge, and Sanaa at Animal Kingdom Lodge. OpenTable Screenshot Outside of Disney World, Wind & Waves Grill at Disney’s Vero Beach Resort is also available for booking. OpenTable Screenshot Booking through OpenTable requires signing up for an account on the site and providing your email address so you may receive information regarding your reservation. OpenTable Confirmation Message Screenshot Upon booking a table, guests receive a confirmation message along with any additional information necessary. OpenTable Confirmation Message Screenshot Guests also have the ability to modify or cancel their reservation. So in that sense, it’s similar to making an Advance Dining Reservation via DisneyWorld.com or the My Disney Experience app. A major difference, though, is that — at time of publishing — guests are not required to provide a credit card in order to make a reservation via OpenTable, thereby not incurring a cancellation or no show fee, as is the case with an Advance Dining Reservation made through Disney’s official booking engines. Another difference is that you will not find the same 180 day booking window for reservations made through Disney. In attempting to book Boatwright’s via OpenTable on December 21st, for instance, the furthest out we could make a reservation was for February 28, 2018. The first Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge merchandise was unveiled earlier this month at Star Wars: Galactic Nights at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, so of course we wanted to give our readers a look as well! This merchandise is the first to be inspired by the new Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge lands that are currently under construction at both Disneyland park and Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge is set to debut in 2019, and will allow guests to visit a remote trading port on the edge of wild space, where Star Wars characters and their stories come to life – and where guests will find themselves in the middle of the action as they live their own Star Wars journey. The first Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge merchandise is an assortment of men’s and women’s T-shirts, hats and more that feature faces and places familiar to Star Wars fans, including the Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge logo, the Millennium Falcon, BB-8, DJ Rex and more. More than two weeks ahead of its public release in China, Star Wars: The Last Jedi made its debut at the Walt Disney Grand Theater at Shanghai Disney Resort. Fans lined the red carpet in costume for a glimpse of Daisy Ridley, Mark Hamill, director Rian Johnson and producer Ram Bergman – not to mention BB-8 and R2-D2. Ahead of the premiere, the cast and crew shared a few behind-the-scenes stories and presented lightsabers to four young Jedi apprentices. They also visited Star Wars Launch Bay at Shanghai Disneyland, where they encountered Kylo Ren and caught up with C-3PO. A processional of Stormtroopers crashed the party, but the Force prevailed and the night ended in applause. View the full article

The lineup of performers has been announced for the Garden Rocks Concert Series at the 2018 Epcot Flower and Garden Festival! Garden Rocks concert series performers announced! The Garden Rocks concerts take place Friday through Monday nights throughout the festival and this year’s lineup features seven new-to-the-Festival performers, including a few that are regulars at the Epcot Food and Wine Festival. Alright, alright, alright! Matthew McConaughey has made himself at home in Florida while filming a movie in the Sunshine State over the past few months. So naturally, the Oscar-winning actor brought the family to Walt Disney World Resort to spend some quality time together when the parks are decked out for the holidays! While at Magic Kingdom Park, Matthew met up with Mickey Mouse in his Santa garb, along with Disney’s iconic Toy Soldiers.
