Disney/Pixar’s Inside Out 2 officially premiered in theaters on Friday, June 14th! Inside Out 2 is officially in theaters! Disney has been celebrating the release of the new movie around the parks in tons of different ways. So far, Inside Out 2 has been celebrated with a new character meet and greet, specially-themed treats, an addition to a popular nighttime show, and more. And it looks like that excitement has DEFINITELY spread throughout Disney World! Inside Out 2 is off to a strong start at the box office. In fact, Deadline reported that by the end of the premiere date on Friday, the movie had made $60 million at the box office, making it the second-best opening day for an animated movie after 2018’s Incredibles 2 at $71.2 million. Inside Out 2 Promo If you’re hoping to catch Inside Out 2 at the AMC Theatres in Disney Springs, beware — the tickets are selling out FAST! AMC in Disney Springs We checked the ticket availability this morning for several different showtimes, and at the time we looked, there were only a few seats left for the 7:30PM showtime, most of which were in the front few rows closest to the screen! Only a Few Seats Left for 7:30PM! The situation was similar for the 5PM showtime, which only has a few single seats left towards the back of the theater, plus groups of seats in the front few rows. Tickets are selling out! Even the later 10PM showtime is getting close to selling out, with some single seats throughout the theater, plus more availability in the front. The 10PM showtime is busy too Based on Inside Out 2‘s overall strong start at the box office, it makes sense that the movie tickets are selling fast in Disney Springs. But if you’re planning on checking out the new movie at Disney Springs, beware that seats are filling up, and buy your tickets early! EPCOT has been quite the ordeal, recently. The transformation is officially over now that CommuniCore Hall and Plaza are open, but the changes aren’t stopping there. EPCOT If you wander around EPCOT, you’ll likely still see ongoing construction. Near the Imagination pavilion, work is being done on an unknown attraction, the DVC lounge in the Imagination pavilion is getting updates, and Mission: Space is still getting a facade facelift. However, an all-new project is about to begin on Test Track while other refurbishments across Disney World continue. Test Track Test Track has officially closed as of June 17th for its reimagining. Reimagining concept art ©Disney Disney has shared that the new version of Test Track will take inspiration from the old ride, World of Motion, which was originally there when the park opened in 1982. Other than that, Disney hasn’t shared many other details about the project, including a re-opening date. We’ll be watching for more updates! What Will Disney World Change at Test Track? Here Are the 5 Biggest Theories We’re nearing the end of a few closures in Disney World, but many will continue this week. Take a look at what else will be closed during your trip to the parks from May 15th through May 22nd! Magic Kingdom Tiana’s Bayou Adventure We’re getting SO close to the grand opening of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure! The new ride will be themed to The Princess and the Frog, and it opens on June 28th. View after the drop on Tiana’s Bayou Adventure Annual Passholders, DVC members, Cast Members, and D23 Gold Members previews have begun! The walls finally came down on May 30th, and we finally got to ride it on June 7th after several shutdowns and evacuations. Climbing the hill Critter Co-Op and Tiana’s General Store will also be opening in Magic Kingdom near Tiana’s Bayou Adventure around the same time that the ride opens. We recently got a sneak peek of the new souvenirs, and y’all, they’re adorable! Tiana’s Bayou General Store There are so many details on the new ride, and we did a comparison of it to its predecessor, Splash Mountain. It’s a fun ride that still takes you over the huge drop! Country Bear Jamboree Country Bear Jamboree closed on January 27th, 2024 for refurbishment. While the sign for the show has now been covered up for a while, we know Disney is hard at work getting the new show ready. New costumes and details have been shared recently that are getting us excited to see the new act! Hey, pals! Disney announced that a NEW show is coming to Country Bear Jamboree, with the bears learning an all-new act. The new show is set to open on July 17th! With Country Bear Jamboree and Tiana’s Bayou Adventure closed, that leaves just Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Tom Sawyer Island, and the Walt Disney World Railroad open in Frontierland. BREAKING! Opening Date Announced for NEW Country Bears Jamboree Show in Disney World Tomorrowland Terrace Tomorrowland Terrace was a quick-service restaurant that has remained closed since the 2020 pandemic-related closures, but even before that, this spot was only occasionally open. Tomorrowland Terrace Once in a while, you’ll see the dining room open as a rest area (and it’s still being used