  1. If you’re riding Test Track in EPCOT, don’t make the mistakes we did! Test Track This popular thrill ride was recently revamped for the second time, making Test Track 3.0. Since then, it has been pretty popular, and fans are lining up in droves to check it out. But we’ve made some mistakes when riding Test Track in the past that we want to help you avoid! The Single Rider Line Can Save a LOT of Time One thing that has stayed consistent with the new version of Test Track is the single rider queue. A few thrill rides in Disney World have single rider queues, and while some are great…others are time wasters. But Test Track? Its single rider queue is SUPREME. Queue entrance to Test Track We’ve used the single rider queue here many times, and it often cuts the wait time down significantly. You’ll be split from your party, but if you can avoid waiting in an hour-plus queue, it could be worth it! Plus, the regular queue isn’t so interesting that we’d call it a must-do to wait standby. Why This Hollywood Studios Single Rider Line Is a Blessing and a Curse It’s More Popular Than You Think! Don’t go strolling into EPCOT thinking that you’ll just walk right on Test Track…this ride is POPULAR. Not only does it often have waits over an hour (sometimes 2 hours on really busy days), but it’s also a Tier 1 Lightning Lane Multi Pass selection. Test Track What does that mean? Well, when you make your initial Lightning Lane Multi Pass selections for EPCOT, you’ll be able to choose one attraction from Tier 1 and two attractions from Tier 2. That means you’ll have to choose between Test Track, Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure, and Frozen Ever After for your initial Tier 1 selection. After you use your first Lightning Lane Multi Pass selection of the day, the tiers “disappear,” but that’s still some pressure to make the right choice when you book. Learn How to Use Lightning Lane Multi Pass Here! An Old School Jump Scare Is Still There Remember the scene with the large semi truck where it used to pop out of seemingly nowhere and scare you as you rode around the corner in your test car? Well, it’s still there in the new version of the ride! Ready to load So if you have a small child who’s sensitive to jump scares, you may want to warn them before boarding the ride, or right before the scene takes place. It may also be a good idea to have them sit in the middle seat of the vehicle. 8 Deeply Unsettling Rides in Disney World There’s ONE Item You Need to Bring If there’s ONE item you need to pack in your park bag for riding Test Track, it’s a hair tie! Seriously, we’ve made the mistake one too many times of wearing our hair down on this ride, only to end up with a rat’s nest after the outdoor speed portion of the attraction. Outdoor section If you want to be extra cautious, it’s a good idea to pack a small hairbrush in your park bag as well. That way, if you do end up with tangles, you’ll be able to smooth everything out and go on with your day looking fabulous. This was a lesson learned the hard way. Check out the new queue! 4. To say we were devastated when Disney revealed that Muppets Courtyard would be going away forever at Hollywood Studios would be an understatement. But the new details and construction sneak peeks we get about the new Monsters, Inc. land that will be replacing The Muppets make us feel just a little bit better each time. RIP the Miss Piggy fountain Speaking of which, we just got a look at some new aerial photos of Monstropolis construction, and it looks like things are moving right along! Thanks to our pal @bioreconstruct, who shared these aerial photos on social media, we’ve got a pretty solid idea of how things are shaping up over in Monstropolis! You can see that most of the ground covering has been cleared, leaving just dirt behind. In addition, pretty much any semblance of Muppet-theming has been removed, and there seems to be a lot more grey. via @bioreconstruct This angle gives us a better look at the former PizzeRizzo, which does appear to still have some of its awning and signage up. Rat pizza is officially off the menu, boys. via @bioreconstruct Below, we can see the former Muppets storefront along with the main Mama Melrose structure, which was the only table-service restaurant in this land. While Disney has yet to officially confirm it, the concept art for Monstropolis shows Harryhausen’s restaurant. via @bioreconstruct Could this mean we are getting a sushi restaurant in Disney’s Hollywood Studios? We feel pretty confident about this one because it was shown in all 3 of Disney’s concept art of this land. We are eager to hear more details on the menu and specifics of this restaurant! ©Disney In addition to the new restaurant, Monstropolis will also be home to Disney World’s first suspension coaster, themed after the door chase scene from the Monsters, Inc. movie. This coaster will be part of an expansion into part of what was a Cast Member parking lot, and from the photo below, it looks like Disney has cleared the land for this structure and is working on pouring the foundation. via @bioreconstruct The story of the new land will pick up after the events of the popular Pixar film, and humans have now been invited to visit the world of Monsters, Inc. Disney shares that here, “you’ll be able to stroll the streets alongside some of your favorite monsters” and even visit the Laugh Factory! While we await details, in November 2024, Disney also revealed that Monsters, Inc. Land will have a new theater show. 5. Earlier this year, Disney released some news that had all of our hearts dropping, but at the time, it seemed so far away from coming true. Pixar Place Hotel Back in August, Disney announced that they would be ENDING two very popular hotel perks over at Disneyland Resort, and if we’re being honest, it really takes away a lot of value from paying more to stay on property. Here’s a reminder to ALL of us that starting in 2026, you’ll no longer get Early Entry as a hotel guest OR be able to take the special entrance into the park if you’re staying at Pixar Place Hotel. On January 5th, 