Live music and dancing bring the bygone era to life throughout the park, and the sky lights up with an exclusive showing of “Fantasy in The Sky” fireworks. This trip down memory lane will truly be one for the ages! There’s no better way to celebrate your family’s love for Star Wars than with one epic day of galactic experiences aboard a weeklong Disney cruise to the Caribbean. Star Wars Day at Sea features an assembly of more than a dozen light and dark side characters. Plus, you never know who you may bump into roaming around the ship, so always have your camera ready! 2. Let us entertain your kids while you get your own Star Wars fix. In the new Star Wars: Command Post in Disney’s Oceaneer Club, we have Star Wars themed activities to keep your kids entertained for hours. So take some time for yourself and show off your knowledge at Star Wars Trivia, or brush up on the basics at Star Wars 101. Then join a lively presentation from one of the creative talents who has helped bring the Star Wars universe to life. 3. Enjoy the incredible entertainment as a family. One of the day’s signature family events is our costume celebration in the atrium. But of course you’re welcome to wear your best v attire all day long to extend the cosplay fun! Also as a family you can learn to draw some of your favorite characters at Star Wars Drawing Academy and join the ship-wide Star Wars Scavenger Hunt to find and decode secret messages and solve a mystery. Another must-do family activity is “Jedi Training: Trials of the Temple,” where you can watch your young Padawans summon the courage and Force to face off against the dark side. 4. Cap off the day with an action-packed deck party and amazing fireworks show. There’s no better way to wrap up the day than with fireworks at sea, especially when the incredible display is timed to John William’s classic Star Wars score. But first, you’ll be treated to a spectacular deck show, “Summon The Force,” which celebrates all of the great moments from across the Star Wars universe. Holidays at the Disneyland Resort is here, and I’m excited to share with you all of the wonderful treats that are in store for the most magical season of the year! From now until January 7, 2018, you’ll be able to find everything on this guide at various locations throughout Disneyland Resort. Run, run, run as fast as you can to try a tasty gingerbread man! You’ll be able to find these delightful gingerbread men at many locations throughout both parks and all three hotels. Disneyland park will offer gingerbread man cookies at Jolly Holiday Bakery Café, Market House, Red Rose Taverne, The Golden Horseshoe and Stage Door Café; Disney California Adventure park will have them at various carts throughout the park, Fiddler, Fifer & Practical Café, Pacific Wharf Café and Pacific Wharf Coffee Cart; at the Disneyland Resort Hotels, you’ll find them at The Coffee House, Hearthstone Lounge, and Surfside Lounge. Snowman shortbread cookies will also be available throughout the entire resort. At Disneyland park, you’ll find them at Jolly Holiday Bakery Café and Market House; while at Disney California Adventure park, you’ll find them at various carts and Fiddler, Fifer & Practical Café; and at the Disneyland Resort Hotels, you’ll find this cookie at Tangaroa Terrace and Surfside Lounge. Other offerings that will be available across Disneyland and Disney California Adventure parks include holiday crispies, parfaits and brownies at various carts and locations throughout the resort. Peppermint mochas will be available at Jolly Holiday Bakery Café and Main Street Coffee Cart in Disneyland park; Pacific Wharf Coffee Cart in Disney California Adventure park; and The Coffee House, Hearthstone Lounge and Surfside Lounge at the Disneyland Resort Hotels. For the cotton candy fans out there, you’ll be excited to find yummy candy apple cotton candy at various carts in both parks. At Disneyland park, Jolly Holiday Bakery Café will be serving up caramel apple muffins with streusel as well as pumpkin spice lattes. The Main Street Coffee Cart will be offering Long John doughnuts: one with fruity cereal and