  2. Today, we’re sharing all-new details about the social heart of Asteria: Second Star Club. Read on to discover: A first look at Second Star Club How Aster Green will set the stage for gatherings under the Carolina sky What will be found at The Studios and Wellness Center Why Marquet Hall will be the go-to spot for neighborly hangouts How Lost Key Cottage will bring a touch of storybook wonder to celebrations How Disney Imagineers are weaving together themes from beloved Disney films and inspiration from the beauty of North Carolina to create a unique experience Inspired by the celestial compass in Walt Disney Animation Studios’ 1953 animated classic Peter Pan, the club was designed by Walt Disney Imagineering and will feature a collection of indoor and outdoor areas that will encourage discovery and life-long learning. This is where the Asteria lifestyle will begin to bloom. From hands-on workshops and Disney-inspired fitness classes to spaces made for gathering, relaxing, and trying something new, Second Star Club embodies what it could feel like to live at Asteria day to day. The design will showcase what Disney does best in a way that’s thoughtful, subtle, and rooted in community. Come along as we take a look around the Second Star Club. Step Inside: Second Star Club Campus Second Star Club will feature a variety of ways for members to gather, play, and sprinkle a little pixie dust on daily life. At the center of the club will be Aster Green, an expansive gathering lawn made for pick-up soccer, family picnics, Disney movie nights, and happy run-ins with neighbors. At The Studios, ideas will take shape. Members will be able to harness their skills with the help of high-tech tools like laser engravers and fabric printers perfect for practicing local traditions such as woodworking and quilting. And it will be convenient to prioritize health at the Wellness Center, where members will be able to meet up for outdoor yoga under the Carolina sky, swim laps, use state-of-the-art workout equipment, and then cool down with a refreshing smoothie or juice. Marquet Hall will be the go-to spot on game day. With indoor and outdoor seating, members will have plenty of ways to cheer on their favorite teams. Marquet Hall will turn any visit, like a spirited match of ping-pong or casual meal with neighbors, into a celebration of community. Piedmont Proper will be a beautiful backdrop for club events, member celebrations, and more. This versatile event pavilion will feature delightful wood details and delicate rosemaling artwork celebrating wildlife from fan-favorite Disney stories. And there’s even more to explore: Second Star Club will also feature an adult-only pool, family-friendly pool, and playground, along with tennis and pickleball courts. Lost Key Cottage: A Storybook Home Like No Other Bringing the Peter Pan spirit of wonder and curiosity to life in a whole new way will be Lost Key Cottage, where happy thoughts and gatherings take flight. This storybook-inspired home will invite members to explore, dream, and create new memories together. In this enchanting five-bedroom home, members and their guests will step into a world inspired by Never Land where every room tells a story and whimsical details await around every corner. Lost Key Cottage will be available for members to rent and host family gatherings, celebrate milestones, and even spend the night creating unforgettable memories in a setting that captures a sense of childlike wonder, adventure and timeless joy. From birthday parties to sleepovers, Lost Key Cottage will provide a one-of-a-kind escape that can only be found at Asteria. Like the Parr House at Cotino, the first Storyliving by Disney community in California, Lost Key Cottage represents Disney’s commitment to creating signature experiences that go far beyond traditional residential amenities, transforming the everyday into the extraordinary. The Disney Difference: Creativity and Connection Throughout the club design, Disney Imagineers have woven storytelling into the spaces and experiences with nods to characters and themes inspired by Walt Disney’s love of nature and curiosity. Iconic films such as Beauty and the Beast, Alice in Wonderland, Bambi, and more feel ever present across every area. The beautiful spaces are just the beginning. Second Star Club will come alive with a robust schedule of events, activities, and programs designed to spark curiosity and bring neighbors together, from family-friendly crafts and Disney movie nights to guided nature hikes and themed excursions. 5. One thing almost every Disney Experience has in common? Costumes! From cast member attire to the magical threads worn in stage productions and in our parades, there’s so many different costumes in rotation at any given time. From programs in our parks to thoughtful design from Disney Live Entertainment, we’re celebrating Earth Month by spotlighting costuming efforts around the globe. Our Disney Live Entertainment costuming teams are continuing to reevaluate our costume production and increasing use of sustainable materials in costume design year over year. Other environmentally sustainable efforts stem from supporting local organizations like theatre and school costume programs through donations. To expand our impact, Disney has even created our own costume upcycling and recycling programs. Here’s how our parks and experiences are taking a fresh, Earth-friendly approach to costuming our cast members. Cast Costumes at Walt Disney World We’re always looking for ways to improve the cast experience and our latest costume designs keep fit, function and comfort