In fact, this newly-reopened Disney Springs restaurant is hosting a Happy Hour special ALL DAY LONG! Recently, we told you Paradiso 37 had reopened with shorter hours, but we just found out about their all-day Happy Hour event! 5. When Disney World proposed reopening its theme parks in July yesterday, they mentioned little information regarding Disney World hotels. Magic Kingdom Disney later shared info regarding when Disney World planned to reopen their hotels. In this statement posted on Disney World’s website yesterday, we found out Disney Vacation Club resorts would be reopening to Members and guests on June 22nd. But there was some confusion ensued over the wording of the first sentence which stated, “Pending approval from government officials, the phased reopening plans we submitted calls for Walt Disney World theme parks and Disney World Resort hotels to open beginning July 11th.” Disney World Screenshot From Yesterday As you can see, Disney World has now retracted this statement and their website currently shows this statement instead — minus the part about Disney World Resort hotels reopening by July 11th. Disney World Screenshot From Today We chatted with a Disney World Cast Member today who confirmed that they do not have any information about Resorts other than the ones that are opening on June 22nd. Chat with CM Currently, this is all the information Disney has shared about when they expect their hotels to reopen. At this time, guests cannot make new hotel or dining reservations and they are unable to purchase tickets while Disney works to implement their new reservation system. Read all about the NEW reservation system here. We will let you know more information as it is released. Are you a DVC member? Did you book a room? Let us know in the comments below! 7. Despite many restaurants reopening in Disney Springs, there are a few remaining dining locations that we have yet to hear of an official reopening date. House of Blues Opening Soon Sign One of those restaurants is House of Blues. And although we still do not know when they will be reopening, we just noticed an update on their website that says they are “opening soon,” with several new health and safety measurements in place. House of Blues says they are committing to a “worry-free dining experience” for their guests, starting with reduced capacity in their dining rooms and six feet in between each table. Seating and Stage Area Other measurements that will be in place include sanitation stations which will be located throughout the restaurant, and signage reminding guests of the various policies in place. B. B. Blues Bar House of Blues will also implement touchless menus like we have seen being implemented throughout Disney Springs, including Wine Bar George. Touchless payment options will also be available. Wine Bar George QR Code for Digital Menus House of Blues is asking their guests to comply with their protocols and to observe social distancing, wash hands frequently, and to remain home if they are not feeling well. In regards to face coverings, their website notes that they “encourage guests to wear face coverings and are mandatory if required by local regulations.” Check out what dining at Disney Springs has been like since their reopening here! 9. With all the craziness (and the LONG WAIT) that it took to get inside World of Disney yesterday, we’re finally getting around to some other Disney-owned businesses that recently reopened! B.B. Wolf’s Sausage Co. One of those newly reopened spots happens to be run by the Big Bag Wolf! And if you’re a fan hot dogs and brats, you may be happy to know B.B. Wolf’s Sausage Co. is open for business! That’s right, little piggies! B.B. Wolf’s Sausage Co. officially reopened yesterday! According to the Cast Member we spoke with, they’re operating with only a slightly smaller menu. B.B. Wolf’s Menu We also noticed B.B. Wolf’s Maple Bacon Chocolate-Chip Cookie Dough was no longer listed on its permanent menu! It’s still available, but this rather temporary-looking pop-up sign gave us a moment of pause! Check out our review of B.B. Wolf’s Sausage Co. in Disney Springs here! B.B. Wolf’s Window There wasn’t a line at B.B. 10. Now that Disney World is planning on reopening some of its hotels as early as next month while its theme parks will be opening later in July, we have SO MANY questions! Guest Relations Cast Member in Disney Springs And while we already know Disney World Resort will be requiring guests and Cast Members to wear face masks at all times except when dining, will we have to wear one at the pool? According to Disney World’s website, all guests ages three and up must wear face coverings when visiting Disney World Resort and guests must supply their own masks. But rather interestingly, their website is now stating face covers can be removed when dining or swimming. Walt Disney World’s Website Keep in mind Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach are expected to remain closed even after the Disney World theme parks reopen, but this will be good information to keep in mind in case you want to visit the pool at your Disney World Resort. Click here to read everything you need to know about wearing a face mask at Disney World! Luna Park Pool at Disney’s Boardwalk Not requiring face coverings to be worn while swimming is in keeping with CDC guidelines. According to the CDC, they “advise those wearing face coverings to not wear them in the water. Cloth face coverings can be difficult to breathe through when they’re wet.” Disney hasn’t shared much information on the reopening of their pools. We will continue to keep you posted on face coverings and information regarding the hotel’s public pools as it is released. Check out 16 of the cutest Disney face masks we’ve seen so far here! 12. There’s already a lot of excitement happening out at Disney Springs this week with the reopening of the iconic World of Disney store, but we’ve also come across some visitors from a galaxy far, far away. If you spent some time at Disney Springs on Wednesday, you may have spotted some First Order Stormtroopers patrolling the area, on the lookout for members of the Resistance! We hear they’re stationed on some balconies these days. If you do see them, it’s probably best to snap a photo from afar and “move along,” as Stormtroopers may not appreciate you getting too close. And, if you’re feeling particularly brave, sport some of the Resistance gear you may have picked up on a visit to Batuu! Of course, if you’re more of a First Order sympathizer and want to fly those colors … well, the Stormtroopers will appreciate that, I’m sure. Disney Springs is in the midst of a phased reopening. The World of Disney store opened its doors Wednesday, along with other Disney-owned and -operated venues D-Luxe Burger (mobile order) and the Marketplace Co-Op. 13. Disney World proposed their reopening plan yesterday and since then they’ve been working out the details. Magic Kingdom Disney is set to introduce a new reservation system for their theme parks and right now, they are no longer accepting new reservations. Yesterday we even spotted that Advance Dining Reservations were unavailable. Well today, something a little surprising is happening for folks who had FastPasses scheduled for July. Today, members of our team and some of our readers noticed that their FastPasses for July (starting on the 11th when the parks are planning to reopen) were gone! Sever Dwarfs Mine Train Strangely enough, with no notice from Disney, FastPasses are disappearing from guests’ plans. Our FastPasses were still there this morning, so Disney must have pulled them sometime late morning or early afternoon. We had FastPasses booked throughout July and now they are all gone. Of course, we tried to make some new FastPasses to see if we’d be able to but we were met with an error screen. Fastpass+ Error Screen Our dining reservations are still available in our plans but it sure is weird that all of our FastPasses disappeared. We haven’t heard any statement from Disney on how the reopening will affect the FastPass system, so we are interested to learn more about Disney’s process. Perhaps this is a glitch and the FastPasses will return, but we’re not sure. This is a developing situation so we’ll be sure to keep you updated as we learn more! 14. Among the shops now open in Disney Springs as Disney World’s shopping and dining district continues in its phased reopening is The Spice & Tea Exchange in the Marketplace. The Spice & Tea Exchange The Spice & Tea Exchange reopened yesterday (as did several other locations including the World of Disney and The Daily Poutine, among many others). If you haven’t checked it out previously, we hope you’ll join us as we step back inside this shop packed with herbs, gourmet spices, and lots of fun finds for the tea connoisseur in your life! Before we step in, a word or two about the new entry and safety procedures… Distance Markers outside the store As you approach the entrance you’ll notice the distancing signs on the ground that are starting to look very familiar around Disney Springs to promote physical distancing as guests wait to enter the store. Traffic flow is directed with doors designated for entering and exiting. Exit Only Marker We were able to walk in, though, without a wait. Immediately upon entry, we were offered hand sanitizer. Hand sanitizer As we explored the shelves, we were still welcome to open jars. The Spice & Tea Exchange The Spice & Tea Exchange It’s well worth mentioning that the jars and displays are continuously being wiped down by cast members. Cast Members at The Spice & Tea Exchange Over 140 spice blends are on offer here, including — but by no means limited to — these Custom Blends for seafood dishes like the Spicy Tuna Rub, a Northwest Salmon Rub, and a Coastal Blend. 