We have fantastic news for those of you who have been on a Disney Cruise before, and are planning to sail on the Disney Treasure!

After youâve sailed with Disney Cruise Line one time, you become whatâs called a Castaway Club Member. There are 4 tiers to this loyalty program, starting with Silver (1 sailing), followed by Gold (5 sailings), Platinum (10 sailings), and Pearl (25 sailings). And we just found out that Castaway Club members of all levels will get special gifts when sailing on the Disney Treasure!
Disney recently sent an email to some Castaway Club members and released a video online teasing some of these new free gifts members will get if they sail during the new shipâs inaugural season.
From the small peek weâre given, it looks like members could be given a Disney Treasure shirt, stickers, pouch, lunchbox, and potentially something that looks like an even larger bag!

Now, we donât know yet if all members will get all of these goodies, or if it will depend on your status, but weâll be sure to let you know when we find out!

Itâs hard to top Motherâs Day at Disney World!

We hope you had a FANTASTIC Motherâs Day this past weekend! If you visited Disney World on the special day, we hope you stopped by Disney Springs and Amoretteâs Patisserie for a Motherâs Day treat! If you missed out â donât worry! We have the deets!
Amoretteâs Patisserie offered the Motherâs Day-exclusive Motherâs Day Ăclair and we were quick to try it! Read ahead to see what we thought!
Motherâs Day Ăclair
This dessert cost $7.25Â and was described as a lemon and lavender Ă©clair.
Aesthetically, this was a beautiful dessert! The âflowerâ icing decorations and chocolate medallion perfectly fit the Motherâs Day vibe and were quite tasty!
We picked up a hint of cream cheese (perhaps used as a base for the decorations) and the decorations balanced sweet and tart with a creamy texture. We only wish it wasnât so hot outside because our medallion melted QUICKLY.
Inside the Ă©clair
The Ă©clair decorations had to do a lot of heavy lifting, as we found the bread to be incredibly dry.
Fortunately, the filling had strong flavors of lemon and lavender and was creamy enough to leave us happy, when itâs all said and done.
These Ă©clairs didnât last long!
We thought this Ă©clair was a nice mix of sweet and tart, but thought it was a potentially messy dessert. Overall, we thought this was a good specialty treat.
Despite liking this Ă©clair, we canât recommend it simply because itâs no longer available! Weâll just have to wait and see if it returns for the next Motherâs Day!

Between new restaurants, rides, and rethemed classics, Disney is always trying to keep things interesting and exciting for us!

But, more often than not, that means a bit of renovation is needed in order to make it happen. Keeping up with the latest construction permits Disney files can be a great way to find out just what is going on around the parks and hotels, and we just found a pretty exciting one!
Weâre always on the hunt for the latest permits filed by Disney to get an idea of what sort of changes might be coming to the parks, and we just found an interesting one! A new permit has been filed for work over at the Carousel of Progress in Magic Kingdom.

The permit is for âgeneral constructionâ which could really mean anything â so weâre not totally sure what Disney has planned here. The Carousel of Progress first debuted at the New York Worldâs Fair in 1964 and was later moved to Disneyland before finding its final home at Disney World. So, this is a rather old attraction!

We donât think this will be a major retheme or anything, but the ride could use a little TLC, so maybe a refurbishment is on the horizon. For now, there arenât any closures listed for Carousel of Progress, but weâll be keeping an eye out!

In other permit news, we spotted that Swirled Showcase â the EPCOT festival booth â had a new permit pulled on it as well. The description lists âProvide labor, material, and/or electrical for construction,â so weâll be keeping an eye out for any changes here as well. Itâs possible we could see something new here in time for the Food & Wine Festival!

And, despite its recent extended closure, yet another permit has been filed for the Doubloon Lagoon pool at Port Orleans French Quarter â so weâll let you know if any more closures are on the horizon for this pool soon enough.

Summer is nearly here and although summers at Disney World are a blast, there are still some downsides you need to be warned about.

