We hope you’re not forgetting about Disney World’s NEW Villains Land, because we sure haven’t! Villains Land Concept Art ©Disney When Villains Land at Magic Kingdom was OFFICIALLY announced in 2024 after tons of speculation, Disney fans collectively lost their minds in excitement — and rightfully so. Disney showed us concept art, teased some features the new land might include, got us hyped…and then went extremely quiet about the project. Aside from some proposed designs from Disney Imagineers that might be incorporated into the land, we still don’t know that much more about Villains Land than when it was announced two years ago. So that begs the question…when are we actually going to learn more? Right now, Villains Land is being built behind Big Thunder Mountain Railroad — slowly, yet surely. This project has remained fairly mysterious, but it is too big to ignore. All signs point to Disney really highlighting this project fairly soon. Here’s why… Maleficent At Disney’s 2024 D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event expo, Disney broke the internet when it revealed a brand-new Villains-themed land is coming to Magic Kingdom. The dark and twisted atmosphere would make the land feel tonally different from anything else in Magic Kingdom. However, Disney did say completion was a ways away, and we still don’t have a timeline. So why am I confident that Villains Land will get an update soon? Jafar People are going to be asking, and they’re going to be asking this summer when Disney hosts 2026 D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event at the Anaheim Convention Center and Honda Center on August 14th, 15th, and 16th. ©D23 That’s right: Disney’s biggest news event is BACK in 2026, and park expansions are usually a main topic of discussion. Disney doesn’t just casually sit on projects this large forever, and it will absolutely want to keep the hype going two years after making this huge announcement. D23 2024 Logically, D23 is the place for the next wave of Villains Land news. We could get more detailed concept art that shows the full land layout, information on which villains will be featured, updates on the kinds of rides we’re getting, and maybe…just maybe…an opening timeframe. The land is still too far out to get a set date, but we could get something a little bit more specific. D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event Despite the radio silence, we’re not particularly worried about this land yet. Magic Kingdom is a complex park to expand, and the scale of Villains Land is larger than what Disney is used to in recent years, so these things will take time. Plus, with the infrastructure being installed, Disney may not have a ton to report right now. In 2024, Disney made it a point to announce only projects with concrete plans, rather than blue-sky ideas. After two years, though, it’s safe to assume there are some updates. @bioreconstruct on X D23 is THE Disney event where the biggest projects are announced. Not shareholder meetings, not a random weekday, and not even the Destination D23 expo. This is it, and if we’re going to get some sizeable updates on the new land, Anaheim’s D23 expo is likely where it’ll happen. With that said, if the unthinkable happens and Disney reveals some details much sooner, you can count on us to fill you in! It’s a big day for “Phineas and Ferb” fans! ©Disney+ We’ve been enjoying watching Season 5 on Disney+, since the second half of the season recently dropped on the streaming service, and now there’s MORE news about the franchise, the Gen Z members of our team couldn’t be more stoked about. It’s just been announced that a NEW movie is on the way! According to Variety, Disney has now greenlit a new “Phineas and Ferb” film, the third one in the franchise, to begin production later this year. It will release on Disney+ and then on Disney Channel at a later date. Phineas and Ferb The logline for the new film is, “Dr. Doofenshmirtz’s latest time‑travel experiment backfires, erasing the moment Phineas’ mom meets Ferb’s dad — meaning the boys never become brothers and every day is merely adequate. As reality unravels and the future hangs in the balance, Phineas and Ferb must restore the timeline before it’s too late.” The series’ voice actors will also return for the film, including, but not limited to, Vincent Martella as Phineas Flynn, David Errigo Jr. as Ferb Fletcher, Ashley Tisdale as Candace Flynn, Caroline Rhea as Linda Flynn-Fletcher, Alyson Stoner as Isabella Garcia-Shapiro, Maulik Pancholy as Baljeet, Dan Povenmire as Dr. Heinz Doofenshmirtz, and Jeff “Swampy” Marsh as Major Francis Monogram. Agent P! Povenmire and Marsh will act as co-creators and executive producers of the film, which will be written by Kate Kondell and Jeff Howard, directed by Bob Bowen, and produced by Brandi Young. In a joint statement about the film, Povenmire and Marsh said, “We’ve always wanted to explore a story centered on family and unconditional love, preferably in a way that’s bold and sentimental yet classically funny. We’re grateful to Ayo and her team for giving us the runway to expand Danville and take these characters to a whole new level.” Let’s talk about Phineas and Ferb! We’ll never say “no” to dessert in Disney World, whether that be having a classic Mickey ice cream bar, indulging in a massive cookie, imbibing an over-the-top donut, or some other sweet treat. But there’s just something about cake that always makes us smile (and we eat a lot of cake in a lot of different forms). Look at that! So when we learned that one of our favorite dining spots in Disney Springs has a new cake dessert, we immediately ran over there to try it out. So if you’re interested, keep reading to see what we thought about the Last Wish Cake at eet by Maneet Chauhan. The Last Wish Cake is a dark chocolate cake topped with toasted marshmallow, graham cracker dust, and finished with white chocolate crispy pearls for $11.95. So, it’s basically a s’more in cake form. Now, this isn’t necessarily a flavor we would associate with eet, which is more about Indian-inspired flavors, but we’re not going to argue with any kind of cake. We will say that one thing confused us: the middle of the cake was cold. It was as if the cake was heated up, but the center didn’t get warm. So we’re not sure what that’s about. Last Wish Cake However, with that being said, the cake is moist, and it even has a little bit of lava cake thing happening with melty chocolate throughout. The crispy pearls add a nice crunch. The overall flavor, though, is toasted marshmallow, and it even SMELLS like toasted marshmallow. We were most surprised that there weren’t any spices or anything added to it. But these are just standard flavors. It’s s’mores in cake form We also thought the portion size was good, and if you are eating this at the end of the meal, it’s probably shareable. It’s certainly a good dessert option here if you need something sweet after a savory meal. We’ll keep reviewing new food in Disney World, so be sure to stay tuned to DFB for more reviews. WE KNOW – there are SO many great snacks at Disney World! How do you choose (we don’t want to choose, but will blow our budget on Day 1 otherwise)? We’ve got you covered! We have reviewed nearly EVERY snack available at Disney World, and we’ve written a series of DFB Guides about them! Why visit Disney World if you’re not doing it in style?! Magic Kingdom Okay, okay, I’ll be the first to say comfort over looks, but it’s just fun to dress up and throw on your favorite Disney accessories for the parks! That’s why we’ve compiled the ONLY Loungefly list you’ll need this year. It’s official — these are the hottest Disney Loungefly bags of the year! DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission. 