  3. There are a lot of rules — official and unofficial — when visiting Walt Disney World. Whether they’re related to travel, hotels, parks, transportation, or dining, there can be a ton to remember. Now, there may be a few more if you’re heading to the “Most Magical Place on Earth” in 2026. Magic Kingdom Whether you’re a Florida resident, someone road tripping to Disney World, or an air traveler already dealing with everything that goes along with *THAT*, be aware of these new rules as they might just have an impact on your trip. Watch Those License Plates So, this first one is expressly for Florida residents. A new law passed in October — House Bill 253 and Statute 320.061 — makes obstruction of a Florida license plate through blocking, covering, distorting, or even slightly obscuring illegal, to the tune of a second-degree misdemeanor. The bill also stresses that “substance, reflective matter, illumination device, spray, coating, or covering” that would interfere with the visibility of the plate are also banned. Florida Make-A-Wish License Plate Design ©Disney Penalties for knowingly driving with a covered plate include up to 60 days in jail or a $500 fine. Suffice to say, residents of the Sunshine State should make sure their plates are clearly visible, especially if they have any kind of plate frame. To be clear, frames are permitted if they don’t cover the numbers or letters, registration decal, the word “Florida,” or any part of the plate border, so be sure to check yours. Phones DOWN Another potential Florida law currently making its way through the state’s legislative body would affect anyone driving to Disney World, even those with out-of-state plates. The new bill would strengthen the state’s already stringent law regarding cell phone use by drivers, expanding the ban on texting while driving to cover holding or “supporting” a handheld device while driving. Driving to Disney World The proposed bill would make it illegal for drivers to call from their phone, hold it, or even rest it on their laps. The bill specifies “Handheld manner’ means holding a wireless communications device in one or both hands or physically supporting the device with any other part of the body.” Drivers who violate the proposed law — which is similar to those on the books in 30 other states as well as Washington D.C. — would receive a $150 fine and 3 points off their licenses for their first offense, a $250 fine and 3 more points against the license for s second offense, and a $500 fine, 4 points against the license, and a 90-day license suspension for the third. The REAL ID Saga Continues As those who have been following the long-running REAL ID travel saga know that 2025 saw the Transportation Safety Administration (TSA) finally make having a REAL ID or equivalent identification necessary to fly domestically. ©DHS.gov However, in late 2025, the TSA announced an amendment to the rule. According to the agency, “passengers who do not present an acceptable form of ID and still want to fly an option to pay a $45 fee to use a modernized alternative identity verification system, TSA ConfirmID, to establish identity at security checkpoints beginning on February 1st, 2026. Travelers will be able to pay $45 to use TSA ConfirmID for a 10-day travel period. TSA urges travelers who do not have a REAL ID to schedule an appointment at their local DMV to update their ID as soon as possible.” Keep that in mind if you’re flying into Orlando International Airport (MCO) for a Disney trip this year. ©Getty Images If you’re planning to travel to Walt Disney World next year, keep these potential rules in mind, as they MAY have an impact on your vacation. Stay tuned to DFB for more on traveling to the Orlando area. 4. Being in Disney World every day means we’ve pretty much gotten it down to a science. One way we can have a smooth trip is by figuring out what you need to pack that are actually essentials vs. what everyone just tells you to buy. FuelRod Here are three essentials you can grab on Amazon right now that will make your next trip so much easier. From battery packs you can keep fully charged, to a rain poncho you’ll be thanking yourself for packing, heed our warning and grab these while you can! DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission. You need these Rain Ponchos. Frogg Toggs Poncho We can’t stop talking about these because we truly love them. If you’re coming to Disney World, it’s likely going to rain at some point during your trip, and if you’re coming during the summer, it might happen EVERY day. While there are plastic “trash bag” like ponchos available in gift shops around Disney World, or you might have a heavy-duty raincoat at home, these ponchos are perfect for Florida. Frogg Togg Poncho These ponchos are lightweight and breathable because Florida can also get hot. They fold up easily, and you can throw them in your backpack so you’re prepared for the next storm. When the rain comes, you don’t want to stop your vacation to find ponchos, spend a ton of money on them, and then have to throw them away at the end of the day just to do it all over again the next day. We reuse these all the time, and they make life so much easier. Check It Out Here! Don’t forget to grab a FuelRod Battery Pack! Swapping out for free These are essential during your trip. While we all love the idea of putting our phones down and being in the moment, from booking your next Lightning Lane, taking pictures, making dining reservations, pulling up a map, and so much more, your phone battery might drain faster than you’re expecting. While you might have your own battery packs at home, let me tell you why FuelRods are something I can’t live without. FuelRods save the day! What’s so incredible about these is that you can swap your dead packs for fully charged ones for FREE around Disney World. And even at some airports!! Yep, that means if you run out of charge, all you need to do is find the closest station, swap it out for free, and you’re on your way to the next gorgeous photo opportunity. I use these every single time I go to Disney World, and while you can buy them in the parks, it can be more expensive than