If you’ve had a chance to visit the Disneyland Resort during Halloween Time, it’s not hard to miss the giant Mickey Mouse jack-o’-lantern on Main Street, U.S.A in Disneyland park or the eerie Headless Horseman on Buena Vista Street in Disney California Adventure park. However, what you may not have noticed at first glance is the fine detailed décor prepared by our resort enhancement team. While working the graveyard shift, these talented tricksters transform all of the window displays along both streets into spooky Halloween-themed scenes. The team is also responsible for enhancing many of the restaurants and shops at the Disneyland Resort with touches of the seasonal spirit. DEVELOPING STORY. RETURN FOR MORE UPDATES THROUGHOUT THE DAY. Today and yesterday, we have been following a developing story across Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resort. The topic? Price hikes to Disney food and beverage items around both properties. These price changes, as it turns out, have also affected some food and beverage items at the 2018 Epcot Food and Wine Festival Food Booths….in the middle of the festival. (???) 2017 Epcot Food and Wine For example, Refreshment Port‘s food and beverage offerings now show pricing up to $1.00 more than it was at the beginning of the Epcot Food and Wine Festival on nearly every single item. Refreshment Port October 2018 Menu Refreshment Port October 2018 Epcot Food and Wine Festival Menu Get ready to pay more for your Poutine at Refreshment Port. Elsewhere, we’re seeing price increases mostly on beverages. At the Craft Drafts area of the Festival Center, we saw prices on all beers go up by $.25, and flights went up by $.50. The same price increases are in effect at the Light Lab booth. New Craft Drafts Menu with price increases The price also went up on Dasani bottled water from $3.00 to $3.50 on all Epcot Food and Wine Festival menus (and throughout the Resort itself). History was made when Be Our Guest Restaurant was the first table service restaurant in Magic Kingdom to serve alcohol. (Magic Kingdom was previously a dry park.) Since that time, alcohol service has expanded to table service restaurants throughout Magic Kingdom. Be Our Guest Restaurant It is important to note, though, that alcohol was served at Be Our Guest only during dinner. Just in time for the Halloween season, Vampirina has joined the breakfast fun at Disney Junior Play ‘n Dine at Hollywood & Vine. This Disney’s Hollywood Studios spot is the place to eat, play and laugh along with favorite Disney Junior friends including Sofia the First, Doc McStuffins and Roadster Racer Goofy. Vampirina (aka “Vee”) is the star of the hit Disney Junior series, “Vampirina,” which blends spooky fun, heartfelt storytelling and Broadway-caliber music in stories that follow Vee as she faces the joys and trials of being the new kid in town after her family moves from Transylvania to Pennsylvania, including making friends and attending a new school in the human world. Well, in case you missed it… a substantial increase in price for food and beverage items was noticed all over Disney World yesterday. And today, we have news that similar price increases have come to Disneyland Resort as well. Award Wieners With thanks to Instagram friend rgrrabbit1, we have the following example: A regular Fountain Beverage at Disneyland Resort is now $3.99 (up from $3.59 just this past Sunday) and a large Fountain Beverage is $4.19 (up from $3.99). Fall is officially here and while someone might want to get Mother Nature a pumpkin spice latte and kindly ask her to turn down the heat, Halloween is near and one thing is clear: I can’t wait! At home, I’m dreaming about the perfect costume for my 16-month old son (any suggestions?) and at work, I’m rounding up details on all the not-to-be-missed Halloween fun taking place at Disney Springs this month. While candy and costumes are part of the mix, there’s so much more to enjoy this season, including a one-night only event that celebrates the 25th Anniversary of one of the most beloved Halloween – or is it Christmas? – movies of all time. Read on for more … “Treat” yourself to tickets to A Halloween Soiree at The Edison, celebrating the 25th anniversary of “Disney Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas.” Expect plenty of themed costumes and a ghoulishly good time during this frightfully-festive event that pays homage to the Tim Burton classic. The Salt and Straw ice cream moment we’ve all been waiting for at Disneyland Resort’s Downtown Disney is coming soon! Salt & Straw Containers Salt & Straw, which announced it was opening a Downtown Disney location way back in April, will throw open its doors very soon, welcoming all who love small-batch ice cream in fabulously unique flavors like Honey Lavender and Black Olive Brittle & Goat Cheese. Our own Disneyland correspondent Heather (check her @DiningInDisney!) was sent some yummy Salt & Straw flavors so she could get a sneak peek and share with you what’s in store for visitors to the Disneyland location. Heads up, all! Big news today on the Disney price increase front: there seems to be a price hike to fountain beverages around Disney World counter service locations. Casey’s Corner in Magic Kingdom JUST yesterday during our visit to Magic Kingdom (October 1st), the standard price for a regular Fountain Beverage was $3.29. However, today (October 2nd), DFB reader Shelley C. reported that she was seeing the price listed for regular sized Fountain Beverages as $3.99. In taking a peek around Mobile Order menus on the My Disney Experience app, this does indeed appear to be the case in several locations. A quick search around reveals the $3.99 price tag for Fountain Beverages at Casey’s Corner, Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Cafe, and Columbia Harbour House. Mobile Order Screenshot No pun intended, but.. GULP! That’s a pretty significant increase, don’t you think? We are unaware if this pricing might be seasonal, whether it is in every park quick service location at this time, or whether this pricing expands to Resort Counter Service locations. And just last week, new locations at Disneyland park – Edelweiss Snacks, Stage Door Café, Refreshment Corner and Royal Street Veranda – were added to the lineup, which now includes more than 20 participating locations! Mobile ordering makes it easier than ever for guests to order, pay and pick up fresh food while spending a day at the parks. All you need is your phone and the Disneyland app, and you can place and order anywhere at Disneyland Resort! Whether you’re strolling down Main Street, U.S.A., or waiting to hop on Haunted Mansion Holiday, mobile order makes it easy to plan ahead, save time and make the most out of your day. The sweeping refurbishment of the dining options at Caribbean Beach Resort looks to be reaching completion very soon. Sebastian’s Bistro is replacing the former Shutters as the Resort’s table service option, and Advance Dining Reservations for this new dining spot are now bookable via the Walt Disney World website! Sebastian’s Bistro Logo ©Disney Guests can now book Sebastian’s Bistro for lunch and dinner for dates starting October 8th. And we’ve also got some more scoop to share about the menu for the Bistro’s Latin and Caribbean-inspired cuisine! Options for starters will include Caribbean Pull-Apart Rolls (served with guava butter, mango chutney, and Jamaican jerk oil), Jamaican Meat Pies with Guajillo chili sauce, or Arepa with slow-cooked pork and chili-mango barbecue sauce. If you love food and fun (and who doesn’t?), this fall is a terrific time to visit the Downtown Disney District at the Disneyland Resort. The wildly popular Earl of Sandwich is now open for breakfast, lunch and dinner in its original location, serving their famous, freshly-made sandwiches, salads and wraps. Try the Original 1762 or the Full Montagu — both sandwiches which give nods to John Montagu, the Earl who invented the sandwich in 1762. Also, every afternoon beginning at 3 p.m., a stop at the food trucks in Downtown Disney is a must!
