  1. Time is moving on! Dinosaur Dinosaur has been a staple at Animal Kingdom since the attraction debuted as Countdown to Extinction when the park opened in 1998. Now Disney has announced its official closing date to make way for a new version of a classic Disneyland experience. The attraction’s closure comes as part of the construction of the new Tropical Americas area at Animal Kingdom. Disney has officially confirmed that Dinosaur will be closing on February 2nd, 2o26. This means the final day to experience DINOSAUR, The Dino Institute Shop, Restaurantosaurus, and Restaurantosaurus Lounge is February 1st. DINOSAUR Dinosaur will be turning into an Indiana Jones attraction as part of the area’s transformation. Disney aficionados know how full circle appropriate this is, as Dinosaur’s ride system, track layout, and physical experience were clones of the original Indiana Jones Adventure, which opened at Disneyland in 1995. Indiana Jones Adventure In addition to the Indiana Jones attraction, Tropical Americas will also feature an area dedicated to Encanto. The expansion’s construction and will be opening in 2027. Tropical Americas concept art Dinosaur has been a part of Animal Kingdom for the entirety of the park’s existence. However, the attraction will be closing on (INSERT DAY) to make way for a new take on the classic Indiana Jones experience. Stay tuned to DFB for further Animal Kingdom updates. 3. Just when you think Disney World might have revealed all the changes they could be coming to the parks and hotels, they throw another curveball! EPCOT Moana parking lot We feel like we’re in the aftermath of a whirlwind of information and news Disney just released during Destination D23 about its parks, hotels, cruise line updates, and more, but it seems the changes don’t just stop there. EPCOT’s also just kicked off one of its busiest festivals of the year, which tends to draw even MORE visitors to the park during these months. But, if you’re planning on driving yourself, there’s one glaring change that you want to be aware of beforehand! The changes just keep coming for EPCOT, and now that we’re fully in the swing of EPCOT’s Food & Wine Festival for 2025, you might find yourself planning a couple of days to be able to experience it all. In between the food booths, festival overlay to Living With The Land, and the recent closure of Spaceship Earth for a refurbishment, there’s another big change happening right now you’ll need to take notice of. 2025 EPCOT Food & Wine Festival EPCOT is currently in the process of resurfacing parts of its massive parking lot. While this update might not directly affect where you specifically park (unless you’re parking in the accessible areas), you’ll certainly feel its trickling effects. EPCOT parking lot We noticed the Moana section of the parking lot, which is right up next to the entrance before you reach security outside the park and monorail’s gates, is currently in the process of being resurfaced and blocked off. This will allow crews the time they need to complete the update and repaint the parking space lines and walkways once again before they can let visitors park in this area. Parking lot construction If you’re someone who normally parks in this area, don’t worry — there’s another accessible parking section also towards the front of the park where you will be directed to with your accessible placard on display or acknowledged on your license plate. If you need extra space for ramps or medical equipment, make sure you let a Cast Member know so they can help park you with the space you need blocked off. Preferred parking will be located just behind the accessible parking, allowing these two groups to be parked as close to the front of the parking lot as possible. Resurfacing in progress Here’s where everyone else might feel the effects of this change. For now, since a good chunk of the parking lot is under construction, you’ll want to be more alert and more patient when parking at EPCOT. Since this is a change for those who are used to parking in the affected areas, there’s a good chance Cast Members may direct them across your stream of traffic to get them parked in the correct areas. This could mean a little extra time to get parked where you will eventually settle within the parking lot’s other parking areas, so we’d suggest allowing more time for parking and getting into the park to get on with your day’s plans. Parked machines in the morning We’re not certain how long this resurfacing of the parking lot could take, or if EPCOT plans to work on other sections of the parking lot after they’ve completed this one. However, if you’re planning on visiting over the next few weeks, we certainly think it’s a good idea to plan for this to be ongoing and leave yourself a little extra time to plan accordingly. 5. There’s a “Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow” coming to the Magic Kingdom… Carousel of Progress At the 2025 Destination D23 event, Disney shocked the fanbase with a somewhat out-of-nowhere announcement that one of the Magic Kingdom’s most legendary shows – and one of my all-time favorites over 30 years of visiting Disney theme parks – the Carousel of Progress is getting a massive refurbishment. The Carousel of Progress first debuted at the 1964 New York World’s Fair. The animatronic show used a revolutionary rotating theater to show audiences a family’s evolution through the technological evolution of the first half of the 20th century. The show was a critical and audience hit, as well as being a personal favorite of Walt Disney’s, all of which makes it unsurprising that it was moved to Disneyland (along with Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln and “it’s a small world”) following the fair’s collusion. The show remained at Disneyland until 1973, before it closed on the West Coast. The show was moved to Walt Disney World, opening in the Magic Kingdom 50 years ago in 1975. Carousel of Progress The current version of the show debuted 30 years ago in 1994. While the first three acts remain mostly unchanged, if updated slightly for the times, the finale was greatly altered, depicting the then-upcoming future of the year 2000 through the lens of 1994. John Progress Suffice to say, that 1994 ending was feeling a bit out of date circa 2025, but it seemed like Disney would never change it… until Destination D23. During a panel dedicated to Disneyland, it was announced that the Carousel of Progress was about to undergo a massive modernization that will introduce the show to an entirely new generation of fans, showing them that a great big, beautiful tomorrow is just a dream away. “ The most noteworthy addition will be a new opening scene featuring an animatronic of Walt Disney, similar to the show that currently runs in Disneyland. However, the Carousel of Progress version will be swapping Walt’s office set and suit for a costume and background more akin to Walt’s trips through the “Imagineering workshop” during episodes of the 1960s Disneyland television series. ©Disney According to Kirsten Komoroske, Executive Director of the Walt Disney Family Museum, who worked with Disney on the addition, “The introduction of a new Audio-Animatronics figure of Walt Disney in ‘Walt Disney’s Carousel of Progress’ marks an exciting milestone in our shared mission to celebrate the story of the man behind the magic and inspire new generations with his innovations and vision for the future. We appreciate the continued efforts and meticulous care that Imagineering has taken to keep Walt’s legacy alive.” The addition of the Walt sequence won’t be the only new addition, as Disney said we’ll also find out what “John, Sarah, and the rest of the family are up to,” leading many to theorize that the newly reworked show will have a brand new, more up-to-date finale. The 1994 Carousel of Progress finale Of course, those new additions that time is running out for those guests who have an affinity for the dated, but admittedly still charming in it’s way 1994 finale. So, if you’re a fan of the “Flaying Ace