one with cookie crumbles. At the French Market Restaurant, you’ll find praline cheesecake with graham cracker crust, a layer of praline crunch and almond brittle. And for those wanting to get their chocolate fix, you can get a chocolate coffee Yule Log at Plaza Inn, with coffee buttercream filling, chocolate crunch and chocolate ganache. For the peppermint lovers out there, if you stop by Clarabelle’s Hand Scooped Ice Cream, Stage Door Café or Gibson Girl Ice Cream Parlor, you’ll find crushed candy cane topping, as well as peppermint ice cream at Gibson Girl Ice Cream Parlor. And Mint Julep Bar is celebrating the season with scrumptious candy cane beignets ­– yum! There are also several offerings continuing from the fall, like the graham cracker churro with marshmallow dipping sauce at the New Orleans Square Churro Cart and the Campfire S’mores Funnel Cake at Stage Door Café. Savory options include the Enchanted Maize Flatbread at Red Rose Taverne with mozzarella, roasted corn, pickled red onions, parmesan, spicy lime aioli and chopped cilantro; or try the Bison Blue Cheeseburger at Hungry Bear Restaurant with candied bacon, sautéed mushrooms, baby kale and blue cheese tarragon sauce on a whole wheat ciabatta. At Disney California Adventure park, there will be many offerings in addition to the Festival of Holidays marketplaces. Clarabelle’s Hand Scooped Ice Cream will have a cinnamon roll apple strudel sundae, crushed candy cane topping for hand-dipped bars, and cinnamon spiced, dark chocolate Ghirardelli and white chocolate Ghirardelli hot cocoa. Mortimer’s Market and the Boudin Bread Cart will have candy cane-shaped bread and snowman-shaped bread. Award Wieners will be frying up gingerbread funnel cake fries. At Schmoozies, you’ll find a pumpkin pie smoothie, a blended peppermint Malibu mocha, a holiday doughnut and a Santa’s Mittens Macaron with mint chip ice cream; and Pacific Wharf Café will have pumpkin spice bread pudding. In Cars Land, Flo’s V8 Café is serving up chocolate peppermint pie and a peppermint candy cane shake, while the Cozy Cone Motel will have a red churro with crème anglaise and crushed candy cane topping. On the savory side, you can find Elote at various carts throughout the park – street-style corn with condiments including parmesan, mayonnaise and chile-lime seasoning. A turkey pot pie soup will be available at Pacific Wharf Café, and a meatloaf with bacon will be offered at Flo’s V8 Café. You’ll find the chicken verde cone at the Cozy Cone Motel, and at Boardwalk Pizza & Pasta, you can find a chorizo thick-crust pizza with creamy tomato sauce, mozzarella and cotija cheese, spicy chorizo, fresh pico de gallo and a tomatillo-cilantro crema drizzle. From Dec. 1 through Jan. 7, Carthay Circle Restaurant will have some special additions to their menu, including prime rib with cranberry horseradish, roasted leg of lamb with Christmas shrimp relleno, peppermint affogato, ginger monkey bread and a poinsettia cocktail consisting of Cointreau, cranberry juice and champagne and garnished with a twist of orange zest. You’ll also find this cocktail at Carthay Circle Lounge. The festive fun doesn’t stop at the parks! You’ll also be able to find some fun and delicious holiday offerings at the Disneyland Resort Hotels as well. The Coffee House at Disneyland Hotel and Surfside Lounge at Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel will be offering eggnog, eggnog lattes and caramel apple muffins with streusel. At Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa, you can find a Black Forest bundt cake at White Water Snacks and an eggnog latte at Hearthstone Lounge. The Disney Springs Christmas Tree Trail made its debut last year. Fitting, since 2016 was the year that Disney Springs celebrated its Grand Opening from the area’s transformation from Downtown Disney. Christmas Tree Trail sign And, just like Disney Springs itself, the Holiday Christmas Tree Trail itself has expanded this year, too! Last year’s Trail featured 15 Christmas Trees, themed to Disney films and characters. Wow, are we EVER glad to say “Welcome!” to Choza de Margarita — here at