Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party is a seasonal Magic Kingdom event that requires a separate ticket for entry, and it’s coming BACK this year! Welcome to Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party! This yearly event typically features special shows like Mickey’s Most Merriest Celebration, Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade, Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks, Club Tinsel, and Disney Junior Jingle Jam. But, if you’re planning a visit to the party this year, you’re going to want to know about this ticket price increase! Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party tickets have received a price increase for 2025! Depending on the date you choose, you’ll now have to pay more if you want to experience this special event this year. Magic Kingdom During Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party! In 2024, adult ticket prices ranged from $169 to $219, and in 2025, they will cost anywhere from $169 to $229 per ticket, plus tax. So the cheaper dates are staying the same; however, those popular dates (typically when we get closer to Christmas Day) will hit that new high of $229. Disney has not released a full breakdown of ticket prices for each date yet, but we expect to see that when tickets go on sale for hotel guests on July 16th and to the general public on July 22nd. Disney World loves to change things up on us (I think to keep us on our toes!) and sometimes we don’t love the changes. Waffle with Chocolate-Hazelnut Spread, Bananas, Berries, and Whipped Cream Until recently, Sleepy Hollow Refreshments had changed their waffles, which were a fan favorite, and this sent some waves through Disney fans. The waffles were changed to Mickey waffles for a while, which did not hit with us, but now the old round waffles are back! So you never know what menu changes might hit Disney World, but we got 6 new ones that we aren’t over yet. 1. Ham Tart Over at Gaston’s Tavern, one of our favorite snacks since 2024 was the Ham and Gruyere Tart. This is made with crispy croissant dough topped with ham and gruyere, served with chips. We had zero complaints about this snack, so we were sad to see it gone from the menu. Ham and Gruyere Tart Well, the Ham and Gruyere Tart has been replaced with a Ham and Gruyere Sandwich. However, the ingredients remain the same. It’s Crispy Croissant Dough filled with Ham and Gruyère, served with Chips. So, basically, this snack just changed its form. Read Our Full Review of the New Sandwich Here Ham and Gruyere Sandwich 2. Pepperoni Roll The Pepperoni Pizza Roll from Sunshine Seasons was a DFB favorite. Its premise is pretty straightforward with pepperoni, cheese, and garlic herbs stuffed into the inside of a giant bread roll — kind of like a grown-up version of a hot pocket, what’s not to love? We recently had to say goodbye because it is gone from the menu. Pepperoni Roll In its place, you’ll now find the Pepperoni Flatbread for $12.29. This take on pepperoni pizza comes precut into slices, and is served with your choice of a bag of chips or a side salad. We tried it for research, of course, and it’s not the same cheesy, pepperoni-filled pizza roll we’ve come to know and love from this restaurant. You Can Read Our Full Review of the Flatbread Here Pepperoni Flatbread 3. THREE New Mac and Cheeses Disney’s Animal Kingdom might be one of our favorite places to grab snacks. Over at The Smiling Crocodile, there were three new macaroni and cheese dishes we tried. There are currently three options available: Baked Macaroni & Cheese, Baked Macaroni & Cheese with Buffalo Chicken, and Baked Macaroni & Cheese with Garlic Smoked Sausage. Baked Macaroni & Cheese with Buffalo Chicken While these macaroni and cheese snacks aren’t as baked as we would like, they were tasty. The Baked Macaroni & Cheese with Buffalo Chicken comes with a generous portion of chicken, and the ranch was creamy. The Baked Macaroni & Cheese with Garlic Smoked Sausage had pickles, which were one of our favorite parts. These are hearty and cheesy and a good savory snack. Burnt End Fries Yes, it’s true — the Loaded Burnt Ends Fries have been removed from the menu at Regal Eagle Smokehouse in EPCOT. On a recent stop by Regal Eagle, a Cast Member confirmed that they were gone, but that it was possible they could come back in the future. It’s kind of a good reason, so let us explain. The restaurant has narrowed down the amount of brisket they need to make each day to serve, and with that, there are less burnt ends for this dish. While sustainability is good, we are really missing these fries. 