Grandma” animatronic, John’s voice-activated oven burning the roast, and the visage of the original E.P.C.O.T. concept art out the family room window, you probably want to get to the Magic Kingdom ASAP. The “Resident Flying Ace” is about to be grounded. Disney is refurbishing the classic Carousel of Progress, making major additions that should keep the show newly relevant for decades to come. 8. There’s technically no bad hotel at the Disneyland Resort, but that doesn’t mean some choices aren’t better than others. Pixar Place Hotel When it comes to planning a Disneyland trip, Disney adults definitely do their homework — and that includes us! Heck, we consistently put in time staying at and visiting each hotel, just so we stay up-to-date on the hotel’s latest offerings. While we’re impressed by all three Disneyland Resort hotels, there’s one in particular that may make you feel regret about booking. Though typically the cheapest option among the three Disney-owned hotels on property, Pixar Place Hotel is about to come with a noticeable caveat. Pixar Place Hotel Despite being the cheapest, you’re still paying potentially hundreds more versus staying off-site at a Good Neighbor hotel. When you’re paying on-property prices, you probably expect on-property convenience. Pixar Place Hotel is technically “on-site,” but it’s the furthest hotel from the parks. Pixar Place Hotel Right now, Pixar Place Hotel has one big perk: its own entrance into Disney California Adventure. That private access has provided a great entry point for hotel guests that drops you off right in the middle of the park next to Goofy’s Sky School. You bypass a majority of the foot traffic and the long walk. With that said, starting January 5th, 2026, this entrance will NOT be available as Disney works on new construction and projects coming to the park. Hotel guests will be funneled to the regular gates along with everyone else. No more “secret shortcut.” Pixar Place entrance in DCA closed After a long day in Disneyland or Disney California Adventure, you’ll be hiking back through Downtown Disney, past Paradise Pier, and Harbor Boulevard before reaching the hotel. Meanwhile, both the Disneyland Hotel and the Grand Californian get you way closer to the parks. The Disneyland Hotel is literally attached to Downtown Disney and a short walk from the Disneyland Monorail. The Grand Californian, which has entry points midway through the shopping district and even an entry point into Disney California Adventure that lets you into Grizzly Peak. So not only is Pixar Place the furthest away, but soon it’ll also lose the one benefit that helped justify the distance. Grand Californian Hotel Pixar Place Hotel is adorable, and we love the updated theming, colorful décor, and Pixar character nods. The prices are also way more stomachable than the other two resorts. With that said, if park day ease is your top priority, Pixar Place is at the bottom of the list. Pixar Place is cute, but cuteness won’t shorten that walk at midnight. 9. Okay, friends. We find a lot of cute merchandise, but every once in a while something comes along that makes us stop mid-scroll and yell: “I NEED THIS RIGHT NOW.” That’s exactly what happened with this new Disney hat. Let’s go shopping! We’re talking about a Winnie the Pooh Halloween Baseball Cap that is so ridiculously awesome, you’re probably going to want to wear it to every fall event, pumpkin patch, and, of course, Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission. Winnie the Pooh Halloween Baseball Cap with Plush for Adults ©Disney So here’s the deal. This isn’t just any baseball cap. This one has a miniature plush Winnie the Pooh dressed up like a little bumblebee sitting right on top of the dome. Yes, Pooh Bear in a bee costume… attached to your hat. Whoever came up with this idea deserves an Imagineering medal. ©Disney The base of the hat itself is a classic twill baseball cap, so it’s sturdy and comfortable for all-day wear. The dome features embroidered accents, bees buzzing around, and the words “Happy Hunny Ween” stitched right in. And yes, Pooh’s little bee outfit even comes with iridescent wings that shimmer in the light. ©Disney This is not subtle Disney style—it’s playful, over-the-top, and just the right amount of silly to make it amazing. If you’re the kind of person who loves a statement piece, this hat was basically made for you. Here’s the thing: Disney Halloween merchandise is always fun, but a lot of it ends up being shirts, mugs, or Loungeflys. This cap stands out because it’s something different. It’s part costume, part accessory, and part collector’s item all rolled into one. ©Disney We’re also living for the fact that Disney leaned into the “silly” side of Pooh Bear. Everyone knows he loves his honey, and the bee costume has always been one of the cutest Pooh looks. Now, instead of just seeing it in plush form, you get to wear it. It’s the kind of hat that will make people stop you in the parks to ask where you got it. And honestly? That’s half the fun. It’s whimsical, it’s fun, and it’s going to sell fast—so if you want it, don’t wait too long. 10. Disney has a lot on the horizon for its theme parks, cruise line, and more! From new lands in Disney World like Pueblo Esperanza and Piston Peak National Park, to new cruise ships joining the Disney Cruise Line fleet, there is a lot to look forward to in the coming years. Disney’s Hollywood Studios But what will be the biggest changes for Disney in 2026? We turned to the experts, and we are predicting what changes will be the most impactful in 2026. Let’s dive in! More Crowds in Disney’s Hollywood Studios There will be lots of construction happening around Disney World in 2026. There will be large construction projects in progress for Piston Peak National Park in Magic Kingdom, Monsters, Inc. Land in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Pueblo Esperanza in Disney’s Animal Kingdom. While these lands will be under construction, they aren’t expected to open in 2026. However, there is a new area in Disney’s Hollywood Studios that WILL be opening in 2026. Disney’s Hollywood Studios The Magic of Disney Animation will be replacing Star Wars: Launch Bay and be an area dedicated to celebrating the heart of Disney — animation itself. It will feature an interactive experience inside that feels like walking into the world of Disney Animation. Portraits will come to life, and you can take animation classes and explore other hands-on activities. ©Disney Millenium Falcon: Smugglers Run will also be offering a new experience. In honor of the release of The Mandalorian and Grogu on May 22nd, 2026, this attraction will be getting some updates. The ride will feature a new storyline with both the Mandalorian and Grogu, and you will be able to visit some new destinations on the ride including Bespin, Tatooine, Coruscant, and more. And for the first time ever, you will be able to choose where you go! Plus, engineers will be able to communicate with Grogu through the new mission. DONT USE THIS ONE As well, Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster is being rethemed to The Muppets and it is possible the retheme will be opening sometime in 2026. The current version of Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster starring Aerosmith will be closing down in 2026 for the retheme. However, Disney hasn’t announced an opening date for the rethemed version yet. As a result of these things, we could see Disney’s Hollywood Studios attracting more crowds as other parks of Disney World are still under construction. Rock ‘n Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets ©Disney Experience Magic Kingdom in a New Way Magic Kingdom will also be undergoing some major construction as the new Cars area, Piston Peak National Park, is being built. But 2026 will also bring some new ways to experience Magic Kingdom. For starters, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad will be reopening after a lengthy refurbishment. The ride will feature some “new magic” including “spectacular natural