1. Alice in Wonderland Sketch Backpack ©Amazon The Walt Disney Company started with sketches, so this backpack is a throwback! Alice is the star, of course, on the front zipper pocket with other beloved characters like The Mad Hatter and the Cheshire Cat on the main bag. Do you see the details on the inside of the strap? They really thought of everything here! View on Amazon 2. Minnie Mouse Floral Backpack ©Amazon Around Spring, the floral merchandise takes over…but honestly, florals are timeless! This Minnie Mouse backpack has a velvet bow with embroidery and a rose gold zipper charm for the front pocket. What’s not to love? View on Amazon 3. Pixar Inside Out 2 Backpack ©Disney Yes, we are still crying about Inside Out 2, because that movie hit HARD. If you’re one to wear your heart on your sleeve, this backpack features an interactive wheel! The arrow says “I Feel,” and you can move the wheel to let the world know how you are feeling. But hey, if we’re wearing this in Disney World, it’ll probably be pointing to Joy most of the time! View on Amazon 4. Fantasia Convertible Backpack and Tote Crossbody Bag ©Amazon This Fantasia-themed bag is one of the most versatile Loungeflys we’ve ever seen. Tote bags are popular for a reason — they are super roomy, but don’t tend to weigh you down! This one can switch between a backpack, a crossbody, and a regular tote bag with a quick switch of straps. View on Amazon 5. Disney Princess Pink Backpack ©Amazon Disney Princesses never go out of style, which means you can wear this Loungefly for years and years to come! The texture on this bag is unique, with the Princess silhouettes and flowers covering the front. Because of the design, this front pocket is even bigger than usual Loungefly backpacks! View on Amazon 6. Maleficent Stained Glass Backpack ©Amazon What do you get when you combine stained glass and one of the most iconic Disney villains of all time? This masterpiece. Maleficent is front and center with the thorns and flames surrounding her! Would this be a must-buy even without the stained glass effect? Yes. Absolutely, yes. View on Amazon 7. Mickey & Friends Tiki Backpack ©Amazon Mickey and his friends are ready for a luau! Whether you’re headed to the Enchanted Tiki Room or you’re grabbing a DOLE Whip at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, you’ll be right on theme with this classic backpack. View on Amazon 8. Moana Cosplay Backpack ©Amazon Disneybounding is a popular activity for visitors going to Disney World…which is why we love these cosplay Loungeflys! This one looks just like Moana’s outfit from the film, with the layered skirt and all. Then there’s the seashells up top, which takes us from hitting “Save to List” to “Add to Cart.” View on Amazon 9. Cinderella Happily Ever After Backpack ©Amazon Sing it with us! Reach out and find your Happily Ever Afteeeeeeeeeeer! Now that we got that out of the way after reading the name of this bag, let’s talk about it! This looks like someone drew a stunning sketch of Cinderella, Prince Charming, and their castle and stuck it on the front of a Loungefly…and to say we’re obsessed is an understatement! If you know anyone getting married this year, this might just be the perfect gift for them. View on Amazon 10. The Muppets Crossbody Bag ©Amazon Wocka Wocka! The Muppets may be missing from Disney’s Hollywood Studios (for now), but they are always in our hearts! This crossbody bag will be perfect to put by your feet when you ride the new version of Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring the Muppets this summer. We love the sticker look around the outside! View on Amazon 11. Haunted Mansion Stretching Room Backpack ©Amazon Is it just me, or is this Loungefly ACTUALLY stretching?! This might be the best interactive bag we’ve seen so far! It’s useful — with a big main compartment and two side pockets to hold belongings — and it’s entertaining. Yes, you can make these portraits on the front of the bag “stretch!” View on Amazon 12. Minnie Mouse Silver Sequin Backpack ©Amazon We don’t know about you, but a Loungefly instantly becomes more valuable when you can wear it with any outfit. That’s why we adore this simple sequin-covered backpack! It has the classic Minnie Mouse design with the ears and bow, but the silver/pink-ish sequins make this ready to go with any clothes you’ve got in your suitcase. One Loungefly for a whole Disney World trip? It can be done with options like this! View on Amazon 13. Rapunzel Lanterns Quilted Backpack ©Loungefly This Loungefly exclusive is sure to sell out soon, and we know it’ll be a popular one in the Disney parks! It has a gorgeous quilted texture and features one of the most popular Disney Princesses…well, ever. The floral details and lanterns are what make this bag stand out! We guarantee everyone will be asking, “OMG, where did you get that?!” View on Loungefly.com 14. Mickey Mouse Orange-Scented Backpack ©BoxLunch Heading to the EPCOT Flower & Garden Festival? Have an obsession with oranges? Either way, this is the Loungefly for you! Not only are the ears and front pocket made to look like an orange, but it is actually scented, too! View on BoxLunch 15. Winnie the Pooh Canvas Backpack ©BoxLunch The canvas Loungefly backpacks are becoming more and more popular, and for good reason! Winnie the Pooh and his friends Rabbit, Piglet, Tigger, Roo, and Eeyore are there, along with some bees and honey, of course. Oh, and don’t forget Eeyore’s tail! View on BoxLunch 16. Princess Tiana Backpack ©BoxLunch Dreams do come true in New Orleans, but they also come true when you get this Loungefly backpack in the mail! We love the colors on this one, and Tiana is looking stunning in her green gown. This design also has a bigger front pocket, making room for even more things! View on BoxLunch 17. Rapunzel & Pascal Backpack ©BoxLunch You know that feeling when you put your pet in a new outfit, and it makes your whole day, but they look at you like Pascal on this Loungefly? Yep, it’s a universal feeling — even Rapunzel isn’t safe from it! If you want that iconic Tangled scene captured on a backpack, this is the one for you. View on BoxLunch 18. Minnie Mouse Cherry Pie Convertible Backpack ©BoxLunch This is literally the cherry on top of this list so far! You know we love it when Disney makes food-related merchandise, and the cherry pie theme transports us straight to summer. Can we find Minnie Mouse-shaped cherries like that at the grocery store, please? View on BoxLunch 19. Chip & Dale Chenille Patch Backpack ©BoxLunch Chip & Dale are some of Disney’s most underrated characters, but you can show off your love for them on this patched Loungefly! This also has a unique design compared to most backpacks. Instead of a front pocket with a horizontal zipper, it’s vertical! No matter which way it faces, we only care about one thing: that acron zipper charm. View on BoxLunch 20. Minnie Mouse Corkboard Pin Display Backpack ©BoxLunch Calling all pin traders! This is the only bag you need this year. Show off your pins and make it even more fun to trade in the parks with this corkboard Loungefly! We love that there’s a touch of Minnie Mouse here, too. Not only does it hold all of your essentials, but it can hold any pins you want to display for the day! View on BoxLunch 21. Mickey Mouse Terrycloth Allover Print Backpack ©BoxLunch You can’t go wrong with a classic, which is why everyone loves Mickey Mouse. That’s also why the DFB team adores this simple, Mickey Mouse allover print backpack! The glove zipper ties it all together, and it can be your one-stop Loungefly to go with any outfit you want to wear. View on BoxLunch 22. Hades Flames Backpack ©BoxLunch Hades may be the ruler of the underworld, but he also serves as one of Disney’s funniest villains ever. We don’t get enough Hades merchandise, which is why we love to see a backpack like this! We know he’s up to something with those blue flames surrounding him… View on BoxLunch 23. Max & Roxanne Dandelion Backpack ©BoxLunch A Goofy Movie is a fan-favorite, and Max and Roxanne are probably one of the most popular Disney couples’ Halloween costumes we see on our Instagram feeds. Then you add the dandelions? Is this Loungefly trying to make me audibly gasp in public so people look at me weirdly? View