long last!!! Choza de Margarita sign Choza de Margarita (originally announced as Choza Tequila) is the brand new outdoor margarita bar opening TODAY right next to Epcot’s Mexico Pavilion. Once upon a time, we could all pick up a margarita — or two — at the small, thatched roof Mexico Margarita Stand during a World Showcase stroll. But when the neighboring Norway Pavilion expanded to add new Frozen-themed attractions, we were saddened to learn that the humble little kiosk would be closed to accommodate construction in that area. The operative word in that sentence, of course, is “WERE.” Because CHOZA IS OPEN!!! Atmosphere Choza de Margarita is located directly adjacent to the Pavilion’s pyramid. And its design details are fitting to its location. If you remember the ol’ Margarita Stand, then you’ll recall the little thatched roof placed atop a kiosk that held just a couple of Cast Members at any given time. Well, the thatched roofing still sets the scene at Choza de Margarita, but this new spot can definitely hold more than a few people at once! Choza de Margarita There are multiple registers for ordering, and there’s plenty of room for the many cast members to dispense drinky drinks for the masses. Choza de Margarita Stand This picture, taken pre-opening, will give you an idea of how the area is set up. Choza de Margarita They’re prepared for the inevitable lines, y’all! Queue Note that there’s currently no seating available at Choza. It is, like the original Marg stand, a stand-and-imbibe kind of thing…. except there are a few “high top” tables that you can kind of spot built into the walls. I’m kind of hoping they’ll add more actual high tops eventually. Mayan gods such as Acan — the god of wine (I learned that through Choza de Margarita’s Twitter!) — and others are represented in gorgeous carvings, nicely echoing the scene set through the pyramid. Mayan-Inspired Carvings Provide Lots of Ambiance Mayan-inspired Carvings Mayan-inspired Carvings And another really fun touch… these torches should look especially lovely at night. Torch Now, it’s time for some of what Choza promises in its name… Margaritas! Choza de Margarita Offerings And MORE! Drinks You’ll find frozen and hand-crafted margaritas, Mexican beers, non-alcoholic options, and specialty eats here at Choza. The Margarita menu is the star here, and it features several interesting options. Margarita Menu at Choza de Margarita Guests have a choice between Three Mexican beers: Dos Equis Ambar, Cerveza Pacifico, and Michelada. Beer Menu The Conga — a Non-Alcoholic Mexican Fruit Punch made of orange, pineapple, and grapefruit juices with a splash of grenadine is pretty delicious. Definitely worth getting!! But since Acan embodies the spirit of this spot, I ordered his drink: the Acan Grapefruit Margarita. It’s comprised of Casa Noble Blanco Tequila, Grapefruit Liqueur, Elderflower Cordial, Lemon Juice, Cardamom Bitters, and Ginger Beer. AAAAH! Doesn’t that sound amazing? If you’re thinking this sounds super interesting, I agree. The Elderflower Cordial and Cardamom Bitters are particularly unusual, but the combination is delicious and refreshing. Especially with the Grapefruit Liqueur. And this is something I’m finding in a lot of Choza’s drinks — there’s a “hey, what IS that?” element to all of them, but in a good way. In a “that’s-interesting-and-I-really-kind-of-like-it” way. But these are the same mixologists that created the goodies at La Cava del Tequila, so I guess I shouldn’t be surprised. Acan Margarita The Lime Cucumber Margarita features Avión Blanco Tequila, fresh cucumber, orange liqueur, lime juice, and agave nectar. It’s super refreshing and very subtle. This is a good one for folks who aren’t comfortable with stronger flavors. A great one for summer! The Guava Pink Peppercorn Margarita ingredients include Zignum Mezcal Reposado, guava nectar, grapefruit liqueur, lime juice, Peychaud’s Bitters, and pink peppercorns. This one is unique and powerful, sweet and tart. It’s served with pink peppercorns in the mix, and you’re encouraged to get one and chew it up while you’re sipping — it actually enhances the