  1. Remember that new food booth that arrived last year and was held INSIDE the Canada pavilion’s Circle-Vison theater? Appleseed Orchard inside World Showplace Its name was Appleseed Orchard, and guess what? It has returned for 2020’s Taste of EPCOT International Food and Wine Festival. Since Canada’s new film, Canada Far and Wide has reclaimed its former digs, you’ll now find Appleseed Orchard and three additional Food and Wine food booths all under one roof (or should we say tent?). Either way, you’ll find Appleseed Orchard, Wine & Dine featuring Festival Favorites, Desserts & Champagne, and Mac and Cheese Hosted by Boursin Cheese at Festival World Showcase next to the UK pavilion. Appleseed Orchard And it appears since the venue is indoors, you may have to enter a virtual queue in order to enter the Festival World Showcase which you can learn more about here! Menu Let’s take a look all the apple-y offerings this year on Appleseed Orchard’s menu! Appleseed Orchard Menu Looks like a bunch of the stuff they had last year has come back which is great news for this Appleseed Orchard-loving crew! Food First up, the Charcuterie and Cheese Plate featuring Burton’s Maplewood Farm Applejack Brandy Barrel Aged Maple Syrup for $6.50 is back on the menu — perfect for pairing with some of Appleseed Orchard’s Hard Ciders which we’ll get to in just a sec! Charcuterie and Cheese Board And it looks like the Caramel-Apple Popcorn for $7 has also returned! It still comes in a cute apple-shaped souvenir container, too! Caramel Popcorn Container But we all know the main reason for stopping by Appleseed Orchard — the BREWS! Let’s take a look at the drink offerings next! Beverage The non-alcoholic Frozen Apple Pie has returned. It’s a pretty sweet drink that sorta reminds us of a Frozen Apple Pie? Maybe not, but it’s still a tasty slushy drink topped with crumbs of streusel. Pick this pick up for $4.00! Frozen Apple Pie And unfortunately, beer flights aren’t a thing at the Taste of EPCOT International Food and Wine Festival. We’ll be more than happy to see them return someday, but for now, you can still get all your favorite beers from last year by the glass. No matter your choice of beer, 6oz. glasses are $4.50 while 12oz. glasses cost $8.50! Here are your delicious options at Appleseed Orchard! There’s the Short’s Brewing Co. Mule Beer, Elk Rapids, MI… Short’s Brewing Company Starcut Ciders Mosa Hard Cider …Heavy Seas Brewery TropiCannon Citrus IPA, Halethorpe, MI… Heavy Seas Brewery TropiCannon Citrus IPA …Parish Brewing Co. Ghost in the Machine Double IPA, Broussard, LA… Parish Brewing Co. Appleseed Orchard Beers Of the ones we tried, we loved the Ghost in the Machine Double IPA! Of the beers we’ve sampled at this year’s festival so far, we really enjoyed this one! Simply put, it’s a phenomenal beer! Appleseed Orchard Beers For all you non-beer drinkers out there, you can sip on the appealing Apple Blossom Sky — a drink made with Apple Fanta, Ginger Beer, Floodwall Apple Brandy, and Burton’s Maplewood Farm Applejack Brandy Barrel-Aged Syrup that’s topped with Mini Marshmallows! Apple Blossom Sky As you can see, there are a LOT of apple flavors happening with this drink (as one would expect at a booth called Appleseed Orchard!). And the little cup it comes served in is too cute! This beverage costs $11.00. Apple Blossom Sky You know what they say — the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree and we’ll be spending a good chunk of our summer sampling Appleseed Orchard’s wares. 2. The reopenings of Disney’s Hollywood Studios, EPCOT, and Disneyland Paris aren’t the only major developments surrounding the Disney parks today! Hollywood Studios Several park leadership changes are in the works — and it appears that one of them has already taken effect! Earlier this year, Phil Holmes, the Vice President of Disney’s Hollywood Studios, announced his plan to retire from the company in August 2020. Holmes is a longtime Disney World Cast Member, having worked for the company for almost 50 years. Sunset Boulevard And based on a message some park guests received in the My Disney Experience app, it appears that Jackie Swisher has now taken over the role of Vice President of Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Swisher most recently served as the Vice President of Worldwide Safety Services for Disney Parks. Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run Queue And there’s another Disney executive shake-up to report! Michael Colglazier, the President and Managing Director of Disney Parks International is leaving The Walt Disney Company to step into the role of CEO for Virgin Galactic. 4. We’ve been running around the grand reopening of EPCOT and checking out new eats and merch! Mouse Gear A storm hit while were chowing down on Food & Wine bites so we ducked inside Mouse Gear to see if anything new appeared. We were stopped dead in our tracks when we laid eyes on the most dazzlin’ pair of Minnie Ears! Can you imagine walking right down the middle of Main Street, U.S.A. while wearing these cuties? Just when we think we couldn’t fit another pair of Minnie Ears into our collection this pair comes waltzing into our life. New Minnie Ears Close-up you can see that the ears are plastic bubbles filled with sequin stars and tiny Mickey heads. Excuse us while we squeal with joy! 5. One of the most high-demand parks in a reopened Disney World is Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Rise of the Resistance We’re