5. S’mores Brownie Speaking of Regal Eagle, it was home to our beloved S’mores Brownie. This brownie had a graham cracker crust and chocolate brownie base, topped with chocolate frosting and toasted marshmallow whip. It was delicious and chocolatey, and we had dreams about this dessert. Sadly, it left the menu! S’mores Brownie at Regal Eagle Luckily, there is another S’mores dessert to take its place. The S’mores Bar is made with a rich fudge brownie, dark chocolate, toasted meringue, and smoked graham cracker. It still gives that gooey, chocolatey, and perfectly indulgent. S’Mores Bar 6. Return of Key Lime Pie Once upon a time, a snack called the Key Lime Pie on a Stick appeared at Neighborhood Bakery in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. This snack has returned as the Key Lime Pie Pop for $6.29 at Flame Tree Barbecue in Disney’s Animal Kingdom! The Key Lime Pie Pop is a Key Lime Pie wedge dipped in Dark Chocolate with Graham Cracker Crumble on a stick. The key lime pie custard filling is beautifully tart with the not-too-sweet chocolate. Mark Woodbury, chairman and CEO of Universal Destinations & Experiences, will be the speaker at IAAPA Expo’s leadership breakfast in November. Among Woodbury’s recent achievements is the opening of Epic Universe, the first theme park to debut in the Orlando area in more than 25 years. He has worked for the company for more than 30 years, becoming CEO in 2021. His purview extends to Universal attractions worldwide, including parks in California, Japan and Beijing. Universal Destinations & Experiences also is developing Universal Horror Unleashed, a year-round horror attraction that’s set to open in August; Universal Kids, a small-scale theme park for families with young children that’s going up near Dallas; and a Universal park in England. “It’s just a transformational moment for us,” Woodbury said in an interview on CNBC on the day before Epic opened to the public in May. “It’s an exciting process, a fascinating journey, from a blank piece of paper when you start imagining what you could create,” he said. The breakfast is billed as a networking and educational opportunity at the Expo, held annually at Orange County Convention Center. The event, which attracts all factions of the amusement business and is famed for its sprawling trade floor, is produced by Orlando-based International Associated of Amusement Parks and Attractions. A limited-capacity event at Epic Universe, exclusively for IAAPA members, also will be among the activities during Expo week, which begins Nov. 17. The Woodbury breakfast is scheduled for 8:30 a.m., Nov. 19. Expo registration and a separate ticket are required. Pricing is $159 for members, 269 for non-members. It’s undeniable that EPCOT’s World Showcase is packed with some of the best food at Disney World. EPCOT And if you’re in the mood for hibachi, Teppan Edo in the Japan Pavilion is your spot. But is it worth the price, or should you save your dining budget for another location? We stopped by to see if the food and experience live up to the hype. Atmosphere Teppan Edo leans heavily into the hibachi experience. The setup is classic teppanyaki – large communal tables surrounding a flat-top grill where your chef works their magic. Teppan Edo Expect a lively atmosphere with clanking spatulas, onion volcanoes, and the occasional Mickey shape drawn in oil. It’s loud but not overwhelming, making it a fun option for families or groups looking for an interactive meal. Teppan Edo Our chef was entertaining and kept the energy up throughout, tossing shrimp tails into his hat and making jokes as he cooked. If you’ve been to a hibachi restaurant before, this will feel familiar, but with a slight Disney twist. The experience is the main draw here, so if you’re looking for a quiet meal, this may not be your best choice. Menu Teppan Edo keeps things relatively simple with a focus on teppanyaki-style entrees. Your meal comes with a salad, steamed rice, vegetables, and udon noodles. Teppan Edo The menu also features appetizers like takoyaki, a sushi sampler, and a few dessert options. Teppan Edo Dessert Menu There’s a selection of Japanese beers, sake, and cocktails if you’re looking to pair your meal with a drink. Eats We started things off with the Takoyaki. They’re served with tonkatsu sauce, bonito flakes, and nori. These octopus fritters were an interesting start. They had a crispy exterior and a soft, almost creamy inside, similar to a risotto ball. Takoyaki The bonito flakes on top did their signature dance from the heat, adding a fun visual element. The texture was enjoyable, but the flavor wasn’t for everyone. If you’re a fan of octopus and enjoy trying unique dishes, it’s