15. There was another wave of stores that have reopened this week at Disney Springs. We were live yesterday at World of Disney, which drew in huge crowds resulting in wait times of up to six hours to shop! Ears Section of World of Disney Today we checked out The LEGO Store, which also opened on May 27. Being a store that was centered around hands-on playing with the Legos, shopping here is pretty different now with the new health and safety measurements in place! Currently, there is only one working entrance to access The LEGO Store. The only entrance to the LEGO Store If outdoor queues are necessary, floor markers are present to indicate where guests should stand to maintain a six-foot distance from other parties. Outside the LEGO Store Once inside, guests will see additional floor markings to maintain social distancing from other shoppers. Physical distancing floor markers in the LEGO Store The store has taken several measures to reduce the number of touchpoints where germs could spread. Their interactive touch screen computers have been turned off. The bins with build-your-own parts for minifigs and Legos for guests to play were also unavailable at this time to reduce touching. Computers are shut down in the LEGO Store In addition, guests are NOT allowed to approach the shelves or touch ANY products inside the LEGO Store. This is indicated by taped-off sections of the store. Taped off floor markings in the LEGO Store Additional floor markings are present to remind guests to stay on the “yellow” area, in this instance meaning where the yellow floor markings are located. The floor marking reads, “Kindly stay within the yellow area of the floor.” Guests must stay behind the blue line and not approach merchandise If a guest wishes to see a product, LEGO Store employees are available to grab the item for them as well as talk about the product and answer any questions the guest may have. LEGO Store employee shows a product to guests When a guest is ready to check out, the registers are set up in a way so guests are off to the side of the employee instead of standing right in front of them. Guests are off to the side of the employee in the LEGO Store Hand sanitizer is readily available for guests and employees to use at the register. Payment system in the LEGO Store, off to the side from the employee Overall, the health and safety protocol at The LEGO Store are highly visible! With no guests permitted to touch or interact with the products, The LEGO Store may feel a little different than what we’re used to. Having employees on hand to interact with the guests though is a nice touch, and still offers guests the opportunity to learn about the products available for purchase. Take a look at some of the other health and safety protocol we’ve seen at retail shops in Disney Springs here! Are you planning on visiting Disney Springs in the coming weeks? Will you stop by The LEGO Store, even with these new distancing and no-touch policies in place? Let us know in the comments! Disney Springs began a phased reopening last week with third-party stores and restaurants, but yesterday Disney-owned stores such as World of Disney and Marketplace Co-Op began reopening as well. Ears Section World of Disney has posted its hours as 10AM to 10PM (the same as Disney Springs) so we were a little surprised to see the store was open to guests at 8AM today! A Cast Member we spoke to said they decided to get an early jump on the day in order to “get a better handle on things.” At this time we’re not sure if the store will be changing it’s operating hours because she seemed to imply they are taking things day by day! Men’s Section And unlike yesterday, we didn’t have to use the new virtual queue system to go shopping at World of Disney today! 17. Disney proposed a potential reopening date and plan for Disney World yesterday, and it’s a lot to dig into. Bob Chapek Yesterday, we heard some comments from Disney CEO Bob Chapek about the reopening and how Disney is looking to welcome guests back responsibly. Today, Chapek spoke with Good Morning America to further lay out the reasoning and expectations behind what a reopening day in Disney World will look like. Explaining the July 11th date Chapek noted that they chose that date by working backward. As their ability to reopen safely became clear, they picked the date by determining how much time the company would need to open responsibly considering all of the imminent training and procedure changes. Mickey Waffle at Magic Kingdom He explained that Disney is going to be a little bit different when we return. Unfortunately, that means an environment where not everyone can be accommodated like they normally could. He asked for patience and understanding from guests as these sorts of situations arise. “In order to go to full speed, you gotta start somewhere,” Chapek explained, “And we’re going from the beginning and we’re going to be very responsible in doing it.” When asked about how things will look different, Chapek talked about how the