not super surprised that everyone is eager to get into Hollywood Studios. After all, with limited capacities, you might think it would be simpler than ever to get your chance to ride Rise of the Resistance in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. We took a spin on this mega-high-demand attraction today and there have DEFINITELY been some changes. Take a look! The Queue Like other attractions in the reopened parks, Rise of Resistance features an altered queue to support physical distancing. Before heading into the ride, we noted hand sanitizer stations like we’ve seen in tons of other places around the parks. Hand Sanitizer Of course, social distancing stickers were featured for the length of the queue areas. With the Virtual Queue, most of the queue was walkable though. Distancing Stickers Once you reach areas with switchbacks, you’ll notice that plexiglass barriers have been installed to keep guests safe. Plexiglass Barriers This continues later in the First Order queue areas of the ride as well Plexiglass Barriers But enough about the line, let’s talk about the changes we saw on the RIDE! Changes to the Ride Rise of the Resistance features a number of pre-shows, so we were super interested to see how these had been modified without affecting the story. All of the preshows are still being used! Each party is assigned a number to stand on and they keep the same number for all of the preshow areas. If you’re standing on “1,” keep an eye out for “1” in the next room. Standing Zones It was nice to see that the preshows were still running as some other attractions have cut them for the time being. Rise Preshow The numbers are specifically distanced in each area so as to give each party a good view of the preshows and plenty of space. Rise Preshow When you reach the Hangar Bay (AKA the Stormtrooper room), you’ll notice distancing markers on the ground. Stormtrooper Room These are so you get a chance to pause and take pictures while still giving others their space. When you load into the actual ride vehicles, it’s one party per vehicle. And yes, it IS scary if you ride alone. Kylo Ren is coming for YOU! Stormtrooper Room Riding Rise of the Resistance isn’t quite what it used to be, but it’s also not all that different! We noticed that the virtual queues did still fill up almost instantly like we had seen pre-closure (some things never change!), and we could see some guests disappointed they didn’t secure a chance to ride. Overall the ride is still just as fun and exciting, even with the new changes in place. Keep checking into DFB this week as we try to answer ALL of your questions about the reopened Disney parks! We’re LIVE from the reopening day of Hollywood Studios! Click here to follow along! Will you be hoping for a spot on Rise of the Resistance soon? Tell us in the comments! 6. Disney’s Hollywood Studios has officially reopened its gates to guests! Disney’s Hollywood Studios entrance The reopened Disney World parks have implemented a number of new health measures for the safety of both guests and Cast Members, including required face coverings for all Cast Members and guests age two and older. With all of the changes around the parks, we wanted to see what it’s like to ride some of our favorite attractions — like Slinky Dog Dash! While Disney’s Hollywood Studios looked more crowded today relative to the other grand reopenings we’ve attended, Slinky Dog Dash’s wait time has been fluctuating pretty drastically throughout the day. When the park first opened, it had a posted wait time of 65 minutes, but by mid-afternoon, the wait time had dropped down to a 25-minute posted wait. Every now and then it would climb back up, but we were able to strike while the iron was still hot! Slinky Dog Dash Speaking of hot, it’s a pretty hot day, so we’re anxious to make our way to the shaded area of Slinky Dog Dash’s queue! Click here to see ALL of our coverage from Hollywood Studios’ grand reopening day! Since guests were socially distancing, the line appeared longer at times than it actually was. Markers have been placed throughout the queue area showing guests where they can stand. Slinky Dog Dash Plexiglass barriers have been installed in several segments of the queue where physical distancing is more challenging. Slinky Dog Dash Queue Area Since the queue for Slinky Dog Dash doubles back on itself, these walls will provide guests with protection when six feet of space cannot be achieved. Slinky Dog Dash Once we got up to the loading area, we saw Cast Members were wearing plastic face shields in addition to their face masks. Cars were being loaded every-other row with empty seats between each party. There was a hand sanitizer station located right next to the entrance before boarding. Loading Area Cast Members didn’t appear to be wiping down the seats in between guests when we rode Slinky Dog Dash today. We’ll be sure to try and find out more information regarding how frequently they’ll be cleaning the attraction on future visits. Loading Area Other than having to wear our face mask for the entire ride, the rest of Slinky Dog Dash was the same as we’d remembered it! We were especially excited to see the big finale again featuring our old pal Wheezy! Wheezy at Slinky Dog Dash We’ll be back with more of our adventures soon, but for now, check out what our first time returning to Oga’s Cantina at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge was like here! 7. We’re back at Walt Disney World’s EPCOT today stuffing ourselves silly with all the 2020 Food and Wine Festival offerings we can fit in our mouths as the Taste of EPCOT International Food and Wine Festival has made its official debut on the same day as the park itself has started to welcome guests again! 