Between large crowds and hurricane season, Disney World can be tricky to navigate during the summer months. However, one of the most glaring issues is the heat â and Disney World guests will be feeling it in spades this week!
According to News 6, the Orlando area will encounter scattered storms and high temperatures in the next few days thanks to a stationary front.
Can you beat the heat at Disney World?
Tuesday (May 14th, 2024) is supposed to be the hottest day of the week with temperatures reaching 94 degrees Fahrenheit and a heat index of 102. Wednesday remains nearly as hot with temperatures around 91 degrees and a heat index of 99 degrees. Thursday also shows similar trends.

The heat is expected to feature highs of mid- to low 90s and peak heat indices between 100-105 degrees in the afternoon hours, according to News 6. Lows are expected to remain in the upper 60s to low 70s in the evenings.
Rain is possible every day through Sunday, May 19th, with rainfall possibility being as high as 60% on Wednesday. Monday and Tuesday each have a 50% rainfall chance and Friday through Sunday each have a 40% chance. Thursday has the lowest rain chance with 30%.

If youâre visiting Disney World this week, or any week where this kind of weather might occur â we have a few recommendations.
Rule No. 1 is to always stay hydrated and take breaks as needed. The heat will make it nearly impossible to go full speed. Also be sure to pack sunscreen and other protection, such as hats, cooling towels, and misting fans. We also recommend wearing breathable clothes and bringing stormwear with you to the Disney Parks, like ponchos and rain jackets. Remember, these are hot STORMS, and youâll need to prep for the heat AND the rain.

By this time next year, Universal Orlandoâs new park, Epic Universe, could be open!

Weâre still waiting for an official opening date to be announced, but until that comes, weâre keeping a close eye on all the latest construction updates. One of the most anticipated new lands is the new Ministry of Magic section, which is partially set in Paris (from the Fantastic Beasts films), and well, we think itâs looking really familiar!
Thanks to @bioreconstruct on Twitter/X, weâre able to see a birdâs eye view of all the construction happening in the new park, and s it just us, or does the Paris section of the Ministry of Magic look a LOT like the France Pavilion in EPCOT?

While the colors arenât exactly the same, weâre loving that the architecture looks so familiar. We love the EPCOT pavilion, so weâre really hoping weâll feel like weâre in Paris here too!

Itâs no secret weâre BIG fans of the food in all the parks at Disney World.

But Disneyâs Hollywood Studios has some delicious snacks that we particularly care to enjoy. Star Wars: Galaxyâs Edge has delicious ronto wraps, Toy Story Land has fun âtotchosâ and pop tarts, plus so much more. But there is one snack cart that weâve been worried about for a while now, and clearly, we had good reason to be!
For the past month or so now, weâve noticed that the Grand Avenue Snack Cart was closed every time we visited it. This snack cart is located on Grand Avenue (hence its name) near the new Ice Cold Hydraulics stand and the walkway to MuppetVision 3D. Donât worry, weâve included a beautiful drawing of its precise location!

But sadly, we have seen it all covered up like in the picture below for a while now.
Itâs been closed for a while now
When we were back in the park the other day, we found that the snack stand was completely GONE! Disney removed the snack stand, but the umbrella that is normally with it was still there.
Itâs GONE!
Disney didnât give any indication of what has befallen this snack stand, and weâre certainly worried about its condition. It could be getting an upgrade or perhaps taken to never return again. We love our snacks, so one less place to grab them is unfortunate. Itâs more than likely that it will return, but weâll be keeping our eyes out for it! If youâre in the neighborhood and in need of a snack, then consider hopping over to Ice Cold Hydraulics for some Coca-Cola-flavored treats.

Weâre in Disney World every day of the year, so weâve come to know the parks very well.

