Although we tend to stay away from “theme park food” in Disney World, sometimes we want something that would 100% qualify as theme park food. We’ll eat mini corn dogs with plastic cheese sauce all day long. New hot dog alert! We’ll also happily munch on a Mickey pretzel and get ice cream sandwiches and even the occasional hot dog. Speaking of hot dogs, though, there’s a spot in Disney Springs, B.B. Wolfe’s Sausage Co., that does some pretty cool takes on the classic hot dog, so when we heard about a Chorizo Dog there, we had to head on over to try it out. The Chorizo Dog is made with Chorizo Sausage, Chimichurri Aioli, Chili-Lime Chicharrones, and Cilantro for $13.29. It also comes with chips. So, first off, yes, there is cilantro in it, and we know that’s a controversial ingredient. However, we’ll let you know that we didn’t really taste it too much. But let’s talk about this hot dog. This is the PERFECT Hispanic hot dog, and what really impressed us most was the quality of the chorizo. It comes with chips That lovely chorizo with all those great flavors is split down the center and grilled — there’s even skin left on it, just like what you might get from a great butcher shop. Then you’ve got the additional flavor coming from the chili lime chicharron, which adds a great crunch. Even after sitting for a while, that part of the hot dog stays crunchy. Also, the hot dog bun is buttered and grilled on both sides. YUM. It’s delish Of course, we’ve got to mention the cheese, which we hate to say is the WEAKEST part of this snack. It’s a crumbly cheese, but we were told it was cotija cheese, but it really didn’t taste like that to us. But, hey, they tried. One other note, the chimichurri aioli didn’t work as well as the other ingredients. We think maybe it would have worked better with something like an avocado salsa. Also, there’s a low heat to the chorizo, so if you’re averse to spicy food, keep that in mind. A closer look But if you’re looking for a different kind of hot dog in Disney World, head on over to Disney Springs. This one does NOT disappoint. Stay tuned to DFB for more. Okay, Disneyland, we see you. We know you have some of the best snacks EVER, and you just keep dropping them like it’s hot! Peach DOLE Whip Sundae Recently, you’ve given us everything from a Buffalo Chicken and Cheese Corn Dog to a Monte Cristo that we DON’T need a dining reservation for to a TON of Halloween treats (Disneyland does NOT skimp on Halloween). But now, you’ve given us another gift: a new DOLE Whip treat…and, well, we are IN LOVE. If you’ve visited Disneyland, you’ll probably already know that Tropical Hideaway is one of the best spots to grab a DOLE Whip in Disneyland. Well, sometimes, this dining spot brings a new snack in, which is the case with the new Peach Sundae, made with DOLE Whip Peach with Caramel Drizzle, topped with Streusel and a Peach Ring for $9.29. Peach. Dole Whip. We can’t even. Peach Sundae We have to tell you that this treat does NOT disappoint. It has a fresh, vibrant, and sweet peach flavor that’s almost like biting into a fresh peach…but in DOLE Whip form. The caramel sauce was also a great idea because that sweet and rich caramel flavor pairs perfectly with the peach DOLE Whip. The streusel is even a nice addition and adds a sweet buttery flavor to top it all off, as well as a nice crunch. So fresh If you love peaches, fresh fruit, or want a light dessert, this is it. Run to Tropical Hideaway RIGHT NOW while it’s still available. Stay tuned to DFB for more. When it comes to iconic snacks in Disneyland, several may come to mind, including Mickey beignets, churros, and DOLE Whip. New corn dog at Blue Ribbon! However, the almighty corn dog is also an iconic Disneyland snack, and Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs in Downtown Disney is one of those dining spots we visit A LOT, especially when they drop NEW corn dogs. Now, Blue Ribbon has been known to play around with unique flavors (we can’t forget the infamous Pickle Corn Dog), and now it’s come out with a brand new corn dog, the Buffalo Chicken and Cheese Corn Dog. So, yes, WE GOT IT. Yes, the Buffalo Chicken and Cheese Corn Dog has arrived, and we ordered it for $15.50. It’s alternating grilled chicken breast and mozzarella cheese pieces, fried in cornmeal batter and topped with buffalo sauce and red and green onions. Yep, that is…something. To quote our reporter, “Such an interesting corn dog!” Buffalo Chicken and Cheese Corn Dog But we were excited to try it because anything buffalo chicken is worth a try, right? Well, we’re happy to report that these flavors work well with this corn dog. The cheese is ooey and gooey (a must, in our book), the buffalo sauce had just the right amount of kick, the veggies were cold and crispy, and the chicken was well-seasoned. SO good HOWEVER, our one complaint is that the chicken had the texture of boiled chicken, which could bother some folks sensitive to certain textures. We didn’t mind, though, and will be ordering this baby again. So if you’re looking to try something different in Disneyland, head on over to Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs to check it out. We love it when they experiment with flavors and put them into corn dogs. Stay tuned to DFB for more. Disney Recipes! How To Make FOUR Super-Savory Disneyland Snacks At Home! Disney World is touted as this magical vacation destination for everyone, but what about the four-legged members of your family? Traveling with pets is stressful We’ve been asked many a time if fans are allowed to bring their dogs to Disney World. It’s a reasonable question, considering it can be hard for some to arrange alternate accommodations for their pets while the family is on vacation. So if you’re looking to bring your furry friend to Disney World, here’s everything you need to know. Orlando was recently named one of the most pet-friendly cities in the U.S., ranking as #7 on WalletHub’s list. These cities were chosen based on a variety of factors, including the cost to own a pet, availability of vets and pet services, and the walkability of the city. But is the Orlando area just as accessible for pets on vacation? Let’s break down the rules for dogs in Disney World. Are Dogs Allowed in the Parks? The first thing you should know is that other than service animals, dogs are NOT allowed in the theme parks, water parks, or “common areas, such as restaurants, pools, and recreational spaces.” So no, the family dog won’t be able to take a stroll in Magic Kingdom or hop on Dumbo the Flying Elephant with you. Fantasyland in Magic Kingdom Pets are also not allowed on Disney transportation. The Disney security team will definitely make sure you abide by these guidelines, whether you’re at the parks or resorts. Keep in mind, these regulations are in place for the safety of other visitors, as well as your pets. Are Dogs Allowed at the Hotels? However, there ARE a select few dog-friendly Disney World Resorts. Disney’s Art of Animation Resort, Port Orleans Resort — Riverside, Yacht Club Resort, and Fort Wilderness Resort are all pet-friendly when it comes to your dogs. Disney’s Art of Animation Resort At this time, dogs are the only pets allowed, and there is a maximum limit of two dogs per guest room. Disney’s website states that all dogs are expected to be “well-behaved, leashed in public areas, and properly vaccinated.” If you’re staying at a campsite at Fort Wilderness, you may need to take additional security measures to make sure your spot is pet-friendly. The Best Friends Pet Hotel in Disney World Now, if you need someone to keep your dog happy and entertained while you’re in the theme parks, Disney World offers the Best Friends Pet Hotel as a paid service. Reservations are recommended, and you can book either daytime or overnight accommodations for your animal. Best Friends Pet Resort! Here, you can choose from a variety of services for dogs, cats, or “pocket pets.” They can’t accept venomous pets or primates, but your dogs, cats, birds, reptiles, and rodents will be welcome. Vaccination documentation from your vet is required, and if your pet is in