caverns full of phosphorescent pools, shimmering and illuminating iridescent stalagmites (the ones on the floor) and stalactites (the ones on the ceiling).” ©Disney Additionally, Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin will be reopening after refurbishment, too. The attraction is getting some MAJOR updates, including new ride vehicles, new blasters, upgraded targets, and a brand-new character. Closed for Refurbishment As well, Carousel of Progress will be getting some updates! Disney hasn’t announced when these updates will debut, but it is a possibility that we will be able to see the new show in 2026. The updated Carousel of Progress will have a new opening scene and will feature an animatronic of Walt Disney! ©Disney Finally, Cinderella Castle is getting a makeover! The iconic castle will be returning to its classic color palette of blues, grays, creams, and gold accents. This will replace the current light pink paint that was put on the castle for Disney World’s 50th Anniversary. Could this possibly mean the return of the Castle Dream Lights or maybe a new fireworks show? Disney hasn’t announced anything beyond the new paint colors, but we are good at dreaming! ©Disney Less Disney World Crowds? While there is still plenty of things to do in Disney World in 2026, and as you can see above, lots of new experiences, there will still be A LOT under construction. Some of Disney’s projects and expansions won’t be opening in 2026, so we could see that some families might delay their Disney World trip until more of the new experiences are open. Walls near the Haunted Mansion in Magic Kingdom For example, construction has already begun on Piston Peak National Park, Pueblo Esperanza, and the new Monsters, Inc. Land, but they are not expected to open in 2026. Crowds could be lower because a lot of things are under construction and won’t be opening until later. Are the parks going to be empty? Not at all, but we could see some trips being postponed until more new areas are open. More to Experience on Disney Cruise Line Disney Cruise Line is already comprised of five ships, but there is about to be even more ways to experience a Disney cruise! Disney Cruise Line is adding TWO brand-new ships, the Disney Destiny and the Disney Adventure. Disney Treasure Cruise Ship These new ships will provide even more opportunities for memories. The Disney Destiny will be setting sail on November 20th, 2025, and the Disney Adventure will be setting sail on December 15th, 2025. And Disney has already announced that the fleet will expand to 13 ships by 2031. So, there is no shortage of options when it comes to cruising with Disney Cruise Line! New Experiences at Disneyland Paris 2026 is a BIG year Disneyland Paris Resort. For starters, the World of Frozen will be opening in spring 2026, and that will also mark the transformation of Walt Disney Studios into Disney Adventure World. World of Frozen ©Disney Disney Adventure World invites visitors to step into the adventures of some of Disney’s most iconic movies. The park will feature World of Frozen, a new Lion King land, an attraction themed to Up, Raiponce Tangled Spin, a new restaurant, and more. ©Disney These are some of the biggest changes we predict for Disney in 2026. 12. Labor Day Weekend has officially arrived in Disney World, and these holiday weekends are usually full of lots of high wait times and crowds. Happy Labor Day! We’ve been watching wait times over the past two days to see just what crowds are really looking like, but to our surprise, the actual crowds inside EPCOT were very different than what we expected. We were expecting to see crowds wall to wall, but instead…we’ve been left wondering WHERE everyone is? We walked into EPCOT around 10:30 AM and were shocked to find that crowds were…essentially nonexistent. Sooo…where is everyone? We thought perhaps they were deeper in the park since it was past rope drop time, so we headed to the back of Spaceship Earth. As it turns out, this area of the park was…also pretty much empty. Oh…. Now, we will admit that there aren’t any rides in this area right now since Spaceship Earth is closed, and as we got closer to Creations Shop, which is pretty close to Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, we did start to see some more people. Alright, we’ve found some people! Overall, we did spot some heavier crowds over near attractions, and we had a feeling a lot of folks were down in World Showcase preparing for the Food and Wine Festival booths to open, but even still, crowds felt way lighter than we expected. Some more people! It’s possible that these crowds are lighter due to the fact that many kids start back school right after Labor Day, and people use Labor Day as their travel day instead of being in the parks. Much emptier than we expected Looking for more recent EPCOT news? Check out our posts below! More Recent EPCOT News! 13. Disney is no stranger to big changes, and 2026 is already shaping up to be another year of massive shifts across the parks and resorts. Welcome to Disney World! From attractions being re-themed to entire lands closing, from new ships on the seas to price changes that will impact your vacation budget, there’s a lot to track. To help you plan ahead, we’ve rounded up the 20 biggest Disney changes that are officially confirmed for 2026 — and broken down exactly how each one will impact your trip. 1. A Muppets Rollercoaster Takeover Hollywood Studios fans already know that Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster has been long overdue for a change, and now it’s official. In 2026, the ride will reopen as a brand-new Muppets-themed rollercoaster. ©Disney The re-theme will swap out Aerosmith’s rock concert storyline for a full-on Muppets music festival, complete with appearances from Kermit, Miss Piggy, Gonzo, and even celebrity guest stars. Instead of speeding to a concert backstage, you’ll find yourself racing through a chaotic mash-up of musical genres, Muppets-style. ©Disney What this means for your trip: Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster will be closing at some point in 2026 (most likely early 2026), so that they will have enough time to prepare for the ride to re-open in late 2026 (by our best guess). Expect long wait times and likely a Lightning Lane Multi Pass option when it debuts. If you’re a fan of the original Aerosmith theme, make sure to get a last ride in before the end of 2025 or early 2026 at the latest. 2. “Kitty Has To Go Home” — Monsters, Inc. Ride Closure Over at Disney California Adventure, Monsters, Inc. Mike & Sulley to the Rescue will close permanently in early 2026. The entire Hollywood Backlot area is being cleared out to make way for a new Avatar Land inspired by the film sequels. ©Disney This means one of DCA’s most family-friendly dark rides will disappear. While it’s a tough goodbye for fans of Monstropolis, the trade-off is an ambitious new land that will bring new technology and immersive environments. Mike and Sulley to the Rescue! What this means for your trip: If Monsters, Inc. is a must-do for your family, you’ll want to ride it before the end of 2025. Once construction begins, that entire section of the park will be walled off, so expect fewer attractions in that corner for a few years. 3. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad Returns At Magic Kingdom, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad has been down for an extended refurbishment throughout 2025. Disney has confirmed that the coaster will reopen in 2026 with updated track work, refreshed effects, and new ride vehicles. Work continues on Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. While Disney hasn’t revealed all the details, the company has hinted at “a little bit of new magic.” This could mean updated story elements or enhanced effects similar to what Disneyland Paris received in its Thunder Mountain upgrade. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad What this means for your trip: Frontierland will feel complete again in 2026 once this major coaster reopens. Expect heavy crowds during reopening weeks, especially since this is one of the park’s most popular rides. 