Thatâs why weâre always sharing the latest Disney World secrets with you, as well as our best tips and tricks. We also like to keep you updated on new food, plus any cool new facts we learn about the parks. Well, although weâve been to Disney World HUNDREDS of times, weâre still learning something new every day. We just recently learned something about a Magic Kingdom ride that blew our minds, so we had to share it with you!
Okay, so weâve all been on Space Mountain, right? Itâs a classic Disney attraction that is a MUST, even though we know itâs going to shake every bone in our body loose from the joints (seriously, our poor backs). So letâs talk about Space Mountain. It feels kindaâ fast, right? Well, Space Mountain is going under 30 mph. Thatâs it. It just feels more thrilling in the dark, we guess.

Okay, letâs talk about The Barnstormer over in Storybook Circus. So The Barnstormer is considered a âkiddie coaster,â because it mostly appeals to kids (although, we wonât lie â we love Barnstormer and think itâs way underrated). However, did you know that Barnstormer and Space Mountain go about the same speed? No, really, thereâs only about a 2mph difference between the two.

In comparison, one of Magic Kingdomâs other roller coasters, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, goes around 36 mph. So itâs not MUCH faster, but itâs enough to make a difference and to sling you into whoever youâre riding with when you take those sharp turns.

However, if you want something a LOT faster, Magic Kingdomâs newest ride, Tron Lightcycle / Run, offers speeds up to nearly 60mph. Now THATâS fast.

So why is The Barnstormer considered a kiddie coaster? Well, itâs certainly marketed that way because most of Storybook Circus is very kid-friendly. But the truth is that it offers a very similar experience, at least when it comes to speed, as you get on Space Mountain. The only difference is location and theme. How wild is that?

We would also argue that The Barnstormer isnât as bone-shaking as Space Mountain. It certainly feels like a smoother ride. So if youâre looking for a coaster that isnât TOO fast and that is a little more comfortable, head on over to Storybook Circus.

We are âalmost there!â It was an exciting weekend as Disney FINALLY announced the opening date for Tianaâs Bayou Adventure in Disney World!Â

We have been keeping a close eye on the construction progress in Magic Kingdom, and we are excited that we finally know when we will be able to travel through the New Orleans Bayou with Tiana and friends. The attraction will officially open on June 28th, 2024, and we have the perfect thing for opening day!
Now that we officially have an opening date for Tianaâs Bayou Adventure, the time has come to plan your outfit for the day. Well, you are in luck! Tianaâs Bayou Adventure
Our anticipation has only been building since Tianaâs Bayou Adventure was announced in 2020 to replace Magic Kingdom and Disneylandâs Splash Mountain. After countless construction and merchandise updates, we finally have the BIGGEST update! Soon, YOU can FINALLY ride the brand new attraction!
OK, Disney fans, mark June 28th in your calendars because thatâs when you can FINALLY ride Tianaâs Bayou Adventure!Â
Construction Cast Members ride testing!
The new attraction is a log flume ride that still features a 52.5-foot drop and takes riders on a tour of the bayou based on Disney Animationâs 2009 classic The Princess and the Frog. Riders will join Princess Tiana and jazz-loving alligator Louis after the events of the 2009 film as they prepare for a Mardi Gras and New Orleans celebration. The attraction will also feature many familiar faces, some new ones, heavy Louisianna inspiration, and new and returning music.

Additionally, Disney finally confirmed that Magic Kingdom will host preview opportunities ahead of the official grand opening for Florida-based Cast Members, Annual Passholders, and eligible Disney Vacation Club Members. Weâre still waiting on more information (like sign-up dates and availability), but we expect to learn more starting May 14th.Â

Disney World often holds attraction previews for certain guests such as media members, DVC members, Cast Members, and D23 Gold members, so if you fall into one of those categories, be on the lookout as you might yet get to experience this brand-new ride early!