need of some pampering, they even offer grooming services. Best Friends Pet Hotel For more information, or to make an appointment, you can call (407) 209-3126 or visit the Best Friends Pet Hotel website. Their team here is made up of trained animal care professionals! Guidelines for Service Animals Now, if you’re planning on bringing your service animal to Disney World, the guidelines are a little different than those for regular pets. The Disney World website describes a service animal as “a dog or miniature horse that has been individually trained to do work or perform tasks for an individual with a disability.” Disney’s Animal Kingdom Service animals are required to have a leash or harness at all times, and only trained service animals are allowed in the theme parks, water parks, or Disney Springs. Emotional support animals, comfort animals, and pets are only allowed at the designated pet-friendly resorts. Disney Springs Service animals must be well-behaved and not bark, growl, jump up on, or lunge at other guests. Due to the nature of some attractions, service animals may not be able to ride and may need to utilize Rider Switch or a portable kennel. The Disney World website includes more information about service animal relief areas and ride accommodations. Service Animal Area So there you have it — all the details on whether or not your dog can come on your vacation! For more information, see the Disney World website. It is a good time to be a Swiftie. Not only are we able to stream The Eras Tour on Disney+ over and over (guilty), but we also have a brand new album, “The Life of a Showgirl,” dropping on October 4th. ©Disney Of course, Taylor Swift, being the “Mastermind” that she is, also dropped some big news after releasing all those special edition pre-orders for the new album. The singer and songwriter announced that she and her Kansas City Chiefs football-playing fiancé, Travis Kelce, were engaged! Now, there is a lot of speculation about whether she will perform at the 2026 Super Bowl halftime show, and it’s starting to look like it’s possible! So the speculation started when Taylor appeared on the New Heights podcast, which is hosted by her boyfriend, Travis, and his brother Jason Kelce (who is also a football player). She talked a little bit about the Super Bowl in general, as well as the halftime Show, during the podcast. Now, Swifties know that Tay Tay is playing chess while the rest of us are playing checkers, and she’s been known to drop clues to her future plans in little ways that fans pick up on. ©New Heights/YouTube However, she also spoke about her hobby of making sourdough. How is that relevant? Well, Sourdough Sam is the name of the mascot for the San Francisco 49ers, aka the team whose home stadium will be where the Super Bowl is played in 2026. But here’s the exact quote that followed her mention of sourdough: “I’m really talking about bread 60% of the time now.” Guess what number next year’s Super Bowl will be? It will be the 60th. Like I said, MASTERMIND. ©Taylor Swift So maybe for the uninitiated, that still seems a bit of a stretch. However, NFL Roger Goodell recently said that Swift is “welcome” to perform for the Super Bowl halftime show and then even teased that it “may be” in the works for 2026. “We would always love to have Taylor play,” Goodell said. “She is a special, special talent, and obviously she would be welcome at any time.” MIC DROP. So is Taylor Swift performing at the Super Bowl halftime show in 2026? Well, it’s a “maybe,” but it’s also an “all signs point to yes,” too. We’ll just have to see… Stay tuned to DFB for more. The Walt Disney Company is constantly changing. Disney World From the theme parks to Walt Disney Studios, and everything in between, we keep up with every single change so you don’t have to! There is so much happening on any given day, so we like to do a weekly round-up of the biggest news that you might have missed. Let’s dive in! When it comes to Disney news, there is always some change or update going on! The parks are changing quite a bit right now, new movies and shows are dropping frequently, and we’re even on CEO watch for 2026. Our first news takes us over to the Magic Kingdom! Cinderella Castle Paint Job If you heard several thousand Disney fans freaking out this week, it was thanks to Cinderella Castle. (Is there a more Disney Adult sentence possible?) Disney officially confirmed the classic color scheme is coming back to Cinderella Castle at Disney World. ©Disney The colors changed during the 50th anniversary, but it’s officially being painted to go back to the original colors. The announcement came during Destination D23 with Imagineers saying, “Cinderella Castle at Magic Kingdom is getting a new color palette, inspired by the classic and original look of the castle. The updated paint will feature grays, creams, blues, and touches of gold, aiming to enhance the castle’s architecture.” Cinderella Castle The castle is currently pink, and it was painted with the current color scheme for the 50th anniversary. While we’re seriously excited for this change, we suspect it isn’t just an aesthetic one. We spoke with a source who has a professional background in projection mapping, and he shared a little secret with us: The best color to project designs on is gray, so the projections during shows like Happily Ever After should pop a lot more than the pink did. Happily Ever After Disney hasn’t confirmed when this change will take place, but even just knowing it’s on the way is giving us goose bumps and butterflies. The nostalgia is strong here! Disney Announces HUGE Change for Next Year’s D23 Expo DinoLand U.S.A. Closing Date In more bittersweet news, Disney has officially confirmed when DinoLand U.S.A. will close forever in Animal Kingdom. The land has been operating through a series of phased closures that began in January 2025. Now we know that DinoLand will close permanently on February 2nd, 2026. Construction in August 2025 Restaurantosaurus and DINOSAUR, the attraction, will be closing on February 2nd to make way for the new Pueblo Esperanza, the Tropical Americas themed land opening in 2027. Disney shared that the final day to experience DINOSAUR, The Dino Institute Shop, Restaurantosaurus, and Restaurantosaurus Lounge is February 1st, so be prepared. DINOSAUR Disney previously announced that the area would be transformed into Pueblo Esperanza, and the land will highlight the Tropical Americas using intellectual properties like Encanto and Indiana Jones. We’ve been following the changes to this land since it was originally announced in 2022, before we knew the specifics of the new area. The Casita ©Disney The new land will feature classic Spanish-style architecture with a large hacienda that will also serve as one of the largest quick-service restaurants at Disney World. The rich and lush color and biodiversity of the Tropical Rainforest will be on full display, and at the center of Pueblo Esperanza will be a large fountain where stories will be told by gathering villagers. We don’t have an official opening date for the land yet, but we know it’s projected to open in 2027. Here’s everything we know about Pueblo Esperanza! New Pirates of the Caribbean Bar Finally, the most recent Disney news takes us out onto the open sea with the Disney Cruise Line! On November 20th, 2025, Disney’s newest ship, the Disney Destiny, is setting sail with new shows, dining experiences, and more. One of the most anticipated offerings is the Cask and Cannon, the new Pirates of the Caribbean-themed bar. Luckily for us, Disney gave us a new sneak peek at the bar. ©Disney The bar is “inspired by the iconic characters and scenes from the beloved Disney Parks attractions around the world, the new pub will be an eclectic yet cozy watering hole furnished with treasures ‘acquired’ (read: pillaged and pilfered) during the pirates’ many voyages around the globe.” They showed us new concept art (along with some merchandise) while detailing what we should look for in the bar! ©Disney Disney teased several Easter Eggs that use inspiration from the attractions around the world, the