This Amazon find for our Disney World trips might be our biggest FAIL yet! Epic fail for us at Disney World We’re used to scouring even the furthest depths of Amazon for the latest deals we can rummage up to make our next Disney World visit even more seamless and enjoyable. So when we spotted this everyday essential, we were hopeful they’d be life-changing. But we’re still left scratching our heads about where this all went so WRONG! When you spend all day around Disney World, subjected to the Orlando humidity and sun, chances are you’re gonna feel the sweat. And that’s not even the worst part of it — it’s the impending doom of smelling due to the sweat that might loom over your head, casting a shadow on your day at the parks. ©Disney You’ve already applied your deodorant for the day, but that’s melting off of you faster than you can bet, and soon you’ll be out of options since your stick just melted in your bag from the beaming rays. What do you do? Well, that’s exactly the question we hoped to answer with this latest Amazon find. We happened upon these Lume Acidified Deodorant Wipes, which hyped whole body protection for 24 hours in a cool cucumber scent that was made to leave you feeling refreshed. And with thousands of positive reviews, we were feeling really hopeful. Lume Acidified Deodorant Wipes However, what we were met with was anything BUT those claims. SEE THEM HERE We tried desperately to give these wipes a chance and even used almost half a pack throughout testing them just to give them a fair shake. They’re made for use practically anywhere to freshen up and are supposed to leave behind a light scent. ©Amazon However, the only time we smelled the scent was when we initially opened the package, and as time went on, we ended up using them more for cleaning rather than on our bodies. Ideally, we were looking for a product that would make us smell nice, help us feel a bit cleaner, and give us peace of mind on long Disney days — unfortunately, this brand just didn’t make the cut with us. Maybe we got a bad batch? But we were just expecting so much more. YOU’VE BEEN WARNED Not all hope is lost, though! We’re keen to recognize that not every brand for a product we try is an instant success. While we’re used to having good luck with things on the first try, there’s another brand of similar deodorant wipes that caught our eye. ©Amazon We’ve also noticed these Refresh Deodorant Wipes by Dew Well. Pixar fans, you may be booking a trip to Hong Kong Disneyland soon! As soon as you see the concept art for this new Disney show, you’ll understand why a trip is undoubtedly on your horizon. Disney Friends Live at the Castle at Hong Kong Disneyland Yes, there’s a new Moana restaurant and Villains are taking over Main Street later this month at Hong Kong Disneyland, but Disney just revealed NEW concept art for an upcoming Pixar theatrical experience that we think fans will love! Disney just revealed a new concept art photo, which gives us a look into the new immersive theatrical experience coming to Hong Kong Disneyland! At this time, there’s no timeline announced, but we do know that it’ll star some of our favorite Pixar Pals and feature at least one iconic set from Monsters, Inc.! ©Disney Based on the concept art, we can see Mike Wazowski, Sulley, and Boo on stage, as well as members of the Child Detection Agency (CDA), who not only appear on stage, but look like they’re in the audience as well! (Hmm…mysterious!) While we can see Boo’s door, as well as another door she’s holding onto, it looks like the stage as a whole could fit many different Pixar films if other set aspects were changed. We can’t wait to see what else this show brings! Woody and Buzz in Hong Kong Disneyland Disney teased that the show will “celebrate the joy of friendship and the power of play,” so we have a feeling that this will be geared to families with young children. Believe it or not, Toy Story is about to turn 30 years old — and if that makes you feel old, you’re not alone. Toy Story 5 In celebration of this huge milestone and the upcoming release of Toy Story 5 (yes, five!!), AMC Theatres is releasing new Toy Story souvenirs — including a new popcorn bucket! Toy Story 5 is set to hit theaters on June 19th, 2026, and this millennial happens to be VERY excited about it. Not only that, but the original Toy Story film is coming back to theaters for its 30th anniversary! Following a brief existential crisis in which I realized this movie is almost as old as I am, I got even more excited when I realized that meant Toy Story popcorn buckets and more are coming to AMC Theatres! That’s right, Toy Story is back in theaters across the United States, and at AMC, a new popcorn tin with a character topper, a light-up cup, and a cup with a character topper are hitting theaters as well! The popcorn tin includes a large popcorn, while both cups include a large drink. ©AMC Theatres As part of the lead-up to the new film, scheduled for release on June 19th, 2026, as well as the 30th anniversary of the franchise, the original 1995 Toy Story will be returning to theaters on September 12th. In addition, Disney announced that Buzz Lightyear, as well as Spider-Man and Minnie Mouse, would be returning to the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in balloon form. Tomorrowland fans, you’re going to want to sit down for this