buying them ahead of time. Do yourself a favor and grab them while you’re thinking about it, so you’re prepared for your next trip. Check It Out Here! We also love this Handheld Mini Fan. JISULIFE handheld fan While Florida loves to rain, it also loves to be HOT. Depending on where you’re from, you might not be used to the brutal heat along with the sticky humidity. This little fan has saved the day more than once! It’s so small that you won’t notice the weight in your backpack, but when you need that little bit of coolness, this is going to help. It might be small, but it packs a punch! JISULIFE Handheld Mini Fan When it’s just too hot to handle, we pull it out and turn on the fan. We’ll hold it in line for rides or characters, set it up while we’re eating our snacks, and even keep it close by while we’re just walking around the parks. It also doubles as a power bank when you need a bit more charge. It also has 12 to 19 hours of cooling, so you won’t have to worry about running out of battery during the day. Check It Out Here! We’ve tried these Disney essentials, and we truly use them every day. Make sure you keep following Disney Food Blog for more tips and tricks to help survive your next Disney World vacation — we’re in the parks every day sharing the best advice with you! 5. Between Magic Kingdom, Hollywood Studios, EPCOT, Animal Kingdom, and Disney Springs, there are so many places to eat at Disney World! Cinderella Castle For all that the Magic Kingdom has to offer, we find ourselves often going back to the Columbia Harbour House. This time around, we grabbed a classic go-to dish for many guests, and we’re giving you our full review! Is this something you’ll want to grab? Let’s find out. The Columbia Harbour House is located in Liberty Square, near the Haunted Mansion. It’s a quick service spot with two floors of seating, and mobile order is available there. The spot offers seafood, New England-inspired favorites, and more as you dine in a cozy, seafaring setting. Columbia Harbour House As we said, we went to try a classic dish, and grabbed the New England Clam Chowder for $6.79. It’s a smaller portion and cheaper option as it’s available as a side, not a full entree. New England Clam Chowder The clam chowder was very creamy, soft, and smooth. It goes down very nicely! It’s really good when it’s warm, so try to eat this as soon as you get it before it cools down. This was very good! The clams are finely cut into pieces, so the soup doesn’t feel too chunky, again making it easier to go down. The soup also has a pepperiness to it. If you’re a fan of seafood or a fan of clam chowder, you’ll really like this — it tastes like a clam chowder should. There were also potato chunks in there that added great texture and flavor. You need to try this! Overall, it’s a super easy dish to grab and eat. We think this would work best as a light lunch or snack when you’re looking for something not too heavy. We’re constantly trying food around Disney World, so make sure to stay tuned to the Disney Food Blog so you don’t miss any reviews! 6. Disneyland Paris has officially opened reservations for its Disney Adventure World Passholder Previews. ©Disney Right now, Annual Passholders of Disneyland Paris have an exciting opportunity to snag a reservation for one of the park’s biggest expansions ever. Here’s what you need to know to take advantage of this limited-time opportunity! The announcement comes via Disneyland Paris social media, where Disney shared that Passholder reservations are now open and expected to fill quickly. Starting March 15th, Disneyland Pass Gold members will be among the first to enter the park’s newest expansion. Soon afterwards, on March 18th, and 23rd-25th, all other Annual Passholder tiers will be allowed to enter with a reservation. These previews are part of Disney’s ongoing efforts to celebrate its loyal Annual Passholder community and give them early access to what promises to be one of the most ambitious expansions in the park’s history. With Adventure World bringing new storytelling, immersive lands, and next-level entertainment, Passholders have every reason to be excited. ©Disney While details about exactly which experiences and attractions will be included in the previews may vary, Disney’s messaging indicates that you can expect sneak peeks at newly themed areas that tie into beloved franchise worlds and characters. Historically, these kinds of preview events allow Passholders to get a feel for the layout, enjoy shorter lines, and soak up the atmosphere in a way that’s often more relaxed than a standard park day. Concept art of the Lion King ride coming to Disneyland Paris. Reservations for the Passholder Previews are typically offered on a first-come, first-served basis and can sell out quickly, especially for popular time slots on weekends or holidays. Annual Passholders interested in attending should be sure to check the official Disneyland Paris Passholder portal and the preview reservation page often, as new dates and times may be added or updated throughout the preview period. ©Disney For many Disneyland Paris visitors, Adventure World represents a major evolution of the park, combining fresh storytelling with dynamic new attractions and immersive environments that expand the destination’s appeal. Having the opportunity to preview parts of it ahead of the official opening is a rare perk, and one that Passholders won’t want to miss. Whether you’re a longtime Passholder or newly added to the community, these previews are shaping up to be an unforgettable way to experience Disneyland Paris’s next big chapter! Be sure to reserve your spot soon, and get ready to adventure early. And stay tuned with us right here at DFB, where we’ll continue to share the latest Disney updates, news, changes, and more. 7. It’s time to rev those engines and prepare your stomach, because Flo’s V8 Cafe just got a NEW menu, and we are trying it ALL! Eight new menu items just arrived at this popular Disney California Adventure restaurant, and we grabbed one of each to see if they are worth the money on your next trip. Flo’s V8 Cafe has a new menu! You probably won’t want to read