You might remember us talking about aisle lice a while back. They are typically found on airplanes, but now we’re starting to notice them creep up into Disney World restaurants. ©Getty Images What are aisle lice? Luckily, they’re not as gross as the term implies. These are simply people who, when boarding a plane, jump up and clog the paths to the jetway long before their boarding groups are called. This makes it difficult for flight attendants to manage the line and for passengers with earlier boarding groups to get through. So how are “aisle lice” affecting Disney World restaurants? Well, in a different way, they are, and its having similar effects on others trying to dine at the restaurants. If you’ve been to Disney World, you might be familiar with Mobile Order. It’s a VERY useful feature in the My Disney Experience app. At many counter service restaurants, you can place your order in the app and select a general time frame that you want to pick it up. When you’re ready for it, you’ll let them know, then you’ll get a notification when your food is ready. It’s a great way to skip the line, continue enjoying the park, and ensuring your food will be ready for you need it. But here’s the problem: “aisle lice” are beginning to crowd the Mobile Order area of these restaurants. Large crowds can form at the Mobile Order area of restaurants The people who hurry to stand in the usually small area designated for mobile order just to stand around and wait are who are referring to as “aisle lice” at Disney World restaurants, and it’s causing a lot of congestion. These crowds make it difficult for people who get notified their order is ready to actually get to the counter to pick it up. Where you’ll grab your mobile order! Instead of clogging up these small areas, we recommend finding a shop, or a bench outside, or continuing to enjoy some form of entertainment nearby while you wait for your food to be ready. It’s okay if the food sits at the counter for a couple of minutes while you make your way to the restaurant. Of course, we don’t mean be a 30-minute walk away, but five minutes is probably okay. This will help the congestion actually making it a smoother process for everyone, including you. Mobile Order pick up at Backlot Express We definitely recommend using Mobile Order throughout the parks and hotels! It’s a very convenient tool to help you continue enjoying your day without standing in more lines. And since the purpose is to avoid waiting in line, don’t make yourself stand around waiting the same as if you were in a line. For more Disney tips and tricks, keep following DFB! I’ve Tried Every Mobile Order Hack for Disney World, and I’m Sharing My 5 Favorites Do you use Mobile Order at the parks? Let us know in the comments! Disneyland history is one of those things that we could learn about forever and ever because there are so many stories about Disneyland’s development and early days that we still haven’t completely heard. Walt Disney and Ub Iwerks ©Disney Sure, we know about how Walt dreamed up Disneyland when he was watching his children ride a carousel. We’ve also paid tribute to his apartment that still sits above the Main Street Fire Station on Main Street, U.S.A. (and where a light is always kept on for him). We’ve watched ALL the documentaries on Disney+, including The Imagineering Story. Well, the woman behind The Imagineering Story is giving us a brand-new Disneyland documentary, Disneyland Handcrafted. Leslie Iwerks knows a thing or two about Disneyland history. Her family has a long history of working with Disney: both her father, Don, and grandfather, Ub, are Disney Legends. She also served as the producer of The Imagineering Story. At Destination D23, Iwerks took the stage and announced a new documentary, Disneyland Handcrafted. This new documentary takes you behind the creation of Disneyland over 70 years ago and includes ASMR rare footage she handpicked from the Walt Disney Archives. ©Disney During Disneyland’s construction, Walt had several cameramen capture many of the moments of the park’s creation, leading up to its opening day. That footage featured an up-close look at many of the people who were actually there during the tough times when Disneyland was being built. Most of this footage has never been seen before, but you’ll see it in the new documentary. Don Iwerks ©Disney Leslie toured the Walt Disney Archives to track down these historical film reels, which led to the discovery of reels that had never been scanned before. Leslie and her team worked tirelessly to produce high-resolution scans of every reel to restore this footage that shows the early days of Disneyland. Personally, I’m obsessed with Disneyland history, and I loved learning more about the behind-the-scenes stories of the park in The Imagineering Story. I can’t wait to watch Disneyland Handcrafted and see some of this footage