park has had to be re-engineered in a way to allow for appropriate physical distancing. Guests will definitely see areas that are taped off to help with this. Disney Springs Beyond that, we’re going to see much less density in the parks. Disney is not releasing capacity numbers, but the limits will be significant. Chapek explained that as some things remain closed in the parks, most will be open. “Do the math,” he said — fewer people means shorter wait times. Chapek called the reduction in waits a “silver lining” of the new measures. He mentioned that for those lucky enough to get into the new reservation system, it’s going to be quite the magical day. Big Thunder Mountain Crowds When asked about the biggest challenge to reopening the parks, Chapek spoke on the inherent trust that people have in Disney. To wrap the interview, Chapek made a few comments about the conversations of the NBA completing their season at Disney World. He noted that Disney is in daily conversations with the NBA to see if that’s something that they want to happen. He noted, “We certainly want it to happen.” ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex Chapek’s insights certainly shed some light on what we can expect as Disney World steps toward that reopening. 22. Disney-owned locations have officially reopened their doors in a newly-reopened Disney Springs! World of Disney The first place we wanted to head yesterday was World of Disney so we could get our long-overdue Disney merch fix. But we weren’t the only ones! The line to get into World of Disney yesterday was absolutely CRAZY — they even used a virtual queue! But today, it seems like crowds are a little more manageable today. When we arrived at World of Disney this morning, we were somewhat shocked to see that there was no line at all to get into the store. Multi-hour wait, who? Virtual queue, who? We don’t know them. World of Disney Today Yup, those crowds are GONE. Much like the first few days of the Disney Springs reopening, we saw the complex go from packed to pretty empty. We were able to walk right up to and into World of Disney, even as Cast Members continue to monitor capacity. World of Disney Today We guess that first-day hype died down pretty quickly! So, if you were thinking of taking a trip to World of Disney, but weren’t jazzed about a multi-hour wait; that no longer seems to be the case (today at least!!). Want to see how CROWDED Disney Springs was yesterday? Click here! Hoping to swing by World of Disney soon? Tell us in the comments! 23. Now that California Governor Gavin Newsom says theme parks may reopen in Phase Three, Legoland has just proposed its reopening date. Legoland The theme park located in Carlsbad, California is hoping to reopen on July 1st. Legoland Florida is set to reopen on June 1st, along with several other Orlando-based theme parks, have announced June reopenings including Universal Studios and potentially SeaWorld. But in California, theme parks aren’t allowed to reopen until at least Stage Three, a phase the state’s health officials are anticipating will happen until June at the earliest. ©SeaWorld As reported by The Orange County Register, California’s Legoland and SeaWorld were scheduled to meet yesterday, May 27th with San Diego County health officials to discuss what health and safety measures they would be implementing upon reopening (social distancing for guests and staff, increased sanitization, contactless payments, limited capacity, and employee training, etc.), but so far only Legoland has submitted a reopening date. 25. Hey, everybody! We’re feeling EXTRA fancy today which can only mean one thing! It’s Mickey! It’s time to fork over some money on our top five favorite high-dollar snacks at Disney World! Don’t worry — most of these pricier Disney World treats barely top out at ten bucks, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t still super-indulgent! Be forewarned — if you’re on a Disney Dining Plan, NONE of these goodies will be an option for you to use your snack credits on (click here to see some that ARE!). Of course, you can still enjoy ALL of these extravagant treats — you’ll just have to pay for them out of pocket instead! Time to get rollin’! Spring Rolls at the Spring Roll Cart in Adventureland Our first stop is one of our most beloved places to visit at Magic Kingdom, especially earlier in the day! That’s when Adventureland’s Spring Roll Cart is still well-stocked and usually has the best selection of delicious spring rolls flavors before they begin to sell out! Spring Roll Cart Yes, sadly the secret is out about the Spring Roll Cart and once a flavor is gone, it typically isn’t replenished until the next day. But here’s the real kicker — you get two hefty-sized spring rolls for $7.50 — that means each spring rolls is $3.75 a piece! Spring Roll Cart’s Menu Oh, but it’s soooo mouth-wateringly worth it! With flavors like Pepperoni Pizza, Philly Cheesesteak, Rueben, Cuban, and