2020 Food and Wine Festival In what will go down in history as EPCOT’s longest-running festival, this hybrid fest is part Flower and Garden, part Food and Wine, and ALL KINDS of yumminess! Now we’re heading into the World ShowPlace pavilion, which is home to FOUR of the Festival Marketplace Booths this year. (Be sure to learn a little more about the unique way to access this pavilion here.) World ShowPlace And that includes our current destination, Wine and Dine featuring Festival Favorites! Festival Favorites Let’s take a look at the menu. Menu Last year, what was known as the Wine and Dine Studio featured Seared Scallops and a really delicious Butternut Squash Ravioli along with an Artist’s Palette of Wine and Cheese. This year, however, they’re doing things a little bit differently. Wine and Dine Festival Favorites Since only 20 marketplace food booths returned for a Taste of EPCOT (what they’re calling this modified-version of Food and Wine) some booths didn’t make the cut. But don’t fret — Wine and Dine has become a kind of “Best of Food and Wine Fest” catch-all featuring a menu of Festival Favorites from over the years for 2020! Festival Favorites Menu That way, instead of scampering around the World Showcase to find many of your favorite goodies, they’re now conveniently located in just one spot! Some have even time-traveled to be here it seems! (You’ll see what we mean in a sec…) Food Even though Poland hasn’t been at the Food and Wine party for some time, EPCOT has decided to bring back the popular food booth (in spirit) this year by serving up their famous Kielbasa and Potato Pierogi with Caramelized Onions and Sour Cream for $5.50. Kielbasa and Potato Pierogi with Caramelized Onions and Sour Cream This dish is super tasty and PACKED with flavor… though we do we wish it was packed with a little more filling. But overall, it’s still a great pick. Next up, another blast from Food and Wine Festival’s past — the Seafood Fisherman’s Pie for $6.50 from Ireland’s food booth of yesteryear! Seafood Fisherman’s Pie Tucked under that golden pile of mashed potatoes are shrimp (ours had two large), chunks of lobster, and delicious scallops. SO glad to see this dish come back, and we know others are, too! If it’s a new-to-you dish and you love seafood, for sure put this on your list! Last but not least — it’s GREECE! We were pretty bummed when we found out Greece’s food booth wouldn’t be back for EPCOT’s Food and Wine Festival this year, but it was sweet moussaka to our ears when we heard their Spanakopita would be returning! Spanakopita Pick up one of these flaky-layered beauties with nice, creamy filling for $4.25. Beverages Just when you didn’t think the Wine and Dine could get any better, they’re bringing the THUNDER with Ireland’s Guinness Baileys Milkshake! Guinness Baileys Milkshake And, YES, the signature serving cup returned along with it! You’ll love this boozy, chocolatey drink made from Guinness and the famous Irish liqueur — it’s a Food and Wine-MUST! A glass of this good stuff costs $11! Guinness Baileys Milkshake As for the wine at Wine and Dine, the Forge Cellars Dry Riesling Classique, Seneca Lake has moved over to Wine and Dine for 2020! You can try some for $7 a glass. And so has their Conundrum Red Blend from California available for $6 a glass and tenshən Rhône Style White Blend, Central Coast for $7 a glass. Lang & Reed Wine Company Cabernet Franc and North Coast Frog’s Leap Zinfandel, Napa Valley from Appleseed Orchard’s menu last year are also available for $10 a glass. Meanwhile, you’ll also find Kurt Russell’s Gogi Wines Pinot Noir, Santa Rita Hills for $16 a glass. And last, but not least, the Bleu Spectrum has made its way back! The champagne cocktail features Blanc de Bleu Cuvée Mousseux with Boba Pearls and originally appeared at Food and Wine back in 2017 at Light Lab. In fact, it even made our Best of the Fest that year! Bleu Spectrum While it tastes pretty much like blueberry sparkling chardonnay with some popping pearls thrown in, it’s still pretty entertaining watching the boba pearls bounce around. Bleu Spectrum Pick one up for $9! What’s old is new and EXCITING again at Wine and Dine featuring Festival Favorites! We think it’s pretty neat of EPCOT to put together a greatest hits food booth of its own! Of course, we’ll be back to give you our Best of the Fest draft picks in just a little bit, but until then, you can check out our full review of Mexico’s food booth (just one among our many others) here! France’s booth is still serving a bunch of our favorite foods and beverages from Epcot’s Flower and Garden Fest! Click here to find out which ones! 8. Shimmering Sips is back at EPCOT’s Food and Wine Festival and we can’t wait to get our fizzle on! Shimmering Sips Booth We’ve been muchin’ on tacos in Mexico and indulging on a lobster tail at The Citrus Blossom. We finally made our way to the Shimmering Sips Mimosa Bar! We couldn’t wait to get our hands on a sparkly mimosa and shimmering sweet! As always, Shimmering Sips offers a variety of mimosas mixed with different juices and liquors. They also provide a couple of treats to pair with your drink! Shimmering Sips Menu We were looking forward to sipping on the Frozen Mimosa made with