  2. We are always seeking out the best tips and tricks for your Disney World vacation! From testing park essentials to trying new services and hacks, we want to ensure you have the best vacation possible. Disney’s Animal Kingdom We are all for Disney World hacks that help make your vacation better, but there are a few hacks for Disney’s Animal Kingdom that are getting out of control. Let’s look at them so you don’t fall victim to them! The first hack is rope dropping. Now, we talk a lot about rope dropping here at DFB, as it can be a great way to knock out some top-priority attractions right off the bat. However, rope drop at Animal Kingdom can be stressful and chaotic, especially if you are heading towards Pandora. Flight of Passage Line Most people head towards Flight of Passage or Na’vi River Jouney, and it can feel overwhelming with the crowds. You can always take this time to check out other attractions with super low waits (it is hard to beat an early morning safari!), explore the park, or sleep in a bit! Flight of Passage Entrance While rope drop can be a great time to knock out some attractions, you don’t want to start your day off on the wrong foot if you might get overwhelmed by the experience. You don’t NEED to rope drop the park to be able to enjoy your day! Pandora The next hack is making Animal Kingdom a half-day park. It can be helpful if you have a short trip and are trying to see as much as possible. But if you have the time for it, we think Animal Kingdom deserves more time. Animal Kingdom usually closes the earliest of all the parks, and many people plan for it to only be a half-day park. Disney’s Animal Kingdom However, we think you will get the most out of this park if you spend the whole day here. You can also take advantage of lower crowds in the afternoon/evening since many people park-hop to another park. However, double check the hours for the attractions as some may close earlier than the park; for example, Kilimanjaro Safaris closes at sunset! You can even use your leftover time in the evening once the park closes for a relaxing meal at a hotel or spend some time by the pool! Then you will be rested and ready for your next day at the Disney World parks. An evening in Animal Kingdom The final hack that has gotten out of control is entering through the Rainforest Cafe. Some people claim that this will save you time when entering the park, but most of the time, there are only a few scanners open to get in. You would likely save more time entering the park through the main entrance. When we were there recently, only one scanner was open, so it may not be the hack that people claim it to be. Rainforest Cafe in Animal Kingdom While you are at Animal Kingdom, make sure to explore some of the more under-the-radar aspects of the park. Don’t miss out on the walking trails and various animal habitats. You can also head over to Rafiki’s Planet Watch for an animation class and petting zoo. And definitely don’t forget to appreciate the beauty of the park and slow down a bit. Rafiki’s Planet Watch At the end of the day, make sure you are planning the Disney World vacation that works best for you! If that involves rope dropping and leaving in the afternoon, go for it. But your day could also include having a leisurely morning and spending all day at Animal Kingdom. Choose what sounds best for your family! 3. It’s official! HBO has found its Dumbledore for the new Harry Potter television series. ©Getty Images In a new interview with ScreenRant, John Lithgow confirmed he will be playing the role of Hogwarts headmaster, following in the footsteps of Richard Harris and Michael Gambon. About his new role, Lithgow said, “Well, it came as a total surprise to me. I just got the phone call up at the Sundance Film Festival, and it was not an easy decision because it’s going to define me for the last chapter of my life, I’m afraid. But I’m very excited.” ©iMDB He continued, saying, “Some wonderful people are turning their attention back to ‘Harry Potter.’ That’s why it’s been such a hard decision. I’ll be about 87 years old at the wrap party, but I’ve said yes.” So far, this is the only confirmed casting for the series. According to Variety, Paapa Essiedu is reportedly a top contender to play Severus Snape, while Harry, Hermione, and Ron will likely be played by newcomers. Universal’s Islands of Adventure HBO describes this new Harry Potter series as a “faithful adaptation” that will “feature a new cast to lead a new generation of fandom, full of the fantastic details and much-loved characteristics ‘Harry Potter’ fans have loved for over twenty-five years.” Potter fans are in for an exciting time with this new series and the new Wizarding World of Harry Potter — Ministry of Magic coming to Epic Universe at Universal Orlando! Universal Orlando The Ministry of Magic will add a new chapter to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Orlando that blends the 1920s wizarding world of Paris from the Fantastic Beasts movies with the first Ministry of Magic from the original Harry Potter series. It’s here that wizards and “non-magiques alike” will be “enamored with the majestic grandeur and enchanting ambiance of the city as they cast dazzling spells throughout the magical streets using interactive wands, encounter fantastic beasts at a traveling circus, and – for the first time ever within The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – travel across countries and time to 1990s London using the Métro-Floo for a thrilling adventure set inside the iconic British Ministry of Magic.” ©Universal — Ministry