  2. This Disney Cruise Line update is a total game-changer for photo lovers. Mickey Mouse on Castaway Cay A Disney cruise is packed with once-in-a-lifetime moments like character hugs, sunset sail-aways, family dinners, pirate nights, and memories you swear you’ll never forget. And then you get home, start scrolling through your phone, and realize you absolutely forgot to buy that one perfect photo. If that’s ever happened to you, you’re going to want to hear about this new Disney Cruise Line update! Big news for Disney Cruise Line fans who love capturing memories! DCL has officially updated its photo policy to allow U.S. residents to purchase cruise photos after debarkation. Previously, you needed to buy your photos (whether digital downloads or printed keepsakes) before leaving the ship on the last day, which often felt rushed or stressful during a bittersweet goodbye. With this change, U.S. residents now have extra time after returning home to review, select, and purchase their favorite vacation photos. Disney Treasure This recent update is already sparking excitement among Disney cruisers who know how valuable those pictures can be. From character meet-and-greets to deck moments with the family, balcony sunsets, and candid shots around Castaway Cay, DCL’s onboard photographers capture so many special moments that having a little extra time to decide what you really want makes a big difference. It’s especially helpful for families who may not have had time to flip through galleries in the hectic last hours of their cruise. Now, though, you can go through them at your own pace once you’re unpacked at home! Disney Dream at Castaway Cay Photos will be available for 45 days from the day taken, and you’ll be able to view and purchase individual photos or packages on the Disney Cruise Line Photos website. As a reminder, photo packages purchased before you set sail are cheaper than waiting until you’re onboard or after your cruise to add to your sailing. Spider-Man! For now, this option applies to U.S. residents, and Disney hasn’t indicated whether it’ll be expanded to international cruisers yet. However, this change is a big quality-of-life improvement for many cruisers who have been searching for more flexibility and less pressure before disembarking. If you’re sailing with Disney soon, it’s worth planning your photo review after the fact instead of feeling rushed on the final morning. As always, we’ll share any updates if Disney further expands eligibility tied to this new after-cruise purchase window. Be sure to stay tuned with us right here at DFB so you don’t miss an update! 6. Disney’s hotels are going through some major transformations. Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort If you’re ever expecting Disney news to ever slow, you’re making a losing bet. Over the past year-plus, Disney has quietly (and not so quietly) announced some MASSIVE changes coming to its hotels around the world. New hotels are being built, classic resorts are being reimagined, and perks are shifting in ways that will affect your next stay. Let’s break it all down. Walt Disney World Over in Disney World, hotel construction and refurbishment are basically in full swing. Tons of resorts have undergone updates, from Value Resorts like Pop Century and the All-Star Resorts, to Moderates like Port Orleans — Riverside, and even Deluxe Resorts including Animal Kingdom Lodge, BoardWalk, Contemporary, Beach Club, and Polynesian Village Resort & Villas. Island Tower construction in 2024 Well, the future holds more of the same. We’re talking simple room updates, pool closures at Caribbean Beach Resort, Old Key West Resort, Contemporary, All-Star Movies, and Fort Wilderness, exterior work on multiple hotels, and extended phased refurbishments stretching into 2027. Meadow Swimmin’ Pool Disney’s Grand Floridian recently revamped its lobby with some new designs and a brand-new birdcage bar called The Perch, but The Garden View Lounge — Tea Experience will also be reopening on March 19th, 2026, with a new menu! ©Disney On top of that, Disney is actively building a brand-new Deluxe DVC hotel called Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge, with a projected opening around 2027. ©bioreconstruct Hotel perks have also been adjusted, such as the return of the complimentary water park admission (to Blizzard Beach or Typhoon Lagoon) for Disney hotel guests in 2026 for check-in day only, from May 26th through September 8th, 2026. Typhoon Lagoon And that’s just some of the major announcements made so far. Expect more major hotel announcements to be made nearly every month moving forward. Disneyland Out west at the Disneyland Resort, hotel changes are less about new construction and more about adjusting the guest experience. Notably, one of the biggest changes is happening at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa. Grand Californian Hotel The renowned Napa Rose restaurant is getting a complete transformation with decor updates, outdoor seating enhancements, and a new menu. The restaurant will officially reopen on February 6th, 2026, with a seasonal prix fixe menu (with the option to add custom wine pairings to a multi-course meal), a new and enhanced children’s menu for kids 9 and younger, a Chef’s Counter experience, and a private dining room. ©Disney Additionally, this is the first year where Disneyland Resort hotel guests WON’T get Early Park Entry, but will instead receive one Lightning Lane Pass each for eligible Multi Pass attractions. The pass is limited to one use per person and is only allocated once, so don’t expect to get a new pass each day. Pixar Place Hotel The dedicated entrance for Pixar Place Hotel guests to Disney California Adventure has also been closed permanently. Disneyland Paris Across the Atlantic, Disneyland Paris is deep into a long-term hotel transformation plan. The biggest confirmed change is the Disney Sequoia Lodge refurbishment that will include updated rooms, revamped dining spaces, and a more modern nature-inspired aesthetic. The hotel will remain open during this work. ©Disney We’ll keep you posted when more details about the new hotel are revealed. Shanghai Disney Resort And then there’s Shanghai Disney Resort, which is actively constructing its third themed hotel along Wishing Star Lake, with the structure already completed and interior work underway. Shanghai Disneyland Hotel ©Shanghai Disney Resort While the paint has yet to dry, Disney has officially announced plans for a fourth themed hotel located near the park entrance and integrated with an expanded Disneytown district. A major investment, these hotels will dramatically change Shanghai Disney when they open within the next several years. ©Shanghai Disney Resort Disney is redefining what “staying on property” means around the world, and there is no way the hotel updates are stopping anytime soon. We’ll be covering every major and minor development that comes out, so be sure to keep it posted