for the Magic Kingdom Fireworks Dessert Parties), but it’s usually all roped off and empty. Disney hasn’t announced when this spot could finally reopen, but we’ll be watching for updates. If you’re looking for a nice spot to work in Disney World, this could be it! The WORST Time To Go Shopping in Magic Kingdom EPCOT Disney Vacation Club Lounge The DVC lounge at the Imagination pavilion in EPCOT is closed for a short refurbishment. Imagination Pavilion The lounge closed on June 2nd and will remain closed until July 13th, 2024. While the lounge is closed a temporary DVC lounge has been set up in the Odyssey pavilion. You will still find snacks, drinks, and places to sit here, though only half the pavilion has been blocked off to be used as the lounge. Lots of seating! It’s still a great place for DVC members to take advantage of the air conditioning spot to relax. We Spotted a Problem with EPCOT’s NEW ‘Encanto’ Show Restaurant Marrakesh Restaurant Marrakesh is still closed in the Morocco pavilion of EPCOT’s World Showcase, and there’s no word yet on when it might reopen as a dining location. However, the restaurant kind of opened on May 1st. It is functioning as an Annual Passholder lounge from May 1st through June 26th. Restaurant Marrakesh building Even though we’re still waiting for the full restaurant to reopen, Annual Passholders will be able to enjoy the air conditioning, charging stations, and complimentary food and beverages. There may even be opportunities to meet “special friends” throughout V.I.Passholder Days, according to Disney. We still don’t know if it is permanently closed or if it could reopen as a restaurant, but we’ll take what we can get. I Have a Controversial Opinion About EPCOT’s Food and Wine Festival Disney’s Hollywood Studios Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster closed on January 8th, but it’s officially opening once again on July 27th, according to the available times on Disney’s website! Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Last year, when the ride closed around this time (on February 20th, to be exact), it reopened on May 26th. This year’s closure has been significantly longer, but we know that many of us Disney fans will be flocking to the park on July 27th so we can finally ride this roller coaster that we’ve missed so much! REVIEW: A New Annual Passholder-Exclusive Treat Is Now in Disney’s Hollywood Studios! Voyage of the Little Mermaid Well, it’s official — Voyage of the Little Mermaid is permanently closed in Disney World. We had suspected this was the case for some time (as it hasn’t actually been open for a few years now), but now the permanent closure has been confirmed. Voyage of the Little Mermaid Disney is going to introduce a NEW show in this spot, though it will still be themed to the animated movie The Little Mermaid! The new show will be called “The Little Mermaid — A Musical Adventure” and is coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Fall 2024. ©Disney It will be a “fully reimagined theatrical production inspired by the Walt Disney Animation Studios classic.” NEW LOOK at ‘The Little Mermaid’ Show Coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios! Blizzard Beach Blizzard Beach had its last open day on March 16th, 2024 before it closed for refurbishment. Blizzard Beach has nine attractions that we won’t be able to enjoy this week. Blizzard Beach While Blizzard Beach closed, Typhoon Lagoon opened on March 17th, 2024. The two water parks often rotate off and on for being open. Disney has not given a timeline for this new closure or how long Typhoon Lagoon will be open. We’ll be watching for any updates, though! Another LENGTHY closure to a popular Disney World ride seems to be in the future of a popular ride at Magic Kingdom. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad It seems like we were just getting back to another version of normal with the upcoming opening day of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure after transforming the former Splash Mountain attraction into a new ride and news of a reopening date announced for Rock ‘n’ Rollercoaster at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Now, it seems Disney World’s not ready to let up on the construction traction just yet, as they’ve just filed a permit to start work on ANOTHER major ride. It seems like there’s a lot of work going on around Disney World’s rides and attractions, but they’re not ready to let up just yet. Disney has filed a permit for “general construction” at Magic Kingdom’s Big Thunder Mountain Railroad ride that could kick off sooner than we think. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad While the permit doesn’t specify what will be worked on in this attraction during its construction, we can bet that it will be at least some type of refurbishment that could take a lengthy amount of time. Typically, when permits are filed we tend to see a year’s expiration date from the date of filing however, what’s interesting about this one is that it’s quite extended beyond the norm. The expiration date listed on the permit for this general construction is set to expire in August 2025. ©Orange County The contractor listed to perform the work is also familiar with Disney World construction and refurbishments in the past. Coastal Steel, Inc. has been named in the permit to complete the proposed work to the ride. If their name sounds familiar to you it might be because Disney has also entrusted them to perform the upcoming extensive refurbishment to Test Track which closes later this month. We’re hot off the heels of the opening previews of Splash Mountain’s gigantic transformation into Tiana’s Bayou Adventure (the park’s newest ride) and a refurbishment to the Frontierland Train Station boarding and unloading stairs. New steps to the Frontierland Train Station Of course, it could be that Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is truly due another big glow-up. While it’s had a few shorter refurbishments recently which resulted in stinted closures, it could be in need of major repair to ensure that it’s able to withstand the test of time against the natural elements. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad Another point that’s interesting to note is that Disney has yet to announce the ride’s upcoming closure and no operating dates seem to have an end to them as it currently stands. We’re sure though that when Disney’s ready to make an announcement further on this closure, we’ll see that reflected in its operating dates. We’ll be keeping a close watch over when you can expect Big Thunder Mountain Railroad to close for however long Disney World needs to complete its construction and refurbishment of the ride. If you’re a Disney foodie, EPCOT is where you want to be right now! Although we’re spending the summer in a bit of a hiatus in festivals until it’s time for EPCOT’s Food & Wine Festival to begin, EPCOT’s still pumping out some great summertime treats to cool off and eats that you’ve really got to hunt down! Churro Sundae But the new menu items didn’t just stop there! If you’re a dole whip fan there’s another cool treat to stop by and try out and we’ve got all the details! Summer is here and it is HOT! Trust us — we’re looking for any way we can beat the Florida heat, even if it means taking a quick snack break to cool down. We recently stopped by one of our favorite restaurants in Mexico around EPCOT’s World Showcase to see what dreamy dessert they’ve added to their menu (and try it out)! La Cantina de San Angel If you look towards the lagoon, along the edge you’ll find La Cantina de San Angel. This is Mexico’s quick-service restaurant that typically serves light bites like nachos and guac, tacos, and of course some frozen margaritas! But we were after a different kind of treat this visit — something sweeter! Menu La Cantina de San Angel just added a new Churro Sundae to their menu which is made of mango Dole Whip, layered with whipped cream, and topped with lime Dole Whip and colorful green, red, and white sprinkles. This new treat will cost you $7.99 however, it’s worth asking if they offer any discounts for groups like Disney Vacation Club members. Churro Sundae At first glance, it’s really pretty to look at with a commanding presentation. There are several small bites of churros stuck into the lime Dole Whip at the top of the treat to call it a “churro sundae”. The lime flavor was bright and fruity and then when we dug into the middle the lime and mango flavors were divided by a full layer of sugary whipped cream. Lots of fruit-flavored Dole Whip The mango also was fruity and sugary and really tasted like you would expect it to. It almost reminded us of the treats we’ve seen recently at Swirls On The Water at Disney Springs. Where it lost us was its namesake — the churros. Disney World’s churros are notorious for being tough and crunchy on the outside and this treat’s churro bites were no exception, unfortunately. Although, we must say that it’s kind of hard for something to be soft and chewy when it’s stuck into a frozen treat so that couldn’t have helped its chances against the frozen soft serve. Churro bite It’s a cute float and stayed together against the intense Florida heat fairly well… until it didn’t. Eat quickly All in all, this is a good treat if you’re really looking for something sweet and cold to cool off with, but we wouldn’t have you count on the churros being the softest. It was a nice summery treat that will take the edge off the heat and distract you long enough to enjoy the lime and mango flavors but you’ll want to start digging in right away before it gets super melty on you. Run into the holiday spirit! runDisney If you’re a runner, it’s time to start gearing up for runDisney’s 12Ks of Christmas Challenge. If you complete it this December, you could earn three merry 4K medals, and a Challenge medal featuring Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse. According to Disney, the challenge is made up of “three virtual 4K races hosted by favorite Disney friends. Even more festive… each of the race medals (three 4K medals and one Challenge medal) doubles as an ornament.” In addition, you’ll be able to unwrap “exclusive swag like a long-sleeve hooded shirt, a holiday Corkcicle mug and a box of Twinings holiday tea. Talk about a happy holiday!” runDisney ears The virtual 4Ks are made up of three courses “hosted” by Donald & Daisy, Pluto, and Goofy respectively. As runDisney breaks down in their rules, “Participants track their own times, and completion is based on the honor system. Once you complete your run, visit the finisher website to submit your finish time and download your race certificate.” 