of Magic The new land will feature a brand-new ride, several new entertainment options, four restaurants, and more! 5. Meeting Disney characters is one of the most magical experiences in the parks – until someone ruins it. Hi Mickey and Minnie! We get it. You’re excited to meet your favorite character, and you want to make the most of your time with them. But there are some unspoken rules that every Disney adult NEEDS to follow to make sure the experience is great for everyone involved – yourself, the cast members, and the little kids waiting behind you. Whether it’s knowing what NOT to do or how to make your interaction even better, here are the top rules you need to follow when meeting Disney characters. Respect Personal Boundaries Let’s start with the basics: keep your hands to yourself. While giving Mickey a hug or taking Cinderella’s hand for a twirl is totally fine, anything that crosses into inappropriate territory is not. Hi Ariel and Prince Eric! These are real people in those costumes, and making them uncomfortable – whether through too much touching, suggestive comments, or trying to be “funny” at their expense – is never okay. If you wouldn’t do it to a stranger on the street, please don’t do it to a character. Don’t Try to Break the Magic We know you know there’s a Cast Member inside the costume, but that doesn’t mean you need to point it out. Asking characters things like “Aren’t you hot in there?” or “What do you really look like?” takes away the magic not just for you, but for everyone around you – especially the kids who still believe. Belle and the Beast Keep the interaction in the world of Disney. For example, if you’re meeting Belle, ask her about the Beast or what book she’s reading. Just watch and see how she lights up. That’s where the real fun happens! Don’t Treat Character Interactions as a Stunt for Social Media Trying to catch a character off guard for a viral video? Yeah, let’s not do that. These Cast Members are professionals doing their job, and setting them up to “fail” or react in a way that could get them in trouble is unfair. Jafar How about instead of looking for a way to go viral at their expense, you focus on creating a genuinely fun and magical interaction that you’ll remember forever. Keep Your Cool When It Comes to the Line The lines for character meet-and-greets can be long, and it can be frustrating if a Cast Member mistakenly lets a family go ahead of you or if an excited child cuts in front. Snow White and Prince Florian Take a deep breath and remember: Disney is for everyone. If a kid runs ahead, let it go. If a Cast Member accidentally overlooks you, politely remind them. Losing your temper isn’t a good look in the most magical place on Earth. Don’t Monopolize the Character’s Time We know. We know. It’s tempting to have a full conversation with Tiana about her gumbo recipe or ask Buzz Lightyear about his latest space mission. But keep in mind, there are plenty of other people waiting for their turn. Tiana Keep your interactions fun, but brief, so that everyone has a chance to enjoy the experience. And if you have multiple souvenirs to get signed, try to limit it to just one or two. Watch Your Language (And Conversations in Line) You might be an adult, but Disney is still a family-friendly environment. That means keeping your language clean and avoiding inappropriate conversations – especially while waiting in line. You never know who you might see! Kids have sharp ears, and they WILL repeat what they hear. Keep things light and fun, and save any grown-up topics for when you’re outside the park. Be Mindful of Your Photos and Poses Getting creative with your character photos is part of the fun, but be mindful of how certain angles or poses might look. Holding the camera too low, making suggestive hand gestures, or trying to pose in a way that could be misinterpreted isn’t the best move. Cruella de Vil looking fabulous Stick to fun, wholesome poses, and if you’re unsure, let a PhotoPass photographer help guide you. Hi Captain Hook! At the end of the day, meeting Disney characters should be a fun and respectful experience for everyone involved. Follow these unspoken rules, and you’ll not only have an amazing time – you’ll help keep the magic alive for others, too! In the meantime, stay tuned to DFB for all the latest from Disney. 3 New Rules Disney Is Enforcing in 2025 Join the DFB Newsletter to get all the breaking news right in your inbox! 8. Disney seems to be following a new restaurant trend, and we are huge fans of it! ©Disney 2025 is a big year for Disney World; although many attractions and lands are closing, two new lounges are set to open this year! One in EPCOT and one in the Magic Kingdom. While we are always excited to check out a new place to dine at Disney World, we are incredibly excited about these lounges because they are themed after popular attractions! We love it when Disney incorporates details from attractions around the parks or on merchandise. Soon, you will be able to dine in the world of Pirates of the Caribbean and Spaceship Earth—two fan-favorite Disney World attractions. EPCOT Pirates of the Caribbean Lounge It was announced in 2023 that a new lounge inspired by the attraction Pirates of the Caribbean would be part of the Magic Kingdom. As time went on, we got more details about this lounge and new pieces of concept art. ©Disney While we don’t know the exact location of the lounge, we know it will be in Adventureland, and we have a feeling it could replace Tortuga Tavern. It is hard to believe how fast 2025 is flying by, and you will be able