right here at DFB to stay in the know! Disney Is Opening BRAND NEW Hotels. Here’s the Full List. 7. National Plan for Vacation Day is the perfect reminder to start dreaming up your next Disney vacation! With so many destinations, resorts, and experiences to explore, planning is an exciting opportunity to talk through ideas and imagine what your trip could look like with friends or family. The best part? You don’t have to plan everything at once. By starting with a few key decisions, you can ease into the planning process and build a Disney vacation that feels fun, manageable, and full of excitement from the very beginning. Here are the basics to get you started. Choose the Right Type of Disney Vacation for Your Travel Style One of the most important first steps in Disney vacation planning is deciding what kind of trip you want to take. Not all Disney vacations are the same, and choosing the right type sets the tone for your entire experience. If you love nonstop fun and iconic attractions, a theme park vacation might be the perfect fit. Looking for something a little more different? With Disney Cruise Line, dining, entertainment, and relaxation are all handled the moment you step onboard. Prefer a slower, more relaxed pace? Resort-style destinations, like Aulani in Hawaii or Disney’s Vero Beach and Hilton Head resorts, blend Disney service with relaxing days by the water. Enjoy beautiful beachside settings, leisurely activities, and the kind of laid-back vacation where you can soak up the sun and still experience a touch of Disney magic. And if you’re craving something new, international Disney destinations add a sense of adventure while still delivering that signature Disney magic. Think about what matters most: pace, activities, relaxation, or exploration, and use those priorities to guide your decision. Best Time to Visit Disney: Crowd Levels, Weather, and Events Every Disney vacation is magical in its own way, and when you choose to travel can help tailor the experience to what matters most to you. Many factors like crowd levels, weather, and seasonal events all play a role in shaping your experience. Choosing when to visit can really shape your trip, and guests who have more flexibility with timing can check the ticket calendar to find days with ticket options that work best for them. During non peak times of the year, you might find shorter waits for popular attractions. And when festivals roll around, you’ll discover limited‑time entertainment, treats, and experiences that make your visit feel extra special. Picking the season that matches your vibe can help you soak up more of what you love and make the most of what you spend. Having some flexibility with your travel dates can make planning feel easier and help you create the kind of Disney vacation you’re looking for. planDisney Pro Tip “My top value tip for a Disneyland vacation is to plan it around special promotions or discounted dates, if possible. Disneyland recently released new promotions for military families that I am eager to take advantage of. I see many more trips in our future this year because of the promotion. ” – Karmeen M. How to Choose the Best Disney Resort for Your Vacation Where you stay is part of the magic! Your resort can set the tone for your Disney vacation, from the excitement of getting to the parks to the relaxing moments at the end of the day. Choosing the right one helps make every part of your trip feel enjoyable and special. Think about what will make your trip feel easier and more comfortable, whether that’s being close to the parks, having convenient transportation options, or enjoying on-site dining and recreation. Your budget, travel style, and how much downtime you plan to have can all help guide your Disney Resort choice. You can head to the Disney Parks YouTube channel to see full resort and room tours to get an idea of which resort you want to stay at next. planDisney Pro Tip “Rest is an absolute must when traveling with little ones. Whether it’s a mid-afternoon nap back at the hotel or some relaxing time in a quieter corner of the parks, little ones and caregivers alike need a break from the hustle and bustle that a Disney vacation can offer.” – Scott S. What to Book in Advance When Planning a Disney Vacation Understanding what to book ahead of time is one of the most helpful parts of Disney vacation planning. Booking early can help you lock in your plans and reduce stress as your trip approaches. This often includes tickets or cruise reservations, which secure your travel dates. Depending on your destination, you may also need to plan for park access or reservations. Popular dining locations and special experiences tend to fill up quickly, so reserving those in advance can help you enjoy the experiences you’re most excited about. Not everything needs to be planned ahead, but knowing the basics helps set expectations. planDisney Pro Tip “For first-timers headed to Disney World, I always recommend downloading the MyDisneyExperience app and familiarizing themselves with Disney World’s transportation system ahead of time. When you show up prepared, you minimize stress and maximize the magic! This can also include booking Advance Dining Reservations, researching rides and height requirements, and securing Lightning Lanes ahead of time, depending on their travel goals.” – Allison F. How Your Travel Party Affects Disney Vacation Planning Who you’re traveling with has a big impact on how you plan your Disney vacation. First-time visitors may want a simpler itinerary, while families with kids often prioritize convenience, flexibility, and downtime. Adults-only trips may focus more on dining, festivals, and slower-paced experiences. There’s no one-size-fits-all Disney vacation. Let the needs, interests, and energy levels of your travel party guide your planning decisions. planDisney Pro Tip “My best tip for traveling with tweens and/or teens is to get them involved in the trip planning. Even if it’s something small, like asking what attraction is a must-do or which treat is a must-try, by including them in the process, they will be more invested in the trip. I have done this with my daughters and it has led to such magical memories.” – David Q. For more help making your Disney vacation planning easier, we’re here for you! 8. Your Magic Kingdom day might look a little different soon. Magic Kingdom Disney has some upcoming schedule tweaks planned for a few popular Magic Kingdom shows, and it’s the kind of update that’s easy to overlook if you’re not checking the app regularly. Before your next visit, here’s what you’ll want to keep in mind so you’re not caught off guard! If you’re planning a trip to Magic Kingdom soon, there are a few important entertainment changes you’ll want on your radar. As work begins on Cinderella Castle’s exterior repainting restoring the classic color scheme and marking the end of the “rose gold” look from the 50th anniversary, Disney is adjusting the schedules for