2026, Early Theme Park Entry is going away at Disneyland Hotel for all guests, and instead, they’ll receive one Lightning Lane per person, per stay. This Lightning Lane will be part of Lightning Lane Multi Pass and can help you skip the line at most rides, except for Radiator Springs Racers and Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance. Disneyland Hotel Until then, the perk is available for guests of Disney’s Grand Californian Resort, Disneyland Hotel, and Pixar Place Hotel. On Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, Disneyland Park will open 30 minutes early, and on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, Disney California Adventure will open 30 minutes early. Grand California Hotel This isn’t the only big change hitting Disneyland Resort hotels on January 5th, either. When you stay at the Pixar Place Hotel now, there’s a special entrance into Disney California Adventure exclusive to guests. However, beginning on January 5th, 2026, using this entrance will no longer be available. This is due to construction and new projects coming to the park, but this is a pretty big blow to hotel perks. 6. Disney is creating SO many new things for the theme parks at Disney World. From Villains Land to Monsters, Inc. Land to the Tropical Americas Land, there will be so many exciting new attractions, experiences, and restaurants in the next few years. To say we’re excited is an understatement! Encanto is coming to Animal Kingdom! Even though we have so much to look forward to, we have a pretty good feeling that one Disney World park is going to be EMPTY in 2026. We love this park so much, but we gotta be honest here. It’s not looking good for Animal Kingdom in the new year. We know new rides, entertainment, and more are on the horizon for Animal Kingdom, so why in the world would we think it will be empty in 2026? Well, for starters, all the new and exciting things probably won’t be opening for quite some time. There has not been a timeline announced for the opening of Pueblo Esperanza, but if we had to guess, we would bet it will be several YEARS until we’re stepping into the land of the Tropical Americas. Construction walls at Animal Kingdom Dinoland, U.S.A., will be completely extinct after February 1st, 2026. That means no Dinosaur ride, no TriceraTop Spin, no Boneyard, and no Restaurantasaurus. These rides and restaurants will all be permanently closed, leaving a dinosaur-sized gap in the ride offerings at Animal Kingdom. DinoLand, U.S.A. Once they have totally boarded up these rides, only Expedition Everest, Na’vi River Journey, Flight of Passage, Kilimanjaro Safaris, and Kali River Rapids will be open. DINOSAUR Of course, there are more things to do at Animal Kingdom besides the rides. There are nature walks where you can see many different species of animals, the new Zootopia: Better Zoogether show, Pandora (totally an attraction all on its own), Finding Nemo: The Big Blue…and Beyond, Rafiki’s Planet Watch, and more. But with Dinoland, U.S.A. closed, this is looking like a half-day park for many visitors in 2026. Zootopia: Better Zoogether! You might get lucky in 2026 with fewer crowds in Animal Kingdom, but it’s possible that you could see higher wait times since everyone will be congested at the five options, especially since all five rides are generally popular ones. We’ll be watching Animal Kingdom in 2026 to see how the closure of Dinoland affects it. In the meantime, we’ll be anxiously awaiting the new attractions and experiences in Pueblo Esperanza! 8. In a heartwarming moment of storytelling magic celebrating the Season of Giving, Walt Disney World’s Ambassadors stepped into the colorful world of The Learning Center, two onsite childcare hubs for Disney Cast Members filled with sunshine, smiles and sweet surprises!  Here at Disney, we take pride in creating spaces where our Cast Members and their families can strengthen their minds and hearts. While Cast Members are busy making magic, The Learning Center ensures their children are nurtured, engaged, and set up for their future. With thoughtfully designed programming, flexible options, and a touch of pixie dust, it offers the ultimate peace of mind for working families on property at Disney.  As part of an extra special surprise story time to kick off the season, the Walt Disney World Ambassadors read the Orange Bird Golden Book to students, including the children of Cast Members who regularly attend The Learning Center, operated by the Central Florida YMCA on Disney property.  To continue our mission of inspiring the next generation of storytellers, Walt Disney World gifted hundreds of copies of this story about a little orange bird with a big heart to The Learning Center. The Walt Disney World Ambassadors share a special story with a VPK class at The Learning Center. For more than 20 years, Disney has offered onsite childcare exclusively to its Cast Members, along with financial scholarships to help eligible employees with childcare costs. The Learning Center is a facility that hosts seasonal camps and childcare 365 days a year, providing convenient care options for Disney Cast Members with children onsite. “Providing high-quality, affordable early education programs to help children grow both academically and developmentally is The Learning Center’s mission,” said David Miller, Work Life Initiatives Program Manager for Walt Disney World and proud parent of a child who attended the Learning Center from age infant to VPK. “The childcare being an offering that’s supported by Disney is a unique opportunity for us to have the Disney differences included where characters are here sometimes for holiday parties and special events like the VPK graduation. It was one of the cutest things I’ve ever seen — pre-kindergarten kids singing and dancing and wearing their Mickey ears as they graduate!”    Walt Disney World Ambassador, Kylee Withers, shares a warm embrace with a child during a special storytime at The Learning Center. Childcare options like this are just one of the many perks Disney provides to support the well-being of Cast Members to inspire and empower them to be and do their best.  