White Claw again. The drink menu has been paired down a bit this year. No worries! We can still enjoy the mimosas they provided. Plexiglass at Ordering Register at Shimmering Sips The Tropical Mimosa is made with passion fruit, orange, and guava juices! It’s a literal POG Mimosa! What more could you ask for? Tropical Mimosa The Key Lime Mimosa is a tangy blend of key lime sparkling wine and cranberry juice. This mimosa was definitely refreshing for us on a hot Florida day, but the flavor doesn’t pack quite the same punch as the other two options. Key Lime Mimosa The Blood Orange Mimosa is a citrus blend of sparkling wine and blood orange juice. This one had a more intense flavor than the other two, as blood orange fans may be able to attest to. If you’re a blood orange fan, this mimosa is for YOU! Blood Orange Mimosa All of the mimosas are $6.00. Not a fan of watering down your sparkling wine with juices? Try the Banfi Rosa Regale Sparkling Red for$10.00! Key Lime, Blood Orange, and Tropical Mimosas In need of sweets? Try the GORGEOUS Strawberry Soft-Serve dipped covered in sprinkles and served in a Waffle Cone for $5.25. Shimmering Strawberry Soft Serve A new addition this year is the Banana Bread with Mixed Berry Compote for $4.50. This dessert is another plant-based option for plant-loving friends! We were rather surprised by the banana bread and thought it was quite tasty! Banana Bread with Mixed Berry Compote There’s no doubt this booth is a crowd-favorite! 9. You know we love cupcakes! So, you can imagine how excited we were to find a new treat waiting for us at the Market at Ale and Compass! Say Hello To the Newest Cupcake at Walt Disney World! The Welcome Home Confetti Cupcake looks like the perfect snack to celebrate a day filled with excitement from the re-opening of Disney’s Hollywood Studios and EPCOT. The festive-looking treat has a yellow cake base with colored sprinkles scattered throughout the whole cupcake. Floating on top of the cake is an ocean of blue frosting with a yellow-colored white chocolate fish swimming on top. A trail of edible pearls and a thin piece of gold-letter embossed chocolate round out the Welcome Home Confetti Cupcake. A Closer Look At the Welcome Home Confetti Cupcake So, is the Welcome Home Confetti Cupcake a sweet and delicious celebration? The cupcake looks like a party but, unfortunately, is pretty boring. The cake was dry and, aside from the fun colored sprinkles, largely forgettable. The thick layer of frosting on top was typical vanilla buttercream, except for the vibrant color, which can get a bit messy. Again, we were hoping for something a little more exciting for a cupcake meant to welcome us home to Walt Disney World. A Look Inside The Welcome Home Confetti Cake For $5.99 plus tax, this is a fun treat if you’re looking for a commemorative snack, but there are better cupcakes to be found around Disney World. 10. It has been quite the FULL day with some FULL stomachs tasting our way around the Taste of EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival! Italy We’ve been traveling around the booths in World Showcase to see what stand-outs the festival has to offer this year! The Italy booth is a returning Food & Wine Festival staple. But how do the dishes stack up this year at A Taste of EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival? Let’s take a look! Food The menu in Italy includes a Margherita Flatbread, Tortellini, and Cannoli, plus a wide selection of Wine and Sangria. Italy Menu We started off with the Margherita, an Italian flatbread with tomato sauce and mozzarella cheese. We weren’t wowed by the flatbread — the cheese didn’t have much flavor and overall we would say it was a pretty average piece of pizza. If you’re looking for something super basic for a picky eater, the Margherita might do the trick. But other than that, we’d suggest saving the $7.95 (and stomach space!) for other festival eats! Margherita Next, we tried La Classica, which is made with cheese tortellini with ricotta, provolone, fontina, parmesan, vodka sauce, and crispy bacon. The strongest flavor in this menu item is definitely the bacon! Although the bacon flavor might have stood out so much because the sauce was pretty bland in comparison. We liked the tortellini more than the Margherita, but at $8.50, we don’t know that we’d order this again! La Classica We rounded out our stop at the Italy booth with the Cannoli Siciliani — a crisp pastry filled with sweet ricotta, chocolate, and candied orange. This wasn’t our favorite dessert of the day, but we did enjoy it! To us, it had a subtle cinnamon flavor. But we could see this one being a “love it or hate it” dessert. You can grab a cannoli for $4.95 to see which side of the fence you’re on! Cannoli Siciliani There you have it, a peek at all of the food items you’ll find on the menu at the Italy booth! Food from the Italy Booth So, now that we’ve had a chance to mull over our meal, we doubled-back for something refreshing to sip on! Check out all of the booth menus from this year’s EPCOT Food & Wine Festival! Drinks The Italy Booth offers one of the larger drink selections at the festival this year, including White and Red Sangrias! The Italian Red Sangria is made with Cabernet Sauvignon… Italian Red Sangria with Cabernet Sauvignon …and the Italian White Sangria is made with Prosecco! Italian White Sangria with Prosecco When in Rome…one drinks Sangria! And you can’t go wrong with a sip of something refreshing on a hot Florida