famous films, and the original concept art from Disney Legend and Imagineer Marc Davis. They’ve warned us to look up and down to uncover every design element because even the ceiling and carpet will have secrets hidden in them. Cask and Cannon ©Disney Disney shared that “pillaging is highly discouraged,” but we’re still excited to get our hands on the selection of rare and specialty rums, plus some “‘bootlegged’ brews developed specially for the venue and served straight from the barrel in true pirate style.” Dive Into Every Easter Egg We Know About In The Cask and Cannon On The Disney Destiny Here Does it feel overwhelming to keep up with all of this while planning your next trip? Before you book your next Disney World vacation, there are a few rules you’ll want to follow. Art of Animation Staying at a Disney World resort is more than just a place to sleep. It’s part of the vacation experience. From themed pools and stunning lobbies to convenient transportation and unique dining, Disney hotels are designed to keep the magic going long after you leave the parks. But before you check in, there are a few new rules and tips every guest should know to make the most of their stay. 1. Check For Construction Disney hotels are constantly being refreshed, and while that’s great in the long run, it can be a bit of a hassle during your stay. From lobby refurbishments to pool closures, construction can affect the atmosphere and amenities at your resort. Before you book, take a moment to double-check whether your chosen hotel has any ongoing or upcoming projects. A little research could save you from unexpected noise or missing out on that pool day you were counting on. Disney World EXTENDS Refurbishments at Two Popular Hotels Through 2027 Grand Floridian Resort Construction 2. Check Cancelation Policies Life happens, and when winter rolls around, so do unexpected illnesses and unpredictable weather. Disney’s cancelation policy for hotel rooms gives you some peace of mind: To receive a full refund of the guest’s deposit, notification of cancellation must be received at least 8 days before the guest’s arrival date. For vacation packages, cancelations must be made at least 30 days before arrival to avoid penalties. Knowing these details before you book means fewer surprises if you need to change your plans. Disney’s BoardWalk 3. Check One More Time for Discounts Disney is always rolling out new promotions and discounts on hotel rooms, sometimes even after you’ve booked. That’s why it’s smart to check for deals leading up to your trip; you might be able to save hundreds just by rebooking under a new offer. Travel planners like Small World Vacations can make this even easier; they’ll keep an eye on discounts for you and update your reservation automatically if a better deal pops up. It’s one of the easiest ways to make sure you’re getting the best value for your stay. Disney’s Riviera Resort 4. Check Special Holiday Offerings If you’re visiting during the holiday season, don’t miss out on the resort-exclusive festivities. Many hotels go all out with seasonal decorations, like the massive gingerbread displays at Disney’s Contemporary Resort and Disney’s Boardwalk Inn. However, it’s essential to note that not every tradition returns each year. This year, for example, the Grand Floridian won’t be hosting its famous gingerbread house due to construction. Double-check the latest offerings so you can plan to stop by the resorts that are showcasing their holiday magic. Gingerbread House at Boardwalk Inn 5. Don’t Skip Your Hotel Dining It’s easy to focus all your dining plans on the parks, but the hotels also have some incredible lounges and restaurants worth exploring. From hidden gem quick-service spots to signature dining experiences, your resort can add a lot to your vacation dining lineup. Disney has even added a new feature to the My Disney Experience app that shows you current wait times for hotel dining right on the map, making it easier than ever to snag a table when you’re ready to eat. Don’t overlook what’s right at your doorstep. Ale & Compass Lounge 6. Know What Room to Book For 2026 bookings, Disney will be adjusting the names of some room categories at Disney Moderate Resorts. Moving forward, the main room categories will be Standard Room, Preferred Room, or a room with a king bed. Some Disney Moderate Resorts will continue to offer additional categories, like the Royal Guest Room category at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort—Riverside. A new Disney Villains-themed land is coming to Magic Kingdom, and that means we could see some major rule changes on the horizon! ©Disney Disney World has an entire code of conduct for visitors to follow during their vacations, but they also have important policies for how the parks operate. And with an all-new land based on spooky concepts, these rules might get shaken up! New Virtual Queues? New land openings often draw MASSIVE crowds to Disney World, and Villains Land is going to be no different, especially since it’s something that Disney Adults have been hoping to get in the parks. In the past, one of the most common ways Disney has managed crowds for a grand opening season was with virtual queues. ©Disney Virtual queues have often been used for ride openings in recent years, lasting until some of the hype dies down. But they could also be put in place to manage crowds in the land as a whole. If Disney doesn’t offer some kind of reservation system or queue, then they run the risk of everyone in the park heading for the new land at the same time. Cosplaying and Costumes Back when Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge first opened, Disney had to release some new guidelines about what visitors were allowed to wear in the park. They guessed that many fans would want to dress up to visit the new land, and they were right. So we won’t be surprised if they have to do the same for Villains Land. This family is winning Halloween with their ‘Night at the Museum’ outfits! @grace_hersh It’s already in the listed rules that visitors aren’t allowed to dress in full costume (unless you’re coming to a special event in the park) or wear masks. You’re also not able to wear clothes that drag on the ground. But with a new Villains space in the parks, we’re expecting there to be quite a few creative Disneybounds! Early Entry and Extended Evening Hours If you’re staying at a Disney World Resort, you can get a benefit in the form of extra time in the parks! All Disney World Resorts get Early Theme Park Entry, while the Deluxe Resorts offer the perk of Extended Evening Hours. And we’ll be interested to see if Villains Land is open during these times! Main Street, U.S.A. Of course, if Villains Land IS open during those extra hours, Disney may need to establish rules or capacity limits so that everyone doesn’t overcrowd the area. New Lightning Lane Tiers What about the Lightning Lane system with the new land? Well, it’s likely that the new attractions will either fall into Lightning Lane Single Pass bookings or land as Tier 1 attractions for Lightning Lane Multi Pass. This could change up the lineup for Lightning Lanes in Magic Kingdom pretty significantly. Lightning Lane We may also see these new rides kept off the Lightning Lane system altogether, at least during the popular opening period. Currently, we don’t have much information about the rides, but based on the concept art, one looks to be a roller coaster! What About the Cast Members? One final question we have about rule changes has to do with the Cast Members! Currently, they travel from location to location around Magic Kingdom by utilizing the famous underground tunnels, the Utilidor System. But those tunnels don’t currently reach as far as Villains Land. Magic Kingdom Cast Member Will Disney be expanding the Utilidor System? Or will they allow Villains Land Cast Members to cross parts of the park in their costumes? Will there be a new backstage area where they can enter from behind? We admit, we’re a little curious! Any time a new land is added to a park, we can expect some changes. We’ll be interested to see