on BoxLunch 24. Mickey Mouse Patterned Convertible Backpack ©BoxLunch We’ve got another versatile bag on the list! The convertible backpack can transform depending on how you want to wear it, which is ideal for 12+ hour park days. The print is also lively but simple enough in color to match anything you wear! View on BoxLunch 25. Tigger Cosplay Sling Crossbody Bag ©Loungefly The wonderful thing about Tigger is that Tigger makes the most adorable merchandise! Those ears, the stripes, and the bouncy tail? That’s what Loungefly highlighted on this exclusive sling crossbody bag. View on Loungefly.com 26. Aladdin Magic Carpet Drawstring Backpack ©Loungefly We made it all the way to #26, where I put one of my favorite bags on the list! The Magic Carpet is his own character and personality in Aladdin, so it’s only fair that it finally gets the representation it deserves! The little tassels hanging down just make this bag irresistible for fans who watched this movie growing up. View on Loungefly.com Well, that’s a wrap on the most iconic Loungeflys for this year in Disney World. We hope you found your next dream Loungefly on this list! Everglazed Donuts & Cold Brew just debuted some NEW items, and we made a stop by to try them out! You can find Everglazed Donuts & Cold Brew on the West Side of Disney Springs. Donut Hole Skewers As you can probably guess by the name, they specialize in donuts and cold brew — although you can also find some yummy chicken tenders here (who would have guessed chicken tenders at a donut place, but they are delicious!). This time we are after some new donuts, though. We are grabbing a new flavor of doughnut and some donut hole skewers. It’s time for some sweetness! First up, we are starting off with Everglazed’s fluffy donuts in a new form: Donut Hole Skewers. You can grab a skewer for $5, and they come in three flavors: Cookies & Cream. Strawberry Sprinkles, and Chocolate & Peanut Butter Chips. Of course, we couldn’t just grab one flavor, so we tried all three! Donut Hole Skewers Each skewer comes with five donut holes, and the base donut hole is the same for all three skewers. It is just the toppings that change depending on your flavor choice. Donut Hole Skewers Let’s start things off with the Cookies & Cream Donut Hole Skewer. This was probably our least favorite of the three; it was a regular donut hole drizzled with white icing, then sprinkled with Oreo cookie crumbles. While you do taste the cookies & cream flavor, it is not super strong. There wasn’t a whole lot of cookie crumbles, although the ones it did have added a great crunch to the donut holes. We were hoping for a bit more cookies & cream flavor with this one, but this one had our favorite texture of the three. Cookies & Cream Donut Hole Skewer Next up, let’s talk about the Chocolate & Peanut Butter Chips Donut Hole Skewer. These donut holes are drizzled with chocolate icing and topped with peanut butter chips. The chocolate icing had a good amount of chocolate flavor, and we enjoyed the peanut butter flavor from the peanut butter chips. This skewer was our runner-up, but a great option if you love chocolate and peanut butter. Chocolate & Peanut Butter Chips Donut Hole Skewer Last but not least, the Strawberry Sprinkles Donut Hole Skewer. As you can probably guess, this one was our favorite. We thought this one had the most flavor, and you could really tell it was a strawberry sprinkles donut hole. This one was eye-catching, and strawberry icing and sprinkles are such an iconic donut flavor. While this was our favorite, we thought they were all tasty, and which one you would like most will mostly come down to personal preference. Strawberry Sprinkles Donut Hole Skewer Donut hole skewers aren’t the only new arrival at Everglazed, though! We also spotted a new Hot Honey Cornbread Donut, and we were intrigued. You can grab this donut for $6.95. The base is a classic yeast donut that is topped with vanilla icing. It is sprinkled with cornbread crumbs and topped with a dollop of honey frosting and hot honey drizzle. While this donut is supposed to be hot honey, we didn’t get any heat from it. Hot Honey Cornbread Donut This donut is definitely SWEET. Of course, the icing and the donut are sweet, plus you get a lot of sweetness from the honey frosting and the drizzle on top. Plus, the cornbread crumbles also add more sweetness. The donut was light and fluffy, but be prepared for lots of sweetness. The cornbread crumbles added a nice cornbread flavor, but overall, we wish it were a bit more prominent. Hot Honey Cornbread Donut We also wish we had gotten a bit more heat from the hot honey. We could definitely taste the honey flavor, but we didn’t get any heat. We enjoyed this donut, but we wish there was a different flavor in the glaze (instead of just vanilla) or a filling to make it a bit more unique. Hot Honey Cornbread Donut We are at the Disney parks every single day, and we are always on the lookout for the newest food items to review. Plus, we are always revisiting Disney dining options, so you always have the most up-to-date information. We can’t be the only ones who feel like we need to grab a sweet treat every time we visit Magic Kingdom! YUM! On our last visit to the Magic Kingdom, we had to stop by the Main Street Confectionery to try two brand-new cupcake flavors. We knew that was the right choice from the moment we laid eyes on them. Are these something you should try on your next Magic Kingdom day? Let’s find out! The Main Street Confectionery at Magic Kingdom just dropped two new cupcakes — the Mickey Cereal Cupcake and the Mickey Espresso Cupcake! We were intrigued by both of them from their name and the way they looked in that shiny case. New cupcakes! The first one we tried was the Mickey Cereal Cupcake for $6.99. It was a cereal-flavored cupcake with buttercream frosting and dark chocolatey ears, topped with M&M’s Milk Chocolate Minis. Mickey Cereal Cupcake! The frosting and cupcake had almost a light butterscotch flavor to them, but it was very light. The butterscotch flavor wasn’t in your face or anything like that. The frosting on this cupcake was very dense. It was honestly a little difficult to get through with a knife or a fork — that kind of dense. You should try it! The cupcake was slightly dry, but this would be a good option for vanilla cupcake fans. It’s simple, with a little bit of a twist to it! We found the cupcake was very crumbly. The Mickey ears are dark chocolate and have quite a snap to them. It takes a bit of a bite to get a piece. Let’s take a bite! Then we tried the Mickey Espresso Cupcake for $6.99. It was a chocolate cupcake with espresso-flavored buttercream frosting, dark Chocolatey ears, and DOVE Chocolate Pieces on top. Mickey Espresso Cupcake The cupcake itself is just a chocolate flavor, and the espresso is all in the frosting. Again, dense frosting like the other one, and it was a slightly dry cupcake. This one was falling apart even more than the cereal one. When you cut the cupcake, it almost feels like you need to hold it together. It looks tasty! The frosting is like a chocolate espresso flavor. The espresso flavor is light and sweet, comparable to an espresso ice cream, rather than tasting like you are drinking an espresso. The chocolate and espresso combination is good, just need to make sure you get a bit of cupcake and a bit of frosting. Let’s give it a bite Overall, they’re tasty treats, but there are a couple of aspects that make it harder to eat. If you’re in a cake type of mood, we think these are worth a grab at Magic Kingdom! I go to Disney World every week, and there is something I have never, EVER gone to Disney World without — my trusty water bottle. Florida can get super hot during most vacations, and a full water bottle can save the day when it’s too hot. Rapunzel Owala But I hear you asking, “Which water bottle should I bring?” We’ve asked the team here at DFB, and one kept coming back — the iconic Owala water bottle. Most of our team swears by these, so let’s talk