  2. We interrupt your regularly scheduled programming to bring you extremely important food news. ©Foodbeast Taco Bell No, we’re not talking about Disney World for once. And, surprisingly, no — we’re not even talking about McDonald’s this time, either. You see, Dear DFB Reader, a new menu item has debuted at Taco Bell and yes, we’re telling you all about it. Everyone remain calm, because Taco Bell’s newest menu item is here. The Cheesy Chicken Crispanada has arrived and will only be around for a limited time. Fans of empanadas will likely enjoy this take on the classic, which is made with a fusion of melted cheese, juicy tender chicken, and vibrant Mexican spices in a crispy, crunchy shell. It’s also served with a side of Spicy Ranch. From the masterminds of the Taco Bell test kitchen comes the Cheesy Chicken Crispanada. The brand’s take on the iconic empanada is set to hit menus nationwide for a limited time starting February 15, bringing with it a fusion of craveable flavors. The Crispanada was first tested in Tennessee in 2023 and is available nationwide for a limited time in participating Taco Bell stores nationwide. Inspired by the classic empanada, the Cheesy Chicken Crispanada is “a portable delight designed for easy enjoyment anywhere, anytime.” We don’t know about you, but for those who are often eating Taco Bell on the go, this sounds like a match made in heaven. 3. One Disney park is about to get some major expansions! ©Disney Tokyo DisneySea is getting the highly anticipated Fantasy Springs expansion later this year, complete with areas themed to Tangled, Frozen, and Peter Pan. But on top of that, there will be a new Fantasy Springs hotel. And one section of that hotel is going to be the most expensive Disney hotel yet. Say hello to the Tokyo DisneySea Fantasy Springs Hotel — Grand Chateau! This stunning new resort is set to open on June 6th, 2024. ©Disney The Fantasy Springs Hotel is a park-integrated hotel, and those staying there will be able to enter Fantasy Springs through a dedicated entrance. Attraction tickets and tickets for viewing shows are included in your guest room fee at Fantasy Springs — these offerings will allow you to experience attractions and entertainment with shorter waits. ©Disney But the big thing about the Grand Chateau section of the hotel? It’s extra luxurious! ALL of the rooms have a balcony or terrace with a view of the park, and the accommodations are stunning. The decor even includes concept art of Disney characters that can be swapped out for periodic updates. ©Disney The Grand Chateau is pretty exclusive, as there are ONLY 56 rooms in total. Each room can sleep up to four people (except for the accessible rooms — those sleep three). There are six different room types available: Alcove Room Terrace Room Terrace & Alcove Room Terrace Accessible Room Grand Room Grand Terrace Room ©Disney Prices will vary depending on when you stay, but for the opening night, Grand Chateau rooms START at 300,000 yen, which is about $1991 US dollars. They certainly look like expensive rooms, with gold gilding details and painted artwork on the walls and ceilings. ©Disney Even the bedrooms have gold accents and fancy red draperies above the beds. Things just seem more expensive when you cover them in velvet, don’t ya think? ©Disney The excessive detail extends into the bathroom as well. Just look at this light fixture above the mirror! What is its purpose? Why is it so ornate?! We’re not sure, but for $2000+ per night, we’re not complaining about a little extra pizzazz. ©Disney So if you’re prepared to shell out the big bucks and live a life of opulence for a few days, you can book your stay at Tokyo DisneySea Fantasy Springs Hotel — Grand Chateau now! But if you’re a bit more low-key or your pockets aren’t quite as deep, you can book its more chill neighbor, the Fantasy Chateau, instead. ©Disney | Fantasy Chateau We’ll keep you in the loop with more updates about the Fantasy Springs expansion coming to Tokyo Disney Resort, so stay tuned to DFB for the latest updates! Well, the day has finally come and the most popular fast-food chain on Earth has fully embraced the movement — including a name change! Beginning February 26th, 2024, McDonald’s is rebranding as “WcDonald’s”, an ode to its fictional existence in the anime world. 7. Walt Disney Parks and Resorts has been named in a new lawsuit filed in Orange County following the death of a patron. Disney Springs Raglan Road, an Irish pub and restaurant located in Disney Springs, is also named in the suit. (Note that Raglan Road is a third party operator, so, legally, they would be considered the involved party.) Jeffrey Piccolo filed the 19-page lawsuit against Disney and Raglan Road after his wife, Kanokporn Tangsuan, a doctor at NYU Langone, suddenly passed away on the evening of October 5th, 2023. The suit alleges that Piccolo, Piccolo’s mother, and Tangsuan visited Raglan Road at Disney Springs for dinner and advised their waiter of Tangsuan’s severe food allergies, requesting allergen-free food. The suit states that the patrons questioned the waiter about menu items “to confirm whether they had allergens in them or not.” Raglan Road Per the suit, the waiter went to ask the chef if certain foods could be made allergen-free, then