If you were hoping to visit Disney’s Hollywood Studios over Labor Day weekend and haven’t reserved you Disney Park Passes yet, you might’ve missed your chance! Hollywood Studios Reservations for Disney’s Hollywood Studios have become notoriously more challenging to snag since the new Disney Park Pass system when live, often booking up weeks in advance. And since you need a Disney Park Pass reservation AND valid admission to visit Disney’s Hollywood Studios during Disney World’s initial reopening phase, you may not be able to get in at all unless you’re on your A-game! Since this is such a major adjustment, we want to make sure you know what is available and what your park options are. Disney’s Hollywood Studios tends to fill up A LOT faster than the three remaining Disney World theme parks thanks to new lands and attractions such as Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge and Rise of the Resistance which just opened last year! Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance We scoped out the Disney Park Pass Availability Calendar this morning and sure enough, Disney’s Hollywood Studios is already fully booked for most of Labor Day weekend already! Disney has been pretty tight-lipped when it comes to how they’ve been dealing with their financial stability during these uncertain times. Magic Kingdom Due to the ongoing global health crisis causing disruption to almost every segment of the Walt Disney Company, their unique situation could be seen by the casual observer as precarious at best. But during the Disney Q3 earnings call last week, the company was forced to show analysts, investors, the media, and the public some of their cards. That’s when we learned Disney has locked away $23 billion in cash — just in case. Adventureland at Magic Kingdom Despite losing billions of dollars this year due to the interruptions of the Disney Cruise Line, Disney theme parks, and Walt Disney Studios, Disney is reporting they’ve ended their third fiscal quarter with $23 billion in cash reserves. While some might say this is an excessive amount of money to have on hand, Disney Chief Financial Officer Christine McCarthy explains, “We remain laser-focused on prudently managing our cash outflows and preserving liquidity.” Magic Kingdom So far, Disney’s prudence seems to be paying off. Even in light of the company reporting devastating losses of income, Disney’s stock prices were actually soaring mere hours later! But why so MUCH? Well — most basically — because everyone, including Disney, is currently in very shaky financial territory. No one knows how long the global pandemic will go on, or what the lasting financial repercussions of the current health crisis will be. McCarthy states Disney was able to raise the funds in March and April with favorable interest rates and that Disney will be able to face the challenges caused by our new environment with this conservative approach. Cinderella Castle Think of it this way — the operating income for all of the Walt Disney Company’s segments saw a 72% drop while their year-to-date revenue for the first nine months of earnings for the fiscal year was $13.92 billion, down 29% from $19.57 billion for the same period last year. Sitting on a $23 billion security pile might sound like one heck of an insurance policy, but when you’re a multi-billion dollar company facing zero-visibility on the future like Disney is, it’s really not that much! Who’s going to Walt Disney World right now? Click here to find out! What do you think of Disney’s financial strategy? Do you think they’re playing their cards right? The parks have been open for a month now, but not everything has reopened in Disney World. Cast Members welcoming guests back to Magic Kingdom When you head into the parks, you’ll see lots of Cast Members back at work and doing their best to bring the Disney magic to guests. But some Cast Members have yet to be called back as attractions, restaurants, and entire resort hotels remain closed. With the robust additional unemployment benefits from earlier this year expired, and the potential federal replacement as yet unconfirmed, which Disney World employees are still waiting for the call? When Disney World closed due to the global health crisis, a LOT of Cast Members were left out of work. Though Disney was able to pay full-time Cast Members for several weeks, they ultimately furloughed tens of thousands of Cast Members in April through a series of union agreements. This move successfully helped to preserve Disney’s financial security but, for a large number of Cast Members, this was and remains to be a time of uncertainty. We’ve written at length about what Cast Members have experienced during this process if you want to learn more. EPCOT Cast Members Wave Hello On Re-Opening Day! In June, the first Cast Members were called back from the furloughs