Our people are at the heart of everything we do here at Disney. 10. It’s been a BIG week for Disney news, but if you’ve only been looking in one place, or focusing on one park, you may have missed some of it! ©Disney No worries, though, because that’s what we’re here for! We keep up with all the latest Disney news around the globe to help you keep up-to-date on all the latest, because some of it very well may impact your next trip. While every week is full of Disney news, big and small, here are a few of the BIGGEST announcements you may have missed this week. EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays Friday, November 28th, EPCOT kicked off its last festival of the year, the International Festival of the Holidays! This is the park’s shortest festival, only lasting just over a month during the holiday season. You can enjoy dozens of special holiday offerings at the numerous holiday kitchens around the park, as well as enjoy holiday storytellers around World Showcase, and exclusive entertainment like Joyful! and the Candlelight Processional. 2025 EPCOT Festival of the Holidays Passport Don’t forget to meet Santa in CommuniCore Hall, Santa Goofy in The Odyssey, or Figment in his Christmas sweater over in the Imagination Pavilion! While there are lots of crowds this time of year due to the holiday season, you may find that the festival booths are less crowded than you find at other festivals, and that’s mostly due to the fact that this festival isn’t a favorite among guests. However, during lunch and dinner hours, you’ll find lines are at their longest, so you may want to plan ahead! Check out our reviews from ALL the 2025 International Festival of the Holidays booths right here! World of Frozen Opening Date We FINALLY got an official opening date for World of Frozen over in Disneyland Paris’ Walt Disney Studios Park, soon to be Disney Adventure World! This new land will open to the public on March 29th, 2026. ©Disney This land will look very similar to the one at Hong Kong Disneyland, which we visited a few years back and absolutely blew us away. The attractions? Incredible! The design? Breathtaking. It changed our lives, truly, but we’re so excited to see another version of this land open up in another park! ©Disney This will mean there will be Frozen worlds and/or attractions at Hong Kong Disneyland, Tokyo DisneySea, EPCOT at Disney World, and Disneyland Paris. Check out the sneak peek Disney revealed of the restaurants coming to World of Frozen here! New Animatronics! It blew our minds when Disney announced that a brand new Olaf animatronic would be coming to Disneyland Paris’ World of Frozen, too! He looks and moves JUST like he stepped out of the animated film, and it blows our minds. The best part? It’s Josh Gad’s voice, the true voice of Olaf, that we’ll hear coming from the lovable snowman as he walks around the parks! ©Disney That’s not all, though, because Disney also announced MORE animatronic technology that they’re working on! Disney mentioned that these animatronics can show emotion by blushing and crying. It was also mentioned that this new technology is “especially transformative for characters who had traditionally challenging features to create, like Mike Wazowski, Lightning McQueen, or Hades.” Mike Wazowski Considering we know a new Monsters, Inc. Land is coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios, as well as Piston Peak, a land inspired by Cars, AND Villains Land coming to Magic Kingdom, we will FLIP if we can see our favorite characters wandering around the parks like Olaf. Genuinely, we think we’d cry happy tears, so we’re crossing our fingers that this technology will be ready in time! Read more about the new animatronics Disney is working on here! 12. We’ve been eating a lot of holiday treats in Disney World, including treats at Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, Jollywood Nights, and the EPCOT Festival of the Holidays. That means we’ve tried a lot of peppermint-flavored things at this point. Care for a slice of cake? However, we just had a slice of cake at The Cake Bake Shop by Gwendolyn Rogers at Disney’s BoardWalk that blows away all its peppermint-flavored competition, so let’s talk about it. For a limited time, you can get the Peppermint Candy Cane Chocolate Cake at The Cake Bake Shop. Now, we know, these cake slices aren’t cheap…they’re $22 a pop. But the cake here is consistently good…and this slice is no different. You don’t even have to like peppermint to like it because the flavor is subtle enough that it’s not overwhelming the rest of the cake’s flavor. Peppermint Candy Cane Chocolate Cake It’s more like just kinda’ licking on a candy cane…but mixed with chocolate flavors. And those flavors blend well together. There are even crushed candy canes IN The cake between the layers of buttercream, and it almost reminds us of a peppermint sundae because it’s just so smooth, and the cake melts in your mouth. It’s SO good Yeah, we know, again, $22 for a slice of cake. But this is one of those little joys you need to treat yourself to during the holiday season. It’s also perfect for celebrating a special occasion because this cake is going to leave you with some happy memories…and isn’t that what visiting Disney World is all about? Stay tuned to DFB for more. REVIEW: A Beer That Tastes Like Thin Mints? Okay, Disney World, We Are IN. 13. There are so many perks to being a Disney Visa card member, and if we’re being honest, the perks just keep coming! Mickey and Minnie! Now, we know that getting another credit card isn’t for everyone, but if you’re looking for a way to save some money on Disney World vacations and merchandise, get access to exclusive events and souvenirs and more, getting yourself a Disney visa card may be a great choice. Especially because we tried out another new perk, and this one may be the best one yet! Earlier this year, Disney released a new Visa cardmember perk over in EPCOT that gets you into an exclusive meet and greet with special characters! You have to bring your Disney