4. New Mission for Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run Hollywood Studios’ Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run is getting its first big storyline update since opening. To tie in with the May 2026 release of The Mandalorian and Grogu, the attraction will feature brand-new missions and destinations. ©Disney For the first time, guests will be able to choose which planet they want to visit — including Bespin, Tatooine, and others. The new missions will also feature appearances from Din Djarin and Grogu, and the engineer role will get an interactive upgrade where players “talk” to Grogu during the ride. ©Disney What this means for your trip: If you’ve flown the Falcon before, this update will make the ride worth revisiting in 2026. Expect a surge of interest, so Lightning Lane availability will likely book fast. 5. Goodbye Dinoland, Hello Pueblo Esperanza At Animal Kingdom, 2026 will mark the official closure of Dinoland U.S.A. The land will be re-themed into Pueblo Esperanza, a new Tropical Americas area featuring Encanto and Indiana Jones. The new town Esperanza will be situated in Tropical Americas land coming to Disney’s Animal Kingdom. The town features classic Spanish-style architecture in the heart of the rainforest. The Dinosaur ride will close at some point in 2026 to be transformed into an Indiana Jones adventure, while new Encanto-themed experiences will take over Chester & Hester’s section. This marks the end of an era for DinoLand, which has been shrinking for years. Construction What this means for your trip: 2026 will be a transition year. Construction walls will dominate this part of the park, so expect limited offerings until Pueblo Esperanza fully opens. Plan to spend more time in Pandora or Africa during your visit. 6. A Temporary Skyliner Closure The Disney Skyliner gondola system will undergo maintenance from January 25th–31st, 2026. This means no direct access between EPCOT, Hollywood Studios, and the Skyliner resorts during that week. Skyliner Disney will provide bus transportation instead, but travel times will be longer and buses will be more crowded than usual. Disney Skyliner What this means for your trip: If you’re staying at Pop Century, Art of Animation, Caribbean Beach, or Riviera Resort during this week, be prepared to adjust your transportation plans. 7. Big Hotel Refurbishments Continue Several Disney World hotels will still be in various stages of refurbishment in 2026: Bay Lake Tower refurbishments continue through July 2026. Polynesian Villas are getting updated through spring 2026. Pop Century room refurbishments should wrap up by mid-February 2026. Bay Lake Tower What this means for your trip: Construction noise, limited amenities, and blocked-off areas may affect your stay. If these resorts are on your list, check the timing carefully before booking. 8. Pool Closures at Select Resorts Two major resort pools will also be closed during part of 2026: Surfboard Bay Pool at All-Star Sports will be closed from January–April 2026. Bay Cove Pool at Bay Lake Tower will be closed January–May 2026. Surfboard Bay Pool What this means for your trip: Guests will still have access to alternate pools at each resort, but the main feature pools will be unavailable. If a big themed pool is important to your trip, consider booking elsewhere during these months. 9. Disneyland Paris Becomes Disney Adventure World Walt Disney Studios Park in Paris will officially transform into Disney Adventure World in 2026. This massive project includes: A Lion King flume ride An Up-themed swinging attraction A Rapunzel spinner ride A brand-new Frozen land with a major E-ticket attraction ©Disney What this means for your trip: If you’re visiting Disneyland Paris, this will be the park’s biggest expansion since it opened. However, expect high demand and crowds when it debuts. 10. Ticket Price Increases Disney has confirmed that ticket prices will rise in 2026, with more dates falling at the higher $169 level. Dining Plan prices will also see a small bump. What this means for your trip: Budget a little extra for your vacation. If you’re on the fence, consider locking in a 2025 package before the new rates take effect. 11. Kids Eat Free Deal To offset the rising costs, Disney is bringing back a Kids Eat Free promotion for 2026. Children ages 3–9 will get free dining when booked as part of a vacation package. What this means for your trip: Families with young kids will save the most here. Availability is limited, so it’s best to book early if you want to use this offer. 12. Zootopia Show at Animal Kingdom Animal Kingdom’s Tree of Life Theater will officially debut Zootopia: Better Zoogether on November 7th, 2025. This brand-new show will highlight the biomes from the movie — like the snowy tundra, the desert, and of course, the city of Zootopia — as guests learn more about animals in a playful, immersive way. “Zootopia: Better Zoogether!” ©Disney While the attraction technically opens at the end of 2025, it’s going to be one of the freshest changes heading into 2026, which means crowds will still be high well into the new year. If you’re planning a 2026 trip, expect longer wait times for this one, especially during holiday weekends. 13. Beak and Barrel Pirate Pub As of August 29th, 2025, Adventureland’s newest lounge, The Beak and Barrel, is officially open and ready to welcome guests into the world of Pirates of the Caribbean. The Beak and Barrel This lively pirate-themed tavern, established by the legendary Captain Meridian “Merry” Goldwyn and her first mate Rummy, features immersive spaces like The Mess, with long tables and a skull-adorned bar, the intimate Captain’s Quarters filled with pirate lore and hand-carved booths, and the adventurous Mapmaker’s Room, accessible through a cannon-blasted wall. Guests can enjoy family-friendly eats like Island Provisions and Cook’s Corn Griddle Cakes, as well as signature cocktails and specialty drinks for adults, including the Plunderer’s Punch served in a souvenir pirate skull mug. Inside Even heading into 2026, Beak & Barrel remains a must-visit spot for Magic Kingdom guests thanks to its combination of immersive storytelling, interactive surprises, and unique themed drinks and merchandise. Whether you’re grabbing a refreshing cocktail, exploring pirate-inspired rooms, or snagging Rummy-themed souvenirs, it’s a lounge experience that brings the Pirates of the Caribbean world to life and keeps guests coming back for new adventures in Adventureland. 14. Two New Disney Cruise Ships The Disney Destiny and Disney Adventure ships will both be sailing by 2026. The Destiny will feature a heroes-and-villains theme, while the Adventure will sail out of Singapore with attractions like an Iron Man roller coaster. The upcoming Disney Destiny Cruise ship What this means for your trip: Cruise fans will have two entirely new ships to explore, expanding itineraries in both the Caribbean and Asia. 15. Free Water Park Days Return Summer 2026 will bring back the free water park day perk for Disney resort guests. On your check-in day, you’ll be able to visit Blizzard Beach or Typhoon Lagoon at no extra cost. Blizzard Beach What this means for your trip: If you’re staying during summer, plan to arrive early enough to take advantage of the free entry. 16. Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin Refurb Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin closes in late 2025 for updates and will reopen in 2026 with new blasters, upgraded interactive targets, and a new robot sidekick named Buddy. ©Disney What this means for your trip: Expect the ride to feel much fresher and more interactive in 2026, especially for younger guests. 17. Anniversary Celebrations End Two major anniversaries will wrap up in 2026: Disneyland’s 70th anniversary Hong Kong Disneyland’s 20th anniversary It’s so cute What this means for your trip: If you want the limited-time parades, shows, or merchandise tied to these milestones, you’ll need to visit before summer 2026. 