this on an empty stomach, so grab a snack and let’s check out the new menu items! Start your engines! Flo’s V8 Cafe is located in Cars Land in Disney California Adventure. It is inspired by the mom-and-pop diners you can find along Route 66. The restaurant resembles a giant air filter! The dining room is fashioned after a showroom and serves as a museum of artifacts from the legendary race car driver, Doc Hudson. Let’s dig into the new menu items! Flo’s V8 Cafe First up, we have the “Big Dipper” Cheeseburger for $15.99. It is made with a beef patty, American cheese, B&B pickles, and caramelized onions on a toasted bun with pepperoncini cheese sauce. You can choose Cuties Mandarin Oranges or fries as your side. This burger has no right to taste as good as it did. “Big Dipper” Cheeseburger The cheese sauce has a kick and some tang that pair well with the burger. The burger was well-cooked, and we loved the crunch from the B&B pickles. The caramelized onions added a much-needed bit of earthiness to the dish. We definitely think the cheese sauce was the star! It does have a bit of spice, though. We want all our burgers served with gooey cheese sauce from now on! “Big Dipper” Cheeseburger Next up is the Winner’s Circle Chicken and Waffle for $17.49. It is crispy, golden-fried chicken and a buttermilk waffle with whipped butter and maple syrup. If you are looking for chicken and waffles, this will definitely scratch that itch, but it isn’t anything super special. Winner’s Circle Chicken and Waffle The waffle is good, but it is standard for what you will find at most Disneyland quick service spots. The chicken was crispy, and the breading was tasty. However, there just isn’t enough flavor in the dish. We got a subtle kick, but we wish there was a bit more to this dish. It didn’t wow us as much as the other dishes, but it is still tasty and a solid option! Winner’s Circle Chicken and Waffle Moving on to the Tuned-Up Chicken Fenders for $14.49. This is crispy chicken fenders tossed in a choice of sauce. We opted for the teriyaki, but you can also get them with buffalo sauce. Tuned-Up Chicken Fenders We were impressed with how crispy the chicken was, even after being drenched in sauce. The teriyaki sauce was delicious. It had a bit of tang and fruity after-notes. Plus, the sesame seeds added a bit of texture and flavor. Loved the sauce and the chicken’s crispiness! Tuned-Up Chicken Fenders Next, we tried the Fillmore Groovy Greens for $11.99. You can also get the salad with Crispy Chicken Fenders for $14.79. The salad features romaine, kale, bean and corn salad, cucumbers, tomatoes, crispy quinoa, toasted sunflower seeds, and zesty dressing. Y’all, this is our favorite! We might even put this up there as one of our favorite healthy options at Disneyland quick service restaurants. Fillmore Groovy Greens This is a beautiful summer salad. The dressing has a citrus flavor, is light, and helps bring out the flavors of the other toppings. We thought the sunflower seeds and crispy quinoa added a wonderful crunch and earthiness, while the beans helped make this dish feel hearty. The cucumbers, tomatoes, and edamame were fresh. This is a great respite from fatty theme park food, and we love how all the flavors come together! Delicious, and if you are looking for a bit more protein, you can also add chicken fenders to the dish. Fillmore Groovy Greens We also grabbed the Fast Track Loaded Fries for $11.99. This dish is fries topped with hearty chili, pepperoncini cheese sauce, sliced pepperoncini, and diced onions. This comes with the same sauce as the burger, which was a star of that dish. Fast Track Loaded Fries The chili is thick, chunky, hearty, and packed with flavor. The pepperoncinis add a great bit of spice to this dish, along with the cheese sauce. We wish there were a bit more fries, though. The spice is tangy, but not too overpowering. It does linger a bit, so if you don’t like spice at all, you probably won’t like this dish. Fast Track Loaded Fries The last new food item is the Mini Buckwheat Waffles for $8.49. It is two mini buckwheat waffles served with sugar-free syrup. These waffles feature Lightning McQueen, which is super fun for kids (and adults!). Mini Buckwheat Waffles These have a slightly earthy, nutty vanilla flavor. You can tell they aren’t buttermilk waffles, but it isn’t a startling difference. Once you add the syrup, it is even harder to tell they’re not just the classic buttermilk waffles. We think these are a bit overpriced, but it’s also hard to beat waffles as a meal! Mini Buckwheat Waffles Now onto the drinks! We started with the Start Your Engine Cold Brew for $7.29. This drink is Joffrey’s Shakin’ Jamaican Cold Brew with caramel premium syrup, a swirl of caramel, housemade caramel-flavored cream, and a caramel sauce drizzle. Start Your Engine Cold Brew This cold brew is PACKED with caramel flavor! It is very sweet and very caramely. The drink is creamy and has a sweet factor that reminds us of a melted Caramel Frappuccino. If you like sweet and creamy, we think this cold brew is a contender as one of our favorites at Disneyland. Start Your Engine Cold Brew We also got the Stop Sign Cream Soda Pop for $7.79. This is Sprite with housemade strawberry and coconut cream topped with housemade strawberry cream and strawberry-flavored flakes. The drink is well-carbonated and creamy. The cream helps cut through the flavoring and bring some balance to the drink overall. The flakes add an interesting texture, but they tasted too artificial for us. It was a bit messy, but we thought it was a fun cream soda with a lot of foamy texture and strong strawberry flavor. Stop Sign Cream Soda Pop Overall, we are SO excited about the new menu at Flo’s V8 Cafe. The restaurant took a risk, and we think it mostly paid off. The Filmore Groovy Greens easily topped our list as the favorite, but we also really enjoyed all the other offerings. The new menu has some great options, and we think it is definitely worth a stop! New menu items! We are in the Disney parks every single day, and we are always reviewing new food and revisiting restaurants to make sure you always have the most up-to-date information. 