several of its most popular shows so that refurbishment crews can work in the mornings without disrupting performances. ©Disney One of the biggest changes affects Mickey’s Magical Friendship Faire, the beloved castle stage show featuring Mickey, Minnie, and a host of Disney characters. Beginning January 28th, this performance will move to an afternoon-only schedule, with four daily shows at approximately 1:00 PM, 2:05 PM, 4:00 PM, and 5:15 PM. Morning performances are being removed entirely, and total daily performances will be reduced by one. Mickey’s Magical Friendship Faire show Another classic show that’s seeing a shift is Let the Magic Begin, the morning welcome ceremony that traditionally kicks off the park day with Mickey and friends on Main Street, U.S.A. As part of the castle work, this show will no longer appear on the daily schedule starting on January 28th, which gives visitors an opportunity to plan something else, like a PhotoPass stop, or a quick stop in for a coffee as the very start of their day at Magic Kingdom. Let the Magic Begin! Finally, the nighttime spectacular Happily Ever After, the fan-favorite fireworks, projection, and music show at Cinderella Castle, will continue nightly, but Disney notes that there may be minor adjustments to the presentation during the repainting project due to how the castle’s scrim and scaffolding affect projection surfaces. Happily Ever After All of these updates are reflected in the official Magic Kingdom entertainment calendar and are expected to stay in place throughout the castle refurbishment period, so be sure to double-check showtimes in the My Disney Experience app as you plan your visit. We’ll continue to keep you posted about any further changes we spot and the progress being made on Cinderella Castle’s updated look as it happens in real time. There will also be earlier access to bin space, enhanced snacks, and complimentary premium beverages. ©Southwest There are also four different fare bundles starting today, including Basic, Choice, Choice Preferred, and Choice Extra, each with different perks for assigned seats, boarding groups, checked bags, and refundable value. ©Southwest Airlines Choice Extra still receives two free bags when flying on Southwest, but on May 28th, 2025, the airline stopped offering them to all passengers. The first bag costs $35, and the second piece costs $45, if they are within the standard size and weight limits. Southwest Airlines at John Wayne International Airport Another change starting is “the airline will require passengers who ‘encroach upon the neighboring seat’ to proactively purchase an additional ticket, which might not be refunded.” Previously, passengers who needed two seats could pay for the extra seat in advance and later receive a refund, or request an extra seat at the airport for no extra charge. Now, passengers will be required to purchase seats in advance, and they will not be refunded “unless the flight departs with at least one open seat and both seats are purchased within the same fare class.” ©Southwest Airlines What do you think about these new changes? 10. Disney just shared a first look at the NEW menu coming to Harambe Market in Disney’s Animal Kingdom! This quick-service dining location closed on October 20th, 2025, for refurbishment and is currently scheduled to reopen on March 1st. Harambe Market Ahead of its reopening, Disney just shared some details about the menu. Prior to closing, Harambe Market’s menu offered a variety of rice bowls, pitas, Caesar salads, and other snacks and beverages. Disney just shared a look at six of the menu items that will be available at Harambe Market. We don’t know for sure yet if this is everything you will be able to get or the exact prices for these items, as Disney hasn’t released the full official menu yet. However, we are still excited to see some of the offerings! You can grab a Bacon Cheeseburger. ©Disney There will also be Chicken Strips available. ©Disney If you are looking for something lighter, you can grab a Harambe Salad, which is a salad of mixed greens, lentils, carrots, and couscous. ©Disney The Harissa Chicken Wrap will also be available (you can currently grab it at Kusafiri Coffee Shop & Bakery). It looks like it will be served with fries instead of the chips like at Kusafiri. ©Disney There will also be a Congo Cookie. ©Disney Plus, you can grab a Harambe Sunrise. ©Disney We will keep you updated as Disney releases more information about the offerings at Harambe Market. Of course, we will also be there when it reopens to check out the dining location. We are always on the lookout for the latest Disney World news, so stay tuned for more! 11. I sacrificed my feet for science…and real-world Disney experience. What shoes do you wear in the parks? If you’re trying to decide between Brooks and HOKA shoes for your next Disney World trip, you’ve found the right Disney World reporter, who’s been there, done that, and lived to tell the tale. I’ve tested multiple versions of popular shoe brands during my days at Disney World in search of a clear winner. While you might be thinking, “Both brands should have held up well, duh!” I’m most invested in breaking down exactly what “well” means for your feet and how that might affect your upcoming trip. DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission. Let’s be honest, if there’s one thing that can make or break your Disney World vacation, it’s your shoes. All those steps running around Disney World from rope drop to fireworks? Yeah, your feet feel every single one! After testing some of the most popular shoe brands and models on real Disney park days, I’m spilling the honest, unfiltered verdict: which ones stood up to miles of pavement, Florida heat, and endless walking. Time to tackle Disney World! But before I do a full deep-dive investigation to show you the data-driven results, we’ve got to talk about the lineup we’re working with here. The HOKA Clifton 10 offered a plush cushioning and cloud-like feel, while the Brooks Ghost 17 brought their A-game with structured support and a soft ride, and the HOKA Rincon 4 were lightweight and breathable, but less cushiony. Now let’s talk real-world park performance! HOKA Rincon 4 — Lightweight But Limited Cushioning The HOKA Rincon 4 is unbelievably light and breathable, which honestly felt great early in the day, but after several hours of walking and standing on hard pavement, it started to feel a bit less protective than the other two options. We love the spring of HOKA These were nice for short strolls and casual days, but if you’re doing marathon park days (hello Magic Kingdom and EPCOT combo days), they lacked the same level of cushioning that the Clifton 10 and Ghost 17 delivered. Their minimal feel can be a perk for runners or people who love a super light shoe, but for theme park endurance? They just didn’t hold up as well. HOKA Rincon 4 Womens Shoes These shoes are the best “fit” for anyone headed out for lighter