  1. A LOT of new things are coming to Disney World this summer. But out of all the fun newness, one of the things we were most excited to experience at Disney Springs is LEVEL99, an interactive, challenge-based social space for adults featuring 63 life-sized physical and mental games and challenges, opening on June 29th. Pineapple Banana Painkiller In addition to the games and challenges, LEVEL99 features a central two-story bar with craft food offerings. The two-story bar is encircled by glowing neon lights visible throughout the venue, making the food an integral part of the atmosphere. So obviously, we had to try the whole menu to see if the food lives up to the hype! To drink, we got the Pineapple Banana Painkiller for $13.50. This is made with Clean Co. Clean Rum alternative, Giffard alcohol-free pineapple liqueur, banana, coconut cream, lime, and nutmeg in a zero-proof mocktail. This is one of Level99’s Pouched Cocktails, which are basically like an adult CapriSun. Pineapple Banana Painkiller This Painkiller is non-alcoholic, but made with a zero-proof rum, so you still get the spiced taste of a traditional Painkiller. It had a lot of pineapple and banana juice, which was super refreshing after walking around in the Florida heat. This was thicker than a traditional Painkiller, almost a smoothie-like consistency, but it still came out of the pouch just fine. While the pouch seemed gimmicky at first, we found it was very practical to carry into all the venues to play games while drinking! Pineapple Banana Painkiller To eat, we tried the Loaded Elote Guacamole for $12. These are tortilla chips served with charred corn, queso fresco, lime crema, tajín, and cilantro. Loaded Elote Guacamole This elote guacamole is housemade, and it tasted so fresh! The dip itself is like a thick queso, so it’s cheesy and salty. There are a lot of corn pieces mixed in, and they’re all charred to add a great crunch. The tortilla chips are also housemade, and they’re so salty and flavorful that we could eat them by themselves and be happy. Loaded Elote Guacamole We loved trying this new food at LEVEL99 at Disney Springs. Stay tuned to Disney Food Blog for more Disney World food reviews! 2. If you’re visiting Disney World soon, it’s likely that you’ll take advantage of at least one of Disney World’s table service restaurants (or more because there are SO many great ones!). You are also probably aware that a tip is customary when dining at table service restaurants. Disney World Receipt However, for some, a new Florida law will change how that works in restaurants. We’re going to get you up to speed on this law and explain how it will affect your dining at Disney World table service restaurants. In 2025, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis signed a new bill into law that requires “Every public food service establishment which charges an operations charge includes an automatic gratuity or service charge in the price of the meal shall include notice on the food menu, written contract, and website or mobile application where food and beverage orders are placed, as applicable, that includes the amount or percentage of the operations charge and the purpose of the operations charge.” Dining at Be Our Guest Basically, that means that every restaurant that adds an automatic gratuity or tip to a bill needs to let the customer know before they dine that this will be the case. The law even goes so far as to say that the font size of the notice should be equal to or greater than the font size used for menu item descriptions. If the restaurant doesn’t provide menus or any kind of written contract, the notice must appear on a menu board or a clearly legible sign by the register where the customer pays. Boma Granted, in Disney World, a gratuity or tip is not generally automatically added to a bill unless you have a group of six or more people, but a restaurant will need to make sure there’s a notice establishing that fact. However, both Cinderella’s Royal Table and Hoop Dee Doo Musical Revue pre-include a gratuity on the bill regardless of party size. Cinderella’s Royal Table This new law officially goes into effect on July 1st, so you’ll want to keep an eye out for those notices when you visit a restaurant in Disney World or anywhere else in Florida. 8. So many new lands are currently in progress in Disney World, with one of the biggest being Monstropolis in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. @bioreconstruct on X The land is taking over the former Muppets Courtyard, and we’ve been following along closely with construction since the beginning to see how it’s all been coming along. The new coaster coming to the land is to be Disney’s first-ever suspended coaster, and based on what we’ve seen so far, it’s going to be BIG, and that’s only being confirmed by these new photos we just got of its status. @bioreconstruct on X was just able to get some fantastic flyover photos of how the roller coaster is looking from above. From what we can see, it’s clear that the structure’s width/base floor appears to be mainly complete, as now Disney is working on building upwards. @bioreconstruct on X Multiple floors are now in the process of being built, and we can even see where track has begun to be placed on the service floor level! It also appears there is some track on the higher levels as well, which could be for the ride track in the first scene, according to @bioreconstruct. @bioreconstruct on X There’s still lots of work left to be done, of course, but we’re really thinking this land will hit its 2027 opening timeline, though we imagine it could be closer to the middle of the year rather than the beginning (but we can dream!). 11. This might be one of the biggest Disney movie summers we’ve seen in a long time! ©Disney Toy Story 5 just released to theatres on June 19th, the live-action Moana drops on July 10th, and then Spider-Man: Brand New Day releases on July 31st. We have a lot of theatre visits on the horizon, but what about chilling at home and watching new movies on our couch? Disney announced the official date that one of its new movies, which came out earlier this year, will be making its way to Disney+! Gird your loins, everyone, because The Devil Wears Prada 2 will officially be available to stream on Disney+ and Hulu starting July 29th. The sequel to the 2006 fashion classic was released in theatres 20 years late, on May 1st, and soon you’ll be able to watch it from the comfort of your own home. ©IMDb If you haven’t seen the sequel, it follows Andy Sachs (Anne Hathaway) as she returns as the iconic magazine’s features editor. Meanwhile, Emily Charlton (Emily Blunt) is now a high-powered executive at Dior. Of course, Miranda Priestly (Meryl Streep) is back, but she requires help to get Runway back on top. The Devil Wears Prada 2 poster The sequel has been very successful at the box office, grossing $677 million worldwide as of right now. The movie features all your favorite stars reprising their roles, including Hathaway, Streep and Blunt, Stanley Tucci, Tracie Thoms and Tibor Feldman. On top of that, there are a handful of new cast members, including Kenneth Branagh, Patrick Brammall, Simone Ashley, Lucy Liu, B.J. Novak, Justin Theroux and Pauline Chalamet. ©Disney The next movie we’ll be patiently waiting to drop on Disney+ is Toy Story 5, which did JUST come out in theatres, so we won’t see it for a long time. Especially considering its success at the box office so far, making $300m globally in its opening weekend. This is the largest opening the franchise has ever seen. ©Disney Despite not knowing when the newest Pixar movie can be enjoyed on Disney’s streaming platform, we feel like we have a hunch on an estimated timeframe based on what we’ve seen in the past. If you haven’t seen Toy Story 5 yet, we highly recommend going to the theatre to check it out. The movie follows Jessie, Buzz, Woody, and the rest of the gang as the iconic characters take on technology. ©Disney We’re looking forward to watching The Devil Wears Prada 2 on Disney+ at the end of next month. 