Visa card with you to show in order to get in line, and here’s the thing — you may not know who you’re going to meet. The Photo Spot! When we checked out this offering, which is over in World Nature, we noticed the line was pretty significant, and after a few minutes, we noticed a few people ahead of us ducking out of line to go do other things. The Cast Member at the front was keeping it a secret who was inside, and also couldn’t tell us how long the wait would be. Some of the line Now, this is pretty tucked away, though, so while Disney Visa Cardmembers may know ABOUT it, since there isn’t any signage until you’re RIGHT there, it’s a little hard to find. You can always ask a Cast Member if you need help to get where you’re going! We were so pleasantly surprised, because while the line did take a moment, we walked in to see none other than Mickey and Minnie! They were cute as can be and so lovely as always. There they are! For reference, we got in line around 2:16 PM and were walking out the door after the meet and greet at about 2:45 PM. Not too bad at all, BUT if you’re hoping for a super quick meet and greet experience, this one may take more time than you’re expecting. You do also get the photo you take as a complimentary gift, so even if you haven’t paid for Memory Maker, or don’t have the add-on to your Annual Pass, there’s no need to worry! 16. We’re heading into one of the busiest seasons of the year in Disney World. The holiday season is a great time to visit the parks, what with all the holiday decor, Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, Jollywood Nights, and the EPCOT Festival of the Holidays. However, this time can also be very crowded, especially when you get closer to Christmas Day. Lightning Lane at Peter Pan’s Flight Well, ahead of Christmas Day, on December 20th, we spotted some of the highest Lightning Lane Multi Pass prices we’ve seen all year, which is a good indication that Disney World is expecting some good crowds on that day. On December 20th, the price for Lightning Lane Multi Pass in Magic Kingdom is a whopping $42, which is up from the previous day, December 19th, which is at $35. This is one of the highest prices we’ve seen for the service that lets you skip the standby lines in Disney World, and it is the highest price we’ve seen this year. However, Lightning Lane Multi Pass prices aren’t deviating a lot during that time for the other three parks: $35 for EPCOT $35 for Disney’s Hollywood Studios $29 for Disney’s Animal Kingdom “it’s a small world” Lightning Lane Premium Pass in Magic Kingdom also jumps up on that day from $399 on December 19th to $429 on December 20th. However, again, prices for the service of the other parks remain about the same around that time: $239 for EPCOT $339 for Disney’s Hollywood Studios $189 for Disney’s Animal Kingdom TRON Lightcycle / RUN Lighting Lane Lightning Lane Single Pass prices are also pretty steady during that time. Here’s what they’ll be on December 20th: Seven Dwarfs Mine Train: $17 TRON Lightcycle / Run: $22 Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind: $21 Rise of the Resistance: $24 Flight of Passage: $18 Flight of Passage Entrance Interestingly enough, the cost of Lightning Lane Multi Pass goes down for Magic Kingdom on December 21st to $37. So it looks like, right now, December 20th may be one of the busiest days in Disney World all year (although we haven’t yet seen prices for Christmas Day, which could be even higher). We’ll keep an eye on Lightning Lane prices and keep you updated, so stay tuned to DFB for more. 18. There are a lot of wonderful things about the holiday season in EPCOT — the decorations are stunning, you’ve got so much great food and entertainment thanks to EPCOT’s International Festival of the Holidays going on, and this year you can even meet Santa Goofy! Yes, please! Figment in his Christmas Sweater However, one of our FAVORITE parts of the season is actually inside a ride that so many people walk right by, and we’re happy to say that yes, it’s back once again for everyone to enjoy — Figment in his adorable Christmas sweater is BACK, and we think everyone needs to go see him! Journey into Imagination with Figment is in its third edition since EPCOT opened in 1982, and while many people still love the original the best, they won’t pass up the chance to see Figment in his element on the ride. While seeing him any time of year is great, seeing him in his Christmas sweater is even better. Yep, that’s the best, hands down. Figgy in his Christmas sweater! The animatronics of Figment in the ride all have him in his little blue sweater, and we’ve been obsessed with it for years. But who can blame us? Just LOOK AT HIM! We love him so much The best part is that this year, when you exit the ride into ImageWorks, you can even MEET Figment in his Christmas sweater! Now, it’s a different sweater than the classic one, but it’s still blue, so hey, we’ll take it. We love you, Figment! A ton of the merchandise at Festival of the Holidays is also themed to Figment and/or his Christmas sweater this year, which is just a testament to how beloved they are. You can grab a Figment plush… Figment Plush …a blanket that has the pattern of Figment’s Christmas sweater… Festival of the Holidays Blanket …a Figment holiday sweater of your own… Figment Holiday Sweater …and so much more! If you love him in his sweater as much as we do, this collection is TOTALLY worth checking out. Looking for more recent EPCOT news? Check out our posts below! More Recent EPCOT News! 19. Casaey’s Corner is a staple Magic Kingdom counter-service restaurant. It’s one of those places that you either love or you do your best to avoid. As for us, we love a good Casey’s Corner snack, especially with some plastic cheese! Casey’s Corner If you see us stopping by Casey’s Corner, you can probably assume we’re grabbing some corn dog nuggets and fries with a side of plastic cheese. However, we also enjoy trying the various other menu items here. Casey’s frequently offers seasonal items in addition to its staple menu. One item that is available year-round