12 Ks of Christmas If you complete the courses in the allotted time – – between December 1st and December 31st – -your medals will be will be shipped “at the conclusion of the event completion timeframe” to the physical address you submitted during the event registration process. Registration for the event opens up on July 9th, and costs $267. As with other runDisney events, fees for the runDisney Virtual 12Ks of Christmas are “non-refundable and include a separate processing fee.” Disney also “reserves the right to revoke any registration for any race for any reason in its sole discretion with refund of any applicable registration fees being the sole remedy of any such refusal and/or revocation.” runDisney In addition, Disney will be making a an independent donation to Toys for Tots in honor of the runDisney Virtual 12Ks of Christmas. Disney World is full of so many different hotels that cater to almost any need. Shades of Green From Value to Moderate to Deluxe and everything in between, chances are you can find a Disney World hotel that tickles your fancy. And if you ask us, some of the best parts about the Disney hotels are all the restaurants you have to choose from! But, if you’ve got an upcoming stay booked at one particular hotel, we’ve got a dining update you might want to know about. Heads up if you’ve got an upcoming stay at Disney World’s resort exclusively for United States military families, Shades of Green! One of the restaurants at this hotel will be updating its hours and will temporarily be closed for lunch and dinner starting soon. Garden Gallery buffet Garden Gallery Marketplace, a buffet restaurant at Shades of Green, will be closed during lunch and dinner from July 7th until September 29th, 2024. However, the restaurant will still be open for breakfast from 7AM to 11AM — so you can still enjoy a meal before heading out to the parks! Omelet Station Also, keep in mind that you can still visit Evergreens Sports Bar and Mangino’s for dinner during this temporary closure. According to a post on Facebook, this change is due to Shades of Green reevaluating its offerings for the summer. We’ll be keeping an eye on these changes and will let you know if it looks like Garden Gallery will be reopening anytime sooner than planned! No dinner! So let’s talk about the drinks we tried! Splash of Blues and Frozen Pineapple Cooler The two drinks we wanted to try were the Splash of Blues ($16) and the Frozen Pineapple Cooler ($14). Let’s start with our thoughts on the Splash of Blues. Splash of Blues and Frozen Pineapple Cooler The Splash of Blues has this fun blue color and is made with Absolut Vodka, Beefeater Gin, Bacardi Superior Rum, Corazon Blanco Tequila, Bols Blue Curacao Liqueur, Sour Mix, and Sprite. Splash of Blues Like we said, it’s been boiling outside (Florida feels like it’s on the surface of the sun right now) so the first thing we noticed was how melted this one got immediately. This definitely impacted the overall flavor, or shall we say, lack of flavor. Splash of Blues What we could taste well was the sour mix, but we definitely got a lot of the alcohol aftertaste with this one. To be perfectly fair, since it was so hot out and melted so much, we’re not too sure if there would’ve been more flavor usually or not. Overall, it wasn’t our favorite, but it might be a good option for you if you’re not a fan of overly sweet drinks. Now, let’s talk about the Frozen Pineapple Cooler! This one has a bright yellow-orange color and is made with Lunazul Reposado Tequila, Pineapple Juice, Mango Puree, Lemon Juice, and Lime Juice. Frozen Pineapple Cooler Wow. Right off the bat, what a difference. There’s a LOT of pineapple flavor and it’s super refreshing, especially with all this heat. Frozen Pineapple Cooler Now, we didn’t get much of an alcohol taste with this one, and pineapple is the strongest flavor (don’t go expecting to taste anything else). We love filling up our reusable water bottles, lacing up our comfiest walking shoes, and throwing our charged-up power bank into our park bag. But there’s one thing that we love more than the rest and it’s turned out to be the most useful Disney World item we’ve purchased in forever! Let’s talk about it! The new menu items in Disney World just keep coming but this one, you’ll have to time just right to snag! New menu item alert! New breakfast items and limited-time treats have been popping up all over Disney