The 2018 Epcot Food and Wine Festival is happening now through November 12 celebrating food and wine (and more) from around the world. And, there’s another foodie celebration hosted by the Waldorf Astoria Orlando and Hilton Bonnet Creek that is meant to complement and enhance your Epcot Food and Wine Festival experience — the Food & Wine Weekends at the Waldorf Astoria Orlando. Food and Wine Weekends The Food & Wine Weekends at the Waldorf Astoria features a selection of tasting events highlighting dishes from the hotel’s signature restaurants along with their master mixology team and pastry team. Let’s check out some of the goodies. We tasted and sipped our way around several tasting stations featuring dishes from The Taste of Bull and Bear, The Taste of La Luce, The Taste of Zeta Asia, Cocktail Creations, Bar Du Chocolate, and Pop Culture. Eats at Food & Wine Weekends The Taste of Bull and Bear menu featured a Roasted Sunchoke Cappuccino — essentially, soup served in a cappuccino cup. Roasted Sunchoke Cappucino The soup had a strong truffle flavor and a silky, velvety texture. If you enjoy truffles this is your kind of soup. The other item from the Taste of Bull and Bear was a Petite Filet of Beef and Stuffed Lobster Tail. Petite Filet of Beef and Stuffed Lobster Tail The Stuffed Lobster Tail was the standout element in this dish. It was — surprisingly — stuffed with lobster roe and a specialized ham, giving it a unique and unexpected flavor. Stuffed Lobster Tail We also sampled dishes from the Taste of Zeta Asia, including the Kanji Signature Roll made with Spicy Salmon, Cucumber, Avocado, Tobiko, Sriracha, and Micro Cilantor; and the Mount Fuji Signature Roll made with Crab Salad, Cucumber, Tuna, Yellowtail, Salmon, Wasabi Mayo, Tobiko, and Micro Cilantro. Kanji Signature Roll and Mount Fuji Signature Roll The rolls were full of fresh flavors and also were also quite beautiful. The Short Rib Bibimbap features Short Rib, Fried Egg, Blanched Spinach, Namul, Japanese Rice, and Gochujang Sauce, and was a dish of complex and unique flavors. Short Rib Bibimbap We also stopped by the Taste of La Luce station, and enjoyed two wonderful Italian dishes. First up was the Lasagna Napolinata featuring Mozzarella di Bufala, Tomato, and Basil. Lasagna We also enjoyed the Risotto Duo Di Mare featuring Shrimp, Scallops, English Peas, Oven Roasted Tomato, and Reggiano Gremolata. Risotto Duo di Mare The Cocktail Creations station was one of our favorite spots to visit during the event. Justin, one of the mixology experts, was very animated and interactive as he created our drink! Cocktail Creations Station The drink creation was The Manifesto, which is a mixture of Rye Whiskey, Gin, Pineapple Juice, and Chili Bitters poured over a coffee ice cube and topped with edible flowers. Before pouring the drink, the glass was sprayed with fresh rose water. The Manifesto The Manifesto was a very complex drink that is sweet and spiced without being too spicy. There was amazing detail put into the presentation of the drink, including a printed out and rolled up manifesto served on each cocktail. A manifesto served with The Manifesto Two of the Food & Wine Weekends experiences are La Patisserie: A Master Pastry Class and Bar Du Chocolate and Champagne Tasting. At this event they were highlighted at the same table with a huge array of sweets. La Patisserie and Bar Du Chocolate We asked one of the pastry chefs what she would recommend and she gave us three options. La Patisserie and Bar Du Chocolate Desserts First, a Giant Ferrero Rocher, in gold wrapping. Giant Ferrero Rocher Here it is unwrapped. Giant Ferrero Rocher, unwrapped Next, the Chocolate Cream Puff. Chocolate Cream Puff Dessert And finally, our favorite dessert of the evening, the Tangerine Dessert. Tangerine Dessert The Tangerine Dessert tasted like a silky tangerine creamsicle. All three desserts were incredible, but the Tangerine Dessert was our favorite, hands down. Another fun sweets station was the Pop Culture station, which invited guests to try homemade fresh fruit popsicles, creamy organic ice pops, and adult poptails! Pop Culture Station The station featured oversized martini glasses filled with gourmet toppings including hand-dipped chocolates, coconut, caramelized almonds, and more. Making a Pop Culture creation! The popsicles and ice pops were dipped into the toppings of your choice. A fun and sweet way to end the