top of mind by using updated fabric technology that’s lightweight, moisture resistant and serves as a strong sun protectant. They’re also designed with the environment in mind: Currently, 20% of all materials used in Walt Disney World operational costumes are made with recycled components, and that number continues to grow. This selection of carefully redesigned costumes includes dozens of locations and roles across Walt Disney World such as Coral Reef Restaurant, Jungle Cruise, Savanna Guides, Kilimanjaro Safaris, The Seas with Nemo & Friends, Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana, and many more. What about costumes no longer in use? Components of retired garments that are unable to be donated are evaluated for recycling including all clear rain gear, fabric scraps from the Costuming department, and sneakers worn by performers. Fun fact: The Cosmetology team at Walt Disney World has recycled over 1 million bobby pins to date! Upcycled Merchandise at Tokyo Disney Resort At Tokyo Disney Resort, guests can enjoy their favorite experiences in a unique way thanks to the resort’s Circulating Smiles initiative, which takes retired cast member costumes and turns them into merchandise through upcycling. Patch badges and tote bags were crafted using materials from Buzz Lightyear’s Astro Blasters and Big Thunder Mountain costumes, while pouches were created from fabric previously used in costumes worn by cast members at the Pooh Corner shop in Tokyo Disneyland. These limited-edition items resonated strongly with guests, pairing sustainability with nostalgia. Costume Recycling at Disneyland Paris The Disneyland Paris entertainment team is committed to providing a second life for worn or retired cast member costumes through upcycling but instead of merchandise, we’re creating materials! Utilizing recycling bins across the resort, Disneyland Paris collects costumes no longer suitable for everyday use, and after careful fraying, the costumes are transformed into felt insulation that is then sent to local organizations for future construction in the community. Nearly 15 tons of costumes were recycled in 2023 and 2024, which is equivalent to almost 33,000 pieces of costumes.  Prioritizing planet-friendly costume design, garment upcycling and outfit recycling are just a number of ways Disney is committed to sustainability and environmental responsibility at our parks and resorts. 6. A dead phone at Disney World isn’t just an inconvenience. It can derail your whole day. Our phone is Disney ready! From mobile ordering food to pulling up your park ticket at the tapstile, your phone is basically your lifeline at Walt Disney World. That means keeping it charged is a real priority, and knowing how to do that smartly before you leave home will save you a lot of stress (and money) once you’re inside the parks. DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission. Hold It Out at Security Before anything else, here’s something a lot of first-timers learn the hard way: power banks can set off the security scanner if you leave them in your bag or pockets. TTC security Cast Members will ask you to pull them out anyway, so save yourself the holdup and hold any portable chargers out in front of you as you walk through. It’s a small habit that keeps the security line moving and gets you to the fun faster. You’re Not Breaking Any Rules by Bringing One Some guests worry about whether portable chargers are actually allowed inside Disney World. Good news: Disney’s website does not list any specific rules prohibiting them in the parks, at Disney Springs, or at the hotels. Bring your charger without any guilt. The only real “rule” here is making sure it’s packed and ready to go before you head out the door. Don’t Buy Your Charger Inside the Park Fuel Rod Station at Casey’s Corner in Magic Kingdom This one will save you real money. FuelRod kiosks are all over Disney World, and while they’re incredibly convenient, you’ll pay a premium for that convenience. Here’s a better move: you can get a two-pack of FuelRod USB-C Portable Charger Kits on Amazon for the same price as a single FuelRod from a park kiosk. Swapping out for free Each one comes fully charged with adapters and cables for most smart devices, and the swap feature is the real sell here. When your rod runs out of juice, you can instantly swap it for a fully charged one at any FuelRod kiosk nationwide, including the ones already inside the parks. Buy smart before you go. view ON amazon Pick the Right Charger for How You Actually Use Your Phone Not every charger works for every person, and the right one depends on what your day looks like. If you’re stopping to charge while you snack or wait in line, a traditional power bank works great. The INIU Portable Charger packs 10,000mAh into a body that’s 30% smaller and 15% lighter than most comparable options, and it can charge three devices at once, which is perfect for families or anyone hauling multiple devices. INIU Portable Charger It also charges an iPhone 15 to 60% in just 25 minutes, which is a serious perk when you’re racing the afternoon heat. view ON amazon If you prefer something that stays out of your hands entirely, the Anker 621 Magnetic Portable Charger is worth a look. Anker 621 Magnetic Portable Charger It snaps directly onto the back of an iPhone 14 or 15 via ultra-strong magnets, so you can take photos, scroll the app, and keep moving without juggling a separate cable. At just 4.41 oz, you’ll honestly forget it’s there. view ON amazon For higher-capacity needs, the FuelRod MAX10 brings 10,000mAh with dual-device charging and the same nationwide swap capability as the standard FuelRod. FuelRod MAX10 Check it out before your next trip. view ON amazon Keeping your phone alive throughout a full park day is one of those things that sounds simple but makes a genuinely big difference. 