returned to the table and confirmed that they could. The documents indicate that it was confirmed that “Raglan Road would prepare allergen-free food for Kanokporn Tangsuan.” According to the case, the waiter assured the diners that the food would be allergen-free, and so Tangsuan ordered “Sure I’m Frittered (V)”, “Scallop Forest”, “This Shepherd Went Vegan (V)”, and “Onion Rings”. When the food arrived, the suit says, the diners noticed that the customary allergen flags usually served with allergen-free food were missing, and once again confirmed with the waiter that the items were allergen-free. Disney Springs The suit says that around 8PM, Tangsuan and Piccolo’s mother decided to go shopping at Disney Springs while Piccolo returned to their room with their leftover food. The two women then separated for a while, before Tangsuan headed to Planet Hollywood. Around 8:45PM, the suit alleges, Tangsuan entered Planet Hollywood “while suffering from a severe acute allergic reaction to the food served at Raglan Road.” Emergency medical services were called and were advised that Tangsuan was having an allergic reaction and had administered an Epi-Pen. Jeffrey Piccolo was later informed that Tangsuan had passed away. According to the medical examiner’s investigation, Kanokporn Tangsuan’s cause of death “was as a result of anaphylaxis due to elevated levels of dairy and nut in her system,” the lawsuit reads. Disney Springs Piccolo is seeking damages of more than $50,000 under Florida’s wrongful death act, in addition to mental pain and suffering, loss of income, and funeral expenses. The suit indicated Disney failed to educate, train, and instruct its employees to make sure food, indicated as allergen-free or requested to be made allergen-free, was in fact safe. Raglan Road Walt Disney Parks and Resorts has received a FARE (Food Allergy Research and Education) Award “for dedication to providing a safe and enjoyable dining experience for vacationing families.” You can read more about dining with allergies at Disney World here. DFB has reached out to Raglan Road for comment on the lawsuit. Walt Disney World is not providing any statements at this time. 9. Disney World is introducing some BIG changes in 2025! Cinderella Castle Walt Disney World Resort has already made some monumental changes to its parks this year, and we’re looking forward to all the changes to come. Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is set to open this summer, one of our favorite restaurants is making a comeback, and an all-new festival area is set to open in EPCOT. However, Disney resorts around the globe never stop changing and now we know of a big change that will be introduced to Disney World hotel guests in 2025! Beginning tomorrow February 27th, 2024, guests can start booking their 2025 Disney World Vacation Packages. With that said, 2025 room reservations will look a little different than they do now, though — according to an official Disney press release, 2025 arrivals for room-only reservations can cancel their reservations UP TO EIGHT (8) DAYS before their arrival without penalty. Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort Previously, reservations could be canceled up to five days before to avoid penalty, so this change does restrict Disney World hotel guests a bit more than in years past. Canceling 0-7 days out from the reservation will result in the forfeiture of the deposit (the cost of a one-night stay). The Big Blue Pool at Art of Animation Disney representation confirmed that the Vacation Packages cancelation policy has not changed. The current Vacation Package policy is as follows: If you book your resort reservation in a Vacation Package (the resort reservation includes a room and park tickets), you can cancel the entire package up to 30 days out from your arrival date for a full refund. From 2 to 29 days, you can cancel but will be penalized a $200 cancelation fee (prices are subject to change). If you cancel the day before or on the day of your arrival, the penalty is a complete forfeiture of the entire package cost. It’s important to note that changes to a package that includes a hotel stay will impact the entire package — meaning you can’t single out the hotel when canceling. Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort Also being included in the 2025 Disney World Vacation Packages is FREE water park access on the day of arrival. That means on the day you check in you can hop over to Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park or Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park (whichever is open) to get your vacation started even faster — free of charge! Typhoon Lagoon Water Park We’ll keep you posted as more 2025 Disney World news, rule changes, and fun tidbits unfold, so stay tuned here at DFB for all the latest! 