and several rounds of recalls have occurred since as more of the Walt Disney World Resort reopens. Now, while many Cast Members have returned to work, there are still thousands of Disney World’s 70,000 Cast Members who remain furloughed. The majority of housekeeping and food and beverage Cast Members are still furloughed. According to WFTV, Unite Here Local 737 reported that 7,000 of 18,000 housekeeping, food, and beverage Cast Members were called back as of the parks reopening — approximately 39%. Since then, it’s possible that more Cast Members have been recalled, but over half of these workers could still be furloughed. Cast Member Of Disney’s 21 resort hotels, 13 are currently operating at varying levels of capacity. Some of these resorts are fully open, offering all forms of guest accommodations, while others are only offering Disney Vacation Club rooms at this time. There are currently five upcoming full hotel reopenings officially delayed by Disney, and the remainder of resort hotels are closed at this time. When you put that into perspective, it explains why so many housekeeping and food and beverage Cast Members remain furloughed. Cast Members On the food and beverage front, of over 400 Disney World restaurants and experiences, over 300 are still listed as temporarily unavailable on the Disney World website. Hours have also been shortened for many dining locations and parks as a whole, so significantly fewer Cast Members are needed to run food and beverage right now. Click here to learn more about the Cast Member furloughs! Some attractions Cast Members are still furloughed. Some attractions Cast Members remain furloughed but not nearly the proportion that remain furloughed in housekeeping and food and beverage. For attraction and custodial workers with the Local 362 Union, more than 80% headed back to work when the parks reopened. Cast Member The majority of attractions are open in the parks, so the need for more Cast Members is much higher in the attractions department. Those who remain furloughed can likely blame the attractions that are still closed and the shortened park hours. Click here to see everything that has reopened in Disney World! When will these Cast Members return? It’s likely that more Cast Members will be called back in housekeeping and food and beverage as the remaining closed Walt Disney World resort hotels reopen over the next couple of months. It’s unclear how many Cast Members will be called back for each reopening, but if a fair portion of the current 7,000 Cast Members called back were assigned to the hotels, then we may see thousands more Cast Members called back by the time most of the hotels are open. Cast Members at Topolino’s Terrace For attractions, Cast Members may be called back as more attractions reopen down the line and as Disney lightens capacity limits — that is IF Disney lightens capacity limits at all. It’s possible that the current number of open attractions and capacities will be the norm for a long time, meaning Disney may not have a need to call back more attractions Cast Members for the foreseeable future. Pinocchio Village Haus Cast Member We do have to note that Universal Orlando Resort did recently lay off an undisclosed number of workers, per Spectrum News, so we have to keep this in mind as a possibility for Disney World. Similarly, we’ve seen Paddlefish and other on-property restaurants institute lay-offs and change hours based on low demand. Unfortunately, just because some Cast Members are back, that doesn’t mean things will stay that way. There are no guarantees right now. Click here to learn more about the way demand is affecting the reopening. What are some Cast Member concerns? The big reason it’s concerning for so many Cast Members to remain furloughed is that the increased unemployment benefits from earlier this year have expired. And the current federal replacement has yet to be confirmed. Guest Relations Cast Member Some folks have had trouble getting unemployment benefits at all due to significant difficulties in dealing with the Florida unemployment system. So many Cast Members that have had to work hard to get unemployment benefits in the first place are now faced with reduced benefits — with no promise of if/when they’ll be called back for work. Main Street Cast Members Overall, keep in mind that Cast Members are dealing with a bit of a rollercoaster through this reopening. So, for those who HAVE returned to the parks to work, please be kind. And keep in mind that there are many, many more currently not able to work right now as well. Stay tuned to DFB for all of the latest updates about returning Cast Members and the reopening in Disney World. Click here to learn more about why we’re worried about Cast Members. Wearing a face covering has become part of our new normal. It’s also an important piece of Disney’s