that’s never seen the light of day before. Disneyland Handcrafted is coming to Disney+ and Disney YouTube this winter, so keep an eye out. In the meantime, stay tuned to DFB for more. Today at Destination D23, the “Disney Villains: Icons of Evil” panel was every bit as wonderfully wicked as its name promised. The presentation, hosted by YouTube mega-creator Michelle Khare, was packed with plenty of frightfully fun moments and announcements. Featuring a mischievous musical medley provided by Disney Concert Group, along with stage and screen stars Michael James Scott and Jodi Benson, this presentation gave a sneak peek into some upcoming villains-focused projects and products – including the new villains-themed land at Walt Disney World, showing that these devilish divas never go out of style. Let’s recap everything Michelle and the team revealed, if we dare… Villains Take the Stage at Walt Disney World The most anticipated news of the panel came out of Walt Disney World, where the new show “Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After” recently premiered and construction for the previously revealed villains-themed land is on the horizon. To kick off the presentation, Executive Creative Director Caroline May and Executive Producer Wyatt Winter from Walt Disney Imagineering shared some eagerly awaited updates about the villains-themed land coming to Magic Kingdom. Since it was first announced last year at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event, our Imagineers have been busy working to bring this villainous vision to life, and the panel provided some incredible insights into the extensive research that went into the land before construction even began. It was a treat for the audience to hear about the vibe and vision, which was largely influenced by the Art Nouveau style of architecture in Europe, from the Imagineers themselves. Check out this blog post to learn more about the people, projects, and places that inspired the team at Walt Disney Imagineering responsible for developing the land. Disney Live Entertainment Show Director Mark Renfrow then gave fans a behind-the-screams look at how Disney Live Entertainment developed the new spellbinding show, which can be seen at Disney’s Hollywood Studios and features Cruella de Vil, Captain Hook, and Maleficent alongside other iconic villains as fans are invited to engage with these characters in an exciting new way. He did a deep dive into Cruella specifically, focusing on her wonderfully wacky fashion sense and the different looks she dons throughout the show. Villains Assemble at Disneyland Resort Mark Renfrow soon switched gears to talk about all things Oogie Boogie Bash at Disney California Adventure park, including the debut of this year’s newest character – Syndrome. Guests can encounter this scheming, snarky super-villain for the first time as they explore his dedicated treat trail near Pixar Pier during the party, in addition to other exclusive, eerie experiences like the Frightfully Fun Parade and Villains Grove. Villains Set Sail on Disney Cruise Line We’ve been sharing lots of updates from the Disney Destiny here on the Disney Parks Blog as the ship prepares to set sail this November, and Entertainment Creative Director for Disney Signature Experiences Live Entertainment Denise Case just revealed even more details. Artwork shown for the announcement revealed a new “meet and play” character encounter with the playfully sinister practitioner of the macabre, Dr. Facilier. This cunningly charming illusionist may be lurking around the upper levels of the Grand Hall or in his own makeshift parlor, inviting guests in for a card trick or sleight of hand – he’s just here to make new friends… Villains Join the Party at Hong Kong Disneyland Mark Renfrow then shared another exciting announcement from Disney Live Entertainment – a brand-new entertainment offering will be debuting at Hong Kong Disneyland on September 19 as the park kicks off their Halloween season! “Uninvited! A Villains Takeover Party” will include elements of a cavalcade, street show, and musical spectacle, showcasing various Disney Villains including Maleficent, the mistress of evil. After being uninvited from yet another royal gathering, Maleficent decides to stir up some fun of her own and goads the invited guests to call forth her uninvited counterparts. Spells fly, fire flashes, and music soars as the glittering assemblage of Disney Villains and their underlings arrive for a most sinister street party. Villains Invade Disney Consumer Products We know that fans love to show off their villains pride, and Director of Graphic Design for Disney Consumer Products Stacey Aoyama showed the audience what mysterious merchandise they can expect in the coming months. The Bath & Body Works collection, inspired by some of the most beloved Disney Villains, dropped online this week, and