18. After Hours Returns to Magic Kingdom Disney has confirmed that After Hours events will return in 2026. These limited-capacity, late-night events offer short waits, free snacks, and cooler nighttime weather. Magic Kingdom After Hours What this means for your trip: If avoiding crowds is a priority, After Hours tickets can be worth the splurge. 19. New Disney Cruise Destinations In 2026, the Disney Magic will sail new Alaskan itineraries, and the Disney Dream will add Sardinia, Italy to its Mediterranean cruises. ©Disney What this means for your trip: Cruise fans will have new destinations to explore without needing brand-new ships. 20. More Cruise-Themed Parties Finally, Disney Cruise Line will expand its themed days at sea. Marvel Day at Sea will sail from Galveston, Texas, in January 2026, and Pixar Day at Sea will return on select Fantasy sailings. Marvel Day at Sea ©Disney What this means for your trip: These themed days offer exclusive entertainment, menus, and meet-and-greets. If you’re a fan of either franchise, booking around these dates makes your cruise extra special. The Bottom Line From massive park overhauls to cruise line expansions, Disney has already locked in 20 major changes for 2026. Whether it’s saying goodbye to long-loved rides or welcoming brand-new lands, it’s clear that next year will be another transition-heavy season for Disney fans. The key takeaway? Plan ahead. Double-check ride closures, hotel refurbishments, and pricing changes when booking your 2026 vacation. That way, you can avoid surprises and make the most of all the new experiences waiting for you. 14. Snagging a reservation at Disney World can feel like the ultimate treasure hunt. The Beak and Barrel Disney’s newest lounge — The Beak and Barrel in Magic Kingdom’s Adventureland — just opened on August 29th, 2025, and guests are already clamoring to get inside. With its pirate backstory, interactive atmosphere, and specialty menu, this spot is one of the hottest reservations in the parks right now. If you’re trying to figure out how to score a table, we’ve got you covered with the best strategies, tips, and tricks. Let’s break down everything you need to know so you can step inside this pirate hideout. Know the Basics First The Beak and Barrel is a themed lounge inspired by Pirates of the Caribbean, complete with multiple rooms, colorful characters, and a rum-loving parrot named Rummy who keeps watch over the tavern. Disney has set a 45-minute time limit for each reservation, and there’s a two-drink maximum per adult. The Beak and Barrel Advance Dining Reservations (ADRs) are strongly encouraged, and honestly, you’ll need one if you want to get in. The space is small and incredibly popular, so walking up without a reservation is very hit-or-miss. At the moment, reservations are completely booked through October, but cancellations do happen. That’s where strategy comes in. When Can You Book? Just like any other table service dining experience at Disney World, reservations for The Beak and Barrel open 60 days in advance. If you’re staying at a Disney World hotel, you can book for your entire trip (up to 10 days) starting 60 days before your check-in date. That means on your booking day, you might be able to grab dates that are actually further out than 60 days. ©Disney This gives on-property guests a huge advantage, because they’ll often scoop up the earliest spots before off-site guests even get a chance. If you really want to lock in this reservation, consider booking a Disney World resort stay. The Best Time of Day to Book Reservations open online at 6AM EST sharp on the Disney World website and in the My Disney Experience app. We actually recommend you start trying around 5:45AM EST, since sometimes slots load a little earlier. ©Disney Set your alarm, grab some coffee, and get ready to refresh like your vacation depends on it. When you log in, make sure you’re already signed into your Disney account with your payment method saved — that will save you precious seconds once the clock hits six. How to Book Online Go to the Disney World website or open the My Disney Experience app. Select “Make a Reservation” under the “Things To Do” tab. Enter your party size. Choose your dates (remember, you can select up to 10 days if you’re staying at a Disney World hotel). Select “Magic Kingdom” as your destination to filter results. Scroll through available times and grab the first slot you see for The Beak and Barrel. Select up to 10 days of availability ©Disney Once you click, you’ll be prompted to enter any dietary needs, add-ons, and your credit card to hold the reservation. You’ll get an email confirmation, and the reservation will show up in your My Disney Experience account. Other Ways to Book Phone: You can call 407-WDW-DINE starting at 7AM EST, though this method is slower and less reliable. App: If you’re on the go, the My Disney Experience app works almost identically to the website. Some guests find it faster to use the app, especially when Wi-Fi is spotty. My Disney Experience app screenshot What If You Miss Out? Don’t panic if you don’t see anything available right away. Disney reservations are constantly changing as guests tweak their plans. Here are some backup strategies: Check daily. People cancel often, especially as their trip gets closer. Same-day drops. On the day of your visit, check the app first thing in the morning. Last-minute spots sometimes pop up. Visit the host stand. It’s not guaranteed, but cast members sometimes have availability due to no-shows or late cancellations. The Beak and Barrel! We’ve seen guests score a Beak and Barrel reservation just hours before stepping inside, so persistence pays off. Keep the Rules in Mind Even if you manage to get inside, Disney wants to keep the lounge moving so more guests can enjoy it. Remember: You’ll have 45 minutes total for your visit. Each adult can order a maximum of two drinks. Siren’s Whisper The experience is immersive, with sing-alongs, storytelling, and plenty of interactive touches, so make the most of the time you do have. Why It’s Worth the Effort The Beak and Barrel isn’t just another lounge — it’s part show, part dining experience, and part hidden treasure. From the enchanted rum bottle gifted by Tia Dalma to the lively antics of Rummy, this is the kind of Disney detail fans will be talking about for years. Pair that with a specialty cocktail like the Salty Seas mARRRgarita or a Kraken’s Catch from the food menu, and you’ll see why it’s such a hot ticket. Kraken’s Catch If you’re the type of Disney guest who loves themed dining experiences like Oga’s Cantina or Trader Sam’s, this is going to be right up your alley. Final Thoughts Getting a reservation for The Beak and Barrel is tough, but not impossible if you plan ahead and stay persistent. Start early, use your 60-day booking window wisely, and keep checking for cancellations. And if all else fails, try your luck with a same-day drop or swing by the host stand in Adventureland. The Beak and Barrel This lounge is already proving to be one of the most popular new additions in Magic Kingdom, and the immersive storytelling makes the effort to secure a spot completely worth it. Until then, be sure to stay tuned to the Disney Food Blog! FULL REVIEW of The Beak and Barrel in Magic Kingdom Join the DFB Newsletter to get all the breaking news right in your inbox! 