8. When we’re in and out of Disney World, one thing that always matters to us is having the perfect bag. Winnie the Pooh There are tons of bags that can fit our qualifications, but none more so than Loungefly mini backpacks! Now, Amazon has an exclusive new bag that we need to add to our collection! It features Pooh Bear and his friends Tigger, Piglet, and Eeyore in a beautiful winter wonderland. They’re sledding through the snow with their scarves and headgear to fight off the cold weather. There are two small side pockets as well that fit our phone nicely for easy access. 9. I go to Disney World ALL. THE. TIME. And that means I interact with Cast Members pretty frequently! Cast Members are the MAGIC! During my face time with Disney’s hard-working employees, I try to be the perfect guest. I offer words of encouragement, follow their directions closely, and occasionally crack a joke to hopefully make their day a little better. Hopefully, all that teacher’s pet behavior makes up for what I’m about to confess…there are some Cast Members I AVOID. The Bathroom Custodial Team First on the list of Cast Members I avoid? The employees who work in the bathrooms after I’ve been in that stall for a little too long, if you know what I mean. I’ve been camped out for 20 minutes, and they know I’ve been camped out for 20 minutes. The last thing I want to do is acknowledge it! Connections restrooms It’s better if we all just keep our dignity intact and avoid eye contact if at all possible. A demure smile, a very thorough hand-washing, and I’m on my way. Hopefully, never to see that Cast Member again. The Guy Who Boards the Transport on Rise of the Resistance Heading over to one of Disney World’s most popular rides for this next one! You know that moment on Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance in Hollywood Studios where a First Order officer boards your transport ship and tells you to get off? Yeah, I want to avoid that guy. He scares me. Rise of the Resistance Somehow, I feel like if he stares at me too long, I might melt right into the floor. All I want is to take a super cool picture of the Stormtrooper room, my dude, and you’re making me nervous. I simply skedaddle past and get on with my capture as smoothly as possible. The PeopleMover Disembarkation Cast Member All I want is to ride the Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover on repeat for an entire day. Is that too much to ask? So, for me personally, I’m hoping that if I look the other way or bat my eyelashes real sweetly, the Cast Member at the end of the ride will just let me keep doing laps. It’s the PeopleMover!! Seriously, enjoying an entire day getting the view of Tomorrowland from above sounds perfect. That is, until it’s time to hop off and go order my favorite treat — a scoop of chocolate ice cream with peanut butter sauce from Plaza Ice Cream Parlor. The Cast Members Who Clear Lands at Holiday Parties For legal reasons, this next one is a JOKE. But you know who I would really love to avoid? Those Cast Members who clear out the daytime guests before Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, Jollywood Nights, and Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. I’m a simple girl who just wants to go to every holiday party of the season without spending a small fortune on tickets. Cast Members at Very Merry For that matter, I would also love to avoid the Cast Members who clear the parks at the end of the night. A night where I have free rein to explore Magic Kingdom with no guests in sight sounds like a dream come true. Disney, could we make that happen?! The Housekeeper on My Last Day The very last thing I want to do on the last day of my Disney World hotel stay is leave, and if there’s one person who’s trying to get me to leave ASAP, it’s the housekeeper assigned to my room. I want every last minute of my time until 11AM, and I don’t want a knock on my door before then! A room at the Polynesian Maybe if I ignore the Cast Member, they won’t make me leave? I seriously doubt that, but it’s what I think about in my dreams…the eternal Disney resort stay! Port Orleans — Riverside Room Alas, I’ll still heed the instructions of these Cast Members because I’m a good Disney World citizen and I want to be allowed to come back. But it’s fun to think about what could be! For more Disney World news, updates, and fun, subscribe to our YouTube channel and newsletter! What Happens When Disney World Cast Members Break the Rules? 10. Look, we love Disney merch as much as the next person. Rapunzel Owala But let’s be real for a second. Some souvenirs have completely gone out of control, and we’re here to talk about it. We’re not saying don’t buy these souvenirs. We’re just saying there are way better options out there that won’t make you question your life choices when you look back at your credit card statement. Skip the Spirit Jersey, Get This Instead Once upon a time, Spirit Jerseys felt special. Spirit Jersey They were comfy, oversized, and kind of magical. Now? They’re everywhere, cost a small fortune, and half the designs look almost identical to ones from a year ago. Paying premium prices for a heavy sweatshirt you can only comfortably wear a few months out (or less if you live somewhere like Florida or Texas) of the year just doesn’t hit like it used to. Instead, we’re loving the Disneyland Athletic Dress for Women. ©Disney This feels like the evolution of Disney park fashion. It’s sporty, sleek, and actually versatile. The fitted black design looks elevated, and the stretchy fabric makes it comfortable enough for long park days. It even has built-in shorts and a bra with padded cups, which honestly feels like a miracle. The Sleeping Beauty Castle silhouette on the front keeps it subtle but unmistakably Disney. You can wear this to the parks, to the gym, running errands, or even out at night. That’s way more mileage than most Spirit Jerseys ever get. Shop on DISNEY STORE Ditch the Starbucks Tumbler, Try This We get it. Disney Starbucks tumblers were once the ultimate flex. Starbucks Tumbler Now they’re mass-produced, often hard to justify price-wise, and somehow still sell