Get yer lasso’s ready, cowpokes, because I’ve got some rootin’ tootin’ news for ya! There’s a brand-new table-service restaurant coming to Toy Story Land at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Upon entering Andy’s back yard, guests are magically transformed to the size of a toy, surrounded by toys and playsets scattered throughout the area. And soon, guests will discover that a new play area has been set up – and this time, it’s a rodeo! But of course, being Andy, it certainly isn’t your usual rodeo… Using three cardboard boxes cut and taped together, Andy has created a new rodeo arena using some of his favorite toys, games, and play sets. And while some pieces are definitely western-themed, what makes this rodeo special is the broad assortment of toys that have been brought together to create a fun, colorful mashup-atmosphere that only a child could create. Once inside, you’ll be surrounded by all of the rodeo festivities in-action as well as western town and train station play sets. And you just might spot some of your favorite Disney•Pixar characters scattered throughout the restaurant in the form of toys and game pieces including a toy version of Jessie riding on the back of a Trixie pull-toy and unique toy versions of Bo Peep and her sheep, all who appear to be performing in the rodeo together. This immersive restaurant will surround guests with a kaleidoscope of toys, games, and playsets, providing yet another unique, fun, family-friendly dining experience that could only be had in Toy Story Land. Be sure to stay tuned to the Disney Parks Blog for more news on this yummy rodeo-themed restaurant. And in the meantime, be sure to check out Woody’s Lunch Box for delicious sandwiches, Lunch Box Tarts, and more! For more information on Woody’s Lunch Box and all that Toy Story Land has to offer, visit the Walt Disney World Resort website. View the full article

Today, my friends… we made it behind THIS Wall. Entrance to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in Hollywood Studios THIS is the entrance to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in Disney’s Hollywood Studios!!! As guests at a special Walt Disney World media event, we were able to enter the land which will open to guests on August 29, 2019! Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge — LIVE YOUR ADVENTURE! Though pictures were, understandably, not permitted, we’d love to share our thoughts about our very first steps on the planet Batuu… Black Spire Outpost on Batuu ©Disney/Lucasfilm Our very first thought? WOW, you guys… IT’S GOING TO BE INCREDIBLE. Our group entered by the Grand Avenue entrance and directly into the outskirts of the village that makes up Black Spire Outpost. Galaxy’s Edge Concept Art We were surrounded by rock walls, but also plants and vegetation as you’ll find on Batuu. Lanterns have been installed and they are insanely well themed — they are tall and green, but the main impression is that they look like they are hundreds of years old. Galaxy’s Edge Concept Art ©Disney/Lucasfilm After walking in, to the left was Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance — the attraction which will open later this year in a second phase opening (Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run will open on Day One — August 29th — with the rest of the land.) Rise of the Resistance is going to be MASSIVE. The best words to describe it might be that it was like walking in front of an IMAX screen, it’s just HUGE. Concept Art Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance ©Disney We also got to check out some of those famous Disney details… we spotted LOTS of footprints near the entrance belonging to a creature on Batuu (the prints were elephant-like). We were told that the land itself (as we can understand even more now) will be like an attraction in and of itself because it’s so detailed. Though we entered via Grand Avenue, we were informed that the view from Toy Story Land will be a little more wide-scale — like 360 degrees (which is hard to believe, because our vantage point was already insanely cool). We were also informed that pretty much the only difference between Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in Hollywood Studios in comparison to Galaxy’s Edge in Disneyland (which will open first on May 31, 2019) are the entrances into the land. Star Wars Galaxy Edge Entrance in Hollywood Studios It’s almost time to “LIVE YOUR STAR WARS STORY,” my friends! May the Force Be With You!! HOW EXCITED ARE YOU for Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge?! Some educational dreams take you beyond the classroom, and for Kristina Brandt, a part-time Lead cast member at the Disney store in Garden City, NY, that’s exactly the case. After a few twists and turns, Kristina is on her way to making her passion for people and volunteering the focus of her desire to work in communications. With the help of Disney Aspire, a groundbreaking 100 percent tuition-paid educational program, Kristina is making her dreams come true and we’re thrilled to watch them unfold. After beginning a career in marketing, Kristina was inspired to go back to school for her Master’s in Public Relations to combine her professional passion for marketing and public relations with her personal passion for contributing to a greater good. However, after graduation when the company where she was working unexpectedly closed, Kristina was left looking for her next career opportunity. This is where her journey with The Walt Disney Company began as she joined as a cast member at the Disney Store, and unknowingly, where her educational pursuits would continue. Kristina advanced her passion for learning by joining the company’s Ambassador program, as well as taking on lead positions for her team. But Kristina’s dream to work in a communications or marketing role that allows her to focus on those around her only continued to flourish as she began working at the Disney store. An avid volunteer for many years, she’s passionate about creating and fostering a positive community and inspiring teams to look for new and creative solutions for a variety of problems. As she looks ahead to the next stage of her professional life, Kristina is hoping to utilize her professional skills “to bring people together – to inspire and motivate them to connect and bring about positive change.” As she began to search for her next professional step, Kristina noticed that many positions she was interested in required graphic design skills, something that was not covered in her Master’s program. Through Disney Aspire, she is now working towards a certificate in graphic design that will expand her professional skills and allow her to be even more prepared for the future aspirations she’s stepping towards achieving. “Through this program, I can be even more prepared and ready for the next opportunity to do good through communication and community building,” Kristina