15. We’ve got fantastic news out of Disney World — EPCOT, to be more specific! Our new favorite sipper is HERE! Already this year we’ve seen some pretty amazing Halloween merchandise, but there’s one sipper we’ve been waiting for what feels like FOREVER to find in Disney World. That day has finally come, but you’ll want to grab it ASAP since we have a feeling it’ll sell out fast — the Pluto Skeleton Sipper has arrived! Disney announced last month that the Pluto Skeleton Halloween Sipper would be available in all four Disney World parks, but we’ve only just started to see it today. There is a limit of two per person, per transaction, in attempt to avoid people reselling them online for a higher price. We’d previously seen it land in Disneyland, and now we’re so stoked it’s finally on the East Coast! Pluto Skeleton Halloween Sipper We grabbed ours at Connections Eatery for $18.78, and the best part? We were able to Mobile Order ours, which saved us a ton of time since we didn’t have to wait in line! He’s so cute! To refill Pluto, you’ll need to pop out the back of the top of his head, right where the straw is. We love that the straw also flips down, so that way it’s less likely to get all germ-infested from being around the parks. The straw! We have a feeling these will start to sell out pretty quick all over the parks, so be sure to grab it ASAP wherever you see it. More Recent Halloween News! 16. According to the Orlando Sentinel, Royal Caribbean has A LOT planned for its future! Royal Caribbean has planned new ships and destination openings as far out as 2028, and they recently shared some of their plans during a media sailing on the Star of the Seas. Royal Caribbean — Enchantment of the Seas (Left) and Mariner of the Seas (Right) Star of the Seas is the newest ship in Royal Caribbean’s Icon class (Icon of the Seas was the first ship in this class). Legend of the Seas will be joining the lineup in 2026, which was previously announced by Royal Caribbean. But Royal Caribbean talked a lot about its future plans on this media sailing, and we have all the details for you! Royal Caribbean is also working on the fourth Icon class ship, which is currently under construction. This brand-new ship will feature new activities and features, and it is expected to debut in 2027. It is possible there will also be a fifth and sixth ship in the Icon-class. ©Royal Caribbean Additionally, Royal Caribbean is also expanding its Oasis class. Utopia of the Seas has been a success, with 3- and 4-night trips departing from Port Canaveral. Utopia of the Seas is the sixth ship in the Oasis class, and Royal Caribbean has already committed to the name and enchantments that will be coming with the seventh ship of this class. Royal Caribbean also confirmed that it will be developing a smaller class of ships than the Icon class. These ships will be a part of the Discovery Series. Royal Caribbean Cruise Ships That is not all that Royal Caribbean has planned for the future, though. The first of Royal Caribbean’s beach clubs will open this fall in Nassau. Cruisers will be able to book day passes for the Royal Beach Club Paradise Island. The beach clubs are located in high-volume ports and feature three neighborhoods for guests to enjoy. One area will be designated for families, one for partying, and one for chilling. There will be beaches, pools, swim-up bars, and beach grills. The first beach club is located in Nassau, and another location will be opening in Cozumel, Mexico in 2026 and another one in Lelepa in 2027. ©Royal Caribbean Finally, Royal Caribbean is also on track to open Perfect Day Mexico in the fall of 2027. This will be a private enclave that will have double the amount of guest-facing space as Perfect Day at CocoCay currently offers guests. Perfect Day Mexico will feature the Loco Waterpark, which has 31 slides. There will be seven major neighborhoods and the world’s longest lazy river. ©Royal Caribbean Stay tuned to DFB for more cruise news! 17. Disney World has some unusual rules, but this one about food might surprise you. Corn Dog Nuggets! You probably know that Disney allows guests to bring in their own snacks and small meals, which can be a big money-saver during a park day. What you might not know, though, is that there are specific restrictions on the types of food you’re allowed to pack. And yes, one of those restrictions involves what Disney calls “pungent foods.” Let’s break down what this actually means for your trip. Why Smells Matter at Disney If you’ve ever walked down Main Street, U.S.A. and immediately caught a whiff of warm vanilla sugar from the bakery or that buttery popcorn scent drifting across a hub grass picnic, you’ve already experienced Disney’s obsession with smell. Those aren’t accidents — Disney actually pumps artificial scents through “smellitzer” machines to make the atmosphere feel even more immersive. Main Street Bakery Smells play a big part in the storytelling of attractions, too. Journey Into Imagination with Figment famously blasts you with a burst of skunk spray. The Pirates of the Caribbean water has that iconic musty scent. And Magic Kingdom has a Smellephants on Parade scavenger hunt, where kids can sniff their way through different carnival-inspired aromas. SMELLEPHANTS!!! Basically, Disney is curating what your nose experiences at almost every turn. Which is why outside food smells are a bigger deal than you might expect. The Rules for Bringing Food Into Disney World Here’s the good news: Disney absolutely allows you to bring your own food into the parks. This is a lifesaver if you’re trying to save money on meals, keep picky eaters happy, or just want to make sure you have a snack on hand without waiting in line. Uncrustables But there are rules. According to Disney’s official guidelines, guests may not bring in: Outside alcohol Food or drinks in glass containers (with the exception of baby food in jars) Anything that requires heating, reheating, refrigeration, or processing And here’s the kicker — “pungent foods” Yes, Disney has a ban on smelly foods. What Counts as “Pungent”? This is where it gets a little fuzzy. Disney World’s website doesn’t give examples of what exactly they consider “too smelly” for the parks. But Hong Kong Disneyland has a nearly identical food policy, and their website does expand on it a bit. According to their list, you’ll want to avoid things like: Stinky tofu Strong smelling cheese Strong smelling fish or seafood in general Deep fried tofu with white miso soup The best way to think about it: If you open your lunchbox and the smell immediately wafts through the air in a way strangers around you can’t ignore, that’s not going to fly at Disney World. So yes, you might feel a little silly being told that you can’t bring tuna salad into the park when Figment gets away with skunk clouds. But remember, Disney is protecting the very smells they’ve worked so hard to design into the park experience. What You Should Bring Instead If you’re still worried about what Disney might consider too pungent, don’t be. The list of safe foods is much, much longer. In fact, most standard picnic-style snacks are totally fine. Lay’s Chips Some guest-approved options include: Fresh fruit Bags of chips PB&J or turkey sandwiches Trail mix Crackers and granola bars Even beef jerky (which can smell a little strong, but apparently not strong enough to break Disney’s rules) Uncrustables Basically, if you’d be okay eating it in a quiet library without turning heads, it’s probably safe to bring along. One More Step Before Security There’s one other detail worth mentioning: if you’re bringing in outside food, you’ll want to let a security Cast Member know when you pass through bag check. Most of the time, your snacks won’t be an issue at all. But if security notices something questionable, they’ll let you know right there and take it off your hands. Disney World Security That’s way better than risking having your food tossed after you’ve already hauled it all the way to the park entrance. Why This Rule Matters It might feel strange to think Disney cares so much about whether your lunch smells like blue cheese, but this is just one of those quirky park rules you’ll want to be prepared for. After all, Disney’s entire goal is to control the sensory experience in their parks, and smell is a surprisingly big part of that. So go ahead and pack your own food to save money and time — just make sure it won’t send a wave of odor rolling through the Dumbo line. Stay tuned to DFB for all your Disney World news! 18. In case you missed it, Cinderella Castle in Magic Kingdom is getting a new paint job! The pink is fading away, and blues, grays, and gold accents are