12. We are still sweating through June, but Disney World is already asking us to make decisions about pumpkins, peppermint, and whether we are willing to pay hard-ticket-event prices while wearing a costume in Florida humidity. Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party! Yes, it is holiday planning season. No, your calendar is not broken. Disney World fans are already moving things around, rethinking dates, and doing the very glamorous vacation math that involves park tickets, hotel rooms, party tickets, snack budgets, and the quiet emotional cost of telling yourself, “Maybe we don’t need another Spirit Jersey.” The big reason? Disney’s holiday season is getting crowded, complicated, and expensive before the season has even properly begun. The Pumpkins Are Arriving Early Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is returning to Magic Kingdom in 2026, and this year it starts on August 7th. That is early! That is “your sunscreen is still fighting for its life” early. That is “I packed a vampire cape and three cooling towels” early. It’s Halloween in Disney World! The party runs on select nights through October 31st, which gives Disney fans a big window for Halloween fun. But that wide window does not mean every date is equal. Some dates are cheaper. Some dates are more popular. Some dates are more convenient for families. And one date, Halloween night, has already sold out. So, if you were waiting to plan your perfect October 31st Magic Kingdom Halloween night, that plan has already turned into a tiny ghost and floated away. Don’t Book Tickets for Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party in 2026 Before You Read This Halloween Night Is Already Gone October 31st is the obvious dream date for Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. You get the actual holiday, the actual party, the actual Main Street pumpkins, and the actual satisfaction of saying, “Yes, I spent Halloween in Magic Kingdom,” which is a sentence that sounds expensive before you even finish saying it. But that date is already sold out for 2026. This is why fans are changing plans now. Some are moving to earlier October dates. Some are looking at late September. Some are considering August because the tickets can be cheaper, even if the weather feels like the inside of a dishwasher. Disney math is rarely dignified. Boo To You! parade in 2025 And because party tickets are date-specific, there is not a lot of wiggle room once your preferred night sells out. You either adjust your trip, pick another party date, or skip the party entirely and use that money for something else. Possibly dinner. Possibly a hotel upgrade. Possibly 47 Mickey-shaped snacks. We do not judge. We merely observe with a Shakin’ Jamaican in hand. Why You Should AVOID Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party on This Random Friday The Party Prices Are Still a Lot Tickets for Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party range from $119 to $229 per person, plus tax, depending on the date. That means a family of four can be looking at hundreds of extra dollars for one night before adding flights, hotel, park tickets, meals, costumes, souvenirs, Lightning Lane, and the emergency poncho you swore you already packed. This is where the holiday trip budget starts to wobble. For years, a lot of fans treated holiday parties as a must-do. You booked the trip, you picked the party night, you watched the parade, you collected candy like you were preparing for a mild apocalypse, and you called it part of the Disney World holiday experience. 2025’s trick-or-treat bag! Now, more people are asking the uncomfortable but necessary question: Is the party the main reason we are going, or is it just one more expensive thing we added because we always do? That question is changing plans fast. Some Fans Are Trading Party Nights for Regular Park Days Here is the thing Disney does not always say loudly enough: You can still have a festive Disney World trip without buying a party ticket. Magic Kingdom usually gets decked out for Halloween during regular park hours. EPCOT’s Food and Wine Festival runs from August 27th through November 21st in 2026. Resorts get seasonal touches. Disney Springs gets festive. Snack menus start sprouting pumpkins and cinnamon like they were exposed to a very persuasive fall candle. This is Halloween! And once the Christmas season rolls in, EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays, which runs from November 27th to December 30th, 2026, is included with regular EPCOT admission. That means Holiday Kitchens, storytellers, the Cookie Stroll, and Candlelight Processional are all part of the regular park experience. Festival of the Holidays For Disney fans looking at the full cost of a holiday trip, that is important. A party ticket can be fun, but it is not the only way to feel like you are having a seasonal Disney vacation. This is especially true for repeat visitors. If you have done Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party multiple times, you may decide this is the year to skip it and spend that money elsewhere. Maybe you book a nicer dinner. Maybe you add a resort night. Maybe you finally stop pretending you are “just browsing” in World of Disney. 2 Weeks When the EPCOT Food and Wine Festival Could Be EMPTY Christmas Season Is Almost Here (Crazy, Right?) Disney has now released full details for both Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party and Disney Jollywood Nights in 2026, which means planners finally have real dates and prices to work with. Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party map Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party will run on select nights from November 7th through December 22nd, 2026. Ticket prices range from $169 to $229 per person, depending on the date, with the highest prices landing on the busiest December nights. Annual Passholders and Disney Vacation Club members can get limited discounts on select early dates. Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party is still the classic Magic Kingdom Christmas event. Think parade, fireworks, cookies, hot cocoa, festive ride overlays, and Main Street snow that makes everyone temporarily forget they are standing in Central Florida. Santa himself! Disney Jollywood Nights at Hollywood Studios will return on select evenings from November 9th through January 5th, 2027. Tickets range from $159 to $199 per person, again depending on the date, with peak pricing closer to Christmas week. Disney Jollywood Nights at Hollywood Studios continues to offer a different vibe, with vintage glam, entertainment, characters, and a slightly more relaxed party atmosphere. And yes, it still includes Kermit and Miss Piggy in Disney Holidays in Hollywood, which automatically improves its moral standing. More Muppets. Always more Muppets. Put Sam Eagle in a velvet holiday blazer and let the guy narrate the whole season. Jollywood Nights Now that the dates are out, fans are already adjusting plans again. Some people are shifting trips to line up with lower-priced early November party nights. Others are aiming for mid-December for peak holiday atmosphere, even if it costs more. And yes, some are still booking hotels first and figuring out party tickets later. The difference now is that planners are no longer guessing. They know the dates and the price ranges. And they can properly plan. NEWS: Disney World CONFIRMS the Return of Jollywood Nights at Hollywood Studios for 2026 Holiday Weeks Are Not Getting Easier Even outside the parties, the holidays at Disney World can be intense. Thanksgiving week, Christmas