walking days, shorter vacations, or people who prefer a very light shoe with moderate cushioning. View on Amazon Brooks Ghost 17 — The All-Around Contender The Brooks Ghost 17 felt like the best all-around, balanced sneaker of the bunch. Unlike the cloud-soft HOKAs, the Ghosts strike a middle ground that’s equal parts supportive and cushioned, without feeling overly squishy or unstable. Brooks Ghost 17 It’s easy to see why they’re a crowd favorite due to their supportive stride, which ended up being ideal for long days without fatigue. They also offered a comfortable midsole that molds to your foot, a structured feel without stiffness, and breathability (especially in warmer weather!) Brooks Ghost 17s The Ghost 17 quickly feels like shoes you’ve owned for ages after a short break-in, and they’re supportive enough to tackle hours of walking without doubt. These are the best “fit” for those wanting support and comfort that feels natural without going too plush — especially great if your feet are sensitive but you still want durability. View on Amazon HOKA Clifton 10 — The All-Day Comfort Champion The HOKA Clifton 10 was the standout star of this group. From the first step, they felt like walking on clouds with soft, responsive cushioning that takes the pounding out of miles on cement sidewalks. These shoes excel at shock absorption, which is a complete game-changer after 8 to 10 hours of walking and waiting in lines. HOKA Clifton 10 Their ultra-plush cushioning made long hours feel noticeably easier, their wide toe box kept my toes from feeling cramped all day, they worked great for high arches (if that’s you, trust me — you’ll notice), and there wasn’t any rubbing or ankle irritation after hours, all of which factored into why they worked so well for Disney World. Hokas You might even find that if you’re typically someone who avoids sneakers, you’ll still be smiling by the end of the day in these, and that never happens with most shoes! These shoes are going to be the best “fit” for anyone who prioritizes comfort above all else, especially if you’re walking 10+ miles per day or have sensitivity in your feet or knees. View on Amazon Final Verdict: Which Shoe Should You Pack? If we had to choose one for a full Disney World trip? Hands down, the HOKA Clifton 10 earns the crown for all-day park comfort. That plush cushioning truly made miles feel easier and reduced foot fatigue in a way the others couldn’t quite match. Here’s a closer peek But listen, the Brooks Ghost 17 was so close in comfort and support that we’d happily wear them again depending on how we were packing for the trip. They’re a fantastic second choice and might even edge ahead for people who prefer structured support over ultra-plush cushioning. Brooks Ghost 17 It’s also good to keep in mind a few tips before you’re ready to head out for your next Disney World trip with brand new shoes you’re so excited to try out! Don’t forget to wear in your shoes before the trip– even great shoes benefit from a few walks at home. If you’re prone to hot spots or blisters, consider packing moleskin or blister pads in your park bag, and comfortable shoes makes everything more enjoyable and keep your mind focused on making memories rather than writhing in pain your whole vacation. 14. We’ve been exploring Epic Universe at Universal Orlando bit by bit ever since it opened last year, but there’s still so much to explore! Mead Hall We were recently strolling through How To Train Your Dragon — Isle of Berk and noticed a new dessert on the menu over at Mead Hall. And, since we’re Disney FOOD Blog, after all, you know we had to try it! Come with us to check out the new Gronckle’s Bread Pudding. We stopped by Mead Hall to grab Gronckle’s Bread Pudding for $7.99. It’s a malted cinnamon bread pudding with a Yak Nog anglaise, chocolate Pop Rocks, and vanilla ice cream. This is such a fun dessert and was especially good coming from a quick service restaurant! Gronckle’s Bread Pudding It’s super moist and has great flavor — the pudding is nice and crispy on top, but quite soft on the inside and nice and warm, too. There’s a HUGE scoop of vanilla ice cream on top, which we really loved because it made this dessert more shareable. The Yak Nog glaze is sweet with notes of cinnamon and vanilla, and it does make the overall dessert quite sweet, considering there was basically a pool of it — but hey, it’s dessert. Lots of gooey cake The chocolate Pop Rocks were a fun addition, and they do fizzle in your mouth like you’d expect. They weren’t extremely chocolatey, but they did add a nice crunch that added a nice textural element to the dessert. The little green flag isn’t edible — it’s made of plastic, so keep that in mind! We won’t be forgetting this anytime soon We love trying new snacks from Epic Universe and beyond, and we’ll be on the lookout for even more to review! 15. The Center for Food as Medicine & Longevity recently published its 2026 Airline Water Study, and the results might shock you. Air travel The study reveals that the quality of drinking water varies significantly by airline, and that many airlines continue to provide passengers with potentially unhealthy water. So, which airlines are the healthiest — and unhealthiest? The federal government implemented the Aircraft Drinking Water Rule (ADWR) in 2011, and it requires airlines to provide passengers and flight crew with safe drinking water. The 2026 Airline Water Study ranked 10 major and 11 regional airlines based on the quality of water they provided onboard flights during a three-year study period (October 1, 2022, through September 30, 2025). Southwest Airlines Each airline was given a “Water Safety Score” based on five weighted criteria, including violations per aircraft, Maximum Contaminant Level violations for E. coli, indicator-positive rates, public notices, and disinfecting and flushing frequency (5.00 = highest rating, 0.00 = lowest rating). A score of 3.5 or better means the airline has relatively safe, clean water and earns a Grade A or B. Be considerate! American Airlines and JetBlue have the worst scores of the major airlines, with 1.75 (D) and 1.80 (D), respectively. Delta Air Lines and Frontier Airlines scored the highest, with 5.0 (A) and 4.8 (A), respectively. American Airlines You can check out the full results of the study below to see how your favorite airline stacks up: Major Airlines Delta Air Lines: 5.00 (Grade A) Frontier Airlines: 4.80 (Grade A) Alaska Airlines: 3.85 (Grade B) Allegiant Air: 3.65 (Grade B) Southwest Airlines: 3.30 (Grade C) Hawaiian Airlines: 3.15 (Grade C) United Airlines: 2.70 (Grade C) Spirit Airlines: 2.05 (Grade D) JetBlue: 1.80 (Grade D) American Airlines: 1.75 (Grade D) Allegiant at Sanford Airport Regional Airlines GoJet Airlines: 3.85 (Grade B) Piedmont Airlines: 3.05 (Grade C) Sun Country Airlines: 3.00 (Grade C) Endeavor Air: 2.95 (Grade C) SkyWest Airlines: 2.40 (Grade D) Envoy Air: 2.30 (Grade D) PSA Airlines: 2.25 (Grade D) Air Wisconsin Airlines: 2.15 (Grade D) Republic Airways: 2.05 (Grade D) CommuteAir: 1.60 (Grade D) Mesa Airlines: 1.35 (Grade F) Expect delays Aircraft fly to numerous destinations and may pump drinking water into their tanks from various sources at domestic and international locations. The water quality onboard airplanes also depends on the safety of the equipment used to transfer the water, such as water cabinets, trucks, carts, and hoses. The Center for Food as Medicine & Longevity recommends the following to be extra safe when flying: NEVER drink any water onboard that isn’t in a sealed bottle. Do not drink coffee or tea on board. Do not wash your hands in the bathroom; use alcohol-based hand sanitizer containing at least 60% alcohol instead. 