ahead of the in-store release on September 3, Stacey shared some secrets about the development of these products and Disney’s recent collaborations with Bath & Body Works, which have been fan-favorite items. So much thought went into the careful crafting and creation of the villains line, with a particular focus on the fragrance notes and characteristics as they relate to the personalities of Maleficent and the Evil Queen. The scents being ideal for fall was also a very intentional goal that the team had, and we know these will be the perfect addition to your spooky season shopping cart. A new Mattel product was also announced – an Ursula doll will be joining a longstanding lineup of other Disney dolls loved by collectors. The doll is specifically part of the Disney Collector Darkness Descends Series and highlights Ursula’s powerful, theatrical look, complete with iridescent neon tentacles. Fans can find this item online at MattelCreations.com starting September 7, and you can dive into more details here. More Dark Delights From Destination D23 Await This panel was the perfect way to help us all get ready to enter our villain eras this fall, and we can’t wait to keep watching these projects come to life. Destination D23 wraps up today at Walt Disney World Resort, and one of the final events of the action and announcement-packed weekend was the “Disney Villains: Icons of Evil” panel. Michelle Khare, host of the YouTube Series Challenge Accepted, led the devious discussion, which explored the many ways our favorite Disney Villains will soon be materializing across Disney Parks, cruise ships, and products. For the fans that are passionate about collectible novelties, the reveal of Mattel Creations’ Disney Collector Ursula Doll, which will be swimming onto MattelCreations.com this September, was certainly a highlight of the panel. Mattel’s Darkness Descends Series Disney’s Ursula is the newest addition to the Darkness Descends Series, which began with Maleficent in 2023 and continued with Cruella de Vil in 2024. These dazzling divas are displayed in intricately designed boxes and made with premium materials – a true celebration of iconic Disney Villains in their most evil, high-fashion forms. The bold craftsmanship and rich storytelling showcased in the first two dolls can again be seen in Ursula, with a dramatic twist that feels perfectly in-tune with the essence of this feared, but still fan-favorite, character. Disney Collector Ursula Doll Joins the Villains Lineup This collectible fashion doll shows Ursula after she transforms into the supreme ruler she’s always dreamed of becoming, complete with her signature tentacles, an over-the-top organza collar, and a sinister smirk as she embraces her epic powers in style. Another impressive feature is the UV accents, which are activated by LED lights inside the packaging and add a whole other vibrant layer to this neon nightmare. Every detail, from her captivating crown to the type of fabrics used for her fearsome fit, feels bold, elevated, and dripping with this character’s campy confidence. It was no easy feat capturing Ursula’s larger-than-life presence in doll form, but the team at Mattel crafted a collectible that manages to be full of attitude, power, and theatrics, with a touch of fashion-forward flair. When and Where to Purchase the Ursula Doll Collectors can get their tentacles on this stunning sea witch starting September 8, 2025 via MattelCreations.com. We can’t wait for this unforgettable Ursula doll to join the Disney Darkness Descends Series alongside Maleficent and Cruella soon. Some exciting projects are underway in Disney World, and we can’t wait to explore them all! Villains Land ©Disney From the Monsters, Inc.-themed land coming to Hollywood Studios to the two new Cars attractions in Magic Kingdom, we’ve got some fun updates on the horizon for Disney fans. However, one of the most highly-anticipated offerings is the new Villains Land coming to Magic Kingdom. And recently, we got some BIG news about what will be available there! This weekend at Destination D23, fellow Imagineer Caroline and I got a chance to share some insights on the hard work happening on the new villains-themed land coming to Magic Kingdom park. The land was first announced by Josh D’Amaro, Chairman of Disney Experiences, last year at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event, where it was revealed that the space would include two major attractions, dining, and shopping – all with a touch of dark, devious flair. Here’s what you might have missed: New Details About the Villains-Themed Land at Magic Kingdom During a video message in the panel, Disney Legend and former animator Andreas Deja, who is best known for helping to bring some of the most evil Disney Villains to life onscreen, such as Gaston in Beauty and the Beast, Jafar in Aladdin, and Scar in The Lion King, announced