7. New menu alert! Whenever we hear there’s a new menu, we set off a red alert for the team, and we become totally obsessed with it until we can get our hands on it. The alarm goes off a lot, but we’re also pretty excited. Wine Bar George Wine Bar George in Disney Springs added some new brunch items, and we’re pretty sure we’ve found where everyone will go for brunch from now on. First up, we have the Yogurt Parfait for $10, which comes with Greek yogurt, fresh fruit, and granola. Yogurt Parfait This was fresh and a nice, lighter take for breakfast, especially if you’re planning to share some dishes at the table or you have a heavier dinner planned. It wasn’t too sweet but was light and refreshing, with the gronala adding a nice crunch on top. The fruit was cold, tasted fresh, and had a perfect texture with the yogurt. We think it was a pretty reasonable price, too. It’s beautiful, too Then we tried the Seasonal Salad for $14, which features vegetables, croutons, and shallot vinaigrette. Seasonal Salad The Seasonal Salad was also pretty light and refreshing, with a citrusy, acidic dressing that was still on the sweet side. Our server told us they wanted to aim for something simple yet refined for spring and summer, and mentioned that their other salads felt overly complicated. This one really let the ingredients shine! The tomatoes had a really nice sweetness, and the cucumbers had a perfect snap. We felt like a few croutons were a little stale, but the salad base was solid with no wilted or gross salad pieces. It was a great option and felt like summer! Lots of great textures We couldn’t resist the French Toast for $19 with diplomat cream, fresh fruit, and maple syrup. French Toast Sometimes all you need is plain old good French toast. The fruit was fresh, the diplomat cream was delicious, and the powdered sugar was a nice touch. It can be hard to find good French toast, but we can definitely add one to our list. You got two slices that were pretty big and thick, which we thought was lovely for the price, and they weren’t too sweet, either. So fresh Finally, we ended with the Chocolate Almond Tart for $9, featuring chocolate ganache and green chartreuse. Chocolate Almond Tart What a perfect way to end the meal! It had a nice, crunchy bottom and a subtle chocolate flavor, elevated by the salt on top. The middle layer is like the inside of a soft cookie! The almond flavor is there on the crust with chunks of almond throughout. We would definitely get this again, especially for $9. Give us MORE We loved all of our dishes, and we thought our server was super knowledgeable on the menu, too, which always adds to our experience. Brunch at Wine Bar George is only available from 10:30 AM to 2 PM on Saturdays and Sundays, so you’ll want to plan accordingly. We also liked sitting outside on the patio, but inside seating is available as well. 8. Okay, we have a lot of love in Disney World. We have a passion for “plastic” nacho cheese and are always down for a Mickey-shaped anything, but what can we say, priorities are changing. Spun Sugar We’re always going through the World Showcase to find unique snacks and souvenirs, which is perfect considering they have items from all over the world, but after trying this unique snack, we can’t stop visiting the China Pavilion. Please say hello to spun sugar art, which you can find in the China Pavilion in EPCOT. The last time we saw this was the 2020 EPCOT Festival of the Arts, but when we saw it come back a few weeks ago, it’s suddenly been everything we talk about. Gorgeous! You can find it in the House of Good Fortune, and while Disney hasn’t mentioned it going away or anything, we’re still upset it went away in the first place, so we’re making it a priority every time we visit. The cost depends on your design, but you get to watch the artist make the design, so it’s interactive too. Look at them making it! The dragonfly, swan, kitten, panda, and dog designs are $9, and the hummingbird, butterfly, owls, horse, and bunny are $14. Prices The dragon and phoenix are $25. Of course, since it’s mostly a stick of sugar, it’s going to be SWEET. Now, that doesn’t really bother us because anytime we finish a salty treat like a soft pretzel, we immediately need something sweet, and this is perfect. The pieces can snap off easily, so be aware when you’re walking around with it. The Dragon! It’s basically dinner and a show! You get to watch them create your snack, take beautiful photos, and then eat it. What’s there not to like? While we continue to visit almost every day at EPCOT, make sure you keep following Disney Food Blog for more hidden details around Disney World. 