We love the colorful little M&M’s the front of the building’s facade is sprinkled with! Earlier today we brought you the exciting news that Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run will soon start accepting FastPass+ at Hollywood Studios! Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run ©Disney But, before you grab your flight suit and get ready to explore the galaxy, we’ve got even MORE news coming out of Hollywood Studios — and it’s something that’ll make you smile on this Thursday morning! Starting on February 19th, 2020, Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run will be added as a FastPass+ option at Hollywood Studios. BUT, that’s not the only exciting change coming that day! The addition of Millennium Falcon has changed up the FastPass+ Tiers, so the only Tier One FastPass+ options will be Millennium Falcon and Slinky Dog Dash! That means you can book a ride on the Falcon, AND test your carnival game skills over at Toy Story Mania, AND ride the music with Rock n’ Roller Coaster! FastPass+ Tier One Rides ©Disney This is a huge change, as up until February 18th, 2020, rides like Tower of Terror and Toy Story Mania are listed as Tier One, meaning you can only choose a single Tier One for your initial FastPass+. But, for FastPass+ booked February 19th and later, you can see that every ride aside from Millennium Falcon and Slinky Dog Dash are fair game to book alongside your Tier One FastPass+! SCORE! Good morning cutie Batuuties! We have some exciting news straight from Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in Disney World for ya. Millennium Falcon FastPass+ is finally traveling to a galaxy far, far away! Today, we have confirmed that FastPass+ is coming to Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. This attraction allows guests to control the fastest hunk of junk in the galaxy — the Millennium Falcon. FastPass+ Read more about Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run here! The first date that is showing as available for FastPass+ is currently February 19th. So, if you have a trip coming up soon, you may want to hop into your My Disney Experience app, because we have a feeling that these are going to go quickly! Remember Disney hotel guests can make FastPasses up to 60 days in advance. Millennium Falcon: FastPass The attraction is also currently listed as a Tier 1 attraction. According to Disney, “When you make FastPass+ plans for Disney’s Hollywood Studios, you can select between either Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run or Slinky Dog Dash (pending availability). Then, you can add additional experiences to plans, including Toy Story Mania, Alien Swirling Saucers, Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith, The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, Fantasmic! and more.” That’s really exciting seeing how there was a recent change in FastPass tiers that did not allow guests to choose some of these at the same time. Currently, Rise of the Resistance is still opperating on the Boarding Group system. And neither attraction in Disneyland is offering FastPasses just yet. FastPass+ reservations for Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run just became available in the My Disney Experience app for those of you planning to visit on or after Feb. 19. When you make FastPass+ plans for Disney’s Hollywood Studios, you can select between either Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run or Slinky Dog Dash (pending availability). Then, you can add additional experiences to plans, including Toy Story Mania, Alien Swirling Saucers, Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith, The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, Fantasmic! and more. Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run combines immersive storytelling with interactive gameplay and makes you the protagonist of your own Star Wars adventure! When it’s time for the mission to begin, you’ll be assigned one of three critical roles: Pilots, Gunners and Flight Engineers. It’s up to you and your fellow passengers to smuggle goods while avoiding any unnecessary entanglements. You know we at Disney Food Blog LOVE our recipes. I mean we’re called Disney FOOD Blog for a reason! Epcot We JUST shared a recipe from over at Trattoria al Forno, and now we’re back with another! If you’re looking for something fresh, but a little tart and a little spicy, look no further than this recipe for a Latin-inspired snack that Disney shared! With the Epcot International Festival of the Arts just starting up, we’re lookin’ at one of our favorite Food Studios, Pop Eats! They’re serving up a Shrimp Cerviche with a Lime-Mint Foam on the menu that is refreshing, but can also have a bit of a kick to it depending on how you feel about peppers! 