that he was officially consulting on the project. Deja shared that these characters are the best source materials for Imagineers to utilize and reference when conceptualizing the land, with big personalities, bold visuals, and rich backgrounds to influence the overall ambiance and the experience that guests will have while visiting. What Inspired the Villains-Themed Land? We were happy to confirm that our journey to developing the land began with the animation source material and the Walt Disney Animation Studios artists responsible for it. These conversations made us realize that it was critical to reflect the look and feel of the characters’ animation in the land’s physical structures and appearance, so we set off to Paris, France and Barcelona, Spain to learn about each city’s architecture and its unique attributes. The research trip was truly transformative and completely immersive. Our team specifically studied Art Nouveau architecture design and the unique form, scale, and color that define this style, which flourished in the late 1800s. Through partnerships with local professors, along with art and architectural historians, Imagineers received an intimate look at the architectural aesthetics that will serve as the overall design inspiration for the land. The Influence of Art Nouveau Architecture on the Villains-Themed Land Paris is a city full of classic Art Nouveau examples – the team highlighted the way natural motifs and swirling designs there make nature appear to be “cursed” like magic has frozen it into place. On the other hand, Barcelona’s art style is Modernisme, which has less natural patterns but gives the architecture an otherworldly, unnerving appearance. Another fascinating discovery that they made in both places was how many of the architectural elements had a wonderful color palette, full of rich tones. Seeing details like colorful stained-glass windows and painted metals helped us understand how we might bring the beautiful, deep jewel tones of the animated villains to life in the land’s buildings. After identifying the similarities between the magical, fluid, and organic appearance of both the animated villains and the Art Nouveau style of construction, the team coined the term “Conjured Architecture.” This refers to the blend of historical components and fantastical worlds that have merged to ultimately create something wicked that will be able to be experienced firsthand – a villains-inspired land. Disney Villains remain some of the most iconic and beloved characters thanks to their memorable musical moments, extravagant attire, complex stories, and striking visuals. I cannot wait to share more about how these villains are brought to life in this new land here on the Disney Parks Blog. Sometimes, Disney World can feel like it’s designed to drain your wallet. Space Mountain on-ride photo Between the park tickets, hotel stays, dining reservations, and merch that suddenly feels like a “must-have,” it’s easy to find yourself spending way more than you expected. But every now and then, we come across a Disney hack that feels like a genuine win—and this one only set me back $29. If you love getting those fun ride photos and videos without shelling out a couple hundred dollars, this is a tip you’ll want to remember. The Memory Maker Price Tag For years, Disney has offered Memory Maker, which gives you access to unlimited PhotoPass downloads during your trip. That includes ride photos, attraction videos, and all the pictures taken by professional Disney photographers around the parks. If you’re someone who wants family portraits in front of Cinderella Castle, character meet-and-greet shots, and nighttime photos on Main Street, it’s a pretty solid option. ©Disney But the price is… not small. A Memory Maker package costs $209.99 for a 30-day window or $74.99 for a single day. If you’re on a long trip with a big group, that $209 might make sense. But if you’re just popping in for a park day or two and really only care about those hilarious mid-ride faces, dropping over $70 for one day feels like overkill. ©Disney That’s where I discovered this hack. Lightning Lane Multi Pass Comes With a Secret Bonus When you purchase Lightning Lane Multi Pass (LLMP), you’re essentially buying the ability to reserve return times for certain attractions. It’s Disney’s version of skipping long standby lines, and it’s sold per park per day. The pricing varies slightly depending on the park, but here’s what the prices are for September 1st, 2025: Magic Kingdom: $29 EPCOT: $24 Hollywood Studios: $27 Animal Kingdom: $19 ©Disney Those prices feel pretty fair for what you’d be getting in terms of convenience. But here’s the kicker that not everyone realizes—when you buy LLMP, you also get digital downloads of your ride photos and attraction videos for that day. ©Disney That means your screaming faces on Space Mountain, your