11. When it comes to choosing where to go on vacation, you’ve literally got a whole world at your fingertips (for the most part.) World Showcase So, why is it that Disney Adults just love coming back to the one place they know best — Disney World? When Ibiza, Mykonos, and Tulum are no longer the trendy vacation spots, you’ll find Disney Adults in the Most Magical Place on Earth. And, here’s why we just love ignoring the latest vacation trend. Disney World is the Most Magical Place on Earth and no one knows that better than Disney Adults. In fact, there’s a reason (okay — there are LOTS of reasons) why they feel that way. Let’s face it — Disney World can be just as expensive, if not more, than a full-fledged European vacation including airfare and decent hotels. It’s no secret that trips to the House of Mouse don’t come cheap — so why do they keep ignoring the latest vacation trends? Disney World We think it can be summed up by this TikTok that has been making the rounds: If you’ve ever traveled with a Disney Adult outside of a Disney park, then you’ve potentially heard the words, “They have that at EPCOT.” And, in most cases, it’s probably true. Of course, we know EPCOT is nothing like seeing the real thing — but when it comes down to it, most of the time Disney Adults really just don’t care. We don’t mean to generalize, as there are plenty of well-traveled Disney Adults. But, they are still Disney Adults after all. Hello from EPCOT! One thing Disney Adults have in common is that when we walk through the park gates and we find ourselves on Main Street, U.S.A., we suddenly believe in magic because we’re surrounded by it. Of course, we know it’s just a person in a costume, but we can suspend our disbelief and have enough fun to feel like a kid again for a few hours. Tower of Terror Not only that, but for many Disney Adults, the parks bring a sense of nostalgia to the forefront. Growing up going to Disney World is a privilege, and we don’t think many take it for granted — otherwise, they wouldn’t have such a deep appreciation for the parks all these years later! The Disney fandom has been likened to a religion, and it’s that shared sense of tradition and love for the parks that keeps Disney Adults coming back again and again — even when the hottest new vacation spot is halfway across the globe. And, when it comes to deciding where you want to go on your next vacation, don’t let anyone give you any gruff about going to Disney World! It’s your money and your time, so use it as you see it! 16. We’re counting down the days — okay, hours — until the 2024 EPCOT Flower & Garden Festival kicks off! It’s almost time! This year’s event runs from February 28th through May 27th and will bring all sorts of delicious eats and drinks, exclusive merchandise, exciting entertainment, and more to EPCOT. Some of our favorite parts about this festival are all the floral displays and topiaries you’ll find throughout the park, in fact, an iconic EPCOT ride has received a refresh for the festival and we’re checking it out. Living with the Land has received a bit of a makeover in celebration of the EPCOT Flower & Garden Festival! We stopped by this iconic attraction to check it out. The festival doesn’t officially begin until February 28th, but Disney has already started setting up the food booths, topiaries, and now — this ride overlay! Living with the Land There’s a Winnie the Pooh-themed picnic happening in one of the greenhouses! We spy a basket with reusable cutlery and dishes, some Corkcicles, veggies, and of course — honey. We just have one question: How do we get an invite to this picnic?! Seems like an event we don’t want to miss. How do we get an invite to this picnic??? There are other displays set up throughout the ride that aren’t normally there, either, and from what we can tell Disney is still working on setting up the final touches of this overlay. It’s possible that the full makeover won’t be complete until the festival officially begins, so keep that in mind if you’re heading to EPCOT before then. And, if you’re heading to the park for the Flower & Garden Festival, make sure you check out all of our posts to help you prepare! Another display The FULL MENUS have been released and you can see all the new items (there are over 70!!!) here. There will also be six brand-new character topiaries, and we’ve already seen a few pop up! This year, several all-new topiaries will be joining the more than 70 others! One in particular is a nod to a favorite superhero movie. Groot(!!) will be making an appearance as flora colossus from the Guardians of the Galaxy movies with a giant cassette tape high above his head. You’ll be able to find him near the Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind ride. ©Disney Stay tuned to DFB — we’ll be bringing you live coverage from the first day of the festival once it kicks off on February 28th! 17. You can really learn A LOT about a person by what’s in their bag (and how well they know Disney World)! ©Amazon Overpacking can be a scary idea for a day at Disney. Think about it — having to lug around all the things you THINK you need versus what you’ll actually end up using. But we recently asked our Disney World reporters what strange and weird things they’ve grown to pack in their bags — and you won’t believe half the things we came up with! DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission. You can bet we’re probably toting around a few Fuel Rods! ©Amazon Fuel rods are sold in kiosks in the parks and hotels at Disney World, and when you’ve depleted the battery on yours, you can exchange it for a fully charged one at any of those kiosks! These are super handy to carry around with us in the parks because