to dine like a pirate before you know it when it opens in late 2025! We’re Begging Disney World To Bring These Menu Items to the NEW Pirate Tavern Spaceship Earth Lounge EPCOT will soon be home to a lounge themed after its park icon, Spaceship Earth. This announcement was made at D23: The Ultimate Fan Event back in August 2024. The lounge will be inspired by Spaceship Earth’s “stories, shapes, and enduring legacy.” It will be decorated with rich textures and warm metallic tones for a “mysterious and elegant intimacy.” ©Disney The lounge is set to open in EPCOT with a view of the World Celebration in the late Spring of 2025, which is right around the corner! “If They Don’t Have Rome Burning I Will Cry.” Disney Fans Have 6 Demands for EPCOT’s New Spaceship Earth Lounge Not only will Disney World soon have ride-themed lounges, but Disney Cruise Line’s newest ship has debuted with hints of the theme parks! Disney Treasure Skipper Society Lounge Aboard the Disney Treasure, you will find the Skipper Society Lounge, which is themed after the World Famous Jungle Cruise! This lounge plays homage to the skippers, and there are so many fun details. Skipper Society The menu has a handful of cocktails, including the HippopotoMai-Tai, which you can find at Trader Sam’s Grogg Grotto. They also serve different wines, beers, and specialty coffee drinks. They even have snacks, like waffles! Come With Us INSIDE the Disney Treasure Cruise Ship! Haunted Mansion Parlor If you are ever aboard the Disney Treasure, you do not want to miss out on the Haunted Mansion Parlor! This lounge is dark and cozy, and there are so many hidden details. Haunted Mansion Parlor If you are looking for a souvenir to take home with you, the parlor has a few different Haunted Mansion-themed tiki mugs, such as the Sea Captain and a haunting siren. There is even a hidden menu, and if you solve the riddle on the tablet, you’ll be able to see a hidden cocktail! We’re Spilling the SECRETS of Disney’s NEW Haunted Mansion Lounge Periscope Pub While 20,000 Leages Under the Sea may no longer be at Disney World, you can find a nod to the attraction and film aboard the Disney Treasure! The Periscope Pub is inspired by a submarine with “19th-century steampunk influences.” Periscope Pub The menu features light bites and craft brews. This lounge is super immersive, with windows on the ceiling that make you feel like you’re in a submarine! Learn More About the Adults Only Spaces Aboard the Disney Treasure We love that Disney is creating lounges based on some of our favorite attractions. 11. The EPCOT International Flower and Garden Festival is right around the corner! It’s almost time! The festival will run from March 5th until June 2nd, and there is so much to see and do. EPCOT has already started transforming for the festival, as topiaries, flowers, and the Butterfly Garden have already started to pop up! Plus, this festival will be full of exclusive merchandise, entertainment, and, of course, our favorite part: food! This year’s festival menus just dropped, and if you ever wondered what it takes to curate 180 menu items for the festival kitchens spread throughout the park, we have the answer! We had the opportunity to chat with Chelsea Florig, Food & Beverage Project Manager, Amanda Lauder, Chef de Cuisine Pastry, and Daniel Sicilia, Executive Chef. All three of these Cast Members play a vital role in creating the menus that you will get to try when the festival returns this year! Flower and Garden Festival 2023 EPCOT is home to four different festivals throughout the year. The new year starts with Festival of the Arts, followed by Flower and Garden, Food and Wine, and ending with Festival of the Holidays. That is four festivals that chefs must juggle throughout the year. Chef Daniel shared that since Flower and Garden is a bit longer (compared to Festival of the Arts and Holidays), they have a lot more to plan for when it comes to the guest experience. He shared that they start coming up with menu ideas a year out. Flower and Garden 2024 Chef Amanda told us that they use a whiteboard where they kind of just throw ideas up there to see what sticks. Tons of ideas get suggested, but unfortunately, not all of them end up debuting on a menu. The good news is that they tend to let menu items sit and simmer on the whiteboard, so even if a dish does not make it on the menu for the current festival, there is a good chance it could make its debut at a festival years later. Bauernmarkt Full Spread 2024 So why not include all their ideas in the festival? Well, each booth tells a cohesive story. According to Chef Amanda, they first start with the theming on the kiosk and then make their way down to see what fits. She said it is kind of like throwing spaghetti at the wall and that Chelsea helps keep them on task. Honey-glazed Cauliflower from 2024 Many of us just see the outdoor kitchens pop up, but they are placed strategically based on their surroundings. They pay attention to the theming in an area. For example, The Honey Bee-Stro booth has a whole themed area around it to really immerse you in the festival. Welcome to The Honey Bee-stro 2023 Two new booths are making their debut this year near the walkway between the World Showcase and Imagination! Pavilion. These booths are the Yacht and Beach Grub. Sound familiar? That is because they are paying homage to two EPCOT area resorts: the Yacht and Beach Club! Their location is important, as if you were to follow that walkway towards the Canada Pavillion, you would end up at Inernational Gateway, where you can find both resorts! ©Disney || Yacht Grub While the location of the booths is important, is is also essential to curate a menu that is cohesive with the theming, as well as flavors that go together. Chef Amanda said that she is always walking around with a fork or spoon while they are testing menu items; she is always tasting. Chelsea said that they look at their portfolio to see what dishes complement each other to help tell the story of the whole booth. While they like adding new menu items, they are well aware that certain items are untouchable because guests love them so much. They also want to make sure guests are able to try new flavors. Chef Daniel shared that the Liquid Nitro Honey-Mascarpone Cheesecake is a guest favorite that he does not see going away anytime soon They emphasized that they listen to guests and care about what we think. Chef Daniel shared that they start listening to guest feedback on the very first day of the festival and continue to note people’s thoughts and opinions throughout. Social media plays a vital role in listening to feedback, and Chelsea let us know that they have teams that go through the data of what people are saying online. It just goes to show that your opinion matters, and Disney does care about curating a festival that has dishes that they know guests will love. 12. Disney World is home to plenty of different hotels for plenty of different tastes. You want to stay in a bungalow over the water? Check. Want to pretend you’re on an African safari? You can do that too. Heck, you can even go camping at Disney World. Welcome to Fort Wilderness Why not get in touch with Florida’s natural beauty while you’re on your Disney vacation at Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground? You can rent a cabin, bring an RV, and go tent camping — and there are a TON of recreational activities available here. But, one of those activities was suddenly closed when we stopped by recently — and you won’t believe why. We were hoping to rent some kayaks and canoes to explore the Florida waters at Fort Wilderness, but as of February 26th, these activities were CLOSED! We spoke with nearby Cast Members to see what was up, and they advised us that the rentals were closed due to some “friends” in the water. Kayaks and canoes “Friends” is a loose term, and in this case, it’s Disney-speak for “there are alligators close to the kayak and canoe launches, so it’s unsafe for guests at this time.” YIKES! Fort Wilderness Doing this activity has always been at your own risk, and Disney even gives you a little laminated warning card advising you to beware of alligators and snakes when renting kayaks and canoes here. In some cases, though, when alligators have actually been spotted close to guests, Disney will close the activity down altogether if they deem things ultimately unsafe. Do not feed the wildlife The Cast Members shared that these activities will remain closed typically until the gators move and guests’ safety can be ensured, or they’ll call local authorities who can safely relocate the alligators to another area — away from hotel guests. They advised that in this case, they would likely need to get someone to come remove the gators, which means the kayaking and canoeing could remain closed for a couple of days. Plenty of fun This is something to keep in mind if you’re planning a visit to Fort Wilderness. Make sure you listen to Cast Member instructions and keep an eye out for any potential creepy crawlies. And, don’t forget that there’s plenty to explore at Fort Wilderness! You can check out Tri Circle D Ranch, the Archery Experience, Segway tours, and a whole lot more. 13. There’s a lot to think about when planning your trip to Disney World. But we bet, out of all of the possible things swimming in your head, there’s one you haven’t thought of: parking. Parking lot We know it’s not the most magical thought when it comes to visiting Disney World, but it can be an important one. And so, to help you out with this, we’ve created a map of the most CHAOTIC places to park in Disney World so you can avoid or prepare. We created this map to show you exactly where you’ll encounter the chaos. Think of this as some kind of treasure map, but instead of heading toward the gold, it leads you to a less stressful situation—or at least prepares you from being caught off guard. Disney Springs and Magic Kingdom/TTC Magic Kingdom If you think parking at Magic Kingdom means pulling up right outside Cinderella Castle, think again. Magic Kingdom’s parking lot is actually located at the Transportation and Ticket Center (TTC), which means you’ll need to take additional transportation just to get to the park. And because it’s so grand, it can get very chaotic very quickly. Magic Kingdom Parking Entrance During peak hours, you could also find yourself parking at the very end of the parking lot, which means a longer time to travel through tram to the actual Transportation and Ticket Center. Unfortunately, there is no way to avoid this parking lot if you are headed to Magic Kingdom, however, we do have some advice. Magic Kingdom Arrive early in the morning right before the park officially closes or later during the day to avoid massive lines to get a better parking spot. And, if you’re staying at a Disney World resort hotel, you can take Disney transportation that takes you directly to Magic Kingdom, avoiding the TTC altogether! So, that alone, could be a deciding factor if you’re contemplating staying at a Disney hotel. This Oddly Specific Map Shows Our Favorite Bathrooms in Magic Kingdom Orange Garage at Disney Springs Disney Springs