dramatic poses on Tower of Terror, and your victory smiles on Test Track are all included at no extra charge. The Math That Makes It Worth It Let’s do the math for a second. One-day Memory Maker: $74.99 One-day Lightning Lane Multi Pass at Magic Kingdom: $29 That’s a $45.99 difference—and LLMP still gives you the ride photos you actually want. The only thing you’re missing are the professional photographer shots stationed around the park. If you’re cool with snapping those on your phone (or having a Cast Member take them for you), then LLMP is hands-down the smarter purchase. PhotoPass For example, on my last trip, I rode seven attractions with ride photos. That’s seven high-quality downloads for less than thirty bucks. And honestly? That’s more than enough. Those mid-ride moments are the ones I actually go back to look at, not the 15 castle photos that all kind of blur together. Why This Hack Matters Disney is full of little costs that sneak up on you. Paying $10 here for a snack, $20 there for a pair of Mickey ears, $7 for a cold brew—you can blow through your budget without even realizing it. Matcha Cold Brew This hack works because it’s about knowing what’s worth paying for. If you’re going to spend money anyway, you might as well do it in a way that gives you the most value. For $29, you’ll not only skip some long standby lines thanks to LLMP, but you’ll also walk away with a folder full of ride photos that would have cost you more than double if you’d gone the traditional Memory Maker route. ©Disney Plus, having those attraction photos included makes LLMP feel like an even better deal than it already is. Disney doesn’t exactly advertise this perk front and center, so a lot of guests don’t realize they’re entitled to the downloads. The Trade-Offs You Should Know Of course, there are some limits. If you’re the type of person who really values those professional PhotoPass shots, then Memory Maker is still your best bet. That’s especially true if you’re celebrating something like a honeymoon, graduation, or family reunion where you want polished group photos to frame later. ©Disney But if you’re like me—and your phone camera is more than good enough for the casual family shots—then LLMP scratches the itch. You get the photos that matter most without paying for extras you’ll barely use. My Verdict Would I do it again? Absolutely. At the end of the day, $29 for LLMP felt like the perfect middle ground. I saved time by booking return windows, I got every ride photo I wanted, and I didn’t feel that sinking “oh no, I just spent $75 for one day of pictures” regret. If you’re planning your next Disney trip and you know ride photos are your priority, skip the Memory Maker splurge and go with LLMP instead. An animatronic version of Walt Disney will be incorporated into the Carousel of Progress attraction at Magic Kingdom theme park, Imagineer Chris Beatty announced at the Destination D23 event at the Coronado Springs Resort on Saturday. An overlay for the Tron Lightcycle / Run ride also was revealed at the event. The figure will be place in a new scene that precedes the traditional through-the-decades rotating story of an American family. Carousel of Progress was one of Disney’s ideas included in the New York World’s Fair of 1964. That event also was in the development of animatronics with Disney’s “Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln” show. The Magic Kingdom addition comes on the heels of the introduction of a Walt Disney animatronic at Disneyland. The figure is now seen in “Walt Disney — A Magical Life,” which debuted in July. “The introduction of a new audio-animatronics figure of Walt Disney in Walt Disney’s Carousel of Progress marks an exciting milestone in our shared mission to celebrate the story of the man behind the magic and inspire new generations with his innovations and vision for the future,” said Kirsten Komorosky, executive director of the Walt Disney Family Museum in San Francisco. After the World’s Fair, Carousel of Progress operated until 1973. It was introduced at Magic Kingdom’s Tomorrowland in 1973, and has experienced updates and seasonal closures over the decades. After a refurbishment in 1994, the name was tweaked to become Walt Disney’s Carousel of Progress. It’s put two different theme songs into pop culture, “There’s a Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow” and “The Best Time of Your Life,” both written by the Sherman Brothers. No timeline for the animatronic addition was announced. Magic Kingdom's Tron ride will have a new red hue for a limited time. (Walt Disney Co.) The overlay for the Tron ride, which opened in 2023, will begin Sept. 15 and be tied to the “Tron: Ares” film, which debuts Oct. 10, starring Gillian Anderson, Jeff Bridges and Jared Leto. Among the limited-time changes will be the addition of red hues and music by Nine Inch Nails. The