2020 Pop Eats! Food Studio Ingredients Shrimp Ceviche 2 cups diced cooked shrimp (about 2/3 pound) 1/2 cup diced red onions 1/4 cup diced green pepper 1/4 cup diced red bell pepper 1 jalapeno pepper, seeded and diced 1/4 cup thinly sliced green onions 1/4 cup orange juice 1/2 cup lime juice 1 tablespoon sugar 1/2 cup diced mango 1/4 cup chopped cilantro salt, to taste black pepper, to taste Lime-Mint Foam 1/2 cup water 1/2 cup lime juice 1 teaspoon soy lecithin 1 tablespoon sugar 1/2 cup chopped fresh mint Shrimp Ceviche Instructions For Shrimp Ceviche: 1. Combine shrimp, red onion, green pepper, red pepper, jalapeno, and green onion in a glass mixing bowl. 2. In a small bowl, combine orange juice, lime juice, and sugar. Stir until sugar is dissolved. Pour over shrimp mixture. 3. Add mango and cilantro and stir to combine. Season with salt and pepper to taste. 4. Set aside. For Lime-Mint Foam: 1. Combine water, lime juice, soy lecithin, sugar, and mint in a large mixing bowl. 2. Whip using a whisk or immersion blender until foam develops on the top. Allow to stand for 1 minute. To Serve: Evenly divide ceviche among 4 bowls. Spoon 2 tablespoons lime-mint foam on top of ceviche. Now you can make this delightful snack in the comfort of your own home! Are you gearing up to explore Pixar Pier at Disney California Adventure soon? Well, if you are you may wanna know that it looks like one of its newest attractions could be closing soon for refurbishment! Pixar Pier We noticed a change to the operating schedules that may indicate an upcoming refurbishment! Jessie’s Critter Carousel, which opened less than one year ago in April of 2019, is possibly undergoing a brief refurbishment in late February. On Disneyland’s website, we noticed that there are currently no operating times reported for February 24, 2020. Jessie’s Critter Carousel Will Not Be Available on Feb 24, per Disneyland’s Website © Disney The schedule continues to show the attraction as unavailable through March 3, 2020, which is as far out as the schedule currently extends. Jessie’s Critter Carousel Unavailable Through at least March 3 © Disney While times could be added later, it typically means that an attraction will be going through a bit of a refurb when we see “No Times Available” on the Disney website. If true, this refurbishment would add to the increasingly long list of scheduled refurbishments happening at the Disneyland Resort. We’ve recently reported on rides such as Snow White’s Scary Adventures, Indiana Jones Adventure, King Arthur Carrousel, and Haunted Mansion as all experiencing some sort of scheduled ‘down time’ in 2020. Here at DFB, we’re lovers of sweet treats, especially cupcakes. Centertown Market And that’s why we’re making it our mission to try EVERY cupcake that Disney has to offer. So, today we’re checking out the Mickey and Minnie Cupcake duo at Caribbean Beach Resort’s Centertown Market. There are two different versions of the cupcake, one for Mickey and one for Minnie. Mickey version The Mickey Cupcake has a chocolate cake base with buttercream and a chocolate truffle on top. Red sprinkles cover the entire thing, fully representing the mouse with all his colors. Can you say yum? We found that the cupcake was good overall, although it was a bit dry. The chocolate truffle on top is a nice touch and there were just enough buttercream and sprinkles without becoming overbearing. Maybe you’ll be lucky enough to snag a more moist cupcake! The Minnie Cupcake is a vanilla cake with red buttercream on then white buttercream icing on top, with a bow and mouse ears for good measure. Minnie Cupcake This cake was much moister and yummy, perfect for a cupcake. There is A LOT of buttercream though that tends to overwhelm the flavor of the cake, so if you like buttercream, you’ll probs LOVE this cupcake. We’ve got an awesome recipe straight from Walt Disney World you guys can try out at home! Trattoria al Forno Our friends over at D23 shared this sweet treat that you can find near the Boardwalk Inn and Suites. They’ve pulled a recipe out of Delicious Disney: The Fresh Edition, a cookbook that takes the food we know and love from the parks and the cruise liners and allows you to make them in your very own home. This recipe comes from Trattoria Al Forno on the Boardwalk. For dessert, Trattoria offers up Roasted White Chocolate Budino for $8.00. This is a creamy custard-like treat that positively melts in your mouth. Budino The Budino served at Trattoria Al Forno comes with an Amaretti Cookie, which the recipe is nice enough to give instructions for as well so you can pair the two for the true experience. Ingredients 1 3/4 cups white chocolate chips 1 (1/4-ounce) envelope powdered gelatin 1 cup whole milk, divided 1 cup, plus 1 tablespoon heavy cream 1 teaspoon light corn syrup When serving the Budino, it is recommended to pair it with whipped cream and maraschino cherries. Instructions For Budino: Preheat oven to 250°F. Place white chocolate chips in a shallow baking dish. Bake for 10 minutes and stir. Cook for an additional 30 to 60 minutes, stirring every 10 minutes. Color should be medium caramel. Using a rubber spatula, scrape chocolate into a medium bowl. Sprinkle gelatin over 1/4 cup of milk in