HUGE news was announced today about a new smoking policy in the Disney Parks beginning very soon. Smoking Policies are changing at Disney World… According to the Disney Parks Blog: …beginning May 1, smoking areas will no longer be present inside Walt Disney World or Disneyland theme parks, water parks, ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex or Downtown Disney in California. But if you’re a smoker visiting the Disney Parks, note that the entire properties aren’t undergoing a no smoking policy. Smoking areas will be provided outside the main entrances of the theme parks, and if you’re staying or visiting Disney’s resort hotels, there will still be smoking areas provided for your convenience. The policy begins May 1st, and note that it applies to both Disney World and Disneyland as well as water parks, ESPN WWoS, and Downtown Disney in California. It’s that time of year when many families are eagerly counting down the days to their next Disney vacation. With so many exciting new offerings coming to Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort in 2019 and beyond, there is so much to look forward to as you plan your next visit. When planning, be sure to take a moment to look at the rules for each destination, which are easily available on DisneyWorld.com/Rules and Disneyland.com/Rules. These pages are an excellent planning resource and provide detail on a variety of policies for the parks, Disney Resort hotels and beyond. While you may be familiar with the rules, please read them in advance of your next visit, as Walt Disney World and Disneyland make updates from time to time and are implementing some changes, including the removal of smoking areas within parks and the adjustment of park policies related to stroller size, stroller wagons and loose ice. Here are a few tips to help ensure a smooth arrival during your next visit. STROLLERS Families with little ones know strollers are an important part of a vacation. It’s the napping zone, the storage place, and the spot for tired legs to rest while experiencing the magic. Beginning May 1, we are adjusting our guidelines on stroller sizes, which will require them to be no larger than 31″ (79cm) wide and 52″ (132cm) long. The good news – many strollers on the market, including many double jogging strollers, fit within these size guidelines. Also, just a reminder that wagons are not permitted in our parks. Beginning May 1, stroller wagons will also no longer be permitted. These updates are designed to help guest flow and ease congestion, making the parks more enjoyable for everyone. TIP: The smaller your stroller, the easier it is to navigate and maneuver the parks. “My number one go-to is renting a stroller from Disney,” explains Disney Parks Moms Panelist Tabitha. “At Walt Disney World Resort, you can rent a single or double stroller once you arrive, and they can be rented each day or you can choose a Length of Stay Rental.” While Walt Disney World already offers a double stroller rental, Disneyland Resort will soon offer one too! SMOKING Also beginning May 1, smoking areas will no longer be present inside Walt Disney World or Disneyland theme parks, water parks, ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex or Downtown Disney in California. TIP: Designated smoking areas will be available outside the entrances of the areas listed above and at Disney Springs in Florida. For guests who have room or dining reservations, smoking areas are also available at Disney Resort hotels. LOOSE ICE Beginning today, if you plan to bring a cooler or cooler bag to store snacks and drinks for theme park or water park adventures, it’s important to know that loose or dry ice are no longer permitted in our parks. TIP: We recommend you keep your items frosty with re-useable ice packs instead. “You can visit any Quick-Service location for complimentary cups of ice for your cooler (you can also request complimentary cups of ice water to stay hydrated!),” recommends Disney Parks Moms Panelist Linda. For additional information about these updates, visit our FAQs at DisneyWorld.com/RulesFAQ and Disneyland.com/RulesFAQ. For more tips or to ask questions about planning your upcoming Disney vacation, be sure to visit DisneyParksMomsPanel.com for a personalized response from one of our panelists. View the full article

It’s currently one of my favorite times to visit the Disneyland Resort. ¿Por qué? Happening now through April 23 is Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival! Join us as we celebrate the rich flavors and diverse tastes of California cuisine, which includes many Latin-inspired dishes. Disneyland Resort Chef Jimmy Weita weighed in on a few of his favoritos: BLT Chicharrón Duro with Ranch Crema, LAstyle Marketplace “This is probably my top dish at the festival,” mentioned Chef Jimmy. “I actually stumbled upon [a duro] while on vacation in the southwest and thought it was perfect for our festival. Of course, it’s our spin on a classic duro, complete with ranch crema and smoked bacon.” Anaheim Chile Relleno Bites with Salsa Verde, Golden Dreams Marketplace “Many of our cast members have culinary traditions at home. In fact, one of our talented cooks came up with this delicious concept. Chile Rellenos are a staple in Mexican cooking, but our version is perfectly bite sized—topped with salsa verde and crema!” Cauliflower Ceviche with Chile Corn Crumble and Tortilla Strips, Veggie Veggie Fruit Fruit Marketplace “Also inspired by one of our cooks, this ceviche is so delicious. What makes it unique is that it’s completely vegan! There is still plenty of flavor and texture, you’ll definitely want seconds!” If you are looking for a cool drink to accompany, there are two great options: Cool Lime Michelada with Frozen Lime Ice available at Veggie, Veggie, Fruit, Fruit Marketplace and Jalapeño-Lime Margarita available at Peppers Cali-Ente Marketplace. ¿Tienes hambre? Disney’s latest flash color trend is Dapper Yellow, and it’s making a serious statement in this eye-catching spirit jersey. You know your pals at the DFB love a color trend; we’ve been on board with rose gold (and now Briar Rose Gold… click here for the details!), millennium pink, iridescent, and potion purple. But we gotta confess: we’re a little torn about this one! Dapper Yellow Spirit Jerseys Let’s just start with what we don’t love so much: Dapper Yellow is vibrant! Almost to a fault. Like in some instances it strains the eyes. We feel like we might resemble an egg yolk a little too closely when we wear the spirit jersey. But… Dapper Yellow Spirit Jerseys Where else can you wear a crazy bright color with reckless abandon and not give it a second thought, right? The brightness can surely be a positive, like when you’re separated from your crew, but everyone’s wearing egg yolk yellow so no probs you can find each other in the crowd. Dapper Yellow Spirit Jerseys And then there’s this factor: Mickey Mouse rocks some yellow shoes, and we all know that mouse has style. So while we’re a little concerned this shirt might compete too much with the bright Cali and Florida sun, overall, we’re in. Dapper Yellow Spirit Jerseys We’ll just remember to wear our shades. Find out where to buy your own Dapper Yellow Spirit Jersey here! And subscribe to the DFB Newsletter so we can keep you posted on alllll the flash color trends! What do you think of this flash color trend? Are you in for the Dapper Yellow or no? Let us know with a comment!