is a shopping, dining, and entertainment hotspot, which means it gets VERY busy. So, it should be no surprise to anyone that it has made it on our map. Starting with Orange Garage. Orange Parking Garage Orange Garage is typically the most popular parking garage since it leads to key attractions at Disney Springs. And a full parking garage is absolute CHAOS. That’s why we suggest parking at Lime Garage which has easier access to the Marketplace and less traffic even during peak hours. The Surface Parking is also a great choice on a weekday. Surface Parking Parking at Disney Springs Is About To Be More Chaotic Surface Parking Disney Springs …But not so much on a weekend. This parking lot sees a lot of chaos on busy days since most guests think it will save them time bypassing the garages. Unfortunately, that won’t be the case. These lots fill up quickly, and, thanks to the lack of shade, it could be a scorching hot nightmare to navigate. In this case, Lime Garage will be your best bet. Don’t be late! We know it can be a little overwhelming planning your trip to Disney World with all these big and little details to keep in mind, but we’re here to help you through it all in every way we can. 16. Disney World Cast Members are speaking out to highlight a “critical issue.” In a new statement, one Cast Member said they are tired of feeling like “second-class Cast Members,” and employees at Disney Springs restaurants and the Italy Pavilion in EPCOT have started wearing union buttons onstage. According to the Unite Here Local 737 union, this marks the first time union solidarity is visible to Disney World visitors during an employee’s shift. Disney World Disney employees are speaking out. On February 18th, The Local 737 union shared a post on Facebook, calling for members to “hit the streets and demand respect.” Now, a new press release shares additional details on the union’s demands. According to a new statement from the union, “Unite Here Local 737 is calling on Patina and Delaware North to provide fair wages, benefits, and protections in the upcoming contract at EPCOT Italy Pavilion, and to agree to a fair process for workers to unionize at Disney Springs.” Disney Springs The Local 737 union consists of workers in Disney World Food & Beverage and Housekeeping, Patina Restaurant Group, and more. For example, Cast Members at Tutto Italia and Via Napoli (restaurants owned by Patina Restaurant Group) in EPCOT are part of the union. These members work for subcontracted restaurants operated by the Patina branch of Delaware North — not The Walt Disney Company — which “does not provide the same wages, benefits, and protections as Disney employees.” Via Napoli in EPCOT’s Italy pavilion This news comes ahead of a round of contract negotiations for Cast Members at the Italy Pavilion, where employees are hoping to “bring them up to Disney standards.” Further, some Disney Springs employees do not have a union. Per the Local 737 union statement, some of these non-unioned Cast Members “lack access to essential benefits like affordable health insurance, paid vacation, and paid sick days.” Credit: Local 737 Union In response to a growing feeling of frustration, several Patina Group Cast Members have started wearing union buttons to symbolize how they are being treated as “second-class citizens” compared to other Disney Cast Members. Although these union buttons are not part of the “Disney Look” (meaning it’s not an approved part of a Cast Member’s costume), Cast Members at Tutto Italia Ristorante, Maria and Enzo’s, Enzo’s Hideaway, Pizza Ponte, Morimoto Asia, and The Edison have not faced any retaliation from leadership. Tutto Italia Contract negotiations are set for later this year. We will continue to look for updates, so stay tuned for more. Join the DFB Newsletter to get all the breaking news right in your inbox! 17. There’s a BIG celebration coming to Disney World, and you don’t even need a park ticket to visit! Disney Springs is hosting a special event at Raglan Road, and we’re expecting great food, talented performers, and a LOT of green outfits. Raglan Road The 2025 St. Patrick’s festival is happening at Raglan Road from March 14th to March 17 — that’s a whole weekend of celebrations! So, what exactly happens during the St. Patrick’s festival? For starters, you can listen to some award-winning Irish Bands (seriously — they are SO talented!), and the Raglan Road Irish Dancers will bring their signature moves to the festival, too. ©Raglan Road Raglan Road will serve “authentic contemporary Irish cuisine” and offer cocktails and other St. Patrick’s Day drinks. As we said, reservations are encouraged for those who plan to celebrate at Raglan Road. Seafood Sharing Board at Raglan Road If you visit Disney Springs on St. Patrick’s Day, March 17th, Raglan Road will open at 10 AM with a $20 cover charge for guests 18 and older. 