out instantly. And let’s face it, there are simply better water bottle options out there. If you actually want a water bottle that works, the Owala Disney Princess FreeSip Water Bottle is a game-changer. We love our Owala water bottle! You can sip through the straw or tilt it back and drink from the wide-mouth opening, which is clutch in the Florida heat. It keeps drinks cold for up to 24 hours, fits in cup holders, and has a locking push-button lid so it won’t leak in your bag. It’s fun, functional, and way more practical than another shelf tumbler you’re afraid to use. Shop on Amazon Pass on the Ears, Get These Magnetic Ones Disney ears used to feel like an easy add-on. Minnie Ears Now they’re expensive, bulky, and half the time they give you a headache by noon. Plus, once you buy them, you’re stuck carrying them around all day. And on top of that, you literally only wear them when you are in the parks! That’s hard to justify when they’re almost $40! That’s why we love this option: Magnetic Mouse Ears for Caps. ©Amazon These are shape-stable, stand upright all day, and attach with strong magnets that won’t damage your hat. You can turn baseball caps, bucket hats, or even berets into instant Disney accessories. They’re easy to remove, don’t leave marks, and open up way more styling options. 11. Not to be weird, but I spend a lot of my time in Disney World bathrooms. Tree of Life When you visit the parks for your job, you’ll inevitably be exposed to a wide variety of public restroom experiences. I’ve been in pristine, clean bathrooms where I could nearly see my reflection in the floor, and I’ve been in bathrooms strewn with toilet paper and plagued by clogged pipes. Not all Disney World restrooms are created equal, that’s for sure. And recently, I took note of a very awkward toilet trouble that I’m hoping Disney fixes in its new land. We’re getting ready to say goodbye to DinoLand, U.S.A., for good in Animal Kingdom, and while I am mourning the loss of my beloved DINOSAUR (and my even more beloved Dr. Grant Seeker), I will not be sad to see the Restaurantosaurus restrooms go after my recent visit there. These bathrooms are located inside Restaurantosaurus, but they have an exterior door that provides easy access for those looking for a restroom in the DINOSAUR area. Restaurantosaurus In the past, I’ve thought of these as a lovely bathroom experience. There are several stalls; they remain relatively clean, and they have the amazing soundtrack of DinoLand, U.S.A.’s radio station. Unfortunately, I’ve now come to realize that they have some of the skimpiest stall doors and walls across Disney World. The outdoor restroom entrance On my last pit stop here, there was a toddler in the stall next to me whose mother was giving a valiant effort to keep the child from crawling on the floor. When looking down to make sure I wasn’t about to get company crawling underneath my stall wall, I realized that said wall only comes about an inch lower than the top of the toilet seat. It’s perfect toddler temptation! Hallway by the bathrooms The door of the stall wasn’t much better — if someone bent down in front of the door to see if there were feet in the stall, they’d likely get a glimpse of my legs all the way to the knees! One wrong move and you could inadvertently expose yourself. The walls and doors were placed so high up that I’m convinced the shortest toddlers could simply bend at the waist and walk right underneath. Entrance from the restaurant side When pondering these thoughts during my bathroom visit, I started praying that Disney choose to fix this issue with the construction of Tropical Americas. The bathrooms will likely get a refresh themed to the new restaurant, and when that happens, I’m BEGGING for more robust privacy. In fact, I would be totally happy if we did full or near-full top-to-bottom walls and doors. I’ve heard that our skimpy stalls are often a source of awkwardness for visitors from overseas (where they have entire bathroom cubicles), and after this visit, I’m on their side. @Disney I know that cleanliness and safety are ultimately good reasons to keep the gap, but if we must, all I ask is that it be lowered to a more demure height. Hear my plea, Disney. A simple wish from a simple girl. 12. Another Annual Passholder magnet is on the way, and this one’s going to go fast! Judy and Nick in Animal Kingdom Zootopia fever is once again sweeping over Disney World. While we’ve been fawning over Disney World’s newest attraction and the smashing success of Zootopia 2, Disney’s been hard at work crafting another Zootopia-inspired surprise, and it’ll be available for a limited time soon! Here’s what you need to know to make sure you don’t miss out. Disney just gave Annual Passholders a paw-some new perk to look forward to! A brand-new Zootopia-themed Annual Passholder magnet is coming to Disney World, and it features fan-favorite duo Nick Wilde and Judy Hopps striking a fun, dance-ready pose. Disney officially revealed the design on social media, and it’s already getting plenty of love from Passholders who can’t wait to add it to their collection. ©Disney The magnet’s playful tagline, “A Magnet to Fauna Over,” perfectly matches the lighthearted energy of the design. Nick and Judy are shown front and center against a purple, party-style backdrop with silhouettes of other Zootopia characters dancing behind them. It’s colorful, charming, and instantly recognizable, making it a must-grab for fans of the movie and longtime Passholders alike. Animal Kingdom Disney has confirmed that the Nick and Judy Passholder magnet will be available at Discovery Trading Company at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. That location has become a familiar magnet pickup spot for recent designs, and it’s an easy stop to work into your park day. Disney World Annual Pass The magnet will be available from February 5th through March 15th during regular park operating hours. As with all Annual Passholder magnets, supplies are limited, so if this one is on your must-have list, it’s a good idea to plan your visit earlier in the distribution window rather than waiting until the last minute. Time