how Villains Land affects Magic Kingdom! Stay tuned to DFB for more Disney World updates. One of the things we stress a lot here on DFB is the importance of staying hydrated when you’re visiting Disney World. That’s because the Florida heat and humidity are NO joke. Not to mention all the extra exercise you get when you’re walking around the parks. Water is a necessity. ©Target However, we also tell you not to buy water in the parks (because it’s expensive), and instead grab free water from counter service locations when you can, as well as bring a water bottle or tumbler with you that you can refill at Disney World’s many water bottle refill stations. There are only FOUR meals that you NEED to prioritize during your Disney World vacation! Hi Mickey! Having to narrow down what you wanna eat at Disney World can feel overwhelming when there’s just SO MUCH to choose from. So we’re here to help you narrow down that rather intimidating restaurant scope and figure out what your HEART is really trying to tell you to prioritize above all the rest. Let’s get started! The Bucket List Meal We’ve been all aboard the Bucket List Express lately because…well…Disney World is a bucket list destination in and of itself. And while you’re there, you might as well feed two birds with one scone and accomplish OTHER bucket list items! It’s like a bucket list-inception. Cinderella Castle Sure, you probably don’t wanna eat at ALL your bucket list Disney World restaurants in one go. (Heavy on the “probably”), BUT you can at least take the time to eat at one or two. For some of you, a Bucket List restaurant could mean really going ALL OUT. Like, booking Advance Dining Reservations for Cinderella’s Royal Table in Magic Kingdom to meet several of your favorite princesses, all while dining inside the ICONIC Cinderella Castle. Cinderella’s Royal Table OR for those of you who believe that Disney food truly is a huge part of the overall Disney experience, you might wanna save back for a multi-course, multi-hour long meal at one of those ultra-fancy dining experiences, like Victoria and Albert’s in Grand Floridian or Takumi-Tei in EPCOT. Victoria & Albert’s But for other folks, a bucket list Disney restaurant doesn’t have to be the PRICIEST restaurant option out there. It could also just be the restaurant you’ve heard a lot about and you’ve wanted to try for years for the aesthetic or for the menu options alone. Because how often do you get the chance to dine on a Navi harvest inside Pandora, quick service or not? Satu’li Canteen over at Animal Kingdom can help make that happen. Satu’li Canteen And dining inside a convertible-shaped table over at Sci-Fi Dine-In while cheesy black-and-white movie clips play up on the screen? Now THAT’S a great bucket list option for all the Hollywood Studios/movie fans out there! Sci-Fi Dine-In Theatre Restaurant Or maybe that bucket list restaurant also includes a specialty dining EXPERIENCE — like Roses of Gold Afternoon Tea in The Cake Bake Shop at Boardwalk Inn. Or Sangria University (where you get to learn how to make handcrafted sangrias) inside Three Bridges Bar and Grill at Coronado Springs. Or even an EPCOT fireworks dining package at Rose and Crown, Spice Road Table, or the BRAND NEW adults-only GEO-82 lounge. Luminous as seen from GEO-82 In a nutshell, whatever Disney World restaurant first popped up in your head when the words “Bucket List Meal” appeared on the screen just a few moments ago, THAT’S the restaurant you’ll wanna place at the top of your priority list. The heart wants what the heart wants. And sometimes, the heart wants castle dining…While other times, it wants cheeseburger spring rolls from the Magic Kingdom Adventureland cart. Just make sure to research those dining (and snacking) prices ahead of your visit so that you’ll know which bucket list items you can knock out next time (and which ones you’ll need to save for a later date). Hidden Gems There are some Disney World restaurants that you’re never gonna hear talked about in casual conversation. Your book club probably doesn’t know about them. Your fellow PTA parents probably don’t know about them. Not even Neighbor Bob, who just got BACK from a Disney vacation, will probably know about them. ©Disney And that’s not because Disney’s actually actively trying to HIDE these restaurants. It’s just, most Disney-goers are gonna prioritize the more mainstream recommendations and not do any extra research to figure out what Disney restaurants might be tucked away elsewhere that could be EVEN BETTER. But that’s why you follow US, right?? Because you’re not like every other Disney-goer and you wanna learn about both the mainstream restaurants as well as the more obscure ones to make an EDUCATED dining decision instead of an off-the-cuff one. So what hidden gem restaurants should you take a deep dive into? We’ve got a few recommendations for ya: Jiko Jiko The Cooking Place at Animal Kingdom Lodge is a signature dinner experience that’s both comfy-cozy AND adventurous in spirit. Along with the crackling wood-burning ovens and sunset mood lighting, the menu offers a variety of African flavors — from its foods to its boutique wines. Some of our past favorite items here have been the Braai’d Wild Boar Tenderloin (for an appetizer), From the Oak Grill — made with your choice of bone marrow-crusted Filet Mignon or Braai New York strip, the Moroccan-spiced Lamb Shank, and the Bobotie Mac & Cheese enhancement — made with four cheeses, spiced beef, almonds, raisins, Kachumbari, and red wine reduction. (Definitely not your typical mac and cheese dish!) Bread Service We also wanna give a quick mention to Animal Kingdom’s two other sit-down restaurants, too, because we PROMISE you most of your PTA friends have NOT been to these places. First, there’s Boma — which is a buffet-style restaurant open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Lunch and dinner here, again, serve lots of African and American-inspired items — like pita with dipping sauces, peanut and coconut rice, Durban chicken, tamarind BBQ ribs, and seasonal soups Boma also has one of our favorite breakfast spreads property-wide — featuring morning options like Simba waffles, turkey bobotie, omelets, deviled eggs with smoked salmon, scrambled eggs with spinach/feta/and tomato, AND complimentary bottomless POG juice (which stands for Passion fruit, Orange, and Guava juice). Boma Then there’s Sanaa (but Sanaa will be getting another mention later on, so we’ll hold off on talking about it until later). Sanaa Tusker House at Animal Kingdom might not be tucked away inside a resort like these other hidden gem restaurants have been, however, it still tends to be an overlooked option in the character dining department. But it SHOULDN’T be. The food on Tusker’s House buffet is flavorful and interesting, combining American and African-inspired cuisine into a meal that both adventurous AND picky eaters can enjoy. Tusker House Plus, the characters featured here are among some of the most sought-after in all of the parks — including friends like Donald Duck, Mickey, Goofy, and Daisy all dressed up in their Safari best! While the buffet items can vary, we’d HIGHLY recommend that you pile up your plates with the tandoori chicken, baked mac and cheese, the various breads and dips, and the hummingbird cake for lunch and dinner. And as for breakfast, some of the best morning options you’ll potentially find here are the made-to-order omelettes, bobotie, African French Toast, and Simba waffles (which are EVEN BETTER when you top ‘em off with that fresh banana caramel sauce). So fun! Beaches and Cream at Beach Club Resort is a relatively affordable soda shop-themed table service with colorful accents, jukebox tunes, comfort-classic meals, and a robust menu of ice cream specialties. The No Way Jose sundae is a CLASSIC favorite made with Chocolate and Vanilla Ice Cream that’s mixed in with Peanut Butter and Hot Fudge sauces, then sprinkled with Peanut Butter and Chocolate Morsels and further topped with a Whipped Cream and a Cherry. No Way Jose But the kitchen sink is another fun — yet more novelty — option. This