flavors! So let’s move on to the frozen drinks. Devotees of the former Margarita kiosk will fondly remember (that is, IF they can remember at ALL) the super strong Fiesta Margarita, a combo of the three flavored Margaritas at the kiosk. For many years, this was an iconic part of “drinking around the World” for many folks. Well, Choza is bringing back the Fiesta Margarita!!! But rest assured it’s a leeeeeetle bit different. The Classic Lime has a depth, the Wild Strawberry has prickly pear puree, and the Mango actually has a little bit of Passion Fruit in there! Lime and Strawberry are definitely my favorites. Think of it as a Fiesta Margarita that grew up and traveled the world a little bit…there’s a depth to the flavors that just wasn’t there before, and I really, really enjoyed that. And here, my friends, is the VERY FIRST FIESTA MARGARITA EVER POURED AT CHOZA DE MARGARITA!!!!! I was pretty pleased to have that honor! Fiesta Margarita Let’s look at it again, shall we? Fiesta Margarita And now, onto eats… ‘cuz Choza has more than the bags of chips you could find at the old kiosk! Eats The bites at Choza de Margarita are small and reminiscent of Mexican street food — which is some truly fabulous street food when done well. Food Menu The Tacos al Pastor are grilled pork on homemade corn tortillas with green tomatillo sauce, onion, pineapple, and cilantro. The serving of pork is generous, and the seasoning was awesome. Great flavor, particularly in contrast the fresh pineapple. (Don’t worry — I picked off the cilantro because yuck. But if you like it, it’s there for you.) Oh, and those esquites that accompany the eats at Choza…THOSE ARE AMAZING. You know I’m a Mexican street corn fan, but these are at another level. I’ve already asked them if I can just get a giant bowl of them, so I’ll keep you updated! Not sure what esquites are? This version is sweet corn topped with queso fresco and chipotle mayo and OMG. Tacos al Pastor The Empanadas de Barbacoa are filled with beef and topped with chipotle sauce, Mexican cream, and queso fresco. These are fat and fresh and everything you want from an empanada, folks. The crispy fried dough was golden and tasty! Empanadas de Barbacoa The Fresh Guacamole comes with mango chutney and pumpkin and pomegranate seeds. It’s served with fried chicharrones and salsa Valentina (a hot sauce!). The combination of textures is a real hit here. The guac is fresh tasting and fruity, while the seeds on top add some toothsomeness. And unlike traditional chicharrones, which are made from pork skin, these are vegetarian and made from flour. The golden brown color befits the unexpectedly awesome flavor. The salsa Valentina contrasted perfectly with the cool, creamy guac. Guacamole with Chicharrones Nosh or Not? Choza de Margarita is for you if: Margaritas are your thang, but you don’t want to go inside the pyramid to La Cava You’re drinking around the World and only have limited time for Mexico You’re into Mexican street food and want to try a great version You can probably skip Choza if: You’re not a margarita or Mexican beer fan You’ve got kiddos pulling you toward Future World You’d rather head inside the pyramid to the air conditioned oasis that is Cava del Tequila Overall Choza is everything we wanted it to be…except for the no real, true seating thing. The drinks are well crafted, intense, and complex. The eats are fresh and, though simple street food, and done very well (THOSE ESQUITES THO!!!!!!). I already have another visit to Choza on my schedule for tomorrow. So yeah…it was worth the wait. That said, the not much in the way of seating thing is a drawback, but it shouldn’t keep you from trying out the menu here. Make it happen! Headed to Epcot and planning to try out Choza de Margarita? Long time Disney Parks Blog readers know of our fantastic history with our friends at “Wheel of Fortune.” Over the last five years, Pat Sajak and Vanna White, along with the show’s extraordinary team of Producers and Crew, have visited Disneyland, Walt Disney World, sailed aboard the Disney Cruise Line, visited Aulani, a Disney Resort and Spa in Hawaii… and even