11. When it comes to dining at Disney World, you’ve got a TON of options. However, one of the best parks as a whole for dining? Well, that’s gotta be Disney’s Animal Kingdom! Nomad Lounge is perched along Discovery River We recently stopped by Nomad Lounge in Animal Kingdom, one of our absolute favorite lounges on all of Disney World property, to show you just why it’s 100% worth a visit. You may not think it’s for you, but we’re here to prove you wrong! Atmosphere One of the things that makes this lounge so unique and beloved is how tucked away it is. In fact, it’s so unassuming from the outside that many people walk right by it. Despite being right next to Tiffins (which is also fantastic), it’s quiet, peaceful, and incredibly relaxing. Outdoor seating All seating is outside, but covered, and you’ll get gorgeous views of the water as you dine. Truly, if you’re looking for a little piece of paradise on your Animal Kingdom day, this is the place to go. The most relaxing atmosphere But enough about the restaurant — what’s on the menu here?! Menu The menu mostly consists of different drinks, as many different lounges do, but we do very much enjoy that there are also Mocktails and Zero-Proof Cocktails on the menu. And they’re genuinely exciting, too, not just flavored lemonade! Drinks menu As for the dining options on the menu, there aren’t too many, but they rarely let us down. You can find Naan, Crispy Chicken Wings, Wild Mushroom Dumplings, Pork Ribs, Grilled Beef Kefta, and more. We can’t forget their famous Churros! Dining Menu And now, onto the main event — the food! Drinks To drink, we picked up the Dalang’s Delight, which is made with STARR African Rum, Batavia-Arrack van Oosten, Orange Liqueur, Mountain Berry Tea, Simple Syrup, and Lemon Juice for $17.50. Dalang’s Delight This is a super refreshing drink! The Mountain Berry tea comes through very strongly with a berry aftertaste, which pairs well with the spices present in a lot of the dishes here. It helps to cool your mouth down a bit as you dine, without impeding on the flavors! Eats First up, we grabbed the Naan and Dip Trio for $17, which is Warm Onion Naan paired with Roasted Garlic Hummus, Roasted Eggplant and Beetroot Spread, Roasted Red Pepper and Walnut Muhammara. Naan and Dip Trio The naan is perfectly cooked, making it soft, tender, and perfectly pillowy. The hummus is classic, but done very well, and we love the difference in texture thanks to the fried chickpeas, but it’s very garlic-forward, so you’ve gotta be a fan of that flavor! Hummus The beet is the star of the show with the roasted eggplant and beetroot dip, and we loved the extra pop of flavor from the chopped chives and pomegranate seeds. It was a palate cleanser, in a way, but a delicious one, at that. Roasted Eggplant and Beetroot Spread The Red Pepper and Walnut Muhammara is the spiciest of the dips, but we loved the way the walnuts added an earthy, crunchy addition. The more you eat of it, the more the heat grows, so keep that in mind! We’d absolutely eat all of them without complaint and get this dish over and over again, but if you struggle with spice, beware of that final dip. Red Pepper and Walnut Muhammara Next, we grabbed the Grilled Beef Kefta for $17, which is a Middle Eastern-inspired Beef Skewer, Harissa Hummus, Herb-Honey Yogurt, Pickled Red Onions, and Naan. The beef is on the saltier side, but still beautifully seasoned. The herb honey yogurt sauce helps keep it from being too salty and helps calm down a bit of the spice as well. The harissa hummus was delicious and not too spicy, and while it was good, it wasn’t our favorite dish of the day. This was largely due to the fact that the naan at the bottom of the dish was saturated with hummus and meat juice, making it soggy. We would have preferred for it to be served on the side with a side of hummus, to enjoy it more as a side. Grilled Beef Kefta Finally, we grabbed the Churros for $11, which also comes with Vanilla Sauce and a Blueberry dipping sauce. They’re soft, crunchy, and are easily the best churros on Disney World property. They’re covered in so much cinnamon sugar that it gets practically everywhere, but it’s totally worth it! Churros They’re so soft and practically melt in your mouth, we could get them every day and never get tired of them. The blueberry dip complemented the churro so well, adding a bit of freshness and lightness to the dish, and the vanilla dip was almost like melted ice cream (flavor-wise) in the best way. We can’t get enough! We recommend dipping your churros in both sauces, just to get all those flavors together! Nosh or Not This Disney World restaurant is a must-visit if… You want a relaxing, calm dining experience. This truly is a step away from the craziness of a park day — if that’s what you need, this is where to go. You’re searching for the best churros on property. It sounds silly, but we would absolutely get a reservation here JUST for these churros — they’re that good! You’re looking for some more adventurous options. The menu here isn’t super large, and a lot of the options do have some spice, so if you want to venture out, this is a great way to do so! You should skip this Disney World spot if… You’re a pickier eater. Picky eaters may only like the churros here, as a lot of the drinks and dining options are more involved, so that’s something to keep in mind! You need a menu with something for everyone…beyond churros. The menu here isn’t super large, meaning that it may be tough to find something for everyone in a large group. You want an upbeat, exciting meal. 12. Summer is quickly approaching, and this year in Disney World, that means A LOT of things. The Diamond Horseshoe There are tons of eats to explore at the EPCOT Flower & Garden Festival, multiple attractions have planned openings for this summer, and, of course, Cool KIDS’ SUMMER is returning as well, bringing along lots of fun activities and entertainment for those of all ages. One of the changes people are really looking forward to is a new update to The Diamond Horseshoe in Magic Kingdom, but if you’re looking to experience the restaurant BEFORE its switch, you’ve only got ONE month left! This summer, The Diamond Horseshoe will turn into Jessie’s Roundup: A Rip-Roarin’ Revue from May 26th through September 8th, 2026, the duration of Cool KIDS’ SUMMER. This