to grab some magnets! Good news — this magnet isn’t limited to a specific tier of Passholders! Disney confirmed that all Annual Passholders are eligible to pick it up, whether you’re a “spots” mammal or a “stripes” mammal (yes, that’s a Zootopia joke straight from Disney’s announcement). Just be sure to bring your valid Annual Pass and photo ID to receive your magnet. We love the animatronic in Zootopia Better Zoogether! While you’re there to snag your magnet, Disney is also encouraging guests to check out even more Zootopia-themed experiences at Animal Kingdom. Don’t miss the new 4D show, Zootopia: Better Zoogether!, which brings Nick, Judy, and the rest of the crew to life in a fun, immersive way. You can also round out your visit with a Nick and Judy character greeting, making it a perfect day for Zootopia fans. Zootopia: Better Zoogether! Lightning Lane Between the adorable design, availability window, and all-tiers eligibility, this new Zootopia Annual Passholder magnet is shaping up to be one of the most popular releases yet. If you’re a Passholder planning a visit between February 5th and March 15th, make sure to add this stop to pick up your magnet to your Animal Kingdom to-do list, as this is one you won’t want to miss! 14. The Epcot International Festival of the Arts has burst back onto the scene at Walt Disney World. The event has many of the same artsy attractions as in previous years, but on opening weekend we spotted tweaks and updates whilst making the rounds. Here are a few things to look for at the festival, which runs daily at the theme park through Feb. 23. Living large lamp There’s something new and big and shiny outside one of the entrances to Once Upon a Stage: The Magic of Disney on Broadway exhibit. And folks are rubbing it in anticipation of wishes. It’s a large, golden lamp a la “Aladdin.” The sign says it’s 14 feet tall, weighs 1,200 pounds and once sat on the marquee of the New Amsterdam Theatre in New York City. It was made as part of the stage show’s 10th anniversary. “It is an exact replica of the small prop used in the show, all the way down to the intricate pattern carvings,” the sign reads. Costumes for Belle in 'Beauty and the Beast' are on display at the 'Once Upon a Stage: The Magic of Disney on Broadway' exhibit, a part of the Epcot International Festival of the Arts. (Dewayne Bevil/Orlando Sentinel) Inside the exhibit, which demonstrates another floor plan for CommuniCore Hall, the standout items may be three bright ball gowns for Belle from “Beauty and the Beast” and a collection of puppet/costumes for “The Lion King.” The space also now includes some demonstrations of how behind the scenes elements – such as lighting effects and queues – are pulled off on stage. Playing their cards, right? Sure enough, visitors are participating in Disney Lorcana, the collectible card game, across the park. The Epcot fest has incorporated it into a form of scavenger hunt, and players also gathered in the Illumineer’s Lounge, now set up in a former restaurant in the rear of the Morocco pavilion. A new Artful Photo Ops, inspired by the DIsney Lorcana collectible card game, is on the bridge to World Showcase during the Epcot International Festival of the Arts. (Dewayne Bevil/Orlando Sentinel) A scene from the game has been converted into one of the fest’s Artful Photo Ops. The new set, located on the bridge to World Showcase, shows Mickey (brave – and kissed – little prince), and Minnie (as sweetheart princess) on carousel horses, a look from iconic “Fabled” collection. For what it’s worth, the line to claim scavenger hunt prizes inside Odyssey was longer than the Figment popcorn container pick-up queue. Dragon show Not that you should feel bad for Figment. The dragon dude is everywhere at Epcot and all over the souvenir merchandise, including apparel, backpacks and drinking vessels. His popcorn bucket features Figment as an artist: beret, big poofy tie, paint brushes with rainbow colored popcorn. To be fair, the line is shorter than in the early fest days as it can now be ordered through the My Disney Experience app instead of queuing up. The price is $29. Figment-shaped popcorn containers are again available for purchase during the Epcot International Festival of the Arts. (Dewayne Bevil/Orlando Sentinel) Eye-catching eats Buzzy foods around the lagoon include the popcorn and popcorn chicken and waffles from Figment’s Inspiration Station (very colorful, great in-hand photo op), dark chocolate torte (from Artist’s Table at American Adventure (so warm and comforting on a cool day) and roasted bone marrow sold at Gourmet Landscapes at Canada pavilion (it’s big boned). Another development: all festival kiosks are cashless purchases now. This is a trend that has been seeping across Walt Disney World and other eateries. Visitors who don’t want to make multiple swipes on credit or debit cards can opt for purchases via Disney gift cards. Choice voices The Disney on Broadway concert series continues with three performances daily. Coming up on the schedule are “Aladdin” stars Adam Jacobs and Isabelle McCalla (Jan. 22, 24, 26, 27) plus Sierra Boggess (“The Little Mermaid”) and Jelani Remy (“The Lion King”) on Jan. 21, 23, 25, 28, 29). Showtimes are 5:30 p.m., 6:45 p.m. and 8 p.m. at America Gardens Theatre. The festival is included with regular Epcot admission, with food available for purchase. dbevil@orlandosentinel.com View the full article