making a comeback, with fans showing almost nothing but praise for the original colors returning. ©Disney The colors changed shortly before Disney World’s 50th anniversary, and while the 50th medallion was taken down after the celebration, the colors remained the same, with pinks that some people said reminded them of the Sleeping Beauty castle at Disneyland. Now that the colors are changing, what are the benefits? One of our team members’ parents, who has a professional background in projection mapping, shared a little secret with us: the best color to project designs on is gray, so the projections should pop a lot more than the pink did. Happily Ever After What is projection mapping? When you’re watching Happily Ever After, the fireworks show in Magic Kingdom, we always recommend trying to get a spot where you can see the front of the castle instead of just looking up at the actual fireworks. Disney projects tons of designs onto the walls of the castle, which help bring different storylines to life. Dreams can come true… There are iconic moments like the balloons from Up flying up the castle, and when the floating lanterns from Tangled cover the sides. It truly takes a normal fireworks show to the next level, and we see this for the fireworks shows for Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party and Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, too. You might even see some elements being used during the stage shows if they’re at night. Magic Kingdom With the original color scheme coming back, the projection should be even clearer and easier to see since it’s shown on a more basic color, versus the pink. Even though they look incredible now, we are pretty thrilled to see the differences when the colors come back. Cinderella Castle 2019 Now, if only we could convince Disney to bring back the Christmas lights on the castle! We miss these lights! We’ll be ready to show you all the differences once the walls are painted, but in the meantime, make sure to follow the Disney Food Blog for more Disney news. 20. A scary incident at a popular U.S. theme park fortunately resulted in a happy ending. ©Hershey Park According to multiple reports, a young boy was in serious peril after walking along a monorail track at Pennsylvania’s Hersheypark on Saturday, August 30th, 2025. The incident was caught on video and went viral. Fortunately, the boy was saved, albeit after a terrifying scene. The video shared to social media depicts a child — who was reported missing around 5 PM ET — walking along the track of the Capital BlueCross Monorail attraction at least 20 feet off the ground. As the staff was searching for the child, the boy wandered into a closed area and onto the ride’s track. The monorail was not in operation that day and was “safeguarded by a chained closure at the entrance and barricaded turnstile at the platform,” per a spokesperson for Hershey Entertainment & Resorts. Staff immediately responded to the area after the boy was seen, and onlookers could be heard screaming and urging the child to follow a path that would get him off the monorail. When the child seemed confused and stopped, an onlooker climbed the roof of a nearby structure, got onto the monorail, and was able to corral the boy and take him to safety. ©Hershey Entertainment & Resorts Company The child was not harmed and was reunited with his family. The company said, “We are grateful for the vigilance of our guests and the swift response of our team, and we remain committed to maintaining the highest levels of guest safety throughout Hersheypark.” This is just the latest incident to happen at Hersheypark. 21. It’s officially hurricane season, and while many storms don’t end up hitting Orlando, or others spin themselves out in the ocean before ever hitting land, it’s always good to keep an eye on the storms so you know what’s going on. Magic Kingdom entrance the day after Hurricane Milton Hurricanes or tropical storms can really affect your Disney World or Universal trip, so we keep our eyes on all the latest storm news to keep you in the know. If you’ve got a trip coming up in the next two weeks, we’ve got the most recent update on a current system being watched in the Atlantic ocean. In seven days, the current track of this wave would still keep it out in the ocean, but it’s possible that the path can change at any time. If you’ve got a trip coming up in the next week, this potential depression won’t affect your trip, as it’ll still be far out, but it’s possible another could develop closer to land in the next week. ©National Hurricane Center While the weather doesn’t typically get close to Disney World and Universal parks, we have seen it happen before when a hurricane is set to pass directly over Orlando. If you know you’ll be traveling during hurricane season (June 1st-November 30th), it’s usually a good idea to get travel insurance, just to ensure that if your trip were to be canceled or negatively affected during a storm, you’ll be covered. 22. A big Lightning Lane Multi Pass (LLMP) update is coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Disney’s Hollywood Studios Disney has officially confirmed that The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure is finally getting Lightning Lane access. If you’ve walked by the theater since the show opened, you may have noticed the separate Lightning Lane entrance sitting unused. That’s about to change. Starting September 11th, 2025, guests will be able to book this brand-new show through the LLMP system. Let’s dive into the details so you can plan ahead. The agents at Small World Vacations know how to save money on your Disney Vacation! When you book your trip with Small World Vacations, their experienced agents monitor your reservation for possible future savings. They also compare discounts and figure out which one works best for your travel party, dates, resort, and touring plans. And they share expert tips and first-hand advice with you about your magical vacation. Lightning Lane Multi Pass Basics Disney World’s Lightning Lane system allows you to bypass the standby line at select attractions by reserving return windows through the My Disney Experience app. It’s designed to save time, keep you out of long lines, and give you more flexibility in your park day. Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway Lightning Lane Hollywood Studios in particular is known for being one of the busiest parks with some of the longest waits. Between thrill rides like Tower of Terror and Slinky Dog Dash to massive crowd-pullers like Rise of the Resistance, it can be tough to fit it all in without some strategic planning. That’s why LLMP is such a helpful tool. The Little Mermaid Joins the LLMP Lineup When Disney announced the return of a Little Mermaid stage show, fans were excited to see what a refreshed version would bring. With updated sets, new effects, and timeless music, The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure has been a popular addition since its debut. But until now, guests only had one way to experience it: wait in the standby line. The Little Mermaid — A Musical Adventure That changes on September 11th, 2025. Starting on that date, the show officially becomes available as an LLMP Tier 2 option, meaning guests can book it in advance as part of their Multi Pass selections. The Full LLMP List at Hollywood Studios To help you map out your strategy, here’s a reminder of how the Lightning Lane Multi Pass works at Hollywood Studios: Guests may choose ONE attraction from the following Tier 1 options: Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith Slinky Dog Dash Guests may choose TWO attractions (or all three) from the following Tier 2 options: Alien Swirling Saucers Beauty and the Beast — Live on Stage For the First Time in Forever: A Frozen Sing-Along Celebration Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular Star Tours The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror Toy Story Mania! The Little Mermaid — A Musical Adventure (available beginning September 11th, 