multi-layered approach to health and safety, and one of the ways to reduce the risk of spreading COVID-19. Today we’re excited to share a peek behind the magic and an innovative way our cast members are helping their fellow cast stay comfy and protected with stylish and functional new face coverings, designed for cast, by cast. Designed in partnership across the Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World costuming teams – Disney Parks Live Entertainment, Worldwide Safety Services and Global Applied Technology – these face coverings were developed remotely through a bi-coastal effort between cast members at both resorts. “Over the past several months, we’ve spent significant time and brainpower to provide our cast members with face coverings that are both functional and comfortable, and I’m proud of the incredible results,” said Dr. Pamela Hymel, Disney Parks Chief Medical Officer. “They fit well, feel great and can last for more than 50 washes.” Drawing from their own experience, the project stemmed from a need for a more unified and breathable face covering. With the full support of their leaders at Disney, this group seized the opportunity to create the unique, reusable face covering, specifically made for cast members at Disneyland Resort, Walt Disney World Resort and Aulani – a Disney Resort & Spa. “The unified design speaks to the fact that we are still one unified Cast, one Disney ‘world,’” shared Yonit Olshan, Costume Designer, Disneyland Resort Costuming. “As a creative team, we gained so much from each other’s experience and exposure to different types of problems and projects.” Offered exclusively for cast members in two styles, pleated and contoured, and in multiple sizes, the design team sourced and tested a wide range of fabrics, styles and features with a focus on comfort and function. Both styles feature adjustable spandex over the ears, extended nose pinch to the face, contoured shape under eyes, and lightweight, quick-drying material. Drawing inspiration from classic Disney characters, films and television shows, the pattern unifies what every dreamer and cast member have in common – joy, magic, and a little pixie dust. They sparkle with pixie dust and Mickey constellations, recalling that the second star to the right shines in the dreamy night and reminds us to keep wishing upon that evening star. Together, as a Disney family, there are many important ways that we can all help promote each other’s safety. We want to thank our guests and cast members for all they do to care for one another and doing their part. View the full article

Recently, we shared the news that the Disneyland Resort hotels were not accepting new reservations for arrival dates before September 1, signaling yet another possible push back in the Anaheim resort’s delayed reopening plans. Disney California Adventure Now, we are starting to hear that guests with reservations through early September are being contacted by Disney to modify or cancel those plans. Disney is reaching out to guests with reservations between now and September 5, asking them to either modify their reservation or to cancel, and that Disney will no longer be able to accommodate their reservation due to the extended closures. Disneyland Hotel To provide guests more flexibility, all Disney-imposed fees are being waived at this time for both modifying or canceling reservations. Any guest with a previous reservation who has already modified or canceled beyond September 5 will not need to take any further action at this time. Disneyland Park In the meantime, Downtown Disney has continued its phased reopening and is the only component of the Disneyland Resort that is currently open for guests. We will continue to monitor Disneyland’s continued delays and will provide updates as we learn more! It’s almost the most FRIGHTFUL time of the year and we are SO ready. Halloween in Magic Kingdom Still, we can’t help but feel like we’re missing out on a big piece of our Halloween with the cancellation of this year’s Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party in Disney World. Well, since we can’t hug Jack Skellington or plunder with pirates on an extra-spooky ride on Pirates of the Caribbean, we’re throwing our OWN Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party right here and YOU’RE the guest of honor! After attending the parties for YEARS, there are some parts of the parties we’ve LOVED and some that we’d LEAVE. But this is OUR virtual Not So Scary, so it can be exactly what we want it to be! Let’s take a look back at some of our favorite parts of past parties including fireworks shows, FOOD, meet and greets, and MORE! We might even throw in some ways that you can do a Disney Halloween at home. Let’s get spooky! What is Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party? Let’s start with a quick rundown on what Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party actually is! Mickey’s Not-So-Scary is an after-hours and separately ticketed seasonal party that takes place from mid-August through Halloween. There’s exclusive food, AWESOME only-see-it-here entertainment (like fireworks, parades, and meet and greets), attraction overlays, trick-or-treating, and more that you’ll only find at these parties. Plus, everyone is encouraged to wear a costume — even adults! Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party Unfortunately, this year’s party was canceled due to the global health crisis. With reduced capacities and Disney pausing fireworks, parades, and meet and greets for the time being, Disney determined that too many tentpoles of the party would be unavailable for the events to proceed. So here we are doing Mickey’s Not-So-Scary our way! (Hey, it’s not as good as the real deal, but we’re makin’ lemonade from lemons here, people!) Click here to learn more about the cancellation of Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party. Our Favorite Not So Scary FOODS! You know us so of course, we’re kicking our virtual party off with a celebration of Not So Scary FOODS! As we mentioned Not So Scary typically has a lot of specialty food offerings ONLY available to guests attending the parties. It’s possible that we’ll see some special Halloween treats in Magic Kingdom and beyond this year, so we’ll be on the lookout going forward! But right now, we’re looking BACK. Amuck Cupcake We usually spend the first party of the year hunting down all the ghoulish and villainous treats. Sometimes, we find some weird ones and sometimes we find some serious winners! For our virtual Not So Scary, we’re picking the best of the best. Constance’s For Better or Worse Wedding Cake We’re DEFINITELY featuring the Constance’s For Better or Worse Wedding Cake at our party. This treat debuted at last year’s party and struck the delicate balance between cute AND delicious (trust us, most treats cannot walk this line). Constance’s For Better For Worse Wedding Cake The dessert was citrus-scented cake topped with raspberry Bavarian cream, glaçage, buttercream pearls, decorative flowers, and a chocolate axe. For a cake celebrating a murderous bride is was surprisingly…cute! Plus, the ratio of cake to cream was absolutely perfect. If you ask us, it’s ’til death do we part with this treat! Want to read our REVIEW of Constance’s For Better or Worse Wedding Cake? Click here! Not So Poison Apple Cupcake (and other Main Street Bakery delights!) Main Street Bakery makes a statement every year with a Halloween cupcake to bring some frightful sweetness to the season. Last year introduced the super cute Amuck Cupcake featuring the Sanderson Sisters (it was quite good at staining our teeth black all night!), but we’re bringing back our FAVORITE from recent years — the Not So Poison Apple Cupcake! The Not-So-Poison Apple Cupcake The Not So Poison Apple Cupcake debuted in 2018 and brought with it some of the best flavors we’ve had in a Halloween treat. It was a Red Spiced Jumbo Apple Cupcake with pecan crunch and buttercream. Get this — the pecan crunch sat BETWEEN the icing and the cake for the perfect texture combo. Genius! Plus this gorgeous cupcake was just a dream to look at! Click here to see more PICS of the Not So Poison Apple Cupcake! Pumpkin Spice Soft-serve Sundae If we had to take a guess at the official flavor of Halloween, it would probably be “Pumpkin Spice and everything nice.” That’s why our virtual party would not be complete without talking about one of the best Pumpkin Spice treats in Magic Kingdom! We’re strolling over to Auntie Gravity’s Galactic Goodies in 2019 to try out the Pumpkin Spice Soft-serve Sundae. Pumpkin Spice Sundae Made with pumpkin-flavored soft-serve, candy corn, and caramel sauce, this dessert is basically Fall in a bowl. This was seriously one of the BEST Pumpkin Spice treats in Disney World last year, and that’s saying something — Disney World has a LOT of Pumpkin Spice treats! To see our REVIEW of the Pumpkin Spice Soft-Serve Sundae, click here! Haunted Mansion Portrait Desserts Ok, not kidding, this one might be the greatest snack that we’re bringing back for our virtual party. If you were around in 2017, you probably remember us RAVING about the Haunted Mansion Portrait Desserts and with GOOD. REASON. There were FOUR different Haunted Mansion desserts scattered around the park and all of them were soooo good. Stretching Room Chocolate and Peanut Butter Tart You had the Chocolate and Peanut Butter Quick Sand Stretching Room Tart, the Oreo Chocolate Dynamite Stretching Room Portrait Tart, the Lemon and Strawberry Graveyard Stretching Room Chocolate Tart, and the Raspberry Chocolate Haunted Mansion Wallpaper Tart. Obviously, these collectible treats stick out in our