is the Chicago-style Hot Dog. Since it had been a while since we had the Chicago dog at Casey’s before, we decided it was time to give it a taste test! The Chicago-style Hot Dog is available as an all-beef hot dog or a plant-based hot dog. Your hot dog is topped with diced tomatoes, onions, yellow mustard, and Chicago green relish. These are the typical toppings on a Chicago-style hot dog, so we weren’t too surprised by what we got. We purchased this hot dog for $13.49. Chicago-Style Hot Dog The Cast Member told us, as we headed out with our hot dog, that we would be back to thank them for their suggestion; however, this is one of the VERY rare times we probably will not be thanking them. This hot dog was not necessarily what our reporter typically has in mind when they pick out hot dog toppings. These toppings weren’t our favorites. While the hot dog itself was fine, it was the toppings that we just weren’t too sure about. The relish and onions on this hot dog are REALLY strong. You have to be someone who loves these strong flavors to truly enjoy and appreciate this hot dog. We know there are many people out there who would like the combination of mustard, relish, and onions on their hot dog, but it’s just not us. Check out these toppings! That being said, while the Chicago-style hot dog isn’t awful, we would rather try the more adventurous, seasonal options like the Chipotle Barbecue Hot Dog or the Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party exclusive Holiday Pot Roast Hot Dog. With a topping of beer cheese sauce, the Holiday Pot Roast Mini Corn Dogs are definitely more our style. Holiday Pot Roast Mini Corn Dogs We hope that those of you who enjoy a typical Chicago-style hot dog can appreciate the one at Casey’s Corner. As for us, we will be munching away on the other options at this baseball-themed quick-service restaurant. For more Disney World food reviews and news, keep following DFB! 21. Disney+ subscribers are about to have a FIELD day, and that’s saying something, since it seems like Disney is releasing new perks for subscribers nearly every week! Disney+ As we’re entering the heart of the holiday season, which includes the 12 days of Christmas, Disney looks like they’re going to be majorly rewarding Disney+ subscribers with TWELVE new perks! Here’s what we can look forward to. To celebrate the season, for the first twelve days of December, Disney+ subscribers will get a new perk each day! We’re not totally clueless as to what these will be, though — we’ve got a sneak peek and some teasers to help us guess! Here’s what Disney has given us so far! Day 1 (December 1st): Escape to the magic of Hawaii (we’re suspecting an Aulani discount, or sweepstakes to win an Aulani vacation!) Day 2 (December 2nd): Thoughtful gifting is about to get extra rewarding (perhaps buying a gift for someone will get you an extra discount with the Disney Store, or one of Disney’s partners) Day 3 (December 3rd): Celebrate your fandom festively (we’re crossing our fingers that this will be a discount for some of our favorite fandom merchandise) Day 4 (December 4th): Your shot at an unforgettable night is just ahead (another sweepstakes? Maybe for the Cinderella Castle Suite!) ©Disney Day 5 (December 5th): Something freshly made is waiting for you (we’re thinking this has something to do with food — maybe a discount on a subscription to something like Hello Fresh?) Day 6 (December 6th): Adventure is on the horizon. Ready to set sail? (this HAS to be a sweepstakes for the Disney Adventure cruise ship, or maybe a discount!) Day 7 (December 7th): The curtain’s about to rise on an unforgettable evening (something with Disney on Broadway is our best guess!) Day 8 (December 8th): Get ready for your chance at a little extra magic (another sweepstakes of some sort, but what for, we’re clueless!) Day 9 (December 9th): The best stories of the season deserve a front row seat (front row seats to popular Disney films coming, or maybe more Disney on Broadway shows!) ©Disney Cruise Line Day 10 (December 10th): The magic of the season is taking the ice (Disney on Ice, we’re calling it now!) Day 11 (December 11th): Enter a universe of stories this holiday season (something with Marvel, that’s for sure, but we don’t know what it could be in relation to!) Day 12 (December 12th): Get ready to step into Disney history (ooh, this sounds SO intriguing — perhaps something with one of the Disney museums around the United States?) ©Disney You’ll have to return each day to “unwrap” the deal, but it’s very likely that the deals themselves will be available for a longer period of time (not just one day!), but we’ll have to wait to see the deals to know for sure. We’ll be watching them closely, though, so don’t worry. Be sure to stay tuned to DFB for all the latest news! 22. There are lots of Disney World hotel pools, but they’re certainly not all created equally. Some of them are totally out of this world, like the Big Blue Pool at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort, or Stormalong Bay at Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resorts, while others are just…meh. Meadow Swimmin’ Pool at Fort Wilderness Previously, the Meadow Swimmin’ Pool at Fort Wilderness Resort was pretty in the middle — it wasn’t fantastic, and it wasn’t bad either, but now it’s under refurbishment, and the plan is the DOUBLE the size of the pool area. Disney hadn’t yet announced when they expected this construction to be complete, but now we’ve got a timeline! Construction on this project began in May 2025, and now we know it’s set to be completed in mid-2026. The best part about this refurbishment, when comparing it to other projects around Disney World, is that while Disney works on expanding the area, the pool itself will remain OPEN for guests throughout this project! Meadow Swimmin’ Pool But what exactly is this project? The original pool area is staying the same, but it’s the additions that are really changing things for this pool. Disney is adding a new zero-entry pool and deck area, as well as a tennis court and two pickleball courts! Now THAT’S an expansion we love to see. Meadow Swimmin’ Pool Currently, the Disney World website states that during this time, seating availability around the Meadow Swimmin’ Pool may be limited, and Guests may see or hear construction in the area. If you’re using bus transportation to get around, you’ll want to follow posted signage to make your way to the pool. Meadow Swimmin’ Pool Looking for more recent Disney World hotel news? 23. It’s looking like 2026 will be a big year for Disney rides worldwide! ©Disney Between ride rethemes and brand new attractions, eight Disney Parks across the globe are going to look very different in 2026. If you’re traveling to any of these parks next year and want to know which rides are new or featuring big-time overhauls, you’ve come to the right place! All in all, 11 rides are either debuting or featuring massive changes in 2026 — here’s what you should know! Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run — Disney’s Hollywood Studios AND Disneyland Park Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in both Disney World’s Hollywood Studios and Disneyland Park lets guests take control of the famous Millennium Falcon in a special space mission. The ride is getting a major overhaul in 2026 to coincide with the release of the new Star Wars film: The Mandalorian & Grogu. Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios Disney announced that the ride will feature NEW missions with the Mandalorian and Grogu at BOTH parks starting May 22nd, 2026! ©Disney The change will also include new Star Wars destinations, including Bespin, Tatooine, the ruins of the Death Star, Coruscant, Beggar’s Canyon, and more. Death Star ruins on the new version of Smuggler’s Run ©Disney The ride will still have the three roles — pilot, gunner, and engineer — but for the first time ever, the engineer will get to choose where you jet off to — with the help of the rest of the crew, of course! ©Disney During your mission, you’ll team up with the Mandalorian, Grogu, and Hondo. New missions will be added to Millennium Falcon: Smugglers run in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort featuring the Mandalorian and Grogu. As for the mission itself, Hondo Ohnaka has discovered a deal on Tatooine between ex-Imperial officers and some pirates, and there’s a hefty bounty for their capture. ©Disney It’ll be your job to track them down and collect that bounty! Soarin’ Across America — EPCOT AND Disney California Adventure To celebrate the United States’ 250th birthday, Soarin’ is getting a retheme at BOTH EPCOT and Disney California Adventure! ©Disney In Summer 2026, both versions of the ride will get a new “airborne adventure” that takes you across the United States, “highlighting some of the country’s natural beauty and iconic cityscapes.” Apparently, new “iconic elements” such as music and scents will be included, as well as “more than a dozen” new scenes. The overlay is currently being labeled as a temporary itinerary, so we’re assuming that Soarin’ Around the World and Soarin’ Over California will return at some point, even if they begin to operate in a rotation or seasonally (at least in Over California’s case). Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster — Disney’s Hollywood Studios Back at Hollywood Studios, Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster is dropping Aerosmith and will now star The Muppets in 2026! ©Disney Set to reopen in Summer 2026, the newest version of this roller coaster will feature a first-of-its-kind Muppet animatronic! Disney shared that Scooter (the band manager), along with the penguin audio engineers, will be working hard to get Electric Mayhem to their concert on time, and guests will be getting a VIP tour of G-Force Records — which is under new management by The Muppets! ©Disney Scooter is the said audio animatronic, and Disney has teased that he might not be the only one in the attraction. More details are still to come, and we can’t wait to learn about this change! Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin — Magic Kingdom Over at Magic Kingdom’s Tomorrowland, Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin is getting a massive overhaul that will debut in 2026! ©Disney Slated to reopen sometime in 2026, the attraction will feature extensive updates, such as a brand-new character named Buddy who will appear in an introductory scene. ©Disney The ride vehicles are also getting a new design inspired by Buzz Lightyear’s Star Command. Each one will include real-time scoring displays, new lighting effects, and handheld blasters that allow for more accurate aim. ©Disney These blasters will also feature always-on lasers, vibrations, and sound effects. Targets have even been redesigned to light up when blasted! Big Thunder Mountain Railroad — Magic Kingdom Staying at Magic Kingdom, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad will have been closed for over a year when it reopens in 2026 with some major modifications! ©Disney The ride will reopen with “new magic”, including a revamped story, “spectacular natural caverns full of phosphorescent pools, shimmering and illuminating iridescent stalagmites (the ones on the floor) and stalactites (the ones on the ceiling)”, a new, smoother track, new lighting and effects, and an exterior touch-up of the ride to help it fit into the new Piston Peak Cars expansion. Construction at Big Thunder Mountain Railroad A specific reopening date has yet to be announced, but we’ll let you know as soon as that information is made available. Spider-Man Roller Coaster — Shanghai Disneyland In August 2024, Disney announced during their D23 event that Shanghai Disneyland is getting a new coaster themed after Marvel’s Spider-Man! The park’s first Marvel ride will be “a high-energy thrill coaster” that is a “high-speed, fully immersive experience.” Guests will soon be able to experience an all-new Spider-Man themed coaster coming to Shanghai Disneyland. The ride will be placed in a new Marvel Land, which has already broken ground, and it’s possible that it will open either in late 2026. However, few