week, and New Year’s Eve are some of the most popular times to visit. The parks look gorgeous, the entertainment is festive, and everyone else had the exact same brilliant idea you did. Funny how that keeps happening. Crowds are a major reason some fans are shifting trips earlier. Instead of Christmas week, they may choose early December. Instead of Halloween weekend, they may choose September. Instead of Thanksgiving, they may aim for the first half of November before the full holiday stampede arrives. Magic Kingdom on Christmas Day This does not mean those earlier windows are empty. But timing can make a real difference. Early December can give you Christmas decorations without quite as much holiday-week pressure. September can give you Halloween offerings and EPCOT’s International Food and Wine Festival without late-October pricing. August can give you cheaper party nights, though it will also give you a very personal relationship with your deodorant. Choose wisely. How to Avoid Holiday Crowd Burnout in Disney World The New Strategy: Pick One Big Holiday Splurge This is where Disney fans are getting smarter. Instead of trying to do everything, more people are picking one big holiday splurge and building the trip around it. Maybe that splurge is Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. Maybe it is Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. Maybe it is Jollywood Nights. Maybe it is a Candlelight Processional Dining Package. Maybe it is a deluxe resort stay so you can walk into the Wilderness Lodge lobby at Christmas and temporarily ascend to a higher plane of pine-scented existence. That last one is not me being dramatic. Wilderness Lodge at Christmas is what happens when cozy wins a trophy. Wilderness Lodge But the point is this: You probably do not need to do every holiday add-on to have a great trip. Pick the thing you care about most. Book around that. Let the rest be a bonus. DFB Video: We Stayed at Every Disney World Resort Tier — Here’s What We’d Actually Pay For So Should You Change Your Holiday Plans? Maybe. If your dream was Halloween night at Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, you already need a new plan because that date is sold out. And now that Disney has released the 2026 Christmas party dates, you can finally start locking in those plans — but don’t wait too long. Popular nights for Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party and Jollywood Nights are expected to sell quickly, and those dates could shape where you stay and when you go. Grand Floridian Gingerbread House But if the price of the parties makes you wince, there is no shame in skipping them. Disney World during the holidays is still packed with atmosphere, decorations, snacks, and entertainment outside the hard-ticket events. You can still see pumpkins. You can still eat festival food. You can still wander through a resort lobby pretending you are a wealthy side character in a Christmas movie. The trick is knowing what you are paying for and what you are willing to skip. Disney Just Announced Everything Returning to Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party in 2026 Final Thoughts Before the Pumpkins Appear Disney World holiday planning has become less about picking a season and more about picking a strategy. The parties are popular, the best dates sell out, and the prices add up quickly. And now that Disney has released the 2026 Christmas party dates, fans are already spotting the busiest nights, circling the most convenient options, and adjusting plans before those prime dates disappear faster than a limited-edition popcorn bucket. Halloween at Magic Kingdom So yes, Disney World fans are changing their holiday plans. Some are shifting trips to line up with specific Christmas party nights. Some are skipping the most expensive dates. Some are still choosing earlier, cheaper, slightly sweatier Halloween nights. And some of us are simply standing in the middle of June, thinking about pumpkin wreaths, hot cocoa, and whether the budget has room for one more festive snack. We will keep watching for more Disney World holiday updates, party dates, ticket prices, sell-outs, and seasonal snacks. 14. We just got a ton of news about the 2026 holiday season in Disney World. We got details about Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, as well as Jollywood Nights. We also got some details about the EPCOT Festival of the Holidays, as well as the official dates of this year’s holiday season. The Grand Floridian Gingerbread House! However, the biggest news to come out of all the holiday announcements was Disney World confirming that the giant gingerbread house at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa has gone away forever. And let’s just say, DFB readers had some thoughts about that news. In 2025, we understood why the gingerbread house was missing from the Grand Floridian’s hotel lobby. The lobby was getting a massive refurbishment that included a brand new lobby bar, The Perch. However, this year, Disney World confirmed that the giant gingerbread house was permanently gone and would be replaced with smaller displays created by Disney chefs. 2021 gingerbread house Needless to say, many Disney World fans took the news hard. When we asked DFB readers about it on Facebook, many of you shared your honest thoughts with us. A lot of you think the new lobby bar is at least partially to blame. Tommy wrote, “No more gingerbread house because they wanted a stupid bar.” Yvonne agreed: “If you get rid of the BAR there would be plenty of room for the Gingerbread house.” The Perch Some just feel like it’s another example of Disney World removing more magic from the resort. Lena commented, “So sad. They’re taking away all of the annual traditions. Lights on the castle, lights outside and now this.” Marla wrote, “Another piece of magic taken away.” Others wrote about how they were “devastated” and “heartbroken.” We get that. We were certainly disappointed by the news, too. Joy said, “I don’t understand why. It’s been a loved tradition for decades.” The Grand Floridian gingerbread house will be missed Many of our readers are just sad. Jeri commented, “I’m very sad. That gingerbread house was magical. I wish I could have visited it one last time. “ Phil wrote, “Super sad. I actually looked forward to seeing it on the videos each year. I hope they still sell shingles though.” Michael had an idea, though: “If they wanted to they could turn that eyesore of that bar into a Gingerbread Bar and maybe have gingerbread beer.” A gingerbread bar? However, we were surprised that a lot of folks applauded the change, especially those who spend the holiday season staying at the Grand Floridian. Here’s the thing…the giant gingerbread house brought a lot of crowds, including many non-resort guests to the hotel. Timothy commented, “Kudos Disney. If you’ve ever stayed at GF during Christmas then you welcome this change. I think they are taking care of their guests. Better still if they put it on an upper level that only GF guests could visit.” Grand Floridian lobby Becky agreed, “I’m happy about it. The only reason I stopped staying at the GF at Christmas time is i got tired of navigating the insane crowds in the lobby” Adiel commented, “It’s been there since 1999. It had a good run. I’m sure GF guests will appreciate having a quieter lobby during the Christmas season.” Amber wrote, “Good! It’s way too chaotic with everyone piling in to see stuff. Paying guests aren’t paying for that mess. They want to keep it they can move it into a building inside Epcot or something but these things need to come out of the resorts unless it’s restricted to guests of that resort only.” The new lobby Some just like the fact that things are changing, rather than staying stagnant. David commented, “I think it’s great. Welcome to change and different stuff to look at another reason to go there. How many years are you going to look at the same gingerbread house every year? The same thing same exact thing they they glue the gingerbread to the house. They take it down. They put it outside. They let the bees eat it. They put it back in the building. They do it again. I think it was enough they did it for 20 years enough.” Nita wrote, “Nothing is permanent at Disney. Changes happen. New things are magically created. Grateful to have experienced them all, old and new.” New Grand Floridian lobby Disney World is always changing and has always meant to be changing, so we get that opinion, too. We’ll also be curious about the miniature displays the hotel will put out this year, so the tradition will still sort of continue, just on a smaller scale. 