World lately and have been filling our bellies with so many good eats but now, EPCOT’s hitting hard with a new addition of its own. But, as we came to find out, getting your hands on their savory new dish might be harder than you think! On a recent trip out to EPCOT to take a walk around the World Showcase, we decided to pop into Regal Eagle Smokehouse for a quick bite to eat (and to cool off becuase it’s been very hot lately)! We found ourselves craving something a bit more savory than any of the snacks we could grab at the surrounding snack carts and decided to browse the menu just in case we spotted anything different. Regal Eagle Smokehouse It was a good thing we did because right away, something in particular caught our attention! There at the ordering stations, we noticed a new menu item that wasn’t featured on the restaurant’s menu on the My Disney Experience app. New menu item! When we asked about the new dish, the Cast Member we spoke to said that it was a limited offering that’s only available on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays so we knew we had to try it right away! This new offering is called the Barbecued Pulled Chicken Sandwich, costs $12.29, and comes served with your choice of side. Barbecued Pulled Chicken Sandwich The sandwich itself is made up of a barbecued pulled chicken sandwich with house-made pickles, coleslaw, and an onion ring on a brioche roll & your choice of side. Oh boy, this thing can get messy quickly! Inside look You almost can’t tell this sandwich is made with chicken, but that could be becuase the meat is saturated in barbecue sauce. The coleslaw and pickles are tangy and crunchy which added some interesting flavor and texture to it. This sandwich also has a bit of a low heat to it (probably due to the barbecue sauce), while the onion rings are the familiar nice and crispy rings we are used to getting here and it was a nice choice to include them. Half of the sandwich We wouldn’t let this one sit too long though because the bun is super soft and will soak in all the sauce making it soggy and harder to keep together the longer it sits! If you’re a big chicken fan or just a fan of barbecued meats in general we think you should try this elusive sandwich with all its fixings when you can but if you’re someone who prefers all of your extras on the side, you might do better opting for one of the less adventurous menu items. So many toppings All in all, we appreciated the inventiveness of this new sandwich and wonder if Disney World might be experimenting with more permanent changes to the meats offered at Regal Eagle Smokehouse in the future, but that’s a conversation for some other time. Either way, we’ll keep watching as EPCOT continues to make changes to its menu items and let you know all the latest details. It’s certainly no secret that it gets pretty darn hot around Disney World. Cinderella Castle And we don’t just mean your regular ol’ hot. We mean, you’ll be sweating through your tank top, you’ll want cooling towels and neck fans, and you absolutely MUST stay hydrated for the sake of your health level of heat. While an ordinary summer day can be quite hot at Disney World, the temperatures are already heating up. DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission. We’re about to get real — because you know what’s real? Getting swamp crotch at Disney World. You know what we mean. It gets HOT in Central Florida during the summer and some areas of the parks don’t offer much respite from the heat. Thus, you inevitably end up sweaty and uncomfortable. But, there are some things you can do to help mitigate just how uncomfortable you get and help you avoid getting swamp crotch at Disney World. Anti-Chafe Sticks Stop sweating at the source — 0kay, don’t actually stop it because it means your body is doing it’s job — but you can at least significantly cut down on just how much the extra moisture can make you uncomfortable by tossing an anti-chafe stick in your park bag. There are powders too, but we find the sticks to be easier to use in an on-the-go situation. EPCOT They basically work like deodorant and help keep your bits dry. Just head to the bathroom and reapply when you feel like you need to, and hopefully, you’ll be good to go. We love the MegaBabe version! You can shop them by clicking the links below. View MegaBabe on Amazon Choose Your Colors Wisely Look, sweating is normal — especially when you’re battling temperatures upwards of 90 degrees. But, we also understand wanting to not necessarily look like you’ve been sweating all day when you’re in the parks. So, choose the color of whatever bottoms you choose to wear wisely if you want to avoid the look of swamp crotch. Animal Kingdom Grey is pretty much a no-no, along with other light colors. White is usually a safe bet, along with navy, black, and other dark colors. But, even if you forget this trick — chances are you won’t be the only one with swamp crotch so don’t worry about it! Moisture Wicking Undergarments This is not the time for your ahem prettiest pairs of underwear, alright? Instead, we recommend going for comfort. And, in this case, comfort means the most breathable and moisture-wicking undergarments you can find. Tower of Terror, Disney’s Hollywood Studios You’ll find plenty of options online, and don’t worry — some of them are even pretty cute, too. The idea here is that the fabric allows moisture to pass through and dry quickly, so you’re not left with an uncomfortable situation. Breathable or Athletic Clothing Along the same lines as the moisture-wicking undergarments, making sure you’re wearing breathable fabrics or athletic wear can make a huge difference in the battle against swamp crotch. Running shorts or skorts, bike shorts, and athletic dresses are some of our favorite options. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad Not only are they comfortable which is helpful for the heat and the level of walking you’ll be doing, but athletic wear is designed to get sweaty and is usually quick to dry because of it. One of our favorites for the parks is this tennis skirt with built-in shorts! View on Amazon Hand Fan for Cooling Off We also love tossing a small, battery-powered hand fan into our park bag. Trust us, these babies can cool down more than just your face and neck! Staying cool and hydrated is essential when you’re sweating so much, and a little fan can do wonders when you think you just can’t take it anymore. Disney World One of our favorites is linked below. Father’s Day is almost here and Disney World is getting into the celebration! Magic Kingdom Father’s Day falls on Sunday, June 16th, and we’ve been on the lookout for all the ways to celebrate throughout the resort. One of them includes fun treats exclusive to the Disney World Resort and we’ve got a few NEW items to discuss! Let’s take a look at all the delicious desserts available for the celebration of Father’s Day! Hole-in-One I’ve never thought golf could look so delicious. The Hole-in-One features a fudge brownie paired with salted caramel, pecans, vanilla cheesecake, and a chocolate golf ball medallion that displays “Happy Father’s Day” on it. ©Disney There is also a mini red flag on top, making this a golf-tastic dessert (we’re not sure if that’s a thing, but we’re rolling with it…double pun…you’re welcome). This is a returning dessert but still, so GOOD; and it’s available through June 16th at The Artist’s Palette over at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort. Smoked Cherry Old Fashion Tart Another returning favorite, this Smoked Cherry Old Fashion Tart consists of cherry ganache, Jack Daniel’s Crémeux, bitters chantilly, and applewood-smoked bacon. An interesting but rewarding combination. Smoked Cherry Old Fashioned Tart This tart is not only flavorful but also elegant in its presentation. This tart will be available through June 16th and can be found at Gasparilla Island Grill, Roaring Fork, and Contempo Café. Caramel-Banana Ganache Square We are going BANANAS for this one. These Caramel-Banana Ganache Squares are a brand new treat available at The Ganachery over at Disney Springs and consist of bananas blended with caramel chocolate and dressed up completely in milk chocolate. @DisneyEats Instagram If you’ve had chocolate at The Ganachery before, then you know how DELISH these are going to be. Available through June 30th, these would easily make the perfect Father’s Day dessert. Spiced Milk Chocolate-covered Bacon Also new at The Ganachery is the Spiced Milk Chocolate-covered Bacon. Bacon and chocolate are two of the greatest things ever invented so we’re sure this combination is going to slap! Disney has popped up (too corny?) with quite the news! If you’re as much of a popcorn bucket fanatic as we are, you’re gonna love what they have in store. The cutest little popcorn Jellycat is just as excited as we are! Popcorn buckets are one of the most popular items at Disney parks. Not only do they make the coolest souvenirs, but you can also get discounted popcorn refills whenever you bring them to participating popcorn carts (we sure do love a functioning souvenir). Now, Disney has revealed their newest popcorn bucket coming to both Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea and we are OBSESSED with the design! Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea are known for going above and beyond with their attractions, food offerings, and merchandise. Tokyo DisneySea just opened up their newest expansion, an eighth port called Fantasy Springs, which features lands themed after Peter Pan, Tangled, and Frozen. Each land hosts incredibly immersive attractions, shops, and restaurants themed after each film. The lands in the port are the Frozen Kingdom, Rapunzel’s Forest, and Peter Pan’s Never Land, where guests can experience moments seen in the films, like flying through Neverland or eating at the Snuggly Duckling. The expansion is incredible (how amazing does it look?!) and many are excited to experience the magic for themselves. It’s so beautiful! But if Tokyo’s popcorn game is what you’re after (they have a great one, to be sure — don’t forget to try the soy sauce and butter flavor!), you’ll definitely want to know about this new addition! This popcorn bucket features an entire RELIEF map of the Tokyo Disney Resort on the bucket’s lid. Sprinkled all around are icons of the parks and classic Disney characters. Around the bucket itself are all the lands and ports found within the parks, with our fave Disney pals having fun as they explore them. ©Disney The strap has all the characters along with the same resort icons and ‘Tokyo Disney Resort’ displayed on it. Two rubber charms also adorn the strap: One of Mickey and Minnie looking up excitedly and the other charm showcasing a compass with Cinderella Castle in the middle and a banner with the quote “Where Dreams Come True.” ©Disney This popcorn bucket is a part of the “Where Dreams Come True” collection for the Tokyo Disney Resort and every item in the collection features the same fun pastel-colored design, recognizing the resort’s different icons and lands. Disney’s culture war with Ron DeSantis may officially be over. ©Governor Ron DeSantis Website After several years of political and legal battles, and several months of deescalation and settlement deals, Disney’s most recent legal action seems to indicate that the company’s long-running ideological battle with Florida’s governor has cooled. On June 13th, Disney officially asked a federal appellate court to dismiss its lawsuit against Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, effectively ending the company’s legal issue against his administration. The move came less than 24 hours after the DeSantis appointed Central Florida Tourism Oversight District gave second and final vote of approval to a new 15 year agreement between Disney and the state that will see the company invest approximately $17 billion in Walt Disney World. The new deal gives Disney the authority to construct additional hotel rooms, retail, and potentially a fifth full theme park and/or additional water parks. In turn, the company agreed to “donate up to 100 acres of Disney World’s 24,000 acres for the construction of infrastructure projects controlled by the district, award at least half of its construction projects to companies based in Florida, and spend at least $10 million on affordable housing construction in the state.” Bryan Griffin, Communications Director for the governor’s office, said of the deal “This agreement is a big win for central Florida and will lead to numerous jobs and improved guest experiences.” The end of the lawsuit likely signals the overall end of the years-long battle between Disney and DeSantis. The feud began in 2022 when Disney eventually spoke out against DeSantis-backed legislation which “banned classroom lessons on sexual orientation and gender identity in early grades.” DeSantis in-turn fought Disney both on the campaign trail during his doomed 2024 presidential campaign, and legislatively, where he used political clout to take over the governing district that Disney had established in the 1960s, appointing a new board of handpicked supervisors. ©Disney Throughout 2023 and into 2024, Disney and DeSantis’s government engaged in legal battles, with lawsuits and countersuits proliferating. However in March of 2024 — arguably not so coincidentally just weeks after DeSantis suspended his presidential campaign — Disney and the DeSantis-backed board were able to come to a settlement that in-turn led directly to the new agreement and now Disney dropping their lawsuit. Magic Kingdom It remains to be seen whether Disney’s relationship with the governor will turn contentious again, but for now it seems the long-running feud between the two is on ice. Okay, here us out: we love Totchos — almost as much as we love plastic cheese. Okay, okay, we know that’s probably not anything new. Roaring Fork We’ve spent a lot of time talking about the Totchos at Woody’s Lunch Box in Hollywood Studios. There’s just something about those little potato barrels (tater tots, Disney, they’re tater tots) covered in toppings that just feels so satisfying every time we eat them. But Disney has done something that may be even better. The Totcho game has been ELEVATED! Because now we have the BEST Breakfast Totchos EVER. Okay, so we first discovered the Loaded Totcho Bowl for breakfast at Disney’s All-Star Resorts, but we’re starting to see it pop up on other menus at other value hotels, as well as some moderate hotels. Even better? We just found the Loaded Totcho Bowl at a deluxe hotel, Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, for breakfast. It seems like Disney understands that EVERYONE wants in on breakfast totchos. Yep, you can get the Loaded Totcho Bowl now for breakfast at Roaring Fork. Loaded Totcho Bowl So the Loaded Totcho Bowl is potato barrels topped with scrambled eggs, cheddar, sausage gravy, bacon, and green onion, all for $10.99. So it’s basically a full breakfast in one bowl. What’s not to love? Even if you’re not a big breakfast person, you’re going to want