16. When it comes to dining at Disney World, you’ve got a TON of options. No matter what size meal you’re looking for, what type of palate you have, or what you’re in the mood for, there’s pretty much something for everyone! Our full spread from Abracadabar We recently stopped by AbracadaBar at Disney’s BoardWalk to see what you can grab during your visit, and now we’re bringing you our FULL review. Is it worth a stop on your upcoming trip? Let’s find out together! Atmosphere This small, intimate cocktail lounge is located between Flying Fish and Trattoria al Forno (almost directly across from Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs), and it’s like stepping back in time to the golden age of magic. AbracadaBar According to the Disney BoardWalk lore, prestidigitators would gather here after nearly every magic show, often staying up all night as they attempted to outdo one another with incredible tricks before gathering at the bar to create new magical cocktails audiences would love. AbracadaBar The details in this lounge are truly not to be missed, and we encourage you to REALLY look around and check it all out as you dine. Everywhere you look, you’ll spot something you never noticed before — we’ve been going for years, and it happens to us nearly every time. AbracadaBar But enough about the lounge’s looks — what’s on the menu here? Menu While the menu here is mostly made up of various cocktails, you’ll also find a few Bar Snacks on the menu as well. While the lounge itself is open from 4 PM to 12 AM most nights, the Bar Snacks are only served from 5-10 PM. Menu Not a big cocktail person, but still want a drink? No worries, you’ll also find Featured Wines, Beer Selections, and more. You’ll even find a zero-proof cocktail and a mocktail on the menu! Back of the Menu And now, onto the main event — the review! Eats First up, we grabbed the Báhn Mì Sliders for $14. This is made with Pork Belly, Marinated Cucumber, and Sriracha Aïoli. These are rich, with delicious, perfectly cooked pork belly mixed with lightly pickled cucumbers and fresh carrot shreds. The buns are toasted, which adds a crunchy texture we adored. The aioli is lightly spiced, which rounds out the dish. While we do feel they’re beyond delicious and packed with flavor, they are a bit on the small side, so we can understand if some people feel they’re a little too expensive. We think they’re worth it, but we can understand not everyone feeling the same way! Báhn Mì Sliders We also grabbed the Lump Crab Fries for $17, which are made with Wasabi Aïoli, Doenjang, and Tobiko. Lump Crab Fries The fries themselves are not only cooked perfectly and seasoned beautifully, but they’re LOADED down with sweet, fresh crab, making this overall a very craveable dish. The crab does have light seasoning, giving each bite a slightly oceanic aftertaste with a creamy finish. The aioli on top is supposed to contain wasabi, but we didn’t taste any in ours. We would have liked to taste it a little more, as we feel the spice would have balanced out the richness and sweetness of the crab. However, the serving size here is easily enough to split between three people, making it well worth the cost if you’re sharing. Drinks To drink, we picked up the Espresso Martini for $17.50. This is made with Grainger’s Deluxe Organic Vanilla Vodka, Tia Maria Cold Brew Coffee Liqueur, Bols Crème de Cacao White Liqueur, and Espresso. This drink came highly recommended to us by our server, and they weren’t wrong! It’s a coffee lover’s dream with its coffee-forward flavor and creamy texture, as well as a vanilla undertone that balances the flavor and makes for a smooth finish. If you need a little caffeine jolt with your drink, this is the way to go. Espresso Martini We also tried Pepper’s Ghost for $17.50, which is made with SKYY Pineapple Vodka, Habanero, and Lime. This was very pineapple-forward with a spicy pepper finish from the habanero. Pepper’s Ghost This has a pleasant burn, and then pineapple is balanced at the back end by the lime juice. It’s sweet, but not overly so, with a burn on the backend we enjoyed, IF you know you’ll like drinks like this. If you’re not a fan of spice or burn, it may not be the right fit for you. Nosh or Not This Disney World restaurant is a must-visit if… You’re looking for a great drink or quick bite at Disney’s BoardWalk You want a spot that’s open late into the night You don’t want a bar with a time limit You should skip this Disney World spot if… You’re looking for a menu with multiple zero-proof or non-alcoholic options You’re looking for a menu with more than just three dining options You want a dining spot that isn’t on the smaller side Overall We love visiting this spot, and think it’s one of the most uniquely themed lounges in all of Disney World! It’s a great stop for those looking for a late-night drink or some delicious eats that you can share with friends or keep all to yourself. Any time we’re nearby and we have time, we love stopping in! 18. Character dining is one of those unique experiences that Disney fans simply love, so could Disney World be getting more soon? Mirabel at 1900 Park Fare Where else can you hug Mickey, snap photos with princesses, or exchange laughs with Winnie the Pooh, all without waiting in a standby line, while enjoying a meal? For many guests, character dining is a must-do, whether it’s a first visit or a tradition they book trip after trip. And with HUGE changes and expansions officially on the way to Disney World’s parks, it has us asking a big question: could these new lands and restaurants mean more character dining experiences in the future? Let’s take a closer look at what’s been announced and where our favorite characters might end up. Disney’s Animal Kingdom: Pueblo Esperanza Over at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Pueblo Esperanza is already well under construction with a completion date in 2027. While we don’t yet have full details about the new restaurant planned for Pueblo Esperanza in the Tropical Americas expansion, we do know it will include a massive hacienda-style quick-service restaurant, which is likely taking over where Restaurantaurus stood. Disney has already confirmed this will be one of the