limited-time offering will bring Jessie, Woody, Bullseye, and more Toy Story pals into the space for songs, dancing, games, and other playful activities. However, this is being advertised as an entertainment offering, not a character meal, so it sounds like there won’t actually be meals served here this summer. Starting May 16th, the restaurant will close to make way for this new experience. Woody and Jessie at Magic Kingdom We know what you may be thinking — why is this happening in Magic Kingdom and not Disney’s Hollywood Studios, where Toy Story Land is? Fantastic question, because other than seeing Woody and Jessie wander around Frontierland sometimes, there’s no tie to this franchise in this part of Magic Kingdom. In fact, the only tie to the franchise in this park is Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin in Tomorrowland. Hi from Woody and Jessie in Hollywood Studios! As many of our fans have pointed out, it’s interesting Disney is choosing to close a restaurant in Magic Kingdom for essentially a summer-long dance party, when Roundup Rodeo BBQ in Toy Story Land isn’t even a character dining experience. However, at the end of the day, this does still offer a kid-focused, lower-stakes interactive offering in Magic Kingdom during a very busy season, which is ideal, since there actually aren’t too many of those in this park specifically. 13. Geez, Disney World, you’re HUSTLING in 2026. EPCOT With the new Walt Disney Studios land and Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster starring The Muppets coming to Hollywood Studios, Bluey experiences arriving at Animal Kingdom, and newly updated Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad at Magic Kingdom, there’s a lot to experience if you’re traveling this year. But we can’t forget about the major ride change coming to EPCOT! Soarin’ Around the World is one of EPCOT’s most beloved rides, and this year it’s getting a big update! On May 14th, Soarin’ Around the World will close and be transformed into Soarin’ Across America. ©Disney This new version of the ride is in honor of the United States of America’s 250th birthday on July 4th, 2026. Soarin’ Across America is set to open on May 26th. Similar to its predecessor, it will feature video elements with sweeping views and perfectly-timed scents. But instead of traveling the globe, you’ll see some of America’s most iconic landmarks. ©Disney | View of the Grand Canyon in the new version of Soarin’ The last day to experience Soarin’ Around the World for now is May 13th. If you travel between May 14th-25th, the ride will be closed entirely. The multi-day closure allows Disney to do a little more than just switch up the film — some permits have indicated the installation of new “set elements.” It’s unclear whether those will be in the queue, the loading area, or by the screen. We’ll be on the lookout when the new version opens! ©Disney This change will also be coming to Disneyland Resort, at California Adventure Park. This is now the third version of this attraction we’ve seen, with the other being Soarin’ Over California. That version often runs for a limited time at California Adventure during its Food & Wine Festival. ©Disney | Filming for Soarin’ Across America Of course, we’ll be checking out this new ride when it premieres next month, so stay tuned. 16. Where should you stay when you visit Disney World? Holiday Inn Orlando in Disney Springs Well, there are often two very different opinions, depending on who you ask. 18. There is a very specific kind of Disney vacation heartbreak that happens when you start out browsing resort rooms “just to look” and then suddenly find yourself staring at a fireworks-view Deluxe room that costs roughly the same as a small appliance, a nice handbag, and part of your dignity combined. Fireworks over the Swan and Dolphin Because yes, watching fireworks from your hotel room sounds dreamy. Magical. Effortlessly glamorous. Like the kind of vacation move made by people who never panic-buy ponchos or eat a granola bar in line for Peter Pan’s Flight. But here’s the little loophole hiding in plain sight: you do not necessarily have to book one of Disney’s most expensive Deluxe resorts to get that elevated, fireworks-view, Deluxe-perks kind of trip. Enter the Walt Disney World Swan, Dolphin, and Swan Reserve. These hotels are the overachievers of the “technically not Disney-owned, but still very much in the Disney bubble” category. And if you play your cards right, they can get you a room with serious views, access to major on-site perks, and a much less offensive room total than some of Disney’s headline-grabbing Deluxe options. The Deluxe Loophole The big secret here is that the Swan, Dolphin, and Swan Reserve sit in a very weird and beautiful middle ground. Swan and Dolphin They are not Disney-owned hotels, so they do come with some quirks. But they are also recognized by Disney as participating hotels for Early Theme Park Entry, and they are specifically included in Extended Evening Theme Park Hours right alongside Disney Deluxe Resorts and Deluxe Villas. The Swan and Dolphin hotel guests get the 7-day Lightning Lane purchase window, which is one of the more useful planning perks if you like to have your vacation ducks lined up in a row instead of loose in a parking lot. Swan Resort lobby That means you are getting some of the same most-coveted perks people pay Deluxe prices to access…without always paying full Disney Deluxe prices to do it. And that, my friends, is where this whole thing starts to smell like a very good idea. Yep, You Still Get the Perks This is the part that makes the