18. We know that Disney World vacations aren’t cheap! When you are visiting the most magical place on Earth, you don’t want to waste your money on sub-par food. Disney’s Animal Kingdom Even if you decide to splurge on a meal, not all Disney World restaurants are created equal. We want to make sure you are getting the most out of your vacation, so we are sharing the most expensive restaurant in Disney’s Animal Kingdom that you should skip (and where you should go instead). Disney’s Animal Kingdom is home to some pretty delicious food! However, there is one restaurant that we think you should most likely skip: Rainforest Cafe. You will be paying a pretty hefty price for mediocre food. Sure, the atmosphere makes you feel like you are eating inside of a rainforest, but we just don’t think the atmosphere makes up for the subpar food. Rainforest Cafe in Disney’s Animal Kingdom This could be a great option if your kids are really excited about it, or you want a highly themed restaurant experience. But, not only can you find Rainforest Cafes at other places, but you can also find MUCH better food at Animal Kingdom. For what you will be paying for a meal at Rainforest Cafe, we really recommend checking out other options. Rainforest Cafe If you are looking for a delicious splurge meal, Tiffins Restaurant might just be the place for you. We will warn you that Tiffins has a high price point for their food, but we have always been impressed with the quality of ingredients and the wonderful service, and we have loved almost everything we have tried here. Tiffins The restaurant is highly themed, and we recommend setting aside a decent chunk of time to enjoy your dining experience. The walls are covered with beautiful artwork, much of which inspired the creation of Animal Kingdom. Plus, the food is unique and delicious. There’s so much to explore! From its famous Tiffins Signature Bread Service to the Tamarind-Braised Short Rib and Chocolate Ganache, there is a lot to explore at this restaurant. While the restaurant does offer a walk-up list when they have availability, we recommend making a reservation in advance! A meal at Tiffins If you are looking for some of the same food served at Tiffins but without needing a reservation, you can head right next door to Nomad Lounge. You can find a variety of the same dishes served at Tiffins in a lounge atmosphere with a beautiful view of the water. Nomad Lounge Eats Or, if you want a restaurant with a slightly lower price point that still serves up wonderful food, we recommend trying Yak & Yeti. Yak & Yeti is an Asian fusion restaurant that combines Chinese, Japanese, Thai, and Indian flavors. We are also huge fans of this restaurant and dishes such as its Firecracker Shrimp, Chicken Tikki Masala, Bhaktapur Duck, Yak Attack, and Fried Wontons. Yak & Yeti Eats If you are looking for something quicker or more affordable, there are also some wonderful options at Animal Kingdom. Our two favorites are Satu’li Canteen and Flame Tree BBQ. These are both quick-service restaurants that offer a quick meal for a lower price point. You really can’t go wrong with any of these suggestions, though! Satu’li Canteen Our mouths are definitely watering from talking about all this yummy food at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Don’t mind us; we are just going to make a quick stop by Nomad Lounge. 19. Get ready to feel some Sweet Emotion, Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster fans. The iconic coaster is changing in a BIG way. Say goodbye to Aerosmith; Kermit, Miss Piggy, and the gang will be moving right along to Sunset Boulevard to take over the roller coaster! So, what’s with all the changes? Well, Disney announced that a new Monsters, Inc. themed land is coming to Hollywood Studios, and it’s taking the place of the Muppets Courtyard on Grand Avenue. This has led to some serious theme park rearranging, including changes at Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster. ©Disney So far, Disney has been pretty quiet about the changes planned for Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster, but a new permit indicates the first official changes are on the way. Disney just filed a permit to repaint the guitar at Disney’s Hollywood Studios! We don’t know many details about what the guitar will look like yet, but according to a new document, the contractor will sand the guitar and apply one coat of primer and two coats of HP finish. Does this mean the signature red color could be changing? It’s hard to say! This could just be a quick refresh to touch up the existing color. Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster The permit states that Harrison Contracting CO Inc. will work on the project. Closer look at the guitar As a reminder, The Muppets will be the star of the show on Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster and will be teaming up with some of “music’s biggest stars for a rockin’ music festival.” ©Disney Looking at the concept art for the new attraction, it looks like the super-stretch limo could get a new paint job in the future, too. Here’s a look at the current limo at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. It’s blue! This will be the first Disney ride (Muppet*Vision 3D is technically a show) to feature The Muppets, and Disney teased “laughter, screams and new tunes for this attraction for fans to enjoy throughout the adventure.” Additionally, Disney confirmed that there will be plenty of Muppets-themed merchandise on Sunset Boulevard. We’re expecting the Rock Around the Shop gift shop to get a makeover, too. This could change! Although this new permit is promising, Disney still hasn’t announced when construction will begin on the Monsters, Inc. land or the Muppets coaster. In the meantime, we’re always on the lookout for the latest Disney news, so stay tuned for more. Will There Actually Be TWO COASTERS in Disney World’s Villains Land? 20. This year is a HUGE year for Marvel. In addition to the recent release of Captain America: Brave New World, we’ve still got MORE Marvel movies to look forward to in theaters this year. ©Marvel That includes Thunderbolts* and The Fantastic Four: First Steps. But if you subscribe to Disney+, you’ve got some Marvel TV to look forward to, as well, including Daredevil: Born