we’re able to keep charged constantly. We don’t have to worry about losing power because they can always be swapped out for a fully charged one at any of the kiosks installed in the parks and hotels across Disney World. But here’s the real secret — you don’t have to buy them from the kiosk when you’re ready to start using them. Grab them on Amazon before your trip for MUCH cheaper! VIEW ON AMAZON We’ll probably throw in another Portable Charger for good measure, too. ©Amazon Yeah, we’re not ashamed to admit that we’re super paranoid about being without power for our devices, and having multiple chargers gives us extra peace of mind. We take dozens of videos and photos on our phones every day to share with you! As you can tell already, getting through security to the parks is a bit of an adventure for us. We do find Anker-brand portable chargers to be reliable and FAST. And this magnetic charger eliminates the need to manage a cord while we’re walking and charging. VIEW ON AMAZON Stickers… yes, we’re serious! Mickey Sticker You know the ones! The white ones with the little Mickey on them that you’ve probably been awarded after answering a trivia question (or the whole game) correctly! You’ll probably best recognize them in the hands of a child but we love these little tokens too! Side note: We’ve probably collected these after multiple trips to the park and don’t judge us if you see them spilling out as we unzip our bags, they’re too cute to throw away! We’re also probably running around with multiple Memory Cards. ©Amazon Along with staying connected, we’ve GOT to make sure we’ve got all the storage for the awesome DFB videos! If we’re worried about staying charged, you know we’re worried about storage and toting around a few extra SD cards for added memory is a must. On your trips to Disney World, you probably take more photos and videos than you do in other situations, too! So be sure you don’t run out of memory! VIEW ON AMAZON We’ve also got our Allergy Eye Drops. ©Amazon Do you have seasonal allergies? If you live in a different climate than Florida, you are probably accustomed to having seasonal allergy issues a few months a year. But here’s the thing about the warmer weather in Florida: Pollen is a thing all year. The worst months are usually April, May, and June, but seasonal allergy sufferers might have issues any time of the year. And you’re spending tons of time outside in Disney World. So, you’ll probably find some eye drops in our bag too. Don’t worry, we’re not looking to bury our faces in those flowers and colorful topiaries at the Flower and Garden Festival, but we like to be prepared when the pollen starts stirring up! VIEW ON AMAZON Cough Drops can literally be the one thing that holds our day together. ©Amazon Chances are we’re stopping to talk to lots of people. Between other folks in line, meeting characters, and asking questions of Cast Members to bring you the latest Disney World info, it can take a toll on our voices. Having a few cough drops on hand will help keep us talking through the rest of the day! VIEW ON AMAZON A seemingly random pair of *checks notes*…Socks? ©Amazon Being in Florida definitely has its weather perks, but sometimes we have to deal with a little bit of liquid sunshine (A.K.A. rain) in the parks. Completing our day in soaked shoes and socks is no fun for anyone, so we’ll probably have a spare pair of socks on hand just in case we run into a random rain shower! VIEW ON AMAZON We’d be lost without our Resealable Bags! ©Amazon We use these for so many things! We’re carrying empty ones to use for those sopping wet socks we just mentioned, and leftover snacks or food. We’re also probably carrying a cooling towel in one, and maybe a snack or two we brought to the parks with us. VIEW ON AMAZON Above all, we can’t forget our Lens Wipes! ©Amazon Random, we know, but WORTH IT! All those fabulous photos and messy treats aren’t always kind to our cameras. If we don’t carry something to wipe them clean well, you won’t have a whole lot to look at. We’re very thankful we carry around our small lens wipes for instances just like this (especially on festival days!). You may want to grab some to clean sunglasses you’ve had in your bag, or your phone screen you just dripped Dole Whip on. VIEW ON AMAZON This is just a small sampling of what you’ll find in our bags. 19. The one great thing about planning a trip to Disney World is that you have a lot of options for where to stay on property, including hotels for lower budgets. All-Star Resorts We’ve all saved some $$$ by staying at the value resorts, Disney World’s cheapest category of hotels. After all, staying there frees up money to spend on more important things…like FOOD. Whether it’s the All-Star Resorts, or the Pop Century or Art of Animation Resorts, if you just need a hotel room good for resting at night between park visits, Disney’s got you covered. But we’re worried about these hotels, and we’ll tell you why. No new value resort since 2012 Disney has not built a new value resort in over a decade. The last was Art of Animation, which opened in 2012. The most RECENT hotel built in Disney World would be a deluxe resort, the Riviera, which was opened in 2019. Here’s the thing: A LOT of families depend on the value resorts