Itâs been a long time coming. Weâve been monitoring the construction progress in Magic Kingdom for AGES as Splash Mountain slowly transformed into Tianaâs Bayou Adventure. Disney has shared all kinds of fun updates about the animatronics on the ride, teased a beignet-scented queue, and tested the big drop LIVE in Magic Kingdom. We also shared that the ride is opening in Magic Kingdom in the summer of 2024, but now the moment has arrived â we have the official, CONFIRMED opening DATE!
Now, you might have noticed we emphasized an official, confirmed opening date. Thatâs because this news was seemingly leaked EARLY. Yep, Disney shared â and quickly took down â a press release announcing the opening date on May 12th. Below, you can see the dateline read â(TBD, 2024).â

A few minutes after Disney shared the news, the press release was removed from the Disney Press Website. That had fans wonderingâŠWHEN is Tianaâs Bayou Adventure actually opening?!

Well, during ABCâs special âDisney Nightâ episode of American Idol, Disney confirmed that Tianaâs Bayou Adventure will officially open in Magic Kingdom on June 28th, 2024.

Disney also confirmed that Florida-based Cast Members, Annual Passholders, and eligible Disney Vacation Club Members will be able to preview the ride AHEAD of the opening date! More information will be revealed starting May 14th â stay tuned!
Tianaâs Bayou Adventure in Magic Kingdom
While Park Passes are not required for those with date-based tickets anymore, if you are an Annual Passholder or have tickets that still require Park Passes, you should make your Park Pass reservations for Magic Kingdom A.S.A.P. if you want to be there on the rideâs opening day! We expect those Park Passes will fill up in no time!

For those unfamiliar with it, Tianaâs Bayou Adventure is a Princess and the Frog re-theme of Splash Mountain. While youâll still get to experience the signature drop from the old ride, the story will be all new. The ride picks up after the Princess and the Frog movie, giving you the chance to âjoin Princess Tiana and Louis on a musical adventure â featuring some of the powerful music from the film â as they prepare for their first-ever Mardi Gras performance.â

According to the story of the ride, Princess Tiana has opened her own restaurant (Tianaâs Palace). She is now hosting a Mardi Gras party for the community that has supported her and her restaurant, but she realizes that a key ingredient is missing, and she needs your help to find it!
Itâs Mardi Gras season!
Youâll get to help Tiana on this quest while also meeting lots of friends â old and new! Princess Tiana will appear with a NEW look, and weâll get to see other characters too, like Eudora, Charlotte, âBig Daddy,â the King and Queen of Maldonia, Prince Naveen, Louis, Mama Odie, and even Prince Ralphie (Naveenâs brother).

Some of the new characters for the ride include a band of musical critters! The song will have a NEW original song created by PJ Morton, all kinds of special details in the queue (like the smell of beignets!), and more.
AND Tianaâs Bayou Adventure will even feature a few âsubtle nodsâ to Splash Mountain throughout the ride.Â

So, grab somebody, come on down, catch you down in New Orleans (well, technically weâll catch you down in Frontierland, but you get the idea!).

Being a Disney World Passholder comes with a lot of great perks.
Annual Pass
First, you can often get FREE souvenirs just for having a Disney World Annual Pass. Plus, Annual Passholders can get exclusive access to special merchandise, early ride previews, and their own lounge in Disney World. Annual Passholders can also save on shopping and dining. Well, for a limited time, that dining discount just DOUBLED.
Normally, Annual Passholders can save 10% at most dining locations in Disney World. Well, Disney is once again hosting its V.I.PASSHOLDER Days, which is a yearly Annual Passholder appreciation event. On the backside of Tren-D, located in Disney Springsâ Marketplace section, youâll find a new Shipping Post! (Itâs located in the former stroller rental location, by the Marketplace Co-Op.)

This small store is pretty nondescript, so itâs easy to walk right by, but you can head in here and talk to a Cast Member if you have something youâd like to ship home.

Thereâs a scale to weigh how your package and the computers are powered by the UPS Store. This is a fantastic option for people who have traveled a long way or canât pack a large souvenir in their luggage.Â