minds as some of the greatest bites of parties past because LOOK AT THEM. Lemon and Strawberry Chocolate Tart We’re suckers for the tie-ins to the Haunted Mansion but even better — all of these tarts TASTED incredible. Now if only they had made a Tightrope Girl Tart to complete the set! Click here to see the four Haunted Mansion Portrait Desserts in ALL of their glory! Maleficent Waffle Cone And the LAST treat that we’re putting on our ideal Not So Scary menu is the Maleficent Waffle Cone. This dessert first debuted at the 2018 Mickey’s Not-So-Scary and it was so good that it stuck around to last year too! We’ve still got our fingers crossed that it might make a surprising 2020 appearance (this appeared all day at Storybook Treats during Halloween season!). Maleficent Waffle Cone We’re talking ’bout lime soft-serve in a black waffle cone with chocolate Maleficent horns and purple sprinkles. Honestly, we <3 lime soft-serve so this treat didn’t need to do much to please us. On top of that, it’s SUPER Instagrammable and perfect for the spookiest time of year! Click here for more pics of the Maleficent Cone! BONUS! DIY Treats for Your Disney Halloween at Home After you’re done spending some time at our virtual party, you might work up an appetite for some Halloween treats. We’ve got you covered! You can check out our FULL STASH of Disney Halloween Recipes RIGHT HERE! And watch this video to learn how to make the Mickey Apple of your dreams. The lovely Disney Parks YouTube channel has videos to teach you how to make all sorts of special apples. Next, we’ve snagged all of our favorite entertainment picks from the past few years of parties to put together the PERFECT line-up of virtual Not So Scary fun. Cadaver Dans We’re starting where all great Magic Kingdom parties start, with the incredible “streetmosphere” on Main Street, U.S.A.. Say hi to the Cadaver Dans! Cadaver Dans! Did we misspeak? Aren’t they the DAPPER Dans? Usually, yes, you’re absolutely right. And these fellas are some of the Cast Members we still miss the MOST in reopened Disney World (they’re currently not harmonizing for guests!). But at Not So Scary, these fellows become the Cadaver Dans and sing us some spooky Halloween tunes! Look at their ooky-spooky costumes! Cadaver Dans, we are your biggest fans and you DEFINITELY have a place in our Not So Scary line-up. Character Meet & Greets and Dance Parties A big draw for Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is that you typically get to meet all sorts of characters — including some pretty RARE ones! For our party, we definitely wouldn’t miss out on bringing Jack Skellington and Sally around for a meet and greet. After all, they’re basically the king and queen of Halloween. Jack and Sally at Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Missing our favorite Halloween Town duo? Check out this video of them meeting guests! And keep in mind, if you want to meet Jack and Sally at future parties, they’re super high demand so get in line early! We’ve spotted other super rare characters in the past like Tarzan and Jane, the Seven Dwarfs (all seven of them!), and the Queen of Hearts with Tweedle-Dee and Tweedle-Dum! For our party, we’re bringing all of these iconic characters to the bash. Tarzan and Jane Hugging our favorite characters is something we’re really missing right now, so we’ll just have to do it virtually! Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular Maybe the villains aren’t as out-and-about as they are at Villains After Hours in Magic Kingdom, but Not So Scary is still a night where the more evil-inclined Disney faces get a chance to shine. Three of the stars of the evening are seen on stage in the Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular — and you can bet it’s one of our picks. Take a look at some clips from the show! The stage show debuted back in 2015 and has been a HUGE hit ever since. It also features appearances from a TON of other Disney villains like Oogie Boogie, Maleficent, Dr. Facilier, and more. It really is such a fun addition to the party, and who doesn’t love the Sanderson Sisters?! Mickey’s Boo to You! Halloween Parade We think Mickey’s Boo to You Halloween Parade is absolutely a CAN’T-MISS at every Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party. It’s kicked off by The Legend of Sleepy Hollow‘s own Headless Horseman galloping down the parade route and has a TON of familiar spooky favorite faces on really unique floats. Take a peek at some clips right here! Some of our favorite parts of the parade include the Pirates of the Caribbean section, the Haunted Mansion section (we LOVED last year’s addition of the Ghost Bride gliding down the street!), the Gravedigger dancers making some SERIOUS sparks with their shovels dragging on the ground, and of course, Mickey and Minnie in their Halloween costumes! Plus, last year they added an all-new Tomorrowland section with Buzz Lightyear and the Incredibles as the icing on the cake. Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party Fireworks And, of course, we’re finishing our party entertainment off with a firework frenzy of a nighttime spectacular! Last year Disney introduced the all-new Disney’s Not So Spooky Spectacular, and…it’s a good show — BUT our hearts still lie with the old show. Let’s cap off the entertainment with HalloWishes! Thanks to our friends over at AllEars.net, we can watch the whole show! Ugh, can you blame us for picking HalloWishes? It’s SO good. From the SCARYoke, to the spinning fireworks on the castle, and finishing up with those incredible perimeter fireworks that go off ALL around you, this was something special. If you’re missing the old show like we are, scroll through our tour of the HalloWishes Dessert Party! The Not So Spooky Spectacular is good, but we aren’t sure it can hold a spooky candle to HalloWishes. What do you think? Which show wins? Click here to learn MORE about Disney’s Not So Spooky Spectacular! Attraction Overlays One of our favorite recent additions to the Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Parties is the attraction overlays! Disney started adding Halloween-y theming to some attractions in 2018 and it’s just an extra fun addition to these already spooky nights. Mad Tea Party Last year, the overlays included live pirates on Pirates of the Caribbean, spooky projections and tunes on Mad Tea Party, and an INTENSE version of Space Mountain with the lights out and ROCK music. Not to mention, one of our favorites — the ethereal Madame Carlotta or Madame Renata greeting guests from the lawn of the Haunted Mansion! Hello Madame Renata…or is it Carlotta!? Now, there ARE similar ride overlays at other parties like Villains After Hours so it’s possible we might not have to wait a whole year to see a fun ride overlay again if these were to resume sooner! Trick-or-Treating and Costumes! Is it really Halloween without trick-or-treating and costumes? To answer that question — no. No, it’s not. Trick-or-treating at Mickey’s Not-So-Scary is a super fun activity and you can really LOAD UP on the candy. Yep, even you adults. CANDY TIME! Of course, we love any spot that means we get free candy, but there are a few trick-or-treat trails that are getting a special mention at our party. Some spots are pretty much just Cast Members with a barrel, but others will have you walking through a cool part of the park! Last year, we got to trick or treat in Ariel’s Grotto and Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor. SO NEAT. Monsters Inc Laugh Floor Trick Or Treat Trail And you know what? This is OUR Not So Scary party and we can do what we want, so we’re throwing in some of our favorite parts of Disneyland’s Oogie Boogie Bash in Disney California Adventure. We make the rules. Oogie Boogie at the Oogie Boogie Bash But seriously, the Oogie Boogie Bash had some NEXT LEVEL Trick-or-Treat Trails featuring the most popular villains in each of their lairs. Villains perform and interact with guests while they were all lined up to get their candy. They even converted the Redwood Creek Challenge Trail into the over-the-top Villains Grove walkthrough attraction bursting with lights and incredible effects. Add ’em to the line-up! Magic Kingdom is plenty big…we’re sure they could find a way to incorporate similar elements in Disney World’s parties! And you can’t go trick-or-treating without a great costume! Well, you can, but why would you skip out on an opportunity to get dressed up? Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is the ONLY time of the year that adults are allowed to dress up in true costumes in Walt Disney World and it makes the party that much more fun. So put together the best costume you got for our virtual party, or at least for the next time you go to Mickey’s Not-So-Scary! To see more of the Oogie Boogie Treat Trails, click here! Specialty Merch! Finally, a special part of Mickey’s Not-So-Scary is the specialty merchandise that’s on sale at the party. Ralph Brennan’s Jazz Kitchen and Jazz Kitchen Express reopened on August 12 as part of Downtown Disney’s phased reopening at the Disneyland Resort! Ralph Brennan’s Jazz Kitchen While we still have to wait a bit longer to get our hands on some Mickey beignets at the Mint Julep Bar in Disneyland park, we can finally sink our teeth into some fresh, hot beignets in Downtown Disney! Ordering and Seating Jazz Kitchen Express has all the health and safety fixings we’ve come to expect these days with any counter service dining location in Disneyland or Disney World. Floor markers kept parties six feet apart while waiting in line to order. Ralph Brennan’s Jazz Kitchen Express Once we ordered our food, more floor stickers were found