one. Astro Orbiter At Destination D23 in Disney World, Disney dropped some major news about updates coming to Magic Kingdom’s Tomorrowland. We’re talking ride overlays, attraction refreshes, and even some completely new technology making its way into a beloved classic. With announcements covering TRON Lightcycle / Run, Carousel of Progress, and Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin, there’s a lot to take in. Let’s break it all down so you’re ready for what’s ahead. TRON Lightcycle / Run Overlay In case you missed it, TRON Lightcycle / Run is about to get a futuristic glow-up in celebration of the new Disney film Tron: Ares, releasing October 10th, 2025. For a limited time, the attraction will swap its iconic blue tones for a bold red overlay. That means both the visuals and the ride vehicles themselves are getting an entirely new look. ©Disney Disney Imagineers revealed that not only will the canopy and track pulse with vibrant red hues, but the Lightcycles will take on the same color as well. Guests can also expect their ride photos to reflect the new design, which means your ride snapshot is going to look dramatically different from what you’re used to. ©Disney But the changes don’t stop there. A brand-new soundtrack is also coming to the attraction, with Nine Inch Nails providing industrial-inspired music designed to mirror the intensity of the new film. Disney explained, “The pulsating industrial sounds of Nine Inch Nails will drive the ride’s energy, pushing your experience between the Grid and reality into a fully immersive, futuristic symphony of light, speed, and sound.” ©Disney This limited-time overlay kicks off September 15th at Magic Kingdom (and September 16th at Shanghai Disneyland). Disney hasn’t shared how long it will run, so if you want to experience this one-of-a-kind ride transformation, make sure you prioritize it during your visit this fall. Carousel of Progress Update Now let’s talk about a true Disney classic. Carousel of Progress has been delighting Magic Kingdom guests since the 1970s, but the attraction’s history goes all the way back to the 1964 World’s Fair. For decades, fans have enjoyed watching John, Sarah, and their family move through the decades of technological progress, but big news is coming for this Tomorrowland staple. Carousel of Progress Disney Imagineers announced that the attraction will soon debut an animatronic of Walt Disney himself. That’s right—after more than 30 years without updates, the show will be refreshed to include a brand-new opening scene featuring a lifelike figure of Walt. The addition was created in collaboration with The Walt Disney Family Museum, whose executive director called it an exciting milestone to celebrate Walt’s vision and inspire new generations. ©Disney This won’t be the first time we’ve seen Walt brought to life in animatronic form—Disneyland Park recently introduced a figure of him in Walt Disney: A Magical Life. But this marks the very first animatronic of Walt at Disney World, and the fact that it’s in Carousel of Progress makes perfect sense. Walt Disney — A Magical Life Details about updates to the other scenes are still under wraps, but Disney has hinted that changes may be coming for John, Sarah, and the rest of the family, too. No timeline has been announced just yet, but we’ll be keeping an eye out for construction updates and new reveals. Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin And finally, Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin is getting a major round of upgrades. The attraction temporarily closed on August 4th, 2025, to prepare for the updates, and it will reopen next year with some pretty big changes. It’s closed! First, riders will meet a brand-new character named Buddy. Buddy is a cheerful support robot created by Walt Disney Imagineering and Pixar Animation Studios, and he’ll welcome guests to Star Command before they blast off on their mission. This opening scene is designed to be interactive, giving guests the chance to practice their aim and prepare for their fight against Zurg. ©Disney Second, the ride vehicles themselves are getting a redesign inspired by Buzz Lightyear’s classic Star Command colors. They’ll now feature video monitors that display real-time scoring updates and new gameplay elements, which means you’ll be able to track your progress while zapping targets throughout the ride. New ride vehicle for Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin And speaking of zapping, the blasters are also being completely reimagined. Guests will use handheld blasters equipped with always-on lasers, vibration effects, and lighting cues so you can actually see where you’re aiming. Each star cruiser will also feature two different blaster colors, making it easier for players to track their own shots. ©Disney Finally, the ride’s static “Z” targets are being upgraded with new interactive technology. Targets will now light up and react when hit, adding a more dynamic layer to gameplay. Disney Imagineers recently tested the new targets and blasters, and the project’s creative director said the team learned a lot during the playtests. These changes should make the ride feel fresh, modern, and more fun for guests of all ages. ©Disney What This Means for Tomorrowland All of these updates show that Disney is investing heavily in Tomorrowland’s future. With