worth a shot. Otherwise, you might want to pass. Takoyaki Next up was the Sushi Sampler, which was two pieces of spicy roll, two pieces of California roll, and three pieces of nigiri. This was probably the most underwhelming dish of the night. Sushi Sampler The California roll was basic, the spicy roll had a little kick but nothing special, and the nigiri was just okay. The fish tasted fresh but lacked flavor. You’ll need the soy sauce, wasabi, and ginger to help enhance the experience. If you’re craving sushi, you’re better off at another spot in EPCOT. Sushi Sampler Next, we dove into the main event – the Nihonbashi, which is steak and chicken served with a garden salad or miso soup, udon noodles, vegetables, and steamed white rice. Nihonbashi The steak was cooked to our requested medium and had a nice sear, while the chicken was juicy but a little bland. The vegetables – zucchini, carrots, onion, and spinach – were well-cooked but could have used more seasoning. Teppan Edo The udon noodles were a nice touch, but again, not overly flavorful. Thankfully, the accompanying ginger sauce and yum yum sauce added the punch this dish needed. Teppan Edo The salad was fresh with a tangy, vinegary dressing that we really enjoyed. The steamed rice was just… steamed rice. Teppan Edo We also subbed in miso soup for one of the salads. The soup had great tofu but was a bit too mild for our taste. Miso Soup For our first dessert, we tried the Mango Mousse Cake. While the cake was moist and light, the mango flavor was subtle to the point of being forgettable. Mango Mousse Cake It also wasn’t much of a mousse cake– the mousse was barely there. For $10, the portion was small, and while it wasn’t bad, it didn’t quite feel worth the price. Mango Mousse Cake Lastly, we had the Matcha Ice Cream. Listen, if you love matcha, you’ll enjoy this. Matcha Ice Cream The earthy, slightly bitter matcha flavor balanced well with the sweetness of the ice cream. It was simple but satisfying, and the portion felt reasonable for the price compared to the mango mousse cake. Matcha Ice Cream Nosh or Not You should make a reservation at Teppan Edo if… You love the interactive experience of hibachi-style dining. You’re looking for a fun, lively meal with a group. You enjoy simple, fresh flavors and dipping sauces to customize your food. You should skip Teppan Edo if… You want a quiet, intimate dining experience. You prefer bold, heavily seasoned food without needing extra sauces. You’re hoping for high-quality sushi. Overall Teppan Edo is a solid choice if you’re here for the experience. Watching your meal being cooked in front of you is fun, and our chef was engaging and entertaining. But when it comes to flavor, the food played it a little too safe. If you love hibachi and don’t mind using sauces to amp things up, you’ll probably have a great time. But if you’re looking for bold flavors or exceptional sushi, you might want to check out some of EPCOT’s other dining options. Gatorland and its conservation arm dubbed Gatorland Global will be part of the SharkCon presentations in Tampa on Saturday. Miami-based biologist Joe Wasilewski is scheduled to speak on “Understanding the Florida Gator” at 11 a.m. at the event, held at the Florida State Fairgrounds Expo Hall. The two-day gathering, set for Saturday and Sunday, will also feature topics such as shark management, animals in human care, sawfish conservation, megalodon insights and multiples “Jaws” sessions, including a look behind the scenes at “Jaws 3-D” (partially filmed at SeaWorld Orlando) and a 50th anniversary panel that’s scheduled to include actor Richard Dreyfuss and Jeffrey Voorhees, the now-grown child actor famous for playing Jaws victim Alex Kintner. Also involved in conservation efforts is Gatorland Global, created in 2018 to conserve, protect and educate the public about animals. Earlier this year, Gatorland Global became an official 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with a worldwide emphasis. Gatorland Global ambassador Savannah Boan will be on hand at SharkCon Saturday. Gatorland Global’s latest rescue was an alligator captured at the Villages and released at Gatorland, the South Orange Blossom Trail attraction that opened in 1949. Trapper Robby Keszey brought in the 10-foot-long animal, which had been chasing lawn mowers and landscapers. After the July 4th weekend release, the gator was renamed Uncle Sam. Happy Holidays! Yeah, yeah, we kid…but not really. This is the time of the year when we start getting all kinds of details about the holiday season in Disney World, so we’re almost ready to break out the Christmas trees. Santa Duffy at Jollywood We’ve already