Swan-and-Dolphin pitch more than just “look, a cheaper room.” Because if all you wanted was a random hotel near Disney, Orlando is full of those. Orlando grows hotels the way EPCOT grows festival booths. What makes the Swan, Dolphin, and Swan Reserve different is that they still let you stay in the Disney ecosystem in a meaningful way. You can use Early Entry. You can use Extended Evening Hours. You can buy Lightning Lane passes on the earlier 7-day timeline. And the location is wildly convenient for EPCOT and Hollywood Studios days, because the resort is within walking distance of both parks and also has Friendship Boat access. Friendship boat dock at the Swan and Dolphin Hotels That location alone does a lot of heavy lifting. Being able to stroll back from EPCOT instead of herding yourself into the post-fireworks transportation stampede is the sort of vacation luxury that does not show up in glossy brochures nearly enough. It should. It’s elite. It’s healing. It’s what the people deserve. Walkway at the Swan Hotel The dining situation is also no joke. The Swan and Dolphin complex says it has 23 restaurants and lounges, which is kind of absurd in the best possible way. If your travel style involves saying, “We’ll just eat wherever,” and then somehow ending up with steak, sushi, cocktails, or late-night dessert anyway, this resort area is very much on your side. Let’s Talk Fireworks Math Now for the money part, because this is where the shameless plug earns its keep. Fireworks from the Viewing Area at California Grill Current room-rate charts show Disney-owned theme park view rooms getting pricey very quickly. At Disney’s Contemporary Resort, Main Tower Theme Park View rooms are listed from about $1,048 to $1,274 in regular and spring seasons, with higher holiday and peak pricing beyond that. At Disney’s Grand Floridian, Theme Park View rooms are listed from about $1,160 to $1,545 across value through spring periods shown this year. At Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, standard Theme Park View rooms are listed from roughly $1,200 to $1,549. The newer Polynesian tower Deluxe Studio Theme Park View rooms are listed from about $1,213 to $1,586 in the same broad seasonal ranges. By comparison, the Walt Disney World Dolphin is in a cost range of about $531 to $1,030, and the Walt Disney World Swan at about $559 to $1,063. Marriott also notes that some Dolphin rooms feature EPCOT fireworks views, and the Swan Reserve advertises rooms with fireworks display views as well. Ooooohhh So no, this is not always a perfect apples-to-apples comparison. Disney breaks out its theme park view categories more clearly than Swan and Dolphin do. But the overall story is still incredibly obvious: if you want a nicer room, access to Deluxe-tier perks, and a shot at fireworks without lighting your budget on fire first, the Swan-and-Dolphin family is often where the math starts looking downright flirty. Why This Trick Works A lot of Disney hotel decisions come down to what you care about most. If your personal love language is Magic Kingdom monorail access, then sure, the Contemporary, Grand Floridian, and Polynesian are playing a different game. But if your priorities are more like “I want a very nice room, strong location, good food, fireworks potential, and those sweet Deluxe-style park perks without needing to sell a kidney on the black market,” the Swan, Dolphin, and Swan Reserve deserve a very hard look. Suite at the Swan Reserve They work especially well for adult trips, EPCOT-heavy vacations, couples who want a slightly more grown-up resort feel, and people who care more about convenience and value than whether the headboard tells a whimsical story about a princess and her woodland roommates. It is, essentially, a strategy for people who enjoy Disney but would also like their bank account to stop screaming. The Fine Print Gremlin Now, before we float off into the night on a cloud of fireworks and financial victory, we do need to talk about the caveats. First, the Swan and Dolphin site lists a mandatory $50 daily resort service package fee. That is not imaginary. That is not a cute little sprinkle. That is a real fee, and yes, it needs to go into your budget math. The hotel says it includes things like internet, paddleboat rentals, fitness classes, beach movies and s’mores, and a few other extras. Second, parking is not free at the hotel. Self-parking for Swan, Dolphin, and Swan Reserve currently show $40 daily at the Swan, Dolphin, and Swan Reserve. In other words, parking is absolutely a thing here, and you should check the exact rate tied to the booking path you use. The good news is the Swan and Dolphin also say registered guests get complimentary standard parking at Disney theme parks with their room key. Third, if you are a Disney Dining Plan person, this is where the record scratches a little. The Swan and Dolphin explicitly say they do not participate in the Disney Dining Plan. So if prepaid dining credits are central to your Disney happiness, that matters. Slow Braised Wagyu Beef Short Rib And finally, these hotels do not have quite the same full-tilt Disney resort theming as Disney-owned Deluxe resorts. That is not necessarily bad. Some people love that the vibe is a little calmer, sleeker, and more convention-hotel-adjacent. Others want maximum Disney all day, every day, no notes. Know thyself. Who Should Book This You should absolutely look at the Swan, Dolphin, or Swan Reserve if you want Deluxe-level park perks, strong Crescent Lake location, excellent dining, and the possibility of fireworks views without paying top-shelf