  17. It’s finally happening — one of Disney World’s most beloved tea experiences is coming back. ©Disney After being closed for years the Garden View Lounge at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort is FINALLY reopening with an all-new tea experience, and Disney has just shared our first real look at what’s coming! Now that most of the hotel’s lobby transformation is complete including the addition of a swanky bar, this latest chapter will be the final piece we’ve been eagerly waiting on while it undergoes its full transformation. From whimsical menu items to elegant updates to the space, here’s everything we know so far. After more than five years of remaining closed, the beloved Garden View Lounge (formerly known as the Garden View Tea Room) is finally set to reopen at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort with an elegant new tea experience that blends Victorian charm with whimsical Disney touches. The lounge, which had been shuttered since the pandemic began in 2020, will begin welcoming guests again on March 19th with reservations opening a month earlier on February 19th. ©Disney Part of the extensive lobby refresh at the Grand Floridian, the renewed space has been redesigned to complement the resort’s updated aesthetic while preserving the gracious atmosphere longtime Disney guests remember. Floor-to-ceiling windows overlook the resort’s gardens, and the new decor incorporates subtle nods to the Main Street U.S.A. elegance and refined Victorian sensibilities that make the Grand Floridian one of Walt Disney World’s most iconic resort hotels. ©Disney The new tea service isn’t just a resurrected classic, it’s been reimagined as a fully immersive culinary experience with something for everyone. Drawing inspiration from Alice in Wonderland, the tea experience blends Disney storytelling with the refined traditions of afternoon tea. You’ll begin by selecting from a curated lineup of premium loose-leaf Twinings teas, and additional offerings will include traditional favorites like London Strand Breakfast and Spicy Chai, alongside more inventive blends like Orangery of Lady Grey, a bright, fruity tea exclusive to Disney World Resort as well as Nutty Chocolate Flavored Assam, which pairs rich roasted hazelnut and chocolate notes for an indulgent twist. ©Disney You’ll then work alongside with your expert tea guide to personalize your selections with aromatic additions during the steeping process and optional sweeteners. The beverage lineup extends beyond classic tea, too, with signature tea-based cocktails like the Mint Tulip (featuring Kentucky Straight Whiskey, peach mango tea, and mint) and the Mar-TEA-ni (a gin- and Earl Grey-based cocktail with lemon and honey). Non-alcoholic specialty teas such as the Curiosi-TEA and This Way, That Way round out the menu, along with champagne and sparkling wines for those who want to toast the occasion. ©Disney What truly elevates this tea experience is the multi-tiered culinary presentation that accompanies it, a hallmark of traditional afternoon tea. Disney’s giving us a sneak peek at a few of the foods you’ll expect to find here including an Orange-Cranberry Scone with all the classic accompaniments and a three-tiered tower of savory and sweet creations. Savory offerings include inventive bites like the Curried Chicken Salad Playing Card Tart and Footman’s Feast salmon crisp, as well as classic selections such as the Tweedledee Egg Salad Sandwich and Caterpillar Cucumber Roll with butterfly-pea-infused cream cheese. ©Disney Desserts show equal creativity, with playful items like the Matcha Mad Hatter sponge cake, the Tea Party Tart with vanilla and coffee custard, the passion-fruit-filled Flamingo Croquet Choux, and the Painting the Rose Earl Grey-infused tea cake painted tableside for a sprinkle of Disney theater. For plant-based diners, there are also dedicated tea selections available, ensuring the experience feels inclusive and thoughtful for a range of dietary preferences. Enhancements including a Seasonal Cheese Selection or Royal Osetra Caviar with Mini Chive Biscuits, can be added on to elevate the experience even further, perfect for special occasions or guests looking to indulge. ©Disney Disney’s also making sure the little ones aren’t left out either! The Children’s Afternoon Tea menu features whimsical, kid-friendly bites like a Queen of Hearts Cheese Toastie, a Fanciful Turkey Wrap, and a Sunflower Seed Butter & Jelly Bun. Desserts include a Cheshire Cat Raspberry Macaron, a Chocolate Brownie Branch, and a Vanilla White Rabbit Cupcake, delightful touches that bring playful character theming to the tea table. ©Disney For those who remember the original Garden View Tea Room (known for its classic British style and afternoon tea service) this reopening is a nostalgic moment. Past iterations offered tiered treats, finger sandwiches, scones with Devonshire cream, and desserts alongside a curated tea selection, but the refreshed space and themed menu bring a new layer of storytelling and creativity that feels both elegant and playful. ©Disney Even before its pandemic closure, the experience was considered a special occasion stop for many Disney visitors. Now, with its updated design and expanded offerings, the Garden View Lounge’s return feels like both a celebration of tradition and a chance to create new memories, whether you’re indulging in a sophisticated afternoon with friends or introducing younger generations to the wonder of tea service Disney-style. 21. When it comes to Walt Disney World early risers — those who eschew sleeping in for rope dropping parks to begin experiencing the magic as early as possible– there are certain habits that they stick with to make their early mornings go as smoothly as possible. Early entry sign! There are some relatively obvious ways to ensure you’re ready to get out to the parks ASAP in the morning, like packing your park bag and having your outfit ready and laid out the night before. However, some tips are a bit more under the radar. In-Room Breakfast So, if your mission is to rope drop a Disney park (with Disney hotel guest Early Entry, of course), we’d probably recommend not stopping at your hotel’s food court for breakfast. However, that’s not to say skip the first meal of the day. You’ll probably need to skip this kind of breakfast There are two breakfast options to speed up the process. First, you can have items in your room — like cereal, pastries, muffins, etc. — that you brought from home or picked up the night before that you can eat along with the coffee provided in each hotel room. Coffee maker We like to grab something in the parks from somewhere like Le Halles or Gaston’s, so we have something nice and exciting to eat in the parks the next morning. I mean, who doesn’t love a morning croissant, baguette, or beignet? Look at this thing! Now, we can totally understand