Looking for some holiday escapism? Disney’s Polynesian Resort We’re headed to Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto in Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort to celebrate the season South Seas style. Tucked away on the first floor of Disney’s Polynesian VillageResort, the tiki oasis that is Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto transports visitors to paradise through an incredibly immersive atmosphere and extensive cocktail menu. Entrance into Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto The Tiki bar does a fine job of getting us in the holiday SPIRIT, as proven with the recent release of the Holiday Nutcracker Tiki Mug. We’re headed back to check out their holiday overlay and new seasonal cocktails. Atmosphere The Head Salesman has added some festiveness to the already ornate joint. Trader Sam’s Decor Strands of red garland hang haphazardly from the hatched hut style roof. Trader Sam’s Holiday Decor It’s hot as a Tahitian Torch in here (j/k not really!) but they still can’t escape the snow! Holiday Decor One of our favorite features, the living Krakatoa Volcano, has been given a Snowy overlay! It’s a SNOWCANO! If you’ve visited this bar before you’ve likely seen how these windows come in to play when you order a Krakatoa, which is served glowing hot red due to a glow cube. At Christmastime, they arrive glowing icy blue to match the Snowcano! FUN! Krakatoa Volcano This guy has had TWO SHOTS OF RUM and now he’s feeling Merry and Bright! (Hi, life preserver from the Maelstrom! We see you!) Holiday Decor Drinks In addition to the already stellar cocktail lineup, for the holidays they are offering several specialty libations including the Jingle Jammer, Tropical Snowstorm, and the Mele Kaliki Mai Tai. Holiday Cocktails The Mele Keliki Mai Tai is a Christmas spin on the classic Don The Beachcomber Mai Tai. This boozy delight features Plantation Dark Rum, Bacardi Superior Rum, St. Elizabeth Allspice Dram, Cranberry Juice, Orgeat, Cinnamon, Splash of Fresh Lime Juice, and a Cinnamon Stick. Mele Keliki Mai Tai Let’s just say the rum is VERY pronounced on this one! Luckily, the cinnamon and spice flavoring balances it out well making it a very drinkable option. It is also available for an additional charge with a limited time (and super unique) Holiday Nutcracker Tiki Mug. You can NEVER have too many tiki mugs, are we right??? Nutcracker Tiki Mug Brrrr it’s cold in here! The Tropical Snowstorm blew in with Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Whiskey, Parrot Bay Coconut Rum, Coconut Cream, Cinnamon, Orgeat, and Falernum. Fans of the Tiki Tiki Tiki Tiki Tiki Rum will enjoy this one as it’s very similar but with the addition of good ole fashion Tennessee Whiskey (and it’s oh so smooooothe). The whiskey flavor definitely stands out here! Tropical Snowstorm Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto once again proves to be THE spot to chill out and enjoy some delicious cocktails. If you’re interested in Simply Having A Wonderful Christmas Time, better act fast because these drinks are sure to disappear off the menu soon after St. Nick pops down everyone’s chimneys! And be sure to swing by Magic Kingdom before the holiday season ends to check up on Trader Sam’s proprietor, Trader Sam…er…Samta at the Jingle Cruise! Trader Samta! Digital Tip Board We spotted this digital tip board over in Fantasyland, nearby Enchanted Tales With Belle. These helpful screens are making their way to each land in Magic Kingdom, with each board themed for the land its in! (Unfortunately, the ones we spotted today weren’t on at the time!) Digital Tip Board We love the option of having this hands-free way to check out whether we’re going to ride Space Mountain or Splash Mountain first, and are excited to see if these make their way to the rest of the parks in Disney World! The Magic Kingdom recently took down some of its construction walls – check out the new additions to the park’s entrance here! Have you spotted the digital tip boards in Magic Kingdom yet? We’ve seen Peppermint Margaritas at Disney Springs along with Italian Margaritas and Horchata Margaritas at Epcot’s Festival of the Holidays celebration! Animal Kingdom Lodge’s Christmas Tree And now things are about to get even more FESTIVE — because we’ve discovered the Berry Merry Margarita at Disney World! We’re making the journey over to Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge to try their Berry Merry Margarita! They’re pouring ’em up at Uzima Springs — Animal Kingdom Lodge’s pool bar! Berry Merry Margarita The Berry Merry Margarita is a strawberry-flavored margarita on the rocks made from Herradura Reposado Tequilla, with a Graham Beck Sparkling Wine floater and Jingle Bell Mickey Glow Cube! And not surprisingly, this drink looks as good as it sounds! Berry Merry Margarita And