afternoon. Overall We weren’t blown away by any of the food we tasted at the Italy booth this year. Of the three options, our favorite was La Classica (the tortellini!), but we still think there’s better food throughout the festival. If one of these items sounds like your dream meal, then stop by to give it a try. But we’d say none of the Italy eats are must-dos for us! Get your fill at a different booth, and stop by Italy for one of their many beverage options if your goal is to hit up all the booths this year! 11. We’re back exploring Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at the reopening of Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Oga’s Cantina with Modified Seating It’s not a trip to Batuu without a pit stop at Oga’s Cantina! Disney pre-warned us that the dining experience would be a little different than it was prior to closing and we got to see what that was all about today! Let’s start with the things that have stayed the same. Guests are still required to make a reservation via My Disney Experience in order to enter Oga’s. It’s best you make it as far in advance as you can! And yes, DJ R3X is still in there throwin’ mad beats. Fairly Empty Oga’s Cantina You’ll head to the restaurant once your reservation time arrived. Outside, is a QR code that you will scan with your phone camera. This will allow you to check-in for your reservation. Mobile Dine Check In Once inside, guests can stay for a maximum of 45 minutes. Guests are required to wear masks at all times except when they are eating or drinking. Oga’s Cantina Travel groups are spaced out between booths and standing tables. To keep physical distancing, guests are asked to not walk around the restaurant. Carbon Freeze We did visit pretty early in the day today, but overall the general experience at Oga’s felt different to us. While it was nice to be able to experience a crowd-less Oga’s, we felt that the atmosphere was a little different. People weren’t singing along to the music and things didn’t feel as upbeat and exciting. Health and safety protocols will continue to change update as Disney World ramps up again. We will be sure to keep you updated as we experience new things in Galaxy’s Edge and beyond! Want to hear about our experience riding the newly re-opened Rise of the Resistance? Check it out here! 12. The Disney Parks have officially reopened, but we’re still feeling the ripples of the closures. EPCOT We’ve been hanging out around EPCOT today checking out everything that’s changed since we were last here AND the 2020 Taste of EPCOT Food & Wine Festival. One hidden change we found was in the EPCOT Experience where the Spaceship Earth refurbishment and the upcoming Mary Poppins attraction have been removed from the “coming soon” video. Now, Disney has issued a statement about these two attractions. We already know that the closure postponed the refurbishment of Spaceship Earth. In fact, construction halts had an effect on all sorts of projects in Disney parks around the world. The removal of these attractions from the video caught our eye. Could this mean these changes weren’t going to happen? Mary Poppins in Epcot According to Attractions Magazine, Disney has released the following statement pertaining to the two attractions: “As with most businesses during this period, we are further evaluating long-term project plans. The decision was made to postpone development of [the] ‘Mary Poppins’-inspired attraction and Spaceship Earth at this time.” Epcot Experience So it seems that the Spaceship Earth refurbishment and the Mary Poppins attraction are postponed, for the time being, not yet fully canceled! We’ll monitor the status of these two projects and share any news with you as it’s released! Keep an eye on DFB for all of the latest updates about Disney World and beyond! 13. While our eyes have been closely watching the reopenings of Walt Disney World’s EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios today, there’s another park reopening across the ocean! ©Disney Disney shared the news of today’s opening of the Disneyland Paris theme park, Walt Disney Studios Park, Disney Village, and Disney’s Newport Bay Club Hotel. “Some experiences have been reimagined, some provide a new way for guests to be part of the magic, and some will be temporarily unavailable and return at a later date, but the timeless magic and unique storytelling for which the resort is known will remain,” according to Disney. 17. We’re back in Hollywood Studios today! Rise of the Resistance at Hollywood Studios Like everyone else who’s made their way to Hollywood Studios on its reopening day, we have one attraction that rises above the others on our priority list. Rise of the Resistance is still the highest-demand ride in Disney World. To help with the lines, Disney has implemented a Virtual Queue — and it’s a totally new system than it was before the closures! Instead of there being one big window to get a spot in the queue, guests in Hollywood Studios have three chances — 10AM, 1PM, and 4PM. It used to be that you had two hours to return when your boarding group was called; now it’s only one hour and we MISSED our window! Here’s what happened! Today, we were able to get a spot in the first queue at 10AM. We were assigned boarding group 26, so we had a good few hours to poke around the park. When our group was called to return to Rise of the Resistance, we were due to head to our Advance Dining Reservation at 50’s Prime Time Cafe at the same time! Uh