2025) Why This Update Matters Adding The Little Mermaid show to the LLMP lineup is a smart move for guests who want a balance of thrill rides and family-friendly entertainment. The show is indoors, air-conditioned, and offers an easy break from the hustle of the park while still delivering great storytelling. For families with kids (or anyone who loves the music), this is a must-see. The theatre! It also means you can better spread out your LLMP selections. Instead of only choosing between thrill rides and stunt shows, you now have another entertainment-heavy option that can help anchor your day. Planning Tips for Your Next Visit If you’re visiting Hollywood Studios after September 11th, consider making The Little Mermaid part of your LLMP picks, especially if you’re traveling with little ones or want to guarantee a seat without waiting in the standby line. Slinky Dog Lightning Lane Here’s one possible strategy: Pick Slinky Dog Dash or Runaway Railway as your Tier 1 choice. Select The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure and Toy Story Mania! (or another favorite) as your Tier 2 options. Use your LLMP windows strategically so you have time to catch other shows like Indiana Jones or Frozen Sing-Along in between. This way, you’re hitting a mix of headliners and shows while still keeping downtime low. The Bottom Line Disney’s decision to finally activate the Lightning Lane Multi Pass entrance for The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure gives guests one more way to structure their day at Hollywood Studios. Beginning September 11th, this new Tier 2 option will make it easier to enjoy the show without sacrificing time in the rest of the park. Who wants to see the new show? With fall crowds and Halloween festivities ramping up across Disney World, having a smart LLMP strategy is more important than ever. Now Ariel and her friends can be part of that plan. 24. If you’re planning to visit a Disney World Resort, you’ll want to know your transportation options in advance! Riviera Resort There’s the extensive free bus system that travels to nearly every location on property, or the Disney Skyliner that visits a few hotels in addition to EPCOT and Hollywood Studios. You might even be able to use the Friendship boats or the Monorail, depending on where you’re visiting. But every Disney World Resort has its own parking lot…you just might not be able to use it! One fun — and completely free — activity to do on your free day during your Disney World vacation is resort hopping! There are quite literally dozens of hotels on Disney World property, each with its own distinct theme, dining options, and offerings to explore. Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort With so much to see, it’s easy to fill up your off day from the parks with a resort grand tour. And if you’re stopping by during the winter and holiday season, there are bonus reasons to visit the hotels! Each resort decorates for Christmas in spectacular fashion, and some even have special displays. Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge Christmas Tree Several of the Deluxe Resorts are home to creative gingerbread displays that fans love to check out. From live-size cottages to working carousels to gingerbread giraffes, they’re pretty big tourist attractions. But if you’re hoping to stop by and check them out, there’s a transportation rule you can’t ignore. Gingerbread BoardWalk Deli If you’re heading to one of Disney World’s Deluxe Resorts, you won’t be allowed to park your car there unless you have a confirmed hotel reservation or a confirmed dining reservation. So for those just stopping by to explore, you’ll need to find another way to get to that hotel. If you try to park without a valid reason, they’ll turn you away at the gate. Disney’s Contemporary Resort So what are your options instead? The best methods are to park either at Disney Springs for free, or park at one of the theme parks, then take transportation from there. If you’re coming from Disney Springs, there are buses to all the resorts, as well as boat transportation to Saratoga Springs, Old Key West, and both Port Orleans Resorts. Saratoga Springs Water Taxi If you park at one of the theme parks, you’ll have to pay to park (unless you’re an Annual Passholder or you’re staying on Disney property already), but the options for transportation are broader. Magic Kingdom’s parking lot has easy access to the Monorail, which connects to the Contemporary, Grand Floridian, and Polynesian Village Resorts. Monorail at the Contemporary Resort Parking at Hollywood Studios may give you the most bang for your buck, though, because not only does this park have a bus station with access to many resorts and other parks, but it’s also home to a Skyliner station and a Friendship Boat dock. The Skyliner will take you to the Riviera, Caribbean Beach, Pop Century, and Art of Animation Resorts, as well as the back entrance of EPCOT. Skyliner Station at Hollywood Studios If you hop on the Friendship Boat at Hollywood Studios, you can take a ride along Crescent Lake through the EPCOT Resort area. The boat will stop at the Swan and Dolphin Resort, the BoardWalk, and the Yacht and Beach Club Resorts before docking at the back International Gateway entrance of EPCOT (if you wanted to, you could get on the Skyliner there and go back to Hollywood Studios, or you can simply take the boat back again). International Gateway Friendship Boat Parking at Animal Kingdom won’t give you much advantage when it comes to getting to a hotel, because it’s the furthest park from most of the hotels (except for Coronado Springs Resort, the All-Star Resorts, and Animal Kingdom Lodge), and it only offers bus transportation. However, the main warning I’m going to give you is to beware of parking at EPCOT with the hope of visiting hotels. Inside a Disney Bus Many people park at EPCOT, thinking that they can easily get to the EPCOT Resort area or to the Skyliner or Friendship Boats. However, the important thing to know is that the parking lot is at the FRONT of the park, while the Skyliner, Friendship Boats, and hotels are located by the back entrance of the park — at International Gateway. EPCOT is the only theme park that has a back entrance, so this can be very confusing for guests who are resort hopping. EPCOT parking Basically, if you tried to park at EPCOT to access those other forms of transportation, you’ll have to walk through the park to get to them. The only form of transportation you can access from the front of the park is the buses. EPCOT bus depot So that’s the rundown on how to get to the Disney World Resorts this winter! We’ll make sure to keep you updated on all the holiday decor and offerings as they arrive in a few months. Stay tuned to DFB for more tips on how to tackle Disney World! Villains Land Closer Look Research While we didn’t receive massive news about the new land coming to Magic Kingdom, we did learn more about Disney’s research trip, where they gained inspiration for the land. They focused on architectural details that bring in a spooky, spellbinding look. World of Frozen Opening Date ©Disney In Disneyland Paris, Disney has confirmed that the World of Disney, its newest expansion, is officially opening in spring 2026. The land will be similar to the World of Frozen in Hong Kong Disneyland, which has us beyond thrilled to meet our favorite characters in brand-new ways. Carousel of Progress Attraction Change ©Disney In Magic Kingdom, the Carousel of Progress is getting updated with a Walt Disney animatronic. There will be a new opening scene incorporating Walt, and we’ll learn more about what John, Sarah, and the rest of the family have been up to in the new update. Cinderella Castle is Getting Repainted ©Disney Cinderella Castle in Magic Kingdom is being repainted to return to its original colors, as seen before it was updated for the 50th anniversary in 2020. The grays, blues, and gold accents are making a comeback as we bid farewell to the pink! Dates for D23 in 2026 Announced Next year’s D23 announced!