a small bowl. Combine remaining 3/4 cup milk, heavy cream, and corn syrup in a saucepan and bring to a boil. Remove from heat and mix in the gelatin/milk mixture, whisking until fully dissolved. Pour hot cream mixture over roasted chocolate, whisking to combine. Divide evenly among 6 serving bowls. Refrigerate until set, at least 2 hours. Budino instructions ©Disney For Amaretti Cookies: Preheat oven to 325°F. Line two baking sheets with parchment paper. Beat almond paste with electric mixer until crumbly. Beat in egg whites until mixture is smooth. Sift in powdered sugar and all-purpose flour, beating just until combined, about 1 minute. Stir in almond flour with a wooden spoon. (Dough will be sticky.) Use water to lightly wet scoop before working the dough. Scoop rounded teaspoons of dough onto prepared baking sheets, about 2 inches apart. Bake until cookies rise, crack slightly, and are golden brown, about 12 to 15 minutes. Remove from oven and cool completely before removing from baking sheet with a thin metal spatula. Store in an airtight container. Amaretti cookie instructions To Serve: Top each Budino serving with an Amaretti Cookie, whipped cream, and a cherry. Our mouths are watering at the thought of enjoying this varied dessert. During this year’s Epcot International Festival of the Arts, you will be able to enjoy amazing and beautiful Latin-inspired dishes. You can start by visiting El Artista Hambriento Food Studio near the Mexico pavilion, where they are featuring Sopes de Barbacoa: braised barbacoa beef served on fried Guajillo corn shell with black beans, cotija cheese, Mexican cream and chives; an Agave Pork Belly: pork belly caramelized with Agave atop pumpkin seed pesto lentil salad. To drink, you can’t miss the Frida Banana Daiquiri: a Mexican handcrafted rum, banana puree and applejack (served frozen); a Diego Blackberry Margarita: 100% Agave tequila, blackberry purée, fresh jalapeño-lime juice served with black ant salt rim; and a Mexican White Sangria: white wine, fruit juices, and sweet cinnamon-infused tequila. Todo muy delicioso! Next, go by Pop Eats, located in Showcase Plaza, and order the Shrimp Ceviche with lime-mint foam. We are sharing the recipe with you below so you can make it at casa! Last but not least, time for dessert! Stop by the Refreshment Outpost, located in the African Outpost, where you can find these colorful Paintbrush Churros! These cinnamon-sugar churros are dipped in colorful white chocolate. Una obra de arte! Here’s the Shrimp Ceviche recipe! Shrimp Ceviche with Lime-Mint Foam Serves 4 Shrimp Ceviche 2 cups diced cooked shrimp (about 2/3 pound) 1/2 cup diced red onions 1/4 cup diced green pepper 1/4 cup diced red bell pepper 1 jalapeno pepper, seeded and diced 1/4 cup thinly sliced green onions 1/4 cup orange juice 1/2 cup lime juice 1 tablespoon sugar 1/2 cup diced mango 1/4 cup chopped cilantro Salt, to taste Black pepper, to taste Lime-Mint Foam 1/2 cup water 1/2 cup lime juice 1 teaspoon soy lecithin 1 tablespoon sugar 1/2 cup chopped fresh mint For Shrimp Ceviche: 1. Combine shrimp, red onion, green pepper, red pepper, jalapeno, and green onion in a glass mixing bowl. 2. In a small bowl, combine orange juice, lime juice, and sugar. Stir until sugar is dissolved. Pour over shrimp mixture. 3. Add mango and cilantro and stir to combine. Season with salt and pepper to taste. 4. Set aside. For Lime-Mint Foam: 1. Combine water, lime juice, soy lecithin, sugar, and mint in a large mixing bowl. 2. Whip using a whisk or immersion blender until foam develops on the top. Allow to stand for 1 minute. To Serve: Evenly divide ceviche among 4 bowls. Spoon 2 tablespoons lime-mint foam on top of ceviche. Epcot International Festival of the Arts takes place through Feb. 24. Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway Entrance Hollywood Studios had extended its hours again from January 27th through February 2nd, 2020! While previously we told you Hollywood Studios had extended its hours through January 26th, it looks like Disney’s done it again! Disney World’s website now confirms Hollywood Studios will be opening at 7 AM every day now through February 2nd, 2o20. ©Disney And FOR NOW, Hollywood Studios is reporting the park will open at 9 AM starting February 4th, but that could change! Disney seems to be “playing it by ear” a lot lately due to the demand for Rise of the Resistance! ©Disney And remember, to get your boarding group to ride Rise of the Resistance, you must be INSIDE the park and have your MagicBand or park ticket already scanned at the gate. Then you’re free to use the My Disney Experience mobile app to reserve your spot once the park officially opens at 7 AM! Even if you get a boarding group, expect another wait once your boarding group is called! It’s time to grab your Mickey Chinese Hot Dog Buns and Smoked Beef Bulgogi!! The 2020 Lunar New Year festival at Disney California Adventure has finally begun! Decorations Happening now through February 4th, 2020, we have been having a blast