The Skywalker Saga has ended (and we’re still crying about it). ©Lucasfilm But, while we’ve had to say goodbye to our past friends, we’ve also been welcoming the stories of new ones (Season 2 of The Mandalorian, here we come!!). Still, we can’t help but wonder what will happen to the Star Wars universe with the epic conclusion to the recent trilogy. Well, you might want to listen up, Padawans! ‘Cause we’ve got some answers for you! We’ve seen a Star Wars film released in theaters every year since The Force Awakens in 2015. Buuut, Lucasfilm and Disney are taking a hiatus for TWO. WHOLE. YEARS. to bring fans new galactic content! ©Disney Disney has announced that the next Star Wars movie won’t be coming to theaters until December 2022 at the earliest…and that’s basically all we know about it. However, we do know that Disney+ will be airing a new Obi-Wan Kenobi series, a possible spin-off with Cassian Andor, and the continuation of The Mandalorian. Sooo, worry not, you will! Fans will still be getting some Star Wars content before 2022. The Mandalorian ©Disney Although we might have a few ideas about what the franchise will hold in the future, we’re just going to have to re-watch the past films in anticipation of the new ones. Baby Yoda has been taking the galaxy by storm! There is a new LEGENDARY margarita in Epcot. La Cava del Tequila So, naturally, we HAD to try it! Today, we swung on over to La Cava del Tequila in Epcot’s Mexico Pavilion and ordered the Black Magic Margarita, developed by Neil Patrick Harris. That’s right…the one and only NPH has developed a Disney marg, people. Want to know what we thought?? We love hanging out in La Cava del Tequila (because obviously); it’s one of the coolest places to have a marg around Disney World. And we think that the new Black Magic Margarita is an awesome addition to the menu. It’s made with smoky Mezcal, blackberry purée, Cassis liqueur, lime, and mint. La Cava Cocktail Menu And, since the Black Magic debuted TODAY, we were one of the first people in line to grab the drink (to give you a review, of course)! Buuuut, we also happened to receive NPH’s latest book in his The Magic Misfits series just for purchasing the drink! That means we definitely should thank Neil for his creativity two times. (; The Magic Misfits In case you didn’t know, Neil Patrick Harris is known for his skills in magic. He actually used to be the Ambassador of Magic for the Magic Castle in Los Angeles (so you know this marg is seriously magical). A Whole Bunch of NPH Magic! And we thought that this drink lives up to its name — it’s magic! While you can taste the Mezcal with every sip, we seriously love the fact it is so smokey. Black Magic Margarita The blackberry is balanced just right with the mezcal, adding some sweetness to the flavors. And, even though the booze isn’t super strong, the kick is definitely there. Black Magic Margarita If you’re a fan of fruity or frozen cocktail or maybe you want an introduction to mezcal, you’ll want to head over to La Cava to try the Black Magic Margarita for $21. We’re THIS close to a brand new dining option at Downtown Disney over in Anaheim! Asian Streets Eats Coming to Downtown Disney Asian Street Eats by Chef Hung Huynh is the upcoming take-out dining location set to open “this holiday season” according to Disney. So we’re hoping it’ll open SOON! According to Disney, “this trendy take-out window will serve a flavorful variety of Asian dishes and will be located on the west end of the Downtown Disney District.” We’re excited to say that we have a first look at the completed structure that will house this new foodie destination! Asian Street Eats This new concept is the brainchild of Earl Enterprises, the company behind other popular spots like Earl of Sandwich and Chicken Guy! On the left side, we spot a silver refrigerated cart. Could this house their strawberry and mango mochi? We hope so! Asian Street Eats On the ride side, you’ll find the dining location’s Pay and Pick-Up window. Asian Street Eats The menu will include “mixed rice bowls, scallion pancake wraps, potstickers, kids’ meals, Japanese teas, and sodas.” We even spied a little preview of what to expect food wise thanks to the chef’s Instagram. Jaleo is taking part in the Spanish tradition of the “12 grapes of luck” (or las doce uvas de la suerte) for New Year’s Eve! Jaleo The century old tradition will take place starting at 5 PM with á la carte specials and the New Year’s Eve Tasting Menu for $120 per person. While you can listen to DJ Luis Pastrana at 10 PM, you’ll also be able to snack on the 12 grapes and cava toast at midnight to begin 2020!! Plus, you’ll even receive a few party favors to commemorate the occasion. We love checking out the packaged treats available in different stores around Disney World and today we noticed some super cute new packaging on some classic treats at Mouse Gear in Epcot. We LOVE how cute the new packaging is and can’t wait for you to see it! This new packaging on a few of Disney’s classic prepackaged snacks mimics a new “Park Life” collection that recently hit the parks. Ah, Epcot’s Italy pavilion! How we love your sights, smells, and delicious Italian FOODS! Pizza al Taglio in Epcot’s Italy Pavilion And even though Epcot’s World Showcase is busy this time of year with the Festival of the Holidays and all, we’re thankful for the crowds because it means Pizza al Taglio is now OPEN! It’s true — we wish we could eat from the open-seasonally pizza window attached to Via Napoli every day. But alas, Pizza al Taglio is usually only open to help feed the masses during Epcot’s busier seasons! And even though a gentle rain was falling today in Disney World today, it wasn’t enough to disperse this crowd of pizza-loving fans — us