Disney-owned Deluxe prices. This is the sweet spot for people who want to be near EPCOT and Hollywood Studios, enjoy a more polished hotel feel, and would like their vacation to feel fancy without becoming financially theatrical. Walt Disney World Swan Reserve You may want to skip it if you are deeply committed to the Disney Dining Plan, want the most immersive Disney theming possible, or have your heart set on staying on the monorail loop for a Magic Kingdom-centric trip. It is a brilliant workaround, but it is still a workaround. The trick only works if it matches the trip you actually want. The Smart Splurge If you’ve been eyeing a Deluxe Disney World stay with a fireworks view and assuming it had to cost Grand Floridian money, this is your sign to zoom out and check the Swan, Dolphin, and Swan Reserve before you book. Because sometimes the smartest Disney splurge is not the one with the fanciest label. Sometimes it is the one that quietly gets you the perks, the location, the view, and the smug satisfaction of knowing you didn’t pay an extra five hundred bucks a night just for the privilege of saying you did. And frankly? That kind of victory hits almost as hard as the fireworks. Join the DFB Newsletter to get all the breaking news right in your inbox! Click here to Subscribe! Latest Fireworks News! 19. It’s not uncommon to see closures in Disney World, so that rides, stores, hotels, or restaurants have time to refurbish and refresh. Turf Club eats A little while back, we learned that two hotel restaurants would be closing for a few months each to undergo some refurbishment. But now, the dates of those closures have changed! At Saratoga Springs Resort, you can dine at the Turf Club Bar & Grill for a sit-down option, or head to the more casual Turf Club Lounge next door. These are the hotel’s only table service restaurants, and they’ll each be undergoing closures in the coming months. Turf Club Bar & Grill From late April to mid-August, The Turf Club Lounge will be closed. The Turf Club Bar & Grill will remain open with a pop-up bar serving a modified menu during that time. Originally, the lounge was supposed to close in mid-April, so it seems the date has been pushed back a little bit. Lounge area Then, from mid-August to mid-September 2026, The Turf Club Bar & Grill will be closed. The Turf Club Lounge will remain open at that time. It has more limited seating than the restaurant, so keep that in mind if you’re visiting during that window. Buttermilk Fried Herb Chicken Also, from early to mid-August 2026, the Turf Club patio will be closed. This is the outdoor seating area that overlooks the golf course and Disney Springs. Thankfully, that closure will only last a few weeks. Patio seating We’ll be keeping a close eye on these dining locations to see if there are any major changes, and if there’s something noteworthy, we’ll let you know! The Turf Club hasn’t usually been on our list of must-try dining spots in Disney World, but it’s a great spot to stop if you’re staying at Saratoga Springs and want something a bit nicer than the quick service. 20. The Muppets have taken over Hollywood Studios, and it keeps getting better! ©Disney This summer, Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets will be opening, and we’re pretty excited for their takeover of G-Force Records. While we don’t have an exact opening date yet, we know it’s coming soon, and every day it seems like Disney is one step closer to getting the ride up and running. From outside the attraction, we can see details like a giant guitar and a car. We’ve been keeping an eye on the car being repainted, but now Disney is working on the guitar, and it looks awesome! Right now, it looks very pink! It looks like it’s going to be BRIGHT! We were promised psychedelic colors representative of the Electric Mayhem, and Disney seems to be delivering. Bright, indeed We got to see them actually painting it, too, which is pretty cool. Who doesn’t love seeing their favorite Disney ride come to life? Hard at work Here’s a look at the car, too. Doesn’t it look like the Electric Mayhem is about to pop out of it? It looks great! We recently learned that “Song 2” by Blur will be part of the soundtrack for the ride. It will be covered by the Electric Mayhem, and this is just one of the songs on the list. Disney will announce the rest of the tracklist on April 16th, and we can only imagine how great the songs are going to be. ©Disney Disney also gave us a sneak peek at some of the posters coming to the ride queue! 21. Heads up, Disneyland Paris fans! Disney Adventure World (formerly The Walt Disney Studios Park) has been under construction for quite some time now to create its transformation, and with more attractions on the way, parts of it will be behind walls for a while longer. ©Disney Now, it seems another project is being added to the resort, as one of the most popular restaurants in Disneyland Paris will now be going under refurbishment. If you were hoping to dine at Paradise Gardens soon, you’ll be out of luck for nearly a YEAR! Paradise Gardens has now closed its doors for about a year of refurbishment. While no opening date has been announced just yet, the restaurant is expected to reopen in early 2027. In Disney’s words, the refurbishment will “refresh the guest experience while preserving the charm of this iconic Victorian restaurant on Main Street, U.S.A.” ©Disney This is one of the most elegant dining locations in Disneyland Paris, and to continue to match that experience, Disney will be completely overhauling the flooring, facades, and roofing in both the front-of-house area and