group is part of the film’s soundtrack. The overlay also will be added at Shaghai Disneyland in September. Email me at dbevil@orlandosentinel.com. BlueSky: @themeparksdb. Threads account: @dbevil. X account: @themeparks. We’re SO excited that today is finally here! Disney Cruise Line’s newest ship, the Disney Destiny, is currently set to sail on November 20th, 2025, and will offer 4 and 5-night cruises to The Bahamas and Western Caribbean during her inaugural season. Today, we got a special look at the new dining options on board, and needless to say, we’re STOKED! The Sanctum The Sanctum will bring passengers into the world of Marvel’s Doctor Strange. The lounge will feature a “mesmerizing array of spellbinding cocktails, spirits, and coffee drinks available at the bar,” and around the room you’ll find mystical items designed to aid sorcerers in protecting the world. See if you can spot items like the Cloak of Levitation and spell books from the library of Kamar-Taj, but keep an eye out for the new shapes and spells too. The Sanctum ©DisneyCruiseLine We got a look at one of the new drinks coming to this bar, which is called the Mirror Dimension. This is made with Stoli Elit Vodka, Lychee, Fresh Lemon Juice, Pink Peppercorn, and Eletricdust Buzz Rock and it’ll be unlike anything else you’ve ever seen! ©Disney The glass will react to touch, and the electrifying dust will leave your tastebuds tingling. Haunted Mansion Parlor The Haunted Mansion Parlor is “reminiscent of a first-class drawing room from the classic cruise liners of the golden age,” and will blend “humor with Disney’s distinct brand of spooky storytelling. Legendary characters from Haunted Mansion attractions around the world will come out to socialize in mysterious ways throughout the experience, along with a few new seafaring arrivals and an original storyline focused on a ship captain.” Aboard the Disney Treasure, the Haunted Mansion Parlor honors more than five decades of fandom and introduces the world to the next chapter of the Haunted Mansion saga. Guests will enjoy spooktacular, specialty cocktails themed to the classic Disney Parks attraction and its inhabitants, as well as a variety of Haunted Mansion details from around the world. (Kent Phillips, photographer) A nearly identical bar is also located on the Disney Treasure, but we just found out that The Chilling Challenge will be made with different ingredients onboard the Disney Destiny. ©Disney This version will be made with Camus VSOP Cognac, Cointreau Noir, Joto Yuzu Sake, Orange Blossom Foam, and Edible Viola Flowers. Cask & Cannon Finally, we got word about a new drink coming to Cask & Cannon, the bar “inspired by the iconic characters and scenes from the beloved Disney Parks attractions around the world.” This new bar will be “an eclectic yet cozy watering hole furnished with treasures ‘acquired’ (read: pillaged and pilfered) during the pirates’ many voyages around the globe.” Cask and Cannon ©Disney The Dead Man’s Chest is a new experience made for two people that will fully immerse you in the theming of the bar. Yeah, we know. We’ve been hitting you with a LOT of big Disney news this weekend. Not only did we get you reviews of every single EPCOT Food & Wine Festival food booth, but we’re also at Destination D23, Disney’s biggest fan event of the year. Napa Rose Now, we’ve already shared announcements about Disney movies and Disney Parks, but now we’ve got some even MORE important news…and it’s all about Disney FOOD. Okay, so technically, it’s a new look at what a Disneyland restaurant will look like once it gets updated, complete with concept art. Napa Rose is a fine dining restaurant at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel. The restaurant has been closed since April, with Disney confirming that the dining spot would be getting a remodel with a new interior and patio. Disney previously shared concept art of the new interior. ©Disney The plans include expanded counters where guests can watch the restaurant’s chefs in action. The patio will also get more seating, as well as two more fireplaces so you can still dine al fresco even when it’s chilly out. Well, now, Disney has finally shared a first look at concept art of what this new patio will look like: ©Disney According to Disney, guests dining on the patio will be “surrounded by lush greenery and soft lighting, the California breeze enhancing the flavors of your meal.” This includes the two new fireplaces that “will cast a warm, flickering glow across the patio, adding a cozy and inviting touch to the atmosphere. As the sun sets, you can gather around the fire, reflecting on your Disney day and enjoying the ambiance.” Disney has not yet revealed a reopening date for the restaurant, but we’ll be keeping an eye out for more details, so stay tuned to DFB for more. During today’s “What’s Cooking with Disney Eats” panel