  1. One thing I love about working at Disney is seeing how Cast Members find ways to make our Guests’ experiences even better. A few years ago, my son was magically transformed into a brave knight at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique in Disney Springs Marketplace. To make his appointment with a Fairy Godmother-in-Training, I called the Disney Reservation Center to check availability. Fast forward to today, guests now have an even easier way to make appointments for this and other experiences using a new online reservation system available on Disneyland.com and DisneyWorld.com. With the online system, you can quickly search for available dates or make cancelations to existing appointments at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique locations in domestic U.S. Parks, and at The Pirates League and Harmony Barber Shop in Magic Kingdom Park at Walt Disney World Resort. The site will seem familiar to anyone who has made an online dining reservation as it contains a similar layout and features (just create or sign into your Disney account to get started). Guests are strongly encouraged to make reservations in advance for these experiences as they are quite popular and appointment times fill up quickly. Reservations can be made up to 60 days in advance for the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique (ages 3-12) in Disneyland park. At Walt Disney World Resort, reservations can be made up to 180 days in advance for the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique (ages 3-12), The Pirates League, or Harmony Barber Shop. Looking at photographs of my now teenage son from that knightly experience at the boutique, I’m reminded of how much fun we had that morning, and how Disney helped create memories for us that will last a lifetime. 2. There are no worries for the rest of your days at Disney’s Animal Kingdom if you happen to stumble upon the Hakuna Matata Time Dance Party. Little ones (and their parents) can unleash their wild side moves alongside favorite furry friends like Timon and Rafiki from “The Lion King,” Baloo from “The Jungle Book” and Terk from “Tarzan,” during a family-friendly dance party featuring games and lively music with a cool island vibe. It’s hard to believe 2019 marks the 25th anniversary of the iconic “Lion King” animated film, yet the music is timeless. A live street band and vocalist perform upbeat versions of favorite hits from the film like “Hakuna Matata,” “Can you Feel the Love Tonight,” “I Just Can’t Wait to Be King” and more. You can’t help but sing along with a smile. Little kids love learning new dance moves, and interacting with the characters is always a bonus. The Hakuna Matata Time Dance Party takes place throughout the day through September 30, at the Discovery Island Stage at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. View the full article
  3. Mother’s Day is this Sunday, May 12, and to celebrate the love among female members of the family, we have a new Disney Parks Blog wallpaper to share with you. This design, created by artist Ashley Taylor, was inspired by the familial love among Mulan’s family. “I not only wanted to showcase the closeness of these three generations of women, but I wanted to show how they protect and look out for each other,” Ashley said. “Fa Li is watching over Mulan, Mulan is watching over Grandmother Fa and Grandmother Fa is watching over Fa Li!” Download this wallpaper for your desktop or mobile device. Be sure to check out the terms of use about using the wallpaper before you download it. Want to check out other designs? Visit our complete gallery of wallpapers. View the full article

  5. You might spot a few (or even more than a few) DisneyBounding outfits around the Disney parks from time to time. Cinderella’s Castle Disneybounding happens when guests dress up in clothes which are coordinated to reflect a Disney character…or, in this case, a popular Disney TREAT! We’ve seen so many creative DisneyBound outfits on social media. But one recently stopped us in our tracks! @B_the_magic and @rahygray on Instagram coordinated their outfits to look like the Night Blossom drink found in Animal Kingdom’s Pandora! Dapper Day Outfit @b_the_magic They wore brightly colored outfits to match the vivid hues of the limeade, apple, and pear flavored drink and completed the look with orange accessories just like the passion fruit boba balls that you’ll find topping the popular beverage. The colors are SPOT ON! Don’t they look perfect? You can find the Night Blossom drink at Pongu Pongu in Pandora — The World of Avatar. Check out our full review of the location here! 6. Cool Ship is a casual kiosk in Magic Kingdom’s Tomorrowland. And, as the name implies, it’s good for finding something cold to sip on a warm day. Cool Ship sign We noticed a few returning and new additions to the menu (which also offers the classic Churro for snack). Cool Ship Menu Back at Cool Ship are the Interstellar Punch and