oh! Virtual Queue Luckily, Cast Members at Rise of the Resistance let us know that they would be lenient since we had a conflicting dining reservation. Sure enough, once our hour was up (we were still trying to get into the clean plate club!), we noticed that our Virtual Queue screen had changed to tell us that we had missed the window. Virtual Queue That one-hour return window is NOT super long so make sure you keep an eye on the boarding group calls if you’re waiting for your turn. Missing that window could mean you miss your chance at Rise of the Resistance for the day. Luckily, Cast Members were willing to accommodate due to our Advance Dining Reservation. So, after our meal, we headed back to Galaxy’s Edge. When we arrived at the attraction, we found out that it was closed for technical difficulties. So, we spoke to a Guest Relations Cast Member who explained that since we’d had a boarding group and the attraction had shut down, we would be able to ride whenever once everything was up and running. Rise of the Resistance Whew! That was a close call, huh? We’ll definitely be heading back to get our Rise of the Resistance ride in later, but we might wait for a little after the attraction comes up. It’s possible that physical lines could get long as folks who weren’t able to ride flood back to the attraction. Rise of the Resistance If a similar situation happens to you, make sure you talk to a Cast Member! You never know when a dining reservation or unexpected ride closure could get between you and Rise. Stay tuned to DFB as we take you around a reopened Hollywood Studios ALL DAY! We’re LIVE from the reopening of Hollywood Studios! Click here to follow along! 18. Greetings, World travelers. We’re at EPCOT today for its historic grand reopening. And who are we kidding…we’re also here to sample more items at the Food and Wine marketplace food booths scattered throughout the World Showcase. Bonjour Remy! So far, we’ve already shown you what crowd levels look like for the first day of the Taste of EPCOT International Food and Wine Festival, which is also making history today. It will be the longest-running EPCOT Food and Wine festival of all time, plus you’ll find parts of EPCOT’s Flower and Garden Festival patchworked in. But if you’ve got rides on your mind, you’re probably curious to see how long the wait times are for your favorite EPCOT attractions. Let’s take a look! 12PM EPCOT opened at 11AM this morning, but wait times weren’t showing up in the My Disney Experience right away. Around 12PM the system was chuggin’ along better and we could see the crowds were giving Living with the Land, Spaceship Earth, and The Seas with Nemo & Friends some lovin’. Screenshot of Wait Times Mission: SPACE was up to a 25-minute wait while Frozen Ever After was up to 30 minutes at noon today. Test Track and Soarin’ still seemed to be winning the popularity contest with EPCOT’s longest posted waits. Screenshot of Wait Times None of these wait times look too shabby when you compare them to the wait times that we’re seeing at Disney’s Hollywood Studios for its reopening day. 1PM When we checked in again an hour later, some wait times had crept up. Gran Fiesta Tour was up to 15 minutes while Journey into Imagination with Figment has a noticeably longer wait time of 25 minutes. Screenshot of Wait Times Mission: SPACE and Frozen Ever After were about the same. But check out Living with the Land! It’s lept up to 40-minutes and taken third place right behind Soarin’ and Test Track for the longest posted wait! Screenshot of Wait Times Test Track was up to an hour at 1PM making it the longest wait time at EPCOT we’ve seen so far. 2PM At 2PM, Spaceship Earth was practically a walk-on while Living with the Land was back down to a more-reasonable 15-minute wait. Screenshot of Wait Times Mission: SPACE had dropped down to a 15-minute wait and uh-oh! Test Track unexpectedly closed! Screenshot of Wait Times We’ll check back in a little bit to see if Test Track has reopened and we’ll be updating this post throughout the day. For now, you can see what our experience riding Disney’s Skyliner for the first time since the closures was like here! 19. We’re live from the grand reopening of EPCOT in Walt Disney World! Epcot Experience Sign Prior to closing, EPCOT had announced a huge overhaul to the theme park. EPCOT would get a new look and add attractions like the Moana-inspired Journey of Water and a new PLAY! Pavilion with interactive experiences and characters. The new attractions and overhaul is displayed in the EPCOT Experience video. Today, we noticed something huge missing from the EPCOT Experience video. Well, TWO huge somethings missing from the video! The first missing scene is the depiction of the Mary Poppins attraction. The new attraction was announced during the D23 Expo in 2019. It was based on the Mary Poppins movies and set to open in the UK Pavilion in World Showcase. Mary Poppins in Epcot Hardly any details were released about the new attraction and there was no opening date set in stone. This is a possible indication that the attraction is no longer in play and could be cut from production or that it has been delayed for the time being. But of course, nothing is confirmed and we’re keeping our fingers crossed that will still see this attraction come to life. Mary Poppins Attraction ©Disney The second cut is the re-imagining of Spaceship Earth. The attraction was supposed to get a major refurbishment including new scenes, narration, and