evening! The 8th Annual Food & Wine Weekends at the Waldorf Astoria Orlando are an elegant and delicious component to add to your Epcot Food and Wine Festival experience. The event happens every weekend through November 11. More information on the weekends and reservations for the different events can be found at the Waldorf Astoria website. Are you more than ready to board the Millennium Falcon at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge? Though you’ll have to wait a little while longer for when this new land opens in Disneyland next summer and Hollywood Studios in late fall 2019, more details have been revealed regarding what we can expect from the highly anticipated Millennium Falcon attraction! Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge Concept Art CinemaBlend.com has shared information from the special features on select versions of the Blu-Ray of Solo: A Star Wars Story. In the extra features, Walt Disney Imagineering Creative Executive Scott Trowbridge shares some really fun scoop regarding how your time on the Millennium Falcon will directly affect your further adventures in the land! Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge Concept Art “If you bring back all the loot and there’s not a scratch on the ship and Hondo [from Star Wars Rebels] is really happy when you bring it back, you might find yourself with some extra Galactic Credits in your account. But do a poor job, you lose the cargo, you smash up the ship, you might come back owing more money than you started with, the bossman might not be too happy. And when you roll across to the local cantina the bartender might lean over and say ‘hey, word on the street is your name’s been put on the list of a local bounty hunter; I’d watch out if I were you’ so how well you do on this mission really does have an impact on your overall, land-wide story.” Woah. That’s some serious RFID following. Oga’s Cantina Concept Art ©Disney The interactive nature of this experience will deliver an aspect unique to Galaxy’s Edge in that the guest’s own story and experience on the planet of Batuu will be directly tied to how they perform their duties on their mission on the attraction, as it will “follow” them, in a sense, around various parts of the land. Star Wars Concept Model Additional revealed details, according to CinemaBlend, include guest roles within the Millennium Falcon. Six guests will participate in each ride vehicle with varying duties from piloting the ship, handling weapons, and overseeing engineering issues. With all this new information, I’m inspired to paraphrase Han himself and say… I’ve got a good feeling about this. How about you? Visit our Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge Page for more information on Galaxy’s Edge! Source: CinemaBlend.com Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge is the most highly anticipated among LOTS of changes taking place in Disney World over the next few years. Last night, we hosted 300 fans at the Disney Parks Blog Halloween Meet-Up at Disneyland park! The meet-up included a delightfully eerie Halloween party set along the shores of Rivers of America. Spooky decor set the festive tone for the evening. The Halloween-themed fête featured an array of creep-tastic entertainment. The scare-olers roamed the party, while an artist showed off her creative pumpkin carving talents. No party would be complete without plenty of photo opps! Jack Skellington and Sally even made a grand entrance and greeted guests throughout the evening. Guests were also treated to some Halloween-themed bites. I heard that the Black Rose Dessert (which can be found at Red Rose Taverne in Disneyland park) was a favorite! Following the party, guests materialized in New Orleans Square for a special after-hours ride through Haunted Mansion Holiday – a beloved tradition during Halloween Time at the Disneyland Resort! Earlier this month, I shared some of my favorite ways to celebrate your favorite princess at Disney Springs. Over the weekend, nearly a dozen young girls visited the property and had the chance to experience the magic firsthand. I was thrilled to be part of it! What I loved most about the day was seeing the little girls so happy in their favorite princess dresses and hearing how Disney Princesses have inspired them to be adventurous, pursue their passions, and follow their dreams. They used adjectives like, “smart, brave and