for us to stand on while we waited for our food to be prepared. Both the cash register area as well as the food pickup area had plexiglass screens to keep everyone safe. Ralph Brennan’s Jazz Kitchen Express Once we got our order, we stepped outside. Currently, Jazz Kitchen Express has both standing tables as well as seated dining available. Ralph Brennan’s Jazz Kitchen Express outdoor seating When we were there, it wasn’t too busy, so staying physically distanced from others was pretty easy! If the tables are full, there are tons of designated seating areas around Downtown where you can take your food. Learn more about how California officials are reviewing how to reopen Disneyland and Disney California Adventure safely! Food Seeing that it has been MONTHS since we’ve been able to have a Disneyland beignet, deciding what to order was pretty easy! Ralph Brennan’s Jazz Kitchen Express We got a fresh batch of beignets, which meant they were piping hot. Watch out for your fingers when you grab these l’il guys if they’re coming right out of the deep fryer! Ralph Brennan’s Jazz Kitchen Express Once they cooled down just enough for us to enjoy, we were instantly swept off of our feet. These beignets are the real deal, you guys. As much as we love the Mickey-shaped beignets in New Orleans Square, nothing can beat a fresh, hand-made batch of beignets made just moments before. Ralph Brennan’s Jazz Kitchen Express You can add on dipping sauce for an extra $0.99, and you can choose between chocolate or raspberry. We chose chocolate, and it took the beignet experience to a whole different level! Ralph Brennan’s Jazz Kitchen Express Coming to Jazz Kitchen Express first thing in the morning and enjoying some warm beignets with a cup of coffee is a must-do when you visit Downtown, but these are obviously a great choice any time of day. We weren’t even bothered by the fact that we were eating hot beignets on an 85-degree California day! Want to learn how to make Mickey Mouse beignets at home? Check out our recipe by clicking here! Ralph Brennan’s Jazz Kitchen Check-In & Seating While we were floating on cloud nine after eating our beignets, we took a closer look at Ralph Brennan’s Jazz Kitchen to see what new additions were present! Ralph Brennan’s is currently accepting walk-up reservations only for lunch and dinner. Guests can line up at the host stand to add their name, or they can scan a QR code to be added to a waitlist via Open Table. Ralph Brennan’s Jazz Kitchen Once your group is called, you are brought to physically distanced tables. When we stopped by, we only saw Guests being sat on the bottom level, but there is signage in and around the upstairs area too, so it looks like both levels are being used for seating! Keep in mind that at this time, only outdoor seating is available. Ralph Brennan’s Jazz Kitchen We also spotted plexiglass screens that were installed around the perimeter of the outdoor seating area to protect Guests that are dining as well as Guests that are walking by. Ralph Brennan’s Jazz Kitchen Downtown Disney has another dining option for Guests looking to grab lunch or dinner during their visit! Whether you’re there for date night or you just need a quick bite to eat, Ralph Brennan’s Jazz Kitchen and Jazz Kitchen Express are ready for you! A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away…there was a The Star Wars Holiday Special. This special was dreamt up by some folks at Lucasfilm after partaking in a few too many spiked eggnogs. ©Lucasfilm At least, that’s our working theory behind how this kitschy Christmas special came to be! The Star Wars Holiday Special originally aired on CBS in 1978 and went on to become a cult-classic given the absurdity of this 2-hour long variety show. Do you guys remember this thing?! Now Disney has just shared with USA Today a brand new LEGO Star Wars Holiday Special will be coming out on November 17th! Disney+ subscribers will be able to watch Rey, Finn, and Poe Dameron celebrate Life Day, a holiday that was started on the Wookiee planet of Kashyyyk. This plated was also featured in the original 1978 Christmas special. ©Lucasfilm “We wanted to give a wink and a nod to the original,” executive producer Josh Rimes told USA Today. He also stated the new LEGO Star Wars Holiday Special will last 45-minutes and pay tribute to other Christmas classics including, It’s a Wonderful Life, Planes, Trains and Automobiles, Christmas Vacation, and more! ©Lucasfilm Rimes also teased Emperor Palpatine, Vader, and Kylo Ren will get to hang out together in the LEGO Star Wars Holiday Special — just when we didn’t think 2020 could get any stranger! We can’t wait to throw on some Star Wars ugly Christmas sweaters and tune in! Three new holiday celebrations may be coming to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in Disneyland and Disney World!