about why this might be the perfect water bottle for you. DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission. First up, let’s talk about the incredible features of an Owala FreeSip! These water bottles are stainless steel, so they’re going to keep your water and ice cold, but considering most water bottles do that, what makes these so unique? The locking lid The cap! The mouthpiece is covered with a lid, so you only need to click a button to open it (aka no dirty fingers touching where your mouth will go). Inside, you can sip it with the straw or pour it bag and take a swig, too. We love having options, but having that covered mouthpiece that we can also close without touching it makes this a perfect bottle for Disney World. Top close lid and mouthpiece But what size do you need? I thought this would be debated within the team, but nope, everyone agreed — the 24-ounce is the way to go. This fits easily in the side pouch of a backpack or inside a Loungefly Mini Backpack. It also doesn’t get too heavy, like the 40-ounce version, which some team members didn’t like when full. It’s big enough to keep you going without constantly stopping to refill, but not too big that it feels obnoxious. Rapunzel Owala One of our favorites is this Disney Princess Owala FreeSip. We love our Owala water bottle! Talk about pretty! This one represents Rapunzel, and we can’t get enough of it. Yes, we took a photo shoot of our water bottle because it’s just that pretty. The accents scream Rapunzel without being completely decked out with logos and pictures. It’s simple, elegant, and easy to carry around the parks. Check It Out Here! There’s even a Princess Tiana Owala! ©Amazon It’s perfectly green and looks like Princess Tiana’s dress, which makes us love it even more. There are tons of Disney Princesses to choose from, making it easy for the whole family to have their own without mixing them up. You could even get your favorite Disney Princess to sign it with a marker when you meet them. Check It Out Here! My personal favorite is the Moana Owala. ©Amazon Say that three times fast! This is great for our favorite chief, especially with the perfect shades of orange and teal. You can slide this on the side of your backpack and easily reach back to grab it, or slide up the handle and clip it to a bag or stroller. Check It Out Here! Major changes are coming to Southwest Airlines soon, including baggage rules, seating arrangements, and even boarding policies, which will look different on your next flight. Southwest Airlines at John Wayne International Airport Starting on January 27th, Southwest will require travelers to choose a seat assignment, or one will be assigned for them. This is a stark difference from the airlines’ long-standing “open seating” policy, which essentially allowed anyone to sit in any seat on the plane when boarding. Because of this change, the boarding process is also changing — and we’re sharing everything you need to know. Starting on January 27th, when you fly with Southwest, you need to pick your seat, or it will be assigned for you. If you don’t want to pay anything extra, you’ll find yourself sitting in a Standard Seat. These are standard legroom seats located in the back of the cabin, mostly all behind the emergency exit rows. ©Southwest If you’ve flown with Southwest before, these are likely the most similar to the seats you’re familiar with. But depending on what fare level you choose, it will affect which seat is chosen for you, or what seats you can choose. If you don’t need any extra legroom but you don’t want to be at the back of the aircraft, you’ll want to book a Preferred Seat. These seats will be located in front of the emergency exit rows, aside from the first few rows of seats at the very front of the plane. ©Southwest The final and most expensive option is the Extra Legroom Seat. These seats offer “A roomier experience with more legroom to stretch out, at the front of the cabin and near the exit rows, with up to five additional inches of extra legroom compared to Standard and Preferred seats,” according to Southwest. ©Southwest Flights departing on or before January 26th will follow Southwest’s previous boarding process, in which passengers will be assigned a boarding group (A, B, or C) and position (1-60+) upon checking in for their flight. Then, once onboard, passengers can choose any open seat. Flying to our next adventure! But with the new seating changes, the boarding process has also changed. For flights departing on or after January 27th, seats will be assigned, and passengers will be assigned a boarding group between 1 and 8. Southwest has also introduced new fare tiers: Basic, Choice, Choice Preferred, and Choice Extra. The new boarding process will be determined by which fare type you’ve purchased. ©Southwest All customers on the same reservation will be assigned the same boarding group (aside from Group Travel reservations). Southwest has advised that: Your boarding group will be displayed on your boarding pass. Digital screens in the boarding area will show your boarding group number when it is time to line up and board. Once onboard, locate your assigned seat and stow your carry-on items in the overhead bin or under the seat in front of you. Goodbye boarding numbers With these new tiers, the boarding process has also changed for everyone on the airplane, primarily determined by the fare tiers passengers book: Groups 1 and 2 (Earliest Boarding): must be in a Choice Extra seat, an Extra Legroom seat, an A-List Preferred member who selected their seat at the time of booking, and A-List Members who booked an Extra Legroom seat Groups 3-5: Choice Preferred customers, A-List members in a Preferred or Standard seat, and Rapid Rewards Credit Cardmembers Groups 6-8: Passengers in Choice or Basic seats ©Southwest Basically, if you want to be one of the first to board, you’ll need to spend extra money on a higher tier. If you don’t care when you board AND don’t care where you sit, a Basic fare in a standard seat is a good choice. Southwest says the “goal of this shift is to maintain an efficient and orderly boarding approach that is optimized to assigned seating.” ©Southwest Airlines Ultimately, these changes will take some getting used to — so make sure you pack your patience if you’ve got an upcoming Southwest Airlines flight. In the meantime, we’ll be on the lookout for the latest Southwest and travel news you need to know, so stay tuned to the Disney Food Blog for more! With over 400 restaurants across the Disney World property, some of them are bound to be seriously underrated. Peanut Butter Pie For the past few years, I’ve personally found Boatwright’s Dining Hall to be on that list! I’ve been there for work, and I’ve been there for fun, and every visit has been delightful, cozy, and relaxed. But recently, they changed their menu pretty significantly… so you know we had to stop by! Atmosphere Boatwright’s Dining Hall is located in the main building at Disney’s Port Orleans Riverside Resort. Boatwright’s Dining Hall As it’s a table service spot, reservations are recommended, though this restaurant isn’t as popular as some others on the property. We made it! The theme of the restaurant is boat-making, and you’ll find nods to that throughout the decor, including a wooden hull of a ship. Inside Boatwright’s You will also find woodworking tools throughout the restaurant. In this room, you can spot a wall filled with hand planes Boatwright’s Dining Hall There are a variety of different dining areas, and you can spot details throughout. This room features a ship’s wheel and plenty of wooden accents. But enough about the restaurant — what’s on the menu here?! Menu The menu here is Southern-inspired with lots of cozy homestyle dishes. For appetizers, we often recommend their famous Pimiento Cheese Fritters. Entrees include options like Jambalaya, chicken, steak, or the Taste-of-the-Bayou platter. Boatwright’s Dining Hall Menu The desserts sound just as delicious as the rest! Bourbon Chocolate Cake