kind” to describe their favorite Disney heroines, and it was clear those words described the group, and their moms and dads, too. Not only did they get transformed at Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, but they also enjoyed watching Disney’s “Princess and the Frog” at AMC Theatre as part of a limited-engagement princess Movie Marathon now through Oct. 18. Check out the video below to catch a glimpse of their inspiring day, perfectly timed to help celebrate the latest “Dream Big, Princess” campaign that aims to empower the next generation to aim high and follow their dreams. Keep an eye on the Disney Princess social media handles, where a series of inspiring videos will debut just in time for “International Day of the Girl” on October 11, 2018. (The best part? Disney Worldwide Services will donate $1 to the United Nations’ “Girl Up” Initiative for every like or share of a video or photo with the tag #DreamBigPrincess on Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter from October 10 through November 20, 2018 – up to $1 million in support of girls’ leadership and empowerment.) Which Disney Princess inspires you most? Share in the comments below, I’d love to know! View the full article

Caramel is one of those flavors of fall, and Karamell-Küche in Epcot’s Germany Pavilion is celebrating fall with some new Caramel Squares! Karamell-Küche Coconut Caramel Square The two new squares we found, and just had to try, are Coconut Caramel and Caramel Macchiato. After making the difficult decision of which one to try first we gave these perfect looking squares a taste. Karamell-Küche Coconut Caramel and Caramel Macchiato Squares First up was the Coconut Caramel Square. Don’t be fooled by first impressions — it may look like there are only a few pieces of coconut on top of the square, but this is loaded with coconut throughout the entire piece! Karamell-Küche Coconut Caramel Square This was delicious! We love coconut and the combination of the chewy, soft caramel and the coconut flavor was perfect. If coconut isn’t your favorite flavor you might not like this as much as we did since the coconut flavor is strong! Karamell-Küche Coconut Caramel Square Next up was the Caramel Macchiato Square. This seems like such a natural flavor combination — and look at that ribbon of caramel on top! Karamell-Küche Caramel Macchiato Square To sum this up in one word: YUM. Soft, chewy caramel, espresso, then more caramel. But, another heads up on flavor — the espresso flavor is strong in this little square, so if you’re not a coffee lover you’ll want to pick a different flavor, or the plain Caramel Square. The Caramel, Coconut Caramel, and Caramel Macchiato Squares are $3.99 each and Disney Dining Plan snack credit eligible. Karamell-Küche Caramel Squares For those of you who like some chocolate with your caramel (who doesn’t) you can also pick up our long-time favorites — a Dark or Milk Chocolate Covered Caramel with Sea Salt Square, a Milk Chocolate Covered Toffee Square, a Chocolate Covered Caramel Square, or the Dark Chocolate Covered Coconut Caramel Square. These Chocolate Covered Caramel Squares are also $3.99 each and Disney Dining Plan snack credit eligible. Karamell-Küche Caramel Squares Karamell-Küche Caramel Squares If you don’t want to wait in Karamell-Küche‘s line, but still want to take some caramel goodness home with you, be sure to check out the prepackaged soft caramels available in fall flavors Caramel Apple and Pumpkin Spice. Returning for its third year, participants from around the world joined for the 2018 Disneyland Paris Magic Run Weekend for a wicked weekend celebration of the Disney Villains. With three race events and three challenges, the weekend was filled with creative costumes, fun characters and entertainment, making for another unforgettable experience! Pain and Panic joined their leader Hades in taking over the Disneyland Paris 10K as runners made their way for 6.2 miles through the Disneyland Paris Resort. Finishing off the weekend, runners in the Disneyland Paris-Val d’Europe Half Marathon made their way through the theme parks and the picturesque French countryside to complete their 13.1-mile adventure. A big felicitations to participants who took on one or more of the three exciting race challenges, including the 31K Challenge and the debut of the 36K Challenge where runners completed all three events for a total of 22.4 miles.