one is served to your whole table with LOTS of fanfare from the entire restaurant. But why all the ruckus? Because you’re literally ordering a full kitchen sink’s worth of ice cream, complete with EVERY TOPPING that the restaurant’s got. Word of advice: Don’t even try to conquer this one alone. This is meant for groups of four or larger to all tackle together. If you don’t have time to do a full sit-down meal here, but you still want to try a Beaches and Cream ice cream, you can visit their to-go window outside the restaurant, which has a limited menu of floats, shakes, ice cream scoops, and ice cream sandwiches too! Beaches and Cream Geyser Point Bar and Grill at Wilderness Lodge is an underrated beauty situated at the back of the resort, next to the docks overlooking Bay Lake. It offers open-air, shaded dining, as well as a roaring fireplace for those cooler evenings. And all of this outdoorsy aesthetic is all packaged into one rustic, cozy setting with some of the best waterfront views around. Geyser Point Bar & Grill You can get a variety of hearty appetizers and entrees here — like charcuterie platters and the Bison Cheeseburger — but one of the most noteworthy parts about this place is its unique cocktails featuring spirits from Northwest distilleries (to keep up with the theming around the resort itself). NEW TO YOU Over the past few years, Disney World has opened SEVERAL new restaurants. And if you haven’t been to Disney World in the past few years, then maybe it’s time for you to try something BRAND NEW upon your return! But even if this is your first time ever going to Disney World, brand new restaurants can still be exciting ones to prioritize — not only for the unique experience, but for the overall bragging rights. The Beak and Barrel So, here are some of the NEWEST restaurants that’ve taken over the Disney scene in the past few years that YOU might wanna place at the top of your “must eat” list! First up, we’ve got Roundup Rodeo BBQ in Hollywood Studios, which opened back in Spring of 2023. Roundup Rodeo BBQ Roundup Rodeo BBQ is a table-service, family-style restaurant that brings you inside Andy’s backyard and shrinks you down to the size of a toy for an immersive meal with LOTS of colorful props, a few immersive elements that’ll require you to FREEZE IN PLACE (so you’re not caught by Andy), and lots and lots and LOTS of good BBQ. Howdy! Shiki Sai Sushi Izakaya in EPCOT is a newish table-service spot that took over the old Tokyo Dining space and completely transformed it into a restaurant that changes with the seasons to reflect different Japanese celebrations throughout the year. If you want more information about the current celebration going on, cultural representatives from Japan will walk you through the traditions, stories, and offerings so that you’ll be caught up to speed in no time. Shiki-Sai Both Summer House on the Lake and eet by Maneet Chauhan opened in Disney Springs back in December 2023. Summer House on the Lake is a table-service restaurant that focuses on California-inspired bites — including items like pizza, pasta, fresh salads, sandwiches, and more. But this restaurant is SO MUCH MORE than just a place to find a decent sit-down meal. Summer House on the Lake The Cookie Bar in front of the restaurant serves a variety of oversized cookies, bars, and other sweet treats that you can take on the go with ya. You can also grab a drink minus the dining reservation from one of the three restaurant bars — including the signature Summer House rosé. Notably, you can try the Cali-Mexi brunch here on Saturdays and Sundays from 9 AM to 3 PM. Summer House also hosts Martini Hours Monday-Friday from 3-6 PM (which’ll hook ya up with discounted drinks and exclusive bites — like the bottomless truffle fries). Finally, Summer House serves Grab-and-Go Breakfast items starting at 9 AM until lunch begins! Looks just like a giant Florida room at home Meanwhile, eet is an Indian-inspired quick service location featuring traditional flavors with a modern-day twist. This is a great place to try something more unique without breaking your budget — with options like Tandoori Chicken Poutine, Gulab Jamun Cheesecake, Chicken Tikka Naan Pizza, and more. eet by Maneet Chauhan 1900 Park Fare might not be a brand new restaurant inside Grand Floridian, but after YEARS of being out of commission after the 2020 closures, 1900 Park Fare finally reopened in spring 2024 with an updated dining room look, NEW character meet and greet experiences (featuring Prince Ali, Tiana in her Bayou Adventure get up, Mirabel, and Cinderella), buuuut still the same classic Strawberry Soup that we’d missed somethin’ awful while this buffet was MIA. 1900 Park Fare The Cake Bake Shop at Boardwalk Inn made us keep waiting, and waiting, and WAITING for it to open up shop — but once it finally did in October 2024, the waiting felt well worth it. Now, we’ve got a table service/afternoon tea/champagne bar/to-go bakery that we can visit whenever we’re in the area, all situated inside a restaurant with lots of gold and silver accents, and TONS of glitter (throughout the decor…. AND the food, too!). The Cake Bake Shop Bakery Wailulu Bar and Grill popped up over at Polynesian Village Resort when the DVC Island Tower opened in December 2024. This tropical lounge has both indoor and outdoor seating (albeit pretty limited seating, so make sure to get your name on its walk-up waitlist ASAP). And depending on where your table’s situated, you MIGHT have a crystal clear view of the Magic Kingdom fireworks while you drink and dine! Bar There are nods to the Polynesian culture all throughout the menu. Breakfast mainly includes coffee and pastry options, while lunch and dinner have highlighted eats like Sweet Potato Hummus, Spiced Ham Musubi, Sticky Pork Ribs, Poke Bowls, a Dole Whip Sundae, and the Wayfinder Burger. Wayfinder Burger GEO-82 in EPCOT opened recently back in May 2025, and is a Spaceship Earth-themed lounge EXCLUSIVELY for guests who are 21+ years old. You’ll find the entrance for this lounge towards the back of “Project Tomorrow”, which is the area that riders exit following their ride on Spaceship Earth. And once you make your way inside the lounge, you’ll be greeted by a sleek, zen-like atmosphere that’s very reminiscent of the classic EPCOT attraction itself. Inside GEO 82 Along with serving good vibes and great views across the World Celebration Gardens, the lounge also serves a variety of cuisine and cocktails. One of our FAVORITE drinks to order here is the Brown Butter Old Fashioned, since it comes with a Spaceship Earth-stamped ice cube! Brown Butter Old Fashioned Bourbon Steak by Michael Mina recently opened at the Swan and Dolphin Hotels (over on the Dolphin side) and is a reimagined modern take on the quintessential American steakhouse, featuring premium cuts of beef and seafood that’s been infused with global flavors. Honestly, ANY of the Swan and Dolphin restaurants could also be part of our hidden gem category, because these restaurants are REALLY the ones that the Disney pros track down when they want good food that’s away from the Disney hustle and bustle without completely leaving the Disney bubble to find it. Bourbon Steak Another new(ish) restaurant that opened in Swan and Dolphin (also on the Dolphin side) back in 2023 is Rosa Mexicano — “an elevated fiesta dining experience” which includes signature menu items and award-winning margaritas. Some of our recent favorites that we’ve tried from this table service include the Pomegranate Margarita, Birria Quesatacos, Sweet Corn Esquites, and Roasted Chicken Suizas. Rosa Mexicano Magic Kingdom’s The Beak and Barrel is the newest lounge/restaurant to open at Disney World and offers a family-friendly Pirates of the Caribbean-themed tavern that expands the classic attraction’s lore in an immersive (and very lively) pub setting filled with enchanted rum bottles, grogs and gruel to order, and a little bird named Rummy — who bears a striking resemblance to our old pal Barker Bird who USED to be part of the Pirates of the Caribbean ride several years back. The Beak and Barrel We