celebrating the “Year of the Mouse” over in DCA. And while we’ve already told ya about some of the amazing entertainment (like our girl Mulan and her Lunar New Year Procession!) we’re BACK to talk about all DEM festival EATS! That’s right, folks! It’s time for our rundown of the Lunar New Year’s Best of the Fest sips and snacks! Oh, and didya know you can use MOBILE ORDER this year at the Festival Booths? YOU CAN!!! It’s a GAME CHANGER! Lunar New Year Mobile Order Check out this year’s Lunar New Year Festival booths and menus HERE! 2020 Lunar New Year BEST OF THE FEST Firecracker Three Cup Chicken Wings from Red Dragon Spice Traders These crispy chicken wings are tossed in a spicy red chili pepper sauce, sesame oil, rice wine, and soy! We loved them so much last year, we just had to get ’em again! They’re seriously FIRE! Get ’em for $7.50! Firecracker Three Cup Chicken Honey Lime Green Tea from Red Dragon Spice Traders The new Honey Lime Green Tea for $6 had a nice, mild flavor! While we definitely tasted the honey, the drink wasn’t too sweet! We spiked ours with bourbon for $13 but we didn’t find the alcohol to be too overpowering. In fact, it was quite refreshing! Honey Lime Green Tea Honorable Mention: Shrimp & Ginger Dumplings from Red Dragon Spice Traders The Shrimp & Ginger Dumplings from Red Dragon Spice Traders are very tasty as well — we just slightly preferred the Firecracker Chicken over them! Served with a soy reduction sauce, and sriracha-mayonnaise, this dish packed a real punch of flavor. If you’re looking for a yummy seafood option, go with these guys for $8.25. Shrimp and Ginger Dumplings Check out our review of everything on the menu at Red Dragon Spice Traders here! Chicken Meatballs and Lo Mein Noodles from Longevity Noodle Co. Do yourself a favor and grab the Chicken Meatballs and Lo Mein Noodles for $7.50! It’s a hearty portion of lo mein noodles, well-seasoned ground chicken (so yeah, it’s kinda healthy, too!), and comes served with a cabbage salad and apple-ginger sauce on top. YUM!!! Chicken Meatballs and Lo Mein Noodles Black Sesame Mochi Donut from Longevity Noodle Co. You know we love to “Mochi Donut and chill” at Disney California Adventure this time of year. It’s always one of our favorite bites at the Lunar New Year fest, and this year’s no exception! Pick this one up for $6! Mochi Donut The donut was perfectly moist, with a great texture. The flavor came through, and was just the perfect amount of sweet! The seeds on top were also a great addition, giving the donut a nice crunch to every bite. Honorable Mention: Vegetable Egg Roll and Chilled Sesame-Garlic Noodles from Longevity Noodle Co. We’re giving this dish a special shout out because we’re BIG fans of the chilled sesame-garlic noodles that accompany the vegetarian egg roll. The egg roll is fine and all, but it’s not the main draw and doesn’t really stand out to us. The noodles, however, are very TASTY! This dish costs $7 — we just wish it came with more noodles for the price! We’d even forgo the eggroll entirely in lieu of more NOODS! Smoked Beef Bulgogi Short Rib from Lucky 8 Lantern The Smoked Beef Bulgogi Short Rib at Lucky 8 Lantern is new this year and was maybe the best thing we ate ALL DAY! The short rib comes served with a cake of steamed white rice and a crispy green onion salad. LOVE the portion size, flavors, and textures of this delicious festival offering which costs $8.25! Beef Bulgogi Peach Sojito from Lucky 8 Lantern And speaking of our top picks for our BEST of the FEST list, the Lucky 8 Lantern also has our favorite drink! The new Peach Sojito is a classic mojito — with a Korean twist! It’s made with craft soju, Simply Peach, house-made mint-infused simple syrup, fresh lime juice, and soda water. Pick one up for 13 bucks! Peach Sojito Honorable Mention: Shrimp Fried Rice from Lucky 8 Lantern It’s hard to compete with the flavor powerhouse that is the Smoked Beef Bulgogi Short Rib, but the Shrimp Fried Rice is also really tasty! It’s served with garlic-bacon edamame and a pile of deliciously deep-fried breaded shrimp! This dish will cost ya $8! Mickey Chinese Hot Dog Bun from Prosperity Bao and Buns The Mickey Chinese Hot Dog Bun is one of the most fun festival eats of them all! I mean, who doesn’t appreciate a Mickey-shaped food novelty — especially when it studded with chunks of hot dog! You can chow down on this adorable eat for $7. Mickey Chinese Hot Dog Bun Mango Pineapple Pastry from Prosperity Bao and Buns We’re obsessed with this flaky, sweet Mango-Pineapple Pastry which is layers of wonderful crust filled with pineapple jelly and diced mango! It’s a nice, sweet contrast to the Mickey Chinese Hot Dog Bun, plus it comes topped with a Mickey-shaped piece of pastry! Mango Pineapple Pastry Honorable Mention: Lychee-Grapefruit Gin Spritzer from Prosperity Bao and Buns The Lychee-Grapefruit Gin Spritzer is also new to the festival this year! While we preferred the Peach Sojito, this drink was super tasty too — especially if you’re a grapefruit lover!