15. If you are planning your Disney World vacation and thinking of utilizing Lightning Lane, you’ll want to read this first! Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets Lightning Lane reservations can feel intimidating, especially if it’s your first Disney World vacation or if you haven’t visited in a while. Between multiple options, booking windows, and the pressure of being ready right at 7 AM, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed before you even set foot in the parks. But here’s the good news: you are already in the right place by reading this article. With a little preparation and a solid game plan, you can turn what seems like a complicated process into a simple part of your vacation planning. We’re breaking down everything you need to do ahead of time so you can feel confident, prepared, and ready to book your Disney World Lightning Lanes without the panic. Know Your Booking Date Your booking eligibility date is one of the most important pieces of information to know in advance. Disney Resort hotel guests can book Lightning Lane selections beginning at 7 AM Eastern Time seven days before their check-in date for their entire length of stay (up to 14 days). Everyone else can begin booking three days in advance on a rolling basis. Lightning Lane for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure Write this date down, put it on your calendar, and set multiple reminders if necessary. You don’t want to accidentally miss your booking window, especially if you’re hoping to secure reservations for highly sought-after attractions. Test Track Pick Your Park for Each Day Before your Lightning Lane booking window opens, one of the most important things you can do is decide which park you’re visiting each day of your trip. Lightning Lane reservations happen on a park-by-park basis, so trying to make those decisions at 6:59 AM on booking day will only add unnecessary stress. Sit down a few days beforehand and create a simple itinerary that outlines exactly where you’ll be each day, including any planned park hopping. EPCOT Having your park schedule finalized ahead of time allows you to focus entirely on securing the attractions you want instead of debating whether Tuesday should be EPCOT or Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Even if your plans aren’t set in stone yet, having a general framework will make the entire process much smoother and help you avoid feeling rushed when your booking window opens. Know Your Options One of the biggest reasons Lightning Lane reservations feel overwhelming is that there are multiple products to choose from. Before booking day arrives, make sure you understand the differences between Lightning Lane Multi Pass, Lightning Lane Single Pass, and Lightning Lane Premier Pass. Lightning Lane Multi-Pass allows you to pre-book select attractions and experiences in a park. Lightning Lane Single Pass is sold separately for Disney’s most popular rides that aren’t included with Multi Pass, like TRON: Lightcycle Run and Flight of Passage. Lightning Lane Premier Pass is Disney’s premium option that allows guests to enter Lightning Lane entrances without selecting return times throughout the day. Kilimanjaro Safaris Lightning Lane Each park also has its own attraction tiers, meaning some rides are considered higher priority than others. Disney uses a tiered system for ride selections. At Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, and Disney’s Hollywood Studios, from your 3 advance selections, you may choose one experience from a higher-tiered group and two experiences (or all three) from a lower-tiered group. (Tiers do not apply at Disney’s Animal Kingdom). The more familiar you are with what each pass includes, the less intimidating booking day will feel. You don’t want to spend precious minutes researching terminology while everyone else is securing reservations. 8 Ways to Predict SOLD OUT Lightning Lanes in Disney World Slinky Dog Dash Lightning Lane Download and Sign In to the My Disney Experience App This may sound obvious, but don’t wait until booking morning to download the My Disney Experience app or sign into your account. The last thing you want is to be fumbling with forgotten passwords, two-factor authentication codes, or software updates while reservation times are disappearing. A few days before your booking date, open the app, make sure it’s updated to the latest version, and verify that you can successfully log in. Double-check that your vacation reservation appears correctly. Taking care of these simple tasks early will eliminate a lot of unnecessary stress. ©Disney Be Sure You’re Connected to Your Party Members If you’re traveling with family or friends, everyone in your group needs to be properly linked before booking day arrives. Open your Family & Friends list in My Disney Experience and confirm that every person traveling with you is connected to your account. This step is incredibly important because if someone isn’t linked, you may not be able to book Lightning Lane selections for them. Discovering that issue at 7 AM on booking day can quickly turn a smooth process into a frustrating one. Spend a few minutes verifying everyone’s information ahead of time so you can make reservations for your entire group at once. ©Disney Do a Walk-Through Ahead of Time One of the best ways to reduce anxiety is to practice. Spend a few minutes exploring the My Disney Experience app before your booking window opens. You won’t be able to make reservations early, but you can familiarize yourself with where all the Lightning Lane options are located. Click around the app and learn where to access Lightning Lane Passes, where you’ll select your park, and where you’ll choose return times. The app will feel much less intimidating when you’ve already seen it before. Even a five-minute practice session can help eliminate that “Where do I click?” panic on booking morning. Animal Kingdom Research Before Booking Day You don’t have to become a Disney World expert overnight, but doing a little research ahead of time will make a huge difference. Spend some time watching Disney Food Blog YouTube videos that break down Lightning Lane strategies, explain the different pass options, and walk you through sample booking scenarios. Seeing someone actually navigate the system can make it feel much less complicated. You’ll learn which attractions typically book up first, which parks require more strategy, and which reservations aren’t worth stressing over. The more familiar everything feels beforehand, the more confident you’ll be when it’s your turn to book. Mad Tea Party Know Your Dining and Other Reservations Before you book your Lightning Lanes, review your entire vacation schedule. Disney’s system automatically creates time buffers around dining reservations and certain experiences, which means some return times may not be available if they overlap with existing plans. Have your dining reservations, tours, and any other scheduled activities written down beforehand so you can plan around them. Disney