checked this spot out recently, and you can check out our FULL REVIEW by clicking here! Your Old Favorites There’s no shame in revisiting your old favorite Disney World restaurants, even if you’ve already been there time and again, visit after visit. Sure, it’s nothing new, but at least you already know you love it. And — if you’re gonna be experimenting around OTHER restaurants during your vacation — it’s nice to have a safe-bet meal locked into place to look forward to, as well. The Diamond Horseshoe Not to mention, there’s the whole nostalgia factor to consider here. After all, your old favorite Disney restaurants are comfortable, reliable, and provide great memories from the past that you’ll wanna keep building on. We get it. That’s why the DFB team has our old favorites too. For starters, Le Cellier Steakhouse in EPCOT is a signature restaurant that takes place in a wine cellar-style dining room, complete with dark molding, low ceilings, and dim lighting. The atmosphere is very intimate and romantic — probably better suited for a date night rather than a big group with lots of kiddos looking to meet Mickey Mouse. But the FOOD is really what keeps us coming back here — since this is where you’ll find some of the BEST steaks in all of Disney, as well as a variety of poutines and savory appetizers (like the charcuterie platters and classic Canadian Cheddar Cheese Soup). Le Cellier Nomad Lounge in Animal Kingdom is an absolute favorite and for good reason. The seating and vibes here are immaculate — from the warm tones and travel-inspired accents inside the lounge, to the wraparound porch and waterfront views outside the lounge. The small plates here are some of our absolute favorites — including the Tiffins bread service and the BEST churros not just in Animal Kingdom, but in ALL of Disney World, honestly. Nomad Lounge And the drinks are fantastic, too! Each of the cocktails is handcrafted — NEVER pre-mixed — but if you’re more into trying different specialty beers, Nomad Lounge does serve a Kungaloosh “Spiced Expedition Ale,” which is an African-inspired deep amber ale brewed exclusively for Disney World, made with Sorghum and a special blend of spices including Cinnamon and Cardamom. Drinks at Nomad Lounge NOTE: Nomad Lounge does NOT take advance dining reservations, so you’ll need to join the walk-up waitlist through the My Disney Experience App on the day that you’re in Animal Kingdom. We highly recommend doing that just as soon as you can to make sure the list doesn’t fill up before you get a chance to join. The bread service came with a variety of foods Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin’ in Disney Springs is basically the restaurant version of a hug. Chef Art (who you might know as Oprah Winfrey’s former chef) opened this as his staple restaurant to celebrate his Floridian roots while also paying homage to “farm-to-fork” style cuisine. So expect to find items here like thigh-high chicken biscuits, church lady deviled eggs, Key West shrimp cocktail, shrimp and grits, and a fun variety of moonshine cocktails. Homecomin’ Back over at Animal Kingdom Lodge again, we’ll talk specifically about Sanaa for a moment, because we don’t think we’ve ever had anything less than an amazing experience here. Sanaa is a table service restaurant located in the Kidani Village section of Animal Kingdom Lodge. Many of the dishes are made with authentic cooking methods (like slow-roasting and tandoori oven cooking). Sanaa dining room If being able to see that safari of animals is a #1 priority for you, make sure to book a reservation here for lunch and request a window view. If you make a reservation for Sanaa during dinner, however, it’s gonna be harder to see those animals once the sun sets. Some of our all-time favorite eats include the Indian-Style Bread Service (with your choice of five breads and all nine accompaniment dips and spreads) and the Tandoori Chicken (served with Traditional Naan, Pickled Onion, Tomato, and Sambal Mayonnaise). Indian-style Bread Service And FINALLY, let’s talk about Story Book Dining at Artist Point in Wilderness Lodge. Held in a dining room that’s surrounded by a canopy of trees, covering the ceiling and twisting down around the walls to really emphasize the whole “you’re eating-in-an-enchanted-forest” type vibe. During your meal, you’ll get to chat with Snow White, along with a couple of her friends — Grumpy and Dopey. Dopey! And while the Evil Queen won’t come up directly to your table, she does have a photo op area off to the side, giving you the RARE chance to take a picture with the OG Disney villainess herself. Dinner here is a prix-fixe meal that takes hearty American food and gives it a bit of a storybook makeover. Some of our favorite options to choose from include Royal Prime Rib Roast, the Magic Mirror Slow-braised Veal Shank, and the smoky mushroom bisque. There are two NEW closures this week in Disney World affecting hotel pools! Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort If you are heading to Disney World soon, you need to know about these closures. We don’t want you to be surprised when you head for your afternoon swim or relaxing day by the pool. Here’s a look at the two new pool closures this week: Fantasia Kiddie Pool — Disney’s All-Star Movies The Fantasia kiddie pool at Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort will be closing for maintenance beginning September 8th. The pool is expected to be closed through late October, but Disney hasn’t announced a specific reopening date yet. Disney’s All-Star Movies While the Fantasia kiddie pool is closed, the Fantasia Feature Pool and Duck Pond Pool will remain open, and guests staying at Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort are welcome to use the kiddie pools at Disney’s All-Star Music and Disney’s All-Star Sports. The Samawati Springs Pool Slide — Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge Starting on September 8th, the Samawati Springs Pool Slide will be closing at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge — Kidani Village for routine maintenance. Disney hasn’t announced a date for when the slide will reopen. Samawati Springs Pool If you’re staying at the resort, there will still be another water slide option for you to enjoy at the Uzima Springs Pool! ONLY the slide at The Samawati Springs Pool will be closed; you can still use the pool, just not the slide. You just may see or hear construction at work. Let’s take a look at the other attractions and locations that will be closed this week, from September 6th through September 13th, at Disney World. EPCOT Spaceship Earth Spaceship Earth has been closed for routine refurbishment since August 25th, 2025. While it will only be a temporary closure as the attraction is expected to reopen later this year, it will still be a few months or so without Spaceship Earth. Spaceship Earth We aren’t expecting any major changes to the attraction, just general maintenance and routine work. During this time, the Project Tomorrow: Inventing the Wonders of the Future exhibit will be closed, as well. It is definitely going to be sad experiencing the start of the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival without being able to ride Spaceship Earth, though. 4 NEW World Showcase Additions Just Arrived at EPCOT Magic Kingdom Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin A popular Tomorrowland attraction is now closed! Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin has closed for refurbishment as of August 4th, 2025, and isn’t expected to reopen until 2026. While the ride is closed, it will be getting some upgrades! Closed for Refurbishment Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin will be getting a new ride scene, new ride vehicles, a new character, and enhanced gameplay elements. Some of those gameplay elements include handheld blasters (soon you can shoot whenever you want!) and reactive targets. We recently got the chance to take a look at the new ride vehicle and test out the new blasters, and we have to say we were impressed! Liberty Square Riverboat and Tom Sawyer Island An iconic part of the Magic Kingdom is now permanently closed. As of July 7th, the Rivers of America, including the Liberty Square River Boat and Tom Sawyer Island, are closed for good to make way for the new Cars area, Piston Peak National Park. There are some construction walls up in the area now, and we have seen workers on Tom Sawyer Island. The river has also started to be drained! Rivers of America Piston Peak National Park will be replacing this area of Magic Kingdom, and construction is expected to begin in the area this year. Disney has not yet released an opening date for the new Cars area, but we do know that it will feature two brand-new attractions and will be themed to look like a National Park. I’m a Raging Introvert, and These Are the Quietest Times To Visit Magic Kingdom Big Thunder Mountain Railroad On January 6th, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad closed for an extended temporary closure. The “Wildest Ride in the Wilderness” will be closed for at least a year and will reopen sometime in 2026. The ride will be undergoing maintenance while it is closed. When it reopens, it will have some “new magic,” according to Disney. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad Recently, Disney announced some of the new magic! Riders will see “spectacular natural caverns full of phosphorescent pools, shimmering and illuminating iridescent stalagmites (the ones on the floor) and stalactites (the ones on the ceiling)” — the Rainbow Caverns! We can’t wait to see what other changes might be coming to this ever-popular roller coaster! We have spotted some ride testing happening, which was very exciting, and a train car has arrived! It was still covered in a tarp, but it was exciting to see. Tortuga Tavern Tortuga Tavern is a seasonal restaurant in Magic Kingdom. It has been a bit since we saw it open. Most recently, it was used as a cookie location for Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. Tortuga Tavern We had previously spotted shrubs around the restaurant as they worked on the flooring. However, all the shrubs have been taken down now. We don’t know exactly when/if this restaurant will reopen, but we will keep you updated if we learn more! 5 Game-Changing Updates Announced for Magic Kingdom in 2025 Disney’s Animal Kingdom TriceraTop Spin, Chester & Hester’s Dinosaur Treasures, Fossil Fun Games, and The Boneyard The first round of closures began in DinoLand U.S.A. on January 13th, 2025. TriceraTop Spin, Chester & Hester’s Dinosaur Treasures, and Fossil Fun Game were closed down, and construction has begun on the brand-new land themed to the Tropical Americas, Pueblo Esperanza. The Boneyard will be permanently closed on September 2nd. DinoLand U.S.A. construction It is definitely a sad sight, but we are also excited to see Pueblo Esperanza! DINOSAUR, Restaurantosaurus, and the snack stands are still open, but Disney recently announced the rest of DinoLand, U.S.A. will be closing for good on February 2nd, 2026. It’s Tough to Be a Bug It’s Tough to Be a Bug is closed for good. This attraction in Disney’s Animal Kingdom once invited you to join the bug kingdom on an adventure. While the show didn’t usually make it to the top of favorite attractions in Disney World, it has now closed to make way for a new show. It’s Tough to be a Bug! It’s Tough to Be a Bug closed on March 17th to make way for a brand-new show, “Zootopia: Better Zoogether!”, expected to debut on November 7th, 2025. The show begins when you arrive at the main stage just in time for Zoogether Day festivities, where you’ll spot some new and familiar faces, including Heidi Howler, a wolf who hosts the Zoogether Day LIVE! broadcast. New Park Map Reflects Controversial CHANGES At Animal Kingdom Disney’s Hollywood Studios Muppets Courtyard, including Muppet*Vision 3D, PizzeRizzo, and Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano Muppet*Vision 3D AND PizzeRizzo closed on June 8th, and Muppets Courtyard has been walled off so construction can begin on the new Monsters, Inc. land. Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano has been closed since May 11th. Muppets Courtyard behind walls Don’t worry, the Muppets won’t be missing from Disney’s Hollywood Studios forever. The Muppets will eventually be taking over Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster in 2026. 3 Cringey Things That Make Me Rethink Walking into Disney’s Hollywood Studios Restaurants Ever Again Blizzard Beach Blizzard Beach will be closed beginning September 8th, 2025! While it has been wonderful having BOTH Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon open at the same time this summer (which was the first time this has happened in YEARS), that is quickly coming to an end. Your last day to hang out at Blizzard Beach for at least a little bit will be September 7th. Blizzard Beach Have no fear, though, if you are looking for somewhere to cool off and enjoy some fun in the water, Typhoon Lagoon will still be open! Disney World Hotels Jellyrolls — Disney’s BoardWalk Jellyrolls at Disney’s BoardWalk officially closed on April 19th, 2025. This entertainment venue has provided our team with countless memories, and we know many others are also sad to see it close. Jellyrolls had its final farewell performance on April 19th and closed its doors forever on Disney’s BoardWalk. Jellyrolls However, this isn’t the end for Jellyrolls, as the bar has said they are “making a move.” We don’t know many details about that move yet, but we will keep you updated. Y’all, we are FLIPPING out over here for the best reason! This is THE BEST day! Over in Disneyland, there are lots of delicious dining options to try, even at quick-service restaurants (although some people think the only good dishes require dining reservations, that’s not the case!). In fact, one of our favorite entrees in the park is FINALLY now available at a quick-service location, and we couldn’t be happier. Over at Royal St Veranda in New Orleans Square, the beloved Monte Cristo Sandwich is now on the menu for $13.99! This is filled with Ham, Turkey, and Swiss Cheese, dusted with Powdered Sugar, and served with Jam, and we were crossing our fingers that it would be just as good as the Monte Cristos you can find at Cafe Orleans and Blue Bayou Restaurant. Thankfully, IT IS! Monte Cristo Sandwich at Royal St. Veranda This is the best quick service entree here, since the Monte Cristo Waffle, in our opinion, and you can get this all day, unlike the waffle! The sweet, fluffy, and sugary outside was warm and perfectly crunchy, but it was soft inside with the sweet, salty, and savory ham we love. The turkey was hard to make out between the ham and Swiss cheese, but the jam added a fresh and sweet berry flavor that went perfectly with the fried and sweet funnel cake-like outside. We can’t get enough If you’re looking for a sweet and savory meal that’s borderline on being a dessert, we can’t recommend this enough. It’s also a cheaper and quicker way to get your Monte Cristo fix than dining at Cafe Orleans, which is great for days when you’re trying to pack as much into your day as possible! Sweet AND savory! We also grabbed the Coffee Fritters for $7.29, which are rolled in Cinnamon Sugar, drizzled with a White Mocha Sauce, and garnished with a Praline Sugar Streusel. Coffee Fritters Unfortunately, we weren’t a big fan of these. The texture was soft and warm, basically like a fresh donut hole, but the coffee flavor was too strong for us and needed either more cinnamon or more of the mocha sauce to balance it out. With coffee being the main flavor and everything else being barely noticeable, it felt boring to us. If you love coffee, this may be for you, but if you aren’t huge on straight coffee and normally get it flavored or with syrup, we suggest skipping. Texture was great, flavor was off Looking for more recent Disneyland Resort news? Check out our posts below! More Recent Disneyland Resort News! For many guests, the most frustrating part of a trip to the “Most Magical Place on Earth is playing the Disney World waiting Game. Deciding how long to wait for a given