improved technology. (The silver lining is that Dame Judy Dench may be here to stay.) Prior to EPCOT’s reopening, Disney shared that “the iconic Spaceship Earth attraction at EPCOT will also continue to be available in its current state while we pause on its planned refurbishment.” Transformation of Epcot ©Disney Construction outside of Spaceship Earth has already begun. The Leave a Legacy Monoliths have been removed and walls continue to go up around the area. The refurbishment inside the ride hadn’t started prior to closing and the ride is operating as normal right now. Our Shared Story Wall Other attractions like Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure and Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind have NOT been cut from the show. We will keep you posted as we learn more about possible cuts and additions to Disney World. Want to see what else is new at EPCOT? Follow along with us! 20. We’re keeping you up to date everything happening at Disney’s Hollywood Studios’ reopening today! It’s been busy and we’ve noticed crowds backing up in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge Pre-Closure Long waits and crowds are nothing new for attractions like Rise of the Resistance. But, the backups we’re seeing aren’t ride-related! The Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge area is quite busy despite limited guest capacity and ticket reservations. Galaxy’s Edge Crowds If you’ve visited Galaxy’s Edge before, you may know that the Marketplace area is full of VERY SMALL shops guests can stroll in and out of as they shop. This area seems to have its own procedure for entering and shopping and is roped off to limit guest access. Marketplace Galaxy Edge’s shops are limiting how many people can go into the stores at one time to preserve social distancing. Guests stand in line on designated (and socially distant) spots to await entry into the Marketplace area to visit various Galaxy’s Edge shops. Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge Crowds Wait Their Turn To Shop Cast Members told us each small store is only letting in one party at a time. They’re allowing a set number of groups into the marketplace at a time and from there they can visit each store for their turn to get in. Outside of the Marketplace, other shopping locations in the land have different capacity limits to keep down the numbers of people inside. For example, we were told by a Cast Member that Dok Ondar’s can have only 26 people at one time in their store. As a result, lines of guests are forming to get into the shop. Each party waits on a marker to enter the store of their choice, but cannot do so until another party leaves the shop. Dok Ondar’s So, if you’re planning to shop at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge shops anytime soon, then make sure to pack a little extra patience because you may have a longer wait than usual. 21. Moments ago, we showed you what the crowd levels looked like at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, but now it’s time to get some perspective on what EPCOT’s like on the first day of ITS historical grand reopening! A Taste of EPCOT International Food and Wine Festival Not to mention, today is the first day of A Taste of EPCOT International Food and Wine Festival featuring more than 20 marketplace food booths scattered throughout the World Showcase. Let’s see who’s arrived to do some wining and dining! Since we’re staying at Disney’s Pop Century Resort, we took the Disney Skyliner over to EPCOT today. EPCOT has two entrances — the main entrance as well as a secondary entrance located at the International Gateway next to the World Showcase. Temperature Check Temperature and bag checks are set up at both entrances. We arrived at EPCOT right around 11AM this morning when the park opened. Although there was a little bit of a wait this morning, the socially distanced line moved pretty quickly at the International Gateway entrance. Line for Temp and Bag Check at EPCOT And once we passed through the checkpoint, we were welcomed by some World Showcase Cast Members holding flags from countries all over the world. It was pretty moving displayed and we might have gotten a bit misty-eyed. International Gateway And so far, the crowds have stayed pretty manageable. The World Showcase is by no means empty, but it hasn’t felt too crowded walking around in the open areas. World Showcase From our perspective so far, guests are doing a good job social distancing and spreading out while they stroll and shop. The festival merchandise booths are selling some of the Flower and Garden stuff we saw released last March! World Showcase And so far, there have been plenty of open tables for guests to enjoy their snacks and drinks at. Since the tables are socially distanced, you can temporarily remove your mask while you eat and sip when you’re standing at one. Tables We’re making out way over to Future World to check on the crowd levels over by Spaceship Earth next and we’ll be updating this post throughout the day so you can get a better sense of what the attendance is like at A Taste of EPCOT International Food and Wine Festival in the morning vs. the afternoon. Cast Members Stay tuned for more photos and food booth reviews from EPCOT which we’ll be posting shortly! Until then, you can check out what the wait times have been like today at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Click here to see how quickly Rise of the Resistance’s boarding groups