will not allow you to book a Lightning Lane during that time, so if you have a character breakfast reservation at Crystal Palace, don’t be confused about why you aren’t getting that 9 AM Lightning Lane for Space Mountain that you wanted. Big Thunder Mountain Set an Alarm for 7 AM Perhaps the easiest tip of all: don’t oversleep. Lightning Lane reservations open at 7 AM Eastern Time, and some of the most popular attractions can disappear quickly, especially during busy travel seasons. Set multiple alarms if you need to, and plan to be awake at least 15 to 20 minutes beforehand. Give yourself enough time to grab a cup of coffee, connect to reliable Wi-Fi, and open the app before booking begins. There’s nothing worse than waking up at 7:12 AM and realizing your top priorities are already gone. Being prepared and ready to go before the clock strikes 7 AM can make all the difference. Entrance crowds at Hollywood Studios Be Ready to Pivot It can happen to everyone — something goes wrong during your booking process. Either the attraction you really wanted is all full, or the app is having issues. Take a breath and be ready to pivot. Have backup options for attractions in mind, grab the first available time, and you can modify to your ideal time later, and if the app is not working, just give it a second. These things can and will happen, so don’t be overwhelmed when they do. Hollywood Studios The good news? Lightning Lane reservations aren’t nearly as overwhelming as they first appear. Being prepared for Lightning Lane can really go a long way when it’s time to book your attractions, and we hope these tips help you! For more Disney news and tips, be sure to keep following DFB. 16. Since the Magic Kingdom opened over 50 years ago, Disney World’s first theme park has become one of the most iconic tourist destinations in the world. However, along with that has always come crowds! Adventureland rope drop crowds. As anyone who has visited the “Most Magical Place on Earth” pretty much any time since 1971 can attest, the park is pretty much always crowded, which can sometimes make the park tough to navigate. That’s only been exacerbated by the two massive construction projects happening in the Frontierland area: the Cars-themed Piston Peak located on the former site of the Rivers of America and Tom Sawyer Island, as well as prep-work for Villains Land in the area beyond Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. Given that the Piston Peak and Villains Land construction zone dominates much of the Western part of Frontierland, an already crowded portion of the park on any given day, this can create a massive bottleneck at the point near Pirates of the Caribbean transitions into Frontierland, heading towards Tiana’s Bayou Adventure and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. Caribbean Plaza area However, there is a way guests in Adventureland can sidestep these bottlenecks. Instead of going the long way through Adventureland and entering Frontierland near Pirates, they can instead use the breezeways that connect Adventureland to Frontierland to reach the desired attractions in the latter land. Frontierland For example, to reach the Country Bear Musical Jamboree without dealing with the Pirates/Tiana’s crowds, you can slide through the breezeway near The Magic Carpets of Aladdin and sidestep those crowds. ©Disney Quick tip if you’re doing this: Don’t let the Aloha Isle lines fool you. While there will be crowds around the snack stand — the Pineapple Upside-Down Cake is undefeated for many — you’ll still be able to slide past them to quickly make your way into Frontierland. Aloha Isle Once you know where you’re going, you’ll need to know where to eat, like say Liberty Tree Tavern. Our Guide to Disney World Dining pulls it all together so you can stop stressing and focus on the fun without feeling like you’re missing a thing! The Patriot’s Platter If you find yourself in a crowded Adventureland on your next Magic Kingdom trip, know that you can cut your way into Frontierland without dealing with the back-of-the-land bottleneck. 17. Disney World just dropped a ton of big holiday announcements. We got dates and more details about this year’s Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas in Magic Kingdom, as well as dates and details about Jollywood Nights in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. We even got some specifics about this year’s EPCOT Festival of the Holidays. Cinderella Castle Dream Lights 2018 There were SO many announcements, but at the same time, one was missing, and has been missing for a while. So we’re going to have to talk about it: Is Cinderella Castle Dream Lights gone forever? Cinderella Castle Dream Lights were first introduced in 2007 and became part of the holiday celebration in Magic Kingdom. The display would light up Cinderella Castle with thousands of sparkling lights, giving it the illusion of being covered in snow and icicles. However, the last time the Dream Lights illuminated the castle was in 2019. Of course, 2020 then happened, but even in 2021, Disney did not bring the Dream Lights back, possibly due to the 50th Anniversary Celebration version of the castle. Cinderella Castle decked out in 50th decor However, Disney did introduce Frozen Holiday Surprise during Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, which creates a similar effect on the castle, but with projections instead of real lights. So the effect isn’t quite the same. In fact, the ONLY way we’ve been able to see “Disney Dream Lights” was through a gingerbread display at Disney’s Contemporary Resort in 2024. Contemporary Resort Gingerbread Display in 2024 Well, we’ve now started getting details about the 2026 holiday season, and the absence of Cinderella Castle Dream Lights was apparent. At this point, it seems like the Dream Lights are gone forever, and we guess we sort of get it. It’s a hassle to install all those lights on the castle every year, but still, they were part of what made holiday evenings in Magic Kingdom so unforgettable. It seems like so many of these little magical touches seem to be going away (and yes, we’re still not happy that the gingerbread house at Disney’s Grand Floridian has officially gone away, too). The Grand Floridian Gingerbread House! So once more, we’ll be enjoying a holiday season in Disney World without Cinderella Castle Dream Lights, but we can still hope and dream for next year, right? Maybe we’ll just wish upon a star for that dream to come true… Stay tuned to DFB for more Disney news. 18. When it comes to dining at Disney World, you’ve got a TON of options. Want something quick and easy? You’ve got it. Something middle-of-the-road and comforting? Yep, that too. And if you’re looking for something upscale and luxurious, you can find that as well. Ride Like the Wind Bullseye NEW Toy Story 5-inspired treats have landed at Disney World, so of course, we had to try them — and now we’re bringing you our FULL review. Are they worth a stop on your next trip to the Most Magical Place on Earth? Find out here! We grabbed the Sheriff Jessie Punch, which you can find at ABC Commissary, Backlot Express, Market, and Rosie’s All-American Café at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. You can get this for $6.79. It’s made with white cranberry juice, DOLE pineapple juice, Minute Maid orange juice, lime juice, and grenadine, topped with sweet cream cold foam and dehydrated star fruit. Sheriff Jessie Punch This is a fruit juice drink with prominent pineapple and white cranberry flavors. The pineapple juice is probably the strongest flavor and gives the most sweetness. The white cranberry juice adds a light tartness and balances the sweeter fruity notes, while the orange and lime juices add a subtle citrus taste that doesn’t overpower the drink. It has grenadine, which seems to be there