details are known at this time, and it’s likely the ride opens in 2027 or later. Wreck-It-Ralph Ride — Tokyo Disneyland A NEW Wreck-It Ralph-themed attraction is coming Tokyo Disneyland and could open in 2026! ©Disney The new ride will replace Buzz Lightyear’s Astro Blasters. Based on the Disney film, the attraction is slated to open in 2026 or later, and will be “an indoor interactive gameplay experience, perfect for children and adults.” It follows Ralph on “an action-packed journey as he sets out to prove to everyone that he is a true hero with a big heart.” Along the way, Ralph meets up with friends like Vanellope von Schweetz and more. ©Disney Once you’re on the ride, you’ll “enter the candy-themed racing game Sugar Rush, which is being attacked by Sugar Bugs – glitches created by King Candy. Guests team up with the beloved film characters Ralph and Vanellope to transform the Sugar Bugs back to their original ‘kawaii’ confectionery such as cookies and cakes.” Raiponce Tangled Spin — Disney Adventure World A MASSIVE overhaul of Disneyland Paris is taking place on March 29th, 2026, at Walt Disney Studios Park, which is being renamed to Disney Adventure World. Additionally, a few new attractions will debut along with the new name. ©Disney Raiponce Tangled Spin will be a new Tangled ride that whirls guests around beneath the floating lanterns, accompanied by the iconic “I See the Light” song from the animated film. ©Disney Best of all, Mandy Moore has reprised the voice of Rapunzel exclusively for the recorded audio announcements on the ride! Frozen Ever After — Disney Adventure World Another Parisian ride debuting will be the park’s version of Frozen Ever After, along with the World of Frozen land. World of Frozen, a land themed to Walt Disney Animation Studios’ “Frozen” will open alongside the debut of the park’s new name, Disney Adventure World, in 2026. Also opening on March 29th, this ride will be yet another version of the popular attraction that exists at Hong Kong Disneyland, Tokyo DisneySea, and EPCOT in Disney World. ©Disney Which ride are you most excited to experience? 25. We don’t want you to be surprised by planned closures if you are heading to Disney World this week! It is no fun to be excited about an attraction or experience, only to find out it is permanently closed or undergoing refurbishment. There are quite a few closures happening in Disney World — whether it be for maintenance or to make way for new lands like Pueblo Esperanza, Piston Peak National Park, and a Monsters, Inc. land. Kali River Rapids We are here to keep you up to date with the latest closures, so you aren’t thrown any major curveballs. Of course, rides might still go down for technical issues or weather, but those are more temporary closures. We are rounding up everything that is closed in Disney World this week so you can be prepared! Let’s take a look at the attractions and locations that will be closed this week, from November 29th through December 6th, at Disney World. Magic Kingdom Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin A popular Tomorrowland attraction is closed! Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin has been closed for refurbishment since August 4th, 2025, and isn’t expected to reopen until 2026. While the ride is closed, it will be getting some upgrades! Closed for Refurbishment Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin will be getting a new ride scene, new ride vehicles, a new character, and enhanced gameplay elements. Some of those gameplay elements include handheld blasters (soon you can shoot whenever you want!) and reactive targets. We got the chance to take a look at the new ride vehicle and test out the new blasters, and we have to say we were impressed! Liberty Square Riverboat and Tom Sawyer Island An iconic part of the Magic Kingdom is now permanently closed. As of July 7th, the Rivers of America, including the Liberty Square River Boat and Tom Sawyer Island, are permanently closed to make way for the new Cars area, Piston Peak National Park. There are lots of construction walls up in the area now, and the structures on Tom Sawyer Island have been demolished. The river has also been drained! Walls up for construction Piston Peak National Park will be replacing this area of Magic Kingdom. Disney has not yet announced an opening date for the new Cars area, but we do know it will feature two brand-new attractions and be themed to look like a National Park. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad On January 6th, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad closed for an extended temporary closure. The “Wildest Ride in the Wilderness” will be closed for at least a year and will reopen sometime in 2026. The ride will be undergoing maintenance while it is closed. When it reopens, it will have some “new magic,” according to Disney. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad Disney announced some of the new magic! Riders will see “spectacular natural caverns full of phosphorescent pools, shimmering and illuminating iridescent stalagmites (the ones on the floor) and stalactites (the ones on the ceiling)” — the Rainbow Caverns! We can’t wait to see what other changes might be coming to this ever-popular roller coaster! We have spotted some ride testing happening, which was very exciting. REVIEW: If You Need a Consistent Snack Stop in Magic Kingdom That Rarely Fails, Read This Disney’s Animal Kingdom Harambe Market — Disney’s Animal Kingdom Harambe Market, a quick-service dining location in Animal Kingdom, has temporarily closed as of October 20th, 2025. It will be closed for a few months, and it is currently expected to reopen in early 2026. While we are sad to see the dining options decrease in Animal Kingdom, there are still lots of delicious options! Harambe Market You can stop by Flame Tree Barbecue or Satu’li Canteen for a tasty, quick-service meal. We aren’t expecting huge changes at Harambe Market during the refurbishment, but we will keep you updated as we learn more! Kali River Rapids Kali River Rapids is about to close for