largest quick-service dining locations in all of Disney World when it opens. La Hacienda As exciting as that sounds, character dining at a quick-service location is highly unlikely. Character meals typically require longer seating times, structured schedules, and higher price points, which are all things that don’t mesh well with quick service dining. While we’d love to be surprised, for now it seems more realistic that this expansion will focus on immersive theming and food rather than adding a new character dining experience. We can’t wait to get more details about this land and to see what food will be offered. Some of the very best food in Disney World resides in Animal Kingdom, so we have high expectations. ©Disney || Tropical Americas Land coming to Animal Kingdom Magic Kingdom: Villains Land & Piston Peak Magic Kingdom is the park most guests associate with classic character interactions, which is why the idea of a Villains Land has Disney fans excited at the possibilities, especially when it comes to dining. A villains-themed character meal feels like a perfect fit here, with the potential for appearances from Maleficent, Cruella de Vil, or even lesser-seen villains who don’t often get dedicated meet-and-greet opportunities. Right now, the closest experience we have is the Evil Queen at Story Book Dining at Artist Point over at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge. While Disney has confirmed that Villains Land will include restaurants, no specific dining concepts have been announced yet, leaving plenty of room for speculation. Disney hasn’t shared many specifics on this land, so dining is still very much in the air. Villains Land ©Disney Meanwhile, over in Piston Peak, expectations for character dining are a bit more grounded. This Cars-themed area is expected to lean heavily into attractions and atmosphere, and while nothing has been officially shared about restaurants in this land, it’s hard to imagine a traditional character dining experience here. As fun as it would be, Lightning McQueen driving from table to table just doesn’t seem particularly practical. While themed dining is certainly possible, a full-fledged character meal in Piston Peak appears unlikely based on what we know so far. Cars Area Concept Art ©Disney Disney’s Hollywood Studios: Monstropolis Over at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, the planned Monstropolis expansion could offer one of the most intriguing opportunities for character dining. Based on the concept art released so far, the land appears to include Harryhausen’s, the iconic sushi restaurant from Monsters, Inc. That built-in familiarity makes it a strong candidate for a more immersive dining experience. ©Disney If Disney chooses to lean into that potential, it’s easy to imagine a character dining setup featuring Mike and Sulley stopping by tables and maybe even a surprise appearance from Boo. While nothing has been officially confirmed, this is one expansion where character dining feels not just possible, but plausible. We could also potentially see animatronics here, kind of like we’ve seen at Oga’s Cantina. Hi, Sully! While nothing has been officially confirmed just yet, these upcoming park expansions open the door to some exciting possibilities for character dining at Disney World. Whether it’s villains lurking over dinner, monsters popping by your table, we’ll be watching closely. 20. If you can only go to ONE Disney World restaurant in 2026…here’s the cheat code. Breakfast at Boma Some Disney meals are good…and then there are the ones that become core memories. Disney World has no shortage of great restaurants with exceptional eats, but ff you could only choose one restaurant to experience in 2026, there are a few that instantly come to mind capable of delivering unforgettable flavors, immersive theming, and that “wow” feeling that makes Disney dining so special. Not all Disney meals are created equally — and that’s a good thing! And seeing as how we’ve eaten our fair share of every restaurant Disney World has to offer across its theme parks, hotels, and shopping district, we KNOW good Disney food when we taste it! Cinderella’s Royal Table Some Disney restaurants are perfect for kids, some shine on romantic nights, and some are just unbeatable for atmosphere and food. So instead of forcing one “best” pick, we’re sharing the single top restaurant in each category, from solo dining and families to character meals, value picks, and the ultimate overall Disney dining experience for 2026. Here’s where you need to be eating next! Best Disney World Quick Service Restaurant Satu’li Canteen (Disney’s Animal Kingdom) Satu’li Canteen is proof that quick service at Disney World doesn’t have to mean boring burgers and fries. The customizable bowls are fresh, filling, and actually taste good, and it’s one of the few quick-service spots that feels like a real meal instead of theme park food. It’s my go-to recommendation when people want something fast and satisfying. Tropical Pandoran Forest Fruits However, it’s worth noting a few honorable mentions that we’re quite fond of, too! Columbia Harbour House in Magic Kingdom not only has stellar seafood options but also features a quiet upstairs seating area, making this one an underrated gem. And, Casey’s Corner, also at Magic Kingdom, can’t seem to steer you wrong either with its classic hot dogs, nostalgic vibes, and prime parade and fireworks seating. Best Disney World Restaurant for Solo Dining Nomad Lounge (Disney’s Animal Kingdom) Nomad Lounge is hands-down my favorite spot for solo dining at Disney World. The relaxed, upscale-but-not-stuffy vibe makes it perfect for enjoying a cocktail and small plates without feeling awkward dining alone, AND the food is actually incredible! It’s walk-up friendly most of the time, which makes it an easy win if you’re having a flexible park day or just want a quiet break from the chaos. Meal at Nomad Lounge But again, as quick as we are to crown a reigning champ, we don’t think you should count out a few other favorites in this category either. California Grill at Disney’s Contemporary Resort is fantastic if you want a splurge-y solo dinner with fireworks views and elite eats. While Steakhouse 71 Lounge, also at Disney’s Contemporary Resort, scores major points for its great bar seating, solid food, and the fact that it’s WAY easier to snag than the main dining room! Best Disney World Restaurants for Families 50’s Prime Time Cafe (Disney’s Hollywood Studios) If your family loves interactive dining and comfort food, 50’s Prime Time Cafe is an absolute blast! Between the “aunt and uncle” servers, the retro kitchen vibes, and crowd-pleasing dishes like fried chicken and meatloaf, this one hits the sweet spot of fun and filling. It’s one of those meals kids actually remember, and parents secretly love just as much. A Sampling of Mom’s Favorite Recipes Not so fast, though! There are a few other honorable mentions in the category that