a high-tech TRON overlay, a refreshed Carousel of Progress, and a fully upgraded Space Ranger Spin, the land is getting a mix of nostalgic nods and cutting-edge enhancements. On September 12th, a smoke alarm went off on Main Street, U.S.A. in Disneyland, prompting the evacuation of several stores and a restaurant. Main Street, U.S.A. in Disneyland Sometimes things happen in Disney Parks that you can’t control. There may be emergencies from time to time, and those situations can cause evacuations and closures. We often see rides evacuated and closed, and we recently learned about an incident during the Paint The Night parade where smoke was coming from one of the parade floats. Now, a new evacuation is unfolding in Disneyland, and we have the details. When we were visiting Disneyland today, we noticed that the Emporium, one of the main shops on Main Street, U.S.A., was closed. Candy Palace was also closed, along with the restaurant, Carnation Cafe. There were also smoke alarms going off at the time, suggesting that there was smoke in the area. Evacuation on Main Street, U.S.A. Eventually, Candy Palace and the Emporium reopened, but Carnation Cafe remains closed. We spoke with Cast Members who told us that an incident occurred and that there was no word yet on when the restaurant would reopen. We’re not sure exactly what happened, but it’s possible that there was a fire in the Carnation Cafe. Carnation Cafe If you ever hear fire alarms in a Disney Park, the best thing you can do is follow Cast Member instructions, which will help you evacuate safely with other guests. Cast Members are well-prepared to handle these kinds of things, so make sure you listen to them when emergencies like this arise. We’ll be keeping an eye on the situation and let you know when Carnation Cafe reopens, so stay tuned to DFB for more. Disney World’s highly anticipated Pirates of the Caribbean-themed tavern is finally open, and we learned A LOT during our first visit! Beak and Barrel The Beak and Barrel opened to reservation-only crowds and peak excitement — seriously, I have been covering Disney Parks for decades and have rarely seen excitement levels this high for a new eatery — at the end of August. We’ve already dropped a full review of the restaurant’s pirate-themed food and drinks, but there was plenty more we learned during our visit. The Time Limit is Strict Like Oga’s Cantina in Galaxy’s Edge before it, The Beak and Barrel has a 45-minute time limit, and it’s one Disney is strictly enforcing. Island Provisions We were reminded of the policy when we sat down, and were served our check as soon as the 45-minute mark hit. Given how much there is to see inside the tavern, it can be easy to let time slip by, but definitely be cognizant so you don’t hit the time limit with unfinished food and drinks. Reservations are the Only Way In… for Now. While Disney revealed long before opening that the Beak and Barrel would technically be reservation-only, some still thought that the tavern would have a walk-up list to make up for no-shows and walkouts. During our visit, we confirmed that this would NOT be the case for the tavern, and that there would be no walk-up list for the tavern at least through the end of the year. However, that doesn’t mean that you should give up if you’re unable to get a reservation as soon as your window opens… The Beak and Barrel Reservation Drops Similar to Disney’s other major 2025 lounge — EPCOT’s GEO-82 — reservations for The Beak and Barrel can appear to disappear quickly. However, Disney will often drop new reservations on a daily basis to make up for cancellations, openings based on operations, etc. We’d definitely advise you to diligently check the app each day, as you’ll usually be able to find something at some point before your visit. Booking The Beak & Barrel on the My Disney Experience App ©Disney Seating is Not Guaranteed If you are able to score a Beak and Barrel reservation, that doesn’t necessarily mean you’ll have seats at a table. The tavern does feature tables, but there is also barstool seating and standing room only areas, and given the current level of crowds, there’s really not much choice in where you end up. The Beak and Barrel Be Prepared to Miss Some Elements Depending on which room you’re seated in, there may be some elements of theming you miss out on during your visit. For example, you’ll need to be seated in the main room to fully experience Rummy the animatronic’s various bits and skirts. Given the extensive amount of easter eggs and lore spread throughout the restaurant, this is almost unavoidable. Rummy! A store is set to close on the Disney World BoardWalk — but it won’t be the end for Promenade Fine Art Gallery. Promenade Fine Art Gallery at Disney’s Boardwalk We confirmed with store employees that Promenade will be closing at Disney’s BoardWalk on October 19th and will be moving to a new location. Promenade Fine Art Gallery has been part of the BoardWalk for years, but its time there is coming to an end. The final day to shop at this location will be October 19th. Promenade Fine Art Gallery When we asked where the new location would be, we were told they couldn’t “confirm or deny” just yet. We asked if it was somewhere on Disney World property, but they weren’t able to share that with us either. No official opening date has been shared for the new location