ride, if it’s worth a Lightning Lane, etc. Standby queue at TRON I’ve been visiting Disney World for over 30 years, and sometimes it’s even tough for me to determine how much time a ride is “worth.” However, some baseline numbers make it a bit easier to figure it out. Halloween season has officially hit Orlando, and while you may be most familiar with Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party in Disney World and Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Orlando, there’s ANOTHER event you can’t miss this year. It’s time for Howl-O-Scream! Over at SeaWorld Orlando, you’ll find their Howl-O-Scream event back this season, and it’s full of more frights than you may have ever expected to see in this theme park! While this event has the lowest-priced tickets of all three events, is it truly worth the cost? We went on opening night, and in our opinion, the answer is YES! SeaWorld Orlando’s Howl-O-Scream event offers five haunted houses, six scare zones, and four shows, with nine of those offerings being brand-new this year! Tickets range in price from $45.99 for single-night tickets to $99.99 for the Two Park Unlimited Scream Pass. Time to have some fun! We started with the haunted houses and decided to go in order, because the houses are usually designed so that the exit of one is close to the entrance of the next. First up was a new house, The Collector’s Curse, which is all about a demented collector of antiques who lures helpless victims to his home by advertising an estate sale. The Collector’s Curse This house was beautifully designed, but it wasn’t necessarily terrifying. That’s something worth noting here: the scares at Howl-O-Scream don’t hit the same extreme level as other events. On one hand, that means extreme horror fans might find it more tame, but it also makes it accessible to people who are just stepping into the horror scene, or aren’t big fans of jump scares. We still screamed and jumped plenty, but the artistry and storytelling of this house is so campy, stylish, and fun that it all feels more “cool” than overwhelming. A beautifully designed house! The next house was called The Rave Yard, and it ended up being our favorite concept! It’s basically a rave where everyone is dead — it’s drenched in neon and blacklight, packed with young partiers trapped in a rave they can’t escape, and filled with undead ravers. We would have loved for the house to end in an actual dance party, but obviously, that’s not feasible from a crowds perspective. Who’s ready for a great time? This house was followed by two returning houses. The first was Water’s Edge Wellness Center, which is a spa-gone-wrong with a hydrotherapy room full of corpses. Receptionists, doctors, clients, everyone around you is dead, and they all want you to check in and stay. Water’s Edge Wellness Center Then it was time for Farm 51, which puts you in the middle of an alien invasion in a farmhouse! Everyone yells at you to get out, but the over-the-top alien effects and immersive farmhouse sets pull you deeper in. We can see why it’s returning this year — it’s a solid house. Farm 51 The final house is The Widow’s Nest, which is new this year. This seemed to have an orphanage theme, led by a crazed Miss Hannigan–style character (the orphanage caretaker from Annie) who kept shouting at us about why our parents didn’t want us anymore. It was weirdly hilarious and creepy all at once, and that balance — serious scares for thrill-seekers, but loads of camp, artistry, and humor for everyone else — again sets Howl-O-Scream apart. The Widow’s Nest We then headed into the scare zones, which overall felt less intense this year. Some of them were so understated we didn’t notice them, but then there were new ones like Ashes of the Forgotten, Woodrot Hollow, Trailer Park Tragedy, and Echoes in the Glass that made their mark. Our favorite was Trailer Park Tragedy, which leaned hard into humor, as it’s a run-down trailer park with scare actors in white tank tops and Southern accents, lugging tires around pickup trucks and broken trailers. It was absurd, hilarious, and totally worked! Time for scare zones! However, what really sets this event apart is the entertainment! There’s a brand-new show this year called Throttle, which introduces a new icon, Havoc. According to the guide, he’s not here to haunt you — he’s here to rule you. He’s a skeleton-faced villain with glowing purple eyes and a lean, muscular build. Havoc! The show combines dirt bikes performing insane stunts on ramps and platforms with live heavy metal music, pyrotechnics so hot they had us worried our phone would overheat, and a cast of dancers. Havoc brings women up “from the audience” (however, they were clearly planted there, don’t worry, you’re not being pulled up on stage), dances with them, then kills them with a thrust and neck snap as the stunt riders circle and flames explode. We were blown away by the production value and the sheer audacity of it all, although we do definitely encourage that this show is ONLY for adults and older kids (we suggest 16+). Throttle The fan-favorite show here is Monster Stomp at the Nautilus Theatre. This is a Victorian-era musical featuring Jack the Ripper, with incredible live vocals, choreography, costumes, and stagecraft. The percussion sequence where performers use knives as instruments was a major standout to us, as is the skeleton dance under blacklight. Monster Stomp The leads of the show — a male vocalist channeling Jekyll and Hyde x Jack the Ripper, and a female vocalist similar to a gothic Lucy — anchor the story beautifully, and we overall loved the version this year even more than the year prior! Drumming with knives! We can’t forget about the merchandise and food at this event! Themed retail locations at the exit of Mako and the exit of the event itself feature 5th anniversary Howl-O-Scream merch. Food and drink stands are all around the park and have exclusive offerings you can’t get any other time. Merchandise! At the Fanta-sponsored Fright House booth, we tried the Eerie Eyeball Mocktail, which is made with Fanta Orange and Minute Maid Lemonade with black edible glitter for $9.99. Ours came without the glitter, since the team member working the booth didn’t have all the ingredients on opening night, but that didn’t change the fact that it was delicious! It’s very sweet, though, like sipping a liquid Jolly Rancher, but we weren’t complaining. Eerie Eyeball Mocktail Overall, to us, it feels like SeaWorld put more money into entertainment this year, maybe at the expense of the scare zones, but we think that’s a fair trade-off. The houses and shows were so strong that we didn’t miss the zones as much, and the zones that were standouts were well-executed and still immersive with solid lighting, fog, and plenty of energy. The design choices across the event lean into a very conscious sense of “cool.” Everything is over the top, campy, stylish, and self-aware — to us, it has the resources of a world-class theme park, but the spirit of a local community haunt, which we’re kinda obsessed with. The entertainment is incredible! You can also ride four of SeaWorld’s most popular attractions during this event — Mako, Pipeline, Ice Breaker, and Infinity Falls! We personally rode Mako during our visit, and diving headfirst 200 feet down truly created such a thrill; it felt like it was part of the event itself! Ice Breaker We think this event is a great choice for those who are just entering the horror scene and want something entertaining, immersive, and spooky to start out with. Even if you’re usually a fan of more scary events, we still think this is a must-visit for all Halloween fiends in the area! They’re also non-reloadable, and you can’t return or refund them, but the good news is they never expire. When it comes to using them, it’s pretty simple: just present the card in person to a Cast Member at participating locations, or enter the number and PIN during checkout online. If you’re planning a big trip, having a $500 gift card ready to go makes budgeting a little easier—and more importantly, you’re getting it for less than face value.