deserve their flowers, too! Over at Whispering Canyon Cafe, found in Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, you’ll dine amongst a dining room that’s loud, silly, chaotic in the best way, and fits the bill perfectly for high-energy families who love some hearty eats with hefty portions. Biergarten over in the Germany Pavilion at EPCOT offers up a great buffet variety and live music that’s earned a special place in our hearts, especially because it’s fun for families with older kids. Best Disney World Restaurant for Date Night / Adults Only Narcoossee’s (Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort) Narcoossee’s is that girl when it comes to romantic Disney World dining. Waterfront views, soft lighting, seafood-forward menus, and the option to time your dinner with Magic Kingdom’s nightly fireworks make this one feel genuinely special. It’s ideal for anniversaries, honeymoons, or just a “we deserve this” splurge night. Narcoossee’s But there are a few others we wouldn’t mind sending you to that are equally exceptional! Narcoosse’s neighboring restaurant, Citricos, also found at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort, radiates elegant, modern sophistication and will quickly rise in your ranks as a foodie favorite with gorgeous presentation. Then there’s The Boathouse at Disney Springs, which features a more casual-romantic setting but with amazing food and a fun waterfront atmosphere. Best Disney World Character Meal Cape May Cafe (Breakfast, Disney’s Beach Club Resort) Breakfast at Cape May Cafe is the perfect combo of great food and low-stress character interactions. Minnie, Daisy, Goofy, and Donald rotate through without feeling rushed, and the buffet is way better than most character meals (hello, Mickey waffles and pastries!) It’s also not inside a park, which makes it easier to book and ideal for a non-park morning. Mickey AND Minnie Waffles But what if you’re looking for even MORE character dining options? Look no further than the Crystal Palace at Magic Kingdom, where this restaurant combines Winnie the Pooh vibes and a classic, beloved buffet selection that’s always a hit with adults and kids alike. Or enjoy a meal at Garden Grill in EPCO,T where you’ll experience a unique rotating restaurant with family-style meals and character visits that come around throughout your dining experience. Best Disney World Restaurants for Price & Value Ale & Compass Restaurant (Disney’s Yacht Club Resort) Ale & Compass is criminally underrated for the quality you get at the price point. The menu feels elevated, portions are solid, and it’s one of the rare table-service restaurants that doesn’t feel like it’s charging you a Disney tax just because it can. It’s also way easier to get a reservation compared to the more hyped spots. Full Spread But you can also get some wonderful menus of food at a few other, less expensive Disney World restaurants. The Fountain at Disney’s Dolphin Hotel serves up old-school diner vibes with reasonable prices and giant sundaes. And at the neighboring Beaches & Cream found at Disney’s Beach Club Resort, you’re treated to fun, nostalgia, and iconic eats — just be ready for small portions and big hype! Best Overall Disney World Dining Experience Boma — Flavors of Africa (Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge) If we’re talking about the best total package (food, atmosphere, consistency, and value), Boma takes the crown. The buffet is packed with unique flavors and comfort classics, the resort vibes are unmatched, and it feels like a true experience instead of just a meal. Whether it’s breakfast or dinner, Boma is one of those places people rave about long after their trip. Breakfast at Boma But, another one we’re hard pressed to pass up an opportunity to visit anytime is California Grill at Disney’s Contemporary Resort. Between its incredible views, upscale dining, and ending a phenomenal meal with an unbeatable fireworks viewing area is the cherry on top for anyone wanting something more formal. So there you have it — there’s a reason why we keep coming back to a few of our all-time favorites that just seem to continuously knock it out of the park every visit. 22. Believe it or not, it CAN get cold at Disney World! While it doesn’t happen very often, it can catch you by surprise if you’re not expecting it. Frozen Ever After This Florida native happens to LOVE cold days at Disney World, and with another cold snap on the way, what better time to talk about things that you should only do at the Most Magical Place on Earth when it’s chilly out?! If you’re heading to Disney World this week or anytime when the temperatures drop, make sure you check out these can’t-miss snacks and activities! Okay, okay, it might not be “cold” at Disney World compared to other places in the world, but it can catch you off guard, and you don’t want to be chilly while you’re trying to enjoy yourself! These are some of our team’s favorite things to do when the temperatures drop at Disney World. Yes, soup for you Disney World restaurants are home to some of the best soups we’ve ever had, but it’s hard to want to eat soup when it feels like it’s 100 degrees out. Chilly weather means it’s a great time to get some soup — and we have a few favorites, starting with the Lobster Bisque in a bread bowl from Les Halles Boulangerie et Patisserie. Lobster Bisque Another iconic Disney World soup is the Canadian Cheddar Cheese Soup from Le Cellier in the Canada Pavilion. This rich and creamy soup features bacon, beer, and LOTS of cheese. You can also find it at the EPCOT Food & Wine Festival, but if you ask us, it’s usually too hot to be eating soup outside! Canadian Cheddar Cheese Soup Boma at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge is home to a wide array of soups, and each one is truly delicious and unique. Venture off the beaten path and book a reservation at this buffet restaurant for some stellar eats you won’t find anywhere else. ALL these soups! We also love the Grilled Cheese and Tomato Soup from Woody’s Lunchbox at Hollywood Studios! Hot drinks galore If you’re an iced coffee aficionado, consider forgoing your typical drink for a hot coffee instead! It’ll keep your hands warm while you make your way throughout the park. I’m partial to Joffrey’s, but there are several Starbucks locations around the Disney World parks and hotels as well. Joffrey’s latte You can also find hot chocolate at Joffrey’s and Starbucks, along with other places around Disney World, but for an extra special treat, we love the rich Hot Cocoa from Ghirardelli at Disney Springs! Take in some shows If you’re looking to get out of the cold, this weather is a great opportunity to check out some shows and other indoor attractions you might normally skip! Consider stopping by Mickey’s PhilharMagic at Magic Kingdom or even the Hall of Presidents. My personal favorite is the Carousel of Progress! Carousel of Progress Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After