kitchens. Throughout the building, inside and out, there will also be a new color palette that will “radiate a new Victorian spirit that retains its classic style whilst elevating the guest experience.” There will be new pastel green tiling to complement the new dark green carpet with floral motifs. The interior has been redesigned with 291 chairs, most of which have been reupholstered, and 40 banquettes, and the buffet area will have layout changes, themed carved wooden elements, new furniture for breakfast, and lower-height buffet areas to make dining easier for kids. ©Disney When talking about the changes, Stéphanie Bohnhoff, Principal Show Designer at Walt Disney Imagineering Paris, said, “As this renovation spans a considerable length of time, we are committed to creating changes that are visible to guests without betraying the original story of Plaza Gardens Restaurant. To further root the restaurant in a lush, verdant atmosphere connected to the gardens outside, we have selected new shades of green celebrating the different seasons.” The light fixtures have been updated to restore the bronze and brass metalwork and modernised with LED technology. Disney has also carefully restored the stained-glass canopies and repositioned decorative accessories to further keep the original design of the restaurant, while making it feel updated at the same time. 22. According to the Orange County Register, Disneyland has filed for confidential demolition permits for the Monsters, Inc. Mike & Sulley to the Rescue attraction in Disney California Adventure. Mike in Disney California Adventure These permits were filed with the city of Anaheim for the attraction, along with the Hollywood Lounge beverage stand nearby. Monsters, Inc. Mike & Sulley to the Rescue will remain open till 2027, even after Disney originally listed the closing date in 2026. They pushed the date back and said it would have no impact on the construction timeline for the new Avatar-themed land coming to the space. Avatar land at Disneyland ©Disney Disney California Adventure is getting this new Avatar land, the West Coast’s first Avatar-themed area, and will mostly be based on The Way of Water and Fire and Ash. Disney’s concept art shows a lot of water elements, including a water ride where guests are in boats. ©Disney Disney has been loose with the details, not specifically mentioning timelines or specific elements, and while rumors have been populating that they might instead switch from Avatar to a Zootopia-themed land, especially after the success of Zootopia 2 at the box office, no official announcements have been made. ©Disney There is also a Coco ride coming to Disney California Adventure! The ride will be filled with music from the movie as you join Miguel on a trip to the land of the dead. It’s the first-ever Coco ride in a Disney park. Disney CEO Josh D’Amaro said, “We’re bringing our skeletal cast of characters to life in a big way through the latest audio-animatronics technology. These figures will appear in ways you’ll have to see to believe.” We also have not heard any further details, but we’re very excited for the ride. ©Disney In the meantime, make sure you keep following Disney Food Blog for more Disney news. 23. The reopening of Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets is coming up this summer, and while we just recently got a sneak peek at one of the new songs coming to the attraction, the end of this week will be a HUGE day for Muppet fans. Rock ‘n Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets Disney has announced that we’ll be getting more information about this upcoming attraction VERY soon on April 16th, and now we’re only a few days away. If you don’t have it marked on your calendar just yet, this is why you’ll want to pay close attention later this week! April 16th will be a big day for Muppet fans, because that’s when Disney will be releasing more news about the rethemed ride. We know that the full tracklist for the attraction will be released on this day (so far we only know “Song 2” by Blur, but, of course, with The Electric Mayhem singing it instead of Blur), but it’s also possible we’ll hear even MORE news — perhaps even an opening date? Rock ‘n Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets So far, we know that guests will still be treated to a VIP tour of G-Force Records, which is now owned by Scooter’s real-estate tycoon uncle. The Muppets will be teaming up with “music’s biggest stars for a rockin’ music festival,” but similar to Aerosmith in the original attraction, they’re running behind, and it’s gonna take a super fast stretch limo (courtesy of Muppet Labs) to get everyone there on time. ©Disney Throughout the ride, we’ll get looks at Tinseltown, but with a Muppet twist, and Disney has promised “laughter, screams, and new tunes for this attraction for fans to enjoy throughout the adventure.” ©Disney While there’s been no news on whether a Virtual Queue will be used when this ride opens, we do know that it’ll be a Lightning Lane Multi Pass Tier 1 option. When you go to pre-book your three Lightning Lanes, you’re only able to select one Tier 1 ride at the start (once the day starts and you use up your pre-booked Lightning Lanes, you can book any included ride, no matter the tier), which means you’ll have to choose between Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway, Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run, Slinky Dog Dash, and Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets. We can’t wait! We’ll be sure to keep you updated on all the news about this upcoming ride, so stay tuned to DFB!