traveled to London and Ireland with Adventures by Disney. Footage from these amazing trips have been featured in multiple Disney-themed episodes. But… it’s “Wheel of Fortune’s” 35th Anniversary… and, they wanted to step it up a notch. And, so did we! Because, of all the places in the world the show could celebrate that milestone… they chose the Happiest. I’m so excited to share that beginning tonight, this week’s shows were filmed at Epcot at the Walt Disney World Resort! I’ve shared many broadcast adventures with you over the years – but there’s never been one this big. Well over a year in the planning, over 175 members of the “Wheel” family, along with some extraordinary contestants, traveled across the country to join us for an amazing week of “Wheel” and Disney fun. The holidays are officially under way, and we’re celebrating “Wheel”-style. In addition to some fantastic game play, you’re going to get a sneak peek into how we create Holiday Magic here at Walt Disney World – and, you’ll learn how you can Give the Gift of Disney this holiday season, as well. All of that, PLUS you’ll have a chance to win your very own Walt Disney World Vacation, and stay in a deluxe villa with the comforts of home at a Disney Vacation Club Resort – but you have to tune in to win! As you know, we always love to “lift the curtain” and give you a peek behind the scenes. We filmed all over the Resort, so I wanted to share a few pictures. What does The Land Pavilion in Epcot’s Future World share with the Food and Wine Festival? The Land Pavilion You’re about to find out if you join me on a little FIELD TRIP on Living with the Land! Living with the Land “For your safety, remain seated with your hands, arms, feet and legs inside the boat at all times.” Living with the Land Boat “Thank you. Now sit back, relax, and enjoy Living with the Land…” Living with the Land … and its special Food and Wine Festival presentation, the Roots of the Ingredient! Roots of the Ingredient I KNOW it’s hard to take a break from eating ALL THE FOOD during the Festival, especially in its few remaining days. And even outside of Food and Wine season a lot of people pass right on over Living with the Land in the Pavilion and head straight to Soarin’ Around the World. But not this kid! Though the attraction may not be the exact same Listen to the Land that it was for all of us 80s peeps, it still takes me right back to my very first trip to EPCOT Center. How about you? Living with the Land Anyway, if you do happen to find some time between bites to ride Living with the Land, you’ll find that the ingredients that make up some of your favorite Festival items are pointed out with signs throughout The Land’s Living Laboratory. Production and Research Center You’ll get to see what these ingredients look like long before they become part of your dish. Pineapple For instance, here are the tippy tops of pineapples… one of the ingredients topping the Kalua Pork Slider at the Hawai’i Booth. Kalua Pork Slider And here’s a bit of lemongrass that makes up part of the Lump Crab Cake with Napa Cabbage Slaw and Avocado Lemongrass Cream at the new Coastal Eats Booth. Living with the Land seems like the slowest ride on earth EVER… until you’re scrambling to take pictures on either side. Then suddenly it feels like Expedition Everest. Olive Tree At any rate, above is an olive tree which will eventually yield olives like the ones in the Charcuterie in a Cone found at the Spain Booth. Charcuterie in a Cone Cacao trees will produce the beans that in turn create chocolate. Cacao Of course, you can enjoy that in the Liquid Nitro Chocolate-Almond Truffle with Warm Whiskey-Caramel at The Chocolate Studio. Liquid Nitro Chocolate Almond Truffle with Warm Whiskey Caramel And these beautiful trees produce bananas that may one day be included in something like the Banana Almond Sundae at The Almond Orchard. Banana Trees Banana Almond Soft-serve Sundae with Fresh Berries and Crunchy Chocolate Oats Let’s all take a break to wave “Hello!” to Mickey!! Mickey!!! And “Hey!” to some of the tomatoes representing the Korma Chicken with Cucumber Tomato Salad at