filled up at 10AM here! 22. We’re headed over to Canada because we’ve got some fun news! Canada Ears NEW EARS, BABY! Check out theses Canada Minnie Ears! These ears would be a super cute addition to any collection! The ears themselves have the Canada Flag on them and the bow is SO CUTE with little hockey sticks crisscrossed on it! Canada Ears The cloth-covered band has “Canada” on it in big letters, just in case the rest of the ears didn’t make it clear. Canada Ears We spotted these ears at a Merchandise Kiosk in the Canada Pavilion for $29.99. This is a pretty cute new pair, eh? 23. EPCOT threw open the gates today to welcome back guests for the first time in what felt like forever. We have been at EPCOT to capture all the special moments, including the kickoff of the 2020 Taste of EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival! A Taste of EPCOT International Food and Wine Festival As excited as we have been to get back to EPCOT, we’ve noticed how pumped up the Cast Members are to see everyone! As people made their way into World Showcase, we saw Cast Members lined up to celebrate guests’ return to EPCOT. EPCOT Cast Members Line Up to Welcome Guests Home We have to admit, it brought some tears to our eyes. EPCOT Cast Members While carrying flags of the World Showcase countries, Cast Members (who all were wearing the required face masks) cheered as the guests entered World Showcase. With every “Welcome back!” and “Welcome home!” we heard, our smiles just got wider. And, of course, we showed the love right back with some waves, as well! Naturally, we got a bunch in return. 24. We’re LIVE at Disney’s Hollywood Studios today and you can follow along with all of our reporting right here! Crowds So far, we’ve shown you what the crowds have been like today and talked briefly about some of the wait times we were noticing. Now we’re going to share with you a more in-depth look at what the wait times have looked like in Disney’s Hollywood Studios so far today. We attended the grand reopening of Magic Kingdom and Disney’s Animal Kingdom over the weekend and noticed most of the attractions had some pretty low wait times right when the parks opened. In fact, other than a handful of super-popular rides (including Splash Mountain, Pirates of the Caribbean, Haunted Mansion, etc.) many of the rides at Magic Kingdom and Disney’s Animal Kingdom had pretty reasonable wait times throughout the day. Even Flight of Passage was a walk-on for most of the day. Disney’s Hollywood Studios is a different animal, though. Right when the park opened, many attractions already had some hefty lines. Do keep in mind, this park does not have as many attractions as say Magic Kingdom and one of the biggest attractions can only be accessed through the use of a virtual queue. Rise Virtual Queue 10AM The first batch of Rise of the Resistance boarding passes went quickly this morning when they were released at 10AM. Tower of Terror was already up to a 30-minute wait while guests seemed to be heading more towards Toy Story Land and Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge respectively. Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run had a 55-minute wait around opening time while Slinky Dog Dash and Toy Story Mania also had long lines. Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway was also a popular first stop with a 60-minute wait time right when the park opened. Screenshot of Wait Times Attraction like those on Hollywood Boulevard had some pretty low wait times initially, but all of this changed rather quickly! Screenshot of Wait Times 11AM About an hour later, Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge crowds seemed to disperse into other areas of the park. Millennium Falcon was down to a 25-minute wait. Screenshot of Wait Times Right about now is when we started to see wait times for Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster and Tower of Terror rise. Around 11AM both attractions had a 50-minute wait time. Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway was up to a 70-minute wait. Screenshot of Wait Times We’ll continue to update this post throughout the day so you’ll know what to expect in terms of wait times at a newly reopened Disney’s Hollywood Studios, so stay tuned! 25. Today, Disneyland Paris welcomed guests back, marking the occasion in a reopening ceremony featuring Disneyland Paris President Natacha Rafalski. The phased reopening of Disneyland Paris begins with Disneyland Park, Walt Disney Studios Park, Disney Village and Disney’s Newport Bay Club Hotel, and includes enhanced health and safety measures in line with guidance from the French government and health authorities. Some experiences have been reimagined, some provide a new way for guests to be part of the magic, and some will be temporarily unavailable and return at a later date, but the timeless magic and unique storytelling for which the resort is known will remain. The reopening of Disneyland Paris is also a chance to continue the resort’s ongoing commitment to support the local communities. Together with Disney VoluntEARS, in August the resort will welcome 300 children from the Île-de-France region and their families to experience a day at Disneyland Park during their summer holidays. Additionally, the resort made several donations to the local community over the past few months, including food and medical-related supplies and the planting of thousands of flowers to recognize and honor local hospital staff.