to eat this. Truthfully, we might even pick this over a Mickey waffle for breakfast — no, really! YUM The textures blend so well together with the creamy gravy, the tender bacon strips, and the scrambled eggs with gooey cheese. The green onions add a touch more flavor. Plus, it’s all on top of crispy tots. The only thing we can say against it is that it feels like a small portion, but um…we were really hungry when we tried it. So good Anyway, this is a really good way to get a filling breakfast on-the-go, especially if you’re fueling up for a day at the parks. Of course, you can always grab a Mickey waffle to go with it, so you can have the best of ALL worlds and an even more filling breakfast — we certainly won’t judge you. We just wish we could get these for lunch and dinner, too, because, we would! So needless to say, you should never skip out on breakfast at Disney World hotel quick-service spots — they could certainly surprise you. Plus it’s way cheaper — and faster — than breakfast at a table service restaurant (but if you still want a table service breakfast experience, especially with characters, we get it). Kusafiri in Animal Kingdom has Breakfast Totchos for the same price with Potato Barrels, Scrambled Eggs, Nacho Cheese Sauce, Cheese Curds, and Crumbled Bacon. Magic Kingdom Disney World likes to celebrate the holidays a little early, and by early, we mean Halloween in August! Magic Kingdom will soon be gearing up to host Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party, but preparations for the party may start popping up sooner than you would think! It is never too early to start thinking about Halloween, especially at Disney World, and we will take any excuse to celebrate Halloween for even longer! Halloween fans, your wait for the spooky season is drawing close, and you are going to want to visit the Magic Kingdom in August for this specific reason! Magic Kingdom The first Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party of the 2024 season will be on August 9th, which means Magic Kingdom needs to be decorated in its finest Halloween decor before then. Fall at Magic Kingdom Last year, we saw decor go up in JULY! Granted, it was July 31st, but it is still funny to think about Halloween so early. Magic Kingdom during Halloween season The decorations are expected to go up on a similar schedule this year, so if you are looking for some ghoulish delights, Magic Kingdom during the first week of August is the place to be! I mean, who does not love to see the Mickey Jack-o-Lanterns adorn the Main Street street lamps? Hey Mickey! And come on, look how adorable the Main Street Pumpkin Citizens are! We’re still a ways away from the opening of Universal Orlando’s Epic Universe, but that hasn’t stopped us from being SUPER excited about Universal’s third park. ©Universal The new park will have a total of five NEW themed lands, meaning new rides — and more importantly — new RESTAURANTS. There will also be THREE new hotels, including one hotel that will be located INSIDE the park. Yep, Universal has BIG things in store for Epic Universe. How big? Well, let’s just say that the size of Epic Universe is now more than twice as big as we initially thought. According to The Orlando Business Journal, Universal City Development Partners Ltd., a subsidiary of Universal Orlando Resort, recently filed documents with Orange County, Florida, that show that the original 700 acres of planned development for Epic Universe has increased to over 2,000 acres. Yes, that’s more than DOUBLE the land. The plan was reviewed and approved by the Orange County Development Review Committee on June 7th. ©Universal | Epic Universe Concept Art This new plan also calls for a change of use for whatever Universal wants to develop around Epic Universe’s opening in 2025. The properties are part of a Major Economic Development Project (MEDP) which is county-sanctioned, the Shingle Creek Transit & Utility Community Development District. To get an idea of how the new plan expands Epic Universe, here’s what that plan looks like now. WOW. That’s a MASSIVE expansion. ©VHB So what exactly is Universal planning on doing with all this extra land? There’s a good chance some of it will become even more hotels. Although three hotels are currently in the works, it’s likely that there will be even MORE demand for hotel rooms once Epic Universe opens. Two Loews-owned hotels are currently in the works, the Universal Stella Nova Resort and Universal Terra Luna Resort. Universal is also building an in-park hotel, Universal Helios Grand Hotel. ©Universal Studios Although we expect Universal to announce more hotels near Epic Universe at some point, we can’t rule out that the new plan also gives the Epic Universe theme park plenty of room to grow. There could even be a chance that Universal has plans to add more lands to the park in the future. We need to point out, though, that none of this has been discussed yet, and Universal has not yet laid out any plans for more hotels or additional lands for the theme park.