for the light pink appearance rather than for the flavor, because it’s hard to find. This is topped with a sweet cream, which is actually canned sweet cold foam. It gradually blends into the drink and doesn’t last long in the heat, but it doesn’t make a mess. It adds a slightly milky taste that softens the other fruit flavors and cuts back the sweetness. The whole drink feels very balanced and doesn’t need anything else to it. No single ingredient takes over, and it’s easy to drink. It’s a refreshing, fruity drink that’s also creamy and smooth, and we think adults and kids would like it. Sheriff Jessie Punch We also tried the Star Command Popcorn, which you can find at Market and Popcorn & Snacks at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, too. This is available for $9.49. This is a prepackaged kettle corn with green apple and grape flavors. Star Command Popcorn The popcorn has a crisp crunch throughout and held up well in the Florida heat (but note that it did slightly stain our fingers when eating)! Each piece had a sweet coating that added to the flavor and texture. The purple grape pieces had a mild artificial grape flavor that reminded us of sweet candy. The green apple pieces leaned more sweet than sour, with some tartness showing up in the aftertaste. The general sweet kettle corn flavor is more powerful than the fruity flavors, though. The combination of the grape and green apple gave a light fruity sweetness with hints of tartness. The traditional kettle corn flavor stayed pretty prominent in each bite, and this would make a convenient grab-and-go snack for any popcorn fan! Star Command Popcorn For dessert, we picked up the Ride Like the Wind Bullseye for $7.29 from World Premiere Food Court at Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort. This is a peanut butter layered cake with many different textures and topped with decorative white chocolate pieces and edible paper designs. Ride Like the Wind Bullseye This cake is topped with a smooth and soft vanilla glaze icing that softens in the heat. The white chocolate decorations melt in your mouth and add a sweet, creamy taste. The yellow hard shell (or as they call it, a magic shell) has a firm and hard texture that takes some effort to cut into, but it does melt outside in the heat quickly. The bottom layer gives the main crunch with small granola-like pieces that have a slight nutty flavor. There is a peanut butter cremeux center that is the star of this! It’s like a soft mousse but with a strong salty, sweet, and nutty flavor. The surrounding milk chocolate mousse is light, airy, and creamy, but quickly gets overshadowed by the center. The combination of the crunchy base, creamy peanut butter mousse center, chocolate mousse, and white chocolate shell gives this a variety of textures in each bite. We would definitely get this again, and we think peanut butter lovers would REALLY like this! Ride Like the Wind Bullseye In the meantime, we’ll be on the lookout for more restaurant updates from Disney World and beyond. 21. A MAJOR change is coming to an iconic Magic Kingdom attraction, and with it, the way many Magic Kingdom guests spend their afternoons. The Carousel! In 2025, Disney announced that Walt Disney’s Carousel of Progress — the legendary animatronic stage show that has been operating in one form or another since its debut at the 1964 New York World’s Fair — would be getting a massive update. Initially, all that was confirmed was that the show would include a Walt Disney animatronic in the introduction, similar to the one seen on Disneyland’s Main Street. However, this spring Disney revealed that their plans were much grander than a simple pre-show. In May of 2026, Disney released more details on the refurbishment. According to the company, to keep the Carousel of Progress “relatable for today’s audiences,” the entire show is being reworked. Throughout its history, the show had followed a family through the technological advancements of the early 1900s through the mid-1900s, ending in a vision of the near future (which since 1994 had been set at the “turn of the millennium.”) What will the future bring? However, after its new renovation, the show will feature an entirely new structure featuring acts based on the 1960s (itself harkening back to the decade the show originally debuted), the 1980s, the 1999-turn of the millennium, and a “possible future” that will imagine a time where “extraordinary innovation has become part of life and proves that a beautiful tomorrow is just a dream away.” The attraction will close on July 6th for its transformation, with an estimated reopening in 2027. ©Disney While reactions to this change have ranged from negative (mourning the loss of most of the Walt-designed original concept) to positive (modern audiences have their own time periods to look back on and deserve their own “Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow” to look forward to), the actual alterations to the show aren’t the only thing changing. For decades now, the Carousel of Progress has been a midday escape from the Florida heat for many Disney guests. The show’s theaters were often relatively empty, and its slow pace (I say that as a major fan) made it a go-to spot for those who wanted a 20+ minute rest, or even a nap for some. However, with the show being closed for an indefinite amount of time — and likely seeing large crowds when it reopens, at least initially — the days of Carousel of Progress as a quiet, air-conditioned afternoon respite seem to be ending for the foreseeable future in July. ©Disney So, where are the guests who want a cool break at the height of a Magic Kingdom afternoon going now? Well, there are a few options. The Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor show is nearby in Tomorrowland and offers a similar break, though the more interactive show may not be the best place to nap. Laugh Floor The Hall of Presidents in Liberty Square… Hall of Presidents …and Mickey’s Philharmagic in Fantasyland both offer air-conditioned, dark theater experiences that can allow guests to cool down — and maybe even catch a few z’s — if they so choose. Mickey’s PhilharMagic Disney is making major changes to the Carousel of Progress beginning this July, and they’re going to change the way many guests appreciate their Magic Kingdom afternoons. 23. The Queen of Nashville is going to give a popular gas station a run for its money! Dolly Parton has just opened Dolly’s Tennessean Travel Stop, and we think it’s going to give Bucc-ee’s some stiff competition. ©Dolly’s Tennessean Travel Stop For decades, the Tennessean Travel Stop has been a place where the road gets a little easier. A trusted stop for truckers logging long miles, families making memories, and neighbors looking for somewhere good to land, and now that Dolly has lent her heart and vision to the gas station, we have a feeling it’s going to be pretty popular! Dolly’s Tennessean Travel Stop is a new gas station and truck stop located in Cornersville, Tennessee, just outside of Nashville, and it’s giving Buc-ee’s some stiff competition! The newly opened spot is home to — yes, gas — but also two restaurants, a coffee shop, a store, and will feature live entertainment and other experiences from time to time! ©Dolly’s Tennessean Travel Stop The travel stop also features EV charging stations, the Doggy Parton Dog Park, a live music space, Dolly-inspired photo ops, and more. It’s located off Exit 22 of Interstate 65 in Cornersville, about an hour south of Nashville, Tennessee, and an hour north of Huntsville, Alabama. ©Dolly’s Tennessean Travel Stop The full-service restaurant is southern-style (of course!), and the menu includes southern favorites like fried green tomatoes, chicken and dumplin’s, a Nashville hot fried chicken sandwich, and even breakfast options that are served all day. DLY BBQ, the barbecue spot, features slow-smoked meats and all the fixings, served up with a side of Southern charm. From pulled pork to smoked brisket, it’s BBQ the way Dolly likes it. ©Dolly’s Tennessean Travel Stop At Cup of Ambition, the coffee shop, you can find classic coffee drinks like lattes and cappuccinos, but there is also hand-dipped ice cream, soft serve, and hand-spun milkshakes. Depending on where you’re coming from, it would probably make a great stop on your way to Dollywood, just outside of Gatlinburg, Tennessee! 