the India Booth. Tomato Korma Chicken with Cucumber Tomato Salad, Almonds, Cashews, and Warm Naan Bread These small pots house chives and celery. Chives and Celery Chives top the Beer-braised Beef in Belgium with bits of celery in the stew. Beer-braised Beef served with Smoked Gouda Mashed Potatoes Floating along, we pass the corn. Corn Corn is part of the Griddled Cornbread that’s served with the Crispy Chicken at Farm Fresh. Crispy Chicken with Griddled Cornbread and Red Eye Gravy It’s always fun to see the some of the lettuce that becomes part of your delicious (I mean it! It’s the best.) Farmer’s Salad at the Garden Grill located right upstairs in The Land Pavilion. Lettuce A better photographer would’ve caught the entire 35 “written” out in the colored leaves in honor of Epcot’s 35th Anniversary this year. I was thisclose ! Cucumbers The cucumbers above represent an ingredient for the Grilled Tuna Tataki with Pickled Cucumbers at Hawai’i. Grilled Tuna Tataki with Seaweed Salad and Pickled Cucumbers and Wasabi Cream Two key ingredients — beets and green beans — are displayed representing the Roasted Beet Salad with Green Beans at Farm Fresh. Beets and Green Beans Roasted Beet Salad with Green Beans, Feta Cheese, Minus 8 Vinaigrette, and Toasted Walnuts And here’s the Arugula, which you’ll find oodles of on top of the (surprisingly HUGE) Caramelized Onion Boursin Garlic and Fine Herbs Cheese Tart at The Cheese Studio. Celery Which is awesome, because now you can claim you’re eating a bowl of cheese and bacon for all the healthy celery involved. Canadian Cheddar Cheese Soup with Pretzel Roll Next, a little Grape & Dill for some of the tastes in the Taste of Greece Stuffed Grape Leaves from the Greece Booth. Grape and Dill Taste of Greece Mint and spinach are both crucial flavors in the Spinach and Paneer Cheese Pocket with Mint Raita at the Africa Booth. C’mon, you might as well sing it with me before we sign off … “Let’s listen to the land we all love, nature’s plan will shine above! Listen to the LAAAA—AAA—AAA-AAND! I learned about the Warm Salted Caramel-Stuffed Pretzel’s arrival at The Lunching Pad last week. Learn About: The Lunching Pad Magic Kingdom Disney World Restaurants So you know I was ALL OVER IT when I got into the Magic Kingdom for the very first Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party of the year! Here’s the deal: The Lunching Pad in Tomorrowland serves a variety of pretzels, including classic Mickey Soft Pretzels and flavor varieties like the Pepper Jack (Jalapeno Cheese) Stuffed Pretzel. And until last week, it was one of the only spots that carried the Sweet Cream Cheese-Stuffed Pretzel. But the day after the Warm Salted Caramel-Stuffed Pretzel showed up on the Mobile Order menu, the Sweet Cream Cheese Pretzel disappeared… as it has many times before. And that’s the thing with these Stuffed Pretzels: they tend to come and go without any rhyme or reason. So that’s why you gotta HOP ON IT when you see one, because you never know how long they’re going to stay on any menu in Disney World. So that’s exactly what I did with the new Warm Salted Caramel-Stuffed Pretzel! Warm Salted Caramel-Stuffed Pretzel Now, you know I love me some pretzels. So much so, in fact, that this isn’t even my first post about pretzels THIS WEEK. If you joined me earlier, you may know I highly recommend purchasing a side of chocolate sauce to go with your Mickey Soft Pretzel. But in the case of the Warm Salted Caramel-Stuffed Pretzel? Warm Salted Caramel-Stuffed Pretzel with Chocolate Sauce It ALREADY COMES WITH THE CHOCOLATE SAUCE. YES!! Just consider all the elements at play here. First, you’ve got the saltiness of the pretzel. THEN you’ve got the golden sweet-and-salty buttery taste of the caramel. And THEN you’ve got the rich sweetness of the chocolate sauce. Warm Salted Caramel-Stuffed Pretzel And we’re still not done, because you’ve ALSO got that slight hint of crunch from the outer brown pretzel shell, contrasted by doughy center and the gooey caramel and chocolate. Warm Salted Caramel-Stuffed Pretzel Dipped in Chocolate Salty. Sweet. A bit of Crunch. The