at Destination D23, our food & beverage teams alongside host Keith Habersberger from the Try Guys served up a full menu of announcements, with a highlight being the reveal of eight new novelty items coming to select Disney Parks and Disney Cruise Line ships – including popcorn buckets, sippers, and mugs. The History of Disney Novelty Buckets Popcorn has been popping on Disney property since the opening day of Disneyland park 70 years ago, and it has since become a staple snack for anyone visiting a Disney Destination. The salty, buttery flavor we all know and love is the most classic version, but guests can now also enjoy different specialty offerings that vary by season or location – all of which can be served in a variety of vessels. Simple plastic popcorn buckets were introduced at Disney parks in the ‘90s, making way for the first character-inspired bucket – a Mickey Mouse Ghost – to debut in 2010. This opened the door for a whole new world of buckets, inspired by our favorite characters and featuring elements like light up features, sound effects, and wearable straps. From Star Wars droids and the beloved Figment to park symbols like trains and balloons, the teams who develop these incredible creations have a seemingly never-ending vault of inspiration to dip into. These days, though, popcorn buckets are not the only unique snack vessel – intricate mugs and themed sippers have also joined the lineup of fantastical novelties, allowing guests to snack and sip in style. Now that you’re a proper popcorn historian, let’s dive into a sneak peek at some of the new novelties launching soon across Disney Parks and Disney Cruise Line! Holiday Christmas Tree Truck Bucket Mickey and Friends are ready to deck the halls with their freshly cut Christmas tree and seasonal decor. This jolly bucket will be hitting the shelves this holiday season at Disneyland Resort, Aulani, and on select Disney Cruise Line ships. Trader Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Bar Holiday Zombie Mug and Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto Holiday Zombie Mug Another can’t-miss item that will be available this holiday season is the Trader Sam’s Holiday Zombie Mug. This festive and fearsome drinkware has two versions: gold and red thread. Disney Destiny Haunted Mansion Parlor Poseidon Mug We are only a few months away from the November 20 maiden voyage of the Disney Destiny, and are excited to share new details about an item that can be found onboard the ship. This Poseidon Mug showcasing the god of the sea will be sold in the Haunted Mansion Parlor, a lounge that evokes inspiration from the original theme park attraction. The Siren Mug Sip among the 999 happy haunts with the Siren Mug, another novelty that will be available at the Haunted Mansion Parlor on the Disney Destiny. This double-sided design features a sinister siren who transforms into an elegant aquatic beauty in the blink of an eye. Monsters, Inc. Scream Canister Bucket I scream, you scream, we all scream for this Monsters, Inc. Scream Canister Bucket. The canister is an iconic symbol of the films that we have previously seen in other merch forms (including a water bottle), so its upcoming bucket debut at Disneyland Resort and on select Disney Cruise Line ships is scream-worthy. Little Green Men Jetpack Sipper Soar to new heights with this sipper, featuring the beloved Little Green Men from Toy Story – ready for takeoff and wearing a jetpack. These adorable aliens are always a fan-favorite, and guests will be able to find this item at Disneyland Resort, Hong Kong Disneyland, and on select Disney Cruise Line ships. Winnie the Pooh & Piglet Spring Bucket This popcorn bucket featuring Winnie the Pooh and Piglet in their Easter best is the cutest spring surprise. Featuring perfect pastel hues, a colorful Easter egg, and Pooh donning darling bunny ears, this sweet design is coming next spring to Disneyland Resort and select Disney Cruise Line ships. Bantha Sipper Banthas are quite large in the Star Wars universe, but this sipper transforms these hairy, horned creatures into a handheld novelty. This out-of-this-galaxy item will be available next year at Disneyland Resort and on select Disney Cruise Line ships. Hungry for More? There’s Plenty of Fun Still Cooking at Destination D23 We can’t wait to see these buckets, sippers, and mugs start popping up in Disney parks and on Disney Cruise Line ships! We think shelling out some extra cash for Lightning Lanes is worth it, but it’s soooo much sweeter when you get to save a few extra bucks! Haunted Mansion Lightning Lane Lightning Lanes allow Disney World guests to skip the long standby lines, but, in most cases, you’ll only be able to access them via a paid ticket add-on. Right now, Disney World offers Lightning Lane Multi Pass, Lightning Lane Single Pass, and Lightning Lane Premier Pass for guests, and it looks