Super Lemonade. Super Lemonade and Interstellar Punch These “special effects” drinks utilize dry ice in a special compartment in the bottom of the glass to create a smoking and bubbling effect. Super Lemonade They made their debut last summer as part of the Incredible Tomorrowland Expo (albeit with Incredibles-themed names at the time), and you can read our thoughts on them here. What we found most surprising, though, was not the return of the specialty beverages. Nope — it was the fact that we spotted Orange Vanilla Coke available in Disney World right here at Cool Ship. Orange Vanilla Coke While we found and tried it in February in Disneyland Resort, this is the first we’re noticing it in Disney World. Orange Vanilla Coke So keep your eyes peeled for Orange Vanilla Coke wherever you find bottled drinks in Disney World, because you never know what might POP up! Have you tried Orange Vanilla Coke? 8. Whether you’re searching for a romantic couple’s getaway, an unforgettable girls’ trip or an all-adult family vacation with something everyone will enjoy, Adventures by Disney is creating more ways for your group to add a touch of sophistication and a dash of pixie dust to your next adventure. As part of our amazing lineup of guided group vacations coming in 2020, we’re adding more adult-exclusive departures than ever before with adult-only dates for more than 30 incredible destinations and tours, including land-based adventures and European river cruises. What’s more, Adventures by Disney has developed brand-new experiences just for adults for many of these itineraries, further tailoring these trips for our grown-up guests. With so many incredible options to choose from, it might be difficult to decide which itinerary is right for you. To help get you started, I’ve highlighted some of my favorite new adult-only programming below… Do any of these sound like you? For the History Buff: Egypt Egypt is a history lover’s paradise, and our guests are going to be completely immersed in the rich stories and alluring mysteries of this ancient land when we launch our Egypt vacation next year. In addition to visiting famous pyramids, fascinating temples and even King Tutankhamen’s tomb, the adult-only itinerary offers an extra special treat — an exclusive VIP tour of the conservation rooms at the brand-new Grand Egyptian Museum! This privately guided activity delivers up-close encounters with some of the unpreserved and uncovered ancient artifacts kept in the museum’s private rooms. How cool is that?! For the Nature Enthusiast: Iceland If you love the outdoors, Iceland is the perfect trip for you. This itinerary is chock full of stunning views — waterfalls, volcanoes, hot springs, you name it! — and outdoor excursions such as glacier hiking, river rafting and more. On top of all that, select adult-exclusive Iceland departures will include a chance to see one of the most beautiful natural wonders of the world during a new private nighttime excursion in search of the Northern Lights! This upgraded itinerary also features enhanced dining experiences just for adults (which should help you refuel after all that adventuring outdoors!). For the Unique Experience Seeker: Cambodia, Vietnam and Laos If unique cultural experiences are your thing, search no further than our Cambodia, Vietnam and Laos trip, where Adventures by Disney is going above and beyond in 2020. We’ve added a breathtaking new experience on the adult-only itinerary: An invitation to attend a special ancestral ceremony hosted by a senior village shaman, followed by food and drink prepared by the healer’s family. This once-in-a-lifetime event complements the comprehensive roster of immersive experiences on this trip, and additional new adult programming includes hands-on culinary activities like mango carving and coffee tasting. For the Theater Lover: China Did you know the color of a performer’s mask in traditional Chinese theater represents their character’s emotions? In 2020, the Adventures by Disney adult-exclusive China itinerary will take you behind-the-scenes at the Sichuan “face-changing” opera to observe the intricate makeup techniques used by performers when getting stage-ready. This is just one of many unique ways you’ll experience the traditions and history of China during this 12-day vacation that transports you to the Great Wall, the Forbidden City and more. The 2020 adult-exclusive itinerary also features a new tuk-tuk foodie tour of Chengdu and a private archeologist guide at the Terracotta Museum in Xi’an. For the Home Chef: Costa Rica Home cooks of every skill level will love discovering the secret to making the perfect ceviche, a traditional South American dish, during a private cooking lesson in Costa Rica. During this new adult-only experience for 2020, guests will learn how to make delicious local recipes and enjoy a selection of artisanal beers. And that’ll be just one of countless indulgences during this vacation, which also includes a privately guided chocolate tour, a dip in the local hot springs and a VIP catamaran excursion. Sign me up! These adult-exclusive itineraries, along with other 2020 vacations, will be available for booking beginning May 16, 2019, and select departures are eligible for savings of up to $750 off per person if you book early. In the meantime, keep an eye on adventuresbydisney.com – more details will be made available on May 12 View the full article