if you’re not willing to give up a fresh breakfast for something from the night before. If that’s not up your alley, there is another way: Mobile Order If you want something in the park, you can set up a mobile order while rope dropping to pick quickly and lose as little park time as possible. Mobile Order We can say from experience that mobile ordering this way will make grabbing food in the park much smoother, and at the same time can fulfill that desire for a fresh breakfast, while not encroaching on precious early morning park time! Honey Butter Chicken Biscuit Breakfast Sandwich at Golden Oak Outpost Multi Task While waiting to enter the park, take the time to apply sunscreen, stretch, double-check Lightning Lanes and dining reservations, and anything else you can do to knock off the list before entering the park. Getting all of these must-do tasks out of the way means fewer stops once you’re inside, and more time to get to whatever ride you want to rope drop. Rope Drop at Hollywood Studios Rope Dropping Animal Kingdom Remember to check park hours as well. Case in point, Animal Kingdom opens at 8:00 AM most days, with Early Entry for hotel guests at 7:30 AM. So, if your goal is to rope drop and get to Flight of Passage as early as possible, be sure to keep that in mind. Animal Kingdom Morning Crowds We will say this, though: Seeing the animals on Kilimanjaro Safaris in the early morning hours is one of the most unique experiences at Walt Disney World, and one that’s definitely worth walking up early for. Tucker on Kilimanjaro Safaris! If you’re planning to be a Disney morning person on your next trip, be sure to keep these habits in mind to make the best of your early wake-up. 22. I’ve got some tea-riffic news! My fellow tea lovers, I hope you’re ready for this exciting announcement. The Garden View Lounge – Tea Experience will be opening its doors once again at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa to bring guests on a whimsical afternoon tea extravaganza starting March 19, with reservations opening on February 19. With new touches from the Walt Disney Animation Studios film Alice in Wonderland, you will have an unforgettable experience. From small bites, both sweet and savory, to a selection of teas, you’ll be on quite the journey with each sip and bite amongst the elegance of this beloved location, now with a whimsical touch. There are options for both adults and the little ones, making this an outing the whole family can enjoy together. Our beverage and culinary experts have gone down the rabbit hole and are ready for you to join them with this lineup of flavors. And I’ve got an exclusive first look at the menu for you. Beverages Let’s begin our adventure with the beverages, shall we? The first step of this experience, or should I say sip, includes the tea selection. We’ve worked with Twinings to hand-select premium tea blends that offer something for everyone. Delight in the Twinings Loose Leaf Tea Selections, including special flavors and classics like London Strand Breakfast and Spicy Chai, as well as more unique flavor combinations like Orangery of Lady Grey, which is a unique black tea featuring bright, orange notes that is exclusive to the Walt Disney World Resort. The Nutty Chocolate Flavoured Assam black tea is a must-try with smooth chocolate and roasted hazelnut flavors and if you are looking for something caffeine-free, enjoy the Blackcurrant and Lavender herbal tea. After selecting your tea with the guidance of expertly trained cast members who serve as your own tea guide, you’ll be able to create a tea that is customized for you. Next, you’ll choose an aromatic designed to accompany the tea which is added during the steeping process. And feel free to add some extra sweetness. We don’t judge here. And that’s not all. There are also two signature tea-based cocktails – the Mint Tulip featuring Old Forester 1870 Original Batch Kentucky Straight Whiskey, Twinings Refreshers Peach Mango Tea Instant Beverage, and mint, and the Mar-TEA-ni with Drumshanbo Gunpowder Irish Gin, Twinings Earl Grey Tea, lemon, and honey. Visitors can also enjoy non-alcoholic specialty teas – the Curiosi-TEA with Twinings Refreshers Strawberry Raspberry Herbal Tea Instant Beverage with a touch of shimmering magic, and the This Way, That Way with Twinings Refreshers Peach Mango Tea Herbal Tea Instant Beverage and mint. Did I mention there’s also champagne and sparkling wines? Food Items We’re late! We’re late! For a very important plate! The culinary creations bring to life the ultimate afternoon tea experience. Before getting to the tea tower of treats (yes – you read that right), your taste buds will be delighted with the Orange-Cranberry Scone with traditional accoutrements. Now for the three-tiers of food. The savory selections include: Curried Chicken Salad Playing Card Tart: Savory curried chicken salad filling topped with cherry gelée Footman’s Feast: Wonderland Salmon Crisp with a salmon rillette on a miso brown butter crisp Tweedledee Egg Salad Sandwich: A traditional egg salad on beet bread Caterpillar Cucumber Roll: A delicious combination with butterfly pea-infused cream cheese and cucumbers on pumpernickel Then, enjoy a sweet finish with the following: The Matcha Mad Hatter: Sponge cake with apricot jam and yuzu buttercream Tea Party Tart: Vanilla tart, coffee custard, and chantilly cream Flamingo Croquet Choux filled with passion fruit cream and a raspberry crunch Painting the Rose: Earl Grey-flavored teacake painted tableside And for those looking for plant-based options, there’s also an afternoon tea selection for you too. For some added delights, there are also enhancements you can indulge in – the Seasonal Cheese Selection or Royal Osetra Caviar with Mini Chive Biscuits and Traditional Accompaniments. For the little ones, the Children’s Afternoon Tea features adorably delicious bites, including savory minis like the Queen of Hearts Cheese Toastie, a Fanciful Turkey Wrap, and a Sunflower Seed Butter and Jelly Bun. For dessert, we have the Cheshire Cat Raspberry Macaron, the Chocolate Brownie Branch, and don’t be late for the vanilla White Rabbit Cupcake.