24. Hop in and take a fast-paced, spinning trip into the world of toys, complete with beloved Toy Story friends like Woody, Jessie, Buzz Lightyear, and more. With Toy Story 5 now in theaters, dedicated Pixar fans like me are excited to discover new ways to celebrate with Toy Story-inspired fun across Disney Parks, including the latest Toy Story merch on DisneyStore.com and tips to score big on Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin. Still, the always-classic Toy Story Midway Mania! at Disney California Adventure park and Toy Story Mania! at Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Tokyo DisneySea continues to invite guests to step inside a swiveling carnival car and take aim in a fast-paced, midway-inspired competition, allowing passionate fans to push for high scores and discover new secrets (and Easter eggs) along the way. Want to gain an edge against your friends and family before your next visit to the parks? Reach for the sky and get ready to take your best shot at the leaderboard with these tips and tricks for each of the games found on board this exhilarating attraction. Toy Story Mania! High Score Tips and Tricks: Queue and Practice Round Hamm & Eggs Rex & Trixie’s Dino Darts Green Army Men Shoot Camp Buzz Lightyear’s Flying Tossers Woody’s Rootin’ Tootin’ Shootin’ Gallery and Bonus Round Tally Up Your High Score Queue and Practice Round As you make your way through the queue at each of the three attraction locations, you’ll discover Andy’s latest toy: the Toy Story Midway Games Play Set. Filled with die-cut cardboard pieces of game booths, game pieces, food carts, and everything else needed to stage a full carnival midway, Sheriff Woody has decided to take charge and make sure that different toys inside Andy’s room have a chance to host each game. Now, honorary toys like you have been invited into Andy’s bedroom to play these games too, where you’ll depart inside Toy Story Carnival Tram vehicles that were included in the playset, influenced by the Victorian look of a 1900s midway. Once you’ve been greeted by an Audio-Animatronics figure of Mr. Potato Head, secured your 3-D glasses, and hopped on board a ride vehicle that features a decal of a different Toy Story character, you’ll be ready to head into the practice round with your spring-action shooter device in hand. High Score Tips: Rex can be a very key ally during your ride. This friendly, green T-Rex loves to solve games and puzzles, so listen closely and he’ll give you hints during each game. In the practice round, you’ll be greeted by Woody, Jessie, Buzz Lightyear, and Rex, holding practice targets like shields as you launch pies at their targets. During this brief round, the characters will move their hand-held target/shield and try to avoid taking a pie to the face; in certain scenarios, these targets may even end up decorated like a Picasso after you’ve launched a flurry of pies to familiarize yourself with your designated projectile color. Since there is not any scoring in this section, some players prefer to save their energy (and arm strength), while others prefer to get an initial feel for the attraction’s gameplay to start off – there is no right or wrong answer. Hamm & Eggs Kicking off the gameplay circuit, this barnyard-themed booth invites you to grab a supply of hard-boiled eggs and aim for a lively collection of targets as Hamm and Buttercup lead the charge for the first game on your ride. At this booth, you’ll knock down as many barnyard targets as possible (some are stationary, while others seem to be moving along conveyor belts), with some clearly in front of you and others hiding behind facades. Keep an eye out for surprise pop-up targets as well, which can reveal higher-scoring opportunities when hit. High Score Tips: Listen for Buttercup’s cue to aim for the fox in the henhouse door. Hitting this target triggers a rush of high-value chickens to spill out from the henhouse, giving you a prime opportunity to rack up points. Keep returning to this target whenever possible to maximize your score. Rex & Trixie’s Dino Darts Hosted by Rex and Trixie, this prehistoric midway game lets you launch darts at colorful balloons alongside a cast of toy dinosaurs, along with other targets like dino eggs, lava bubbles, and palm leaves. Here, darts frequently bounce off nearby balloons, creating satisfying chain reactions that can quickly boost your score. Staying focused on clustered targets can help you take full advantage of these ricochet opportunities, especially while working toward several hidden scenarios that can be uncovered over the course of the game. As your rapid countdown to extinction begins, one key sequence begins at the base of the volcano. Aim to pop all three vertical balloons positioned along the front each time they appear, as doing so triggers a full eruption that sends a flurry of 500-point balloons into the air and opens a wave of scoring chances for you and your game partner. High Score Tips: After the eruption, look to the skies where two meteors will soar into sight on both corners of the screen. Relying on collaborative timing and coordination, work with your ride partner to hit these targets repeatedly, which can set off a full-blown meteor shower filled with bonus balloons and lead to one of the highest scoring boosts in the game. Green Army Men Shoot Camp Permission to break plates? Granted. Once Sarge (the gung-ho commander of the Green Army Men) gives the all clear to “break those plates,” act like a shortstop and use your spring-action shooter to “throw” baseballs at moving plates located at a toy training ground. High Score Tips: In addition to the airborne targets, look for the gold, 1,000-point plates positioned near each side of the booth. Hitting these not only adds to your overall score, but triggers a toy cannon animation toward the screen! Plates are constantly marching and moving (many are being pulled across the game booth by remote-control helicopters, tanks, and airplanes), but one way to make sure you get a high score during this game is by hitting the two, 2,000-point plates being thrown into the air on both sides of the mountain. If you and your game partner both break each dish on the same toss, a tank may also appear, yielding high-scoring plates that help take your game to the next level. Buzz Lightyear’s Flying Tossers As a longtime Buzz Lightyear fan, this outer space-themed midway booth has long been a personal favorite of mine. Between its galactic targets and high-value opportunities, it’s also one of the best chances to boost your overall score. Here, you’ll use your spring-action shooter to toss rings at a variety of targets, including the iconic Aliens floating aboard flying saucers and rocket ships. In a high-scoring setting featuring “The Claw” and several galactic elements reminiscent of Buzz and Woody’s adventures inside Pizza Planet in the original film, this game is one of the best chances you’ll have to take your score to even greater heights during your next rendezvous with Star Command. High Score Tips: Keep an eye just beyond the rocket ship in the center, and you’ll spot Aliens on flying saucers worth 5,000 points each. Be sure to prioritize these high-scoring targets to boost your score. Even though you’ll certainly be competing against confident siblings, ambitious