  21. Today is seriously Magic Kingdom treat mania! Magic Kingdom With the release of new treats like the Tangled Wall Éclair and the Mickey Celebration Donut…our tummies are filled to the brim with sweet treats! And just when we thought we’d reviewed it all, we caught a glimpse of a new ice cream sundae at the Magic Kingdom Plaza Ice Cream Parlor! They’re now serving a Dulce de Leche brownie sundae. And though we’ve seen dulce de leche ice cream here before as the ice cream of the month…we’ve never seen it like this! Dulce de Leche Brownie Sundae The sundae includes Dulce de Leche ice cream and a brownie. It’s topped with hot fudge, whipped cream, Heath bar crumbles, and a cherry! Dulce de Leche Brownie Sundae And man you guys, this sundae is DELICIOUS. It’s massive so it’s a great treat to share with your group. The brownie didn’t seem to be warm, which was kind of nice because it slowed down the sundae’s melt time. But, we’re not gonna lie, we’re kind of partial to a nice warm gooey brownie. 24. Calling all donut lovers!! We have found a BIG one – and by big we mean HUMONGOUS!! Introducing the all-new GIANT Mickey Celebration Donut… Strawberry Mickey Celebration Donut …did we mention that it’s huge?! You can get this all-new sweet treat at The Lunching Pad in Tomorrowland. The Lunching Pad Menu As you can see, the Mickey Celebration Donut comes in your choice of Chocolate, Vanilla, or Strawberry. Mickey Celebration Donut Menu This thing is SO BIG it comes served in it’s own pizza-like box! Strawberry Mickey Celebration Donut We couldn’t resist trying two flavors: Chocolate and Strawberry. Strawberry and Chocolate Mickey Celebration Donuts You can certainly see they’re pretty — but how do they taste? Pretty darn delicious! It’s a yeast donut with tasty frosting that tastes, well…like a donut! But a very good donut at that. We saw plenty of families sharing them which we would certainly recommend because it’s so big! Chocolate Mickey Celebration Donut Cross Section Some of you may recall our fondness for the giant Joffrey’s Donut made by Donut King, and wonder how this new treat stacks up. Joffrey’s Big ol’ Donut Well, flavor-wise — we have to give the edge to Joffrey’s. That thing is just so light and soft, it’s really hard to beat. Size-wise, the Mickey Celebration Donut is probably more donut real estate. The center section of the Mickey Donut is just a touch smaller than the Joffrey’s Donut — but you get those two ears. Plus the Mickey Celebration Donut is so darn cute, you really can’t lose either way! Mickey Celebration Donuts The Mickey Celebration Donut isn’t the only new donut to fly into Magic Kingdom. We recently tried the new “Wish Granted” Donut in Adventureland! Wish Granted Donut You can read our full review of this Aladdin inspired treat here! Tangled Wall Eclair The Mickey Celebration Donut is available now through June 30, along with the rest of the limited edition Magic Kingdom Treats, such as the new Celebration Brownie and Tangled Wall Eclair. 25. Disney has JUST released a few really cute and yummy treats that you’ll be able to find throughout Magic Kingdom through the end of June. Cinderella’s Castle And we’ve already reviewed the Wish Granted donut, Mickey Milkshake, and Mickey Celebration Brownie as they were all released on May 1st. Make sure you check those out so you know where to find them and if they’re worth the moolah! But follow along with us TODAY as we will be reviewing the rest of the treats! We’ve been dreaming of the new Tangled Éclair, so we thought we’d start the day off with this new snack! Tangled Wall Eclair This totally Instagrammable treat is topped with white chocolate whipped cream Punzie hair, sugar flowers, purple craquelin, and a chocolate frying pan! The white chocolate whipped cream tasted more like standard whipped cream to us though. Tangled Wall Eclair The inside of the treat is filled with dulce de leche. Tangled Wallt Eclair We enjoyed it, but there is a pretty strong caramel flavor, so if you aren’t a big caramel fan this probably isn’t the snack for you! We thought this guy was pretty yummy, but we’re not gonna lie, we’re still more fond of the Vanellope Éclair. Tangled Wall Eclair Leap and bound your way to Pinocchio Village Haus in Magic Kingdom to get the NEW treat. It’s $5.99 or a snack credit if you’re part of the Disney Dining Plan. And remember, this limited time treat will only be available until the end of June. Pinocchio’s Village Haus What’s your favorite Disney World treat? Let us know in the comments below!