Cheeseburger, you can enjoy a new spring roll flavor every time you swing by! Pepperoni Pizza Spring Roll If there’s one snack in Magic Kingdom worth shelling out your hard-earned dough for, this might be it! These little rolls of deliciousness have yet to disappoint us!! Read our review of the Pepperoni Pizza Spring Roll here! Colossal Pretzel at Pongu Pongu Most of us have seen the Colossal Cinnamon Roll lurking in the jungle at Disney’s Animal Kingdom before, but did you know they also have a Colossal Pretzel?!? This park is absolutely WILD about its colossal-sized snacks! Colossal Pretzel Sadly, the Colossal Pretzel isn’t shaped like Mickey’s head like his brother the Colossal Cinnamon Roll but it IS almost the size of OUR head! Better yet, Pongu Pongu serves the Colossal Pretzel with a generous helping of creamy, rich Beer Cheese Sauce! There isn’t anything in our lives that isn’t enhanced with melty liquid BEER CHEESE! Colossal Pretzel with Beer Cheese Note that this guy isn’t available all day — if you swing by first thing in the morning while they’re still serving breakfast they may not be ready yet, so shoot to grab one around lunchtime or later. This thing is massively sharable (but you totes don’t have to!) and seriously one of the best pretzels we’ve ever had at Disney World. You’re looking at a total cost of $10.49 for this Bavarian-style bad boy! Read more about the Colossal Pretzel at Pandora HERE! California Cheese and Charcuterie Plate at BaseLine Tap House We didn’t know what to think when this trendy, quasi-industrial lounge replaced our sweet little Writer’s Stop a few years ago (much to our relief the Carrot Cake Cookie was spared and is now available at Trolley Car Cafe!). BaseLine Tap House But in all honesty, BaseLine Tap House has become one of our new favorite hangouts at Disney’s Hollywood Studios! And judging by how there’s rarely a seat available on its huge outdoor patio these days, it appears a lot of folks feel the same way. BaseLine Tap House If you love a good cheese board, you’d be hard-pressed to find one better than BaseLine’s! Theirs includes Toma Farmstead Cheese, Point Reyes Original Blue Cheese, Laura Chenel’s Sonoma Goat Cheese, Chorizo and Calabrese Salami, Cornichons, Grapes, and Toasted Baguette, all for $10! Charcuterie Board We happen to think it pairs great with a beer flight for $12! You get to sample four Californian craft beers. Might as well as throw in one of their Bavarian Pretzels for $9, too (here we go again with the cheese sauce!). Beer Flight and Bavarian Pretzel You can have yourself a cheese and bread feast at BaseLine — if you’ve got the DOUGH! Read our full review of Baseline Tap House’s sips and eats HERE! Empanadas de Barbacoa at Choza de Margarita Now we’re heading over to Epcot’s World Showcase to enjoy some of Choza de Margarita’s delicious Empanadas de Barbacoa! These fried doughy delights are filled with shredded Barbacoa Beef and topped with Chipotle Sauce, Crema Mexicana, and Queso Fresco! It even comes with a side of Corn Esquites dusted with some chili-lime salt! YUMMY! Empanada de Barbacoa For $10.50, it’s more in the price range of an affordable meal at Disney World, but we don’t mind the upcharge when confronted with this much deliciousness! Just be careful — they go down REALLY fast! Especially if you’re enjoying them with one of Choza de Margarita’s signature cocktails such as the Smoky Pineapple for $15.50 made with Mezcal Ilegal Blanco, Pineapple-Ginger Juice, Ancho Reyes Chile Liqueur and a Tajin Chile-Lime Powdered Rim or their super-colorful Fiesta Marg for $12.75! Fiesta Margarita Learn more about the Fiesta Marg at Choza de Margarita here! We’ve been known to get a little carried away and have to cough up another $10.50 for another round of Empanadas because we ate the first batch so quickly! Whoops! Check out some of the other menu offerings to pair with the Empanadas at Choza de Margarita here! Beef Brisket Poutine at Refreshment Port Our last stop brings us to Refreshment Port which is also located in Epcot. Here is where you’ll find the Beef Brisket Poutine for $9.50! Beef Brisket Poutine What’s not to love about crispy golden-brown Fries covered in pulled brisket, smothered in a bath of Beer Cheese Sauce, and topped with Crispy Onions? Of course, if you’re a Poutine Purist, you can get the Traditional Poutine for $7.50 which comes with French Fries, Beef Gravy, and Cheese Curds! Traditional Poutine Occasionally, you’ll even find a new Poutine moonlighting at Refreshment Port like this Duck Confit Poutine they rolled out at Epcot’s Food and Wine Festival last year. We sure hope it quacks its way back to this year’s fest! Duck Confit Poutine Of course, Disney World is home to several equally-stellar Poutines which you can read more about here! There’s no shortage of french fries covered with goodies in Disney World! Read about the Duck Confit Poutine Refreshment Port recently had here!