refurbishment! This water adventure has temporarily closed as of October 6th, and it is expected to reopen in December 2025. We aren’t expecting any huge changes to the ride, just some maintenance and general refurbishment. Kali River Rapids is currently closed We commonly see Kali River Rapids closed during the cooler months for refurbishment. Splashing through a water ride just isn’t the same when it is cooler outside, so we can see why Disney chose the fall or winter months to do some maintenance on this attraction. TriceraTop Spin, Chester & Hester’s Dinosaur Treasures, Fossil Fun Games, The Boneyard, Dino Bite Snacks, and Trilo-Bites The first round of closures began in DinoLand U.S.A. on January 13th, 2025. TriceraTop Spin, Chester & Hester’s Dinosaur Treasures, and Fossil Fun Game were closed down, and construction has begun on the brand-new land themed to the Tropical Americas, Pueblo Esperanza. The Boneyard has permanently closed as of September 2nd. Dino Bite Snacks and Trilo-Bites are also permanently closed as of October 20th, 2025. Pueblo Esperanza construction It is definitely a sad sight, but we are also excited to see Pueblo Esperanza! DINOSAUR and Restaurantosaurus are still open, but Disney has announced the rest of DinoLand, U.S.A. will be closing for good on February 2nd, 2026. Alert! Animal Kingdom Changes FOREVER Next Year Disney’s Hollywood Studios Vacation Fun – An Original Animated Short with Mickey & Minnie — Disney’s Hollywood Studios Vacation Fun – An Original Animated Short with Mickey & Minnie is temporarily closed as of October 20th, 2025, in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The good news is that it is just a temporary closure, and it is expected to reopen later this year! Vacation Fun Vacation Fun is joining an already lengthy list of closures in Hollywood Studios, including Animation Courtyard and Muppets Courtyard. There is still plenty to do in Hollywood Studios, but be prepared for a fair amount of construction happening! Animation Courtyard Animation Courtyard closed on September 25th, 2025, to make way for Walt Disney Studios. This new area is expected to open in 2026 and will be a special nod to the Walt Disney Studios lot. Star Wars Launch Bay will be turned into The Magic of Disney Animation. This attraction will have you interacting and exploring with this fun take on Disney Animation headquarters. Construction walls around Animation Courtyard This area will also feature a new Drawn to Wonderland indoor play area and the current Disney Jr. Play and Dance! show will be getting a makeover. During the transformation, you will still be able to visit “The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure” and Walt Disney Presents. Muppets Courtyard, including Muppet*Vision 3D, PizzeRizzo, and Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano Muppet*Vision 3D AND PizzeRizzo closed on June 8th, and Muppets Courtyard has been walled off so construction can begin on the new Monsters, Inc. land. Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano has been closed since May 11th. Recently, the Muppet*Vision 3D sign was officially taken down! Farewell Muppet*Vision Sign Don’t worry, the Muppets won’t be missing from Disney’s Hollywood Studios forever. The Muppets will eventually be taking over Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster in 2026. REVIEW: I Regret To Inform You That You Might Be Missing Out on an Incredible Meal at Disney’s Hollywood Studios Blizzard Beach Blizzard Beach has been closed since September 8th, 2025! While it has been wonderful having BOTH Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon open at the same time this summer (which was the first time this has happened in YEARS), that has now come to an end. Blizzard Beach is now closed for refurbishment. Blizzard Beach Have no fear, though, if you are looking for somewhere to cool off and enjoy some fun in the water, Typhoon Lagoon will still be open! Although keep an eye on the weather, as Typhoon Lagoon will close when the temperatures become colder. REVIEWS: What to Eat (And What to AVOID) at Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park Disney World Hotels Promenade Fine Art Gallery — Disney’s BoardWalk Inn and Resort The Promenade Fine Art Gallery will be closing its Disney’s BoardWalk location on October 20th, 2025. However, the Promenade Fine Art Gallery isn’t closing for good, and it will just be moving to a new location. Promenade Fine Art Gallery The gallery hasn’t announced yet where that new location will be, but we will keep you updated as we learn more! The Paddock Pool, Aquatic Play Area, and The Paddock Grill — Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort The Paddock Pool, the aquatic play area, and The Paddock Grill will be closed from October 13th, 2025, until early December for routine maintenance. Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort As we enter the cooler months, we are seeing more hotel pools undergoing routine maintenance. It is all an important part in making sure the Walt Disney World Resort is looking its best. Leisure Pool at Miller’s Road — Disney’s Old Key West Resort If you are staying at Old Key West soon, you will want to take note of this closure! From September 29th through late November, the leisure pool at Miller’s Road will be closed for routine maintenance. Disney’s Old Key West Good news, though. The Sandcastle Pool and both leisure pools at Old Turtle Pond and South Point will still be open. So, there will be plenty of options for having some poolside fun! Jellyrolls — Disney’s BoardWalk Jellyrolls at Disney’s BoardWalk officially closed on April 19th, 2025. This entertainment venue has provided our team with countless memories, and we know many others are also sad to see it close. Jellyrolls had its final farewell performance on April 19th and closed its doors forever on Disney’s BoardWalk. Jellyrolls at Disney’s BoardWalk However, this isn’t the end for Jellyrolls, as the bar has said they are “making a move.” We don’t know many details about that move yet, but we will keep you updated.