had some details about the holidays in Disney World, but Disney also just revealed the dates for this year’s Jollywood Nights in Disney’s Hollywood Studios! In addition to that, we also got some new details about this year’s Jollywood Nights, including some new things that will be coming to the party this year. So what will be new at this year’s Jollywood Nights? Well, for starters, those with a ticket will be able to get in to Hollywood Studios EARLIER this year. If you’ve got a ticket to Jollywood Nights, you can get into the park as early as 5:30 PM, giving you more time to enjoy the festivities. Jollywood Nights You’ll also get to see Miguel from Coco at Holiday Fiesta en la Calle in a new location near Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster. The Latin-inspired street fair is moving to Coaster Courtyard on Sunset Boulevard this year. José Carioca and Panchito from The Three Caballeros will be returning this year. Fiesta en la Calle During the party, you’ll also be able to watch the two newest shows in Hollywood Studios: “The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure” and “Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After.” Maleficent in Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After Disney even promised a new snack (this is what we might be the most excited about) on the menu at Backlot Express that will be exclusive to the party. Okay, now we’re excited. We don’t have any details about food at the party yet, but we’ll be keeping an eye out! Snacks at ABC Commissary at 2024 Jollywood Nights Of course, you can’t have a party without new merchandise. Disney confirmed that new Jollywood Nights merchandise would be available this year, and we got a sneak peek at this year’s spirit jersey. ©Disney Jollywood Nights is happening on select nights from November 8th through December 22nd. Right now, we can even let you know a few you can find at the party: Princess Fairytale Hall Anna and Elsa in their Christmas attire Town Square Theater Sally and Santa Jack Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse in their finest holiday looks Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmas Parade For an enchanting parade that embodies the spirit of the holidays, look no further than Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmas Parade. This mesmerizing performance includes dancing gingerbread men, whimsical ballroom dancers, beloved marching toy soldiers, and upbeat holiday music and scents that will immediately put you in the festive spirit. Get swept away by the magic of Christmas and see many Disney characters dressed in their holiday attire before the parade concludes with a special appearance by Santa Claus as he wishes everyone a Merry Christmas and happy New Year. Reminder: Since the parade travels from Frontierland to Main Street, U.S.A., there are a ton of great viewing locations for guests throughout the park. Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks Hosted by Minnie Mouse, this nighttime spectacular combines beloved holiday classics — such as “Deck the Halls” and “We Wish You a Merry Christmas” — with stunning pyrotechnics, castle projections and lighting effects. Cinderella Castle will be wrapped like a present in vibrant holiday scenes; all synchronized perfectly with the music and fireworks above. Gather the elves in front of the castle to view the projections or watch the fireworks display from a variety of vantage points throughout Magic Kingdom, with great views available in areas like Liberty Square, Fantasyland and Tomorrowland. Disney Jollywood Nights is coming BACK to Hollywood Studios in 2025! Jollywood Nights This separately ticketed event debuted in 2023, and it came back for another year of festivities in 2024. We knew that this popular event would undoubtedly be returning again this year — we just weren’t quite sure when yet. But, that’s all changed because Disney just announced the FULL LIST of dates for Jollywood Nights 2025! It’s official! Disney’s Jollywood Nights is returning to Hollywood Studios on select nights between November 8th and December 22nd. Sunset Boulevard Crowds Check out the full list of dates below: November 8th, 15th, 17th, 22nd, 24th, 29th (Saturdays and Mondays) December 1st, 6th, 10th, 13th, 17th, 20th, 22nd Guests of select Disney Resorts hotels, Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin hotels, and Shades of Green can purchase tickets starting on July 16th. For all other guests, tickets will go on sale on July 22nd. Jollywood Nights Jollywood Nights features special entertainment, festive snacks and drinks, character meet and greets, lots of Christmas decorations. We’ve