included! Pizza al Taglio If you’ve never tried Pizza al Taglio’s pizza before, allow us the pleasure of raving a little bit about it! While you may think its the same one being offered inside Via Napoli (after all, they share the same building!) they aren’t the same at all! Pizza al Taglio’s pizza is thicker and square-shaped because it’s baked in a sheet pan while Via Napoli’s pizza is a Neapolitan-style thin-crust version, fired in a wood-burning oven! Anywho, as we trekked our way over to Pizza al Taglio’s we noticed a new item has appeared on its menu — Arancini! Pizza al Taglio’s Menu Arancini are tasty balls of risotto stuffed with mozzarella cheese that are deep-fried until golden brown deliciousness is achieved. The result? Pure foodie nirvana! Arancini We couldn’t believe our eyes when we were served this yummy Arancini ball! It bears a striking resemblance to the Arancini you can get at Via Napoli — if you’re fortunate enough to snag an advance dining reservation at this popular Italian table-service spot! Arancini But walk-up counter Arancini is a total game-changer! And sure enough, the flavors tasted the same as Via Napoli’s Arancini as well, which makes total sense because according to the Cast Members we spoke with today, they’re the exact same ones Via Napoli serves! Arancini So while Via Napoli and Pizza al Taglio don’t share the same philosophy when it comes to making pizza, they do seem to agree on arancini! And we do, too! Could the new City Works Eatery and Tap House in Disney Springs finally be nearing its completion? City Works Construction Signs are certainly starting to point to YES! (At least, we hope so!) While the new restaurant (which should feature a menu of delicious American food AND a taproom!) has been anticipated to open sometime in winter of 2019, the construction of City Works has remained a work-in-progress. But after seeing a new City Works sign go up recently, we thought we might be nearing the finish line! City Works And although the digital marquee above the new sign says “Now Open” that’s an advertisement for the NBA Experience that just opened this fall which shares a building with City Works! First Look at Second Bahamas Destination We shared information and two early conceptual artist renderings for our second island destination in The Bahamas, located on the breathtaking island of Eleuthera, which will be a unique destination rooted in Bahamian culture and imbued with Disney magic. 3. Captain Minnie Mouse Inspires Next Generation of Female Ship Captains Captain Minnie Mouse made her debut, and we rolled out new youth programs and the funding of scholarships designed to empower girls and young women to pursue careers in the cruise industry. 4. New Spaces Enhance the Disney Wonder Stem-to-stern enhancements transformed the Disney Wonder, including an exciting New Orleans-themed lounge that transports guests into the heart of the city’s iconic French Quarter, a sleek new place for teens and a redesigned café for adults. 5. The holiday season is a notorious time of year for bringing massive crowds to both Disney World and Disneyland. Disneyland If you were thinking of heading to Disneyland today, you may want to adjust your plans! Disneyland officially reported via Twitter that as of 11:40 AM PST, Disneyland Park has stopped selling tickets. Tickets for California Adventure are still available. No word yet on how long this will stay in effect. If you already have purchased tickets, or have an Annual Pass, note that you are still clear to enter the park! Mar. 30 – Disney Princess Breakfast Adventures, an all-new, elegant dining experience with some of your favorite heroines, debuted at Napa Rose restaurant in Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa. Apr. 5 – The yodeling cowgirl from the “Toy Story” films inspired the opening of Jessie’s Critter Carousel. Nestled along Pixar Pier at Disney California Adventure park, this attraction promises a rootin’ tootin’ good time. Apr. 26 – Pop-Up Disney! A Mickey Celebration opened for a limited time in the Downtown Disney District, transporting guests through a whimsically immersive, picture-perfect experience. Apr. 26 – The 3D movie musical “Mickey’s PhilharMagic” premiered in Disney California Adventure park, showcasing the spectacular magic of Disney animation and music. June 28 – Inside Out Emotional Whirlwind opened in Pixar Pier at Disney California Adventure park, taking guests on a sense-ational spin aboard one of eight Memory Movers. May 18 – Black Tap Craft Burgers & Shakes celebrated its official grand opening in the Downtown Disney District, serving over-the-top CrazyShake shakes and award-winning, mouth-watering burgers. May 31 – Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, the epic new land inside Disneyland park, officially opened! This historic opening was the largest and most technologically advanced single-themed land expansion ever in a Disney park. June 14 – Disneyland park celebrated 60 magical years of three iconic attractions: Disneyland Monorail, Matterhorn Bobsleds and Submarine Voyage (which is now the re-imagined Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage). July 18 – Jonathan Ridgeway from Ocean Springs, Miss. became the 1 millionth member of Hondo Ohnaka’s flight crew to take the controls of the Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in Disneyland park. Sept. 17 – The all-new, separate ticket event, Oogie Boogie Bash – A Disney Halloween Party debuted at Disney California Adventure park, treating party guests to multiple new experiences, including the “World of Color” spectacular – “­Villainous!,” a DescenDANCE Party, “Mickey’s Trick & Treat” stage show, a mysterious Disney villains walk-through experience and more.