Again, Ironheart, Eyes of Wakands, Marvel: Zombies, and Wonder Man. However, let’s get back to Captain America: Brave New World, which released in February 2025. If you’re holding out for the film to come on Disney+ (or you’re just wanting to see it again at home), we’re going to tell you when that might happen. The general rule of thumb for Marvel movies is that they usually come to Disney+ about three months after they release. If we do the math, with Captain America: Brave New World releasing in February, it’s likely the movie will hit the streaming subscription service in May. For example, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 released in theaters in May 2023 and arrived on Disney+ in August. Guardians of The Galaxy Vol. 3 Poster in Disney World However, Deadpool and Wolverine released in theaters in July 2024 and didn’t make it to Disney+ until in November, about four months from its original theatrical release. So if we’re looking at that, it could be June before Captain America: Brave New World makes it to the streamer. Deadpool & Wolverine poster Although Captain America: Brave New World opened to strong box office numbers, those numbers decreased drastically in its second week at the box office, according to Variety. The film saw a 68 percent drop in its second weekend, suggesting it might make it to streaming sooner, rather than later. So our best guess is that we’ll see the film make it to streaming in May. ©Marvel Of course, we won’t know for certain until Disney announces the movie’s debut on streaming. We’ll probably get an announcement about its release on video on demand services first, so we’ll be keeping an eye out for that. Stay tuned to DFB for more. 21. Disney has finally announced that an entirely new land will be arriving in the unused land behind Big Thunder Mountain Railroad in Magic Kingdom, and we can’t wait. Magic Kingdom However, some Disney fans are feeling a little apprehensive about this new addition because it’s questionable if a Villains Land truly fits in Magic Kingdom, the park that’s arguably most friendly for kids and families. However, some kids love Disney Villains, but how much will this land really be friendly towards younger kids? Here’s what we know so far. The truth is that right now, Disney hasn’t released too much about this new land. We’ve gotten one set of concept art which was released at Disney’s D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event back in August 2024, and we know that Disney’s started construction on the new land already, but that’s about it. The new Villains Land coming to Magic Kingdom will feature fan-favorite Disney Villains from popular Walt Disney Animation Studios films and two new attractions. However, we can tell a lot from that concept art! Disney has created this land to look quite dark in the concept art, which leads many people to believe that this will be far from kid-friendly. It’s important to remember though that this land takes place in Magic Kingdom, which is arguably the most family-friendly/kid-centered park of all four. ©Disney With that being said, it would be likely an unwise decision for Disney to switch gears entirely and have a section of a family-friendly park be unfriendly for people of all ages. While many people do lots of research before their Disney World trip, there are also those who travel in completely blind and plan little to nothing. The last thing Disney would want is for unsuspecting families to wander into an area that scars their children. ©Disney Looking closely at the concept art, it seems there’s an intense roller coaster attraction in the land, and it’s unknown yet what ages this attraction will be appropriate for. While we do know there will be two attractions in the area, it’s possible that while the land itself is kid-friendly (although kids who don’t do well with spooky things, for example if they don’t do well with Haunted Mansion, it may not be a good fit), the rides may be geared more toward older kids and adults. ©Disney However, since we’re still so early in the process, don’t let this concept art influence you too much! We’ve seen concept art change time and time again for multiple different Disney World attractions, so much so that sometimes the final product doesn’t look anything like the original art. It’s still entirely possible that this land will change shape as it begins to take form, but if you’re thinking of planning a trip soon and can only travel once every few years, there is an important decision to be made here. If you’ve got members of your family who will have no interest in the new land, then there’s little reason to hold off the trip until it’s done, but if you know you/your group will love it, then it may be a better choice to wait a few extra years. Whether or not Villains Land is meant for you and your family ultimately comes down to what your personal preferences are! You know your kid(s) and what they can handle better than anyone, so it’ll be important to gauge how your child will feel — what’s great for one child may be too much for another! 