attended this event in the past, and while we preferred Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, Disney Jollywood Nights still has so much to offer! Bert and Mr. Penguin Some of the special entertainment offerings at Disney Jollywood Nights in 2023 included bands and singers throughout the park, DJs in Animation Courtyard and on Hollywood Boulevard, and some special shows. You could see the Holidays in Hollywood Show, a Nightmare Before Christmas-themed sing-along, and Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM! fireworks show. Tip Top Club The event also featured some rare meet and greets with Powerline Max, Chip ‘n’ Dale as the Rescue Rangers, and Phineas and Ferb. In addition to entertainment, you could grab a large variety of exclusive snacks during Disney Jollywood Nights. One of our favorite snacks from last year was the Spicy Korean Chicken Funnel Cake at Epic Eats. For the past few months, EPCOT has been a little…slower. That’s because one of the park’s iconic (and speedy!) attractions has been closed for refurbishment. Dear Test Track — we miss you! Test Track Disney Imagineers have been busy transforming Test Track (again) for EPCOT fans to “discover the future of transportation on the thrilling road to tomorrow.” Think of it like a blend of the past, present, and future! Soon, this ride will officially open to the public, but before it does, Disney World Annual Passholders are being treated to an exclusive preview of the attraction. We have NEW details about how these previews will work, so let’s talk about it. If you are a Disney World Annual Passholder, you can register to join a virtual queue to ride Test Track before its official opening date. Preview dates will take place on July 13th, 14th, 15th, 16th, 18th, and 19th. Previews are happening SOON! The virtual queue will open at 7 AM (as long as you have a park pass reservation to EPCOT and a valid Annual Pass). If you are unable to join the queue at 7 AM, you can try again at 1 PM. Luckily, Disney confirmed you do NOT need to be in a theme park to join the virtual queue — just make sure to set your alarm so you’re ready first thing in the morning! Test Track You may only join the virtual queue once per day, and Passholders are not allowed to bring guests to the Test Track previews. ©Disney If you miss out on the ride previews, don’t worry — you won’t have to wait long to check out the new ride. Test Track opens to EVERYONE on July 22nd. Test Track opens soon! Disney Vacation Club Member previews will take place on July 12th. Registration will open on July 8th for those who have booked a hotel reservation before July 6th and are using their membership on July 12th. Test Track Additionally, Club 33 Members and Golden Oak residents will have their previews on July 11th. Disney Vacation Club Members, Club 33 Members, and Golden Oak residents will not use the virtual queue system but will need to register in advance. The final scene on Test Track! So, what can we expect on the new Test Track? The ride features an all-new musical score and new scenes. The retheme focuses on highlighting technology that makes our cars smarter and our lives more fun! If you remember the old World of Motion attraction, you might notice some nods to it in this NEW Test Track iteration. We won’t spoil the whole ride for you, but look (and listen!) carefully. If the arrival of a new “Superman” movie has you all “up, up and away” for superheroic — but local — adventures, there are multiple options in Central Florida these days. DC Comics has established a bit of a stronghold at a couple of unexpected locations. But be aware that some of these are in the Orlando area for limited runs. And while these activities may not take place in the same universe or against the same supervillains, it might be a good time to get your cape out of the dry cleaners. Look! Up in the sky! Gaylord Palms is running a multipronged event called DC Summer, a collaboration with Warner Bros. Discovery Global Experiences. Hotel guests and other visitors may interact with characters in shows, at meals and randomly inside the supersized Kissimmee resort. “We wanted you to have this feeling that you could come in and you could see your favorite superheroes and really be part of that legend, you know, the lore of them,” said Niko Nickolau, entertainment director of Gaylord Hotels. The “DC Super Hero Academy” live show has “choose your own adventure”/Mad Lib styling. “The superhero story changes based on the audience,” Nickolau said. “And then there’s a different hero that comes out depending on the day.” The DC Super Hero Craft Zone, which features a "diamond art" mosaic