how does the Berry Merry Margarita taste? VERY, VERY GOOD! It’s kinda everything we already know and love about a classic strawberry marg on the rocks, but the sparkling wine topper gives the drink some nice fizziness. This tasted like fresh strawberries to us, not premade at all, which we loved. Berry Merry Margarita If you’re not into all the unique Christmas-y flavors being offered throughout Disney World right now and just want a good, tasty seasonal cocktail, the Berry Merry Margarita is an awesome, much safer option! Berry Merry Margarita The Berry Merry Margarita can be yours for $15! And remember — you’ll have to trek around back to Animal Kingdom’s pool bar to snag it! And if you’re looking for an even more secretive marg, read our post about Epcot’s La Cava del Tequila Black Magic margarita created by Neil Patrick Harris HERE which will be debuting later this MONTH! Raise your hand if you know that morning rush when you’re trying to hop on your favorite attractions, buuut you’re also hungry for a good breakfast? Friar’s Nook And, since that line for the Starbucks on Main Street U.S.A. can get pretty long (people need their coffee), we’ve got a NEW spot in the Magic Kingdom to snag a filling and delicious snack to start your day! The Friar’s Nook is now serving up breakfast options for the holiday season through January 4th! Their breakfast is available 30 minutes after park opening through 11 AM (so you have plenty of time to hop on some rides and then grab food afterward!). The breakfast menu comes with three different offerings, a Breakfast Sandwich, Sausage and Gravy Tots, and Cinnamon-Sugar Doughnuts! Friar’s Nook Breakfast Menu The Cinnamon-Sugar Doughnuts are the sweetest way to start off the day! They are doughnut holes covered in cinnamon-sugar, available for $4.99 or a Disney Dining Snack Credit! Cinnamon-Sugar Doughnuts The dish comes with five doughnut holes, so it’s not a particularly filling meal, but as a snack, these were super yummy! Cinnamon-Sugar Doughnuts The Breakfast Sandwich is piled up with bacon, egg, and cheddar on a multigrain croissant and served with a side of tater tots, available for $8.79. Breakfast Sandwich This sandwich was GREAT! While we find Quick Service eggs can be hit or miss, these ones were pretty yummy, flavorful and not at all dry. Possibly our favorite part was the multigrain croissant, which was soft and delicious, pairing perfectly with the contents of the sandwich. Breakfast Sandwich The Sausage and Gravy Tots are crispy tater tots covered in sausage gravy! The dish is available for $5.49 or a Disney Dining Snack Credit. Sausage and Gravy Tots These were delicious! The tots are nice and crispy, crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. The sausage gravy is the real star of the show, though! The sausage flavor really stands out and goes great with the tots. Sausage and Gravy Tots Head on over to Friar’s Nook now through January 4th to check out their limited-time breakfast menu! It’s definitely a great (and yummy!) way to start off your magic morning. Have you tried the new breakfast options at the Friar’s Nook yet? Let us know in the comments below! Related posts: NEWS! As Christmas day approaches, we asked our panel to share some of their favorite Disney Christmas memories. Here are a few we had to share this holiday season. Angie G’s memory involves what felt like a Christmas miracle for her. A little one no longer afraid of Character meet and greets and a photo with the entire family! Who could ask for more? “My favorite Christmastime memory at Walt Disney World Resort is when my daughter caught me completely off-guard and gifted me with a family picture together with Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse. For years, my little girl would only greet the princesses, hiding behind Mom whenever big brother would say ‘Hiya Pal!’ to Mickey and his friends. Pictures with our favorite Characters never had all four of us together. Then, on our very first visit to the parks during the Christmas holidays, she ran into Mickey’s arms and gave him a big hug! She held Minnie’s hand during our picture together and told me ‘Merry Christmas Mom! Now you have a picture of us all with Mickey and Minnie!’ The smile on her face was the best gift I got that year.” Ashley P. will always cherish the memory of her family’s first time attending Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party at Magic Kingdom Park. “We had the best time experiencing our favorite attractions with special holiday overlays, sampling delicious treats, and catching exclusive entertainment! We were sure to find the perfect spot right in front of Cinderella Castle to see “Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks.” My heart burst with joy as I watched my children experience the unique holiday magic of this new fireworks show! The lyrics in ‘When We’re Together’ during the finale were just perfect for that moment – ‘When we’re together, I have everything on my list. And when we’re together, I have all I wished.’ I’ll never forget it!” Panelists Tony and Kristin also have joyous memories of spending time with their loved ones at the Disneyland Resort. Like remembering your favorite gift as a child, Tony shares some of his most precious holiday memories.“For our family, the highlight of the ‘Holiday Time at the Disneyland Resort’ Guided Tour was the chance to relax together in the reserved seating area across from ‘it’s a small world’ Holiday, sipping hot cocoa and munching delicious Mickey-shaped gingerbread cookies while we watched ‘A Christmas Fantasy’ Parade go by. Sometimes the simple, quiet moments make the most precious memories that we cherish.” Kristin reflects on the joy of taking all three of her little ones to the Disneyland Resort during the holidays. “As a native Southern Californian, I’ve been lucky to experience many holidays at the Disneyland Resort. But none were as special as the first time I visited the theme parks with all three of my children, since this was my youngest child’s first Christmas. They insisted on wearing Santa hats, and we enjoyed a magical day meeting Santa Claus at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa, experiencing ‘A Christmas Fantasy’ Parade, and ‘it’s a small world’ Holiday. I’ll never forget taking this picture with all three of my Santa babies in Downtown Disney District!” For more great tips on planning your Disney vacation questions, visit DisneyParksMomsPanel.com for an answer from one of our panelists. And from our family to yours we wish you a magical holiday season! Panelists receive compensation for their participation on the Disney Parks Moms Panel. View the full article

We’ve been dreaming of Baby Yoda since we first saw his big green ears peeking out at Mando. Baby Yoda ©Disney And OF COURSE, we’ve been waiting patiently for the inevitable toys inspired by The Child of The Mandalorian fame. To our horror, what we got as a first glimpse was a creepy rendering of the little guy in toy form (basically the stuff of nightmares). Well, as of today, we got a first glimpse of what The Child plush will actually look like and it’s SO CUTE. We spotted the new design of the Baby Yoda plush online today and he really is adorable. He looks super huggable and the embroidered features are definitely expressive! Obvi, The Child wouldn’t be seen without his signature little tiny Jedi robes, so neither is his plush. ©Disney The toy is 11-inches tall and describes as “Small.” Does that mean there will be other sizes? We sure hope so! We can’t wait to bring the little one home for ourselves, but it looks like we’re going to have to wait! Preorder is open now for the plush for $24.99, but it isn’t expected to ship until February 20. This is DEF the toy we’re looking for, so we’re hoping that time flies! While earlier today we noticed Epcot’s newly transformed entryway, the entrance to the Magic Kingdom was ALSO stepping up its game in a BIG way! Happy Holidays from the Magic Kingdom! We were thrilled to hear the news about guests being able to watch the Magic Kingdom’s Christmas parade and fireworks spectacular during non-party hours, not to mention The Muppets making their triumphant return to Liberty Square this week. And now we’re even more excited after seeing the Magic Kingdom’s entrance today! Similar to Epcot (and Hollywood Studios), the Magic Kingdom’s entryway has been under heavy construction lately to improve the flow of traffic before Disney World’s 50th-anniversary celebration which will be taking place in 2021. And while the project is still nowhere near completion, the Magic Kingdom’s entrance looks and feels MUCH better today! Magic Kingdom Entrance There’s still plenty o’ construction to finish up, but just look at all this room to maneuver! Plus, there are two new gorgeous planters to admire! Magic Kingdom We’d say their decision to go with poinsettias for these flower beds is rather on point! Such a festive look to be sportin’ just in time for the holidays! Magic Kingdom Entrance Each of the new planters also doubles as a nice bench and a great place to grab a quick breather! We have a feeling it’ll be a popular place to meet up with your park hopping family and friends! Magic Kingdom Entrance Be sure to check out the new planters at the Magic Kingdom’s entrance when you head over to see the Christmas parade, fireworks (without a Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party ticket), and The Muppets Present… Great Moments in American History! Are you looking forward to seeing the Magic Kingdom’s entrance completed? Let us know in the comments below! Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge guests live out their own Star Wars stories on an immersive level like never before. Whether you’re building lightsabers at Savi’s Workshop or creating custom astromerch at Droid Depot, these experiences were made possible by Merchandise Guest Experience Managers like Alysia Haygood. In our next installment of #WomenBehindtheMagic, we’re excited to introduce you to Alysia, her fourteen year Disney career and discuss how she’s an important force behind the magic of Batuu. Alysia’s first Disney memory came at the age of four when she and her family visited Walt Disney World Resort. During that visit, a family tradition was born and Alysia and her family returned each summer for the next fifteen years. After a decade and a half of exploring the magic as a guest, she was accepted into the Disney College Program while studying International Marketing at the University of Alabama. During the program, she launched the start of her merchandising career in a role managing merchanise at Epcot. After the program, Alysia accepted a few Professional Internships, before accepting a full-time position at the company. “From the beginning, it just seemed magical to me,” said Alysia. From her early career at Epcot, she’s worked at the World of Disney at Disney Springs to Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and even assisted in opening Pandora – The World of Avatar. Now, she’s one of eleven Guest Experience Managers who oversee nine different merchandise areas on the planet of Batuu at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. “I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the range of experience that I’ve gained over the past fourteen years – from working press events to recruiting internationally for the Disney College Program,” shared Alysia. Over the years, Alysia was a part of the retail experience evolution – as we are now bringing even more immersive retail experiences to our guests. With new products at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, from building lightsabers and custom astromerch to choosing the perfect porg plush, guests can now bring home the memory of the experience as well as the souvenir. “One of the most exciting aspects of being able to introduce new products is watching guests create memories made possible through immersive merchandise,” said Alysia. Earlier this year, Alysia was recognized as the first Galaxy’s Edge cast member to receive the prestigious Walt Disney Legacy Award for embodying the values of “dream, create and inspire.” She’s humbled and forever grateful to her peers and fellow cast members who nominated her and to those who saw a reflection of Walt Disney’s ideals in her daily work. “I’m not sure if anyone truly imagines this accomplishment being achievable, but as a team, we all work toward the same goal each day – to uphold the legacy set forth of inspiring those around us and creating new experiences,” said Alysia. Alysia is thrilled to bring part of the incredible Star Wars story to life each and every day to travelers. She is just one of the many women bringing Disney magic to guests and fans around the world so stay tuned to the blog for more inspiring #WomenBehindtheMagic stories! View the full article

We were in quite the line of folks shuffling to get into Epcot this morning! Epcot Entrance Yup, Christmas week is HERE big time, meaning HELLO crowds! And as we made our way in, we noticed Epcot’s main entrance had undergone a MAJOR overhaul since we’d seen it last! For a while now, the main entrance has been under heavy construction as part of Epcot’s transformation. We’re talking a sea of construction walls! But today, SOOO MANY of the construction walls were FINALLY DOWN! We could actually see the big planter in front of Spaceship Earth again, an iconic spot to snap your epic Epcot family pic! Epcot Entrance Now that’s more like it! This looks waaaay more like the Epcot we know and love! And just in time for the holidays, too! Epcot Entrance The central flower bed looks just as gorgeous as we remembered it! Plus it’s all decked out for the holidays with some snowflake topiaries and Christmas presents! But having this spacious, wide-open entryway is the biggest GIFT of them ALL! Epcot Entrance And while we reported back in June about half of the Leave a Legacy monoliths had been removed, the remaining half have finally been taken out, creating a lot more space and airiness at the front of the classic Disney World park! Epcot Entrance The only construction walls that remain now are the ones up closer to Spaceship Earth, so we’re not talking finished by any means here — it just looks and feels SOOO much better! Epcot Entrance Check out the new entrance for yourself if you’re heading over to Epcot’s Festival of the Holidays this year! And if you need any recommendations, check out our BEST of the FEST list here! Are you happy to see Epcot looking more like itself again?