like prices will be dropping for all three in September! Lightning Lane prices can get pretty bad over the summer, but with kids back in school, we’re starting to see them come back down to Earth, even if it’s just by a few bucks. Lightning Lanes prices and availability are date-based and fluctuate based on demand and crowd sizes. As such, while we’ve been able to evaluate prices a little past the halfway point of September, keep in mind that you won’t be paying a flat rate throughout the month, and it’s possible the days you visit could be more expensive or cheaper than other September dates. Slinky Dog Dash Lightning Lane Lightning Lane Multi Pass allows access to most of the Lightning Lanes in Disney World, and this September (at least through September 18th), prices range between $15 and $29 per person per day. In August, we saw prices reach up to $35. Lightning Lane at Expedition Everest The Lightning Lane Single Pass gives you access to the most popular ride in each Disney World theme park (Magic Kingdom has TWO). Single Passes in September (through the 18th) range between $11 and $24 per person per ride. According to our data tracking, that’s actually in line with August’s range. Rise of the Resistance Lightning Lane The Lightning Lane Premier Pass grants you one-time entry to EVERY Lightning Lane in the Disney Park of your choosing. Through September 18th, we’ve seen these prices range between $129 and $379. Last month, we saw $419 pop up for one of these bad boys, so this is a noticeable decrease. The cheapest Premier Pass park is Disney’s Animal Kingdom, followed by EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Magic Kingdom is the most expensive Premier Pass location each day. Lightning Lane Speaking of Magic Kingdom, Lightning Lane Multi Pass through September 18th will range between $23 and $29. In August, prices ranged from $29 to $35. Dumbo Lightning Lane Seven Dwarfs Mine Train Single Passes range between $11 and $13. TRON Lightcycle/Run ranges between $19 and $21. There is no change from August thus far. TRON Lightning Lane Over at EPCOT, Multi Pass ranges between $17 and $24 through September 18th. In August, the range was $19 to $26. Following a dream with mind and heart against all odds, Walt Disney revealed Disneyland to the world on July 17, 1955, changing the future of entertainment as we know it and cementing a transformative legacy that continues to inspire millions around the world today. That same vision continues to push for ongoing innovation across Disney Parks in the present and future, just as it has over the past 70 years. In an exciting announcement on stage during the “Creating the Happiest Place on Earth” panel at Destination D23, Walt Disney Imagineer Chris Beatty revealed that you will soon be able to see Walt Disney through the magic of Audio-Animatronics technology in “Walt Disney’s Carousel of Progress” at Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World Resort. “We are grateful to The Walt Disney Company and Walt Disney Imagineering for their continued collaboration and ongoing partnership with The Walt Disney Family Museum. The introduction of a new Audio-Animatronics figure of Walt Disney in ‘Walt Disney’s Carousel of Progress’ marks an exciting milestone in our shared mission to celebrate the story of the man behind the magic and inspire new generations with his innovations and vision for the future. We appreciate the continued efforts and meticulous care that Imagineering has taken to keep Walt’s legacy alive,” Kirsten Komoroske, Executive Director of the Walt Disney Family Museum said. Walt’s Ongoing Impact on the Carousel of Progress Walt’s own idea from beginning to end, the Carousel of Progress made its debut at the New York World’s Fair in 1964, where it was an immediate smash hit for millions of people visiting from around the world. Since then, the show has had more performances than any other stage show in the history of American theater and has found a comfortable home as a tribute to the original version of the show inside Magic Kingdom since 1975. Progress and innovation were two of Walt’s cornerstone passions, which is as evident in the show today as it was when it first debuted. Before you follow an American family (and Rover!) over four generations of progress as technology transforms their lives and paves the way for once-unimaginable innovations, you’ll be able to catch a brand-new introductory scene and hear from the legendary man who never stood in the way of progress — Walt Disney. There are still plenty of additional details to be revealed, including what John, Sarah, and the rest of the family are up to. Disney Imagineers love this attraction and the heart of it will stay the same while introducing the Carousel of Progress to an entirely new generation of fans, showing them that a great big, beautiful tomorrow is just a dream away.