and Peanut Butter Pie have recently been added to the menu. Dessert Menu And now, onto the main event — the food! Eats We started off by enjoying the Bread Service, which has changed a bit since our last visit. It is now a ciabatta bread with a chimichurri butter. Previously, the bread service was cornbread with honey butter. The new ciabatta bread has a lovely crust on the outside with a bit of chew. The inside is soft, light, and fluffy. Bread Service The chimichurri butter is whipped, which gives it a light texture. You definitely taste the chimichurri flavor, but it isn’t overwhelming. We were super impressed by the flavors and loved that even though it was fairly simple, it was delicious! Yum! The most interesting new items on the menu are the entrees, desserts, and enhancements, so I decided to skip the appetizers this go around and start with the Shrimp Pappardelle for $28. It’s made with Roasted Garlic-Chardonnay Cream Sauce, Sun-dried Tomatoes, and Spinach. You get five shrimp in this dish, but they are LARGE! Definitely a satisfying amount of shrimp for the dish. Shrimp Pappardelle The garlic-Chardonnay cream sauce tasted fairly basic to us; we didn’t get much flavor beyond the cream and garlic. The main flavor we tasted was the sun-dried tomatoes. The tomatoes brought a bright tanginess to the dish. This dish also has spinach, but you don’t get much flavor from it. Shrimp Pappardelle We thought the pasta was slightly overcooked; it was very soft and breaking apart with our fork. It was tasty, but definitely not our favorite pasta dish in Disney World. But it will hit the spot if you are looking for a seafood pasta dish. Shrimp Pappardelle We wanted to try all three of the new “enhancements” (AKA sides) that they’re offering now, and who’s stopping us?! First up is the Chimichurri Grilled Shrimp for $10. The shrimp has a grilled smoky flavor, and then they are covered in a chimichurri sauce. The chimichurri sauce made the dish a bit spicy and a bit zesty. It gave the dish a great brightness and lots of flavor. The shrimp were once again huge, though they still had tails, so you will need to remove them. The dish is a bit pricey, but you do get quite a bit of meat from the size of the shrimp. Chimichurri Grilled Shrimp The potatoes were really calling my name, and there are not one, but TWO kinds. These are the Spiced Smoked Gouda Potatoes for $5.50. This is potato wedges rolled in spices, topped with a Gouda cheese sauce, and then sprinkled with chives. The spices have a slight bit of heat, but remind us a lot of a seasoning salt. Spiced Smoked Gouda Potatoes The cheese sauce has a rich, smoked Gouda flavor. It’s cheesy, with a bit of earthiness and nuttiness. If you are a potato and cheese person, you need to grab this! Definitely chow down on these as soon as they hit the table, as the cheese sauce can get a bit cold. Spiced Smoked Gouda Potatoes The other taters are the Bacon and Cheddar Loaded Mashed Potatoes for $6. These reminded one of our reporters of the dish their grandma makes at Christmastime, and it ended up tasting exactly like it! The base of the dish is mashed potatoes with a bit of skin still on them. We tasted garlic and a lot of butter. They are covered in a layer of cheddar cheese and sprinkled with bacon and chives. Bacon and Cheddar Loaded Mashed Potatoes The potatoes are creamy and a bit chunky. They aren’t whipped to a completely smooth consistency, which we think really worked with this dish. The cheddar cheese was baked to perfection, with a lovely, slightly crispy crust. This dish is full of classic flavors, and if you can’t get enough cheddar cheese and mashed potatoes, it’s a must-get! Bacon and Cheddar Loaded Mashed Potatoes Of course, it wouldn’t be a truly wonderful meal without dessert. Once again, we are going big by ordering BOTH new desserts. Say hello to the Peanut Butter Pie for $9. It’s topped with Chocolate Cookie Crumbs and Chantilly Cream. WOW! This was delicious. It has a thin, cookie crust, and the inside is a mousse. It is served with candied peanuts and salted caramel. Peanut Butter Pie We loved the combination of sweet and salty, and how all the flavors worked together. The mousse is light, with a strong peanut flavor, and the cookie crust adds a bit of texture and chocolate. You also get a bit of crunch and sweetness from the peanuts, along with more peanut flavor. Then the saltiness from the caramel comes into play, with a rich caramel flavor. We definitely think this will be a hit at Boatwright’s! Peanut Butter Pie And then here’s the Bourbon Chocolate Cake for $12. It’s made with Milk Chocolate Mousse and Dark Chocolate Ganache. Alright, we’re being honest: this didn’t beat the amazing chocolate cake at Steakhouse 71, but it is still a yummy chocolate cake. It has milk chocolate mousse between the cake layers, then it is covered in dark chocolate ganache. Bourbon Chocolate Cake The dark chocolate ganache is silky and full of rich dark chocolate flavor. Inside, the chocolate mousse is light and fluffy but lacks depth of flavor. You can taste a hint of the bourbon in the chocolate cake. The cake itself is light and fluffy, but almost too light as it had a hard time holding the weight of the other elements. We think this cake could be slightly denser to hold up better, as our cake was leaning from its own weight. Bourbon Chocolate Cake So how did these new items stack up? Nosh or Not This Disney World restaurant is a must-visit if… You are looking for a hidden gem. We have had delicious meals at Boatwright’s Dining Hall time and time again. While we recommend reservations, this restaurant isn’t as popular, so you can usually make it in without one. You are craving cheese and potatoes. While they definitely aren’t the only yummy thing on the menu, we were super impressed with the new Bacon and Cheddar Loaded Mashed Potatoes and Spiced Smoked Gouda Potatoes. You want to escape the hustle and bustle of the theme parks for some yummy food. We always love a trip over to the tranquil Port Orleans hotels. You get to escape the hustle and bustle for a bit while you enjoy some delicious food. You can always take a scenic walk around the resort before or after your meal too! You should skip this Disney World spot if… You want a quick meal. This is a table service restaurant, so make sure you have enough time to enjoy your meal. Plus, if you aren’t already at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – Riverside, it can take a bit to get over here. If you are at the hotel and looking for a quick meal, head over to Riverside Mill Food Court. You have picky eaters in your group. Definitely check out the menu before you make the trek over here. While picky eaters might find something they enjoy, there might not be something for everyone at this restaurant. You want views of fireworks or character dining. Boatwright’s Dining Hall overlooks the Sassagoula River, but you won’t find a great fireworks view or the chance to meet characters here. Overall Boatwright’s Dining Hall has been an underrated restaurant in our opinion for quite a while, and with the new menu, we think this restaurant remains an underrated gem. The standouts for us were the Bacon and Cheddar Loaded Mashed Potatoes, the Spiced Smoked Gouda Potatoes, and the Peanut Butter Pie. We also have to give a shout-out to the Pimento Cheese Fritters. We didn’t grab this this time, but it is still a delicious option at this restaurant! Boatwright’s Dining Hall has a new menu! In the meantime, we’ll be on the lookout for more restaurant updates from Disney World and beyond. Make sure you stay tuned to the Disney Food Blog for the latest Disney news and more! Here at Disney Food Blog, we’re pretty obsessed with festival food. We love going from booth to booth and picking up limited-time snacks in those little paper dishes. Disneyland’s Lunar New Year Festival is officially here, and we’re trying all the food! Kung Pao Bao We stopped by Prosperity Bao & Buns in Disney California Adventure to see what’s in store — what’s new, what’s returning, and what you can’t miss when you visit. The festival is packed with exclusive meet and greets, special entertainment, and merchandise, and we’re exploring it all. Let’s see if Prosperity Bao & Buns should be on your “must-visit” list. This year, we’re celebrating the Year of the Horse, a symbol of independence, energy, and strength at Disney California Adventure until February 22nd. These snacks are only here for a limited time, so you want to make sure you don’t miss out on some great food! Menu Let’s see what Prosperity Bao & Buns, located near the Performance Corridor, is serving up for the festival this year. Prosperity Bao & Buns Menu Now that we know what we’re ordering, let’s dive in! Eats We started with the Char Siu BBQ Pork Bao with pickled red onions and jalapeño for $9.25, a returning snack. It’s vibrant and colorful, but the flavors are sweet and spicy. The jalapeños add a nice kick, while the pickled onions add some tanginess and crunch. The pork is tender and flavorful. However, the bun gets soggy quickly, so you’ll want to dig in fast! Char Siu BBQ Pork Bao Also returning, we grabbed the Kung Pao Bao with plant-based chicken, toasted peanuts, and scallions for $9. You can’t tell this is plant-based, at all. The “chicken” has a great texture and flavor, and the peanuts add a wonderful nutty flavor, as well as some nice crunch. We were a little worried this could be a little spicy, but it’s not spicy at all, so this is one of those dishes that could please a lot of folks. The bao is soft and fresh. Kung Pao Bao Drinks There are four new drinks available this year, including Brewery X, Grapefruit Citrus Seltzer for $15.25, the Coronado Brewing Co., Nado Premium Rice Lager for $17, Harland Brewing Co., Lucky Horse for $18.50, and Unsung Brewing Company Photo Nuclear Orange for $18.50. We grabbed the Year of the Horse Beer Flight, which includes the Brewery X Grapefruit Citrus Seltzer, Coronado Brewing Co. Nado Premium Rice Lager, Unsung Brewery Company Photo Nuclear Orange Wheat Ale, and Harland Brewing Co. Lucky Horse West Coast IPA for $19.25. Year of the Horse Beer Flight The Brewery X, Grapefruit Citrus Seltzer has a lovely grapefruit flavor, and really doesn’t taste like alcohol at all. It’s crisp and dry. The Coronado Brewing Co., Nado Premium Rice Lager tastes like a typical lager with a simple beer taste, but it’s also refreshing. The Unsung Brewing Company Photo Nuclear Orange was probably our favorite because it tastes like a Creamsicle. The orange flavor is really fun and the beer itself is smooth and creamy. The Harland Brewing Co., Lucky Horse has a nice fruity scent and flavor, but with some hoppiness that takes away from the fruit flavors a bit. Overall This could already be one of our favorite booths at the festival. We really enjoyed both dishes available here, and the beers are great, especially the Unsung Brewing Company Photo Nuclear Orange, which we think even non-beer drinkers might appreciate! This is a booth you don’t want to skip. Is there anything better than a festival with tons of new foods and drinks in a Disney park? We spend our days going from booth to booth because it’s truly what we love. Luckily for us, Disneyland’s Lunar New Year Festival is officially here! Red Dragon Spice Traders We stopped by the Red Dragon Spice Traders booth in Disney California Adventure to bring our FULL REVIEW of what’s really worth your time and money here. With tons of food, drinks, rare characters, entertainment, and more at this festival, we’re here to see what really deserves to be on your “must-do” list. This year, we’re celebrating the Year of the Horse, a symbol of independence, energy, and strength at Disney California Adventure! This festival is available from January 23 through February 22nd. This doesn’t give us much time to enjoy these limited-time snacks, so let’s stop chit-chatting and dive in! Menu Red Dragon Spice Traders is located near the Performance Corridor, across from Sonoma Terrace. On the menu, you’ll find Spicy Chicken Wings, a Mandarin Orange Cream Puff, and some cocktails! 2026 Menu After staring at these delicious photos for a while, we decided to dive in! Eats We started with the Spicy Chicken Wings with sesame seaweed crunch for $9.00, which is a returning snack. Fire Chicken Wings The chicken was crunchy, peppery, and moist. They’re a great lighter lunch to grab if you’re hungry but not too hungry. They do have a bit of a kick to them, so be warned! The chicken! Another returning bite is the Mandarin Orange Cream Puff filled with citrus cream and Mandarin compote for $9.00. Mandarin Orange Cream Puff This one is fantastic! It has a crispy topping baked on a soft cream puff with a fruity filling. The mandarin compote is a little like baby food consistency, but it tastes super fresh. The citrus cream has a thicker consistency than the compote and is super smooth. Drinks We tried the new Honeydew Colada with Rum, melon liqueur, honeydew cream, coconut cream, and sweet and sour, topped with a slushy made with DOLE Whip Pineapple for $18.50. Honeydew Colada The honeydew flavor in this drink is super sweet and very strong. The coconut cream cuts the sweetness a bit, but not a whole lot. The slushy-like consistency is fun, so we did appreciate that. If you stir it well, the sweetness evens out a bit, and it’s much more tolerable. If you don’t like honeydew, this might not be for you. We also grabbed the Soju Cocktail Flight for $19.50. It comes with the Peach Yogurt Soju Cocktail, Mango Soju Cocktail, and Green Apple Soju Cocktail. Soju Cocktail Flight The Mango Soju Cocktail is new, and it’s made with Soju, Sprite, mango purée, and sweet and sour. It was very hard to taste any alcohol in this one. It had a sweet and fresh taste! Mango Soju Cocktail The Peach Yogurt Soju Cocktail is made with Soju, Sprite, white peach syrup, and yogurt. The white color was a little off-putting, but the flavor was really nice. You could taste the hints of peach and Sprite. This drink was dangerous because it goes down very easily. Peach Yogurt Soju Cocktail Lastly, the new Green Apple Soju Cocktail with Soju, grapefruit liqueur, green apple syrup, and sweet and sour. This one, we don’t have much to say other than it tastes like an apple Jolly Rancher. Green Apple Soju Cocktail You can get all three cocktails as separate drinks if there’s one you really enjoyed from the flight! Overall Overall, the food is good here, but you should really come for the drinks! We think this booth is worth the stop, especially with its new options. Here’s our spread! We’re trying everything at the 2026 Lunar New Year Festival in Disneyland, so make sure you keep following Disney Food Blog for more food reviews so you know what to get when you visit. It’s finally time for a food festival in Anaheim! We have been eagerly awaiting new bites, sips, and more. Luckily for us, Disneyland’s Lunar New Year Festival is officially here to provide. Longevity Noodle Co. We stopped by Longevity Noodle Co. in Disney California Adventure to put this returning booth to the test. This spot has a limited but potentially strong menu, so we’re here to put the three items here to the test. Let’s see what’s worth your time and money at this popular festival! This year, we’re celebrating the Year of the Horse, a symbol of independence, energy, and strength at Disney California Adventure from now until February 22nd. This festival isn’t a long one, so if you want to put it to the test, don’t hesitate. We’re here on the first day to let you know which items are actually worth it! Menu Let’s see what Longevity Noodle Co, located near Golden Zephyr, is serving up for the festival this year. Japchae Noodles, Garlic Noodles, and a cocktail are on the menu. Longevity Noodle Co. Menu Now that we know what we’re ordering, let’s dive in! Eats We started with the Japchae Noodles with Kalbi short rib for $9.50. This is a brand-new snack, and we normally love Japchae, but how does Disney’s hold up? Japchae