friends, and competitive parents, one of the biggest scoring opportunities relies on teamwork. At the start of the round, work together with your ride partner to quickly land rings on all the Aliens positioned on the rocket ship in the center of the screen, and if successful, you’ll unlock a secret “level” where a giant robot suddenly appears on the screen. Aim for the robot’s mouth to score big, but don’t give up – the point level keeps increasing each time this robot opens their mouth. Woody’s Rootin’ Tootin’ Shootin’ Gallery and Bonus Round This high-flying attraction wouldn’t be complete without Woody at the helm. In this final western-themed booth, you’ll enter a setting inspired by the set from the Woody’s Roundup TV show featured in Toy Story 2. Here, you’ll aim suction-cup tipped darts at a variety of targets, including cacti, fences, and trees. Each successful hit not only adds to your overall score, but also triggers animated gags when hit, where targets spin, collapse, and reveal additional opportunities. Plus, if you and the other person inside the tram work together to hit all of the targets in the gallery (plus the ones that are eventually revealed) at least one time before the vehicle starts to move, all targets will pop open at once. High Score Tips: If you are starting to run low on stamina, you may want to switch up which arm you’re aiming and shooting with during the bonus round – you will likely get tired! As your vehicle advances, the game transitions into a hectic finale led by Jessie, inviting you into a gold mine-themed bonus round. Mine carts race across the screen with increasing point values and offer prime scoring opportunities, but keep an eye out for bats at the top of the screen as another sneaky way to boost your score. After the mine carts clear, a large bonus target will appear on the screen, with point values climbing rapidly with each hit. Furiously hitting this target gives you a final chance to boost your high score, so keep firing as many times as possible as the “mother lode of gold” rises into view. Tally Up Your High Score on Each Ride Once you’ve completed each game, your journey concludes at a final stop in front of a “prize booth,” hosted by familiar faces from across the films, including Woody with Dolly and Mr. Pricklepants, Rex and Trixie, Jessie with Buttercup, and the Aliens alongside Spanish-mode Buzz Lightyear. Here, your total score is tallied, giving you a chance to see how you performed across each round and discover which virtual plush prizes you’ve earned along the way. Toy Story Mania! Plush Prizes: 0: Turtle 1: Armadillo 20,000: Gopher 40,000: Bird 60,000: Bunny 100,000: Beaver 150,000: Cat 220,000: Elk 300,000: Bear As your vehicle prepares to head back to the loading station, a “GameBrain” hand-held video game device displays the top scores of the hour, day, and month, along with the coveted “Best in Vehicle” honor, a small but likely-memorable victory worth celebrating during your Disney vacation (I know it always is for me). If you’re traveling to Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Disney California Adventure park, or Tokyo DisneySea, Toy Story Mania! remains one of the most re-rideable attractions across the parks. With no height requirement, appearances from some of Pixar’s most beloved characters, and a cool, indoor setting that’s perfect to beat the heat, it’s a go-to attraction for competitive, Toy Story-loving families at any time of the day. If it’s your first round ever or your fiftieth matchup against family members, there is always room to improve your score, whether you’re chasing your personal record or one-upping your ride partner. You’ve got a play date with destiny, so step right up, grab your spring-action shooter, and take your best shot at a new high score. 25. If you’re planning a Disneyland vacation in 2027, get ready for some significant changes. Mike in Disney California Adventure The Disneyland Resort has seen quite a bit of change in 2026, with the 70th Anniversary Celebration wrapping up and notable progress on new attractions being built at Disney California Adventure. Next year will feature even more change — which means our tried-and-true Disneyland traditions will have to change in 2027. It’s safe to say that your typical Disneyland traditions may need to be altered in 2027. Here are three things that the resort is doing away with in the new year! Old-School Pin Trading Disneyland changed its pin-trading policies in 2026, and those changes will carry over into 2027. Crowds pin trading Now, you can only trade official Disney pins, and they need to be in good condition with the pin backing attached. Pin trading board Another rule is that you can ONLY trade a maximum of two pins per Cast Member or trading board per day. This is also a one-for-one trading system, so you can only trade one pin at a time (this means if you’re trading with a Cast Member or board and your pin is worth more, you won’t be able to get two in exchange). And you’ll need to ask a Cast Member or guest before grabbing their pins. Pin trading board You can trade pins anywhere using a lanyard or small handheld pin-trading accessories, “but no additional decorations or collateral (e.g., lights, signage, displays, etc.) are permitted.” So those big pin binders you’re used to seeing? It looks like they’re being phased out. Showing off our pins Now, designated pin-trading meetups inside the parks are a thing of the past — at least in their previous capacity. Pins are not allowed to be displayed on benches, chairs, or tables. You’ll need to trade with other guests in a more discreet, free-flowing manner. New rules It’s a good idea to get familiar with the rules online at Disneyland’s website before engaging in pin trading at Disneyland in 2027. New to Pin Trading? Here’s Everything You Actually Need to Know! Enjoying the Monsters, Inc. Ride Over in Disney California Adventure, Monsters, Inc. Mike & Sulley to the Rescue! will be shutting its doors for good in 2027. Mike and Sulley to the Rescue! This adorable family dark ride has survived a few demolition rumors over the years and even staved off a once-scheduled permanent closure in 2026, but Disney has confirmed that the ride will close its doors (all millions of them) in 2027. Monsters, Inc. Mike & Sulley to the Rescue! The ride is being removed along with most of the Hollywood Backlot to make way for a new Avatar land in California Adventure. This new land will feature a thrilling boat ride. ©Disney While we’re excited for this new Avatar expansion, we’re definitely going to miss joining Mike, Sulley, and Boo on their adventure in Monstropolis! All the NEW Rides and Attractions at Disneyland and Disney California Adventure in 2026 and Beyond Smelling the Autopia Gas Some traditions are better left in the past — and this one wasn’t exactly healthy. Autopia in Disneyland Back in 2024, Disney paid the California Air Resources Board a $56,250 settlement to resolve Autopia car engine violations, and the fallout for guests will be experienced massively in 2027. By February 2027, Autopia HAS to switch to using electric vehicles. Autopia Car This project has been in the works for a couple of years now, and Disneyland officials have created a new vehicle prototype. The previous cars featured Honda engines without certified emission controls, and they were promptly corrected without any environmental impact. Autopia ticket Ultimately, the ride will need to close — either to install these changes or simply because Disney didn’t meet the deadline — or the vehicles might be placed on the ride without any sort of closure. Either way, we’ll keep you posted when that information is announced. Disneyland’s Autopia Walt’s original theme park resort is ever-changing, so we won’t be surprised if more traditions are canceled or created in the near future.