yet, but keep an eye out for an official announcement from Promenade Fine Art Gallery about where and when you’ll be able to find Disney fine art. Promenade In addition to the location at the BoardWalk, Promenade also has an open display located at Artist Point at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, and another full gallery in St. Petersburg, Florida. In celebration of the resort’s 15th anniversary in 2020, the resort unveiled the spectacular transformation of Sleeping Beauty Castle into the majestic Castle of Magical Dreams. Inspired by 13 stories of Disney Princesses and Queens, this architectural marvel blends elements from Chinese, European, and Southeast Asian cultures, symbolizing courage and hope and serves as a beacon of the park. “The castle is the heart and soul of any given Disney Magic Kingdom-style park,” Kelly Willis, Executive Creative Director of Walt Disney Imagineering Hong Kong who oversaw the transformation, said. “We wanted to transform the image of Hong Kong Disneyland to mark a new era of the resort.” In tribute to 100 years of Disney, in 2023, Hong Kong Disneyland Resort unveiled a first-of-its-kind bronze statue of Walt Disney and Mickey Mouse. If you’re visiting Disney World for the first time, you might not be familiar with some of the rules you’ll need to know about at certain attractions. Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway in Disneyland Sure, you might have researched things like the height requirements on rides, especially if you have children. You’ve probably even checked ride safety guidelines (and be sure to listen to Cast Members when you board rides). One thing you may not be thinking of, though, is your cell phone. Now, using your cell phone on rides is a controversial topic, but there are some rides that have restricted the use of cell phones in both Disney World and Disneyland. Recently, we’ve noticed that some rides have explicitly added signs to notify guests that cellphones are not allowed. We’ve seen this specifically on Space Mountain, as well as on Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway in Disneyland (we’re still waiting to see if Disney World will follow suit). Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway in Disneyland Rides like TRON Lightcycle / Run, though, may instruct you to put your things away in a locker before you ride. In other instances, we’ve been told by Cast Members to put our phones away or are highly encouraged to stash ALL our belongings (phones included) in provided bins or bags inside rides. TRON Lightcycle / Run Here’s a list of rides where you’ll either see signage telling you to stash your phone away, or you’ll be highly encouraged to put it away during the ride: Disney World Magic Kingdom Space Mountain TRON Lightcycle / Run Big Thunder Mountain Railroad EPCOT Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind Soarin’ Disney’s Hollywood Studios Tower of Terror Star Tours Disney’s Animal Kingdom Dinosaur Flight of Passage Flight of Passage Note that if a Cast Member tells you to put your belongings away, including your cell phone, you should do as asked, no matter the ride. Sometimes, a Cast Member might not spot your phone, but that doesn’t necessarily mean the rule doesn’t apply at these attractions. Disney is finally making a long-awaited change, and we’re just a wee bit nervous. Carousel of Progress At the 2025 D23 Ultimate Fan Event, Disney made a surprise announcement that major changes were coming to the iconic Carousel of Progress at the Magic Kingdom. A Walt Disney animatronic — similar to the one that debuted at Disneyland earlier this year — will now be part of the attraction’s pre-show, and the entire presentation will be updated, likely with a new finale. I’ve been covering Disney’s theme parks for 6+ years — and visiting them for 5X as long — and for most of that time I’ve been banging the drum for the Carousel of Progress’s dated 1994 finale to be updated. Yet, the news out of D23 — while welcome — has me feeling a bit apprehensive. I’m 100% on board with the Walt Disney animatronic as, arguably, there’s no attraction where he belongs more than in the Carousel of Progress, plus the concept art indicates he’ll be in a mock-up of the Imagineering studio set from the classic 1960s Disney television series, complete with several classic easter eggs. ©Disney Also, as stated above, I’m all for the attraction’s dated 1994 finale to be replaced. (Apologies to all the fans of Resident Flying Ace Grandma.) The “Resident Flying Ace” is about to be grounded. So, what am I concerned about? Well, in Disney’s official announcement of the attraction change, they wrote, “There are still plenty of additional details to be revealed, including what John, Sarah, and the rest of the family are up to. Disney Imagineers love this attraction and the heart of it will stay the same while introducing the Carousel of Progress to an entirely new generation of fans, showing them that a great big, beautiful tomorrow is just a dream away. “ While that sounds well and good on the surface, I must admit that the tone concerns me a bit. Carousel of Progress is a unique attraction in Disney history. Since its debut at the 1964 New York World’s Fair — and through moves across the country to Disneyland and then back to Walt Disney World — the attraction has been both a