Noodles Initially, the gelatinous look of these noodles had us feeling a bit hesitant, but this dish actually has some really nice flavor combos. The Kalbi short rib has a sweet and savory flavor reminiscent of the beef in a beef and broccoli dish. That beef was cooked perfectly, while the noodles were soft, and the veggies added a nice flavor to the mix. There are even some hidden mushrooms in this dish that look like the beef, so if you aren’t into mushrooms, beware. Japchae Noodles A returning option is the Garlic Noodles with long noodles tossed in zesty garlic butter with parmesan for $8.50. The description alone made our stomachs growl; however, the dish itself left a little to be desired. Garlic Noodles For starters, the noodles were a bit on the dry side, as well as a bit salty. On top of that, the garlic flavor is pretty strong, and for sure overpowers the Parmesan taste a bit. In addition, the dish feels a bit overpriced at $8.50 for what amounts to some plain noodles topped with garlic and parmesan. Drinks For drinks, a returning option to sip on is the Strawberry Lychee Cocktail for $18.50. It’s made with bourbon, strawberry purée, lychee syrup, and lime juice, garnished with a lime gummy wedge. Strawberry-Lychee Cocktail We’ve enjoyed this in the past, though we have found it to be on the sweeter side! Overall The new Japchae Noodles are the highlight of the Longevity Noodle Co. this year, offering a delicious new dining option. For better or worse, the Garlic Noodles offer the same consistencies – and inconsistencies – as previous years. Japchae Noodles and Garlic Noodles We’re trying everything at the 2026 Lunar New Year Festival in Disneyland, so make sure you keep following Disney Food Blog for more food reviews so you know what to get when you visit. There is a lot of construction happening in Disney World, and it doesn’t look like it’s set to stop anytime soon. It seems like we’re seeing new projects pop up a lot recently for Disney World, in addition to the projects that began last year, like the new lands, the Magic Kingdom expansion, hotel updates, and more. We’re even getting a brand NEW hotel. Driving to Hollywood Studios Well, construction is about to strike again at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, which already has two huge projects happening right now: a reimagining of Animation Courtyard and a brand new Monsters, Inc. land. Well, just outside the park, the toll plaza for Hollywood Studios also seems to be getting a big update soon. Some construction work is set to happen at the toll plaza that leads into Hollywood Studios’ parking lot. This is the entrance you see when you drive to Hollywood Studios. A new permit has been filed for “general construction” of the address associated with that area. It seems like the toll plaza might be sporting a new look soon! This could look different soon. This means that you might see construction when driving to Hollywood Studios, or even when you’re taking a Disney bus to the park. This could also slow down traffic as construction could close parts of the toll plaza, limiting traffic through it. So if you’re headed to Hollywood Studios once this work begins, you’ll want to give yourself a little extra time to get to the park, just in case! Sign at toll plaza The work is being done by PCL Construction Services, Inc., which specializes in both general construction and fabrication and themed work. In the past, the company has worked with Disney World, Universal Orlando, LEGOLAND Florida, SeaWorld, and Busch Gardens Tampa Bay. We don’t know exactly what kind of work will be done on the toll plaza, but we’ll be keeping an eye out for construction and will keep you updated, so stay tuned to DFB for more. The EPCOT festivals are some of our favorite times of the year at Disney World, and we know our readers love them too! Spaceship Earth at Night during the EPCOT Festival of the Arts You get unique experiences with delicious food, immersive entertainment, and special photo ops that guests look forward to year after year. From the gorgeous topiaries of Flower & Garden to the global tastes of Food & Wine, each festival brings something special, and the Festival of the Arts is no exception. But this particular celebration is one you need to plan carefully, because it’s noticeably shorter than the others and its final day is rapidly approaching! The 2026 EPCOT International Festival of the Arts is running now through February 23, 2026, and that means there’s only one month left to experience this art-filled celebration before it ends. Unlike EPCOT’s longer festivals, Festival of the Arts showcases the types of art: culinary, visual, and performing arts. You’ll find food booths throughout the park, where art isn’t just on the walls, it’s on your plate too, with creatively presented dishes that look just as good as they taste. 2025 EPCOT Festival of the Arts This is arguably one of Disney fans’ favorite festivals, and you really need to time it right to experience it before it’s gone. There is a lot to do here! Guests can also take part in the Wonderful Walk of Colorful Cuisine, a food-centric scavenger hunt in the Festival Passport that rewards you for sampling select items across the park with a complimentary treat at the end. The Festival of the Arts brings live performances and visual art experiences to life across EPCOT. The popular Disney on Broadway Concert Series returns, featuring Broadway stars performing beloved Disney songs throughout the festival. Aladdin on Broadway As the Festival of the Arts enters its final month, crowds may pick up as guests rush to enjoy the colorful menus, performances, and grab some art one last time before the event wraps on February 23rd. Whether you’re craving that perfect photo op with chalk art, want to hear Broadway tunes in the open air, or simply want to savor delectable art-inspired bites, now is the time to make your plans and book those Festival visits while you still can. Chalk Art There’s only one month left to experience everything the Festival of the Arts has to offer, and you won’t want to miss a moment of it. Since Disney World opened with the Contemporary and Polynesian back in 1971, hotel guests have had access to numerous perks while staying on property, ranging from transportation to dining and park access. Hippy Dippy Pool at Disney’s Pop Century Resort Guests staying at a Disney hotel in the summer of 2026 will have access to several perks, including some popular options that are returning after having been successfully introduced in 2025. Free Water Park Tickets! In 2025, Disney introduced a new water park perk for hotel guests, which gave each member of their party admission to one of Walt Disney World’s water parks on their check-in day. The perk is returning in 2026…. with some differences. Typhoon Lagoon While the offer was available for all of 2025, that’s not the case this year. Instead, 2026 will see the complementary ticket available from May 26th through September 8th, and guests will be able to choose between Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon, as both will be open. Blizzard Beach 30 Minute Early Entry… with Character! Guests staying at Disney Resort hotels (and select other hotels) can take advantage of a 30-minute early entry into each of Walt Disney World’s theme parks every day of their stay (including check-in and check-out days). Early Entry at EPCOT Furthermore, as part of the returning Cool Kids Summer promotion, Disney will offer special character meet & greets during Early Entry. There’s no list of which characters will be available in each park, but they WILL be different! Disney is encouraging guests to visit the different parks for Early Entry throughout their trip so they can take advantage of all the special meet and greets. Look for Cast Members in blue! Character Appearances In 2025, certain Disney hotels hosted scheduled character meet & greets on their property, and that’s going to continue in 2026. This game-changer allowed guests to