25. The Disney Dining Plan has been back at Disney World for a little over a year now. The Disney Dining Plan is back! Adding the dining plan to your vacation can make your trip to Disney World even easier as you pre-pay for your food ahead of time. There are a few different dining plan options that you can choose from depending on what works best for you and your party. If you are looking to enjoy a table service meal during your vacation, you will want to spring for the Disney Dining Plan over the Disney Quick-Service Dining Plan. If you are looking to get the most bang for your buck, these seven Table Service restaurants are a must while on the Disney Dining Plan. What Is the Disney Dining Plan? Depending on the credit and plan type, these credits can be redeemed for snacks, quick service, or table service meals. Think of it as a way to make your vacation feel more inclusive! As we mentioned before, dining plans can be pre-purchased and added to a Disney Vacation Package. Garden Grill skillet What’s Included With a Table-Service Meal To have table service meals included with your dining plan, you must select the Disney Dining Plan over the Disney Quick Service Dining Plan. If you are only looking to use one for a meal, here is where you should consider dining. Magic Kingdom Crystal Palace Character meals can be pricey, and if you are looking to have an all-you-care-to-enjoy meal with some of Pooh’s friends from the Hundred Acre Woods, you should consider using one of your credits on a meal at the Crystal Palace in Magic Kingdom. This buffet-style restaurant is open for all three meal periods, and there are characters at each meal, unlike other character dining experiences where characters typically are only there for breakfast. Crystal Palace It is $52 for adults and $33 for children to dine during breakfast. For lunch and dinner, it is $62 for adults and $42 for children. For only one dining credit, you can enjoy a meal with characters, and there is no limit to how many times you can visit the buffet! Characters inside Crystal Palace REVIEW: I Got TWO Character Meals for the Price of ONE in Magic Kingdom EPCOT La Hacienda de San Angel EPCOT’s Mexico Pavilion is home to several restaurants, including La Hacienda de San Angel. While this may not be inside the Mexico Pavilion pyramid, it offers a stunning view of the World Showcase Lagoon. La Hacienda de San Angel Entrées can range from $30 to $55, and while not every single entree is included with the Disney Dining Plan, it is still a solid restaurant choice if you are looking to get the most out of a table service credit. Plus, the added views of Luminous at nighttime are a plus! Luminous at EPCOT Even Without Fireworks, This EPCOT Restaurant Is Worth Your Time Animal Kingdom Tusker House Restaurant There are not many table service restaurants to choose from in Animal Kingdom; if you are looking for another character meal option, Tusker Restaurant in Animal Kingdom is a solid choice. Here, you can meet Mickey and the gang in their safari gear! Tusker House In addition to being a character dining location, it is also a buffet! Breakfast costs $49 for adults and $33 for children. Lunch and dinner cost $64 for adults and $42 for children. We like that for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, there are some fun items that are not your average Disney dishes throughout the buffet. Meet Mickey at Tusker House Hollywood Studios Roundup Rodeo BBQ One of Hollywood Studios’ newest additions is Roundup Rodeo BBQ, located in Andy’s Backyard at Toy Story Land. This restaurant is heavily themed and really makes you feel like a toy! Roundup Rodeo BBQ The food here is served family-style, with biscuits, salads, different meats, sides, and desserts. You get a lot of food, and you can ask your server to bring you more as needed. Lunch and dinner are $49 for adults and $27 for children. We promise you won’t leave this meal hungry because you get so much food! Roundup Rodeo BBQ The Best Part of Roundup Rodeo BBQ Is NOT The Barbecue Disney Springs Your dining plan can be used outside of the parks at both the hotels and Disney Springs! Disney Springs Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin’ We cannot recommend Homecomin’ enough, especially for brunch. This restaurant serves Southern-style dishes and is so popular that it is often hard to snag a reservation. Art’s Famous Fried Chicken To get the most out of your credit during lunch and dinner, we recommend ordering Art’s Famous Fried Chicken, which comes with buttermilk-brined chicken, creamy mashed potatoes, and a cheddar drop biscuit, all for $34. As we said, this restaurant is a must for many people, so make sure to make your Advance Dining Reservations! Homecomin’ The Homecomin’ Hack That Will Make You Feel Like You’re Doing Something Illegal in Disney World Hotels Disney World’s hotels have some amazing table service dining locations, and even if you are not a guest at the resort, it can be super fun to check out the theming of another hotel! Disney’s Riviera Resort Breakfast à la Art with Mickey & Friends In the morning, the Riviera’s rooftop restaurant, Topolino’s Terrace, hosts a character breakfast! This prix fixe meal costs $52 per adult and $33 per child. Minnie at Topolino’s Terrace Breakfast To start your meal, you will be served bread and fresh pastries, along with your choice of one entrée. Character meals tend to be some of the pricier meal options at Disney World, and for only one dining plan credit, Breakfast à la Art with Mickey & Friends is a great deal! So cute!! Disney World Character Meals by Price Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort ‘Ohana ‘Ohana is one of Disney World’s most popular restaurants, and although we have been worried about it in the past, it is still a great restaurant to use a dining plan credit on. Breakfast at ‘Ohana For breakfast, Ohana is a character meal where you can meet Stitch and his friends. It costs $53 for adults and $33 for children. While dinner may not have characters, there is live music. Dinner costs $65 for adults and $42 for children.