progress-focused look at the future, while at the same time being a nostalgic look at the past. That latter element has become even more important to the presentation in the last three decades, as the show has been treated almost as a museum-style tribute to Walt Disney. Carousel of Progress celebrates its own past My slight fear is that, while some changes are necessary, Disney may alter the first three acts of the show so much that they don’t resemble the classic version of the show, and in turn lose that aforementioned museum-like tribute quality. This would be especially ironic considering the addition of the Walt animatronic. “That’s progress for ya'” All of that said, however, I am overall excited for the Carousel of Progress refurbishment. The show has needed one for a long time; the addition of the Walt animatronic introduction makes perfect thematic sense, and a new future finale depicting a modern take on the “Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow” is much-needed. I’m just hoping that the mid-portion of the show doesn’t change too much. Stay tuned to DFB for more on this project. We’ve got a word of warning if you’re planning an upcoming visit to Disney World. Paddock Pool at Saratoga Springs The Paddock Pool, aquatic play area, and The Paddock Grill at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort will be closing in October for routine maintenance. We’ve got all the details, so let’s get into it! Heads up if you’ve got an upcoming stay planned at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort. Beginning on October 13th, The Paddock Pool, the splash pad area, and The Paddock Grill will all be closed for routine maintenance. The Disney World website indicates that they will remain closed through early December, but no official opening date has been announced. Paddock Pool The Paddock Pool is home to a 146-foot-long waterslide that flows from a water tower, and the nearby Paddock Grill is home to some classic pool fare like burgers, hot dogs, and more. Eats from Paddock Grill Luckily, you won’t be totally out of luck when it comes to pools at this hotel. In addition to The Paddock Pool, the High Rock Spring Pool features waterfalls, zero-depth entry, and a 128-foot-long waterslide. The nearby On the Rocks Pool Bar offers drinks and eats. High Rock Springs Pool There are also three leisure pools with whirlpool spas at the Treehouse Villas, Congress Park, and The Grandstand. While there isn’t an official end date to these closures yet, we’ll be sure to let you know once we learn more. A new initiative to increase Orange County’s hotel tax rates to fund infrastructure and transportation projects is gaining traction in Florida, per the Orlando Business Journal. Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa Rosen Hotels & Resorts CEO Frank Santos and government consultant Angel de la Portilla have proposed a new revenue stream that would support tourism while making things easier for local governments. As part of the proposed increase, Orange County’s tourist development tax (TDT) would go from 6% to as high as 10% — an amount that could generate an estimated $60 million per percentage point annually. This additional revenue could fund transportation projects, including the proposed SunRail weekend service, which would cost $22.7 million to $26.3 million per year. ©Visit Florida Proposal leaders Santos and De la Portilla are suggesting a new category called the tourist transportation tax (TTT). This would be a supplemental rate that counties could adopt to directly invest in infrastructure within designated zones. Florida residents would also be exempt from paying the additional tax when staying at hotels or vacation rentals. Florida Under the proposal, counties could opt to add 1-2% to their already existing TDT rate. New funds could then be earmarked exclusively for transportation and infrastructure projects in areas like International Drive and US-192. The current TDT structure requires 40% of funds collected to be spent on tourism promotion before they can be allocated to other tourism-related projects. The new tax would not alter that requirement, but would give more flexibility to address other needs. Drury Plaza Hotel Orlando “Florida’s tourism success story has entered a new chapter — one where investment in infrastructure must keep pace with marketing and promotion. TDT has proven enormously effective at funding advertising and attractions that draw visitors, but it has so far neglected the less glamorous yet crucial needs of transportation, roads, and facilities in our tourism corridors,” the proposal said. Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin De la Portilla said the proposal is designed “to spark a statewide conversation, with potential benefits for other tourism-driven counties” in Florida. It would require Florida Legislature approval, and advocates are hoping to make it a legislative priority for Orange County. UCF hospitality professor and Orange County Commissioner Kelly Semrad supported the increase during an August 26th meeting and noted the TDT rate hasn’t changed since 2006. Semrad said an increase would be aligned with Gov. DeSantis’ call to “tax those that don’t live amongst us, implying tourists.” Art of Animation As for how this will impact Disney World hotels and others in the area, that remains to be seen. We’ll be on the lookout for more updates on this potential hotel tax increase and what it could mean for you. Fun Spot America has rolled out a deal on two levels of passes that are valid from now through the end of 2026. The tickets — good at Fun Spot locations in Orlando, Kissimmee and near Atlanta — must be purchased by Oct. 31. They include unlimited access to the parks’ rides, including roller coasters, and their Go-Kart courses. The current season passes are on sale for $104.95 when purchased fun-spot.com. They are $114.95 when purchased at the park. Fun Spot’s Ultimate Season Passes sell for $249.95 online, $259.95 at the park. This version includes four complimentary single-day Fun Passes, a discount on additional Fun Passes, a souvenir cup for unlimited drink refills and one complimentary SkyCoaster flight per season. Both season passes include parking and have discounts on food, beverage and merchandise. They do not have block-out dates. The locations in Kissimmee and near Orlando’s International Drive feature about 30 rides apiece, including a wooden roller coaster at each. The Orlando Fun Spot also has a Gator Spot location that’s included with the seasonal passes. In addition, Fun Spot now offers Florida residents a weekday ticket for $34.95 — a 50% discount from the posted price — when purchased at the attraction. Recently, we said goodbye to a classic Hollywood Studios attraction. Muppet*Vision 3D Muppet*Vision 3D and all of Muppets Courtyard closed earlier this year to make way for a new Monsters, Inc.-themed Land. Lots of fans showed up to bid goodbye to the iconic show and the other offerings in the area, but now we’ve got a new wave of sadness as construction begins. The Muppet*Vision sign has been covered up! When we stopped by Grand Avenue on a recent visit, we spotted a black tarp covering the old Muppet*Vision 3D sign. With this gone, it’s harder to tell what used to live in that building! The sign has been covered! The show closed officially on June 8th, so the sign remained uncovered for 3 months after the closure. It’s hard to make out much of what used to live in Muppets Courtyard now, but you can still see the tops of a few buildings from the street outside. No more sign The new Monsters, Inc. space is going to be home to several new offerings inspired by the Pixar movie. There will be a new dining location, as well as a roller coaster inspired by the door-riding scene from the film. Universal Orlando just dropped a new popcorn bucket! Universal Orlando We recently went to Halloween Horror Nights and found Universal’s all-new freaky popcorn bucket. We just couldn’t wait to show you, so take a look! Check out the brand-new HamiKuma Popcorn Bucket available at the Universal Orlando Resort for this year’s Halloween Horror Nights. HamiKuma Popcorn Bucket! The plastic popcorn bucket resembles a fluffy brown bear. The bucket has some cool details, including an eye falling out of his head on a spring, his grin full of crooked teeth, the stitching on his arms, and the candy falling out of his cut-open belly. You can buy the bucket for $39.99. Universal Orlando Halloween Horror Nights The bucket opening is on the back, where you can fill up the creepy bear with popcorn. This bucket even makes sounds, with a speaker located on its head. The battery compartment and switch are behind the speaker. Also, when you buy this thing, your first popcorn fill is free! ©Universal So, who is HamiKuma? HamiKuma is an original character created for Universal Studios Japan. In Japanese, HamiKuma’s name translates literally to “protruding bear.” The bear’s design was meant to fit the “kowa-kawa” style — a very popular Japanese style that means “scary cute”. However, HamiKuma wasn’t always this creepy; there’s a story behind his transformation. ©Universal When HamiKuma was alive, he was a sideshow act in a travelling circus. It’s said he attracted big crowds wherever he went — because he was THAT cute. All the other performers in the circus became consumed by jealousy over the amount of attention that HamiKuma received, and decided he couldn’t possibly be a real bear. One night, they trapped HamiKuma in the big top and slashed his belly open to try to reveal his true identity. However, they were surprised to find no one was inside. To cover their tracks, the performers burned down the big top, and HamiKuma lost his life. ©Universal If you thought it was the end, it wasn’t! In the afterlife, the demon Death Bringer worked its way into HamiKuma’s open belly, granting the bear eternal life and the ability to continue performing. However, as HamiKuma was ripped back into the world, this left his guts, as well as other mysteries, just waiting to spill out. The character originated from Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios Japan in 2021. His weird yet lovable appearance drew fans in instantly! Now, he’s officially making his international debut. Be prepared to be SCARED! If you want to check out the scary event, you can buy tickets online now for select dates. Ticket prices for this very popular event vary per date and start at $82.99 per person for a single-night ticket and range up to $122.99. You can find tickets on the Universal Orlando Resort website. Just be aware that Halloween Horror Nights is fairly intense and not recommended for anyone younger than 13 years old.