have a taste of the parks’ character encounters on days when they chose not to leave their hotels. Character Meet and Greet sign at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort The program has been confirmed to return for the summer of 2026 as part of the Cool Kids Summer promotion, expanding to the following hotels: Disney’s Art of Animation Resort Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort Disney’s Pop Century Resort Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – Riverside Art of Animation Of course, those are in addition to some of the major perks that are always included in Disney hotel stays, including: Extended Evening Hours are offered at select Walt Disney World theme parks on select nights. However, these two extra hours are only available to guests at Disney Deluxe Tier or Deluxe Villa resort guests. Guests staying at Walt Disney World Hotels can begin booking their Lightning Lanes 7 days in advance of the first day of their stay for the duration of their stay (up to 14 days). This is 4 days sooner than non-Disney guests who’ve purchased theme park tickets. Meanwhile, Disney hotel guests can also book their dining 60 days in advance of the first day of their stay, once again for the full duration of their stay (up to 14 days). Animal Kingdom During Extended Evening Hours Guests staying at Walt Disney World hotels in the summer of 2026 will have access to a slew of new and returning perks! A historic storm will spread “destructive ice and heavy snow over 34 states through Monday in the South, Midwest, and Northeast, including a potential nor’easter,” according to The Weather Channel. The storm will likely result in dangerous travel for days and “catastrophic” ice accumulations in the South, which could cause widespread power outages and tree damage. ©The Weather Channel According to Fox Business, airlines are already canceling flights and warning travelers of major disruptions in the coming days. As well, many airlines are offering customers the option to rebook without change or cancellation fees. Many states are bracing for impact as a powerful winter storm is developing that will impact states from New Mexico to Maine. Winter storm alerts have been issued from the southern Rockies to the East Coast, affecting dozens of major cities, including Dallas, Cincinnati, Philadelphia, Boston, and more. The Weather Channel warns that this storm has the potential to be the heaviest snowstorm “since early February 1998 in Louisville, Kentucky, only the third one-foot-plus snowstorm on record in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and the first one-foot-plus snowstorm in 10 years in both Philadelphia and Washington, D.C.” ©The Weather Channel If you were planning to travel this weekend and are flexible, you might consider postponing your trip until after the winter storm, as airlines are bracing for major disruptions. However, if you cannot postpone your travel, keep an eye on your flight and be prepared for potential delays and cancellations. Airlines have stated that using mobile apps and airline websites will provide the fastest rebooking options as the storm approaches. Carriers have already said “the mix of ice, snow, and strong winds could slow airport operations, force delays and cancellations, and complicate rebookings,” according to Fox Business. ©The Weather Channel Now, you may be wondering what will happen if your flight is canceled or delayed. Is there anything that your airline owes you? It is important to note that severe weather is considered an uncontrollable factor, which limits what an airline owes you. If your flight is canceled for any reason and you choose not to fly, Department of Transportation rules require the airline to offer you a refund. In order to get that refund, you must refuse the changed flight, not choose to rebook on a different flight, and refuse any form of other compensation. If your flight is delayed for uncontrollable reasons, your airline owes you nothing beyond eventually getting you to your destination. But during severe weather, delays could be significant and may eventually lead to cancellations. Orlando International Airport Currently, many airlines are offering travelers the option to rebook their upcoming travel without any change or cancellation fees. Airlines are expecting significant impacts from this storm, so be prepared for delays and cancellations or consider changing your plans to a different time if possible. Keep in mind that even if you aren’t traveling to or from an area affected by the storm, you might still be affected, as planes and crews are stranded by the weather. Orlando International Airport We are always keeping an eye out for news that could impact your travels, so stay tuned to DFB for more! Plus, we are in the Disney parks every single day to make sure you have the most up-to-date information for your Disney vacation. We hope everyone stays safe and warm during the incoming winter storm. Don’t look now, but the 2026 Lunar New Year Festival at Disney California Adventure is already here! We’re so excited to party, and we’re going to give you all the details on everything this festival has to offer you. Happy Lunar New Year! This year, the celebration will run from January 23rd through February 22nd. At least…that’s what we thought. We just went to Disney California Adventure, and the festival has started EARLY. So, we’re trying out all the food and drinks, checking out the entertainment, and taking a glance at the merchandise — and we’re taking you with us! The Lunar New Year Festival celebrates Chinese, Korean, and Vietnamese culture, and we’ll be the first to say that this festival needs to get talked about a LOT more than it does. The festival has so much to offer — why don’t you take a look! The Lunar New Year Festival is here! But let’s talk about the food and drinks (because you know that’s a big part of why we’re here!) Eats, Treats, and Drinks There are so many festival booths around the park, with so many tasty things we NEED to try every year. So, the first thing we always do when we get to the festival is grab a festival Tasting Passport. It acts as a guide to everything going on during the festival — including a map of every food booth with each menu, where to find entertainment, and more. Be sure to grab a guide! If you’re planning on getting food and drinks at the festival booths (like, a lot of food and drinks), we recommend getting the Sip and Savor Pass. It gives you six digital coupons that can be redeemed for food and non-alcoholic beverage items at the food booths. It’s super useful for those wanting to get a lot or going for multiple days. Bamboo Blessings food booth Lastly, there will be marketplaces around that aren’t festival booths, but have great offerings during the celebration. Entertainment Ah, how do we even get started on the amazing and unique entertainment offered during this festival?! This year, the festival will have Mulan’s New Year Procession, which features music and costumed performers doing traditional Chinese dances. We know what you’re thinking, and yes, the show will feature Mulan, Mushu, and other beloved Disney characters. The nighttime show is called Hurry Home — A Lunar New Year Celebration. It’s a pre-show that accompanies World of Color during the festival. Special Character Meet and Greets Like all good Disney festivals, you’ll have the opportunity for some special and exclusive character meet-and-greets! We haven’t met any special characters yet, but the photo op locations are all set up! Characters will be here soon! You’ll want to keep an eye out for these special character interactions. Merchandise Oh, and we can’t forget about the exclusive merchandise. There’s a lot you’ll want to splurge on this year. We’ll be shopping the collection soon, and we’ll share all the photos with you! We’re going to be at the festival checking out everything, so make sure that you’re staying tuned to the Disney Food Blog to get all the insight into the celebration.