is a relatively new show at Hollywood Studios that we’ve loved, and over at Animal Kingdom, you can check out Finding Nemo: The Big Blue… and Beyond! Drink around the world Sure, you can drink around the world at EPCOT even when it’s not cold outside, but heavy drinking in the heat can lead to a disaster if you’re not careful. Instead, consider drinking around the world when it’s a bit on the chilly side so you don’t run the risk of getting sick! Violet Sake Just make sure you stay hydrated with plenty of water, too, since the alcohol will still affect you. It might seem like you don’t need to drink as much water when it’s cold out, but if you’re drinking alcohol, that rule still applies! Finally wear those Spirit Jerseys It seems like Disney releases a new Spirit Jersey every other day, and while we love the fun designs, we don’t love that we can hardly wear them to the parks without sweating our butts off. But when it gets cold outside, the Spirit Jerseys can come out and play! ©Disney These long-sleeved shirts are slightly thicker than a regular t-shirt fabric, making them a bit heavier than something we’d want to wear on a warm day. In the cold, though, they make a perfect outfit with some leggings or jeans and sneakers! Time for s’mores Did you know that most Disney World hotels offer campfires and s’mores for hotel guests on select nights? We don’t know about you, but sitting by a campfire when it’s hot outside is not our favorite thing in the world — no matter how much we like s’mores! Campfire Sign When it gets chilly, consider sticking close to your Disney World hotel and checking out the campfires! Enjoy your hotel Speaking of Disney World hotels, consider planning a rest day and enjoying activities at your hotel instead of the parks! To find out what’s happening at your Disney Resort Hotel, stop by the front desk for the monthly Recreation Activities Schedule. Enjoy games and crafts for a few hours or even enjoy the hot tub if you’re at a Deluxe Resort. Community Hall at Old Key West If you are staying at select Disney Vacation Club Resorts (Old Key West, Animal Kingdom Villas, BoardWalk Villas, Saratoga Springs, or Bay Lake Tower at the Contemporary), stop by the Community Hall. This is where you can find an array of activities, including Wii, table games, DVD and sports equipment rentals, books, and kid-friendly crafts. The majority of things to do are free, but there may be a nominal charge for certain art projects. Don’t worry about long standby lines No Lightning Lane? No problem — at least when it’s cold outside! We don’t know about you, but something about standing in that long line for Slinky Dog Dash in the heat just makes us want to crawl inside a damp, dark hole, but in cooler weather? We’ll wait all day! When the temperatures drop, consider waiting in lines that you might have overlooked due to them being outside or in the sun. Queue for Slinky Dog Dash When it gets cold at Disney World, evening temperatures will be quite chilly, and you will want a jacket if you plan to stay for the nighttime show or get a last ride in as the park closes. Also, be prepared for cool temperatures in the morning (and even throughout the whole day some days!). If you are headed to Disney World soon, make sure you are prepared for the cooler weather! Bring a jacket, and we also recommend packing layers for days when it gets warmer in the afternoons. That way, you can take a layer or two off to stay comfortable, then add them back as the sun goes down and temperatures begin to drop again. Cinderella Castle We’ll be on the lookout for additional weather updates and more you need to know about from Disney World. 25. Disney World can feel like one giant construction project right now, but we know that with construction, big things are on the horizon. ©Disney || Tropical Americas Land coming to Animal Kingdom In 2026, Disney World is undergoing massive construction projects in three out of the four theme parks. We have been keeping a close eye on everything that is happening so we can bring you the most important updates. Here is everything you need to know about the latest updates for each of these projects around Disney World. Magic Kingdom Magic Kingdom has one of the largest expansions underway! Currently, both Villains Land and Piston Peak, the Cars-themed land, are under construction, and these new photos from @bioreconstruct on X show exactly how large the project is! @bioreconstruct on X In the photo below, you can see the land cleared for what will be Villains Land, as well as the construction staging for the projects. @bioreconstruct on X Piston Peak is well underway, taking over the area that once was Tom Sawyer Island and Rivers of America. To the right of Big Thunder Mountain, you can see the land being cleared with several construction vehicles. You can also see a better view of the land cleared beyond Big Thunder Mountain and even land behind the show buildings for both Haunted Mansion and “it’s a small world.” @bioreconstruct on X Disney’s Animal Kingdom Over at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, @bioreconstruct on X shows the status of Pueblo Esperanza. This is the Tropical Americas area that will hold stories and attractions from Encanto and Indiana Jones. This area is where DinoLand U.S.A was, and now, the only remaining parts of that land are Dinosaur and Restaurantosaurus, which will close in February. @bioreconstruct on X The steel structure below is the new Encanto ride, where guests will be able to go inside the magical casita from the film. The land is set to open sometime in 2027. @bioreconstruct on X Disney’s Hollywood Studios Over at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, there are two projects currently happening. The first is that Animation Courtyard is becoming The Magic of Disney Animation. The buildings in this area are being repurposed for new attractions. The building that currently houses Star Wars: Launch Bay will be turned into“The Magic of Disney Animation,” which is inspired by Walt Disney Animation Studios and the Roy E. Disney Animation Building. The Walt Disney Studios and The Magic of Disney Animation will open in the latter part of Summer 2026! @bioreconstruct on X Monstropolis is also underconstruction where the Muppets area once stood. We can see that they have currently cleared out the courtyard area between what was PizzeRizzo and MuppetVision 3D. @bioreconstruct on X One attraction that has many Disney fans excited is the new coaster coming to the Monsters Inc. themed land. Disney is working on concrete right now, but you can also see where concrete forms are on top of the floor. Earlier sections and conduits are being buried in sand, hence the color difference you can see below. The size of this building is massive, and we can’t wait until it goes vertical! @bioreconstruct on X As construction continues all over Disney World in 2026, we will keep an eye out and bring you any updates.