piece to take home, is part of Gaylord's DC Summer. (Courtesy Gaylord Palms Resort)The resort offers DC Super Hero Craft Zone, featuring a take-home “diamond art” mosaic piece; Revenge of the Riddler Scavenger Hunt, which has puzzles scattered across the sprawling resort; and Hall of Justice Character Dining, which features three major superheroes in person. The meal is a favorite “because you get such unique and close proximity photos of Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman,” Nickolau said. Visitors may also spot heroes randomly patrolling the grounds. “They’re just monitoring, making sure no villains are around and there’s no problems that are occurring,” Nickolau said. The resort also features DC-themed poolside activities as well as films that are shown from the main pool area on select nights. There are themed foods, including Icee drinks called Amazonian Freeze and Metropolis Chill (Mention the word “superhero” for a secret menu), and there are merchandise locations. The day builds to the “Battle for Justice Light Show” in the Gaylord Palms atrium, featuring LED curtains hanging from the ceiling. The presentation has a 10-minute soundtrack and a slew of heroes and villains, from the Cheetah to Green Lantern. “It’s a digital comic book up in the sky,” Nickolau said. “We think it’s a great medium to bring everybody together towards the end of the night.” You don’t have to be a hotel guest to participate, although there are fees for several of the activities. Gaylord also offers a room package that includes a DC Super Hero Supply Pack with an autograph book, a projector pen, a superhero cape and more. “DC Summer” runs through Sept. 1. You can run with the Flash. Bad guys such as Cheetah and Joker (who have messed with the Bat-Signal) are also in the mix. Even without superspeed, you can be a hero by volunteering or being a friend, the exhibit teaches. The exhibit, created by the Children’s Museum of Indianapolis, remains in Orlando through Sept. 7. Lighting and other special effects make the scenes a bit interactive. At Tussauds, you’re in control of the Bat-Signal as the Caped Crusader strikes a striking, cape-furled pose nearby. Perhaps the most fun is preventing a certain crash of the Daily Planet helicopter alongside Superman. Among the other big names represented by wax figures daily in the attraction include Beyonce, Bad Bunny, Lady Gaga, Dua Lipa, Rihanna, Serena Williams, Shaquille O’Neal (in old school Orlando Magic uniform), Zendaya, Ryan Gosling and Walt Disney. A major change in TSA security screenings is expected to roll out around the country! Headed to the gate We’ve seen several changes recently to airline flight routes, planes, and even the airports themselves. While these are all good things to keep a steady pulse on before your upcoming travels, there’s one interesting change coming to airport security screenings that will be happening soon! According to ABC News, TSA is changing part of its security screening process. For almost 20 years, a memorable part of the security screenings with TSA before boarding your next flight for vacation or business travel has been to remove your shoes. Checking In! The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) is planning to allow passengers to keep their shoes on when they go through the general security line at several major airports across the country. An unexpected memo was sent to TSA officers nationwide last week outlining the new policy. This change will allow all passengers to keep their shoes on in all screening lanes at various airports across the country. This change in policy is set to begin as early as Sunday, July 13th. MCO Airport For almost two decades, only passengers in the TSA PreCheck line were able to keep their shoes on in most cases during security screenings. This new policy change may be a result of the efforts the transportation agency has spent over the past several years looking for ways to allow passengers to move faster through the security checkpoints. While this change will allow passengers to keep their shoes on during security screenings, any passenger who triggers the alarm at the scanners or magnetometers will still be required to take their shoes off for additional screening. MCO airport This change marks a major shift in the current policy TSA has been operating under since 2006 which was when we first saw shoes required to be removed for additional security screening. While the memo to TSA officers mentioned major airports will experience this change, this means passengers flying through smaller regional airports may still be required to remove their shoes prior to screening.