because they’re trying to save money, but are there enough budget rooms to accommodate everyone? Crush at Disney’s Art of Animation We think not. We also think Disney would get MORE people to Disney World if it had more value resort options. Considering Disney’s current focus seems to be on creating more Disney Vacation Club properties (which are pricey), it seems the company has forgotten the value hotel guests. We think Disney needs more value hotels! My UNPOPULAR OPINION On The BEST Disney World Hotel Value of Them All. Don’t Knock It Til You Try It. Rooms are all the same One thing that Disney World has done in recent years is give the value resort rooms a refresh. Now, those rooms used to have themes that were in line with that hotel’s theme, but now, many of the standard rooms at the value resorts look EXACTLY the same. It’s like Disney completely gave up on theming those rooms to give them more personality. Value resort room Were the room upgrades needed, yes? But did Disney have to decide to be so uncreative with the result? No. So now, you only get great theming at the value resorts OUTSIDE your room. We’re guessing those room updates could eventually spoil the fun themed rooms at Art of Animation, too (but we hope not!). PHOTOS: Disney’s Pop Century Resort Standard Room Tour Food courts are all the same One thing that has irked us the most about the value resorts is that ALL the food courts pretty much have the same menus now. We remember when Landscapes of Flavor at Art of Animation was different and offered options not found anywhere else. Even Pop Century had a menu that wasn’t the same as the All-Star Resorts. Landscapes of Flavor doesn’t have a lot of…well…flavor anymore Now, those menus are identical, showing how Disney has decided to pull even MORE character personality away from those hotels. We get it — it’s easier this way, but it shows that Disney doesn’t want to focus a lot of time and attention on value resorts, even with the food. The Deterioration of Landscape of Flavors Food Court From Awesome To Awful As we mentioned, Disney’s deluxe hotels have been getting room upgrades, refreshed lobbies, and even new restaurants. In the meantime, we’re wondering if we’ll ever see a new value resort being built again, and we hope the existing value resorts aren’t neglected! Stay tuned to DFB for more. 21. Perhaps the BEST thing about going to Disney World is the little surprise moments that Disney Cast Members make! We love Cast Members! Over the decades that we’ve been visiting the parks, we’ve seen many of these. From the elusive clap box to random pop-up trivia games to limbo and hula hooping in the streets. Cast Members are constantly finding ways to plus up our day just a little bit at a time! And one of our favorite examples of this is the incredible water art from the custodial staff. If you don’t know what we’re talking about, then allow us to introduce you to a fun hidden detail! Select custodial Cast Members have trained in the magic of water art, where they can draw Disney characters on the ground around the parks using nothing but some water and a special mop. We most often see characters like Mickey, Donald, Minnie, Goofy, Pluto, or even Oswald. Mickey Mouse water art But on a visit to Magic Kingdom recently, we spotted a RARE character — the Hatbox Ghost! We just HAD to stop and talk to the wonderful Cast Member who created him. It’s the Hatbox Ghost! Joel from custodial is the one who drew this incredible picture, and he shared a little bit of the backstory with us! He personally designed this water art, and it premiered as a drawing last year, but was exclusive to Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. At the time, management approved the design for ONLY during the Halloween party because the Hatbox Ghost hadn’t yet premiered in the Disney World version of the ride. The incredible Joel! Joel says that the Hatbox Ghost art took him about a day or two to design, and then once it was approved he practiced it for a week. It’s one of the more advanced designs out there, so you probably won’t see it in Magic Kingdom as often. If any custodial Cast Members want to learn it, Joel will need to train them personally. It’s so cool! Now that we know the backstory, we feel even more honored to have caught it during the few minutes before it dried. We tip our hats (and our hatboxes!) to all the talented artists and the incredible custodial team! 22. At the beginning of 2023, Splash Mountain was closed to bring us an all-new movie-themed ride. You are all probably familiar by now with the new ride — Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. Tiana’s Bayou Adventure The ride so many of us grew up with, is in the middle of a massive re-theme. The new Princess and the Frog-inspired ride will be opening this coming summer in Magic Kingdom. While we’ve gotten some sneak peeks from Disney about what we will see inside this new ride, we have noticed a few details on the outside that could be big hints about some changes coming to the ride. And if you’re Hidden Mickey hunters, we’re afraid one might have gone missing. The outside of the new Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is quite beautiful. There’s tons of greenery and flowers, and if you look