GOOEY Factor. If there’s anything missing here, I sure can’t think of it. At $4.79, this thing is a snack steal. I know we’re already into the holiday swing of things here in Disney World, but it IS still November — and therefore technically still fall. And this Caramel Pretzel is perfect for the current season….even though I’m hoping it sticks around even longer! This week we shared some of the first images of Sunset Seasons Greetings, the new holiday offering at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Throughout the holiday season, the Sunset Boulevard area of the park will come alive with holiday cheer. The billboards will come alive with iconic characters sharing their love for the season. As you can see, Hollywood Tower Hotel also transforms into a pile of Christmas gifts, a gingerbread house and a frozen winter wonderland throughout the night. What started out as 40 military care packages, packed by a small team at the Walt Disney Travel Company, has turned into an office-wide, biannual military care package drive that has reached more than 10,000 troops overseas. “Our packing events have flourished in a wonderful way,” said Ivy Goodman, a team leader of travel reservation agents at the Walt Disney Travel Company. “Our latest drive generated more than 3,000 care packages to show the brave men and women of our Armed Forces that they are appreciated.” For each packing event, Ivy and Cheryl Evans, a sales agent, offer colleagues a chance to sponsor a care package or create their own. Cast members hand-write messages on postcards to include in the care packages, which are shipped to troops overseas in partnership with Operation Interdependence. In addition to postcards, the care packages include a protein like beef jerky, a small treat like a granola bar, candy left over from Mickey’s Halloween Party, and personal care items like lip balm and dental floss. Disney-related items like luggage tags or Mickey Mouse lapel pins also are included. The packages are small in size, but huge in gratitude. Ivy is motivated by her stepfather, Bob, who served three tours in Vietnam, and retired from the Marine Corps as a Master Gunnery Sergeant, after 23 years of service. When Bob returned from Vietnam, he eventually married Ivy’s mom, who was the love of Bob’s life. “With every postcard I write, I think of the brave servicemen and women who may read it, and thank them for their strength of character and sense of duty,” said Ivy. “In my heart, I say a prayer that they will make it home to their loved ones, too.” View the full article

We have some exciting news to share with you from Toy Story Land and thought the Disney Parks Blog audience should be among the first to see. Jessie and Rex became the first “Toy Story” characters to be installed in Toy Story Land at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, earlier this week. According to their storyline, Rex and Jessie decided to help Andy build a rollercoaster using his Mega Coaster Play Kit in his backyard by stringing up the lights on towers of blocks. Rex, of course, has got tangled up in the lights, but Jessie is nearby to help. One of the great, simple joys of visiting the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World is grabbing a Mickey Pretzel in the shadow of Cinderella Castle. And not just because Mickey Pretzels come with a container of cheese (although that’s also idyllic). It’s just such a sweet moment. Mickey Pretzel and Cinderella’s Castle But I admit, for years I’ve been missing one of the great opportunities of the Magic Kingdom pretzel carts. Because not only can you buy a pretzel at the pretzel cart, you can also grab a Churro — with its tasty chocolate sauce. But what if… Cheese and Chocolate Dips! Y’all, I can’t believe I didn’t think of this before now! Since you’re already at the cart, you can ask for both the cheese and the chocolate sauces (yeah — ya gotta pay extra for one of them) — and then proceed to create sweet, salty, carby bites. Dip it good! So full disclosure: when I was in college, a restaurant nearby served pretzels with both cheese and chocolate sauce. GENIUS!