said. “I’m grateful to Disney for giving me the opportunity to keep learning and pushing me to what I’m capable of.” Disney Aspire launched in 2018 to help hourly cast members reach their educational goals by equipping them with programs, coaching and job skills, with the cost of tuition and books covered by Disney. From professional skills like the ones Kristina is pursuing to graduate degrees, cast members can enroll in a variety of programs to help them achieve their goals. Cast members can even study English or Spanish through Rosetta Stone courses! We’re so excited that Kristina is now able to take the next step in her journey. And we’re looking forward to continuing our #DreamsWithinReach series in the coming months, bringing you more inspiring stories of cast members achieving their goals with Disney Aspire! “Wonderful World of Animation,” the all-new cinematic nighttime experience debuting May 1 at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, leverages state-of-the-art projection mapping technology and other effects to take guests on a magical journey through more than 90 years of Disney animation. The team at Disney Parks Live Entertainment has been working on the show for months and are now in the final stages of programming and preparation. Over the last couple weeks, the production team and creative designers, representing audio, video, lighting, music and special effects disciplines, have gone in after the park is closed for the day, fine-tuning everything to get it just right for the grand opening. Here’s a look behind the scenes. “Wonderful World of Animation” begins with the one-and-only Mickey Mouse, as the park’s iconic Chinese Theater transforms into the black-and-white world of the classic short film, “Mickey’s Gala Premiere.” From there, the show bursts forth in full color, celebrating Mickey’s starring role in “Fantasia” as it launches into sequences filled with magic, family, adventure, romance, villainy and friendship. Each theme is brought to life through unforgettable moments from Disney and Pixar animated films, from “Coco” and “The Incredibles” to “Sleeping Beauty” and “Ralph Breaks the Internet.” With nods to the vast library from Disney and Pixar Animation Studios’ long legacy, “Wonderful World of Animation” is the perfect complement to an exhilarating day of adventures at Disney’s Hollywood Studios and a great way to celebrate the park’s 30th anniversary. It’s ALMOST MAY… which means it’s almost OPENING MONTH for Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in Disneyland, which is opening on May 31, 2019! ©Disney from @DisneyParks on Twitter And, of course, Galaxy’s Edge will open in Disney World’s Hollywood Studios on August 29, 2019. But no matter which is your destination, Disney is providing some handy tips and sharing more information bit by bit for logistics when it comes to visiting the land. Today brings a few new fun tidbits by way of Disney’s “Know Before You Go” video series to prepare guests for this highly anticipated opening. Today’s video shares features regarding how the Disneyland park app will work in Galaxy’s Edge (and presumably speaks to how the Disney World counterpart app, My Disney Experience, may be used as well). Disneyland app screenshot Disney confirmed that select locations in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge will offer Mobile Order — the process which allows guests to pre-order and pre-pay for their food at participating Counter Service Restaurants in both Disneyland and Walt Disney World. Mobile Order for participating Galaxy’s Edge locations will be available for guests via their park app once inside the land. (P.S. They hint that the Milk Stand might be one of the participating spots!) Blue AND Green Milk ©Disney Parks Disney also confirmed that there will be Disney PhotoPass photo opportunities in Galaxy’s Edge. Disney also reminds in the video that the Play Disney Parks app will be a terrific interactive tool once inside the land, when it will transform into your very own Star Wars Datapad. Play Disney Parks App for Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge ©Disney “More and More cool stuff will be added to the Play Disney Parks app for Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, and your experience can be different every time,” Disney shares. Want to see Disney’s video for yourself? Then check it out here! Do you plan to utilize apps in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge? Please let us know with a comment! Related posts: Sneak Peek! What’s more, tickets are on sale starting TODAY! So I’m celebrating with this special Foodie Guide. Like most Disney After Hours events, you can enjoy complimentary ice cream novelties, popcorn, and select bottled beverages included in the cost of admission. But wait, Foolish Mortal, there’s more! In addition to low wait times at more than 20 attractions and experiences throughout the park, there will be special villainous enhancements to attractions like Pirates of the Caribbean and Space Mountain as well as spooky event merchandise. You can also dance the night away at the castle stage, where a party DJ will be spinning some sick beats, transforming the entire Central Plaza of the park into a killer club scene. And when the party heats up, you’ll be introduced to your “Caretaker” for the evening, the Lord of the Dead, Hades, who arrives in a burst of blue flames for the all-new show, “Villains Unite the Night.” And you might even spot Maleficent the Dragon roaming for the first time ever at night – breathing fire as she creeps through the park with her signature wicked grin. So if all of this info is sparking your inner-Disney Villain, check out all of these dreadfully delightful sweets and treats located throughout the park. Here’s some news that’s “fantastique!” “Fancy Nancy” has arrived at Disney’s Hollywood Studios just in time for the park’s 30th anniversary celebration this week. You can say “Bonjour!” to Nancy at an all-new character greeting location in the park’s Animation Courtyard, where she’s making “une grande entrée” in front of her backyard playhouse. Starting April 30, Nancy will also be part of the breakfast-time fun during Disney Junior Play ‘n Dine at Hollywood & Vine, the place to eat, play and laugh along with favorite Disney Junior friends including Vampirina, Doc McStuffins and Roadster Racer Goofy. Disney Junior’s animated family comedy “Fancy Nancy” follows six-year-old Nancy, whose imagination and enthusiasm for all that is exquisite transforms the ordinary into the extraordinary – from her vast vocabulary to her creative and elaborate attire. Nancy uses ingenuity and resourcefulness to exemplify that even if life doesn’t always go as planned, it’s important to make the most of each day and encourage others to do the same. “Fancy Nancy” airs weekdays on Disney Channel and daily on Disney Junior, and is also available in the DisneyNOW app. View the full article