close enough, you can spot Mama Odie’s glass bottles. Mama Odie’s bottles dangle from the opening of the ride But Mama Odie’s glass bottles aren’t the only thing we noticed when looking at the opening where we’ll soon be dropping from. A big part of the rock formation seems to have been removed which surprisingly causes a huge change. If you remember riding Splash Mountain, you would climb up the giant hill to eventually fall down the big drop. But just before barreling over the crest of the hill, you could spot a very large and discreet Hidden Mickey. The Hidden Mickey on the left side was the profile of the iconic mouse. You had to be looking closely and quickly to spot this Hidden Mickey, but the profile of Mickey seemed to be there, just over the castle. Hidden Mickey This Hidden Mickey was formed by a large rock that jutted out into the opening on the outside of the ride. You can see it on the right side of the facade, just below the large tree trunk (which has also been removed). The rock on the right side created the Hidden Mickey when looking from the inside, out. If we compare the front of Splash Mountain to the front of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, you’ll notice that this large rock has been removed! Comparison of the fronts of the two rides. Since this large rock has been removed, we’re anticipating that this once-fun Hidden Mickey will no longer be there when we get to ride the new attraction. However, we may have an even better view of Cinderella Castle! Front of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure Hidden Mickey’s can be found all around Disney World. They are objects, lighting, fireworks, or pretty much anything that could resemble Mickey (or one of his friends like Donald Duck). We love going around the parks to spot as many as we can, and they are often added to new attractions. So we’ll be eager to find out if Tiana’s Bayou Adventure has any new Hidden Mickeys! Until then, keep following DFB for all your Disney news! 23. Is there ever a BAD time to eat a half-pound cookie in Disney World?! Gideon’s Bakehouse Cookie Hmmm. Well, maybe that introduction didn’t work as well as I thought because it’s definitely not a great idea to eat a full half-pound cookie right before you ride TRON Lightcycle / Run or after a delicious (but very filling) meal at Liberty Tree Tavern. What I really mean is “Is there ever a bad time to visit Gideon’s Bakehouse in Disney World?”, and the answer to that question is a LOT more complicated. Gideon’s Bakehouse is a fan-favorite bakery located in Disney Springs. The Springs is a shopping and dining district in Disney World, and it’s great because you don’t need to buy a ticket to get inside! You can head straight in to find some of the best food and shopping in Orlando. NOT your average shopping mall Gideon’s opened in Disney Springs in early 2021, and it’s been incredibly popular ever since. With HUGE cake slices and half-pound cookies (yep, we weren’t kidding about those gigantic cookies, y’all), it’s no wonder why people love this bakery! Add spooky vibes and quirky illustrated character portraits to the mix, and we’re completely sold. mmmmm cookies This bakehouse is SO popular, in fact, that you usually have to join a virtual queue just to go inside (it probably doesn’t help that it’s tiny inside, so only a few people can go in at a time). To go in, you head to the bakery and talk to an employee standing outside, who will add you to the virtual queue. You can walk around the Springs for a while until you’re called back when it’s your turn to go in. Gideon’s virtual queue HOWEVER, I recently went to Disney Springs pretty late at night, and that’s where the GOOD NEWS about Gideon’s Bakehouse at night comes in! The Good News When I visited Disney Springs at around 9:30PM recently, there was NO virtual queue for Gideon’s! I walked right up to the physical line outside the bakery and hopped in. The line only took about 20 minutes before I was next to go inside. Gideon’s at night Waiting only 20 minutes to get into Gideon’s Bakehouse is usually unheard of, so could it be the ultimate HACK for getting all those amazing treats with no multi-hour wait?! Gideon’s Cookie Well…here comes the bad news. The Bad News When I got inside Gideon’s Bakehouse, I saw that the cake slices were almost completely SOLD OUT for the day. In fact, there was only one cake slice left! Visiting at the end of the day might mean much lower wait times, but you’ll run the risk of missing out if any of the treats have sold out for the day. Some cookies were sold out, too Luckily, Gideon’s still had some cookies left, so I wasn’t completely out of luck! But if you know me, you know how much I love that cake, so it was still pretty sad. Here’s what the cake display USUALLY looks like…but not this time! In conclusion, it’s a risk to visit Gideon’s Bakehouse late at night instead of earlier in the day. You probably won’t wait nearly as long, but you might not get as many options for treats, either! If you do happen to visit Gideon’s when they’re sold out of the treat you’re looking for, don’t forget that there are lots of other great dessert options in the Springs, like Salt & Straw, the Cookie Bar at Summer House on the Lake, and Amorette’s Patisserie.
